Woohoo! Well, my water may or may not have actually a little bit of lemonade because I still just have some of the color like yeah, yeah, yeah. Well, I I froze, it was like it was a glass of it was um a glass of water with just like an inch of lemonade and like 20 ounces of ice and water, you know, but it's just a touch because I just cannot get on board with this Jersey water yet. And usually I throw a lemon in it, but because I was at work, I just put a little bit of lemonade.

When I saw the name of the episode last week, I just this is what I wasn't expecting this. This I was like, oh, okay. I mean it makes sense. No, it makes sense, but you know, I I was hoping for more of uh Nana and uh and her typical you know do you have any hot takes? Not really, nothing nothing really like stood out to me. So the episode starts three months in the past, and Boomer just shoving shit down his throat, and then the camera pans out, and then we see the table full of food, and he is having his last meal, his last 600 meals. What oh, and I can't remember the poor kid's name. What's the kid's name? Tyler. I was thinking of tea, I just couldn't get it right. And they're talking about, hey, you know, he's like, people, it was it, people think it's a good thing. He's like, well, who? He's taking names down. He goes, he's like, well, who else? He's like Maria. He's like, but why Maria? It was just kind of comical because he's getting prepared to go to turn himself in. And he says, Um, does your sister still have that place? And he goes, I don't look like I'm ready for jail.

Like I so he gets that he looks like too good and he doesn't want to be a target.

But he has under like people like him don't understand. It's who you are that makes you a target, you know, in general in life. It's your personality that makes you a target. So he gets some face tattoos, and his sister is talking to Ty. He goes, she goes, What do you think? He goes, I need a scorpion on that pentagram. I was just like, What?

She's like, but that was my slice that I bit off of. Right. It is Stan and Ruby's anniversary. What's the Doors Name again? Sarah? Why can't God why can't I remember some people's names? And there were times where I remember characters' names for one episode we saw a hundred years ago. But the current episode, I can't remember Sarah's name.

And I was like, Oh, I see what the writers did there. So they're talking about their dream, like what they're gonna do for the anniversary. They're like, they're gonna rent it Bentley and get a presidential suite, but they decided on the next best thing is you know, go happy on a water heater. I feel that listen, adulting is a whole new level. When you're like so hard.

The next scene we see Annie and Beth talking about. Annie says, Oh, we could turn it lengthwise. Beth goes, it's a square. And then you pull back and you see like a card table, and then Annie does her magic. She's like, now it's a diamond.

I still have I still have my card tables downstairs. It started off to be like where I fold laundry downstairs. But my family likes to use my basement as a storage unit, so it has other shit on it. Yeah. But we actually, when we first bought it, we used it as a card table. I don't know how I think that table's the table's definitely older than Chris. Oh no, we definitely played cards on it too, but um, yeah, I think I'm gonna clean off my basement and have like cake backs and card games again. But that's what I'm gonna do.

Well, I love that as they're like sitting in her house, you see Ruby driving around the empty house. She's like subrooting her floors. She goes, that's the only thing she has left. Uh-huh. She's over here going fast and furious and shit on her scooter. And she just like popping in and have a comment and then driving out. And I love it because she's just like in the background, just you know, you're just scooting by.

So this particular meeting is the master of the mind, is a meeting of the minds, and they're going to discuss the next course of action. The first the first thing they're gonna have to do is get back Rio's trust. Yeah. And Annie had a good point. She's like, we're gonna get back his trust. The one that we try to kill. Okay, yeah. Uh and so then we're gonna earn our fair share of money, no scamming, and we're gonna then point three is use those profits to hire the hitmen and take Rio out.

And she goes, Well, she said that was the best she could come with. She could come up with 4 a.m. on her air mattress. Right, on an air mattress. So she gets dolled up to meet up.

Yes, I think so. So she gets dolled up, she meets Rio, and she goes, Can we just go back? And how many times have like dudes say, we just go back to where it was before? Translation. Can we go back to when you accepted me treating you like shit? But in this buttons in this situation too, right?

Yeah, I never want to see a reset, taking it day by day, and she says she'll do anything to earn that back. She's like, I'll do anything. And he just looks at her with the real eyes. She goes, Well, within reason. He asked, Do you sell your minivan? He goes, I got something for you. She goes, My Ottoman? No. We see um Ben and Annie. Ben is growing up, like as a the actor, has grown up so much. The last it's funny how when I say kids, but when you hit that puberty eight, like you see when you just you hit puberty, everything just comes out of nowhere. The for guys, it's the height, the voice. It's like it feels like it's overnight.

Because I feel like it was just last week when Ben was still like, you can see the kid in his face. And then all of a sudden, Ben is like, oh my god, you're a teenager now. I feel like I watched him grow up before my baby's eyes. But I think I'm gonna cry once I realize the grandbabies are not babies. Like there's gonna be a day where I'm like, holy shit, they're men. I'm gonna cry. Because I cried when my daughter when she became like, yeah. So Annie's looking for a key, she's like, This pizza had pretty much she gives her a recap.

And Ben is like study group and all that. And Ben makes a really good observation. He he said, you know what happened to your last your last study buddy, you know. And here we get confirmation. And here we are, mate. They did get married. They did get married. I thought about you too. I'm like, oh, they did get married. And he goes, See, we see how that turned out. And then I'm just like, damn, Ben. Um, he no holds a bar when Ben talks to his mom. Like, he is definitely the adult in this relationship. He's the parent. The ladies are sitting in the middle of the field, trying the sitting on like a pipe. Barrel. A barrel. I think that's like the yeah, like a yeah, I think it it's it's probably a pipe. Uh yeah, those big like big water pipes, right? Yeah. And they're going back and forth. They're like, it's a guns, is it grenades? It's like, what could it possibly be? And they're just sitting there. And in the background, not too far behind them, you see, someone just come out like out of one of the like a storm drain or something. Yeah, storm drain. He just in an orange suit, just and then just rolls out all muddy, and they're still unaware of what's going on behind them, which is hysterical. Yeah. And all of a sudden you hear banana and a banana? And then she's like, the look on her face is like they all just stop. And it's like, am I having a stroke? Like, I I felt like that was the look on their faces. Like, this can't be real, right? He's like, All right, let's go. And I'm just like, I'm sorry. That scene that was the the scene itself was kind of indicative. Yes, it was indicative of them being just oblivious to what the fuck is going on.

So basically they have to this is the job that boo um Rio wants them to do is to pick up Boomer, you know, he's the package, and deliver him to Canada.

And when I put Canada in quotation marks marks because Boomer thinks he's going to Canada. I think it was genius how when they so they're going, they're driving, and there's apparently there's a Lisa. What the fuck is wrong with me? There is a um the stop police inspection. What the hell? Oh my god. A checkpoint. Thank you. It's a checkpoint because you know, there was a fire started at the correctional. Lisa?

Then a checkpoint that pulled over, and Beth does what she does really well. She will she's a typical suburban mob, and she well, she is-ish. And she goes, Hey, he he's looking in the back and he's asking about the hockey. And she's like, Yeah, they're traveling hockey team. I mean, he's apparently his son is on the other team for that same week. She's like, Oh, my name is Beth. My, you know, my son's kinny bowling. I'll see you on the ice. And he's like, Yeah, yeah, yeah, I gotta go by, you know, which is amazing. You throw him off the scent. So they pull, like, they pulled off a little ways down because they're gonna drop him off at Canada. He so he comes off the bag, he unzips the bag. And why is he wearing kids?

One, how why is he wearing King? I guess the orange jumpsuit would have been an even bigger red flag, but like you're hiding in a hockey bag, you're very noticeable. I feel like the jumpsuit wasn't the tail tail sign you think it would have been because your faces. Right. And then I was like, well, how does he fit into Kenny's clothes? That's my next thing. Like, how did Well they were? I mean, you could see that they were like real small on him.

Yeah, but the way it's just like okay, they were short, but like the body still fit, the waist fit. Like, there's like I'm just like, this is just weird and it bugs me out. But anyway, yes, I know they got adults small as opposed to a kid's, but it still is kind of weird. Coast is clear, he lit him out. He goes, This isn't Canada, and they're like, Yeah, they're like, huh? Huh? He's like, Yeah, the boss, did he call him Ronaldo? I feel like he called him Ronaldo later on. He does Manolo. Manolo, okay, Lonnie, no sad. He's like, Well, he said, if I saw the fire in the prison lunchroom, he'll let me out. He'll take me to he'll, you know, he'll get me to Canada. And at this point, my debt will be paid. And this is when it clicks to the girls, like, yeah, you're not going to Canada, but okay. He's like, but so why am I here? He goes, Oh, we just want you to use the bathroom, you know. He goes, Oh, I wish you would have told me that five minutes ago. Eh, it's fine. I'm still he was like, I'm horny. Let me just go take care of business. I don't just like, uh that sounds like that, yeah. But he's like, I want to see Nana before I go because I'm never gonna see her. I he goes, This is the last time I want to see her. And then and it's like, well, this is the last time she's gonna see him. Like, we just just do it for him.

And it's team Nana, you know, and yeah. So like fine, like we're gonna be one hour, one hour with Granny, okay? You see the girls at Stan's job are being questioned by an officer, and Stan walks into this, so he's like, So, you know, what's going on? He goes, Like, well, he's like, sir, step back, leave the room. He goes, Oh, you're from like 27. I'm from 13. Right. He's like, so what's going on? He's like, Yeah. Guy said his wife's ringers were missing from this party. So Stan does what Stan does. He's really good at this. He goes, Yeah, sit down, shut up and sit down. Like, and they're like, What the fuck? You and I know what he's doing, right? But they're like, What the fuck? He's like, Yeah, you know, these girls here. He's like, Yeah, if I would you check the locker, here's the key. And he gets to the locker. He goes, But you know, I was at that party and there was some shady people there. So he deflects from the locker. He's like, you know, just keep an eye on them. He's like, Yeah, next, you know, we'll hook you up with a private room and a bottle or some shit.

Yeah, like when you and the and the guys want to come down, I'll hook you up. The guy's like, Yeah, yeah. Oh, why'd you leave the the you know the cops? And he's like, uh, he goes, you know, because the only danger here is a heel to the face. And he's like, you know, and and the cops like, oh yeah, yeah, you know, fucking men, yeah, and of course, this I can't remember her name.

Don't mind me. She goes, What is that about Stan? He goes, I was deflecting. He's saving your ass. Right. And she goes, Well, things are getting too hot. Maybe we should just, you know, slow down, like stop on the pods for a while. He goes, The fuck we're not.

And I saw a stiffened sign of Stan. Let me tell you, this actor is amazing because the emotion and his plan and the things that he wants to do, and his new position in life now is on his face. Like you can see, he's not the same Stan he was two seasons ago.

And and even he was like, We uh Ruby and my anniversary is coming, 22 years, and I'm not buying my wife an applied. Right, right. She wants a water heater. He's like, I'm not doing that. And I was like, you see, like it just sucks because sometimes I'm not saying it's right, but sometimes that is the path.

I but if and I feel like I think he would like I wouldn't do that and the water heater. The water heater is something we have to do, but for anniversary, I want to do this for my wife.

So but yes, and I get the pain and the suffering that he's going through. So yeah, Stan is really embracing this um criminal mastermind life that I did not expect to see from him. Back at the nursing home. Oh, right, we didn't talk about this. Nana's in a nursing home. She fell. She fell on ice. So I think that, and then that would that's what made Annie like, nope, nope, we gotta go see Nana. Like, she took it personal. She's like, it was it was my fault. She fell, you know. So unfortunately, they were a week too late. Nana died in her sleep the week before. They're in the car waiting for him to bring from picking up the ashes. And as he's getting the car, he gives it to Ruby. He's like, Here, hold this. You always her favorite. And we're all like, no, but okay. He's like, Okay, we have to go. These are her wishes. We gotta go to this lake, which is three hours away, and scatter her ashes. Beth is done, she's running out of patients. He's like, I would throw this shit into the dumpster. We're going. Get in the bag. Oh, it goes in the dumpster.

You see Boomer and Annie in the backseat with their hands on the window, like, no, no, no.

Like two little kids. They take Boomer to take him to Rio. He takes possession, he takes possession of the merchandise, aka Boomer. And Beth, I think she says something along the lines, like, when you have a good employee, you know, we give them a second chance and they prove their point. He's like, no, we're straight. She goes, I didn't mean me. And he's like, well, I got different plans for him. But I don't by now Boomer knows. Right. Because he gave him like, just take care, take him to the lake, take her to the lake. But what I didn't understand is how did that I know she was fighting to not kill him, but that doesn't really that argument didn't apply to Boomer. So nice try.

Well, I guess um by starting the fire, but it really but No, but I guess the second chance would be like not to kill him, let him live, and he has a second chance on life, and and then he'll be loyal. Like you can get him to not boomer. I know, like get him to fat you out or something, but like it's boomer, so you know as soon as he has an opportunity, he's gonna fuck the thing up, fuck it up, right?

And Rio is the king of bat getting rid of bad apples, so nice try. Ruby gets home, and Stan has set up the karaoke machine, and he is doing the whole salt and pepper. Ah, yeah, that was such a great scene. Push it real good. Yes, she uh yeah, that was an amazing scene. And she asks, she's like, how much it costs to rent this? He goes, I didn't rent it, I bought it. She's like, wait, what? And he gets her a diamond ring, and she's like, We're not doing this. This is not who you are. Yeah, like that ring was gorgeous though. What? Listen, she was like, This, she's like, some one of us has, he goes, Well, oh, it's okay. You know, you just break through walls and shit. But she's like, Well, one of us has to be good. And he said, Well, why? He's like, Being good, I'm swimming upstream. I get, and that means I'm tired. And I get that, like the pain. He's like, I'm tired. And then what happens? I get pushed back down again. I gotta do it all over again. Yeah, it's never enough. And he's like, I'm not, he's like, I'm not, I'm not returned the ring.

It's so it's it's kind of ironic, right? Because so um this week I happened to have to go to the ER with someone, and while the doctor was attending to them, they were talking about how they find it so because there was like a commercial on, and I don't know, like it was it was for lazy boy recliners, and she was like, ah, lazy boy. She was like, for the good old lazy American, and she was like, and I'm just kind of like, huh? You know, like, but then so then she goes, you know, because everyone thinks that Americans are so lazy, she's like, but we work harder in this country than anywhere else, like we have no quality of life. She goes, people from other countries always associate Americans with lazy because that's the stereotype in the TV. And she's like, but all of my friends who come here from other places thinking that they're gonna make a better life, and a lot of them hate it because they're like, wait, you work so hard, you you have nothing to show for it. You just work, work, work, and it's like yeah, yeah. We work, I feel like we work harder here for less than and and everywhere else. But sure, we're lazy because we like, you know, we like TV, it's just so stupid, you know? And it but it's true, she was right, you know.

I love that also because Ben is sitting in the waiting room, and when Dr. Cohen comes out, you know, he's like, Oh, can I help you? And he's like, I want to talk to you about my mom. And he's like, Who's your mom? And Ben is like, how many year old, how many adults go to a kid?

He's like freedom fighter. Freedom fighter. He goes, You are definitely your mom's son. So, in response to that, Annie's disappointment, she meets, I can't remember her name, but I know what Lisa just said. And Josh is like, hey, she's gonna tutor you. She's also my fucking girlfriend. So I was just like, Josh, okay, yes, Annie has sometimes has boundary issues, but at the same time, Josh did not act like he had a girlfriend.

I yeah, and also I Well, maybe he was so oblivious that he didn't realize I think that was a big part of it that he I'm just being nice. I don't know. Which which is kind of weird because like you're a therapist, and I know that you crossed the line some therapists are not fortune tellers, but I feel like you should have already picked up on some of her behaviors. However, if we are giving him all the benefits of all the doubts, I think that he just saw it as like a friendship and like kind of. But like more of like somewhere between acquaintance and friendship, where okay, because remember, she was like, Oh, you hugged me and blah blah blah. And he was like, No, but it's and so I think that he thought, okay, well, they got that out of the way, they're on the same page now, so they're just like getting along, they're just helping each other, they're just being friendly. I think that he thought that issue was squashed, and then when Ben brought it up again, that's when he realized, oh shit, no, it's not.

Every time I'm gonna call bullshit because whenever there's like those little moments, like the pizza moment, he has a moment of self-reflection. Every time they have like every time she leaves the room after one of their little quips after their, you know, the little banter, he look like the look in his face is always like, yeah, it's a self-reflection, like he knows he's crossing the line. But that's the thing, also, right? He he is crossing the line, but he knows it. So it's not like, oh, we're just being friends. So I he knows he's like it's not like it's not even hindsight. It's like at the moment, after the pizza thing, he's like, damn, I did do too much. Like it's after every situation, he's like, damn, that was too much. Yeah, you can't you can only do that so many times before you realize it's not it, it's not unintentional. So that's why oh, oh my leg, oh my leg, I like to sleep. The closing montage are the ladies are back in business, they're doing their their damn thing, they're making the money, they're drinking their wine, and now enter new problems.
