Hi, and welcome to this episode of Assassin's Sips. Today we're talking about Good Girls Season 3, Episode 3, Egg Roll. I'm Lisa, and I am sipping on coffee with just a touch of some uh screwball peanut butter whiskey.
SPEAKER_00You haven't had that in a long time. I haven't.
SPEAKER_01I found the bottle and I was like, oh yeah, I haven't had this.
SPEAKER_00And I'm Agnes, and I'm also drinking coffee, but I put Coquito in it. Okay. So any hot takes on this episode? Egg roll. That's your hot take? Egg roll.
SPEAKER_01I'm just honestly. Well, of course. Um I'm just I feel like I'm just so enamored by Ruby and Stan's relationship. Like it's just I could rock with a guy like Stan. And the therapist, the the Josh, I remember his name.
SPEAKER_00I got his name right.
SPEAKER_01He he kind of I wrote down that he looks like Bad Bunny's very dull British brother.
SPEAKER_00I don't know how to react to that. Of like, okay, Lisa, too much whiskey in that coffee. But the other part of me is like, I can see it. But you can see it.
SPEAKER_01You can see it, right? Because I looked at his face and I was like, yeah, they were separated at birth, and like, you know, one was sent to live a very dull, dry British life.
SPEAKER_00Their genetic makeup with their dis with their ethnicity was changed and everything. So yeah, I could, but I could see it.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. Um, I don't think you have any um hot takes.
SPEAKER_00Okay, let's get this party started. So it's this episode starts. I'm just kidding. Why am I not surprised? Starts off with Beth and um sitting in the bar. If I'm not mistaken, it starts off where last week's ended. Yeah, like exactly where it ended. Good. Okay, so am I crazy? I mean, I am, but not for that reason. And Rio is being Rio. Beth is scared shitless. Looks like her ass is gonna close, her asshole's closing up. And he's just like, So how have you been? How are the kids? What's popping? You know, and he was like, I have something to show you. He pulls out one bullet, he goes, Lung, the next bullet, spleen, then last bullet, stomach. Now it's a big thing.
SPEAKER_01I only thought I yeah, I thought that he she had only shot him twice. So I guess I was wrong about that.
SPEAKER_00Don't remember details of that nature, but you do, okay. Um at this point, not only is her asshole closing up, all color from her face is drained. It's just she's counting her days. She gets up to leave, he's like, Don't do that. Don't do that. I was like, Oh, now I know he's like he wants to kill her. And all I can think of, damn, that's sexy. I don't know what's wrong with me. I have problems. And he goes, Come on, let's go. And she genius move. I don't know how she thought it was gonna work, but it does work. I guess because he figures what she does know of him. She says she's pregnant. And he has a mixture of shock and disappointment that he can't kill her at the same time. There's a scene later on in this episode where she doesn't do something, and I think I would have done it, and I wonder if you would have done the same thing I would have done, but we'll get to it.
SPEAKER_01I have one hot take, but I'm I'm gonna wait actually until probably the same scene I'm talking about.
SPEAKER_00Um okay, well, probably not because it's kind of a random thought. The next scene, Beth is on her back, and Dean is getting to work, and he finishes, and she goes again. So we could probably figure out what's happening in that scene.
SPEAKER_01And I have to say though, going from a close-up of Rio to a close-up of Dean was kind of unsettling. That was intense in the wrong way.
SPEAKER_00So the next morning, Dean is a little bit excited about this their old groove back, their circus. Their circus, they got their circus. Apparently, it's they're doing it more than they did when they were newlyweds. And of course, as he's leaving the room, he's like, I love you. And I find it convenient that you know he loves his wife when he's getting sex. But anyway, but that's just a random thought. Yeah. Annie's talking to her child psychiatrist, and I find that fitting. Um, she is a little childish. And she's giving him the in and outs of what an atomic wedgie is, and she likens it to like the wires that cut the cheese.
SPEAKER_01You felt that, didn't you?
SPEAKER_00Right. Because she's like, Oh, with women, it's much worse. He's like, Really? He's like, Well, yeah. And we're like, Yes. Like, we don't, I've never had an atomic wedgie, but I've had like particular panties that for whatever reason, the pants I'm wearing, you're wearing whatever, and it just kind of like goes in the crack. You're like, Fuck. You gotta pull it out, and that even hurts more than the actual panty wedgie. So she's telling Josh about pretty much Bob growing up with Beth. And she goes, All I want to do is eat nine bowls of cereal and OD on cartoons. And Beth would pretty much Beth wouldn't let her. Beth was always been bossy. She'll take the remote control. And he goes, Well, why do you let her take the take control? And I wonder if he's asking her this, because he knows the real answer, but that's just me.
SPEAKER_01What do you mean? Huh. Like, what do you mean if he's asking her, but he really knows the answer? Well, you know, when she comes back later on. Oh, so like you think that he's just trying to get her to realize the answer? Yes.
SPEAKER_00Yes. Okay, okay. Yeah, I guess I could see that. Because you know, that's what therapists do. Beth's taking a pregnancy test and she's going through all her, you know, what I guess all late teens, early 20 women do when they have a lot of sex and like, oh fuck, let's take 600 pregnancy texts. Um, I wouldn't know about that.
SPEAKER_01First of all, if you were that pregnant as in not that pregnant, you gotta have your first morning peak because the hormone is the most concentrated. And you drinking all that water, you're just gonna dilute your sample. So even if you were pregnant, you're you're even less likely to get a positive result. Just FYI.
SPEAKER_00And you heard it here first. Well, I hope you didn't hear it here first. That's so well, because most of our listeners are, I'm sure they're not teenagers, so they should be grown ass women and men, and they should know. But anyway, Dean is feeling himself, he is running, he is taking care of himself, he is jogging and doing sit-ups at the park, and kids are looking at him weird, jumping over benches, right? He is feeling it. To be fair, after I have some really good sex, I'm feeling the same way though. So the day after, because afterwards I'm knocked out, but the day after I'm feeling good, if I remember correctly. Beth is still home taking pregnancy attacks at the pregnancy test, and I'm assuming this is like a couple, this is sometime after her encounter with Rio. It's not like the next day. They don't make it clear, but it's kind of common sense. I don't think she's taking a pregnancy test the next day. Yeah, it I mean, I feel like And I think they said something about a couple weeks or a couple of months. I think they did something like in passing, but I don't remember. Ruby and Annie are looking at this viral video about this dude that gets arrested for going crazy. I think it's a with a taco bell. Yeah. And Ruby goes, So what does he want? Mild or not? And Annie's like, it was never really clear about what he actually wanted. And that's when Beth comes in for one of her mini pee breaks, and they're like, What's going on? And she shows him the video, and it's their money cleaner. Yeah, the Gordita King now. Gordito King, yeah, that's his name, Gordito King. And so to that, she responds, I have to go pee. And they're like, What the what the fuck? So they go visit him in jail, and he's like, What the fuck? You're not my lawyer. He goes, we couldn't exactly tell them you were you were your friends, like the fuck. And he goes, She's like, Where's my money? And he was like, That hurts. Yeah, right. She's like, Where's my money? He goes, I'll tell you when I get out. He goes, Where's my money? He goes, Well, I cannot tell you, and they can just find it when they go through my van. She was like, fine. He's like, Where's your van? He's like, wherever they take vans when you get busted. So, and they all look at Ruby. Ruby's like, No, no, no, we're not doing this. Oh, wait, did I miss the egg roll when they first found out about the egg roll? I feel like I missed that part. Oh, yeah. I did, I did. So backtrack a little bit. Ruby and Stan are Rubying and Stanning, and she goes to say something about her day, and he goes, Egg roll. She was like, What? He goes, Egg roll. She's like, I was just going to say egg roll, egg roll, egg roll, to repeat Lisa, egg roll. So pretty much that's his safe word. I don't want to hear it. That's their safe word, yeah. She he said, You don't want to hear about my day at work. I definitely don't want to hear about yours. So, egg roll. She was, but it, and I think at this point there was no drama going on. He's like, I he really did want to parts of it. So, of course, when they're all at the jailhouse and they're looking at her, I could see her visualizing a nice big juicy egg roll at this point because she's not with it. She makes, I don't know what kind of drink it was, but it looked refreshing. So she made Stan a nice refreshing drink, an alcoholic. And he goes, What's the occasion? Yeah, it looked like like a some kind of martini something, but it had a little color to it. It wasn't exactly clear either.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, and then it had like a little lemon rind on the side. Oh, right.
SPEAKER_00She was getting fancy. Yeah, she was fancy. Oh, he goes, So what's the occasion? She goes, You boobed.
SPEAKER_01Well, this is this is when it was so funny because she's like, Oh, so I saw so-and-so at the salon and she missed you. And and he's like, Really? Really? And she's like, Yeah, and and then she lets on that they need the van from impound.
SPEAKER_00Because he says something, he's like, That dude never even talked to me. All right, this is really what's up.
SPEAKER_01She's like, So he's like, So um she so and so didn't miss me. She's like, egg roll. And he's like, and I bet she didn't even come into the salon. She's like, egg roll, but her face is priceless because she's just like, I don't know what you're talking about, but like it's a I don't know what you're talking about, face, but she's like, egg roll? Like, and he's just like, whatever, he already got it, and that's what I'm like, I just I loved it that I meant so much.
SPEAKER_00Life goals, relationship goals. I have the relationship with my cat. Oh, good, good, yeah. You have that with Stella and your husband, or something, yeah. Cause I figured, listen, if shit hits the fan, he would totally have your back.
SPEAKER_01I told I told him I I said something really nice about him to somebody, and I was like, Oh yeah, he's he's this and he's that, and um and I told him, I was like, oh no, I told so and so this, and he was like, Why'd you lie? And I was like, to shut them up. Oh shit. So, yes, that is a dynamic we have. I was like, I just I just didn't want to hear that person talk anymore. So I said nice, I started saying really nice things about you, and he was like, Why'd you lie?
SPEAKER_00But why was saying something nice about your husband shut them up? I can tell you that, but not in public. The fact that he was he honestly was like, Why lie? Like that's not who I am. What are you fucking talking about?
SPEAKER_01I mean, he listen, I know he is good to us.
SPEAKER_00I know the show.
SPEAKER_01I mean, you know, I mean, and both of us are far from perfect, but but you're a fucking unicorn, and he gets to remind you every night. That's that is the damn fucking truth. Yes, it is.
SPEAKER_00Oh, anyway, Dean is um doing Dean and he's dying his hair. Okay, so take away Dean and specific specific situation. Whenever a relationship has their downs and they're on this hot, and then part of it going up is like, yes, the couple starts reconnecting with with one another and they start committing to one another and they start doing things for themselves to look good for the other, if that makes sense. Like, I'm doing this for me, but also look good for my partner.
SPEAKER_01But I don't know if I was married to Dean and all of a sudden he came and wanted to dye his hair, I would be suspicious.
SPEAKER_00Okay, so you could actually go back and listen to the record that when you edit that I this time I did say it out loud and not just in my head, taking away the Dean specific aspects, like but couples in relationships in general.
SPEAKER_01It's not a bad, you know, it's a but relationships in general. I don't know. I I I think I would be suspicious because it was always everything was always fine. And now and we we know we know because we wash that the catalyst wasn't Beth, it was the bitch that he works for.
SPEAKER_00Well, he also dyed his hair before the bitch he works for.
SPEAKER_01Like he was doing he was not, nope. Oh, he died afterwards. He he didn't give her an answer until afterwards, until afterwards, right? And so you're right, he was jogging, you know, and all that before that. But I feel like that part of it, maybe it wasn't for her, maybe it was for the job, but still, it wasn't for Beth.
SPEAKER_00That's true, but at the same time, he's a devil's advocate. When he was um doing the Dean, then when he had Bolin Motors, he never did that for all his other women. True. So maybe it wasn't for his boss per se. It was just like, oh, she's into me. My wife is like, maybe it was just like a catalyst, but like push him closer to his wife, you know, do something more for you know, no, there definitely could be other parts of that.
SPEAKER_01I just you know to me, I would just be a little bit more suspicious, like why now?
SPEAKER_00That's all. Well, I think part but based on the change in their relationship, although because she needs to get pregnant, he doesn't know that. I think it was just the push she he just I think it's just the push he needed, like okay, my relationship, maybe we are doing better. This let me like I said before, like a lot of relationships, when you start to have an upward swing, sometimes you do things to make yourself feel better for your other for your for yourself.
SPEAKER_01No, no, I get that, I get that, but it's you know, it's the same way, like she's adding uh like introducing a new element to the relationship, and it's not above board either. No, so you know it's just it's just the same kind of thing, like when somebody introduces a new element, especially after so many years. I'm sorry, but like I I would be suspicious, I would just wonder why now what what changed and why now? It could be all above board, it could all be great and wonderful and purely, you know, just whatever, like because you love the other person. I I guess I'm just a little bit more like I watch too much TV and I'm suspicious. I don't know. It's all that true crime, like what are they up to?
SPEAKER_00Anyway, as he's uh he's doing his little hair dye, he's throwing away the evidence, and he finds best evidence. Beth drives up, she comes home from seeing the cleaner. I'm assuming that's what she was, and he confronts her about finding the pregnancy test, and he's like, You just want me for a sperm donor. She's like, but I want another kid. He goes, she goes, it just means that is this a no that what you say goes? He goes, it's a conversation, which he's right. This whole scene, I was team Dean. If you don't know why she's trying to get pregnant, you know.
SPEAKER_01I'm torn, and here's why. Because yes, that should have been a conversation, but Dean knows what happens when sperm meets egg, right? So if you're sending all your little spermies into her body that can potentially meet her egg, you do know that pregnancy can be a result. So whether you're trying or you're not trying, your physiological response to the body doesn't really care whether you're trying or you're not trying. You know what I mean?
SPEAKER_00Well, let's I consider he's so shocked. I'm just saying she might be on birth control, she might have been on birth control before.
SPEAKER_01Okay, all right. So that's that is that is fair.
SPEAKER_00Um, but he made a good point where as a society, and as we should, we get kind of up in arms when a husband or a boyfriend or a male significant other wants only his wife to be barefooted pregnant at home. And as we should be up in arms about that, when it's one-sided expectation. So I think on the flip side, when let's say the wife wants to have not about Beth per se, when the wife just wants to have all these children and doesn't care about what the husband's needs and wants in the household bills, that's also a big problem. And I don't think we talk about that often enough. I guess with society. We don't, you know, so this is why I'm I'm kind of team Dean because it is a conversation and they can't afford the they're barely making.
SPEAKER_01But that's what she said. That's what he said. He's like, We can barely we have a billion kids and we can barely afford the ones we have.
SPEAKER_00Not barely, they can't, like, you know, you're borrowing money from as far as he knows, you know, whatever. Right.
SPEAKER_01But okay, also who the fuck reaches into the bathroom trash full of dirty tissues and just grabs a handful to pull it out. That's disgusting. What the fuck?
SPEAKER_00What bothers me is like, how do you have a trash can and not have a liner in it?
SPEAKER_01Thank you. People do that all the time, and I'm like, that's nasty. I don't understand. Like, that's disgusting. Okay, sorry if I offend you, but that's gross.
SPEAKER_00I'm not sorry.
SPEAKER_01That's bacteria, that's germs, that's contamination, and it's I mean, unless un okay, unless maybe you clean your can and scrub it down with Lysol or something in between. I don't know, but nasty. But unless you know that every single one of those tissues was yours because no one else ever possibly can use that bathroom. I would sick. I mean, put a glove on, anything, but like ew. Ew, how do you know there's not shit on those napkins? Or like who knows, right? Like blood, it's not shit. I don't know, whatever. Who knows? I mean, they don't have animals, but like still, you know, like They had a dog at one point. I don't know what happened to it.
SPEAKER_00Right? Somehow crazy, right? There was a dog.
SPEAKER_01No, they did have a dog. And then the dog, the dog went the way of television children.
SPEAKER_00You know, just only around when you're not even night, he never came back. Like family matters. He went upstairs, never came back down.
SPEAKER_01Exactly.
SPEAKER_00Sorry.
SPEAKER_01Okay. Rant over.
SPEAKER_00So Beth is now at the park and there's a soccer game and she sees Ray. And she builds up, she puts on her big girl panties, and she's like, I know I suck. Pretty much. I fucked up. I know you hate me. I'm sorry. I had good intentions. Blah, blah, blah, blah. And she pretty much asks Ray for help. She's like, I need help. I'm in trouble. Like, and Ray just kind of looks at her, like, whatever. Bite me, bitch. Because she's really not, she's paying her no mind. She's talking to the kids and looking everywhere but at Beth. And what is the next? Well, stairs at work and the stripper's on the what is her name? Because I really like her. I really should have. I was hoping you're not gonna be a little bit more.
SPEAKER_01Her name is Diane.
SPEAKER_00I don't know what her stripper name is. But Diane, okay. And she's on the phone. She sounds real Brooklyn-ish. Right. Okay, it's just not me, right? Okay. And she's like, all right, Ma, I gotta go. I need it for surgery. And she's talking about um two totally different surgeries, and it's hysterical. And Stan goes, it must be really hard to keep up with those lies. She goes, Well, it's the only way my mom is gonna take money from me, and I need to help her, so I gotta lie to her. And then, of course, most of it goes to her gambling problems, but she's still doing it, like she's still gonna help her mom. And that is when Stan takes the ban information out of his pocket and calls the buddy that's not a buddy, and he goes, Yeah, it's been a long time, I need a favor. Because you do what you have to do for family, you know.
SPEAKER_01Right, right. You know, and and he I guess he just realizes or or ended up realizing the right word. But you know, just kind of accessing it. Sometimes lying is um polite. Like sometimes lying is a healthy better than yeah. Than not lying because it just gets you where you need to be without hurting another person. Or or or allows you to take care of what you need to take care of. I don't know. I mean, whatever.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. So the girls, they bail out their money launderer. And I, you know, he's kind of I would say like I wouldn't say likable, but I'm kind of enjoying watching his where he's on in the scene because he's comic relief. And he goes, so when's the next? He's like, you know, when's you know, when do you need me next? And Annie goes, we'll let you know. As soon as we make the next batch, we'll let you know. Beth is like, no, we're gonna take a break. And he's like, no, we're not. She's taking her power, she's taking back the remote control so she can watch her Saturday movie cartoons and eat nine bowls of cereal.
SPEAKER_01And oops, all berries. I don't even like Captain Crunch. That sounds terrible.
SPEAKER_00I like like I could go for maybe one bowl of Captain Crunch and maybe in a 20-year period, but then it hurts the roof of your mouth. But anyway, actually, I can taste the sugar in my mouth just thinking about it. But okay. Annie is Annieing, and she's like, no, like, what are we gonna do? We have bills to pay, we have things to do, and she's like, What is your problem? You always want to be the boss, blah, blah, blah, blah. And Beth is like, because I had to, and he's alive. He's back, oh, he's alive, and they're like, Oh fuck. So, of course, you they do what anyone could should do with this situation. They all go back to Beth's house and they're drinking. And one, I didn't know there was a difference between a shank and a skiv, but I know now. Annie is really full of use of useful information. And she's like, wait, the first thing she says was she's like, You got bullets, you got three bullets right up front of your face. How do you miss?
SPEAKER_01She said, Yeah, she said, even if you gave a sharpshooter three bullets and said, Don't miss any or or and miss vital organs, organs, even they couldn't do that with three bullets. Like, even they couldn't miss.
SPEAKER_00I mean, to be fair, if they were told to, but if Jimmy didn't save him and call, you know, his, you know, and get him help, he would have died. Right.
SPEAKER_01Well, that that was part of it also, is is her her kind of terrible aim, but also the fact that he got medical treatment so quickly.
SPEAKER_00But lung spleen, like but the lung, I mean, he would have died, he would have bled out if he didn't get the medical treatment. So, not you know, right, right. It was a combination. And for a person who's never shot a gun, that wasn't bad. I'm just saying, because how many people shoot a gun and they think they can hit? Like, this is not Call of Duty, you're going to miss. I'm telling you right now, because Call of Duty doesn't have recoil, you know what I mean? So, anywho, I don't think she did a bad job. I'm I'm proud of you.
SPEAKER_01Actually, it does have a little, but anyway.
SPEAKER_00Do you plan play? Okay, you're okay. Call of Duty, and you remember the gun range.
SPEAKER_01Yes, I know. But I hit my target on the gun range. Actually, I hit my target better on the gun range than I do in call. I'm just saying. Taking human life is a little bit different than Call of Duty and Aim.
SPEAKER_00I'm just saying. That's funny. Whatever. So after this little, you know, woe is me, how are we gonna fix this problem? Annie crashes into her child therapist, and there was he had an appointment, the little girl pops up behind the doll haus, and he goes, Can I go to the bathroom? She's like, Yeah, that'd be a good idea. And she goes, and she pretty much comes to the realization that Beth was protecting her.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, because she's like, She's like, My god, I would have, I would have watched cartoons until my eyes melted. I would have, who needs to eat nine bowls of cereal? So yeah, she she has a come to Jesus moment.
SPEAKER_00Beth pulls up from doing grocery shopping, she has a bag of groceries in her hand, and Rhea goes, I love what he says this. So, how you doing, mama? And I was like, And I was I had a little twinge um when I hear his voice, and she was like, uh, you know, nauseous. He goes, Let's take a drive. And I was just like, Oh come, I'm here, I'll take a drive with you. She's like, you know, I gotta put the groceries away. There's ice cream, and this way he goes, get in the car, Elizabeth. I was like, oh, he doesn't say Elizabeth, he goes, get in the car, Elizabeth, without the E. And and this is the scene that that's viral, and everyone's and ever you have you meet a man with like a sexy voice, you have to ask him, can you just say this line for me?
SPEAKER_01And it's like this is my hot take. This was a motherfucking letdown. I'm sorry. Okay, this was such a letdown. I'm like, he said it, and I'm like, that can't be it. It's I was like, I was like, and I watched it a second time, and I'm like, no, still sorry.
SPEAKER_00I'm sorry. It was just the command, it was just Rio. And anyway, at this point, I would have this is what's kind of I wanted to tell him a role at that moment. Oh this is what I was mentioning earlier, what I would have done. So this is when she obviously thinks she's gonna be killed, right? And she carries the groceries with her. I personally would have dropped the groceries right there on the lawn because that would have been a sign to like, okay, something's wrong. It would have, I mean, I don't know if Dean would have been. I would have been like, okay, let me drop the groceries, spread them all out on the lawn so people are like, what the fuck happened here? Something's wrong. And I think it would have saved her if she was going to be killed. No, but it kind of would have got people thinking about it sooner, as opposed to her just not being home, you know. Right. I wonder what Lisa, I wonder if Lisa would have done the same. I wonder if that like that thought crossed Lisa's mind, but that crossed my mind at that point.
SPEAKER_01And this is the scene. Yeah, I mean, I don't, I don't like, I definitely would have just left them there. Because, first of all, what he he already told her, come, you know, like get in the car. So at that point, you set them down or you bring them with you. You don't have time to put them inside and put everything away.
SPEAKER_00No, but she's so she brings them inside, but why are you gonna bring them with you though? Like unless you're gonna eat ice cream in the car, like your final meal. When I saw this, my I had a flashback. When I first saw this when it aired, I thought about the scene with in Sopranos when they take Adriana for a drive. Did you watch The Sopranos?
SPEAKER_01I I've seen episodes. I I don't remember. I mean, I've I saw when it aired, you know.
SPEAKER_00Oh, so those who are listening, if you know, you know. So Dean is now at work, and he tells his boss, can't do dinner. Because first he's in the spa jacuzzi, jacuzzi spa. And she goes, What are you doing? He goes, you know, it works better when it's when it's water in it. He goes, just doing like research, and he has this these wonderful ideas, and she's loving it. And he goes, But you know, I can't do dinner. Well, that was the first time. I'm sorry, yeah. Go back. That's okay. That was the first scene, you're right, that I didn't mention, I had to go back to. And this is when he tells her, I can't do the dinner. She's like, Okay, that's fine, it's not a problem. I get it. And that big deal, um, give it to Biddy Bob. I don't remember the name. He goes, Yeah. Um, but no, I did all the heavy lifting already, and you know, if he finalizes, he'll get the you know, the commission. She's like, Yeah, but I'm gonna need you to go to like grilling accessories, right? So we all know what's happening. A little uh retaliation, sexual harassment, retaliation, all that fun stuff, and it's kind of like, oh, you beep what you sow kind of situation.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I mean it still sucks, but yeah.
SPEAKER_00The next thing you see Rio and Beth sitting in a rating room is the doctor's waiting room. I love the fact that Rio's so just real cool. The lady in the pregnant lady's asking all these questions, and she's Beth is just like I don't know. She goes, How far are you? He goes, he's like, Oh, I guess we're here to find that out, aren't we? So they're in the office with the doctor, and she's asking all the doctor questions, and she goes, What was your last period? All that fun stuff. She was like, you know, do you remember, you know, maybe you got it pregnant, whatever. I can't remember the exact wording. And Rio goes, You remember Beth, when we were when we had sex in your bedroom when your husband was at work? And I was just like, I thought she was gonna die right there. I think I said, Oh, this is how he's gonna kill her, okay. So the doctor goes, Well, it's too soon to tell, you know, can't do an ultrasound, won't be able to see anything. Someone just take a blood test. And he goes, How long is it gonna take? What did she say? One or two weeks?
SPEAKER_01No, one or two days. Days two days. And oh if because remember, we were like, oh, it has to be a couple of months since she shot him, right? To recoup and all that. If it's still too soon, right, quote, to see any of that and blah blah blah blah, then it has to be less time than that. It has to be less than two months. I mean, we're probably at like this between the six and eight week mark.
SPEAKER_00Well, the next well, you're right, but she kind of he act, he's looking at the ultrasound. He's like, Well, let's just fire it up and see what we can see. And then she and the doctor goes, Well, I see a sack, and Bess is like, What the fuck? And he goes, Well, I don't see anything. And this is when the doctor uses to your logic, she uses like, well, when you go to med school, then maybe you can see it. Like, I like anyone can obviously tell one plus like do the math, but she because if you're logical, you're like Lisa has a very good point, but she shuts him down. She's like, Well, go to med school. So he's like, All right, fine, maternity, you know, I need a paternity test.
SPEAKER_01Well, the thing is that regardless of whether you could see anything or not see anything because of whatever, if the dates, first of all, Rio's not stupid, so he would have to like if she says it's too soon or whatever, like the dates would still have to line up for him to buy the scenario, right?
SPEAKER_00But she's buying time, though. As you know, no, I know that, right? I know I mean I'm aware of that. Right, but none of this stuff has to be exactly truth. It's just enough to get her out the doctor's office. She's bullshitting. We know we all know this, right? Looking for logic in it kind of just kind of defeats a purpose. It's it's not logical.
SPEAKER_01It's it's not logical, but the point is that it still has to be within the realm of possibility in order for it to be sold as logical. So we know she's not pregnant, we know the doctor bought her time. The problem is that if she had sex with Rio four months ago, there's no way in hell that Rio is gonna buy a story where it's too early to see it on the ultrasound. I know that, but she just tried to get her out the doctor. And I bet Rio knows that also. Hey, obviously, he knows that, but is it a moment like to give you five minutes? Is that when we were trying to figure out how much time had passed, this is more or less our gauge. That's all.
SPEAKER_00No, but say, but none of it's logical. That's the whole point. It doesn't you can't logic illogical stuff, it's not meant to be logical, it's not supposed to align up. You know what I mean? It so yeah. So when she asks, like, why did she say thank you to the doctor? Because obviously she's not pregnant, she was like, Don't think.
SPEAKER_01Well, Rio Rio's like, okay, paternity test, and walks out. She walks out. So that's when she had she was alone with the doctor.
SPEAKER_00Ruby comes home and she's exhausted from hearing about she's immensely emotionally exhausted about the whole Rio Alive thing and the fake pregnancy thing and all that other shit. He's like, You had a big day, huh? She was like, Yeah. He goes, What happened? She's like, Egg roll. He's like, Yeah, no more egg rolls. I don't need a safe word, it's fine. As he's shoving like cheese balls in her mouth and empty, and he's just in a really holly jolly mood, and he's telling a story about her son, their son, and he's a very creative troublemaker. Like I see your epidermis, and it's just it's funny. And they're joking about how he needs a swear jar. And he goes, funny you mentioned that. She goes, How much money do you have on you? He's like, 40 bucks. And I was like, first of all, I'm like, they're barely making ends meet. I get it. But I'm like, damn, they got she has 40,000 in her pocket? That must be nice. Cause I don't know. That's a lot, right? Right. I don't think I've ever, I'm like, I've had 40 cents in my pocket. But um, he goes, put in the jar. She's like, what? He goes like, instead of egg roll, put the money in the jar.
SPEAKER_01And I was like, oh shit. I had 30, 30 something dollars in my pocket because I went into the city the other night for a work thing. And I was like, I should have cash on me. Like, how did that happen? If not for that, I wouldn't have had it in my pocket.
SPEAKER_00Annie has a very putting life. Annie is good with building memories with Ben. Like Annie is good, like she is all about creating memories. And Ben is studying, doing homework, and she's like, No, we're not doing that. We're eating nine bowls of cereal and watching cartoons. And she's giving him the lesson on how to have nine bowls of cereal, where you just keep adding cereal, like as you finish cereal, add more cereal to the milk. And it's uh I like her memory scenes, like her creating memories because it's a little heartwarming, even though she's a little childish and sophomoric, but I know these memories Ben's gonna remember when he's a hundred years old. Like you appreciate your parents for parenting you. Like I think he really needs to be a parent, but that's what Greg goes and Nancy for. But as you become an adult, you do realize, even subconsciously sometimes, like the life lessons your parents gave you. But it's those memories that you remember when you don't have your parents anymore. Beth sees Ray at the park again, and she's doing Ray is doing her best to get the fuck out of there and hightail it out. And Beth is just like, I just want to know why. She's like, Because you're a mom, but he's not stupid either, and as we all know that. So when Beth comes home from the sock, the soccer game, Dean is at the window looking out like a lost puppy dog. Beth has two pizzas in her hand. She's like, So what's up? And he goes, He was told by his boss to keep an eye out on you. And Beth looks out the window and she sees one of Rio's men. And he goes, Who's his boss? And it's a question that's not really the question, it's more like right. So, yes, so now she, you know, he has someone watching his baby mama and making sure nothing happens to her. And I use that prestigiously, just in case everyone listening is curious. So that is the end of Bad Girl Season Three, Episode Three, Egg Roll.
SPEAKER_01Before you ask, no, I don't have anything.
SPEAKER_00I didn't think you did, so I wasn't gonna ask. Oh, okay.
SPEAKER_01That was it. See you next week, guys. Bye. Yeah, for leading up into this show, and then for two seasons, get in the car, Elizabeth. I didn't even say it like that.
SPEAKER_00Get in the car, Elizabeth. Get in the car, Elizabeth. Or get in the car, Lisa. If I pull up and say, get in the car, Lisa, I think you would jump in through my sunroof. I would know because because it's you driving. Because you would know. Like, this is some shit. If I just pull up out of nowhere, you're like, I'm in. Whatever it is, it's gonna be more fun.
SPEAKER_01If you pull up out of nowhere, you don't even have to say anything, and I'm getting in because I'm like, what the fuck? You don't live anywhere near here.
SPEAKER_00And you're jumping out the window and just landing into the right into the sunroof.
SPEAKER_01Not not because of the line. I mean the car, Lisa.
SPEAKER_00But I would say the line just because.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, the line was a letdown. I'm sorry.
SPEAKER_00I'm sorry. I'm sorry, you were let down.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I don't know. That's it.
SPEAKER_00Side note in the show notes, you have to definitely put that there was a letdown for you. I want to see, maybe we get some people like, but I love that line and get some momentum, you know. It was a thing. It was a thing.
SPEAKER_01I believe you. Maybe had I seen it when everyone else saw it, and then no expectation, it just kind of came maybe. Okay, well, I don't have anything else for this episode. Visit us at sassinsips.com for all the ways to get in touch with us, to connect with us, to support us, and all the stuff. Don't drink and drive, drink responsibly. And until next time, I'm Lisa.

SPEAKER_01And we are out of here.
SPEAKER_00See you later. Bye. I don't know if I'm gonna eat an egg roll or vomit right now.
SPEAKER_01Oh, ew. Yeah, egg roll for sure.
