SPEAKER_01

Hi, and welcome to this episode of Assassin's Sips. Today we're talking about good girls, season three, episode five. Oh Zou. I'm Lisa and I'm sipping on red wine. Yummy yummy.

SPEAKER_00

It's so cute because you always say yummy yummy after your red wine. You only say that after the red wine.

SPEAKER_01

I know. Do I really?

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, only the red wine.

unknown

Dr.

SPEAKER_01

K is gonna have something to say about that. Oh, I hope she's listening. Hi, Dr. K. In case you're listening.

SPEAKER_00

Lisa enjoyed her birthday. Just want to throw it out there.

SPEAKER_01

So long ago at this point. Okay.

SPEAKER_00

Random. And I'm Agnes, and I am sipping on water tonight. I'm just doing the water. I know. I suck ass. I'm a little boring. But I was trying to be a good girl. Any hot takes on Azou? Other than maybe.

SPEAKER_01

Not really. Um I didn't quite see that happening. But uh, I guess I'm not that surprised, also.

SPEAKER_00

Okay. So interesting. Very interesting.

SPEAKER_01

And also, Dean is a jackass.

SPEAKER_00

Big, huge, gigantic.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. That's I guess that's it from hot takes.

SPEAKER_00

Okay. This scene opens up with, well, not the scene, but the episode opens up with Beth giving out all these custom-ordered invites and all these custom orders, and they are obviously boxes of um money. I think it's so cute. I want to go into a paper supply store, put my order in, and get a box of money. That would be amazing.

SPEAKER_01

That would be amazing. Well, but all and all the boxes were like, you know, Mr. So-and-so's bar mitzvah and so-and-so's baby shower.

SPEAKER_00

Baby shower and the Brits. That was just like, okay, no Brits.

SPEAKER_01

And then you've got like these comically adorned gang members picking up, you know, com comically in the sense of like obviously. Obviously so. In real life. Yeah, in real life, you wouldn't know.

SPEAKER_00

I feel like, right, because is it asking for too much for him to for real to like fake the funk in this? Because he has no fucks given, like at all. And it's funny how he's able to, and I say this loosely, fit into different lifestyles. Remember the golf course, and you've seen him speak to like non-gang members and like regular people, and he sounds just like a regular oh dude, like golly G Willekers. So he's capable, he knows like how to quote unquote read a room, but he doesn't give a fuck. He's gonna send the most tatted up dudes, the scariest misbehaving uh derelicts that he can. And I think he does it intentionally because they're going into her straight lace place of business, and I think it's an act of intimidation on his part to show him like I don't give a fuck. I think it's a I think it's subtle. I think it's a subtle mind fuck for him. Okay, because he's capable of reading the room, quote, you know, fitting in, quote unquote. Tattoos and all, you forget when he's a different persona, you forget you don't see the tattoos. It's like at the when he was with his lawyer at the golf, at the country club, the country club, and and even when he was talking to Lucy, and when he talks to people like regular people, you kind of just see him and not the tattoos. So he's cake so he knows what he's doing. He's sitting these he's setting his goons in intentionally. I just think that.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I just think that it's he just doesn't give a fuck.

SPEAKER_00

I think it's both. He doesn't he does no fucks given. And he's like, while I'm at it, let's fuck with Beth. You know, let's fuck with her. I think if he really doesn't give a fuck, he'll talk like whatever to whoever. I think he doesn't give a fuck nine times out of ten. But he's like, okay, let me play a role. Let me just fuck with somebody, you know, because it's fun, because because I can. So one day when Beth is walking through the back, I call him his head hon show, like his right-hand man, is taking pictures and inspecting the printer. And she's like, What are you doing? Yeah, just just taking a look. And he's obviously we know what he's doing. He's asking her questions about it. She's like, You can look at the manual, but it was it was made before both of us was born. Like, well, no, before the Bible. So pretty much, right? But we know what he's doing. Rio wants to, you know, take care of business without her. Um, so she decides to, as a safety measure, and it actually makes sense, to divvy up like the key components of the money-making operation to the three ladies. The engraving panels. That's what I want to say. Thank you, Agnes. Your brain works once in a blue moon. Um, before she before Annie, no, before Beth comes out, Annie has a foot long on the dashboard and she's cutting into it. And you really can't see what she's using to cut into it. But then Ruby goes, Why are you using a key to cut the sandwich? I don't know that key's been. She goes, Why do you just get two foot longs? I mean, two six inch. She goes, Because the footlong comes with chips and a soda, which she does not share.

SPEAKER_01

I'm not mad at the deal, but I'm with Ruby. Um I'd I'd rather you rip it apart with your bare hands or flat out chew through it like a gopher. Please don't use your cake. I thought it was the funniest thing. Also, you'd you'd better fucking if you're gonna chew through my half of my sandwich, you better be sharing the chips and soda. Thank you.

SPEAKER_00

Very far. So she got a key laced half a sandwich with no chips and soda for her pain. So when Beth actually jumps in the car and gives him the stuff and all that stuff, she goes, Did you give me a sandwich? She and he goes, Yeah. So she takes out her key and she cuts her half with the sandwich.

SPEAKER_01

Also, I feel like you know, places like that would have just given you a plastic knife if you asked for one.

SPEAKER_00

Yep, I'm pretty sure they would. I don't think even have them out already. I'm pretty sure they already have them out. Probably. But would it have it wouldn't have been as funny?

SPEAKER_01

Well, or or here's a notion: just ask the sandwich shop to cut your sandwich. They will, I promise. I'm sorry, I'm not too logical for this conversation.

SPEAKER_00

Annie does not make the best decisions, and I think that's another key to the episode. Like, Annie makes the bet the worst. I know, she makes the best worst decisions.

SPEAKER_01

Or rather, who makes a foot-long sandwich and doesn't cut it?

SPEAKER_00

Cut it to begin with.

SPEAKER_01

Because mine always can't cut. Are we spoiled because like New York City? It's just common sense.

SPEAKER_00

I mean, even here in Wisconsin, they cut your sandwich for you. Yeah. But yeah, okay, that's something to think about. See, the next thing is Ruby, and she's asleep, and she wakes up and she she wakes up to laughter and giggling and talking, and she comes out, and it's Sarah just laughing and giggling and talking to Stanley. And Ruby's feeling some type of way. Like, how the fuck is this child able to just be all happy, happy, joy, joy? This lying, stealing child, and Stan is just going along with it, and everyone's still so happy, and she's just whatever. So she's like, What's going on here? She's like, Oh, Stan goes, Oh, Sarah wanted to catch like the early service this morning, and they got bagels of locks and cream cheese, and they're you know, father-daughter time. It's cute, yeah. But obviously, we know. I think I get Ruby's feelings. Like, why aren't you feeling guilty? Why aren't you like, you know, trying to make up for being a lying, stealing child? Side note, where's the brother? They talk about him, but he's never in it now. Did he go upstairs with all the other kids? I know. He went upstairs and never came back downstairs, I feel like.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. You only you only hear about him, you only see him when it's pertinent. I haven't seen him in a lot.

SPEAKER_00

I haven't seen him in a while, though. I think last time we saw him was when the stripper came by the house. Yeah, maybe. And that was like what two that was like four episodes ago? This is only episode five. I feel like we've anywho. Annie's taking her lunch break, or her she's closing the business, and she's having her little woo-hoo with Chris Kevin. That's his new name, Kevin Chris, or whatever his name is. Yeah. And they do the deed, she's getting dressed, and you find out that he's living in his car. That's his living room. And it's just like, you could see in her face, she's like, yet another fucked up decision I'm making. Um, in case we Alistair has forgotten, Chris Kevin was the guy that knocked on her door like a few episodes ago, and they had had a little quickie on the side of the road before the show even aired. So he's just a random dude that pops up. Like a huge catastrophe. It's a massacre. Dean wakes Beth up, and I think he used massacre. Does he use that word? I don't know. The goldfish are dead. I don't know. The goldfish are dead. Everyone read alert, the goldfish are dead. He's like, What are we gonna do? She goes, I guess you take them to the vet, you know, we tell them we take them to the fish doctor, and we'll figure we'd buy new ones tomorrow while they're at school. And he goes into the laundry room and he finds the engraving plate. And he's livid. I thought you were done with this question. Okay, regardless whether they had sex or not, doesn't he understand? Like with illegal organizations, you just don't quit. But that's just besides the point. And he's going through the drawers and he puts a pair of scissors to the plate. And she's like, Stop, don't do it. I can't. He's gonna kill me. And he's like, You don't care, he's not gonna kill what he loves. And snip. Mindful, be mindful of the whole scissors situation. Keep this in mind for later on in the episode. Um, and this is when I think I think this is when Lisa wanted to kill him, go through the television and and just beat him to a pulp.

SPEAKER_01

First of all, just because you're jealous doesn't mean he loves her, right? Second of all, you realize who he is to the point that you're like, I'm terrified that you want to buy a gun. And then you think, well, the next logical step is to destroy the plate that makes him money, the thing that he actually loves.

SPEAKER_00

Right. Even if he doesn't love, like you still, he's a danger, he's a danger to you. So when she says he's going to kill me, you're like, fuck it. I you I'll call his bluff. Right, dude.

SPEAKER_01

And so, and at the end of the day, Dean, I think what you did is you killed the thing you love or picked up. Absolutely. Out of ridiculous, insecure man jealousy.

SPEAKER_00

Just saying. Because of, you know, the broken plate. Um, Rio's guy comes for another pickup, and Beth has to tell him, you know, it's gonna be a small delay. He's like, you know, Rio's not having that. Like, he's not gonna have that. And she goes, What about if I offer you something in return? He's like, like what? And she says, whatever amount it was, I don't remember. She goes, just for you. He goes, Okay, I'll try to hold him off. So, of course, the girls have no other option but to go back to Lucy and ask her to help with the whole you know, that casino theme charity event thing. Oh, before they do that, like you see Lucy's boyfriend, and he's like, So what how's your flow? And Apax or like he is doing a monthly hygiene run for Lucy, and he is more in tune to what her needs are than I have ever been about my own period.

SPEAKER_01

I mean, I thought my husband was good, but damn. Right?

SPEAKER_00

They ask her for help, and she's like, Yeah, I can't do that. She goes, Well, if it's about ours, I can help cover your hours or we could pay you. She's like, No, I can't, I still can't do it. I'm not comfortable. Yeah, and she pulls up.

SPEAKER_01

I feel like they just they they just totally like did the wrong move, you know. Yeah, with all their bullshit, they should have just, you know, because she was like, Again, and they should have just been like, Well, we know how much you were concerned about the plate the first time around, so we destroyed it, but apparently the charity event was such a big success that they wanted us to do it again, but they she didn't really give them a chance to go to give a backstory because she should have taken the chance. That's what I'm saying.

SPEAKER_00

She should have taken the time, they should have they didn't know she was going to pull out the shredded thing, and they're like, Oh, uh oh. She pulled out like the tape shred of the counterfeit money.

SPEAKER_01

So they're like, Oh, but I don't know, like just be like, I don't know, I don't I don't know. I mean, you know, like because when she said she wasn't comfortable, she pulled out We saw something like that and we destroyed it, and and we just you know, we got nervous, but we're gonna be more careful. I don't know, just what do you had to lose, right? She was already gonna say no.

SPEAKER_00

Well, they told the truth, and she's like, Well, we kind of I think they I think Annie was like, I don't know, she said we're in a jam or something, whatever, you know, our lives are in danger. I don't know what she said. And you know, the boyfriend was like, Hey, I'm going to a store. She's like, I'll go with you. And she leaves them. Okay, so she doesn't, she obviously doesn't trust, she's not comfortable with it. He doesn't trust them enough to do it, but she leaves them in her house.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, well, she was like, Well, let your let yourselves out, or or you guys gotta go. Like, she basically told them to leave, but she didn't really stay there and make sure they left.

SPEAKER_00

That was still like you still left them in your house. I know. Weird, yeah. But like, okay. I mean, she's still like she doesn't feel comfortable, and she's given, I think she was just giving them the benefit of the doubt, and she was like, Yeah, they're still my friends, but you know, whatever. Yeah, Ruby comes home and it's late, and she's he's watching TV with Sarah, and she's like, What is she doing on late watching TV? And they're like, Shush, we're watching this. And okay, Stan shushing her, okay, her daughter opening her mouth.

SPEAKER_01

Like, I would have been like, I would keep those teeth, I paid for them.

SPEAKER_00

I made them and I paid for them. Thank you. At 40-something years old, I still to this day, right now, as we're speaking, I would not yell at my mom because she'll come down and fuck me up. Um, to come through the wall. She's like, I got something for your ass. Um that pissed me off. Yeah. And Stan just didn't do anything about it. So and that that was like the bigger problem, right? That was the biggest problem. Like, you don't talk to your mother that way, regardless. But I think we kind of find out why.

SPEAKER_01

Like, as we learn from conversations with spotlight guests, it's all about the boundaries set by the parents.

SPEAKER_00

Absolutely. We learned a lot from our spotlight guests. I know. I feel so smart because I've speak because I've spoken to these people and I've learned because I'm speaking to shut up, speaking, I caught it.

SPEAKER_01

I I feel so smart too for spoken to people. I is so I is so smart. Ah, smart. Don't be smart. Smarty, smart.

SPEAKER_00

Wow, I hate working right now. So we find out why I think he just let shit slide. So he comes in, she's in the room, and he goes, What was that about, dude? What was you lying your dog talk to her about?

SPEAKER_01

But anyhow, yeah, I think that definitely deserved 20 in the cheese bowl jar.

SPEAKER_00

Seriously. He um she goes, Stanley closed the door. She's never called him Stanley in the 600 episodes we've watched so far. And she tells you, she's like, she did it, she stole it. He goes, and he said, I know. She goes, You know, how long you've known? He goes, she told me when a while ago, and you're okay with it. He goes, I'm not okay with it. He goes, she goes, you're not not okay with it. He goes, well, the guilt, she couldn't live with the guilt, and there's the difference. Watching it, I don't think Ruby lives with this very easily. No, no, so I think, yes, they're going through a lot, and he's like, And I feel like Stan should have known better, and he's going through a lot, and he like he's I don't say he's okay with it, but he's like, this is what it is. I'm accepting, but it's still a lot for him to deal with, and I get that. But you also know Ruby a little bit better than that. So I'm kind of, but you know, this is what the ups and downs, and human nature and feelings and emotion comes into play. Letting his daughter talk to her that way aside, his feelings about everything, I'm not really mad at because it's a whole bunch to deal with.

SPEAKER_01

Well, he's allowed to feel how he feels, yes. That's you know, that's not a an issue for me. It's the whole but but feeling like she's okay with it is totally like yeah, and his question. Well, I it still feels kind of like, but that's your wife, and you know her better than that. But and if and if you think that she could feel that way, why don't you just talk talk with her? You know, I have a question. Here's a question.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, go ahead. Go ahead. Not to be answered. Okay, does he really feel that she feels that way, or is it just his emotions? Just something to think about. Like, you know, sometimes you say things, you feel things, and you really know that's not the truth, but you're just like, ah, so anywho, but yes, you were saying.

SPEAKER_01

Well, I feel very conflicted about what Stan's revelation to Ruby says the family dynamic and the dynamic between mother and daughter. Ruby caught on to Sarah's grift. And she said, I'm gonna cover for you because I don't want to hurt your dad. Fine, but then Sarah went and told Stan, and neither one of them told Ruby. Now, maybe Stan didn't know that Ruby know depending on what Sarah actually told him, right? We weren't there for that conversation, but Sarah knew, and I feel like that is such a bigger betrayal because your mom covered for you so that not only would you not get in trouble, and I know it's mostly because she didn't want Stan to be hurt, but she still saved you from an ass whooping, so you still owe her that much, but then you went and came clean and didn't bother to tell her. Like, listen, I told dad I couldn't live with the guilt. I I just feel like that's such a dick move. Move.

SPEAKER_00

It's and I think this show uh it shows the dynamic between mother and daughter after a certain age. Because complicated mother-daughter relations are extremely complicated, especially once they hit that. Age that pubescent age, it's like World War Three, Four, Five, and Six in a household. And I tell everybody, your daughters come back, they do come back. You lose them for a while, but they come back once they hit a certain like they become adults andor mothers. But this show, this season really highlights the complexity of a mother-daughter relationship.

SPEAKER_01

Well, and I'm not mad at Ruby because it's not going to make it better if she would have gone and confronted Sarah. Like, as much as you want to go grab that kid by the hair and be like, what the fuck? It's not gonna help, you know. No, it's just gonna make it. Because right. You know, the best thing that you can do is just acknowledge, like, oh fuck, this kid's going through some shit, and the more she doesn't want to let me in, you know that really the more she needs you. Yes. So it's hard. It's such such a hard thing to watch, like as a parent, as a you know, even as a daughter, but like okay. I know that's not why we gathered here, but you know, we've gathered you.

SPEAKER_00

As a mother of three daughters, and as a daughter of the mother of a daughter, and as a daughter who almost did make it through puberty alive, and I'm not exaggerating, I feel your I co-signed Lisa, completely co-signed everything you said. I would be doing this, I almost did this podcast as a ghost.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I mean, I have two teenage daughters and one preteen.

SPEAKER_00

Lisa, how do you not like completely like how do you not like an AA or something by now? Oh she goes, like, I have this podcast.

SPEAKER_01

Um I have a podcast. I work a lot. I work a lot. So the girls are um in the car, Ruby is actually I just I just do what every successful parent does, and I'm just best friends with my kids. I give them no rules, no guidelines, I co-sign everything that they do, and I just say yes to everything and I spoil them.

SPEAKER_00

Off the drugs, Lisa.

SPEAKER_01

I was trying to be sarcastic.

SPEAKER_00

I know because I'm like, you're smoking some really good shit.

SPEAKER_01

No, but like but also just do everything the opposite way. I got some good ass kids. Don't tell them I said that.

SPEAKER_00

Well, I should listen to this one episode. You're like, just the episode they listen to. You're like, fuck, I didn't want you to know that. So the girls are in the car, and they're Ruby is stressed the fuck out. They're debating what they should do. Are we gonna do this? Why would the police in the middle of this? Like, we're not choice in a matter now. And you're like, what do we do? And you see her boyfriend like come out the house, and he's doing like these stretch splits. And I was like, Okay, okay, love that for you. He's doing his little power walk, and Beth gives Annie the go. She's like, do it, and so they're gonna kidnap a jus, getting hungrier and hungrier. I know, and I want to I want an Italian beef, double dip, like a dipped Italian beef. Oh, that's the Chicago thing, right? Yeah, it's so fucking good.

SPEAKER_01

I don't I honestly I really only know that from the bear.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, it's so fucking good. It looks it sure looks good. Okay, we didn't get we didn't go to Patillos when you're okay. I'm gonna next time you come back.

SPEAKER_01

If I ever go visit the Midwest again, you'll have to take me.

SPEAKER_00

So Annie's stealing Aju. Aju is not in the cage, so she's just like, fuck.

SPEAKER_01

Who who leaves the fucking house? First of all, you leave your you leave random people in your house when you leave. But if that wasn't bad enough, you'd leave the house, you just let your canary fly, like freeball it all over your house. I like birds. I've had birds and I let them come and go into their cage. I never left the house and left them alone.

SPEAKER_00

I don't am I I mean I like to look at birds, but what'd you say? I said I like to look at birds, but I was gonna say, but I don't think I want to own one, but you cut me off. Am I doing it wrong? It just kind of threw me off.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I don't, I just I I don't I like birds. I don't, you know, I've had birds, I don't have an issue. It's more so what the fuck?

SPEAKER_00

What if you're well to be fair, his walk is his power walk is only 10 minutes long.

SPEAKER_01

Oh you know, I don't know why you have to be logical right now. I really thought I had a point, but fine.

SPEAKER_00

Oh sorry, it's like recessed with a bird, it's only 10 minutes long. Okay, all right.

SPEAKER_01

I just think that you should be home. What if it flies into a into the the glass?

SPEAKER_00

Like they're just gonna fly to the glass, even if you're home though.

SPEAKER_01

But yeah, but then you can like get it attack you know, help it. I don't know, like birds are prone to flying into like the window or the mirror, so you have to be very careful when you let them fly around.

SPEAKER_00

Okay, I said they should know that bird owners, and I mean obviously they've had this bird longer than five minutes, so maybe the bird is used to the house. The bird knows not to fly into the mirror.

SPEAKER_01

Maybe maybe it's a genius bird, maybe because you know birds are so smart, they are smarter than these two-legged people walking around. I don't know. I had parakeets, my parakeets were cute, and I had a cat, and my cat was a lover boy, and the cat the the bird used to fly around the house, even you know, with the cat because he just he liked the birds, but then one day the bird landed on his head, and he was what confused, stressed and ran away.

SPEAKER_00

What I need to get out of here.

SPEAKER_01

You never saw a cat run away from a bird so fast, dude. I think he has it backwards, but okay. He definitely, and the funny thing is that he looked you know, tuxedo, he looked like Sylvester, right? That's funny. I mean, the bird wasn't yellow, it was like blue, but but yeah, he ran away from the bird so fast, he got so scared because it landed on him. But the bird was comfortable, yeah. Bird was just comfortable because he, you know, they would walk on the floor and he would just lay there, like he, you know, he he was just not that kind of cat. He he didn't know how to cat, he just knew how to like love other animals. He was a big old kitty hippie. Aww, I miss him, he's my best boy.

SPEAKER_00

While she's uh burglaring, Ruby and Beth are in the car. And Ruby's like, he's gonna leave me. Stan's gonna divorce me. And he's like, but for what? She goes, What do you mean for what? For this, and and she goes, Well, how much time do we have? She's like, I don't know, because I hit the lap option. She goes, What does that mean? She goes, I don't know.

SPEAKER_01

I'm like, how do you not know what that means? I know.

SPEAKER_00

She goes, Well, can we just like add them? She goes, I don't know. I don't want to stop it. Okay, I don't want to mess up what I got because I might be worse. So Lucy's boyfriend does come home and they're like, Annie, get out of the house. And of course, Annie's out carrying the bird in an oven mint. And then Beth is like, why didn't you just put it in the cage?

SPEAKER_01

And Ruby's Annie's just looking like don't ask. Like, oh, that was a fucking option.

SPEAKER_00

I'm sorry, I'm just laughing at it. I can't stop. So the next scene, you see, Rio, as I said before, I mentioned earlier, he goes to the paper pocupine, and he's, you know, talking up to Lucy. And and it comes out that Lucy does all the artwork for the custom stuff. She's like, Yeah, I do all the graphics, and then I make the engraving plates. And he's like, you know what? I think you're exactly who I need to help me. I'm trying to give the last person I was working with, but I think you are exactly who I could do with that. And we're like, uh uh. And as she's talking, I know you, I know me, and everyone who watched this was like, just shut up. Stop talking. Lucy, no. Don't do it, Lucy. Don't do it. And now we have Annie back home. Ben comes home pissed. And she's like, What's going on? She's like, he's going to the bathroom, and she goes, What's going on? What's happening? He goes, Your boyfriend just asked you for tissue because he's living in the fucking car by your house. And he said, Since you guys are a couple now, he needs to live close by. He goes, Why do you do this? And we all know what mean what then means when he says, Why did you do this? Yeah. And she goes, Don't go in the bathroom. And he's like, he goes to get the tissues and the toilet paper, rather. And he goes, Why is there a bird in here? He's just like, There's a bird in here. He's just stressed the fuck out. Annie makes the worst decisions ever. Annie's not, and she's a loving mother, but she's not a mother. You know what I mean? Like, she's doesn't give it. But you know what?

SPEAKER_01

It may, it may be traumatic now, but wait until that kid is writing the best of the childhood. Or 10 or 10 and 15 years from now, you know, we're playing this with his cousins, and he's like, and then I went to the bathroom. I was like, why is there a fucking bird in here? But what is it? And then I have a big old laugh.

SPEAKER_00

They don't have any cousins. I don't think they have any cousins because they don't mention any siblings. Oh, never mind. I'm thinking about Gregor's. I'm like, he doesn't have any siblings. Never mind. Who the fuck is enhanced here?

SPEAKER_01

Um, yes, you know, Kenny Boland and Are you so stupid? Leave me alone. This is Boland.

SPEAKER_00

I don't I don't know what their names are, but to be fair, those kids you enhance is still better than me not enhanced. So this is my normal. I'm probably better when I'm enhanced. Like my brain works. Well, um, that's yes, he's cousins.

SPEAKER_01

I forgot he had. I was sorry. One day, 15 years from now, they're gonna be sitting in a cabin somewhere, drinking themselves stupid, and saying, and then what about when my mother did this? Oh, yeah, but then what about the time I came home and there was a fucking bird in the bathroom?

SPEAKER_02

Like you could you could hear it already, right?

SPEAKER_01

I can hear it already. And then my mother was with working for this guy and he shot my dad. Like, they're gonna have trauma on them fits, and they're gonna deserve it. I mean, what the I think that's trauma.

SPEAKER_00

I think that's trauma wasted on that generation because if it was our generation, we would have done something useful with it.

SPEAKER_01

Well, if it was our generation, we wouldn't have to wait 15 years before we were sitting around with some drinks, it might be like the next week exactly drinking a 40 that we got from okay.

SPEAKER_00

Stop the good old days on Cart Street, and uh like mine's a little bit further down, but we used to sit in St. Mary's Park or that park, that little triangle park. It was like a little by 142. Yes, I used to sit out there with Nicole.

SPEAKER_01

I spent many a morning there. Okay, I didn't drinking, it was before school. We were we were just hanging out on the swings, but we used to go there every morning. No, I know, I know. People did lots of terrible, terrible things in that park.

SPEAKER_00

Then I actually did not I do terrible things, you know, and then St. Mary's Park, then when they're building up, they had it like no one can go in there, but we're always going in there before it was done. Anyway, good times. So after the bird fiasco, the ladies are back in the car and they're looking at all the pictures that Annie took of Ojou, like threatening, quote unquote threatening pictures. And then she goes, she goes, I was trying to get him inside, but you know, every time I turn up, I'm like, down here, freak out. And then I'm just like, and then the one with the with the butcher knife, and Beth was like, I don't buy that. And then they're like, What do you mean?

SPEAKER_01

They were like so artistic almost, you know? And it would be like some like weird animal version of like an Ann Getty's paint painting, you know. She goes, right, whatever it is.

SPEAKER_00

When she's like, I don't buy it. Ruth is like, what do you mean, Ansel? Was it well Ansel Adams? Yeah, Adams. He goes, Well, maybe if they use scissors instead, and I was like, Oh, I think thank you, Dean. That gave her the idea with the whole scissors. I think that's why it was so threatening. Because she was like, I think that's a little bit more threatening. And I was like, uh, okay. And I wonder if the two were connected because of the scissors and the plate. Yeah, I didn't catch that. I crossed something Lisa didn't catch. Okay, mark the fucking calendars. This never happens, like ever. Ever.

SPEAKER_01

All right, Lisa. I did not catch that.

unknown

Huh?

SPEAKER_01

Let me take a sip.

SPEAKER_00

I'm just taking a sip of her happy juice.

SPEAKER_01

All right, yeah, yummy, yummy. It's Sunday, it's the day for Jesus juice.

SPEAKER_00

So they're trying to, they're like, fine, we just go with the picture, the garbage disposal. I know. So they go inside, and who's there? It's Lucy and the gang. Literally, the gang. And they're like, oh fuck. Oops, oopsie, boopsy, and of course, Lucy is doesn't know really what she's into, and she's scared. Obviously, she's definitely scared, but she really thinks that everything's going to be fine. Bless her heart. I know. And then, of course.

SPEAKER_01

Can I say that if I'm not southerned?

SPEAKER_00

Yes, we can. Okay. Um, and at this point, the worst customer in the history of time comes in. And Lucy's like, that's Mrs. So and so. I told you to come in after we closed for her, you know, for her order. And Beth goes with her, and she tries to tell, like, you need to go. Like, just go now. She's like, no, she's convinced like everything's gonna be fine. Like, once she does this, they're gonna let her go, and everything is gonna be hunky dory. And of course, this customer is typically like, girl, you already know the store's closed, but then she wants to look at this the envelope, that envelope, and then here's the list. I would have been like, you know what? Email me that fucking list. Like, who comes in with a list of people to send it to or to write it out to with it like off the top of your fucking head? Like, anyway. Yeah. And then Dean, he has his own problems right now with the kids, and he's questioned about them the fish. And he has this I know this fantastical tale about how the fish doctors found that they were special and magical and they're going to this special school. It's like the X-Men meets Harry Potter, and the dog's like, Did you flush them? Kenny said she saw you flush them. He's like, But that's how you get to this magical school. I was just like, Good save. What else could you have said? I mean, at this point, the story's too crazy to believe. I mean, he went overboard, you know.

SPEAKER_01

If you believe that there's like a Magic Hogwarts X-Men school for fish, you believe that the path is through the toilet. No, but they didn't believe.

SPEAKER_00

I mean, why even start off with something like that? That's the whole point. Why even start off with the story to begin with? That's a whole separate whole different issue. That's a whole different episode for us. So they go back, and after everything is said and done, Rio goes, okay, let's go, ladies. We're going for a ride. You want to ride home again? You're right home. And Brothers like trying her best to protect Lucy. And honestly, I don't think it's their fault, side note, because let's say Lucy had nothing to do with the engraving. The fact that she does have that skill, real world rubbed her in to begin with. Yeah. And I feel bad. Um, so anyway, she's like, no, it's fine, we're gonna go. And so they get into the Lucy gets in a van with the guys, and the girl's like, no, we're not getting in. And Beth was like, you know, you might have her plates, but you need all of us, you know. She's like, and she's going through what happens if you don't get the right shade, like the you don't get the the glow. She's like, how long did it take you, Ruby? She goes, it took some time. Right. And then she goes, and what about too much water and the for the pulp? And then she goes, just because she gave you the cookbook does not make you does not mean you can make the dishes. You need all of us. And she refers to Lucy also because she knows it's not gonna go, they all get in that van, they're not getting out. He goes, I don't need all of you, and he goes and he shoots Lucy. This is when the girls, if they didn't understand before, they understand now there is some real shit with Rio. And I think the reality actually hit them because like he's always threatened to kill them with a gun to the head and all the other shit. I'm gonna kill you, and da-da-da. But it never happened, and now it's just like, oh shit. This dude's really a gang man, like he don't give a fuck. Surprise, surprise, surprise. Um, Ruby goes home and she tells the stand, don't leave me. He goes, Don't keep moving the remote control, and it's fine. She's like, No, I'm serious. And he goes, I didn't watch it today because I didn't know who the remote control was. Um, she's like, Don't leave me. He's like, No, as long as you don't move the remote control, we're fine. And then I think that was once again. I love them. I do love them. I do hate looking for the remote control. Listen, I live alone in the room.

SPEAKER_01

I can't tell you how many times I can't tell you how many times I can't find it and get frustrated, and I call him at work, like, where is the fucking remote control? He's like, gotta be. And I'm like, but it's not.

SPEAKER_00

And you know that joke that says when the remote control is missing, trust goes out the window for the whole family. Hell fucking yeah, and it's so funny because I'm like, I like that with the camp. Like, all right, Simon, get up, get move. And you know what? It's he's usually laying on.

SPEAKER_01

It's you, it is usually under an animal.

SPEAKER_00

Yes. Um, Annie just she has a she goes and loves on Ben. He's like, What's she's like, I just need to sleep with you tonight. He goes, Am I too old for this? Right? And he's like, please. Listen, I was 40 something years old, and I had moments that has to be my mom. I'm like, mom, I wasn't my I wasn't even my mom. You're also too adults at this point. Okay, teenager.

SPEAKER_01

You're not you're not a kid trying to be not a kid, yeah. Yeah, I remember this one time. I would not have liked that.

SPEAKER_00

And you know my daughter, you know, Krista, and she used to get really bad migraines. And there's one time, you don't know, I don't know what it is. You could be in a deep, I was in like a coma. Like, I didn't hear shit. I didn't know shit, I didn't hear shit, but I looked, I knew she was in the room, and I'm like, what's wrong? You know, yeah, you could feel when they stand there. She goes, What's wrong? I said, What's wrong? She's like, Can I sleep with you? My head hurts. So I'm like, uh-huh. And every so often, like, when she comes to pick up the kids, like, she'll get in the bed with both of all of us. And I was like, this is like the best thing ever. Just to have all my babies in one spot. But anyway, I digress. Um, she goes, just don't be mad at me for right now, but just tonight, the next day is um Beth is with um Aju. Aju's in the house, and Dane's like, hey, when did we get this? He goes, It's a rescue. It kind of is a rescue now. And they have their little moment, and he's like, I didn't mean to make things worse. She's like, That makes things worse. He's like, Yeah, he goes, Was he mad? She's like, and I'm in her head, I can't sure she's picturing the gun going off. She's like, Yeah. Um, he goes, I you know, I told you he was gonna kill someone he killed what he loves. She goes, but it's not me he loves, it's the money. Exactly. And he and I think he felt stupid at that point. I hope so too. And of course, at the end, you know, Beth is at work, and Lucy's boyfriend comes looking for her, and he's worried about her, obviously. Too soon for the cops to do anything, and all that jazz. And she goes, just try keep calling her, she'll be okay. And he calls, and of course, her phone vibrates with that person's right there. And so, yeah, that was the very sad, depressing ending to a very traumatic episode. Yeah. Any hotel, anything you want to say about anything other than I lost my mind, I forgot that Ben has cousins. Don't mind me. I used to be smart.

SPEAKER_01

We know they're not gonna invite you to that reunion.

SPEAKER_00

No, no, no, no, no, no. Probably not. Shit, I don't think they're gonna come to their own reunion after no, especially because they're fake.

SPEAKER_01

But but besides that, smart ass. Thank you. You're very smart. Yay! I just I just think that you know, from the get, Rio keeps telling her, when you have a bad apple, you take care of it. And Beth always finds a way to kind of skirt that. And I think that this was Rio kind of getting back at her, but making a point and like reminding her, this is how fast, this is how quick, but also like a punishment because of all the bullshit that she's put him through.

SPEAKER_00

Where every time almost killed him, you know right.

SPEAKER_01

Well, that's what's gonna say, right? Like every single time she can handle the bad egg, she doesn't makes a bigger problem. He comes cleans it up, and then she doesn't shoot Dean, he shoots Dean, but she's still like, hey, but I love Dean, kind of a little bit, but I'll fuck around with you. But then when you give me the gun to kill the agent who's investigating you, right? Kill the bad apple, you don't kill the quote bad apple, you shoot me. So yeah, I think that part of it was him metaphorically shooting her. Does that make sense?

SPEAKER_00

Makes perfect sense.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, okay, because you're just like, uh is this thing on?

SPEAKER_00

Sorry, you're making sense. I didn't want to interrupt you. Okay, oh you're so used to me cutting you off. Sorry, my bad. Or not making sense either way. You always make sense. Oh, you're so kind. I know I try to be. Any thoughts about next week's episode? I have no idea. She's like, I what just when you try to figure it out, you're like, I didn't think this was gonna happen. Maybe Lucy's not gonna be dead.

SPEAKER_01

Maybe not. Um, and I feel that way because I feel like I've seen previews with her in it. But you don't watch previews, no, but you know, like if you go on um like IMDB, like sometimes when I go on to see like the date when the episode came out, they play clips, and I feel like I've seen her more. And this is why I don't like previews because that's the only, but I guess we'll see.

SPEAKER_00

We shall see. Or maybe you you're just your imagination. Maybe it's a flashback. Who knows? Maybe just one too many gummies. I don't know. I don't think that's it. So I think that is all for this episode. Unless you have anything else to add, I'm plumb out of words. I got nothing.

SPEAKER_01

Except go to assassinsips.com. Don't drink and drive, drink responsibly, text us stuff, and until next time, I'm Lisa.

SPEAKER_00

And I'm Agnes. And we're out of here. See you later. Bye. Any hot takes? And I don't mean on my decaffeinated non-alcoholic beverage.

SPEAKER_01

Well, considering that this episode comes out before that one, okay. So that's like out months in the future.

SPEAKER_00

We'll edit this out then. Yes. Hold that thought. Okay. Okay.

SPEAKER_01

Can I put it down now? That was what? Can I put it down now?

SPEAKER_00

You are such an ass. Hey, chill. I love you so fucking much. Um, you know what? On that note, she's at least a Magnus Bog.
