SPEAKER_02

Hi, and welcome to this episode of Sassin Sips. Today we are talking about Good Girls Season 1, Episode 6 of You From the Top. I'm Lisa, and today I am sipping on a little bit of white wine because I had some in my fridge and it's hot.

SPEAKER_00

That's how it usually happens.

SPEAKER_02

That is the little wine fridge that Alex brought home. I think it's crapping out. So we've got to drink those bottles that have been in there.

SPEAKER_00

It's such a such a hardship.

SPEAKER_02

It's like, oh, what was us? We have to drink this wine.

SPEAKER_00

Oh.

SPEAKER_02

I don't know how to.

SPEAKER_00

I don't know how you're gonna cope, Lisa.

SPEAKER_02

I don't know.

SPEAKER_00

Send you thoughts and prayers.

SPEAKER_02

Thank you. And send snacks too.

SPEAKER_00

Okay. And I'm Agnes, and I am drinking my usual Sunday morning black eye. Speaking of which, my espresso machine is crapping out. Because it's leaking from the bottom. From the bottom. So I'm thinking it's something internal. Because it's been clean, decalcified, and everything. So I'm like, okay.

SPEAKER_02

Did you try duct tape yet?

SPEAKER_00

WT40 and duct tape.

SPEAKER_02

McGrubber. Um I mean, I know you don't enjoy SNL or comedy movies, but considering that was a movie, maybe you'll understand the reference.

SPEAKER_00

I get the pop culture reference, though. I do. At first I thought you said no, you don't enjoy SM. I was like, wait, what?

SPEAKER_02

I don't know if you do or not, but that wasn't the question.

SPEAKER_00

That came out of the left field. Um, what? It's too early for this shit. Maybe later on we could talk about BDSM and shit.

SPEAKER_02

Maybe later. Okay.

SPEAKER_00

I don't think we're up to that episode yet, but maybe by the end of this episode we can work it in.

SPEAKER_02

Okay. Okay. I have a hot take. Okay. Rio was not in this episode enough.

SPEAKER_00

Exactly. That was my little This episode is a dud. Work to you next week.

SPEAKER_02

It comes out of the shadows here and there. Like, I'm okay with you coming out of the shadows.

SPEAKER_00

But can we do it more often? Can you come out more often and stay? Yeah. Uh so do you see I I know you do, but I don't the sex appeal with Rio is just Oh yeah. Oh my god.

SPEAKER_01

It's it's his calm.

SPEAKER_02

The the still it's the the that's the confidence, right?

SPEAKER_00

Yes.

SPEAKER_02

And he doesn't get flustered, which is attractive. Like when a person, man or woman, can just be still and hold themselves calm and quiet, that's attractive.

SPEAKER_00

And it's like it's so fucking sexy because it's a little scary.

SPEAKER_02

Because you're like, what the fuck is going on? It because you know the outside isn't moving, the inside is.

SPEAKER_00

As moving like whoa.

SPEAKER_02

Which is it's intelligence, also.

SPEAKER_00

So definitely the whole still and quiet. Well, that's not us. So are we not sexy now?

SPEAKER_02

Well, no, it I think we have our moments, but over here, this is our safe space to be stupid and silly. Oh, okay. Because I was like, I don't know. But it's that it's like that flappy behavior that people do when they get flustered and they and they I just want to beat them with a stick. Yeah, it's annoying and it's not attractive. It doesn't portray confidence or leadership. And those are the I mean, for me, right, those are the things that I find attractive is the confidence, the calm, the smart, you know, like your brain, you know, it's almost like sapiosexual. It's like, you know, like just I know that you have thoughts in your head. And listen, he's a good-looking guy. So that definitely helps. And just because he's running a criminal enterprise doesn't mean that he is not displaying the same traits of a guy who's running a Fortune 500 company. He's just doing it illegally.

SPEAKER_00

He's saving on taxes, same traits.

SPEAKER_02

He's just illegally saving on taxes.

SPEAKER_00

But you know what? The Fortune 500 people are doing the same thing.

SPEAKER_02

Right, that's what I mean.

SPEAKER_00

Because they dress illegally there, but they're also illegally saving on taxes. But they wear they wear a three-piece suit, and it's called white collar. Yeah, yeah. So it's really the same shit. But anyway.

SPEAKER_02

Well, because they're white skin. So that's it.

SPEAKER_00

That sounds about white.

SPEAKER_02

But yeah, you know, like you you see this guy, and and yeah, I mean, he might pull out a gun and shoot you in the face, but you know where you stand. But he's smart and he's capable. And that's kind of what it comes down to. And then when he gives that look, like where he kind of looks almost down his face at you, but like to the side. You know what I'm talking about?

SPEAKER_01

It's like I'm getting twenties.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, give me the chin nod, and I'm I'm done. Like, yes. Yes.

SPEAKER_00

I don't know what you're asking, but yes. I don't care what you're asking, but yes. Yeah. He's the bear that I would choose. You know what I mean?

SPEAKER_02

He is the man I would choose.

SPEAKER_00

The bear, the man, the the Jaguar, whatever.

SPEAKER_02

I heard I heard it was upgraded to Lion now after the lion saved somebody from the man. Oh, that's right. I didn't, I don't really know.

SPEAKER_00

Right now, I'll choose the jungle book. Baloo. All I would choose the jungle book.

SPEAKER_02

Hey, Baloo sings and dances, so all of them. Sounds like a good time.

SPEAKER_00

This scene opens with feet trampling through the forest. And you're like, wait, and for a second, I was like, do I have the right show? Because I thought.

SPEAKER_02

Are we watching Lost Again? Right. I was like, is this one of my murder shows? Like, what the hell? Yeah, it was it was a little like off-putting. I was like, wait, what?

SPEAKER_00

Next scene. Beth is looking like the look on her face is it's not worry, it's not concerned. It's like, what the fuck am I going to do now? So according to according to his doctor, Dean doesn't have much time to prepare, seeing as he has prostate cancer. Dean's doctor is going through the tests and the steps and the process that they're going to go through for his cancer. And Beth's only question was, how much is this going to cost? I feel that.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, and that's sad because welcome to America.

SPEAKER_00

Right. Because you think you have insurance like you you shouldn't have to have medical insurance and worry about losing your house at the same time. Well, to or to like just not die. Or not to die, right? Because you can't afford that's bananas.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. Yeah, we're not worried about if you're gonna live or die. We're just worrying about how much is it gonna cost and can we still feed our family? Right.

SPEAKER_00

You shouldn't have to do that. This scene's going back and forth because at the same time, we watch as an SUV that the girls took on their wrapping paper journey. It's being pulled. It's being pulled from the lake where they sank it. FBI Turner is on the scene and he seems extra happy to see that the licensed plateholder of the car has the Boland Motors logo on it. Go back to the doctor's office. Beth has left. And Dean, fucking Dean, has paid off the doctor with the car. Yeah. A brand, well, he's like, a Cadillac? He's like, the fuck you. It's a Buick. He goes, is it new? New to you.

SPEAKER_01

Like I was like, the fuck?

SPEAKER_02

I mean, considering that.

SPEAKER_00

I knew he was making it, but still, this is a whole new level. Oh, you a dick.

SPEAKER_02

Lose his license for this.

SPEAKER_00

For used Buick.

SPEAKER_02

For use fucking Buick. Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Maybe a brand new escalade? Maybe. No, it's not not even.

SPEAKER_02

He's like, you couldn't make it sound more serious. It's prostate cancer. You're dead. It's like one of the most serious.

SPEAKER_00

Like, what what do you want? At Ruby's house, Sarah is fully covered.

SPEAKER_02

How does he find the car?

SPEAKER_00

Did the fish rat them out? Like, they never said how they found the car. And I just thought I missed it because I actually washed it again. I'm like, did I miss how?

SPEAKER_02

No, I washed it twice too. And I'm like, how the fuck did they know that the car was there?

SPEAKER_00

Maybe the next episode they'll tell us. I really don't remember the little nuances. I really don't. I'm sorry. So if I say something and you're like, this bitch told me. No, it's just me. Yeah, no.

SPEAKER_02

I I'm I'm yeah. I just okay. I have questions, but okay.

SPEAKER_00

Okay. At Ruby's house, Sarah is still recovering, and the rest of her family is trying to make her at least rap. Not rap. Make her feel better. By rapping. By rapping Ducky Fresh and Slick Rick's. That was so cute. Ah. They kill it. They do. They kill it.

SPEAKER_02

I want to be in that family.

SPEAKER_00

I totally do. Because you know, it's not like it's I'm already poor, so it works out great. Not a change of, you know, not a change of life.

SPEAKER_02

Like what I didn't have that mom. I I would be that mom. I mean, I sing to my kids and and they just really rolled their eyes. Sarah's a much better audience.

SPEAKER_00

So I right.

SPEAKER_02

She's also stuck on the couch for home dialysis, so she's a pretty captive audience.

SPEAKER_00

There was that.

SPEAKER_02

My kids, my kids just get up and leave.

SPEAKER_00

Um, although they're killing it, Sarah's still not feeling it because Sarah's not feeling well. Um after their performance, of course, Ruby goes, Okay, hun, gotta go to work. I'm doing a double. At her real job, she's bemoaning the payday after Beth hands her and hands her her thin stack of bills with the green bag. Green band. Great. You know what? Words are hard today. Everyone's just going to have to figure out the words I'm using. It's like a puzzle. This is like Assassin's Sips meets national treasure. Considering the effort they're putting in, the reward is clearly not worth the risk.

SPEAKER_02

Ruby is like, this is the hardest that I have ever worked for the least amount of money, and I've worked service jobs.

SPEAKER_00

Service. That should tell you something.

SPEAKER_02

And that will tell you everything.

SPEAKER_00

Like, you don't go with your life a crime to work hard for less money. Like, I need to see my return of investment needs to be a little bit better than this.

SPEAKER_02

And considering, I mean, she makes a really good point. She's like, and and not only that, but they're literally risking everything, including their lives for shit pay.

SPEAKER_00

What's the point? What's the point? I feel like this is everyone's everyone's problem in the workforce, legal or illegal. Yeah. Like it transcends on economic barriers. Maybe if you get a union.

SPEAKER_02

I'm probably l a lot less likely to get shot at my job.

SPEAKER_00

Probably. Only because you work at home. If you it could go either way.

SPEAKER_02

But you know, if I if if I have to work in person, I mean, you know, Port Authority. Sketchy these days. Yeah, Manhattan's a free-for-all.

SPEAKER_00

It's definitely don't say that because people already think it's Gotham City.

SPEAKER_02

And it's like let them think it. But let me tell you, when I take them away from the few times that I've gone in person, I got a good contact high on my way in. From the between the walk from Port of 30 to Park Ave, I'm like, yeah, I'm I'm good. I'm giving a coffee and I'm great.

SPEAKER_00

I think we all needed that. I wish they had this when I was working. They're like, I am now prepared for your shit today.

SPEAKER_02

I mean, it's it's you know, it's a it's a nice 15-minute walk. And and I'm yeah, I'm good.

SPEAKER_00

But do you know how I would have been so nice to so many people if that was the thing back then?

SPEAKER_02

I am ready for your shit. It is a thing now.

SPEAKER_00

Ruby laments over that the amount won't make a dent in Sarah's care. Annie's annoyed because her cussy lawyer charged her for messenger on Facebook. And Ruby goes, Why would you not think she's gonna charge you? Annie goes, because we're Facebook friends. I don't know why I thought of you.

SPEAKER_02

Even I know better. Even I know better. Somebody needs to sit Annie in a corner and like, I don't know, but like sit her in a corner with like a big bowl of chicken nuggets and like a TV show and just tell her she's pretty. Just sit, just sit down, Annie. So here's some tacos.

SPEAKER_00

Okay, I'm smart.

unknown

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

But if someone's telling me to sit in the corner and eat chicken nuggets with a TV, I'm okay with that. Me too.

SPEAKER_02

Me too. Because uh listen, I love Annie, right? Like we all have a little bit of Annie in us. But if there's a way to fuck shit up, she always finds it. Because finds her. No.

SPEAKER_00

I think us responsible people, we need to be sent to a corner sometimes. It's tiring. Send me in a corner, put a dunce. I don't care, put a dunce hat on me if you need to. Put me in my corner, put me on punishment, and give me my chicken nuggets.

SPEAKER_02

Because every single episode, it's like, well, first of all, we we know we're already gonna find out. Like the ladies are going to have a problem and have to figure out their way out of it, and things are gonna escalate the stakes are gonna get higher. I have a problem with but every episode, it's like, well, let's see what Annie is gonna fuck up this episode. And this time, yeah. And she delivers. It really was okay.

SPEAKER_00

Okay. I'm gonna we would get to it. I'm gonna have my.

SPEAKER_02

And Beth is gonna solve it. It's a problem.

SPEAKER_00

Yo, I'll solve it. Check it out, I DJ Mom. Okay. Uh Willy wants to cut their losses now before they get caught or shot. So that night during their drop-off, that's smart. She tries to convince them to get out. We didn't sign a contract. Yeah. The fuck? Like, no, just with your blood. We've been laundering. So wait, Annie goes, we've been laundering fake money for a street gang. It's not a college internship. We can't be like, thanks, bye. So much. Annie's not wrong. Although she fucks up shit, she's a little bit more realistic as far as like what's just gonna happen. Rio catches the tail end of their conversation and asks, What do they think they're getting out of? I'm so sorry. I just had a visual of him at the moment, so I couldn't speak. Okay.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, he's like getting out of what, ladies.

SPEAKER_00

I want to get on top of something. Um, oh my god. Okay. And in typical Beth fashion, because this is a pattern that we've gone to we've gotten to see and gotten to expect now from Beth, rather than seeing them out, Beth thinks them deeper and asks Rhea for a bigger job.

SPEAKER_02

My girl. Like she's still not expecting that.

SPEAKER_00

Go big or go home to a whole new fucking level.

SPEAKER_02

But she even just double her fucking involvement, which is what I feel right. Like I feel like, okay, double. Right? Double. That's the next logical step.

SPEAKER_00

No. Take that bitch to Vegas. Let's see what's happening. She tells him they're gonna need five times more in order to turn a profit and make it worth it for them. He goes, You want to clean 500 Gs? That's in the tone of this like word? Okay. I think he was like surprised and amused and kind of and like he was like impressed. Yeah, impressed.

SPEAKER_02

It's it's not like turned on. I mean maybe a little like oh. Okay. All right.

SPEAKER_00

She's like, yeah, we can do it.

SPEAKER_02

But I think he is a little intrigued by the whole like how he's intrigued by Beth in general. Yeah. It's like housewife turn, life of crime, and he's like, You got the mama van.

SPEAKER_00

I know now as I'm driving around my neighborhood, I'll be looking at those mom bands, like, uh-huh. Mom bands. That minivan costs 100 G's. I wonder what she's doing.

SPEAKER_02

Like, you know what I mean? It's a minivan. Alex and I were having this conversation. The the minivans, like when we were kids or younger, are not the same as the minivans today.

SPEAKER_00

No, no. I drove one last summer when I rented one to go to the safari. And I was like, oh, this okay. Yeah. Like it had like I've been lucky enough to have new cars, so I like it's easy. You don't have to put much pressure to start and stop your car. It's you know, everything's new. But this bitch, you if I was to breathe on the gas pedal, she was revving. I'm like, what the fuck? Mini van is this shit.

SPEAKER_02

I know, and they just like they have nice amenities, they're comfortable, like they don't feel like they just yeah, like the ugliest things on the road anymore.

SPEAKER_00

No, no. So I think those three-row SUVs that they had kind of transitioned to to be like the cool mom, the minivans are now like, uh-uh, bitch.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, like hold on.

SPEAKER_00

Hold up, wait a minute. Hold my beer. I got something for your ass. Look under my hood. I've got wild mustangs under my hood. Like the engine just wants to go.

SPEAKER_02

I I don't okay.

SPEAKER_00

I actually literally meant that literally. I didn't mean that figuratively. And there's no indoor windows. I actually meant that literally. The engine and these.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah. Buck you, Lisa. So anyway, the ladies. Yeah, right? What are they up to now?

SPEAKER_00

Okay, I don't know. Um, Ruby cannot believe Beth got them on the hook from more. Beth maintains, we just need more hands. I know tons of women who can use extra cash. Ruby goes, This isn't Mary Kay. You can't just serve a bitch mini muffins and invite her to join a life of crime. I'm like, but the fuck you cannot. I'm down.

SPEAKER_02

She's got some of the best lines.

SPEAKER_00

And I'm pretty sure in my head, I think they one, they gave her certain lines because she can carry it.

SPEAKER_02

But I also think comedian.

SPEAKER_00

Right. I also think some of this stuff is probably completely improv on her part. Like in my in my in my head, I think she's like embodied Ruby, and she's like, uh, this is what Ruby, like, this is the my head. I'm just making sure.

SPEAKER_02

Well, there's and but there's the line when Beth is saying um that she's got the whole new perspective on things, and Ruby is like, ain't that the truth? And I I could totally see that being improv, yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Improv. Yes. There's a lot.

SPEAKER_02

It's just so effortlessly delivered.

SPEAKER_00

Yes. And real. Kind of just like off the cuff. Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Like it looked like something that turned like started as like they ran through the screen, the scene, the screen, the scene, and she said that and they were like, Oh, we like that.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Get her own video. Get her own film. Okay, sorry.

SPEAKER_00

But Beth had a good point. She goes, What if they don't know it's crime? I'm not mad at that. No, I'm not. But big picture who they pick pisses me off because they lost their fucking minds.

SPEAKER_02

As you can see, not not for nothing. I I give them a lot of credit. That was a that was a brilliant idea, right? Considering their parameters, that was a pretty brilliant idea.

SPEAKER_00

However, Tyler not just the dumbest okay.

SPEAKER_02

But I feel like just casually handing over twenty thousand dollars to these people, even though you quote know them was a really, really, really dangerous move. And especially that like you have no recourse, right? If they take the money and walk away with it. Like just flat out, be like, you know what? Yeah, I don't want to do that. I'm just gonna keep this. Then what?

SPEAKER_00

In my head, I'm thinking you would have to make a fake contract for this fake company you work with. So they give them kind of like, okay, I can't take it because this company's going to sue me. You know, they give them that whole like And I know that there's so much, right?

SPEAKER_02

Because then it's like, okay, but you don't want a paper trail, but like I feel like, but But then maybe just smaller amounts.

SPEAKER_00

More people, smaller amounts.

SPEAKER_02

But yeah, it right like 5,000. And then okay. Here, do the job and then come back and we'll give you your next assignment.

SPEAKER_00

But these have to be some really stupid moms. Because you give me a youth 20,000 to super shit. I'm like, bitch, don't bullshit a bullshitter. What's really good?

SPEAKER_02

I'd be like, uh-uh. No. Like.

SPEAKER_00

I kind of may be like, okay, what's really good? Because I can tell you how to do this and not get caught because you're fucking shit up by giving me $20,000.

SPEAKER_02

But some somebody just is like, and I'm not signing anything, I'm not filling out a W4 or whatever, like a W2 or whatever, whatever fuck number it is. I don't know. Um, it's like, um, or $1099, because it's, you know, self-employment.

SPEAKER_00

But like all of it, it was just like no.

SPEAKER_02

No, like if you gave me a smaller amount, maybe. You know, like you start I mean, listen, I've I've actually done secret shopping. Mm-hmm. And I at least the ones that I've done, which have been for food stuff, you don't they don't give you money.

SPEAKER_00

No, it's not that you're gonna go shopping anyway, and while you're doing your normal everyday shopping, well, no, they give you permission to buy stuff, but like you have to.

SPEAKER_02

There's like certain parameters. Like you can't spend more than this amount, you have to submit your receipt, and then you get reimbursed.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, right, right, right, right.

SPEAKER_02

So you, I mean, you have a little wiggle room. It's not just like do this, but they don't give you the money up front. You have to put out the money and submit, and then you get reimbursed plus your your cut.

SPEAKER_00

But then obviously, these moms, as I will get to later, they m they don't have the first thing they oh I have to ask my husband. So then they don't they don't have the brains. Right, they don't have that mental accura that acumen to be like, okay, ask right.

SPEAKER_02

I don't mean they don't have the brains like if they're not smart. They they just they don't have the experience. That's right.

SPEAKER_00

Right. And I'm just go anywhere. Like, how do you live a sheltered life your whole life and not be able to put adult context into perspective? Like these are just normal everyday adult survive every day. But you know what? There's a lot of people like that. I would say a majority of our country is like that. Except for like even say what you will about metropolitan areas, you learn how to adult. Yeah. And you're not sheltered, you have exp you're thrown into life. Yeah. And you know, and then I gotta say, like, we were still protected, we were parented. Yeah. We had we had our safety net, but we saw shit, experienced things, met people. Navigated. Now thank you. That's what I wanted to say.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. And we are wonderful people we are today because of it.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, struggling to make ends meet.

SPEAKER_02

Um could be a lot worse, you know. It could be worse.

SPEAKER_00

Some of them mentally on this planet, but um yeah. So back to them inviting stupid people. So they invite four of the other moms, Tyler. That was the biggest mistake in the world. Inviting Tyler, even to say there's two two, I don't know how all three of them would like, yeah, Tyler's a good plan. No, I know. That's how they fucked up having Tyler part of it.

SPEAKER_02

Like, I'm not surprised that Annie was like, yeah, Tyler.

SPEAKER_00

I would have thought Ty were like, no, he's a fucking moron. I thought she would have, but either way, the other whoever said yes, yeah, the other two should have been like, What? Are you fucking stupid?

SPEAKER_02

I know.

SPEAKER_00

So according to the elaborate scheme developed by the girls, the store hires companies like the one that they work for to send people in to pretend to be shoppers, which we already kind of discussed before this part. So you have to go into the stores, buy stuff, then return it. To make the job seem more believable, the girls tell them that when they're done, they have to fill out a survey so everyone can learn how good or bad the service is. So the women start to say, like I said before, but I have to ask my husband. And then someone said, Yeah, because I'm a if I'm away from the kids, my husband goes. I cringed.

SPEAKER_02

But and then how long do the surveys have to be?

SPEAKER_00

And they're like, Well, they're like, they're like, and do we get reimbursed for mileage? And Annie goes, I was definitely tapped to corporate about that. And Boo Boo goes, corporate.

SPEAKER_02

Although Annie almost simultaneous simultaneously comes through to seal the deal. Bug shit up at the same time.

SPEAKER_00

And as they're talking about, wait, no, I can't, I gotta talk. And Beth gives her new perspective speech. Yeah, and then Annie goes, at the end of the year, you get a new Corvette.

unknown

Right.

SPEAKER_00

Right, because they're gonna forget about the whole Corvette at in a year's time.

SPEAKER_02

She's like, Yeah, they'll forget. No, they won't.

SPEAKER_00

No, they won't. Um I can't. It was enough to shut them up. That's I guess you figure that's a bridge I'll cross later.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

But by then, maybe they can afford to take buy a Corvette for them with pocket change.

SPEAKER_02

And, you know, let's let's be honest, right? In this fake company, there may be other fake employees who who will have won it.

SPEAKER_00

Right. That actually popped in my head, too.

SPEAKER_02

Not a totally terrible plan.

SPEAKER_00

Right. Fucking Annie. Agent Turner pays Dean a visit at his dealership to tell him the good news about the SUV being found. Dean is confused as to why someone would steal a car just to sink it. Someone said I saw somewhere like the S what was it? Their Canadian Journey Titanic or something. Just something compared to the Titanic. Or something because it went sunk. Oh.

SPEAKER_01

Tony goes, well, no, no. Ask your wife.

SPEAKER_00

And Dean's like, what?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

We go back to Annie's at work and we get to see the cute little racist old lady.

SPEAKER_02

I let me tell you something. I love June Squibb because she plays those characters excellently. She does.

SPEAKER_00

It's like you could feel like, oh my god, you're a racist little old lady, but I kind of like you. But like you're kind of adorable. Yeah. You're adorable at her height, everything about just cute. So you're like, Yeah. Because the funny thing is, I don't think she means Okay, I'm about to get cancelled. But I don't think she means to be racist.

SPEAKER_02

You know what I mean? She doesn't do it from hate. She doesn't just I I think I think that part of it is like that generational thing.

SPEAKER_00

Yes. Norm.

SPEAKER_02

It's not hate. It's just like, okay, this is what Yeah. Yeah. I I know what you mean. I know what you mean.

SPEAKER_00

Okay, good.

SPEAKER_02

And and I feel like it's one of those, like, you know, too late to teach an old dog new tricks. Like they just Right.

SPEAKER_00

Cause sometimes I think there's some levels of racism that you're just like, oh, okay. As a black woman, I'm okay with just like, okay, that's just, it's fine. It's it's fine.

SPEAKER_02

It's it it's I mean maybe I'll cut this out, but maybe you know, when they showed up to the house, she wasn't like, oh no, Ruby can't come in my house and touch. Right. It's like, you know, you have Ruby get the vacuum cleaner and do the work while Annie sits and eats cookies. Yes, but yeah, so I don't know. Like is that progressive for an old lady? I don't know. I think you know. If they came to my house, I would have been like, why the fuck are you bitches here? Period. You're not coming in, period. But if I let them in, oh no, you're all cleaning.

SPEAKER_00

Either we're all cleaning or we're all eating cookies on the couch. Yeah, and and only if you brought cookies for all of us. I'm not sharing my cookies. Especially just showed up out of nowhere. You show up with cookies and alcohol.

SPEAKER_01

Right.

SPEAKER_00

So Mary is back and she's looking for her favorite mints, and she recognizes.

SPEAKER_02

So she's at yeah, she's at the fine and frugal.

SPEAKER_00

The Lisa. I'm gonna call it the Lisa.

SPEAKER_02

She's at the Lisa and Frugal.

unknown

I love you.

SPEAKER_02

I've got goals. I've got savings goals. I've got a kid going to college soon. So I gotta be frugal. She's money.

SPEAKER_00

I am that stores is going to be now called Lisa.

SPEAKER_01

Okay.

SPEAKER_00

Okay, great. So when she's at the Lisa, she recognizes Annie at the same. I'm sorry. She recognizes Annie at the same time. Boomer. Lisa, you have you have inspired a lot of things this for this show thus far. Okay. You're inspirational.

SPEAKER_02

Thank you.

SPEAKER_00

You're welcome.

SPEAKER_02

I remember that when I formulate my cult. I'm working on it.

SPEAKER_00

Listen, I'm already in. I'm I signed up for it. I'm not knowing anything about it. That's how good you are. I've already signed up. Um, Boomer walks up to Annie's checkout line to make sure that Nana is fine. Confused as to how they know each other, Nana tells him that Annie works for social services and came to clean her apartment. Boomer initially makes Annie squirm. Hate Boomer. He really has some balls to like, dude, you have so much. It's like that running, I don't say joke, but what does a broke always have plenty of? The audacity.

SPEAKER_02

It's not it's not even broke, it's just like underwhelming.

SPEAKER_00

He's the same premise. What yeah? He has under unmitigated balls and audacity. You have nothing. Yeah. I guess you're there to lose. Why the fuck not, right?

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. I guess so. When you at the bottom, only way up, only way, only direction is up. I don't know. But you got to dig deeper.

SPEAKER_00

Some of these motherfuckers don't realize you can go deeper.

SPEAKER_02

Okay.

SPEAKER_00

Um, they haven't found the right woman to push him down deeper into the hole. Um, so as he's being a boomer, Annie Fax fights back by throwing his pathetic lie by being engaged to Jessica Alba. She's good at that. Yeah, she's so good with that. So I don't know why he keeps pressing. Like, why do you keep fucking with Annie?

SPEAKER_02

Because he likes her. He likes her.

SPEAKER_00

The little boy at the school.

SPEAKER_02

And nobody ever told him, right, like pulling on a girl's pigtails is not the way to get her. Right. Except he's playing with higher stakes.

SPEAKER_00

And he's losing.

SPEAKER_02

Because he knows that he's not good enough.

SPEAKER_00

For anybody. Oh, that's so mean. The act the character, not the actor people. The character. Right. Just making sure we love the actor.

SPEAKER_02

David Hornsby.

SPEAKER_00

At this point, it's clear that Boomer is very jealous of Annie and tries reminding her of this friendship and availability by like, hey, I'm here. I'm I can talk to you. And when Annie asks about her friends, Marion goes, They're all dead.

SPEAKER_02

And I was like, Yeah, because she's like, I you need like a girl talk, you know? You need another one.

SPEAKER_00

I'm it maybe it's kind of sad. And Annie like tears in her eyes. Yeah. Like with the big sad Sam and honey. Oh, I had, oh, the like little stuffed animals, sad salmon honey, and they have the big eyes. So it looks okay. At this point, Tyler comes and interrupts and he goes, Can I talk to you?

SPEAKER_02

Like, no.

SPEAKER_00

Turns out all the shit he left in his unlocked car and it got stolen. And Annie's like, no.

SPEAKER_02

So he brings Annie to the car and he's like, Yeah, so the stuff is stolen. And and she's like, Oh, but the trunk isn't. And he was like, No, no, no.

SPEAKER_00

It wasn't that broken.

unknown

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

He then he goes like, well, you know. And then she's like, he was like, oh, but it was it wasn't in the trunk, it was in the car. He she's like, but the windows aren't broken. And he's like, oh yeah, the doors don't lock.

SPEAKER_00

Okay. I had a feeling about this. I don't know. Did it really get stolen though?

SPEAKER_02

I was thinking the same thing.

SPEAKER_00

Because I'm like, can someone be that stupid? I mean, yes, he could be that stupid, but I feel like, hmm.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. So now they're out of like 20, 20, 20,000 of shit. But not too. Annie has a plan.

SPEAKER_00

Annie has a plan. So you already know it's kind of a big deal. If you can't return the goods for real cash, losing the items is kind of worse than losing the receipt. You know, you're like, No, it's definitely worse than losing the receipt. Right. But is it though? After telling the girls that Tyler screwed up, she's convinced that they're going to need to rob again. And she hands it.

SPEAKER_02

She's like, hello. Remember these? She pulls out like the mat. It's just a little bit like I got something sharpie. She's like, because next time we gotta make sure. And they're like, whoa, whoa. She came prepared at least. I know.

SPEAKER_00

She had a plan. And that's something for Annie. Not just like, oh, whoa, it's me. She has a plan. You gotta respect that.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. She's I think she wants to rob a check-ashing place this time.

SPEAKER_00

Actually, not a bad idea. But anyway, um Ruby is like, no, we're not doing that. She's like, can we just like stiff the secret shoppers? Which is kind of stupid because that's gonna bring hell rain down on you. So Annie goes, Well, you know, or we can just, you know, end up like soup in a barrel and they can't tell us from us in a dead dog.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. She and then she starts going through procedure of how they put them, how they put people in the oil drums with the lie and the sp in the soup and so, you know, just a little motivation, but we gotta do something about this shit.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. And then Beth bets. Yes, she does. And she was coming up. We don't need to come up with the money, we just need the merchandise. Okay, so it's Annie and Beth going in with fake wigs, looking like spies. Ruby's in the car. And I maybe it's just me, but it didn't escape my notice that the two white women should go in and steal the shit. Because I know if Ruby went in, it would have you can't have a black woman going in there stealing shit and walking out because it's gonna bring like this we're washed anybody.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Right, but we're gonna be washed anyway. So it's funny how the two women looking with the fake whips whibs. The fake rigs, they go through unnoticed stealing shit.

SPEAKER_02

And and to build on your point, what's funny is that you would think like, okay, yeah, wear a wig, make yourself a little like. But then the black jackets looking. Right. But then like Annie has like an orange wig, she's got the makeup, and it's like you're noticeable. Like, wear a plain brown wig and a plain, like, black jacket.

SPEAKER_00

But they both look like they were Rhett Sparrow about spy runway. It's so funny. You said Russian spy, and I'm like Rhett Sparrow. You see that movie? No. She's a she's a Russian spy.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, I mean Boris is waiting for this. Boris the time.

SPEAKER_00

Ruby is being harassed by a kid selling candy. She's like, fine, fine. And she's more annoyed. She's like, You gave me nougat. I was like, I like nougat, but okay.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, I d I as soon as he would have said what flavors, I would have been like, a mix between milk and caramel, please. Thank you very much.

SPEAKER_00

I'm okay with anything.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, I love the caramel. If it's not peanut butter in my chocolate, it's gotta be caramel.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, caramel.

SPEAKER_02

I wish I had a candy bar right now. Same. You got a Twix? I have a pastry. No. Okay. Ooh. You know what's so good? A chocolate payday.

SPEAKER_00

You're lucky. Um no, I'm lucky I'm too lazy to leave the house. Because eventually I'm gonna end up I won't be able to fit through my door. Okay, so in a caramello. Oh, I hate you. Can we just go back to crime now? Okay. Thank you. So they're at the checkout. So genius. Mm-hmm. So along with the stuff in the receipt, Beth gets some random stuff.

SPEAKER_02

Well, I think Beth, it seems like Beth is just buying shit. Shit. And and Annie is getting the stuff from the receipt.

SPEAKER_00

So Beth g makes her purchase. She's standing, she goes through the thing. What's her name? Annie's waiting. Wait for the moment. She's waiting for the moment. She's like trying to run stick with her. Yeah. And Beth goes through, sets off the alarm. She's like, oh, the scarf. And the guy's checking her receipt.

SPEAKER_02

The guy runs over there so fast. Right. Which guy jumps into action. Right.

SPEAKER_00

So she has him distracted and the lamb still going off from her purchase. Right. And it goes through Scot free. Right. I was like, genius. I'm proud of them. Yep. Very proud of them. And but let's be let's be real. I'm pretty sure after like one or two, like he checked off one or two items. And Beth being Beth, he let her go anyway. He's like, oh, it's fine. Like she couldn't have.

SPEAKER_02

She says, oh my God, I forgot the scarf.

SPEAKER_00

He probably couldn't have had, but in theory, she could have had the whole bottom of that shopping cart filled with stolen stuff. But you know what I mean? Definitely. Oh, she's right. Fine. It's fine. It's like I've been pulled to the side at Target because I was going to the Sep Chalkat line, and I had a lot of stuff. And the woman's like, oh no, I'll do it. And I'm like, there's an empty, it wasn't, it was a line. And I was just like, fine. Mm-hmm. While you're at it, I need a price check on all this shit. Yeah. You I was proving a point. Like, okay, bitch. Right. But um, yeah, and and she don't think it didn't escape my mind, because I know exactly what she was doing.

SPEAKER_02

Mm-hmm. And Beth plays the whole, like, oh my god, oh my God. You know, like the whole scoff thing. Well, as soon as the thing goes off, she she like jumping. Oh, she gets scared, right? And she's like, oh my god, oh my god, is that me? Like, you know, playing into the whole, like, I'm I'm just a stupid lady. I've just got to be like, I didn't know what I was doing. I didn't know what happened. Oh my god, I would never commit a crime.

SPEAKER_00

So they load up the car with all the goodies on their way to make their way to a different store. So Beth comes home, kind of like, I'm bad. I got this, I'm the shit. And she walks into Dean's web of this. And I think it's funny how Dean is kind of like so high and mighty. And dude, you lie about cancer, but that's a different story.

SPEAKER_02

And he's not sitting there in the dark, but he is sitting there with a drink, which is just, you know, about one link. Sitting in the dark is like an A. Sitting there with the drink is like B. You know? Right. Like you just, you're you're almost there, but not quite.

SPEAKER_00

Not quite there.

SPEAKER_02

Cause yeah. Okay, sorry.

SPEAKER_00

No, I don't know. He tells her um her how Agent Tanner confronted them with the SUV story.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, yeah, no, because he goes, because she walks in and he's like, oh, so what? Blah blah blah, blah, blah, blah. And he's like, she's like, oh yeah, you know, and this person, and then this person, and and we did this, and he's like, cool. She's like, Oh, I'm gonna take a shower. He's like, okay, cool. And after that, maybe you could tell me about how my car ended up at the bottom of the lake. And I was like, all right, give him credit for that.

SPEAKER_00

It was kind of cool.

unknown

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

He got one thing, right? But he is man and he came to save the day. And he goes, I covered for you. I told him that you know I cheated, and she just got back to me by having a draw ride and decided just to fuck my shit up. In Canada, right. But he wants to know the real story. He tells them parts of the real story. He goes, I told you get a job. He goes, but I meant like Panera. Okay, to be fair, nothing wrong with Panera.

SPEAKER_02

No.

SPEAKER_00

But Panera money was not gonna get them out that hole that he dug for them.

SPEAKER_02

You had three mortgages on the house. If you could pay that with a salary at Panera, people would be beating each other together.

SPEAKER_00

We wouldn't be in the position. To begin with. Right. And she plays into it.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, because he's convinced that um bounce house guy took advantage of her.

SPEAKER_00

She's like, Yeah. Yeah, that's exactly what happened.

SPEAKER_02

When he's telling her, he's like, sit down. And she doesn't sit down. And then he yells. And she's like, don't yell at me. Yell at me. And he yells even louder. Sit down. And I was like, she just stares at him. But then she goes and sits down. And I wasn't sure how that was gonna play out. And I'm like, oh, go ahead.

SPEAKER_00

In my head, I'm thinking, she's like, all right, I'm gonna. I think she had the same thing. I'm like, I'm gonna see what happens with this. I think she was like, Shak Shini sit down because he says sit down. She sat down and like, all right, let's see how this plays out. I'm gonna see where he's gonna go with this shit.

SPEAKER_02

And I I know like you've seen this show, right? So maybe you can laugh at me.

SPEAKER_00

Don't remember enough. So I probably won't laugh at you.

SPEAKER_02

I was also, I was, I was wondering if like his sudden ball drop was a turn-on to her. Like all of a sudden, he's kind of like asserting himself instead of being this like wishy-washy idiot.

SPEAKER_00

I don't know. I think that's I think that probably played into it also at first.

SPEAKER_02

I mean, I think it it's more of like what you said, because I was kind of like, oh, she's just appeasing him. Like she's just trying to get out of the scene. You know, she's just trying to move on.

SPEAKER_00

And then plus alone, she's been working with men like Ryo. I don't think Dean could ever get to the point where she's like, oh, you're a man. Dean can never be mad. So I think I think most like.

SPEAKER_02

But I think she it was like a little bit of amusement. Like, look at him trying to be like big tough guy. And I think there was a like mostly amusement, but I would then I was wondering, like, I wonder if it's a little bit of like turn on because he's try but I don't know. I don't know. I I couldn't, I couldn't read her.

SPEAKER_01

Read her.

SPEAKER_00

And to to that point, I don't even think Dean, as long as they've been married, can read her either. Obviously. Clearly not. Clearly not. Next scene is Ruby. She comes home and she goes, I brought home Chinese.

SPEAKER_02

Now, can I just say something?

SPEAKER_01

Besides like Chinese food.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, I always want Chinese food. When you have a household and there's another parent, and you knew that that parent was staying home because you talked about it that morning, and you don't have money to throw away, you don't just bring home Chinese food. You coordinate. Because if a parent is home all day, one would stand to think that that person is making dinner. So you coordinate. Well, maybe it was kind of it's not like Chinese food per se.

SPEAKER_00

It's like if Alex and I Maybe they already had the conversation before Tony showed up. Hey, you know and I don't think it'd be something that's needed to be put into the show.

SPEAKER_02

And I know that I'm overthinking it because it's a TV show, but I it's just like moments like that that kind of like, okay, you're just you're just setting up the next problem, like the next bump. But if Alex is gonna walk in the house with Chinese food, he's gonna say, I'm gonna bring dinner, don't cook. Because if not, I'm gonna cook dinner.

SPEAKER_00

And we don't it might have been the takeout day. It could have been something that like it's already know this is a date that we take out, or that's fair.

SPEAKER_02

But like, even if it because even if it's like takeout day, I just I know, I know. Like, even if I knew Alex is bringing food, if somebody shows up to my house with food, the first thing that I'm gonna do is text and be like, hey, we got food, don't worry. But he was mad, so okay.

SPEAKER_00

Right, this is a different story. Like, yeah, all of sudden, yes.

SPEAKER_02

That's true. That's true. She got home. Okay, you're right.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. Okay. I think at this point, like, oh thing, thanks for the food. And wait, what? She doesn't work there anymore. So I think under normal circumstances, I think that would have happened. Right. Okay.

SPEAKER_02

All right. I'm with you. I'm back.

SPEAKER_00

Okay. So the charade is over.

SPEAKER_02

The game is up.

SPEAKER_00

I'm so stupid right now.

SPEAKER_02

I mean, when Ruby was like, oh, Uncle Tony brought food, even I was shitting my pants.

SPEAKER_00

I was like, I did too. So she sees Tony there. And so apparently he heard about Sarah's relapse and came to bring the family food. He goes, if I had known that there was this is happening in your family, I would never have let you go. And after he leaves, Stan is Stan is rightfully pissed. He's not talking to her. And I think that's the worst. I'd rather you yell at me than show disappointment. I'm like, oh, my heart's broken. I fucked up.

SPEAKER_02

She's like, I'm sorry. And and you know, she's trying to explain, and he's like, Are there no fries? Why gotta be crinkle cut fries?

SPEAKER_00

Like, and she's like, Stop talking about the fries. And I get that. I understood that panic when she said, Stop talking about the fries. I'm like, yes, leave the fries alone. Love me.

SPEAKER_02

For some fries right now. Oh, like with gravy and cheese. Disco fries.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. Or here in the Midwest, because it's so close to Canada, poutine.

SPEAKER_02

Poutine.

SPEAKER_00

Oh. Okay.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. I could use some of that.

SPEAKER_00

Oh god. Food. I'm getting bad as I talk to you. Worth it. And of course, like the final nail in the coffin said by anyone that you love. He said, I don't believe anything you ever that you say thinks. I don't believe anything you say to me.

SPEAKER_02

And I was like, Okay, if they were giving out awards for episodes, he just won the episode. He did. He that face, even I was like, oh shit. Oh shit.

SPEAKER_00

I saw I was like my marriage is over. I like I'm over here crying from the pain.

SPEAKER_02

So the the the venom in his face, it was pain, disappointment, hurt, anger, anger. Yeah, it was all about it.

SPEAKER_00

It was bad for Ruby, but it was But it was great acting. Great for the scene. And we're gonna continue the pro we're gonna continue this pattern of skeletons falling out the closet with the next scene. Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Um oh this was great. This is great. Yes, Nana. Nana Nana is right up there with Stan.

SPEAKER_00

The burn level. She's got silver. I just wanted to like hand out aloe to the to everybody. So Boomer has jealousy. It's just you can see he's turning green. His eyes are flashing green with the jealousy of Annie. And um, he's talking shit about Annie. She's not a good person. He asks like, Have you checked your money? When'd you keep your money? Have you checked where it's at? Because Annie's just a bad person. She goes, So, um, yeah, I saw Jessica in a magazine. She's married with two kids, and yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, and mom's got a husband, and he and she So you're lying. Right. Because he's like, Annie is a loser, and she's like, Annie is not the loser.

SPEAKER_00

So she goes, she actually says, You've always had trouble meeting people, and I thought it wasn't your fault. And here's the line: it isn't. And he goes, he said it isn't. She's like, No, you're the loser. And I was like, not only you're a bad person. She calls him a loser. I know.

SPEAKER_02

And she delivers it just perfectly. Like her whole matter-of-fact, back-handed bullshit was she's like, So I saw in a magazine and I saw on TV, yeah, so and so had a Us Weekly, and there's Jessica Alba, and she's so famous, people want to watch her come out of a gas station. And she's like, it was fake, wasn't it? Like, just you know, like you're talking about. So, did you get this the pink salt or the table salt? Like, it was so like no, no.

SPEAKER_00

Sorry, my bad. She actually says, I love you, Leslie, but Annie's not the loser here. That's what she said. My bad. Okay. So obviously he's still feeling the burn. He has like four third-degree burns.

SPEAKER_02

Oh my god. He has gotten burned by the ladies. And now, and I mean he repeatedly gets burned by Annie. Like, he this is a boy who never was let to touch the hot stove. Like, he didn't learn his lesson. Because now he's just getting burned over and over again. And now Nana burns him.

SPEAKER_00

Like, and then you got burned by your Nana. And then he walks into to get burned again because he's like at the FBI and he's being burned by Taylor. Not Taylor Turner.

SPEAKER_02

He's like banging on the door. He's like, and then turns his back.

SPEAKER_00

I was like, and then gets escorted out.

SPEAKER_02

This is a guy who just I mean, it's it's like such a thing, right? A guy who is incompetent and who just instead of trying to be a better person, you're just trying the next bullshit to bring others down. And it's like, my guy, you haven't learned your lesson. You fail every fucking time. But sure, let's make mistakes. Let's do it again. Yeah, this will end well.

SPEAKER_00

So the girls are at their drop-off place at the park. I kind of like a good park as a drop-off place because I love the swings.

SPEAKER_02

I know when anyone's on the swings, all you hear is the creak.

SPEAKER_00

Creek.

SPEAKER_02

She's like, this place, this place feels so familiar.

SPEAKER_00

Um Ruby tells him that Stan found out about the about getting laid off. Beth comes clean and tells him that Dean knows about what's going on. And Annie goes, oh great, fucking Dean.

SPEAKER_01

Like Dean Z.

SPEAKER_00

Dean's Dean's fucking She's a Dean covered for them before Rio show. She tells him, like Dean covered. And as they're counting the $500,000, you have to say that with respect. $500,000. But ask him, like, how do you keep eluding everyone? He goes, I flip the game. She goes, what does that mean? He goes, I flip the game.

SPEAKER_02

And he's fairly like, well, she knows all those words.

SPEAKER_00

She knows the words, but not in that order. Oh, he's like, you know, while everyone's doing this, I'm doing this. And when someone's doing that, you like you up right up your game. Not that bad. He goes, now I'm over here with a bunch of suburban bitches selling monopoly money. He gives them their 60 G their 60,000. He's like, I'm gonna up it to 750. They're like, what the fuck? He's like, well, you delivered.

SPEAKER_01

Right.

SPEAKER_00

And that's a good thing. And then you're like, fuck. It's good. But you're like, fuck.

SPEAKER_02

You do your job well.

SPEAKER_00

Sometimes if you do your job well, you get fucked in the ass without lube. But yeah, they're celebrating. They're having their martinis. And that Beth drinking her martini is very mad man. I think it's like a homage to madmen.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Not many, I don't know if anyone else noticed that, or maybe just in my head.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, I didn't really put the two together, but I can see it. I did watch Mad Men. I don't I don't remember like a lot of the ins and outs of it.

SPEAKER_00

I didn't watch it, but I've seen enough commercials and trailers and stuff to know this the premise. I'm like, okay, Martini's Mad Men. Yeah. Ad in the 60s. Yeah. Yeah. Pretty, yeah. And this is when they come with the plan. And honestly, it's a good plan. It's a good business plan. They're out in six months. They're gonna have enough money to have no have a her bank account being the black, Ruby's uh medicine for the hospital, and Annie for her thing, and a little honeypot. Mm-hmm. Like just in case. Yeah. And if you don't flip the script again, you have a honeypot. Your capital. Like everyone with money has a ca a separate capital. And I love that. And this is when they get planned.

SPEAKER_02

And I love that Annie's like, you just flip your game. Right, Annie. I think Annie was the one who said it. Because oh, but um, because before they got there, after Rio left, they're goofing on Beth because they're like, Do you understand? And she was like, No, but I wasn't gonna ask again. She's like, No, you can't.

SPEAKER_00

So, but she did, but she didn't. She didn't realize she got it. She's like, You flipped the game.

SPEAKER_02

It suddenly clicked.

SPEAKER_00

Obviously, at this between celebration and Ruby getting home, they come with a plan. Another genius to save Ruby's ass, her marriage. So she's sitting there very, very demure, very mindful. I love that. But she goes, and she tells Stan, like, I didn't tell you because I started the business. Why didn't you tell me? I didn't know it was gonna work. And he's like, all right, is it working? She sticks out one stack. He's like, oh, two stacks, three stacks. She's like, it worked. Yeah, but she wasn't.

SPEAKER_02

She he comes in and she's like, I did something. And you're like, oh shit. Like, she's a little bit more than a little bit. I did a thing. And she's like, I didn't tell you because you would have thought I was crazy. And you know, it's like lending itself to the whole truth. And it's like, I start a business, but business, secret shopping. Although there's a flaw in her plan because you pulled out a lot of fucking money. And what's gonna happen when this police officer to be wants to do his taxes in April?

SPEAKER_00

I think she should have done like maybe one stack.

SPEAKER_02

Instead, put the rest in your bra.

SPEAKER_00

In the sewing kit.

SPEAKER_02

And not and not not because you're keeping it from him per se, but you're protecting him also.

SPEAKER_00

You're protecting him and also in your family. Anyone with common sense were like, yeah, no one makes that much money. But Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, he was too busy smelling it to probably think it through, so he was like, ooh, can I smell it?

SPEAKER_01

Can I touch it? Can I smell it?

SPEAKER_02

I'm not mad at it. I'd be like, put her on the bed. I'm gonna I wanna shimmy.

SPEAKER_01

Uh-huh.

SPEAKER_00

My head won't stop spinning.

SPEAKER_01

Oh. Hold on a second. Okay. I mean, we're almost done at least. You wanna take the lead? Um okay only because it's it's the more I talk, the more it spins.

SPEAKER_02

Okay. Alright. I don't have like good notes, but just interrupt me if I miss anything.

SPEAKER_00

Okay. Oh, I'm sorry. I don't mean to put you on the spot.

SPEAKER_02

No, that's fine. While Stan's still busy smelling his money, Annie goes to Nana. She wants to come clean. She admits that they were there to rob her. And she admits that they did, and she's the little hummel figurine. Yeah, she goes, I couldn't find the little drama boy. And yeah, so she she has like um the accordion play or something. And I know her name is Marion, but I like calling her Nana.

SPEAKER_00

Nana.

SPEAKER_02

And Nana, and Nana is just too busy, like, oh, I I was gonna have a drink because Gloria just had another baby, and Annie is like, did you hear me? And she's like, Well, you probably had a good reason. I don't want to drink alone.

SPEAKER_00

She goes, and I think the way she said it was very Nana-ish. She goes, Did you do it for a good reason? And Yola's like, and I'm pretty, and something tells me in my head that sometime between Annie and the lady showing up to rob her and then to date, I'm pretty sure Nana has looked and made sure she had her money.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, I'm sure she realized her money was still there.

SPEAKER_00

Even before Leslie said something, boomer, I think she already knew that she had the money.

SPEAKER_02

Like I'm just the fact that she, yeah, she's like, I don't trust banks. You know that even though this sweet little unassuming old lady who just let three strangers into her house and it's still probably like okay, let me just make sure the money is still there. And she probably has added since then.

SPEAKER_00

And I'm pretty sure she knew what they wanted for social services, honestly. I don't think she I think especially when she saw Annie there, I don't think she really I don't know. Uh maybe. I think she was do I think she was I think she was playing on the I'm a little old lady. Clean my house. Clean my house. I think she was just really just digging into the like how she was supposed to be, how people perceived her to be. Mm-hmm. But yeah, I'm sorry. I forgot what I was saying. I don't know what the point of that was.

SPEAKER_02

Um, no, you were because uh Annie comes clean. But Nana is just kind of unbothered. It's like, yeah, I I heard you. But like, let's look at let's have a drink to Gloria. Like, let's she's like, is this like like three or four?

SPEAKER_00

She's like, number six.

SPEAKER_02

Are you killing me, Gloria?

SPEAKER_00

My uterus that's no longer there was just like, oh, my after having six kids, I think my use would have jumped out if I had water. Ran away.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. Eek, eek, eek, eek. Like something out of like Looney Tunes. You have a little legs cross.

SPEAKER_00

The fact that we had the same visual. What a sense about us.

SPEAKER_02

Too many cartoons as kids.

SPEAKER_00

And never have we jumped off clips.

SPEAKER_02

I'm just saying or hit anybody with an anvil.

SPEAKER_00

An Anvil.

SPEAKER_02

Blown anybody up with dynamite? Nope. Can't say.

SPEAKER_00

Although I wanted to. Oh, yeah. But that's not something that we I saw in a cartoon. No, but go ahead. Yeah, no. I think people did too much drugs when they were pregnant with this generation.

SPEAKER_02

That was Agnes. That's it that I would say. I like to play Grand Theft Auto, and in real life, I have never run over hookers with the stolen car. Pimps, maybe, but not the hookers.

SPEAKER_00

Down with the patriarchy.

SPEAKER_02

What'd you say?

SPEAKER_00

Down with the patriarchy.

SPEAKER_01

Oh speaking of the patriarchy, fucking boomer. You have to say it like Boomer. Boomer.

SPEAKER_02

He's back at the final frugal fine and frugal, aka Lisa. And he goes to one of the employees who is restocking. And the guy's like, I haven't been double bagging, I promise. Okay, cowboy. And Boomer wants to know about party supplies. He's like, Yeah, I'll whatever. He's like, no, you know, like drugs. Oh, yeah, it's like this aisle. He's like, son. Just him calling anyone son is weird. Yeah, because he he gives off. Grandma just told you you were a loser. You had no business calling anybody son.

SPEAKER_00

Right. He's like that, he's like that guy that dates a married, uh, a single mom of a teenager. He's like, I can or the single mom of a young adult. And like, hey, I want to be your dad.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, no. Mm-mm. Ew. And he's like, yeah, you know, I'm not stupid.

SPEAKER_00

And I know you got something going on because people who bag boy does it like what Range Rovers?

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. Listen, maybe mommy is just telling him to get a job for the experience, okay? Let me tell you where I live, there are plenty of people who are driving brand new fucking cars, okay? And they ain't selling shit. It's because mommy and daddy lets them use their car or gives them a car. So, but but point noted, you know. So he's like, all right, I got and he starts listing, and I I he's like, pills, whatever.

SPEAKER_00

He's like Molly, oh this shit.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, I don't remember. And so Boomer's like, yeah, cool, I'll take it all. Okay. And then we see him open up a locker and put it in. And um I I mean, do we know for sure it's Annie's? I don't think it said, hey, this is Annie's locker, but But who else would it be? Yeah, like who else? Either he's getting himself. I mean, he could have been putting them in his own locker, I guess for safekeeping. But since he's a store manager, I would assume that he's got keys to all the lockers.

SPEAKER_00

Considering he keeps Getting burned by the presses of Annie.

SPEAKER_02

Mm-hmm. Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

And he's a vindictive little fucker.

SPEAKER_02

I know. Yeah. And then we go to Beth's house. Beth arrives home, you know, from her shopping. And Dean's like, I hope you got milk. Fucking stupid. And he's and she, but she can't get into the house, and she's like, hey, my key won't work. And he's like, Yeah, change the locks. I want you to feel safe in your own home.

SPEAKER_00

I think that was the beginning of Beth, like, oh yeah, fuck you, fuck hell no, we're not doing this.

SPEAKER_02

Mm-hmm. And and then he's like, Oh, and I got so-and-so to take the closing shifts. And she's like, Didn't he just have a baby? Yeah, twins. He's like, I don't like you here alone in the dark. And so she is just like, you know what, motherfucker, let me tell you something. And she gets the bags. And she starts to dump the brown paper shopping bags into his lap. And it's just piles of cash. And he's like, What the fuck? And she's like, first of all, I didn't get taken advantage of. I chose to do it. And you don't know the things that I've done. And I'm not the same person. And and just, you know, like this whole I'm not afraid of the dark. Yeah. Oh, I love it. And after she dumps like the third bag of cash, she's like, let the guy go back to his kids. Well back to his baby. She's like, and I'm not afraid of the dark. I was like, oh.

SPEAKER_01

Okay.

SPEAKER_02

Okay.

SPEAKER_00

The whole take it that you changed the locks. You know, Lally decided to change the locks. Told a guy who just had twins he now has a clothes every night. You are the doucheest douche that ever douched at this point.

SPEAKER_02

Well, you're sitting there. Like, if you were so scared, you should have gone and gotten the fucking milk. You should have gone shopping with her. Like, you're not scared. You're you're just going through the performative shit.

SPEAKER_00

This is why, this is what got you in the position that you're in now. This behavior.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. It's performative. Like you sitting on the couch watching TV and eating cereal is not keeping her safe because you changed the locks because you're home. Great. So she's safe in the house. The the threat's usually outside.

SPEAKER_01

They're in the house.

SPEAKER_02

The ball is coming from inside. That movie freaked me the fuck out when I did it. Well, the second one with the bricks.

SPEAKER_00

Do you know I've had a I guess like a glitch of the system sometimes. I used to when I actually have my house phone turned on. I do have a house, I have a landline. I don't keep it on, but I have it for my fax. But um there were times, a couple times where I got phone calls from my number. Like the landline will be dialing from the landline phone number. I'm like, okay, we're not doing this. Yeah. It's happened like maybe once or two, twice in my entire adult life. Probably a glitch in something, but um, I'm like, okay.

SPEAKER_01

So that happened.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Any um thoughts, comments, concerns? Okay.

SPEAKER_02

My question is I mean, I I think it's pretty easy to figure out how the agent knew it was best because Boomer was like, oh yeah, they were stealing a car, and then to that that was easy. How did he find the car in the lake though? That's the part that I don't know if it's important, it's but like I would still like to know how they found the car. And we are also no closer, unless I've missed anything to figuring out how Rio knew it was them in the first place.

SPEAKER_01

That's a big question. You know? I don't know.

SPEAKER_02

And Boomer is just every episode he's just proving himself more and more uncapable. Incapable. And so it's like he's he definitely can't be allowed in on the plan.

SPEAKER_00

He's I thought about that too. I'm like, okay, he definitely didn't know about Rio.

SPEAKER_02

He's a weak guy. Like you don't be you don't want a guy like that.

SPEAKER_00

He obviously did not know at all what the hell was going on. And thinking, I thought about that too while watching, I'm like, how did Mike I didn't ask myself how did Rio know it was a ladies? I was like, how did Rio set up this laundering screen scheme to begin with? Like, what's the how did you get it?

SPEAKER_02

I mean, Boomer's obviously a cog in in the wheel. I think he just doesn't know he's a cog because he he's unpredictable. He's too he follows his dick instead of his brain, and his dick makes him do stupid shit because nobody wants his dick.

SPEAKER_00

Because there's a small dick energy on top of it. Exactly. So you have small dick energy that's doing the thinking that just leads to problems.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. Um and Tyler is also another f well well Tyler is showing us that he's a moron. But maybe he's not. Because it's not like Boomer. Like okay, we're seeing Boomer do shit like we're watching Boomer. With Tyler, Tyler is showing us, if that makes sense.

SPEAKER_00

Yes.

SPEAKER_02

Like he's telling Annie, oh yeah, look, well, look at what an idiot I am. I left twenty thousand dollars worth of merchandise in my unlocked car. Like, who is that stupid? I mean, I'm sure that there are people that's stupid.

SPEAKER_00

But I feel like he's not that stupid.

SPEAKER_02

But that could be a game, that could be a miss um um red herring.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, not a red herring. Not exactly a red herring. But back to Nana, I think that like both of them play into the perceptions that people put them in.

SPEAKER_02

Mm-hmm. Right. A misdirection. That's thank yous, yes. Yeah. Whereas Boomer, it's like every single time we see him, like he's not showing us that he fucked up. He's just fucking up and we're seeing it. Correct. So I don't know. I don't think Tyler is in on whatever it is, but it's not impossible.

SPEAKER_00

But I I don't think he's in on it. I think he just took advantage of like, oh, I got all this shit now. And like I think it's it's something separate.

SPEAKER_02

Mm-hmm. I I just wouldn't be surprised if he was. And I think Boomer is just not because, like, how fucking dumb do you have to be to bring all this attention on yourself if you were? Like, would you go to the FBI? No. No. Would you be constantly bringing attention? Like I I know we we haven't seen the aftermath of the drugs, but why would you be buying drugs from somebody that you work with if you're trying to conduct illegal business at your store? And big illegal business, not like, oh, you know, little tiny misdemeanor shit. Like we're talking about big, big, like grand larceny charges.

SPEAKER_00

So it's for sure that he has no idea what the fuck is going on. Yeah. But how yeah, the how does it click into place? How does the connection? Where's the red string connecting? Where are the pans that the red can the red string is connecting to?

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. I mean, I wouldn't be surprised if Rio owns the fucking supermarket.

SPEAKER_00

Or that?

SPEAKER_02

Like I I'm just saying, like, I wouldn't to me that makes sense.

SPEAKER_00

Like Because he's a businessman. And he got totally right.

SPEAKER_02

Like, you know, I watched Ozark, you know. I I I'm I'm a little up to date on my money laundering. It's easy if you own the business. And it's even better if you're the silent partner, you know, like the um the off-premises owner. And he's got the shell company and then just employs people to to do the hiring, which means that Boomer would have never seen him. He doesn't know. Maybe he has other eyes in the store. Maybe he has um cameras.

SPEAKER_00

If that's the case, he has a that's how he found out that was the ladies, because he saw his own. He's not stupid.

SPEAKER_02

No. So that like to me that could make sense, you know? Maybe he's got boomer bugged.

unknown

Boomer bugged.

SPEAKER_02

I don't know.

SPEAKER_00

But I just think a bug of boom of someone's ass. Boomer, like a boomer bug. Okay, anyway.

SPEAKER_01

Ew. I just ew.

unknown

I know.

SPEAKER_02

I I kind of feel bad for him. The actor though. Oh, because he gets typecast and yeah, and then like I I wonder if he like has trouble having like real relationships in life because they're like ew.

SPEAKER_00

He's probably though, like outside of that character. Because you know, uh being in character can change how you look. And the moment you're no longer out of character, your face changes. Not even talking about makeup, like hair. Yeah. It's like your whole demeanor. Did you see usual suspects with Kevin Spacey? No. Um, never mind that. If you've never seen it, I don't want to ruin it for you because it's a really good movie.

SPEAKER_01

Okay.

SPEAKER_00

But it's it's perception of what you put and what you portray to the public changes how you look. And the moment you decide to take that mask off, you look different. So he probably looks like a totally hot. He's probably a hottie.

SPEAKER_02

And in real life, he's probably like the nicest guy in the world. Like he's he's probably like the best person you could be with.

SPEAKER_00

And he probably doesn't look like Boomer. You know what I mean? I mean, obviously you could tell it's sympathetic, but he'd probably be like, oh.

SPEAKER_02

And no, right. The clothing, the, the, the carry, it's it's everything's yeah.

SPEAKER_00

All right. All right. Until next week. Until. And see what other obstacles fall into ladies' lap that they have to get out of. This all uh okay, as we can see that the pattern for this show, every sh every episode is gonna be some new shit. I want to see the new shit.

SPEAKER_02

And you watched the whole series?

SPEAKER_00

The whole series. As it was airing. So I really don't remember, and I haven't seen it since now.

SPEAKER_02

So did it end on purpose or was it cancelled?

SPEAKER_00

Both. It was, I mean, it was being canceled, so they ended it. So, you know, they knew.

SPEAKER_02

So it has like an an actual end.

SPEAKER_00

Yes.

SPEAKER_02

Okay.

SPEAKER_00

It has an end.

SPEAKER_02

Okay.

SPEAKER_00

I hate when things get canceled. Yeah. But if I'm not mistaken, because they were like, okay, this might get, I think that's kind of like up in the air. I think they ended it, so it but it's set up for another season if they got another season, but at the same time, you're like, okay. Right. This might one of those shit up, okay. Wrapshit up at the same time. All right. Um because you want to know how much you need to drink throughout the F the season, like if you're gonna be disappointed or not.

SPEAKER_02

Well, I don't know. I guess I just want to know, like, are we are we gonna get like some closure? So I wanna pay it. Like, if we're not gonna get closure, then I don't know, like, do I just make up my own theories for shit, or do I just not care enough to?

SPEAKER_00

So the thing with this show, as opposed to Lost, you, if I'm not mistaken, you're not gonna have questions from season one carry over to season four. It's never gonna be like that. So whatever issues or questions or but what ifs that you have.

SPEAKER_02

So then by your logic, by the end of season one, I will know how they knew ladies. Uh, so then I don't know. I'm saying, as far as I remember, like oh, so then okay. So then first of all, no one by your logic by the end of season three, because you said it won't be into season four. So I guess I have up to season three to find. Okay, first of all, no one speaks shit like you do.

SPEAKER_00

That's one.

SPEAKER_02

Okay, so I am fire and water, okay.

SPEAKER_00

And I need tequila. Um, fire.

SPEAKER_02

I am We were we were Alex and I were looking at the zodiac, like you know, your air, earth. But I'm on the cusp. So I am fire and water, which actually, if you know me, works out.

SPEAKER_00

And I am totally air. Axel is on the cus. So he's air and fire. I wonder what and wait, and I think my moon rising, my I think I have I'm a Libra with the Leo rising. People keep fucking with me.

SPEAKER_02

Brittany is really good at that.

SPEAKER_00

I don't know. I don't know why people fuck with me. I don't understand. Like, why do you first of all Leo's exactly whether Leo is, like Leo's a Leo's. My mother was a Leo. She's like, oh, okay. And then one thing about October Libras, we really like we believe in like keeping things balanced. Like, my life needs to be balanced. I need uh peace. Uh September Libras make sure that the internal everything's balanced with internally and they keep everything else away. October Libras will go to fucking war to maintain our peace. Like you disturb it, we will go to war to maintain it. So, you know, and people keep fucking with me. I'm like, why but but why? You you done fucked up. It's not my fault. Um, so yeah, but in short, big picture, if you're not talking to an overthinker that wants to dissect everything in TV land, then that's gonna keep you waiting for an answer for certain things. And it's always new shit popping up. So you don't have to wait to season four. Oh, I had to wait season six for my polar bear situation. I still don't know about the polar bear.

SPEAKER_02

Um You don't have to wait for season six. I think you got your answer in like season three.

SPEAKER_00

Five, four, whatever.

SPEAKER_02

Once they got once they put them in the cages, they were like, oh yeah.

SPEAKER_00

I didn't have to wait 600 episodes to find an answer. Whatever. Okay. But no, they're pretty good with um not holding you hostage. They keep the they keep the show developing, so you're pretty good with you know, you keep you stay entertained. Oh no, no, I'm I'm entertained. I'm just like they stay in some shit. They stay some shit, but you're not like beating your head like I need answers.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. Well, it's not the same kind of show.

SPEAKER_00

I'm just thinking, you know, the show is it's it's satisfying as far as Lost had me highly like it's gonna turn me to an alcoholic at that point. I but at the end of season six, I did like it. So, you know, you won.

SPEAKER_02

Do you have anything else or any more zodiac talk? Or how did that happen? But no, we don't know.

SPEAKER_00

You started it.

SPEAKER_02

I just I started because I said, like, because you call me an overthinker, and I say, yeah. I said, because my signs are like fire and water, so it makes sense that like I do. And then I kind of went to it. I said, listen, you can't start. I always like to elaborate. I you even started talking about like Axel, and I'm like, how did he end up here? But okay. I don't know. I make no sense. You know this. I know. When do I ever make sense, Lisa? Agnes needs your support so she could buy some sense. I need your support because I got some kids going to college. Then you need to deal with Agnes. Oh, yes, and I have to deal with Agnes. And visit SassinSips.com to send that support. But on the reel, don't drink and drive, drink responsibly. And we will be back next time with another episode of Good Girls. And until then, I'm Lisa. And I'm Agnes. And we're out of here. See you later. Bye.

SPEAKER_00

And I like, and I saw it, and I didn't say anything. I'm like, okay, good. Even if we did it by accident, I'm keeping it. Okay. Free soap. Not just okay.

SPEAKER_02

I would use that shit.

SPEAKER_00

Well, it's a cinematic anyway.

unknown

I would have.

SPEAKER_02

Like, I might not wear it. I mean, then you work out of the house. So I might not wash and wear it at work. But like, it's soap. So, like, to go to bed or on the weekends, whatever, like when you're just in the house. Hell yeah, don't fucking use that shit because I'm cheap as hell. I'm frugal. I am fine and frugal.

SPEAKER_00

You are fine and frugal. It's a scent, it's Bath Body Works, and it's actually the same scent I have in my car. My air freshener for my car. Okay. So it's mahogany and teak wood. So it's a scent that I by can't like. I like men's scents because they just I use Alex's soap sometimes.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, so.

SPEAKER_00

It's not something that I don't have in the house anyway.

SPEAKER_02

I wish we could have said more of this on air, because I think that that's funny. Like the the The story? The topic.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, the topic.

SPEAKER_02

Do you use like would you use somebody else's soap?

SPEAKER_00

Or like we'll bring it up somehow. Yeah, but absolutely. But you gave me a look. What was the look for? When I said Bath and Body Works.

SPEAKER_02

And you're like, I didn't know that store still existed.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Mm-hmm. Oh I know. I don't go out.

SPEAKER_00

But it's funny because it's funny because you know that joke, like men, like women have like 600 bottles to take a shower because we need and men have like one bottle for 600 things. It's not in my house. Oh, it's vice versa. So in um it's the men's collection. And it's like, oh, it's three in one face wash, body wash, hairs. I was like, it's funny. I'm like, yeah, that's that's true.

SPEAKER_02

Here, I mean, don't get me wrong, I have my own stuff. But he is not one of those one wash for 700 things. He's got a bottle for everything.

SPEAKER_00

The beard takes it on the beard has its beard supply to begin with.

SPEAKER_02

And the beard has more supplies than everything else. I mean, he's he's even buying the the balming serums. Oh no, he's past the balm. He's up to like serums and he fli he's got his own tools to at least he takes care of it.

SPEAKER_00

I mean, I hate to see him, I think it's so fucking long. I just wanted to clap it. But I know it would be worse to see it long and then not even take care of it.

SPEAKER_02

No, and then what's worse is that he's judgy for everyone that exists with a beard beard. Yes. Yes.

SPEAKER_00

He's getting real female tendencies at this point.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. And then and then like everything that he touches is like greasy. Because you know, like from the like me, I put gel and immediately like I'm washing my hands, or you do your hair and then you wash, because you know you have like my hands are always dry because I'm always washing my hands.

SPEAKER_00

Because of right, face, wash your hands, body, wash your hands, hair, wash your hands. Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Like I went to straighten my hair yesterday.

SPEAKER_00

I see.

SPEAKER_02

I mean, but it was like pouring and really humid, so it didn't keep well.

SPEAKER_00

Well, I woke up, it was like you're like, okay, I guess put your finger in the outlet.

SPEAKER_02

And so when I went into the bathroom to get my brush, I it was buried because I hadn't straightened my hair in months. And I'm moving shit and everything.

SPEAKER_00

I'm like, you know, like because he touching everything.

SPEAKER_02

Because his stuff is on top. So, like, you know, his brush and his tools or whatever, there it like everything was in the shelf, like in a bin, but so mine is like basically at the bottom. So moving the stuff, and I'm like, and then I'm moving his brush from like the sink, and I'm like, everything was like that, like I would call me sticky.

SPEAKER_00

I would sit there and sanitize all of it because it would drive me nutsy cuckoo.

SPEAKER_02

I don't I know I don't touch it. It's just that I was looking for mine, so just looking at it would be like, oh. Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

But at least he takes care of it.

SPEAKER_02

He does. He definitely does.

SPEAKER_00

I can appreciate a man who takes care of themselves.
