Writer & Reluctant Activist

Renee Niemann is a writer, mother, and unapologetically loud voice behind the viral platform @fakeadultmom and her growing movement, @Resist_Like_A_Mother. Her work blends grief, grit, and gallows humor to document life under rising authoritarianism, and what it means to raise children through it. She is the creator of A Handbook for the Recently Resisting, an accessible guide to surviving and fighting back against fascism in America.

Through sharp essays, haunting truths, and fierce maternal love, Renee reminds us that resistance doesn’t always look like protest signs. It can look like bedtime stories, blistering truth-telling, or refusing to be silent one more day.

She lives in New Orleans with her husband, her teen, tween, toddler, and a very strong WiFi signal.
