I have published two books, the third is in editing at the moment.
I'm also a mother of 5, (3 bio, 2 adopted).
I live in the tiny kingdom of Eswatini, near South Africa. I foster orphaned animals and have ended up with 18 dogs, 2 cats, 2 guinea pigs, 2 horses, 2 snakes, and a tarantula.
I am also a survivor. As a teen, I was kidnapped and brutalised. I eventually escaped by killing one of my attackers. Finding hope and figuring out who I was and who I wanted to be after that incident has taken me a lifetime. I still suffer from PTSD. I had no support as a teen and only learnt the importance of close friendships as an adult. One of my books, The Long Road Home, is based on my life, although sold as fiction. Two years ago tomorrow, I had to have thyroidectomy. Unfortunately, despite MANY doctors visits over many years, my concerns about my thyroid were ignored or brushed off. By the time a doctor finally listened, my thyroid was more tumor than organ. And because my thyroid hadn't worked in so many years, my body is no longer capable of absorbing certain things, like iron and vitamin B. This has caused my nerve endings damage and has made my life incredibly difficult and painful.
