I know the part, I think the hardest part though is getting someone picking us up. No, it will be like just not having a drink with the people who are probably the the guests who would probably be closer to our age than the other stuff. But I want to hang out with them.

I didn't like feeling one, I don't like the sun and the heat. I never liked it. Two, the sand always makes makes me feel dirty and gritty. It is, and then three, my hair. So I actually had one guy who was like, Yeah, we don't mess, he's like, your hair. You're from the your black girl from New York. That's the only thing I'm afraid of. Okay, so transparency. When I start watching Below Deck, and I've watched all of the seasons and all of the franchises. I'm a little behind this year, but I didn't see the first season.

I didn't I didn't change it, I didn't upgrade it. I was it is what it was. And then so when I first got my cable, DVR was extra. I'm like, whatever. I'm not doing this. And then significantly more.

So I caught up enough in the first season to be like, okay, yeah. When Kat talked about her old Chief Stew, Adrian, I know who she's talking about.

I saw a couple of uh episodes where I knew who the players were, but the format changed from season one to shoot and two, yeah. And my opinion of said people did not change after actually watching it.

I had never watched, I have heard of Below Deck. So for years and years, probably since it first started airing, because um when I used to commute into Brooklyn every morning, I used to listen to Z100 because I love Elvis Duran. So I would listen to the morning show, and I remember hearing him talking about it, and I'm like, uh, I'm not really into reality TV, but that sounds kind of fun. Like, I'm gonna watch that. I never watched that.

I know, I I'm just really not into reality TV. It just never really did like a few things here and there, but not like the Kardashians, the real housewives.

Yes, and so we watched it, and it's a lot of like bravo people, uh-huh. But I had no idea who these people were, and so you you just like no idea who Kate was. Like, like she's legit fucking, they're picking up the things for the money, and she's literally throwing them away. And she's real world here. Real world, thank you. Thank you, Google. And and so then I'm like, yeah, all right, whatever. So, but Alex and Amaris were like, Oh, let's let's just check out below deck, and so I'm like, Yeah, you guys, okay. They were gonna watch it. I don't know where I was, but I was like, nah, go ahead, start watching it. I'll I'll catch up or whatever. They started watching it, and then I would like peek in here and there, and I'm like standing there by the steps, and he's like, just sit down and watch. I'm like, no, no, I'm I'm I'm on my way to do whatever. Just sit down and watch. So it came to be like I would just put it on for myself, and next thing I know, they're still in like season one, and I have binged the entire fucking thing.

Meanwhile, back and then I kept going and going and going, and going, and Amaris is like, one day she comes in and she sees me watching it, and she's like, Is that below deck? And I was like, Yeah, she's like, What the fuck? Like, not what the fuck, but she's like, What season is this? And I'm like, Oh, this is like season 995, and she's like, uh, damn, okay, yeah, I know.

Dude, which apparently was problematic, and they pulled how. I I'm gonna say this because I don't want to forget. Like, I can understand how they can see it's problematic. But what kind of pisses me off about them pulling the episode about how problematic it was towards trans people, I'm also kind of pissed off that they're not like, oh, that's just problematic because those guys are are fucking chauvinistic pigs. Like they talk about women like shit, and yet nobody saw anything wrong with that. And it's like I think I don't I like I don't deny that they talked about trans people in a shitty way. I'm not I'm not saying No, you're absolutely right, but I feel like you should have been like, listen, this episode was problematic towards trans people and towards women, like these people have a fucking grip of women. Give me a grip of gag, okay? Because I know like grip of this, grip of that, like dude, and then they're like, oh, we like these guys. Ew. Ew.

Okay, I can see why they changed it though. And right off the bat, I didn't like Sam. Off the bat.

But he wasn't like the first officer of the first officer, yeah, but he's like in charge of the deck crew, and then you have Eddie, CJ, and Dave on deck. And then you have Ben as the captain. Uh sorry, the chef's the captain. Ben is the chef.

Obviously, this is 10 years ago. She was what 23 at the time. So I just wouldn't want to make it clear that these are people we're talking about 10 plus years ago. People grow up, people change, they evolve. So I'm gonna just say Sam of the past. I'm going so like so. We're gonna assume when I talk about these people, it's them of the past, they're obviously not the same person anymore.

And she I didn't like the fact that she got pleasure whenever CJ, another douchebag, would talk down about another female. Like she had that grin on her face, like, oh, he likes me. Oh and I was like, oh, that's gross.

That's literally one of my notes. If I can find where I wrote them. Oh, here they go. It says Sam, I wrote Sam always has a smug look on her face. I said, because her family has a catamaran and she's an engineer. Like that sums her up.

Um, and I think that the relationship between her and Adrian always is doomed to fail because I mean, we see, we know what happens with Adrian, but Adrian mentions that this is her first time as Chief Stew. And I think that she is just a little bit lacking in the leadership part of the job.

Like, she made some mistakes, but she wasn't a horrible person.

It's a learning curve. It is so like give the benefit of the doubt, but Sam is like eating that shit up and going after her, and so it's kind of like Adrian's almost doomed to fail because not only is she just still trying to learn her own shit, but she can't even like make her own mistakes without Sam kind of compounding them and then her having to go back on Sam. Like had she had two stews like Kat, maybe Adrian would have succeeded better.

Cat girl, it's hard for me to. Um I'll every time I think about cat, like I'm watching her now, but I remember her when she's in season two. So I just hard for me to go ahead and chat about it.
