SPEAKER_00

Hi, and welcome to this episode of Assassin's Tips. Today we're talking about good girls, season four, episode four, Dave. I'm Lisa, and I am actually only sipping on coffee this morning because I just woke up. And I it was it was it was not a lot of sleep. So yeah.

SPEAKER_01

And I'm Agnes, your otherwise normal co-host, just joking, because I'm so far from normal. And I too am drinking unlaced coffee because I have adulting to do today, also.

SPEAKER_00

Boo, tomatoes, um, at least mine has caffeine in it.

SPEAKER_01

Shut up. Anyhow, you're not gonna let me live that down, are you? I guess not.

SPEAKER_00

We'll see. We'll see what happens. It has been a long week for me. I know. So my pool crapped out this winter. The stupid crazy winter that we had, the ice actually destroyed my pool, and now we are in process of replacing it. But right now we just have a big pool size gap in our yard because there's nothing there, and it's so weird to look at.

SPEAKER_01

All this space and this and all the work you did last time with the with the deck, you're like, fuck me.

SPEAKER_00

Well, we but but we didn't do it on the pool deck.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, it wasn't the pool deck.

SPEAKER_00

No, it was just like the regular death, the regular deck of the house, yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Okay, okay, okay.

SPEAKER_00

So that's that's painful. Although last year we did purchase like a whole new filter. Well, it's ready for the pool. Yeah. And I purchased like the supply because the top ledges had some rust on it. So I had purchased the supplies so that I can um like clean it and paint it. And I was like, well, yeah, I you know, I mean, I didn't spend a lot, like the stuff wasn't that expensive, but at least I didn't have to put in the work yet. So right.

SPEAKER_01

Because this stuff, if it's not you, you're gonna need it eventually. You know, it's stuff that you're gonna need. It's like a staple, a pool staple, maybe not even soon.

SPEAKER_00

I don't, I don't, I don't think so. I'm trying to oh, okay, because I sure I'd I'd rather just lose like the 30 bucks that I spent on supplies than think that it in my foreseeable future, this this new pool that I just dropped some cash on is gonna rust. So I mean I'd rather lose the 30 bucks.

SPEAKER_01

I mean, listen, you'll be there for yes, you're forever home, unless we get the lotto, but you know, 15, 20 years on the road, you might need it.

SPEAKER_00

15, 20 years down the road, I'll be 66 years old and I will not be scrubbing rust off of bulls.

SPEAKER_01

Your grandkids, hello, your future son-in-laws, or your you know, somebody. I don't know. Or daughters-in-laws, you know, or daughters-whatever, but I'm not doing it.

SPEAKER_00

Whatever, but I'm not doing it.

SPEAKER_01

Try to make you feel better about spending$30. Down the down the crap.

SPEAKER_00

I I don't feel bad about it. Oh, in that case, let me shut up. That's what I'm saying. I don't feel bad about it. I I it's like spending 30 bucks, and I just I mean, even though I just spent more than that on the pool, but like I just got rid of about probably eight to ten hours worth of work. So, yay. That's what I'm saying. I don't feel bad about it. I'm glad I didn't do it. Yay, I'd rather lose that money than have had to have done it. And especially if this is what was gonna happen. Happen.

SPEAKER_01

That is, I do not want to pull. I don't want to pull. Even with like pipe dream, and if money isn't an issue, I still don't want to pull because I don't want to do with the headache of a pool. You know, just me personally. I'm like, no, no, I'm I don't care about pools. So I do like a pool. The hot tank.

SPEAKER_00

I like to go out on my lunch breaks, especially, and put on music, and that's like my quiet Lisa time, or I read a book as I float. And even though obviously you can't we don't have a heater, but even though you can't really swim in like the end of September to October, though days are warm enough. Well, no, I'll still I still sit on like the big float. Oh, see? And like as long as I don't fall in, I won't freeze to death. I mean, it's not you know, it's not that cold, it's just too cold for my taste, but yeah, and it's just still the kids are back in school, it's quiet, and I'm just like la la la floating. It's peaceful, the the feeling of the water is just so peaceful for me. Anyway, enough about my pool saga.

SPEAKER_01

Any hot takes in this episode? Dave. Also, there was a movie titled Dave with Kevin Klein. In case you don't remember, in case you don't remember, we went to see that movie when we went to Washington, DC in Crystal City.

SPEAKER_00

I don't know if I was on that trip.

SPEAKER_01

You need to go to the DC trip in eighth grade.

SPEAKER_00

I don't think I don't think we could afford those trips.

SPEAKER_01

Okay, never mind then. Oh, there was also it was seventh grade or whatever. It was the it was in 142.

SPEAKER_00

There was also a lost episode called Dave. Name Dave. Yep. And Kevin Klein, doesn't he do the voice of Mr. Fishoder on Bob's burgers? He might. I don't know. Oh, you don't watch that shit. No, I don't know how we're friends.

SPEAKER_01

I don't know either. That's what I said daily. I love Bob's burgers. I do twerk like um, whatchamacallit does. Tina. Yeah, I do twerk like her. She does love her butts. For someone who doesn't watch it, I know enough about it. Okay, all right. Uh oh. I just don't know. Uh-huh. You just don't know. I just don't know the voice who does the voices of the characters. I don't know their life story. I don't know what the the character development is.

SPEAKER_00

I just alright. Let's go now. Just my Linda. Alright. Anyway, I don't really have so much of a hot take as the whole episode. She had this like ultimatum presented to her. And she figured it out. She enlisted the help. The help came through, but then at the end, the help was like, wait, what? I just wish that I knew exactly what Beth told him. And obviously, it's not. Well, maybe maybe it should be, but maybe it's not to me. I'm kind of curious to what Beth told him because if she told him the truth about the investigation, things still don't add up. And so that's all. I'm just kind of like confused. I'll explain why.

SPEAKER_01

But we'll go through the episode and then maybe as we're talking about it, it'll click for you. Okay. Two questions I have. Why does why does Bet's kids look different? I feel like they've used different kids. That's just me.

SPEAKER_00

Well, maybe that's maybe that's because they it's been four years in real life, but it's been like a few months in the show, and they grow up.

SPEAKER_01

I just feel like they don't show them a lot.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, they do.

SPEAKER_01

And this is the first time, and then I feel like one, they're missing a kid.

SPEAKER_00

And there's always one missing.

SPEAKER_01

It's always one missing, and I feel like this is the first time in a long time where you actually they're head-on.

SPEAKER_00

And I feel like you always only hear the names Kenny and Jane. Do the other two have names? I right.

SPEAKER_01

This whole and speaking of kids, I wonder what happened to Mary Pat. Maybe the kids ate her.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. They were they were a little barrel. I mean, yeah, and they were tight on money. So maybe they liked cats and they got hungry, and that was it. She was a good meal. So that she could go work at St. Dennis. They had a they had before St.

SPEAKER_01

Dennis, there was Emergence. I loved Emergence.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, I didn't know that.

SPEAKER_01

It was a really good one. Okay. And of course, it was during that year where all the exceptionally good shows were canceled after a season.

SPEAKER_00

And I was like, fuck, you people suck. Yeah, everyone wants like this fucking instant gratification. And it's like, dude, give us a chance. Like, we we are all like collectively like struggling and triggered and sinking. Let's let us have these shows.

SPEAKER_01

And I'm pretty sure, like, yes, there was streaming and not there wasn't so much streaming, there was a lot of DVRing happening then. And I'm pretty sure. Oh, by 2019, I was already on uh solely streaming. But they weren't well, as far as ratings and tracking, I don't think they really truly realized how important streaming and DVRing was to their. They weren't waiting for people, okay. Season's over, let me watch. They weren't waiting the and when I say they, I mean no, I get it.

SPEAKER_00

They weren't waiting to see what was going to happen.

unknown

Right.

SPEAKER_00

That's what I'm saying. It's like they want instant gratification, they want the episode to release, and they want the numbers to hit, not understanding that people were not watching TV by appointment anymore. And the numbers will get there, but you had to give it a little bit of time. You had to allow people some grace to find the show and then catch up on the show and and watch in non-traditional ways. And they were like, No, just no. And then you canceled some good shit.

SPEAKER_01

They suck.

SPEAKER_00

Mm-hmm. Suck. I should be in charge. I should just be in charge of the TV networks, too.

SPEAKER_01

Okay. There is a husband in jail, gang friend, and the feds, and a hit man. And Beth is kind of just spinning because she's a lot going on in her life. Just a little bit. So it's not one problem, there's another. So this episode we watched Beth make a play that I don't think Lisa got. So we're gonna talk through this episode.

SPEAKER_00

I understood it, right? Like I thought I understood it until the end. And then then there was just something that just made me pause. That's I guess more accurate. Okay.

SPEAKER_01

Dean's not leaving jail anytime soon. So Beth is trying to put the pressure on her hitman lover. Oh no, her hitman paramo or her her stalker, her boyfriend. I don't know. The guy who likes her. And who shows up at her door but the big kahuna and Phoebe? And to answer Lisa's question from last week, yes, Phoebe did see what she wrote in the back of the picture. They want her to roll over on Rio. And she's like, I can't do this. You killed me, all that other bullshit. You're like, well, you know. She was like, I'm a mom. How are you gonna no one's gonna believe that I wrote that? Yeah, and she's like having her fridge ransacked, right? She goes, What? Yeah. And judge, girl, you don't brush your teeth half the time. How are you gonna judge what's in her freezer and her fridge? But anyway, that's offensive. Not that she's being judged, but by she's being judged by her. So she pulls off the shopping list. I'm assuming that's on the refrigerator. And they're like, ah, looks like a match to me.

SPEAKER_00

They both they both turn it around simultaneously, like they're turning letters on Wheel of Fortune. Like, you know, they're like, I know, I know you guys can't see, but like, you know, it's just like, look. It was it was a good scene. Like it was well choreographed.

SPEAKER_01

They're like, well, either you flip, or we're winding up the whole posse. I think a Dave says, you better call the rest of the posse, let them know we're coming for them. Stan, meanwhile, is still being the and I don't know his name. Gene. Gene's shady bitch, and you know, getting him his money and breaking like vending machines. Like, really? I'm thinking he's more. I thought he was gonna go in as uh like the enforcer, and you know, no, not breaking laundry.

SPEAKER_00

No, yeah, because you see him coming home with like busted knuckles, right? You think he's pull up, yeah. And then you see like a clip of him just like pounding, pounding, pounding, but you don't see who he's hitting, and then later it like goes back and you and it kind of cuts away, and you see he's beating up a cash register, and the guy's like there's a key tape. Yeah, the key's tape to the side, but he hasn't doing like penny antsy shit, right? Stuff like that, like beating up machines, and you can tell it's really taking a toll on him.

SPEAKER_01

Like this whole shit's taking a toll on him. Like, he's gone from going to the police academy and being a cop to this. On a lighter note, Annie has been making some progress and adulting. She's seen Josh, she's trying to get her shit together the best she can. Um, she obviously misses Ben. And in the later scene, he catches her at his game and she's just running away. Love her jacket, by the way. I have a pink one just like that.

SPEAKER_00

I don't know how much progress she's. I mean, I think she's making progress with Ben, but I don't know how much progress she's making with the therapist. Well, for her, you have to think subjectively.

unknown

Okay.

SPEAKER_01

I think Annie, she's making progress. She always takes two steps forward, one step back.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, it still just felt to me like like you're there kind of showing off, trying to still hold on to his attention more than you are seeking his help and guidance.

SPEAKER_01

Well, I mean, yes, that's my interpretation, but she still comes clean. He goes, she's like, Yeah, I'm adulting, I'm I'm made a fatara. And he's like, Really? She's like, No, but I tried. And she and then he opens up and she's but she's going. No, no, no, right, right, right. And she's she's building those bridges again. So she's making progress. Right.

SPEAKER_00

And but I feel like it's it's exactly that, right? Like she's giving Ben his space, but in the interim, she's trying to fill that void with attention from the therapist.

SPEAKER_01

Possibly. Better step better. I'd rather her go to therapy than still mess around with the homeless dude. Because bit like Annie of two weeks ago would have been getting attention from the homeless guy. She's going to therapy. Going back now, because Annie didn't have much, there wasn't a lot of Annie-centric moments here. So I just threw her in there and we can move on.

SPEAKER_00

Is it wrong that I'm okay with that?

SPEAKER_01

No, it's not wrong. Beth pitches the idea of helping the agents to Ruby and Annie, and they're trying to figure out if they do help, they'll be relocated anywhere they want. It's like they never exist, Beth says. But Annie goes, and the very, very salient point. If we knock off Rio, the deal goes away. And it's like, shit. So they go to track down um HitMat friend, and this dude has disappeared. He is gone. So they go back to the original guy, the no arm guy, to ask, like, we need a bath, we need to get in contact with him. He goes, Okay, I'm gonna need a favor. You know, there's certain things that I can't take care of anymore. And they're like, wait, what? Hold up, wait a minute. And it turns out he needs, he has a grocery list of things that he needs to purchase. And it's what is it? It's um roof nails, nails, bottles, a fertilizer, all these fun things. And then wait, and it clicks to Beth and Annie. And Ruby's like, what? What? And he goes, Remember when you were singing, I can't forgot, I forgot what song. She's like, Yeah, I knocked the house down. She's like, No, at my birthday. She's like, Yeah, raise the roof. And she goes like, no, the other birthday. She goes, I and then it gruts out. So they think he's making a bomb. And honestly, you see, unfortunately, we live in a time where if I see fertilizer, I'm going straight to bomb. I'm not going towards.

SPEAKER_00

I mean We have watched enough law and order and documentaries and CSI and criminal intent and snapped and disappeared and ID discovery to know you're making a bomb.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. They get home and then Henny's doing her little research. And she goes, It looks like he has enough to. And they talk about what if he's gonna blow up a choir or a bus full of people. And Ruby's like, I can't deal with a bus full of choir students. Like, I can't do this. And then she goes, Well, and they weigh the pros and cons. And pretty much the next scene, they're delivering him his shit.

SPEAKER_00

Well, he says he's gotta take care of his mom.

SPEAKER_01

Right, and all the back and forth.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, and then they're like, Oh my god, he's gonna kill his mom. And he says something like, Yeah, I'm just glad that she lived long enough for me to do this or something, and they're just like so fucking slightly, just a little bit, and then he goes, I'm doing her yard.

SPEAKER_01

Yes, he's like a mute bitch. He's a garden or some shit. Like, yeah, bitches are sick. I mean, to be fair, he was a bomb expert.

SPEAKER_00

And when he was in the military, how the fuck is he gonna plant a garden? He's got no arms. One one should not jump to that conclusion. I don't know, but I believe that more than the garden.

SPEAKER_01

Still, maybe the neighborhood kids. I don't know. Maybe. But he was he was highly he was appalled at his voice. Yeah. He's like, you bitches are sick. And now we're doing the we go back to the what Good Girls does so well, their montage. Stan doing his pity auntie bullshit, Ruby googling other black people who live in Wyoming. That's a fair question. There might be one other. Right. Well, we kind of know the answer to the other one, I think. I don't think that was a problem then, though, was it? Yeah, not it, it was it, but was it as big as a problem as it is now? Montage of Beth just sitting and standing and the kids running amok. She's stressed the fuck out. She got too many kids. She was already stressed out. This is just not helping. Stan is just Stan tells Gene he wants his old job back. He can't keep doing this. And Jean's like, yeah, sure. Not a problem. Finally, Beth meets with Fitzpatrick, and he wants to know why you want to cancel. He goes, This is the problem with a requited love or ex-lovers or something. Lovers. And then he clicks. He goes, You cut a deal. I thought she was special. She goes, I'm a mom. He goes, You could have had Fiji. She goes, but I'm I mean, if I was a single woman with no kids, yeah, I probably would have taken Fiji. That's just me. At this point, now he's now a realtor. So someone comes in to look at the house, and he he asks her. She asks him, so what are you gonna do? He says, My job.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. But and the lady who came in to look at the house walks in on them kind of arguing in code in plain sight. And she just is like, I don't know which way to go. Um like I don't want to see the house anymore at this point. Yeah, and he's like, Let's start the tour upstairs, and she's like, Um, okay.

SPEAKER_01

She's like, Am I coming back downstairs? That's one thing. I could never be a real estate agent because I wouldn't want to show a house alone. Because, you know, I see, you know, it it uh right. We've watched enough law and order, right? And I wouldn't train the house alone. So I will have my posse with me. Next day at work, Stan's at work, some random dude is eating his lasagna, and the random dude just doesn't give a fuck. And here comes the police, like, hey, can we ask you something? And Gene's like, yeah, Stan, you know anything about this, Stan? So Gene pulsed his point. Like, you're gonna do what you're gonna do, you're gonna do what I tell you to do, or this is or you're going down for this bullshit. Stan's like, bat. Mm-hmm. Okay, great. You now see on the rooftop Fitzpatrick. Patrick is looking out of the site of the gun and tracking Rio. And Rio goes into like a door an alleyway, doorway around people. He loses him for a second, and then he comes back out and he follows him. And when he's about to take the shot, the guy turns around and takes a hood off, and it's not Rio. And he's like, the guy must have balls of steel. He probably didn't tell Rio probably didn't tell him what he was doing. Yeah. If Rio says, yo, walk out. He probably is. So as he's pulling back, Rio's there. He's like, ah. He was like, I didn't think she had it in her, says Fitzpatrick. He's like, yeah, woman like that. I didn't think he, I didn't think she had it in her. And as he putting, he acts, he kind of like gestures, like, you know, let me put my shit away. And there's a handgun taped to the top of the case. Yeah, like the top of the case.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, the the inside top.

SPEAKER_01

And as he's reaching for it, Rhea goes, he's like, all right. At least I tried, you know, I tried. Rhea goes, later, Dave, Fitzpatrick cocks his head and goes, Dave, bam. All you hear is the gunshot. And you're assuming that he got killed. We don't know. It's a good assumption that he did, but we don't know. This is good girls. But there's also Rio, where he's just like, I'm not taking any chances, though. Beth meets up with Rio again and she tells him, you know, oh, I'm backtracking. I skip a part. Before Rio sh before Rio surprises Fitzpatrick, Beth meets up with Rio. Completely forgot about that. And she gives him an envelope. And he goes, This is the she tells him, like, the feds are coming down on me. They want me to flip on you. And he goes, This is the guy. She goes, Yep, that's the big kahuna. He's like, all right. And as a thank you, he um, I like the fact that he taps the bar with his ring to get the guy's attention. Someone else does that in another movie or TV show. He taps the bar with his ring. Anyway, and as a thank you, he tells her to give her the whole bottle. I'm like, ooh, that's a good gift. Now I'm gonna go for it again. So when Beth tells him, hey, yeah, you know, the feds took everything. I can't wash your money, and they're talking shop, and he's about to leave. Rio mentions that, you know, the kahuna wasn't looking to put me away. He was looking to take me out. Beth is coming up with some bullshit, but Rio is real. He don't say shit, which means stop the bullshit. I know you're lying. He just walks away. And that personally would have me shooting Brits and having me like, okay, kids, we're picking up, we're moving. Fuck dad. We're going to hiding. Yeah. And that is the end of this episode. Did I? I know I went over a I missed a lot of things, but I got the sailant points.

SPEAKER_00

All right. I'm gonna explain why I'm confused. Okay. All right, actually, let me ask you a question first. So, what did Beth tell Rio?

SPEAKER_01

Beth told A the truth that the FBI is looking for her. There's as coming down once of the flip. I think the picture he sent was of Fitzpatrick. Right. She said that that was Dave. Okay. The big kahuna. She calls Dave the Big Kahuna.

SPEAKER_00

Right.

SPEAKER_01

So when she said that's the only way to get out of it. Oh, I see where. Okay. I see where you might like she could have told him something else. Oh, that was the answer to your question. Okay.

SPEAKER_00

That was, right? Okay. And that's what I expected also. Why would the FBI be trying to like snipe him out?

SPEAKER_01

And that is why he came to her and said, Oh, they want to try to take me out.

SPEAKER_00

But that's what I'm saying, right? Like, that's the part that he's smart enough that if that, if she told him, okay, the FBI is coming after me, this is the guy, that's fine, and that's great. For him to say, okay, cool, I'm gonna get the guy. But Rio obviously knew enough that he was a rifle.

SPEAKER_01

It wasn't like it was in a it was in a cello case, not like it wasn't even in a like the FBI would, if they wanted to kill him, they wouldn't have it in a cello case.

SPEAKER_00

Right, like that, that's like some CIA shit. That's not FBI. And the fact is that Rio already knew that this was the setup. That's why he had the double, that's why he did the fake out. And so he already went into this up knowing that this guy was set up to take, you know, like as a sharpshooter to take a shot at him. The FBI is not gonna do that. So that's where my confusion came into the city.

SPEAKER_01

I think it was they assumed he was watching him and they used the double to so they let's say it was the FBI. Let's say it was. You would still need someone to focus on your attention while we all stepped up behind you. Okay. So I'm thinking I'm thinking he went into that. It could be either way. You still need someone to double up so they can focus on the fake guy while I come up behind you. When he came up and found Fitzpatrick, it I think it clicked for him. Like you think it clicked then? I think it clicked then.

SPEAKER_00

Like, oh, I'm still gonna go through with it. So you think that he just assumed that he was being watched, right? Like in his head, he was being watched, and that's why he did the fake out, and that he didn't know that the guy was a sharpshooter until he got there. Until he got there.

SPEAKER_01

But here's my question. I had a question. Taking him out, taking Dave out, the FBI agent, wouldn't end the investigation.

SPEAKER_00

Of course not. But since he's the head of the investigation that might be it, but it'll backtrack it. It might, it might have right. Because sh they said only them two know. So maybe maybe the the plan was to take them both out.

SPEAKER_01

Oh whatever. Oh maybe.

SPEAKER_00

Which actually wouldn't work either because then he'd have to he'd still have to take Dave out. Like the actual Dave.

SPEAKER_01

Well, and and unless, of course, he thought it was Dave, though. Like in his even if even if he thought it was Dave, it still wouldn't stop anything. But that's just my idea. That's just my right.

SPEAKER_00

But but okay, so follow the logic, right? So Beth knows that only Dave and Agent Hot Mess know about the investigation.

SPEAKER_01

Right.

SPEAKER_00

But let's say she told Rio that Dave is the only one who knows about the investigation, and this is why he needs to go because he is the only one. Okay, that makes sense. Then that makes sense because he's not even going after the FBI agent. So it doesn't even matter. Like that's still all in place. And the fact is the deal goes away if Rio was dead, so they just need Rio alive. Well, right, I know.

SPEAKER_01

I'm just like, even if it was true, how did she get the story to make sense? That's what I was saying.

SPEAKER_00

Right. And so, like, the in order for that to make sense, yeah. I guess it has to be only Dave knows. Only Dave knows.

SPEAKER_01

Okay.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, and and and like I said, it was just that part that was like something like obviously he he caught on, but the part that for me was confusing was like, but when did he catch on? Because number one, he's not stupid. And number two, you didn't see, you really didn't see the exact aftermath, but then it was just like there were too many pieces falling into place before he approached him to make it like, oh, he's so caught off guard. I think he was caught off guard by the name because that's when he was like, Who's Dave? And that's when he was like, I think Rio went in not assuming anything.

SPEAKER_01

Let's say Rio in typical fashion was prepared for any eventuality, but ultimately, so whoever's there's gonna get was gonna get killed.

SPEAKER_00

Because even if you walk in there and you're still thinking, okay, this is the FBI, he's not just watching me, but he has a gun trained on me. Are you really still thinking that's the FBI?

SPEAKER_01

No, I I'm pretty sure he didn't know exactly what was what, but I think the second he got up there and saw a s a guy not that's dressed up with a sniper rifle. I think the second he walked in there and saw shit, he like, uh-huh. He yeah, he may not have been 100% believing that it was an FBI before he got there.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, well, then I think the fact that like even when he used the name, he was like, Who's Dave? It just it just felt like two too many, but really one too many. This doesn't add up for Rio to just be like, okay, cool. And obviously he still goes to Beth and is like, by the way, hmm. But I still think like in that moment it just seemed unreal like. What do you mean? That he almost didn't I would have assumed that Rio had done like a little bit more due diligence on his own part so that when he because obviously, right, he he he knew a lot of the pieces and that's how he was able to do the fake out. And I feel like the fact that he had the rifle wasn't even the surprise. I feel like the surprise came when the guy was like, whose date? And even though Rio probably already went in there, I like I have to feel like Rio already went in there somewhere between the time Beth sent him on that mission and the time he got there, he kinda he I feel like it's in Rio's purview to have known what the situation was that he was walking into. But then you know what I mean? And and then he was like, Alright, I'm gonna take care of this, and then I'm gonna confront her. Like, you know, business first, you know, we talk about it later. But then, but then when he said who like the fact that he wasn't Dave is the fact that is the part that threw him off.

SPEAKER_01

And it I don't know, like it just it threw Patrick, it it threw Fitzpatrick off, but did it throw Rio off? Do you think that Rio did it intentionally just to confirm what he already knew? Because there was no reason for him to say later unless he needed confirmation on what he already knew. Okay, all right, that is fair because there was no hesitation from the gunshot. Let's just say he's dead or not dead. But he said when the guy said who's Dave, there was no hesitation. He still got killed. All right. So I'm assuming Rio wasn't put off and confused by that answer.

SPEAKER_00

Okay, I think I can buy that. I watched the episode a bit ago, so I don't I don't remember exactly like that. Like I remember the confusion, but you're right now, could have just been on McCarthy's part.

SPEAKER_01

He's the only one that's not confused. Because if if Rio wasn't if Rio wasn't expecting some kind of cut to take, I don't think the gunshot would have happened so quickly afterwards. It would be like, uh Okay. Unless he shot him in the leg.

SPEAKER_00

Well, you know what? I'm just gonna wait till I'm probably gonna watch like the the the last little bit of it and before I watch the next episode just to recap a little. Okay. But I have also speaking of next week, in one of our previous episodes, I wanna say it was like when we did the season four premiere that we were talking about how the season three finale didn't involve anybody being shot.

SPEAKER_01

Right. And then by season by episode six of this season, what was it?

SPEAKER_00

You said episode five. I said five. Five some someone should have a gun that someone will hand Beth it down. I wrote it down, like I wrote it down in my notes when I had edited, and so that's it. Next episode, your prediction, which is weird because you've seen the show, so it's kind of like you know.

SPEAKER_01

I saw it when it first aired. It wasn't like I've seen it, but I said like episode five was supposed to be the season finale for season three, but they stopped early, right?

SPEAKER_00

All right, well, I don't know. I don't know either. I mean, I'm I might be the only one that doesn't know, but I don't know.

SPEAKER_01

No, I know when I mean I like I said I watched it with a I know it, I don't know.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, I know.

SPEAKER_01

And I at the time, mind you, I didn't notice that there was a gun at every like someone put a gun in her hand at the end of every season when I first watched it. So I really wasn't paid attention to that kind of shit. I just watched the show to enjoy it.

SPEAKER_00

You know what one of my bosses told me, and I think you're gonna get a kick out of this. They compared me to Charlie from It's Always Sunny with the red string.

unknown

Oh shit.

SPEAKER_00

And the funniest part is that he has absolutely no idea how fucking crazy on point that was.

SPEAKER_01

Oh lord.

SPEAKER_00

I was like, all right then. They made a comment about how I some of the stuff that I watch, like how I have to watch it in order. And he's like, Oh, that's like Charlie with the red string. And I'm just like, you don't even know how far that string goes, buddy.

SPEAKER_01

Kind of want to hang myself on that string sometimes.

SPEAKER_00

I bet you do. But the red string is not that strong, so it'll break and you'll fall, and it'll be fine. It's meant for conspiracy theories and crazy, crazy thoughts, not killing oneself. So stop that.

SPEAKER_01

I just want to kill myself. I just thought hang myself on it. That's killing yourself. No, not if I it could fall. If I don't fall just enough that I could just like pass out a little bit, you know.

SPEAKER_00

So just for a little auto-erotic fixation, just a little bit, right? Just a little bit. I'm glad my theories get you off. I don't know what else to say.

SPEAKER_01

No, baby, you do.

SPEAKER_00

You're welcome. You are welcome.

SPEAKER_01

You are the unicorn that gets me off.

SPEAKER_00

Hey now.

SPEAKER_01

Everyone listening, like, what the fuck am I listening to?

SPEAKER_00

Sorry, listeners. Oh, and remember what I told you about Dean, but like off air. No in the jail scene? You didn't look, did you?

SPEAKER_01

I did. And okay, shut up, Lisa. All right. Everyone listening once again. What the fuck are you doing listening to?

SPEAKER_00

Sorry. You could text us privacy privately and maybe we'll tell you. Maybe.

SPEAKER_01

Maybe. Off topic.

SPEAKER_00

Or if you just know me because you've been listening to all these episodes, you already knew.

SPEAKER_01

You already know.

SPEAKER_00

So anyway. Next episode. Will Agnes' prediction come true? Will Lisa be shocked? That'd be cool if it did. Will Agnes admit that Lisa is right? Who knows? I won't if you're not. Next time. You have anything else for this episode? Nope. Until next time, drink responsibly. Do not drink and drive. Visit us at sassinsips.com for all the ways. Text us because I said so. And I'm I'm also actively trying to recruit people for my cult, even though I don't have a piece of land yet. Although I did get an offer for someone, they were like, oh, you should go to Montana. There's a lot of land there. I was like, there's also a lot of cold. So no.

SPEAKER_01

And um I was like, There's a lot of snow, a lot of snow.

SPEAKER_00

And I was like, unless you're building me like a fortified fucking dome over my property and heating it for me, I don't I don't want the cold weather. So no, that won't work. Please find me another spot. So we're we're working on it, you know. Fiji. I've already got like three people willing to join, okay? Not including you. So just so you know.

SPEAKER_01

I need I feel the listeners need to understand a conversation that we had two days ago. Lisa was telling me about her recruitment. Oh. And then she has the audacity to say, I better get on the bandwagon now. Bitch!

SPEAKER_00

You better. I don't want to hear. I don't do hot weather. You're fucking coming. She said, get on the bandages. Now I got two. I got two.

SPEAKER_01

Bitch, I'm already part of this bandwagon. The fuck you mean? Get on it. I help you build the bandwagon. All right, all right. You have some audacity.

SPEAKER_00

You keep that fucking, you keep that energy going. I love it. Do what I say. We need that. I'm gonna I'm gonna be like putting you as the first officer. You're gonna have to go be um, ooh, ooh, I know. I could be the Jacob and you could be the Richard.

SPEAKER_01

It all comes back to Lost. I find it funny that Lost was our first show, our first season, and everything always comes back to Lost.

SPEAKER_00

But why shouldn't it? I love when things come full circle. And also Richard never ages, so like I feel like you should want that.

SPEAKER_01

And Richard had great eyes. Exactly. It's fucking amazing. I want Richard, I want Richard's lashes. Yeah. I can be Richard, that's fine.

SPEAKER_00

Exactly. So there you are. You see what I do for you? Ew.

SPEAKER_01

Lisa sometimes forgets that I'm black. And then sometimes I have to remind her. Like, what what does that have to what in what does that have to do with the sassiness? You forget that could be sassy than you see what I can do for you? Ew. Do you know what you're talking about? I think sometimes we forget. We should forget.

SPEAKER_00

Sass and sips. It's right in the fucking title, okay? I did not forget.

SPEAKER_01

People ask me, well, who's which one's Savage? Which who's Sass and who's sips? I said, we're both both. I'm like, oh. I'm like, duh.

unknown

The fuck?

SPEAKER_01

Duh. Have you met me? Well, yeah, that's what we had to ask. I'm like, so who was I want to hang out with? They're like, oh, okay. That makes sense. They're like, the fuck?

SPEAKER_00

Shit.

SPEAKER_01

So as I was saying, the episode, people like, people already turned off and skipped in the episode. You know that, right? Uh-huh.

SPEAKER_00

And until next time, I'm Lisa.

SPEAKER_01

And I'm at this.

SPEAKER_00

And we are out of here.

SPEAKER_01

See you later. Bye.

SPEAKER_00

When I went to that baby shower, I found Rio's Doppelganger. Doppelganger. And you have to like zoom in because I was trying not to be like um stalkery. Yeah, no. Yes, it is.

SPEAKER_01

No, it's not.

SPEAKER_00

Yes, it is. No. It's hard because I was sitting all the way across the fucking room.

SPEAKER_01

I can zoom in.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, but it was.

SPEAKER_01

No, it is not.

SPEAKER_00

Whatever. You just don't know what you're looking at.

SPEAKER_01

I know the fuck. Yeah. Lisa, no, it's not. Alright, whatever. Whatever you think. That's what I know.

SPEAKER_00

As soon as they introduced me, I was like, oh my god. Like. And then also I found Cassim's doppelganger there.

SPEAKER_01

Yes. Now that yes.

SPEAKER_00

Yes. Both yes.

SPEAKER_01

No.

SPEAKER_00

No.

SPEAKER_01

No. Okay.

SPEAKER_00

Anyway, I'm gonna cut out all your nose. Oh, I thought you were gonna give me the finger. Because you haven't done that yet this episode.

SPEAKER_01

No, I just don't care enough.

unknown

Okay.

SPEAKER_00

I think he's just mad because he looks like him, except he's not as cute as like actual Rio, and you're like he doesn't look like him. But he does. He absolutely fucking does.

SPEAKER_01

To be fair, in that picture, he absolutely does not.

SPEAKER_00

And that's fair. That's fair.

SPEAKER_01

What I'm looking at does not.
