Hey there and welcome to this episode of Sas and Sips, where we drink while we dish about TV shows. And this season's TV show is Clickbait. We are your hosts. I'm Lisa. I'm Brittany. And welcome in with us. Tonight we're going to talk about episode two of Clickbait, the detective. But before we do that, what are we drinking?
SPEAKER_01We're drinking Yellowtail.
SPEAKER_00Yes. This is it's um the Shiraz, and this is like my go-to bottle of wine when I'm in the liquor store.
SPEAKER_01Um sounds so fancy. We're drinking the Shiraz. I know.
SPEAKER_00I know. I just I haven't found a big bottle of Malbec that I like, but yeah. We need the big bottle. We need the big bottle. We're just being economical. I mean, it's better for the environment, right? Mm-hmm. Yeah. And if you drink from that bottle, just think about all the water that you'll save from not washing a glass. So I mean, it's really just practical sense.
SPEAKER_01Um, think about like the big like boss you have now you throw like fairy lights in for the backyard.
SPEAKER_00Yes. As if I didn't already have enough, right? We repurpose here. Um, but yeah, so red wine, it's really yummy. And uh we're ready to jump in. I don't think I forgot anything, right? We're ready to jump in. Yeah. Um, do we have any questions? No, not yet. So we'll start running through the synopsis and then I guess we can just interrupt as per usual when one of us has a thought. You ready? Yeah, in the last episode, it it ended off just as they found the van, and they go to open the doors, but we don't see what's inside. That's where the episode cuts. So this one picks up right at that moment. And what's inside the van.
SPEAKER_01Okay, so there's the tarp, yeah, and there's the sticker that's sign on the wall that matches up with the one that was in the video. But but there's nothing. Oh, yeah, no, there's no Nick.
SPEAKER_00There's no there, and P is P is sitting in the car, and she's just like ready to explode. She wants to find out what happened, and then Detective Amiri doesn't even tell her, he's just like, What does he say to her? Like, nothing, nothing, like, don't worry, or something like that. I don't know what he's doing.
SPEAKER_01He's trying to like not tell her, which was so strange because, like, if I was Via and the detective was telling me, I can't tell you, I would be like, Oh my god, crime scene, right? That's I would be thinking in my head, like the worst, obviously. And I just thought it was strange. And then they show this very suspicious look in his eyes, like he he like glares off into the distance, and you just he's just looking very suspicious. Like he's not he's not making himself look innocent in any way, and it continues throughout this episode with his involvement in this case, which that's actually in the the next scene. So you're back at the office, and you meet um, I originally called her the chief, but I I I think she's like the sergeant or something. She's she's like the head of the other detectives, the woman with the blonde hair.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, she I mean, she could be a captain or a lieutenant, yeah.
SPEAKER_01I don't I think she was like a sergeant, maybe something like that. She was like higher up compared to everybody else, and she was talking about that the fact that um it now goes from a missing person's case to a homicide case, and so um, like the detective whose name is Amiri, he wants to be so much more involved in this case than he actually is, and you know, like the the head lady, the the chief sergeant lady. Um she basically just tells him, like, you're not on homicide, you're a missing person, and right this is out of your hands now. And so he just wants to be so involved in this case, which again makes him look suspicious. Like I was thinking, like, in does he want to be involved so he could start covering shit up because he did it. And then the scene moves right to um Sophie next house. No, it actually doesn't. I'm a liar. I think you hear that Sophie goes back to the station, like you're hearing that. Like the wife came back into the station, like somebody said that.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, actually, I'm not sure where it well, why don't I remember like the order?
SPEAKER_01Oh, okay. So then um, like you see her talking to like the the the chief or the sergeant, the woman with the blonde hair, and then also like the bald man who's like the main detective of homicide, and you see her talking to both of them while you see it uh like uh detective Amari like on his phone on his friends app, which was supposed to be like a Facebook type app, and you see him like stalking so profiles and mixed profiles, yeah. Yeah, and so I was thinking in my head, I'm like, is is it like how kind of like Facebook is like you could search for somebody but you can't really see their stuff.
SPEAKER_00If I got more of an Instagram vibe from it than Facebook, but I guess it it depends on how you have your profile set.
SPEAKER_01If your profile is private, then no, but if it's public, then anyone can look at it exactly, and so I was just thinking that I mean I haven't been on Facebook in very long time, so I'm not a hundred percent sure how Facebook still works, but from like what I remember, like you unless you really went into your settings, um like somebody would have to be friends with you for you to be able to see their stuff, otherwise, it would just show like their name, yeah, and like maybe location, and that's it. And so the fact that he was able to see so much information on them, either that was public information or he was friends with them, like on social media. But I figured then, like that's that was my initial thought. But then Sophie just acts so distant towards him, like showing she doesn't act as if she knows him, yeah. Showing that like their only relationship is is like victim to detective. I mean, like she's not directly the victim, but she is like you know, a victim in this case. Um, so that kind of just went off the window. But he was looking at like family photos and wedding photos, like photos of their kids, too. Maybe he was just trying to get an idea of like who Nick Brewer is and Sophie Brewer.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, the like the homicide team or whatever, they go to Nick and Sophie's house, and she gives she she sees them like just walking all over their house all over her house with their shoes on, and she gives them the only like oh look, she's like, yo, your husband is missing, and you're worried about the fucking shoes on your floor. Come on, lady.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, because maybe something's Tamari drives her home from the station, and like he's helping her get into the house because like the media team's still like swarmed up at her house, and he goes to, I think, take off his shoes, and you're like, Oh, never mind, don't bother.
SPEAKER_00Like, yeah, okay, but um, so they they end up collecting everybody's phone, and the other homicide detective is like, Oh, we we're gonna ask for your devices, and Amiri steps in and he's like, Well, they can't compel you, and then that so that pissed him off.
SPEAKER_01He's like, You need a warrant, yeah. And the detectives like the homicide detective's like, nope, like cell phones now, and everybody just hands them over, you know, except for PSIA. She's like, My tell him beating rice, yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_00So the so but then you find out like they leave and he stays behind. Amiri stays behind. I don't know why, but he stays behind and he hears a notification in uh the older boys from my is it Ethan? Yeah, I think that's his name. And so, you know, he he asks he asks to enter and he lets him in, and he, you know, he he confronts him about the um iPad or whatever, and the kid is like, oh yeah, and he shows him that he's looking at this um geo nicking app that people, yeah. Geonicking. Geo nicking. So what it is is people are using this app, which is basically a map, and they're searching for Nick. And then if they don't find him in their area, then they like cross it off the map so that you can see what areas have been searched. Um, so yeah, so he shows him and he and Detective Amiri convinces him to give him the iPad or whatever.
SPEAKER_01Um he takes that back to the precinct and gets himself onto homicide because just to stop there, there was something that happened at the house that we skipped over that I think just a little important. Okay. Um, so um, what's it called? So while the homicide team is at the house looking at everything, right before Detective Amiri goes into Ethan's room and finds the tablet and then like takes it from him. You find out that Nick's passport is missing because the homicide detectives are asking Sophie for like everything, and she's showing them like all her files and stuff, and she's like, I don't have it. She's like, I don't know where it is, which is just weird that like his passport would be missing.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, well, but she said that he used it to go to Canada for a volume. Yeah, what was it last week, last month? So, I mean, if it's anything like my house, I took my kids to the pediatrician two weeks ago, their vaccine cards and immunization records are still on the counter. So, who am I to judge Nick and his missing passport? But that's just me.
SPEAKER_01All that stuff, that's what counties are for, for shit to collect all that.
SPEAKER_00Right, right. I mean, you you've been here, so yeah.
SPEAKER_01I don't know. Maybe look hard and you'll find Nick's passport over there. Yeah, it oh, is that what that is?
SPEAKER_00So let's go back to talking about homicides. Oh, okay, wait, let's I'm gonna cuddle that out. So just let's pretend like we never stop because I'm like, yeah, that's I want to tell you, but I was like, Yeah, that I I'm not gonna publish. That's a bad idea.
SPEAKER_01No, no, it's okay, it's okay. So, yeah, so Sophie's trying to hand over the passport and she's showing the detectives everything. Like, she she doesn't have Nick's passport, yeah. Which is because, and like her reason for that is because she says that Nick was recently in um Canada for like a volleyball game or like a meet or something like that where he had to do his job. But was he's face is telling it all.
SPEAKER_00But was he so Pia is with Detective Amiri, and she asks him if it's true that if you don't find a missing person within the first 48 hours, that the chances of finding them alive drop by 50. And he tells her that it is, so she's yeah, this is okay. This is where you were right. I skipped over this, and so this is where um he is this one he asks wait, uh hold on, I'm confusing myself.
SPEAKER_01Oh wait, okay, I got it. After he takes the iPad from Ethan, he then um leaves the house, gets into his car, the media team's like jumping all over him asking questions. He just ignores the media team. He gets in his car and immediately he transfers all the data over from the iPad to his cell phone. Oh, right, before turning the iPad into the um chief, yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_00It was the chief or whoever she's sergeant, whatever. Right, yeah. So I wasn't I wasn't really off. Okay. No, so I was confusing myself because that's when he like wiggles his way onto the oh no no no, that's not that's not it yet. He gives it to her, and then well, he gives it to the geo nicking, yeah. But um when he walks in, he's also like, You missed this to the other detective, and so that pisses off the other detective.
SPEAKER_01Oh, yeah, he was being like a little cocky about it, and the other detective afterwards, like really just put so basically, so he hands over to the um iPad to like the chief sergeant woman, like the the head honcho over there, and um afterwards she's like, Hmm, oh my god, you can stay on the case or whatever, but like doesn't really give him a title, just no, because he tells the family he tells PSI, yeah.
SPEAKER_00Oh, he tells her so that um that even though he's technically not in homicide, that if she requests it, he can stay on the case, and so he he she she does or they do, and he gets to stay, and so that kind of pisses off them also, the other the other detectives and the sergeant is just like yeah, so he's staying on the cage, yeah. She's like, I don't know, I don't know what you did, but or something something, but she kind of insinuates that you know he's he's behind it.
SPEAKER_01And while Nick hands over the iPad, he also shows messages or they find messages in Ethan's cell phone where he was texting about his parents' marital problems. Yes, yeah. So it was something like mom was in bed all day because she was upset at dad, or something like that, and that they're acting like nothing happened. Yeah, which is definitely not like a Sophie treat, you know, like she's not the type to like be upset and stay in bed all day. I mean, like her husband's missing, and she's just like, let's teach chemistry, you know what I mean? Right, right.
SPEAKER_00I mean, I will say that sometimes, like the best thing that you could do is to try to keep the routine for the kids. And I know it's harder with older kids because you can't really like hide shit from them, like the little ones. But um I I kind of get it too. Like it seems so silly from the outside, but if you if you you know, like just kind of try to put yourself in her shoes, I think that it's the smart move.
SPEAKER_01Because otherwise, like you're just gonna sit there and worry and like that, obviously none of it is healthy, but you know, that can't be any better than you know, trying to figure out like the atomic weight of some stupid shit and you know, like distracting yourself with like you know, and so that's the point that like that seems like the Sophie type behavior, like in a time of crisis, she remains calm and she proceeds as normal. But the fact that whatever was going on with her and Nick was so horrible that she was in bed, it wasn't a Sophie trait, right? From what, like that's not like what a square is completely opposite, yeah, exactly. And so the fact that Ethan was talking about it and Detective Amiri found it, like just added more. Um, like he just gave more brownie points. So, anyway, he leaves his sergeant chiefs. I don't know what the fuck to call her, but whatever. He leaves his captain lady, yeah. So a boss he leaves his boss's office, and he he walks out to his little cubicle, and all the other homicide detectives and people working on the case, like who are actually on the homicide team, like they they do like some shit where they like put his face on they found his his fake his wannabe Tinder profile, yeah, and they like blow up pictures and post everywhere and like poster size and put it all over the the off the um the precinct just to embarrass him, yeah. So I'm always like, what the book and the the actual like homicide detective, like the guy with the bald hair. I really need to learn his name. I don't know his name either. Okay, cool. So that means he's just like not relevant, or maybe I'm just really bad with names. I don't remember the kids' names either. Oh, I remember Ethan. I forgot the other one. Maybe Kai or something like that. I feel like I wrote down Kaya for some reason, and I don't know why. Okay, we'll go with it for now. Yeah, anyway, so the Oh, it is Kai. Oh, look at me, no one shit. Yeah. Um, he was just like rooming him out though, the homicide detective. Like he was like, Well, you're trying to act like you're like he was like, You're selfish, you're not a team member, you're acting like you're the only one on this case that this is like like this case to you is just to move up, whereas this is like our livelihoods, and we're trying to do something, and you're not even like paying attention to what's going on around you. And he he rips, um, he rips Amari a new one. And I feel like he really deserved it in that moment because although we as viewers were just like, Yeah, Amari, go get that shit, like this episode's about you. Um, it was more than that in the storyline of the show, and so it was really nice to just see him um like see somebody ground him, I want to say, or like not like make him humble. He wasn't humble, but like they they knocked him down a little bit.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, yeah. We get we get like that little awkward moment between Pia C and the detective, where she tells him that um that she really did lose her phone and that that's why you know she never called, and he just he just says, Oh, I thought you changed your mind, and so they they just kind of leave it like that, but it looks like you know, oh, but is there still something there?
SPEAKER_01I know. So for now is interesting the way that she kind of left their um, I don't want to say like relationship status, but I mean like love interest was kind of like on a baby cliffhanger right there. Um, and as so he gets actually sent home from the police station because he's been working like 20-something hours now, and they're like, um, go home, we're trying to avoid overtime. Bye. And while driving home, you hear um like a radio broadcast talking about the geo nicking, and obviously Amari's all over it, Amiri. I'm sorry, obviously Amiri's all over it. And he goes to this one location on the map and he hears the noise, turns around, sees kids, flashes his badge, like, of course, kids run away. And without even like searching the area, he marks it off on the map as searched. And so in my head, I was like, Oh, like he marked it off as search, that's why nobody would go over there, and he can go like rummage around in his carton, like he's being very selfish about what's going on because of his own motives, which I want to say are only just moving up in positions. Okay, and we find out that that's actually something really, really important to him. Um, the fact that he hasn't made homicide, it's been a couple of years. Like, we we meet his family in a little bit and they start talking about that. We actually right after this, like you see him at mosque, see him praying, and then I'm I'm pretty sure right after that, like we end up at his house. Like he goes home, and so he goes to his family's house, not even like his apartment. He goes to his family's house, he made his parents, he made his sister, and they're just like, Oh, we heard about like the the June Nicki on the news, or like the kidnapped guy, like and his sister was saying that everybody was talking about it, like that she knows, and they're just like taunting him about his position, but like I I want to say like family playful banter, not like anything to really hurt his feelings. They're like, Oh, aren't you gonna get that raise that you've been after for like four years or something? So, this is something that's been really bothering Amiri. So, I I have a feeling like when he knew of all this going on, he immediately like tried to jump on the case, just and like again for his own motives, just to move up. But the way he's acting just makes him so suspicious of holy shit, like just act normal if you're just trying to get like a raise, that's it. In um I'm not and I'm again I don't know why I can't remember this show linearly, but I don't even know if that's a word, but um but yeah chronologically chronologically that will help I know I'm looking I'm looking at like the notes that I took so that's why I didn't get the real but yeah and so um you know there's so much hype around the video and Sophie is wondering how come there's no ransom note so she does a um like a press conference and you know she does like a video statement yeah and so she asks whoever's holding him to let him go Pia ends up playing her voicemail from Nick to the detective and his car yeah and I think I think that's when she asks him about the whole 48 hours thing yeah I think it's in that same I think that's also when they like roast him for not being a team player too so I'm not thinking chronologically either no and it's fine it's this is a heavy episode yeah like there's a lot going on right and then um they find Nick's bite and yeah oops sorry that was like a big blurp drank up so they they find a crime scene and they find his bike and they find a needle so their theory now is that he was drugged and kidnapped by somebody who knew his work routine detective now starts to think that Nick and Sophie were having marital problems and he wonders to the brewer house yeah yeah wait a minute does he go to the brewer house or is this when they go so in my notes I have that he they found a syringe in the woods and the right like I think Amiri or like the detective that found it was like I assume this is how he was kidnapped and then immediately after you see detective Amiri at the brewer house and that's when he meets Sophie's mom who answers the door Ruby yeah does anything even happen there like he walks into the house he sits down it's Sophie's mom Ruby Sophie and then like her neighbor like came over said some like dumb shit that was pointless and Amiri asks to talk to Sophie in private and says like hey I know about the voicemail I I he I think he even shows her the voicemail and he starts asking about marital problems like pretty much like were you guys having marital problems and insinuating that maybe she did this I heard that too young no I heard that too but um spooky I think it's the wind because I know it's the wind you're able to hear the wind like I'm sitting next to a window and I just heard like a whoo yeah I hear it a little bit on my end I don't hear it in yours yeah I definitely I hear mine I and the only thing that I heard of yours was just that creak but yeah it was like the whole sunroom shook oh my god um all right so I'm just gonna and then he gets kicked out that's it but we do right um yeah so do you remember what happens there because I think I do yeah yeah Detective Amiri goes back to Nick and Sophie's house and uh she he's asking her a lot of questions and you know she just kind of pushes him away and and is like no that's like that's not who Nick is right so I'm like paraphrasing but then at one point I forgot what he asks he tells her whatever or no he he asks her something about like do you fight or do you have arguments it's like some stupid question that like and so her response was well are you married and he says yes but like reluctantly yes so Detective Amiri is married okay uh at some point in the episode when Detective Amiri was speaking with Pia she mentioned to him that the last time not the last time but um he went to her job for him for her to check him out because um he had bruises and we learned that that was the day after her birthday which was March 15th so just in case you want to keep that date in mind but um yeah I I wrote that down too I wrote March 16th just so that's why yes just so that's why we can get an idea of like some kind of timeline where things are going on. You don't know if like maybe like the weather months have to do well it's California they have one season but anyway continue.
SPEAKER_00So he he didn't tell her what happened but he said um that he got hurt at work like silly whatever and that but not to mention it to Sophie he uses the app on Nick's foot on their phones to find the friend and he goes back to that date and figures out that Nick is at a bar and when he gets to the bar he's able to see security and the security shows him fighting with the guy and we don't know who the guy is but hold that thought then the geo nicking thing starts just alert them that the body is found so they all rush over to this well they all they Pia and Amiri rush over to the scene and you know all you have is people saying found I you know found him found him and there's a huge crowd but it's just a blow up doll with like a picture next face on it.
SPEAKER_01Yeah and Pia goes through all the emotions and like you really witness her going through all the emotions which honestly right after that scene I was like I really don't think she has anything to do with this I think she's just her emotions are a casualty but I don't think she had any involvement in his um disappearance. Yeah so anyway Amari like helps her to get into his car again because he drives her there he calms her down like they they pull over like because they're in like the port of Oakland so they pull over a different location you can still see they're by the water but they're sitting in his car and they were just like talking he was calming her down and then he drives Pia back to her apartment and as she's walking up into her apartment Matt is there like just waiting for her and Amari looks upset as he's watching Pia and Matt walk into Pia's apartment actually wait a minute is this is this when he looks at Sophie's socials or does he look at them again because he's looking at the socials and he recognizes somebody that Sophie is in a picture with from the back of the sweater and he recognizes the pattern as the same guy from the bar I think that's where I stopped taking like such okay because I know that that's like the towards the end of the episode we still have like a lot to go like no no no we see we see Amari at the mosque again and that's where we meet his wife yeah she was there to pick up like her new baby boyfriend whatever and she ran into her baby daddy so like he was married he's not still married and he has a kid yeah well I don't know if they're still married or not but they're not together yeah and so yeah he has a little kid um yeah so his his ex her name's Sasha and she was like we're waiting for Pocky which is like I I thought it was important enough that they mentioned his name um that the new guy that um sasha's seeing and the fact that she's like oh and you know like pick up your son at this time and immediately after it was so heartbreaking like you see Amari go back to his place sorry I have Ruby on my lap she did a little yawn she went I haven't seen her all day she's been sleeping um you see Amari go back to his apartment and it was heartbreaking like you see him eating like a bowl cereal in the middle of the night in his son's room which is empty it was just it was sad. Like it it just like made me build emotion for the character and that's also when we find out that the story is taking place in April and that's because of the fact that the next day Amari goes to I keep calling him Amari Amiri goes to the rogue bar which is the last location where Nick was on May not May March 16th and so you see the day that he's going there and you see it's like April something and so it just kind of shocked me that it was only a month ago that Nick went in but like Bruce was on his ribs and he asked Pia for help. So this is all very like his his troubles are all very recent it's nothing that was building up over time. Detective Amiri goes to his lady boss and right does he go to her or does he tell the the other homicide guy that he convinces like he shows in the geonicking app and he basically convinces them of an area to search that nobody searched before he's like it's very hard to get to blush is very hard to get to and it would be really inconvenient for someone to go there which is the perfect place for dumping a body so the head of homicide was like look like if we go and nothing's there it's on you and then like conniving detective Amiri is like oh what does this mean for me if something is there so like he's just like his attitude towards it was but anyway so they're there they're looking near the area and Amari of course goes off on his own because he's not a team player and I mean like did he watch Scooby-Doo at all?
SPEAKER_00Like come on apparently not I mean but I'm surprised his ass doesn't get killed but anyway it's only episode two um yeah but so as they get closer to the water they find Nick's body and unfortunately he is no longer alive but through the magic of TV we still get to see his character through flashbacks so yeah it looked like there was like a bullet wound what happened I said so he still gets paid through the union oh yeah he knows how many other his revival just to you know smoke another punk with Pia. Yeah but then actually speaking of Pia Amiri has to go tell Pia and it's actually a really tough scene because he shows up at her door and he you know he breaks the news and she just like throws him out and breaks down. And it's rough because it seems like he was genuinely heartbroken to have to tell her that you know and and not just because his case but I think he he truly wanted to find him alive for her.
SPEAKER_01Um but with that being said then you feel her grief because she's just she literally just drops to the floor and is herself while she's yeah it's it's a little rough you know even Amari like you see him with his back turned to the apartment like Pia I wouldn't say Pia slammed the door she just she she closed the door with emotion and yeah he just like you could see there's tears in his eyes you see him at home like in the shower and then at work and he's just looking so upset but as he's walking into work everybody starts clapping for him and he gets welcomed to the homicide team he gets that he gets that um right what's it called like that promotion promotion yeah he gets the promotion to homicide like he always wanted yeah yeah and I think actually it's the very end where we see that he finds the picture but whatever our drunk brains already told you that so he's looking through the iPad again and he notices that like the like the part of the did we even talk about the video that he got from the rogue bar that like he pulled the whole like hard drive and he brought it into his office to pull up the video clip of Nick getting the shit beat out of him that's guys. Well anyway guys that happened and the guy in the video you only see like the back of his back of him yeah and so then at the end you see like there's a picture of this man like looking at Sophie but it I mean like her face was I don't know like indifferent I guess like it just looked like she was just looking at somebody she knew not like that she was scared or like really happy just like but the fact that like there was a photo of her with this guy right and Amiri realizes like oh my god it's the same person I thought it was her brother it could just be like a family member maybe a neighbor but I have a feeling it's family like direct family and so I wonder why Nick was getting his ass kicked okay which now makes me think oh okay continue I'm talking way too much no no no it's this is awesome all right so I just I'm just gonna go like a little bit over my notes um in this episode they address the Pia Amiri wannabe Tinder and so that finally gets addressed the detectives get revenge on Amiri by posting his um Tinder wannabe photos and the voicemail finally comes out so now it's public they find the crime scenes they find where he was taken from his bike they find him Miri is married and he's got a kid we talked about the whole like geo nicking subplot we and before we talk about the video man and whatever else you have they also made a quick mention about childhood trauma oh Ruby she she only yawns like that when she's super happy so she's like a cat um sorry but yeah so they don't say what it is but they just allude that something happened in their childhood so that's another little nugget that's when Pia was saying that um on like March like 16th um Nick came to her job and went to ask like for help because it was like he had bruising around his ribs um and she said like Nick went through some stuff when we were little he was really angry or not when we were really little when we were little and then he she was like but then he married Sophie and he got his shit together. I think she literally said those words. So it makes you think that like when she said when we were little it just made me think of like I think they're like in their like 30s maybe Nick's in like his late 30s early 40s like they're they're not old at all and so like I'm thinking that maybe she just meant like within the well if it's the mother's or like 50th birthday right because it was her 50th yeah that's sure they have to be in like their 30s so actually that math really doesn't add up no because he has like a teenage he's a teenager like would they all have kids at 12 maybe yeah maybe I'm unless those are not his kids oh don't do those oh come on sorry um so I don't know if she's if she's 50 then he has to be let let's just be generous right and say like even if she had him at 18 that still makes him 32 I was gonna say if she had him at 15 he's 35.
SPEAKER_00And if he had even okay but that's not supposed to be you know a quote unquote respectable family yeah um I guess you see that fancy lady having a kid at 14 I'm that's what I'm saying I'm trying to be like PC I guess so if he had him at 32 then I mean if she had him and then if he had like 14. Right so it would be just like just cutting it because if Ethan is 14 that means he had him when he was 18 is it a spoiler if I look up um don't look it up how old Nick is no it's not that serious. Don't look it up you never know also what you might see yeah that's true but this was a fun theory she's like child bride or whatever but um so yeah that was um that was my list and then also the mystery video man mystery video man um I'm gonna have to say I have no clue what you're talking about.
SPEAKER_01So who's the video guy who are we talking about the guy from the bar video oh possibly Sophie's brother well I just said mystery video man so okay so mystery video bar man to me he's just possibly Sophie's brother or cousin or neighbor I don't know the way they were like why would a picture of him be on her profile if they weren't like related like she's married like why would she have like I don't know I I don't know I really don't know I'm just excited that I get to watch episode three times because like there was uh I mean I it's not even like it was necessarily a cliffhanger because it's not even it's not like last episode where they're finding like the place that he's abducted in like now we know he's dead and I also made a note about um the like the whole like uh detective and Miri like turning him over and seeing his eyes like all glossed and stuff like you see like a bullet wound on the back of his neck so like obviously he's dead but yeah like usually I'm like afraid of that shit and so what I'll do is that I'll just kind of like pause it and then go through the frames to like get through the scene. Okay yeah but like and I don't know like I wasn't even scared like when I was watching this and I guess because it's just not portrayed scary it's just a straight like mystery like you see his body just laying there on the rocks too thank you Ruby you see his body just laying there on the rocks too and it's not even like like I was just surprised that I wasn't spooked or like upset or anything.
SPEAKER_00I was just I was indifferent in that moment and I was just like okay debati right like oh look it's him oh look there there it is it's like when you drive through Lincoln Park on a rainy day because you know you were there I felt like but what do I know about that you didn't know about that because you did that shit we did that shit like three years ago already oh my god it was a rainy day in Baltimore it wasn't like we could go out so we took a drive oh my god it was so rainy that like your window wiper blew off we were driving on the highway back to New York and I changed that shit by myself because my passengers were too busy looking at I don't know whatever the equivalent three year ago TikTok was so who knows what the fuck they were doing story I not being helpful I don't know how we got there I don't know I don't know but um it doesn't matter that was just fun it was it was it's a core memory yeah the tiki bar was fun yeah yeah like um I was looking at the picture before and actually wait so I didn't even really put this together right but in the tiki bar there was the Dharma logo in a sticker remember how they had like some like stickers or stuff I have a picture in my phone I can show you and it had like the Dharma logo and the numbers and I remember taking a picture of it And thinking, damn, I haven't watched Lost in so long, I should do a rewatch. And I I think that that was like the catalyst when I was talking to Agnes. And you know, and it kind of just stemmed from there because it was that was what March that we were there? April 25th, 2019. Oh, April. And so in the summer, like May-ish through June is when we kind of like really solidified the idea because I went out there and it was it was the end of June when I went out there because I had to wait for um, you know, school. But um yeah, and so when I went out there in the end of June, that's when we recorded the promo for Sassin Sips. Oh, so it was like two months after the Baltimore trip.
SPEAKER_01That's so crazy how like it all connected because like I hadn't seen Moss at all. I I did not finish Lost. So when you're saying this, I'm just like, what is she talking about? Like I have one picture and it's like the waiter or the bartender took it up, the four of us, and that's it. Like, I I wouldn't notice something like that because I hadn't like watched it.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, you hadn't seen it. Um, yeah, I'm gonna find the picture, I'm gonna send it to you. But um, but yeah, so maybe we should get that to clickbait. Yes, Baltimore. I'm done with Baltimore bitches. No, um so do you have any other notes or anything that you caught?
SPEAKER_01Um, just besides the fact that I think that's Sophie's brother. That I and I think this is what I was saying that there wasn't even necessarily like a cliffhanger, but the show really did reel you in in this episode. You were right about that.
SPEAKER_00I'm glad that you enjoyed it. And I also, I mean, I like being right too, but I'm glad that you enjoyed it.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, yeah. I'm I'm really looking forward to watching the next episode. I mean, like, again, and I think this is where I started. Like, there's there's no cliffhanger for Nick. We know he's dead, we just don't know like who did it. And so this is like the second part of like his disappearance. Like, okay, we found him, but what happened? Like, he's not around to tell us what happened, obviously. So now it's trying to figure out who. Um, I think characters from the first episode will make a reappearance in our next episode and they'll actually talk this time. Um or maybe they won't just be blurry in the background. So I really think um we're gonna see a lot of stuff from his job. Oh, I see it now. Okay, you see it, yeah. Yeah, yeah, I got the the picture. Um yeah, I I think I I don't even know what the next episode's called, but I wouldn't be surprised if it was around Matt. If it was around who? Matt. That's his reminder.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. The next episode is called The Wife.
SPEAKER_01Wait, hold on. Is it called The Wife or is it called something else? Because I'm thinking about the episode title that I did see. The wife. Okay. I think I was thinking about another because I know one episode title because I think I accidentally like saw I'm trying not to look at the title. Yeah, no, it's but the wife. So now it's gonna be based around Sophie. So I wonder if anybody from her job is involved, like any teachers or any administration or anything. Um and it I mean, like that's great because the fact that I think that um that's Sophie's brother or family member in the video. Um hopefully we'll get to actually meet that character too, being that we're looking into her life, yeah. And I wonder if we'll learn a little bit more about Ethan too. He was, and I this is what we didn't touch upon. Also, he was messaging that like AL 2005 um screen name again. Yeah, yeah. Or like Handle or whatever. He was he was messaging, or they were messaging him, like, did you hear anything? He was like, No, and they were like, Well, let us know, or let me know. So maybe being that this episode is focused on Sophie, we'll see a little bit more into the kids too, and we'll maybe find out a little bit more about that um that random person texting Ethan. But besides that, I I think I'm good. I just that's my main thing. I I really think this is a family member to Sophie, and I feel like we'll really hear about them in this episode. And I I can't wait to find out. I I hope I'm this motivated to watch episode four as I am episode three, and I'm sure I will be.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I'm um I'm excited to continue. I think that your insights have been really interesting, and like you're you're definitely watching with your eyes open. But if and I'm gonna tell you again, if you have the time, because I get it if you don't, but if you have the time, just watch it first to like you know, watch it like with your popcorn or whatever, and and then take notes a second time, just so that plus then you'll figure out like what what is important or maybe something that then makes sense in hindsight, and you can maybe look for something that you wouldn't have looked for the first time, yeah. Like you know what I mean. I can find more of Ellie's handwriting somewhere, yeah, yeah, yeah. But you know, just if you can.
SPEAKER_01I know it's you know so yeah, but uh do you have anything to add about this episode, Lisa?
SPEAKER_02I don't uh do not yeah, okay.
SPEAKER_01So forgive me, how do we close this ship? I left my comments, you left yours.
