SPEAKER_04

I would totally listen to that because I'm sure that we've said things that were wrong.

SPEAKER_02

No, it's it's really good actually. It's good. It's interesting because I listened. It is to listen to you trying not to tell her things. And it's just what she told me. I just I just listened, uh, I think I listened yesterday, maybe. And uh it is, it's interesting. It's cause I know too. And she's saying stuff and guessing stuff like we were 10 years ago. It's so funny.

SPEAKER_04

Hi, and welcome to this mini episode of Sassin Sips, where we are going to discuss a listener favorite moment. We are your hosts. I'm Lisa. And I'm Agnes. And we have a special guest with us today. Jamar, would you like to introduce yourself?

SPEAKER_02

Yes, yes, I would. Uh hi. My name is Jamar Jamar Duran. I am the host of the Look to the Cookie Podcast. And I am also an avid Lost fan, old school. Back in the day, I've seen the entire series like four times. So I'm excited to do this thing.

SPEAKER_04

Yes, we are we are happy to have you. Thank you for being with us.

SPEAKER_03

Thank you for dealing with us. But okay. Okay.

SPEAKER_04

So he has an idea. He's gonna do a podcast about our podcast and just point out all of the things that we fuck up on.

SPEAKER_03

That sounds like you you have a very busy podcast. You get a lot, you got a you have tons of information to to work with.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, I have to apologize too because it's gonna be really hard for me not to spoil the entire series. So I'm just apologizing. Uh it's just so many parts, like with the aliens. I can't. Oh, I just I'm so sorry. It's gonna happen. I'm sorry. I'm apologizing.

SPEAKER_03

You know, the way I feel about the show thus far, okay. You can spoil it for me. Lisa won't might not like that though.

SPEAKER_04

I'm gonna I'm gonna have to put my um my mouse hovering on his mute button.

SPEAKER_02

Wait, do you not like the show?

SPEAKER_03

I am not, I mean, I don't hate it.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, I can't.

SPEAKER_03

But I'm not in it.

SPEAKER_02

I listened to the last episode. I was very disappointed. I was like, I don't even think she likes it.

SPEAKER_04

I know, right? I mean, I don't I will never understand.

SPEAKER_02

Interesting.

SPEAKER_03

Sorry.

SPEAKER_02

Uh are you gonna kick me off the club now? Um, well, she would since you were like late, quote unquote, she already fired you and hired me. Uh that's what happened. I don't did you I thought she texted you.

SPEAKER_03

I support that message. I'm okay with that.

SPEAKER_02

She really hates this show.

SPEAKER_04

So, what moment from the first season stood out to you enough to want to put up with us today?

SPEAKER_02

So, my moment from the first season, and actually it may be my favorite moment, maybe in the history of television, something that I never forget, I think about all the time, is the bearded man on the raft, and he says, We're gonna have to take the boy. It like haunted me. The scariest thing, I had no idea what was going on, and I and I pause and look just like Michael and Walt, like, what'd you say? And he goes, The boy. What are you talking about? We're gonna need the boy. So, like everybody in the world, immediately you think about like weird child exploitation things, like what are they doing? So it terrified me. Like, why are they getting this boy? Like, what are you talking about? Like, you don't want the men or money, or what's going on? He's got that creepy beard. I'm sorry, maybe I'm going too far. Let me let me stop, slow down.

SPEAKER_03

Uh we have the what the fuck faces.

SPEAKER_02

I can see you, it makes me feel really bad. Like, wait, is that what's that's just me? It's not like we're gonna have to take the boy.

SPEAKER_04

Child exploitation, I don't think has ever come into my mind.

SPEAKER_02

Wow, what did you think? They were gonna like go play tic-tac-toe or something.

SPEAKER_03

Well, considering like 600 episodes prior, like Walt was special. You know, so you know there was something going on, Walt, and it wasn't child exploits. Yeah, that didn't come into my mind.

SPEAKER_04

Although, although officially Agnes hasn't seen, so maybe that is what they want him for. Wing Wink.

SPEAKER_03

I mean, technically speaking, I'm like fine. And I have no I have no comeback. Shutting up.

SPEAKER_04

No, but uh yeah, that that moment was like it was just like this happy moment where you think, oh, and they're like, oh, we survived the planes, plane crash, and he's like, well, ain't that something? But here's the thing, and the whole scene just comes crashing to the to like what the fuck.

SPEAKER_02

Exactly. Before that, they like are getting out in the rap, they're playing that music like they're gonna be saved, you know, the boat's going away, there's you know, the little radar thing, and then it's coming back, and they're like, Oh, it's coming back. They're all excited and stuff. Uh Sawyer has his gun, so he thinks, you know, if these are creeps, I'm gonna take him out. It does not go that way at all. Uh so I think before, well, background, because you made me realize why I felt it was creepy and nobody else did. Here we go. I actually did not watch Lost from the Beginning. When it first started, I think might have been 2005. I thought it was gonna be a really good show. People were saying, Yeah, we already saw this, it's like Gilligan's Island. I was like, this is clearly not like Gilligan's Island, but that's what people thought. And I was like, I want to see that show, but I'm in school, I'm busy, I don't have the I don't have time to watch TV. So I only saw the season finale. I had not seen anything before that. I just tuned in for the season finale. So this is my first time seeing the show, and I was hooked, and that was my first big moment of like, what the hell is going on in this show? And uh that's where I started.

SPEAKER_03

That kind of makes sense now.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, yeah, yeah. So I didn't know what was special until like years later. If you were still on the show or whatever, I don't know.

SPEAKER_03

So with that mouse, Lisa.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah. How long after you saw this episode did you see the rest of the first season?

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, I had to think about that for a while. I think it was 2010 when I saw the rest of the first season.

SPEAKER_04

Oh, damn.

SPEAKER_02

So I was like through maybe season four before I saw season one.

SPEAKER_04

Holy sh.

SPEAKER_02

And it was amazing to watch it that way, though. Like when I went back and saw season one, I was like, oh my god.

SPEAKER_03

To be fair, I don't think like I think there was TiVo back then, but it still wasn't as easy to stream and go back. And like if you missed the episode, you kind of just you you missed it.

SPEAKER_02

Well, here's the deal. My uh girlfriend at the time actually had it on DVD, and I just didn't watch it because I just I'm one of those people like I'm I'm moving on now. I'm on season two. So and she made me watch it actually, and I went back and oh, it seems to spoil this stuff that I can't say. What I can say without spoiling anything is that there are things that that happened later that you don't even know had happened already because I didn't see it, and you're gonna be like, Oh, this is oh, that's what owl. So it was a lot of that, and it was really cool. I but I can't tell you because it tells you things.

SPEAKER_03

Okay, Lisa has been doing this to me for weeks now, months now. Like, remember the scene. I'm like, I'm gonna remember the scene what four seasons ago, but okay, I'll try.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, lost nerve. I'm not very good at that, actually. I'm better at the big picture. I never remember like little details. Like, remember he had on that watch, and you're like, what?

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, like the um the episode where Claire goes to see the psychic in the first season, and at the beginning, Locke is in the jungle and he's got the tarot cards and the same lamp as the psychic. And I'm like, who the fuck noticed this shit? Like remember, but it was because I read it on the wiki. You bought yeah, yes, and I was like, I never even noticed it, you know. Like some some people notice things, and I I give them a lot of credit because I don't know how they do it.

SPEAKER_03

I'm pretty sure that some of these things are just reused props, and then like 10 years later, people be like, Well, look, there's a connection there. No, they just reuse the same props, it's not that serious. I have all the answers, and I will not spoil it, but I I can definitely tell you everything. Oh my god, you're killing me. So you could definitely come back every so often and just like dig the knife deeper.

SPEAKER_02

I listened to the last episode, and on the last episode, I I won't say it, but you said something, and I was like, the writer.

SPEAKER_04

Wait, wait, wait. Wait, was it Deis or was it numbers?

SPEAKER_02

Yes, it was Deis, yeah.

SPEAKER_04

Well, what part was it? Don't you don't have to say what was wrong, just say what part, because now I'm curious. Uh I can't.

SPEAKER_02

It's it's basically like what we were just talking about. Like, what does this mean? Why would the writers do this? Why did they think that? What it was something like that. And I I know exactly what the answer is.

SPEAKER_03

Go back and listen to the podcast. Well, I should not go back. I might actually go and listen to it now. Yeah, she refuses to listen.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, you one of those. Okay.

SPEAKER_03

I hate the sound of my voice with the deep-seated passion. So if I was to listen to it, I would never record again.

SPEAKER_02

Well, I I was that way, and it took me, I had to get over it. I was like, dude, you do this now all the time. You gotta just love this ugly voice.

SPEAKER_03

That's what I got Lisa here for. She's the producer and the writer.

SPEAKER_02

Did you know that Lisa was uh Japanese American and uh French Canadian? We talked about that before the show started.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, apparently. Ha! I've I've noticed that she was I've known it since we were eight, and I kind of missed that part, Lisa. My feelings are hurt.

SPEAKER_04

Well, so he um to your yeah, so he was guessing my nationality. Apparently, I'm Japanese, American, and French Canadian. It's news to me too, so that's oh, oh, I was wrong.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, never mind. I'm so sorry. Oh, so close. Oh, so close. Oh close. Okay. All right, anyway. I'm sorry, I'm taking your show down another.

SPEAKER_04

No, no, no, no. This is fun. This is fun.

SPEAKER_02

I don't think it goes down any lower than what we brought it down to.

SPEAKER_04

It's it's a very loose format.

SPEAKER_02

Do we continue talking about the moment, or do you want to talk about the episode, or what do you want to talk about?

SPEAKER_04

We can talk about anything. We haven't we actually haven't recorded for this episode yet.

SPEAKER_03

The three seasons, the three episode season finale. We didn't record yet.

SPEAKER_04

We were okay, yeah. We were actually supposed to record it today with another guest, aka my husband, but then he went and drove to Florida. So interesting. Very interesting. Does he know about the apocalypse? I think he might have heard. I'm not sure.

SPEAKER_02

Okay, cool, cool, cool.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, so we um so we were we watched the episode, so she knows the episode. Um we just haven't recorded it yet, that's all.

SPEAKER_02

Well, then I have questions for Agnes, is what the screen says. Uh what what is your guess? What are your thoughts about my creepy bearded perverted man? Like, who is he? Why is he there? Why is he taking the boy? And uh is it all connected? What's going on?

SPEAKER_03

I mean, he's obviously one of the others.

SPEAKER_02

Um, you think the others exist? Okay, continue.

SPEAKER_03

I mean, okay, you know what?

SPEAKER_04

Oh, you guys go ahead.

SPEAKER_03

Um I'm good. I'm so upset that I was late because I didn't get a chance to go downstairs and get my wine. So that's I need my wine now. Thank you. Okay, so um, I think there's some I think there's something, I don't know, supernatural or a combination of Danielle losing her mind and actually hearing things. But she's heard people say, she heard the other say, We want the boy, we want the boy, and then boom, two scenes later, they grab the boy. Um, how do you know that she wasn't in on it? Oh, I hate you and I hate Jamar. I hate you both.

SPEAKER_02

This is fun.

SPEAKER_03

I hate you both. I see I see a pattern in the future. My interest has gone from 96 down to 95. Keep it up.

SPEAKER_04

Um But I love you.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. But it's all okay. So, I mean, she Claire was kidnapped for her baby, so it's obviously something to do with children. I don't know. Walt that you're gonna have to get the camera fixed by the time we get this next go around. I won't go. I'm just listening.

SPEAKER_04

That's a logical explanation, at least. I mean, that makes more sense than child exploitation. I mean, thank you.

SPEAKER_02

Or she's just leading you away from the truth, which we'll whatever, it's fine.

SPEAKER_04

Or that. Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

I don't know how to talk about this with somebody who's never seen it. I just want to tell you everything. Let me I'll just call you later. Just do that. Yeah, do that. Call me. I can't take it. No, this is good. It's that's very cool. So there's others, and I haven't watched this first season either in uh ten years or no, seven years. So I don't even remember it that much. Uh oh. In this last episode, they also had the dynamite and they're trying to like get into the hatch thing, right? Is that in this episode? Yes. Or am I talking about season two?

SPEAKER_03

No, this is the one.

SPEAKER_02

Uh do you think they're getting in and what's in there?

SPEAKER_03

Well, in case you understand, refresh your memory, they actually opened it, and you see the staircase leading down to um what's down there? I don't a lab, a scientific lab that they built. I don't know.

SPEAKER_02

So you think maybe what what are the odds of like the others are in there hanging out, you know, smoking weed? I don't know. What do you think? I don't know what they're doing in there.

SPEAKER_03

Having a drink. You know what? I didn't even think about it. Oh, I think losses got me so fucked up. I'm like, I I I'll I'll find out when I see the next season. I uh I give up trying to figure out things.

SPEAKER_02

Sorry, you probably talked about all this stuff, but I'm not usually on the podcast, so this is interesting to me.

SPEAKER_04

No, we have we not not just yet. Not just yet.

SPEAKER_02

Okay. What about the the smoke monster? Maybe the smoke monster's in there. What did what is the deal with that thing? It's like black and it's what is that?

SPEAKER_03

Well, the smoke was from the bonfire, and then the monster. Oh, oh right, right, right, wait, wait, wait. I don't remember now. Uh they do the the the dynamite down, I think I went to a poof of smoke. Um, yeah, didn't think about that one either. I knew I was like, okay. You just interested no, it's not that I'm not interested, but there's just so many possible I was like, I can't, uh my brain only has so many different functions, and this is yeah, I was like, let's focus on what let's focus on these characters and I'll keep the smoke monster in the back of my head. But I don't know, but I'm pretty good with big once I digest it, I'm pretty good at digesting outlandish. She has good instincts. There's a lot of- Well, I know, I've listened. I can't I just don't want to say anything.

SPEAKER_02

I've listened. Yeah, no, no, no, okay.

SPEAKER_04

There's some some episodes that we record, and I'll and I'll try to prod her. And I'm waiting for her to say something like really outlandish or logical almost, and she'll say something completely opposite, but totally on the right track.

SPEAKER_02

And I'm like, Oh, I know.

SPEAKER_04

What the fuck? Like, how did you know that? But I can't let on that she's right. There you go.

SPEAKER_02

Okay, yeah, I get that. I get that. I've been like that with other shows, not with this one, but with other shows, though.

SPEAKER_03

Right. This one, this show has pretty much, you know, I'm a little weary. I'm not I'm not confident of my skills with this show because you're just like, what the fuck? But um, and then you over here, like, hmm, interesting. You're really fucking with my head.

SPEAKER_02

I don't want you to guess the show.

SPEAKER_03

I mean, I could definitely be like just go through Wikipedia and just read all the episodes.

SPEAKER_02

You could do that.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, you'll have everything in a minute.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, I haven't.

SPEAKER_03

Uh I've been a good girl.

SPEAKER_02

So at the end of this uh episode, yeah, I know, right? Maybe she knows everything already. And we're both the fools.

SPEAKER_04

No, sometimes I really think so because I'm like, wait, have you watched a head? She's like, no, I'm like, okay. She told you.

SPEAKER_02

I can barely watch what I have to watch. Now I might watch ahead. I'm like, oh, another website. Oh, that's fair because you probably like live and do other things too. You can't just like watch lost all day, every day, and study.

SPEAKER_04

Yes, let's go with that. Do you want to let him in on your secret?

SPEAKER_02

Uh-oh.

SPEAKER_04

What secret? Which one? I have your busy life.

SPEAKER_03

My real oh, you mean my real name? Oh, okay. I thought you already know my real name or something. No, no. No, I mean it's it's no, I don't have a life. I I don't have a life. I am retired, I am on disability, and I have tons of time to watch TV, unfortunately. I'm just not that into Lost. Could you stop saying that?

SPEAKER_05

Does it break your heart and does lines?

SPEAKER_02

I don't know. Well, I'll hold, I'll tell you this though, which kind of sucks. This first season was only good to me because I watched it after other stuff. I don't think it's the best season at all. Not only is it not the best season, but the show becomes so different. It's not the same show.

SPEAKER_03

In that case, we have hope. I don't believe you.

SPEAKER_02

Oh yeah, oh yeah. Legit, it's a totally different show.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, the first season doesn't even pick up until like the second half.

SPEAKER_02

And then speaking, right?

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, well, yeah, they there's a lot of foundation to lay. And then once you get to the second season, it it just it goes. I mean, there's a few episodes here and there that are, but you know, I think that once you get to the second season, it it definitely picks up. And it and like I said, it it kind of turns into a different show.

SPEAKER_03

Okay then. All right. I just have one disclaimer. If anything happens to Vincent other than old age, I'm I'm gonna stop. I'm done. I ain't watching anymore. Don't worry about Vincent.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, that's a better way to say what out than what I was gonna say. I was gonna blow it. You're good at this. She she's been trained.

SPEAKER_04

Okay, so what about what about when Vincent was um swimming to the raft? Okay, that killed me. I think oh he missed it.

SPEAKER_03

That killed me. I was ugly crying.

SPEAKER_04

I was like, ah oh my gosh, you had emotion. That's a wrong finger. Oh this one?

SPEAKER_02

Wait, what this one's better.

SPEAKER_04

Oh, it was a right finger.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, what figure did she want?

SPEAKER_04

I don't know.

SPEAKER_02

It just she's looking for a thumbs up.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, maybe. It was the angle, I guess. I didn't see uh-huh. I don't know. Maybe I have to have the glasses off.

SPEAKER_02

Um, in this episode, the um at the end, back to my dude on the boat, they shoot Sawyer. It looks like they might have even shot him twice. Uh he goes into the ocean. Uh, what's his name? Michael goes into the ocean. I guess Jin goes into the ocean.

SPEAKER_04

We don't even know where Jen went.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, I don't yeah, I don't think we saw it. But then they burned the raft. Uh or they set it on fire or whatever. Yeah. Soft cocktail. What happens to the the other men? We know where Walt's gone, but or kind of.

SPEAKER_03

Uh I think one, I think they're pretty, I think they're closer to the island that they that they think. And by I don't know, by midway of season two, episode one, they're gonna end up back on the island. No way. He said they were 15 miles out in water. That's the ocean. Yeah, at least right. But that they said that during the daytime, right? Right. You think they circle back?

SPEAKER_04

Okay, so you want to know something? I'm gonna flip at your head right now.

SPEAKER_03

No, no, all right. Um fuck am I having to watch the next season all in one day? Keep it up. Oh, is that a challenge?

SPEAKER_04

Or a challenge, like an imitation? Like, what are we doing here?

SPEAKER_03

Well, you know, are we a threat because you don't want me to watch ahead? Then everything's gonna be all fucked up.

SPEAKER_04

Well, then we could do spoiler chat.

SPEAKER_02

You're gonna do spoiler chat from a show from 10 years ago?

SPEAKER_04

Relatively. I mean, listen, there's a whole new generation of people who haven't seen this.

SPEAKER_02

I know that I try to get people into it just so I have other people talk about it with yeah.

SPEAKER_04

Uh um from doing the podcast, I've gotten two people into the show. They were like, I never watched that show. I was like, really? They're like, Yeah, maybe I'll check it out. Okay, oh my god, this is so good. How did I never watch it? Basically, the response that I get from everyone but Agnes. This is what makes this what makes that podcast so interesting. Interesting. Trying to convince you every week.

SPEAKER_03

I mean, if we both totally love the show, how interesting would our podcast be? I think it would be awesome.

SPEAKER_02

Well, Agnes, what are your favorite shows if you don't like the greatest show of all time?

SPEAKER_03

Oh, well, you want to know about recent shows? You want to talk about shows? I know.

SPEAKER_02

I'm gonna ignore that little I'm gonna ignore the shade. Um I would say the last 20 years. Whatever. Oh sh shit.

SPEAKER_03

That's a lot of TV. It is. My god. Oh, I oh, I okay.

SPEAKER_04

Let's break it down. Yeah, how much a favorite drama?

SPEAKER_03

Um, I was a scandal. Oh, House of Cards.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, okay. All right.

SPEAKER_03

House of Cards. Yeah.

unknown

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Did you watch the last season?

SPEAKER_03

I did because I was die hard for it, but I watched it just to finish it out.

SPEAKER_02

It was still bad. I couldn't still bad.

SPEAKER_03

I just I had to do it because you know you you you've come I've committed all this time to it. I just have to see how to end it. If it wasn't gonna be the series finale, like the end of the series, I probably would never have watched it. But I'm like, okay, I gotta see how it ends. I gotta see if they just lay it to bed.

SPEAKER_02

Maybe I'll try again. I don't I don't know.

SPEAKER_03

But yeah, Claire, was that her name? Claire. Thank you, was my um favorite character in the whole show.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, she's a good character.

SPEAKER_03

She was awesome. My favorite part on that, I think the whole series was when the wife of one of the candidates asked her if she um regretted not having children. And she goes, Do you regret having them? I was like, Yes! Like I was like, shut her down. Oh yeah, okay, so and I think that was for the drama. That's probably my favorite drama. I think that's sitcoms. I don't watch sitcoms anymore. Um I'm I'm the drama girl now. Um stop. Let me oh wait, for 20 years? That's easy. 20 years will and grace. That's I'm I'm die hard with and grace. When I had an employee, he was my jack to my Karen, and we bumped bellies. Um, yeah. And then and also, yeah, and then all my I have all my gay husbands because straight men don't love me anymore. Um, so yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Wow.

SPEAKER_03

I can't so yeah, well and Grace.

SPEAKER_02

Okay, yeah, that's got one of my favorite scenes. I'm Grace Adler. I design. That's one of my favorite things in TV. Google it. This is Grace C. I'm sorry, I did that again. All right, let's back to the show. What kind of lost things do you do?

SPEAKER_04

Okay, no, wait, wait, wait. No, let's let's talk about your favorite shows. Me?

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, putting me on the spot. Oh, I just wanted to know because there's this one great show, and you're like, oh I was just curious. But those are good shows. Okay, it's good. Okay, I just want to make sure you weren't one of those people that dislikes really popular things.

SPEAKER_03

No, no, no. I like popular things, I like unpopular things. I like what I like. All right, I'm special that way.

SPEAKER_02

This isn't video, though. No, it's not video. You don't you don't put up the video, okay?

SPEAKER_04

We um we actually have them, some of them on YouTube, but they're private except to the top Patreon subscribers.

SPEAKER_01

Oh.

SPEAKER_04

So it's your call. I mean, we can put it up there publicly or not. If you want it public, like especially um that you have your own show, we can do that.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, for me, for this show.

SPEAKER_03

We can make it public so you can share it on your show.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, yeah, yeah, I'll share it all. You know, whatever you want me to share.

SPEAKER_03

I can see okay. So we have a really bad habit. Um, go ahead. We take things and twist it and sexual windows, so yeah, you didn't you didn't listen to the that's what she said episode.

SPEAKER_02

Actually, I didn't, but uh you referenced it in the last episode I listened to, so I totally get it. It was a lot of stuff. Yeah, I heard it.

SPEAKER_04

You can um you can get a picture and just put like a profile picture on your Zoom because nowadays, like with everybody's social distancing, um, all of my online meetings are on Zoom, and so people just have profile pictures if they don't want to put their video on.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, yeah, I was thinking that I need to figure that out. I'll do that.

SPEAKER_03

Um, totally out there. Go back to other questions. My favorite show right now billions. Billions.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, I have not watched it, but everybody talks about it.

SPEAKER_03

It's fucking awesome. It's fucking awesome because Lisa, like axe, like one of the he is like this type, a money guy, and is so sexy. It's just he just he exudes sex. Oh, sexy guy, I gotta watch it.

SPEAKER_05

I gotta turn it on right now.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, and then the the the other guy's wife is a shrink that works for Axe, and she is like not give a no fucks giving like sexy back. Like it's all but yeah. Okay, no, but his name is Axelrod. So they call him Axe, like his bigger. Really? His name is Axelrod? No, like the last name is Axelrod. Oh, okay.

SPEAKER_02

The last name is Axelrod. I get hired, okay. I was like, what?

SPEAKER_03

Okay, back to the damn plane.

SPEAKER_04

As somebody else who's into this show, whose favorite moment is in season one, any words of wisdom or advice that you would give to Agnes going forward?

SPEAKER_02

Oh, yeah, that's a question for me. So, uh I would say keep an open mind. Stick with it. Each season brings something uh new and special, and you just don't know which season might be your favorite.

SPEAKER_03

Okay.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

I'm looking forward to being surprised. I really do want to like the show. I really do, and I don't hate it. Well, that's good. Don't hate it.

SPEAKER_02

I'll tell you, my favorite season is season four. So, like, season two was good. It got me into it. Season three, I actually did not like, but a lot of people do. But season three, I was like, eh, boo. And in season four, I was like, oh, oh boy, oh wow. So I would say, and it was worth it. From that point on, it was they were guns blazing.

SPEAKER_04

So I I feel like the different seasons kind of have different themes without without trying almost. Like I don't want to get too much into it, but um, because I don't want to ruin something, but I feel like there was an there was an overall theme of what season two was about. There's there's a different focus.

SPEAKER_00

And season three has a different focus. For sure.

SPEAKER_04

And so I think that that's why season one tends to fall flat because there's no contrast, there's no context underneath it. It's just a bunch of people getting to know each other and set up an introduction for sure. Mm-hmm. Laying the foundation. But one of the cool things about the finale is that it sets up how much all these people have changed. And I think that it's important to see the growth and and how far they've come, not only as individuals, but as their own little community.

SPEAKER_02

I don't want to cry again. I've already done it three times about the show today. You gotta stop talking. You gotta stop talking. Let's stop.

SPEAKER_04

And I can say that him and I both agree that watching some of these scenes in hindsight is actually more emotional than watching them for the first time.

SPEAKER_02

Far more. Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

Okay. Okay. Got two big babies on my hands. Okay. Well, yeah, because I mean, after the things blows up and everybody dies, and oh shit, did I say that out loud?

SPEAKER_03

You pulled the beat. It didn't work, Lisa. But nice try.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, but knowing who's never gonna see each other again and who dies and who's this, and that was the biggest thing.

SPEAKER_03

I uh it's not spoiling, but I turned on the show and was like, that dude, oh, I forgot he oh, and he died, and oh as long as Vincent is okay, that's all I care about.

SPEAKER_04

Him and John Locke, they live forever, don't worry.

SPEAKER_03

And and ever and stop fucking with me.

SPEAKER_04

And Vincent's a girl, just so you know. I mean, the the dog who plays Vincent is a female.

SPEAKER_03

Oh, okay. Oh, okay. I mean, why? Did she get pregnant? Like, I'm trying to forgot how is this? Okay. I don't know. Is there another dog on the island? Oh my god, wait, what?

SPEAKER_02

Oh, there are uh I got one more question. I know you I heard you talk about it a little bit, but uh I realized watching it this morning that I still hate Jack. He's still the most annoying thing I've ever seen on television. He was just talking, and I was just like, oh, I forgot about you. And everything he says and the look on his face, he kind of feels like superior and leader, but he's all broken and condescending. I'm like, and I was just so mad every time he opens his mouth. Yeah, I forgot. Like, and and uh, you know, they all have some growth during the series, and it wasn't no comment. You just commented uh listening to uh things he said in this in these episodes like uh huh, won't you see what you say in season four, buddy? If you do, I don't know. Um, and then the other thing I would say too, I should have said this in my little thing to you, at least because I I was hardcore on the internet, like starting with C's and threes, just like all the boards and all the guests and whatever, all that stuff. Um is that most people's favorite character has not been introduced yet. Maybe the top two favorite characters are not even on the show yet. So, like nobody was talking about with the people that everybody falls in love with, you haven't even begun to see this show.

SPEAKER_04

Okay, I I definitely know who one of those are. The second one I have a feeling, but I'm I don't want to say.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, it's interesting because every time I read these lists and stuff, oh man, it's an episode that like uh I'm done. I'm done. I'm done. I'm done. About I'm gonna go watch this show all day today. Nah, I need to. I'm I'm out, I'm out.

SPEAKER_04

That's it. We're gonna we're gonna have to do a separate spoiler chat, you and I.

SPEAKER_03

So I can so can we have you on like midway through each season?

SPEAKER_02

Like everyone once a season?

SPEAKER_03

No, like two, three times, like every couple episodes. Because you can't spoil it for me, but you know, I don't think I could wait a whole other season without you. Well, that's nice. That is really good.

SPEAKER_02

Yes, yes, is the answer. Yes, of course. No, no, no.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, that was my plan. It also wasn't asking you, I was kind of telling you.

SPEAKER_02

No, it's been a lot of fun, and I didn't realize I was gonna like the show like that. Like, everybody tries to get me to watch it again. I'm like, I'm not watching Lost Again, and then after watching three episodes, I'm like, I gotta watch that.

SPEAKER_04

I just don't understand how any normal person can just not get sucked in and want to keep going.

SPEAKER_03

Hello, Lisa. Have I ever said, hey, I'm acting as I'm normal? No, I've never claimed to be normal. All right, my mistake. Part of my charm. Yeah, just go with it. Just nod your hands.

SPEAKER_04

Not and smile. Not and smile. Yeah. This was fun.

SPEAKER_03

It was loads of fun. I mean, even though I'm just looking at a great blank thing there.

SPEAKER_02

This is so unfair. I'm totally looking at you both. This is great. Uh no, this is fun. That was won't be for like this. This is great. I'm gonna have to take the boy.

SPEAKER_04

Um, what wait? What's what's that show where oh where he's like, this is great, this is great. Oh, what's that from? Now it's stuck in my head.

SPEAKER_02

I don't know, but that sounds familiar.

SPEAKER_04

Probably a show I haven't watched. It's from Fraser. It's from Fraser when when when they he has the fan club come to his house and the guy's taking pictures. I think.

SPEAKER_02

I have seen that, and I think you might be right.

SPEAKER_04

I'm sure and the guy's like, this is great, this is great.

unknown

Okay, forget it.

SPEAKER_03

All right, I'm just a little scared now.

SPEAKER_04

I like Fraser. Anyway, I downloaded the Fraser Living Room 2 for my Zoom background. I have a problem.

SPEAKER_02

Fraser went off the air when in like late 90s?

SPEAKER_04

No, um in the early 2000s.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, okay.

SPEAKER_04

No, wait, wait, maybe. I don't know.

SPEAKER_02

I'd have to Google.

SPEAKER_04

No, it was definitely past the 90s because um Fra um Cheers was on from the early 80s. And I want to say both Cheers and Frasier were like 11 seasons long.

SPEAKER_03

Frasier was it started in 1993 and it lasted 11 seasons. Yep, the last one was 2004.

SPEAKER_02

Oh wow, that is that's longer than I would have imagined, but I'm not shocked either.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, because he he's one of like the longest TV characters.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, but you have to think about it.

SPEAKER_03

I just saw that the other day before it's still almost 20 years ago. Like, you don't think I know, yeah.

SPEAKER_02

It's like it was yesterday, right?

SPEAKER_03

Like they're like, oh, this the 90s was like 40 years ago. Like, yeah, no, oh shit, it really was 30 years ago. Mm-hmm. That makes me sad. But you still look good. Okay, so when people want to age me, I feel bad about my age. I was sitting in the doctor's waiting room, and me and this other woman were talking about I don't know, stuff in high school and stuff. And the the woman goes, Oh, but I'm a lot older than you. And I was like, I said, Oh no, because my 25-year reunion is coming up, and he's you know, her daughter turns around and looks at her and says, Mom, you look, she was, she looks way younger than you do, and uh, but it was so matter of fact.

SPEAKER_02

That's super awkward.

SPEAKER_03

I was not, yeah, I was just like, I gotta go. Because I was like, Yeah, what do you say? I felt good about it, let me tell you. But her daughter truly played her, and she just sat there like what did you say? Because she wasn't trying to be shady, she was just no nine-year-old, ten-year-old, just being like, hey mom.

SPEAKER_02

What kids do?

SPEAKER_03

It maybe feel awesome though. I gotta don't look at me with that tone of voice, Lisa. I know, random. I am a bit um full of randomness. No, it's cool. Yeah, no, it's not.

SPEAKER_04

It's the little, it's the little things we have to keep us going.

SPEAKER_03

Did you tell him about my theory about where they actually were?

SPEAKER_04

Um, no, you tell him.

SPEAKER_03

Okay, so I think they were all they were on one of the islands off of Samoa. I don't know if it's Samoa or the American Samoas, but the little island in between Samoa and American Samoa, I think that's where they were. Okay, okay, yeah. I I yeah, don't ask me why, but I pulled up, I pulled up uh she even sent me a screenshot of a map.

SPEAKER_02

Really?

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, because I have no life.

SPEAKER_02

Of course, not at all with me seeing all the seasons. If I do know exactly where they are, I just don't want to say anything.

SPEAKER_04

You know what? But but wait a minute now. Do you know exactly where they are?

SPEAKER_02

Do I?

SPEAKER_04

Do you? Because, you know. I don't know. Do I? Do you? That's that's what we can say.

SPEAKER_03

Because does anybody I don't I'm gonna should both know?

SPEAKER_04

Oh, I almost really slipped up. I'm so sorry I caught it. You caught now you caught what I mean, right?

SPEAKER_02

Oh, I was oh I was about to say something. Yeah, okay, so yeah. I was gonna say something, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. You shouldn't have said anything.

SPEAKER_04

Sorry, my my bad.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, yeah, you almost blew it.

SPEAKER_04

I almost I didn't blew it, you did. Well, uh well, you you you landed the path.

SPEAKER_03

Considering I stopped listening, you didn't blow shit. It's okay. Because actually, you're gonna replay your reaction to you catching yourself and loop. Because that was good.

SPEAKER_04

All right, no, but we know we know that they're clearly somewhere off of the like close to Nigeria because there's like the Nigerian small plane can't travel that far.

SPEAKER_02

That's what they yeah, that's what they said.

SPEAKER_04

You know, the little yellow plane that is on the ground.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, I know what you're talking about.

SPEAKER_04

Okay, those planes can't travel that far, and it came from Nigeria, right? They found the Nigerian money, so it's gotta be close to Nigeria.

SPEAKER_02

Right.

SPEAKER_04

Not necessarily. Why not?

SPEAKER_02

How else would the plane get there?

SPEAKER_03

No, I'm just saying it could have I'm just saying they could have made extra amount of stops. Like that plane might not have that plane might not have originated from Nigeria. We gotta shut up Nigeria's like on the it's on the west coast of Africa, isn't it? Right. So they would have to go across Africa all the way to yeah, no. So people that that definitely made no sense, Lisa. Okay, all right. All right, I'll shut up. Okay, I think I hear sarcasm in that. I hear some sarcasm there. I hear sarcasm.

SPEAKER_02

I can't comment.

SPEAKER_03

I'm gonna mute you both. What else? I'm just along for the ride. I just work here.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I'm just staring at my microphone now. I'm that was that was my moment. You that was it.

SPEAKER_03

I think what was your favorite episode from season two?

SPEAKER_04

Okay, okay. How about if you if you have a favorite moment from uh episode from season two, you can give us the title of the episode.

SPEAKER_02

If you oh I don't I don't know, no, I don't know the titles.

unknown

All right.

SPEAKER_02

If I looked at them, I might remember like, oh, but nah, I don't know.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, because only Lisa, only you know that much. No normal person can tell you some because numbers would be one, because it's kind of obvious.

SPEAKER_04

Oh, you know what's a good episode? Trisha Tanaka.

SPEAKER_02

That is an episode I don't remember what happened.

SPEAKER_04

Uh okay, forgot it.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. Another look.

SPEAKER_04

It's a hurley episode.

SPEAKER_02

Oh. Oh, I okay. I know who that is now. I know I know where they are now.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah. So you can remember some of them by the name of the episode.

SPEAKER_03

Some like, well, are you Googling it?

SPEAKER_02

Whatever, yeah.

SPEAKER_03

No, I'm not. I'm checking my messages. Um case you didn't tell. I I keep my phone on do not disturb all day long now.

SPEAKER_04

Okay, so Jamar, I'm gonna ask you a question, which something that I have been kind of going back and forth with. We are about to start recording for season two. So, as somebody who has seen the show and is familiar, do you think it's worth it to do season two, episodes one and two as one episode or two? Do you know where I'm where I'm coming from?

SPEAKER_02

I actually do, yeah, for sure. That's what I was about to say was my favorite, but it's only my favorite because it's what it is. Anyway, uh, yeah, I would do that.

SPEAKER_04

Okay.

SPEAKER_02

I would do that.

SPEAKER_04

Cool. Yeah, I I didn't, I obviously I couldn't ask her. I could cur. Okay. Anything to make the process go faster? You know me. Yeah, I know.

SPEAKER_03

All right. I thought you were good when you were starting off that question. I thought you were going to um offer him the job officially while I was on on the conference call and book me out.

SPEAKER_02

I have a question for you. How do you feel about replacing her?

SPEAKER_04

It might be coming. That call might be coming sooner than later. Look at her.

SPEAKER_02

No, I've listened. You were like, you're old friends, you have a thing going on, you get it, uh, you got a vibe. I I'd tear it up. I'd really destroy this whole thing.

SPEAKER_03

Lisa, you should agree with him on that. Oh yes, absolutely. I it was a pause. It was a really awkward pause.

SPEAKER_04

No, I absolutely agree. There's there's no doubt in my mind.

SPEAKER_03

See, Lisa, I don't know about the apple fritters and the banana bread when you come. I don't know. I can make that for you now.

SPEAKER_04

Um, okay. So I think that that will do it for this episode. Unless there's anything else.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, you can't see me, so I would say no. We're like, ah, I was like literally making lunch in the kitchen. I was like, oh, I'm sorry, let me go.

SPEAKER_04

That's fine. That's fine. Where can our listeners find you?

SPEAKER_02

Oh, that is awesome. Uh, I am everywhere at Jamar Duron, which is my name, and I'm going to spell it. That is G-E-R-M-A-R, Jamar. Last name Duron D-E-R-R-O-N everywhere. So Instagram or Facebook, you can add me. Uh, what else do I do? Twitter, uh, all that stuff, Snapchat. But I guess most importantly, the website is looktothecookie.org. And that's that.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, and and so we'll link, yeah, we'll link everything.

SPEAKER_03

Because I was late. Because I was late, what is look into the cookies about?

SPEAKER_02

Like uh so uh no no no, it's good. Looktothecookie.org is a uh like pop culture website, although lately, since I'm not getting paid, it's now become like a personal site. But uh every TV show, movie, politics, uh race, culture, whatever you won't want. I got a podcast, I've had a few different podcasts, I've had a bunch of different contributors, uh, there's articles and and all sorts of stuff, but that's what it is.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, yeah, so definitely go check that out. And like I said, we'll link everything in the show notes.

SPEAKER_02

So thank you.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, absolutely. So this has been a lot of fun with us. Yeah, and we're um I'd like to do this again. So if you're up for it, we're up for it.

SPEAKER_02

So you just have this uh, you know, the world's ending. Uh what else am I doing? Like I I'm not going to work. Might as well watch Lost and have a glass of wine. Exactly. Of course, thank you for having me on. It was a lot of fun.

SPEAKER_04

So until next time, everyone, I'm Lisa. And I'm Agnes.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, I'm supposed to say I'm Jamar.

SPEAKER_04

When in Raw.

SPEAKER_03

We don't know if you really are since we can't see you. Right. I'll take your word for it.

SPEAKER_04

And we are out of here.

SPEAKER_05

I like that one.

SPEAKER_02

I should have listened a lot, because now I kind of want to watch it after watching three episodes like this morning. I was thinking like, I should watch the episodes, listen to your podcast, and then do a podcast about your podcast. Here's where they were wrong.

SPEAKER_04

No, that's hilarious. And if you did that, I would listen. Uh and I would be like, and if you want to see where we fuck up, go listen to this too.

SPEAKER_03

At the three minute mark, she says that hurly, but actually, I think his camera's working and not working intentionally, but that's just my thoughts.

SPEAKER_02

Maybe I broke it, just my face.
