SPEAKER_02

Hi, and welcome to this episode of Sats and Tips. Today we are talking about Good Girls, Season 2, Episode 9, One Last Time. I'm Lisa, and thanks to someone who ordered a bunch of sangria. I made a little extra and I've got some to sip on.

SPEAKER_01

Shut up.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. Yeah. And it's easy.

SPEAKER_01

I'm jelly. Yeah. Lisa's sangria is amazing. I think everyone should order some sangria from Lisa.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, I had an order on Friday.

SPEAKER_01

But you don't have but you don't get paid for it because you don't have a liquor license, so you don't get paid for the order.

SPEAKER_02

Okay. No, she just yeah, no, no. I gave it to somebody as a gift, and then they um yeah, they surprised me with a gift. You know, gas and tolls. These port authority tolls are expensive. What can I say? Shit, they are. No lies. That's not even a lie. I know. It's not.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, you need like a half a paycheck.

SPEAKER_02

It's a hostage situation. One listen, one toll is more than minimum wage. That's a hostage situation. Like if you can't pay a toll, yeah. Yeah. Anyway, welcome to New York. And who are you? I'm sorry. Who am I speaking with?

SPEAKER_01

I have absolutely no idea. I am I was forced to be here against my will. I don't know who I am or what I'm doing here. And I'm Agnes. Rio. Rio. It's the only reason I'm here. Yeah. Okay. I remember now. Rio. I'm Agnes. And I am drinking some Jesus juice. Water into wine. Is yeah. It's pre-Jesus juice. Pre-Jesus juice. See, I was gonna lie for the sake of lying, but no, you just threw me out there. Nope, fine. Truth is, I am drinking pre-Jesus juice. What did you say? You're coming in and out. I heard nothing you said.

SPEAKER_02

Could you check your into you heard that? Okay. All right. Hold. Holding. Any better?

SPEAKER_01

So far, we'll find out as we record.

SPEAKER_02

Okay.

SPEAKER_01

Let's be real here. We won't know until we actually start to say something important. What is it? What are you doing with your tongue in that straw, Lisa? I I wasn't as long as I could. I was trying to not make the comment. Why are we doing it? I'm like, please stop. I'm disturbed. Alex is no longer recording with us, Lisa. You could keep that.

SPEAKER_02

I went downstairs and licked his ear. And the the kids are like, ew. Look away, children, look away. How do you think you got here?

SPEAKER_01

I was gonna say that, but it wouldn't be inappropriate. More so than normal. Yeah. Anyhow. Any hot takes about this episode? I have one hot take. Okay.

SPEAKER_02

And it's it's just such a dichotomy, right? Between entitlement where you think that you can just walk into any situation and it's like, no, but it's okay. And you're gonna be okay, and you're gonna just like do what you want and get what you want. Because why?

SPEAKER_01

Right, right?

SPEAKER_02

So it's like I'm watching it and I'm just kind of like, if this was any other show, you would be scared of these people. You would you would be calling the cops on them so fast. And now you're just like acting like, mmm, like you can just walk into any situation. Like that's some real fucking entitlement bullshit. That's my hot take.

SPEAKER_01

And it's about the show completely, not the sisters episode, right? Because I've a little confused.

SPEAKER_02

Well, yeah, yeah. Okay, I was like, but like, especially after the whole episode, like with the W and all that. Yeah. And then like she she's walking into the bar in this episode, and it's like, oh, I need I need $35,000. And he's like, that's nice.

SPEAKER_01

Like the end, you know, you would go up and ask the CEO of uh of a illegal enterprise. Hey, I want $35,000.

SPEAKER_02

I don't even want to ask for a day off if I don't have to, and I'm entitled to it. Like, I you know what I mean? Like, I feel like things are so different when you have to scrape and struggle and and just always kind of be working harder than the people around you to stay unnoticed, right? Like we're working harder to not be noticed, right? You don't want anyone to think of you because it can have negative situations, a negative connotation, rather. So, like, we don't ask for time off, we don't ask if we can leave early, we don't slack off because the last thing that we want to do is give anyone fodder to be like, no, they're somebody needs to be like, oh, oh, it's that person. They asked for a day off. And it and it's not because we're not entitled to it or because we can't, but it's like I have that that mentality where you don't call out, you don't miss a day, you don't whatever. Even though it's all part of your work, you still don't like take advantage of it because you feel almost like, oh, I shouldn't be doing this.

SPEAKER_01

That looks like it's I shouldn't be taking vacation or my I shouldn't use any of my PTO time that I'm allowed, but you know, because if I am, they look at me like I'm fucking crazy. Like I have six holes in my head.

SPEAKER_02

I know, and I'm and I'm so sure that like I'm not the only one who feels like that. And I know that it's on one hand, it's kind of irrational because, you know, whatever. Like they might not think about it like that, but it's just such a fear.

SPEAKER_01

Because to be fair, to be fair, to your point, there maybe still is, but I know I don't give a fuck anymore. Back in my previous life, yes, you can have time off, but you can tell they're like fine. Like they didn't want to give it to you, and there was a little like you need a whole week off. Like, there was always something was little microaggressions about you using your time off. So you're not crazy, you're not being irrational because those microaggressions, and it's funny how people could notice those microaggressions when it comes time for their PTO sign, but you know, race-wise, oh, it's just a figure of our imagination. That's not true, but I digress. So, any hot takes about this episode? Fucking Beth.

SPEAKER_02

I was kind of like fucking Beth. Like, you know, and thinking about the entitlement issue, and then it's like watching her work her way through this episode, it was kind of like up and down, up and down, up and down. Like Beth, you don't know where the fuck you need to be. You need to make up your mind. It's like you want this, you expect this, then you tell Dean one thing, and then you tell them the other thing, and then you're like, oh, I realize, and then and then it's like, oh no, Dean, this and that, and then you you invite Rio to your house, and then you're like, Oh, but my family is coming home, and I'm out of the game, and which is it? Like, it's just she was making me crazy this episode. Beth was making me crazy, and Annie, oh my god, Annie, I know you're a little bit of a loose canon, but I really hope that they ended the episode where they ended it to make us think that she was gonna do something stupid, and then she didn't. And Ruby and Stan. I think that Ruby fucked up, but maybe not what you're thinking for. And I love that Stan was like, and what you do, and she's like, and I did this, and you're cool with it. He was like, it is what it is. Like I fucking love their relationship.

SPEAKER_01

It makes me a little like a little sad, but I'm like, I want that.

SPEAKER_02

I I want let me not say like I want, right? But like I kind of like the perfect scenario is like if there was a guy who was somewhere in between Rio and Stan, that a Rio Stan baby, yeah. Yeah, because like they both have somebody's back. But there's the danger with Rio, it's a little, it's it's a little hot, you know. I'm not gonna lie. And it's not like cop danger, because then you're just worried, like, oh my god, like is he gonna get shot today? Like, is he not coming home?

SPEAKER_01

No, this is sexy danger.

SPEAKER_02

Mm-hmm. Yeah, it is, it is. And the fact that he just he just fucking does what he wants and like he'll just appear at your house and just be sitting there, like whatever. It's it's kind of attractive, I'm not gonna lie. So, yeah, okay. Alex, are you listening? Anywho, all right, those are my hot takes.

SPEAKER_01

Interesting, and now the episode is over. All right, see you guys next week. Okay, see you bye. Should we talk about the episode? We can do really quickly.

SPEAKER_02

I didn't even write any notes about this episode because I was like, I don't even need them.

SPEAKER_01

Okay, so it opens up with Stan pouring himself some coffee and Ruby goes, That's it. I give up. I'm like, what the hell? She goes, I can't get those kids out the bed. I was like, Oh, that's so funny. And he does what any person, any sane parent would do. He goes to the piano and he starts playing like the creepy scary music.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, and the kids are not like that's nasty, that's diabolical.

SPEAKER_01

Um, and it works. The kids aren't having it.

SPEAKER_02

And this such a per like, and as somebody with a family, it's so perfect because he's like, he sits down, he plays the spooky music, and the kids come out, and she's like, We're gonna have nightmares. And he's like, then don't be sleeping. Like it's so natural, like, and it's it's beautiful because in those moments, like, believe me, we're there every morning, right? Waking the kids up, and and thankfully, the one who is not a good waker-upper is past that stage. But I would have loved to have that partnership and somebody who kind of made it fun, you know, like and worked with me instead of it being like a stressful thing. Because that that's oh, and it's not, and I don't say that because I mean it as like Alex did something wrong. No, it's just that it's stressful in the morning because we're trying to get ready, we're trying to get these kids up, and then when one doesn't want to wake up, it's like to have someone who understands that and then is like, okay, I got you. Like, let's work on this, and and then does something unconventional like out think out of the box? I love that.

SPEAKER_01

So go get a piano now. A piano, yeah. Thank you.

unknown

Look what I got.

SPEAKER_01

Hey, the doors allowed let's bring it to the kitchen. I'm waiting for the channel.

SPEAKER_02

Let's put it on the table. Thanks. Watch the dog. Don't let the dog out of your way. No, anyway, so sorry. Um, I don't know what we were saying. Oh, Ruby and Stan in the piano.

SPEAKER_01

That was it. We'll end the episode. See you guys tomorrow. No, and during this beautiful moment, this is when the stupid FBI guy decided he wants to arrest Stan in front of his family. And the cop that was with him was so embarrassed. Like the cop, he was like, I he didn't want to do this.

SPEAKER_02

Um, yeah, and it's like, I know, Agent Turner, I know you're just trying to make a point, and you're doing it on purpose. Do it in his house. You did not have to do it in front of the kids. Like, that was so shitty. So shitty. Like, come on, and I know I'm I'm a fucking bleeding heart and all this shit. He still would have gone. If you didn't put the cuffs on him, he still would have gone. If you rang his doorbell and said come outside, he still would have gone. You knew your audience, and you did it on purpose before school. Like he did it, he chose that time of the day. Yes, you chose maximum hurt for his family. And then he gets worse, not Ruby, but the kids.

SPEAKER_01

But it gets worse. Jimmy's tactics get worse, as we'll see throughout the episode. Beth then, you see, the next scene opens with Beth waking up to the sounds of her kids playing and laughing, and she gets up and they're like making breakfast, like, oh, we're making pancakes. And it is all the dream. I used to read World Up magazine. Sorry, you knew it was coming.

SPEAKER_02

I did really like the cinematography on this because there she wakes up and you're hearing like this really upbeat music playing, and it's like very light, very upbeat, very bubbly, very happy feeling. And she opens her door and she sees the kids and they're they're making the pancakes, they're making a mess, and then the music abruptly stops. Like, not at the end of the beat, not at the end of the line, kind of mid.

SPEAKER_01

It's yeah, not a natural ending. It's just the like it's like mid-sentence, right? The needle on the record. Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

And you realize that no, they're not there, it's empty. So I really, I really, really did like that scene for that reason.

SPEAKER_01

Side note, and they have those type of scenes in TV movies all the time. You know, it's a memory and then it stops, you know. They see something, you know, they have family members. You know, we see this montage a lot. I just know if that happens to me, my next thing, I'm calling my doctor for MRI because I had a brain tumor. Because that doesn't happen in real life. Like, we don't like see a memory, we don't see our well, like we don't see that. I'm just joking. But like we don't go into the kitchen and just smile because we see like our kids there. Like, okay, that's it. I'm on this TV.

SPEAKER_02

Well, we don't smile, we're like, oh fuck, this is gonna be one hell of a mess to clean up.

SPEAKER_01

No, I'm like, okay, I'm gonna call my doctor.

SPEAKER_02

But how I think I'm having a but how else would you convey a memory on TV? It's a joke. Oh, okay. Haha, that was so funny.

SPEAKER_01

I'm hanging up now. You know what? Going forward, Lisa will lead this episode. No, she's not getting my my smart ass jokes, she's only known me for fucking 40 years. I don't want to hear it. Sorry, I don't want to hear it. I'm blowing your spot up. You've known me for 39 years. Ish, and you don't get my humor?

SPEAKER_02

Okay, fine. Sorry, I think I'm a little bit delirious. This is the first day off I've had where I haven't had to set an alarm in many, many, many days. Uh and I'm eating pizza and drinking sangria, and I'm a little bit delirious.

SPEAKER_01

I have a pint of turtle dub ice cream, no cut frozen custard in my freezer. Actually, I have four pints, and I would like to go eat that. So okay, so let's work on this. I'm not allowed to eat. I'm not allowed to eat for recording.

SPEAKER_02

That's right.

SPEAKER_01

That's right. As she's eating her pizza.

SPEAKER_02

Mm-hmm. Sucks, doesn't it?

SPEAKER_01

That doesn't bother me. I'd rather have i- You're a liar.

SPEAKER_02

I'd rather have ice cream. No, right? Yeah, because you want to eat too.

SPEAKER_01

My head hurts. I want my mommy.

SPEAKER_02

I want to lay down. Don't you go bringing that into this, trying to act like it's okay, because you know that that's like, you know.

SPEAKER_01

It's not bothering me though.

SPEAKER_02

You're a liar. It's not. Okay, what happens next after Beth's hallucination?

SPEAKER_01

Um, Beth hallucinates meeting Dean at the park. No. They're at the park, and um they're talking about their future and all the shitty things that's happening, and that part was kind of like that, those two minutes bored me to tears.

SPEAKER_02

So, yeah, but he also starts bringing up Rio, and he's like, and this is where you used to meet him. Yeah, he's like all fucking in the Crimea River.

SPEAKER_01

And they're like, Yeah, he has a son, um, Emma's age.

SPEAKER_02

And this is where mommy meets the guy with the tattoos. So, yeah. But Dean is like, so this is where you meet him, and Beth is like, well, actually, far away from the kids. Clearly, not far enough because your kid caught on.

SPEAKER_01

But she makes a good point. Like, this is how we made this is how he paid the bill, so we can just get an apartment. She's like, Yeah, with four kids. Like, I love his, I mean, love sarcastically. Like, he's like, Yeah, we can make all these sacrifices in theory, but you know damn well. Okay, people do it every day. But his epic fuck-ups, I'm not talking, I'm not talking like they hit a bad tie. Their situation wasn't a Ruby and Stan situation. It was actually his epic fuck-ups, his intentional epic fuck-ups that got them into this place. Because I'm pretty sure if their situation was just like shit happens, they would not be where they are as a couple. Right. And he was a catalyst for her doing how she's doing it, not why she did it. That makes sense?

SPEAKER_02

Of course it makes sense.

SPEAKER_01

It's the how and how deep she's going into it. And he learns that lesson later on this episode.

SPEAKER_02

But while she found out that the mortgage was so far behind and he was cheating, she never would have, I don't think she ever would have signed on to rob a store.

SPEAKER_01

And even if she did, she would not be in bed figurely and literally with Rio. It would have been like, okay, we gotta do this. Because Ruby said, yes, let's rob this thing because they needed the money. So I they were absolutely, like I said, how she got into it, she still would have it would have happened, but the whys would have happened, but how she went into it would totally be different, and how deep the situation. Please edit out my um this is yeah, um, yeah. You know, like in reality TV shows, like on The Housewives, when they want something quote unquote edited out, you don't know this, but they believe that all they have to do is say bravo, bravo, bravo, like and then the producers have to cut it out, like kind of like breaking the fourth wall. No, bitch, it doesn't work that way. So lisa, lisa, lisa, sass and sips, sass and sips. Beetle juice, beetle juice, beetle juice. Candy man. Bloody Mary. If I'm not here next week, you know why. And he gets a visit from Greggles, and that is now his name. I can't call him anything else but Greggles.

SPEAKER_02

No, it's definitely Greggles.

SPEAKER_01

It's great. And He so kindly to thank Annie for being there at the birth of his son.

SPEAKER_02

He's like, thank you for delivering my son, my son. Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

He brings her a Starbucks gift card. And she's like, okay. And he goes, Well, it'd be weird to give you like a spa or a tennis bracelet. She goes, So you give me a Starbucks gift card. Right. She's like, the same thing you give to your card. Right.

SPEAKER_02

I mean, what do you give someone in that situation? I feel like nothing or something better.

SPEAKER_01

And I think I think nothing would have been better at this point. And then honestly, it was your ex-wife, or I'm I'm using any ex-wife, ex-girlfriend, or whatever.

SPEAKER_02

The mother you're the mother of one of your kids helping the mother of your new wife accept that you're astrayed from her because you're sleeping with this one. Right. Like you really should have got her the diary tennis bracelet. Maybe nothing. Maybe nothing. Right. Maybe just thank you. Written her a letter and saying like thanks. Something. I don't know. Yeah, I know things are weird, but like thank you for being there for her. I don't know, but like, I don't know.

SPEAKER_01

I don't right. Bouquet flowers may have been even better. Like that. You know, I'm like, yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, ooh, ooh. An edible arrangement.

SPEAKER_01

You know, the chocolate dipped one. Oh, yeah. Oh, absolutely.

SPEAKER_02

And it's gotta have the pineapple too.

SPEAKER_01

The pineapples. It has to have pineapple. I'd rather have all pineapples than anything else. Okay. No, no, no. I like the strawberries. Oh, the strawberries and pineapples. Um, the melons, not so much. It's always a hit or miss of melons. If you don't get it right, then it's yeah. But other than that, yeah.

unknown

Okay.

SPEAKER_02

No, that's fair. That's fair.

SPEAKER_01

And then he sees Josh walking out with a rope, but he is so not happy about this. And I love that for him. I do. I love that.

SPEAKER_02

Have you seen my pants? Like, first of all, you know that this dude realized who was at your door and came out to ask if you had just to make a point. That's some shit Alex would do.

SPEAKER_01

And I co-signed that. I'm not mad at it either. It's pee on your spot. Yeah. Um, so he pissed it on his spot. Um he marked his territory. Gregg's did not like that at all. Like, how dare his ex-wife who's single be moving on?

SPEAKER_02

I know he was like, Oh, you move fast. Fuck off. Dude, your whole wife, your whole wife. You have a whole wife and baby. And a new baby. Yeah, fuck off. I do what I want, bitch. And today it's not you. Whatever, I do what I want. And today that's not you. Maybe it was yesterday.

SPEAKER_01

Um, and then of course, Ruby is back at the Payday Lawn place. And he's like, Well, welcome back. He's such a dick.

SPEAKER_02

He really is. I honestly though, he's such a dick, but I kind of like I like him. I like him. Like, I want to be his friend.

SPEAKER_01

You're like the New York dick. Like, he's just a New York jaded New York, like, does. Like you're you're a dick, but you're not wrong.

SPEAKER_02

You know what I mean? So you really Right. Well, that that's the thing, right? Like, as the saying goes, like, New Yorkers are not nice, but they're kind. Yes. And and that's who he is. Yes. That's exactly who he is.

SPEAKER_01

And he's like, okay, he has how much is like 35. He's like, okay, 3,500. He goes, she's like, no, 35,000. He goes, what did he say? He said, what do you think this is to kind of make a wish, miracle play? Like, I don't know what he said. It was some sarcastic shit. Yeah, I don't remember. Um, so yeah, she didn't get the money that way. But her next stop is to the girls, and she's given up the, she's has his plan. Like, we're gonna hit the payday load. She already has the map and everything. Like she's ready to go. He's a dick. And like he's a Annie's only Annie's down, but she's like, I want to pay out the mask. She's like, Bet. Annie's like, I'm in. And Beth is like, no, I don't think so. And she's like, I'm gonna lose my kids. But Beth, that's what Beth does. She says no until she needs it, and then she's all about it. But this time it was little, but to be fair, she did it before Stan though. Because after she got, she tried to go through it another way, but when she came back to Ruby's house, she's like, Stan is dead because I'm not. I'm in.

SPEAKER_02

You know, so she's like, Well, yeah, but I mean, Stan was already arrested at this point.

SPEAKER_01

So that's what the 35 is for. It's to get his bail money. So she's like, okay, fine. He's I guess she realized he's there because I'm not. So I'm in.

SPEAKER_02

Well, after after the bar and after she was after the after a whole bunch of other shit.

SPEAKER_01

Then finally, but yeah, Beth, Beth Befs. Oh my god. So you know I do voice to text, and and it says bad acts video for help getting the money. I'm like, what? Oh, Beth Axe Vio. It's like it's like an encryption program. Beth asks him for the $35,000 because she has the balls to ask a CEO of a illegal organization for $35,000.

SPEAKER_02

I get it. You're you're dealing in like tens of thousands of dollars. So who else will have it? But like that's uh big fucking ask.

SPEAKER_01

Um he said, yeah, sure. As soon as you give me my ch my cut, I'll uh I'll set you up with some, you know, gift wrapping. That's what we call it. She's like, uh no, he asked, Well, how's my take coming? She goes, slow.

SPEAKER_02

He goes, Yeah, I I love it. And he's like, Oh, so those little boys didn't feel bad and bring back the money.

SPEAKER_01

The money? That I was like, I knew Lisa was gonna like that part. Yeah, so it's pretty much like when you give me my cut, I'll set you up another job, and then you have your 35,000, right? Seems fair to me, right?

SPEAKER_02

I thought that was fair, so but wait a minute, and that's like even in the last episode, where she's like, Oh yeah, well, I didn't deliver the car, you do it, and then she still expects her fucking share.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, so back to what you said earlier about the whole entitlement. What did you just whisper? Oh, yeah, yeah. I bet you if Rio was a Caucasian head of a crime syndicate, she would not be treating him that way.

SPEAKER_02

She also wouldn't want to be like, I watched a TikTok yesterday and he was like, there is a difference. It was a black guy. He was like, There's a difference between white people and people who happen to be white. He was like, people who happen to be white, they get it. He was like, white people don't get it.

unknown

Oh, I get that.

SPEAKER_02

I was like, that is accurate, yes.

SPEAKER_01

People who are white people just happen to be white, yeah. Yeah, it's like white and white.

unknown

White.

SPEAKER_02

It's like you use mayo and you use cool whip.

SPEAKER_01

Milk whip, you mean miracle whip.

SPEAKER_02

Oh my god. See, I don't even fucking know.

SPEAKER_01

If you put cool whip in a sandwich, I'll be looking at you real, you're high as fuck.

SPEAKER_02

I don't I don't eat cool whip either. Sorry, I don't know. Miracle whip, yeah, that one.

SPEAKER_01

And it was some whip shit. Cool whip. I'm not that white. Milk whip is not cool whip is good for everybody. Milk whip is not.

unknown

Okay.

SPEAKER_01

Cool whip is just like a whip dessert, and you can just eat that the bowl.

SPEAKER_02

See, I happen to be white. Sorry, I don't know this stuff.

SPEAKER_01

And what the hell am I? I'm just a fat ass.

SPEAKER_02

Also, maybe I am that white because here I am making assumptions about shit I don't know about.

SPEAKER_01

So you are you happen to be white with white moments. I am blonde. You have white moments. Okay. This is when Beth comes to Ruby's house drunk with her tail between her legs. And of course, she's down, but she wants to pick the mask.

SPEAKER_02

I'm like, but didn't Annie already get danced on the mask? I know. Like, first of all, it's so shitty. Like, your sister was like, I'm in, but I want to pick the mask. Okay, what the fuck is the big deal about picking the masks? Who cares? And I feel like they should just be black. Like, why would you pick anything that's not black?

SPEAKER_01

Why let me be black for? Why does it have to be black for? Because I'm being a smart ass Lisa. No, I was gonna say, no, but like you are, I don't know if you're not high enough or too high. I'm not high at all. That's the problem, because everything's just going over your fucking head. We'll have to end this episode until she gets because she's not right. So drink more.

SPEAKER_02

I've drank half of my jar of sangria, and half of us has ice, so that doesn't count.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, but um, no, because you don't want to be remembered. Lisa, I know, but that was a smart ass, it was a smart ass comic. Why gotta be black for? Okay, you know what? I am done. This episode's over with. Lisa is not cooperating because she's too sober. I give up.

SPEAKER_02

Sorry.

SPEAKER_01

And I'll all I'm drinking is water. Was that what the hell are you doing with that? I don't know. Lisa's playing with her food. She's okay. I'm gonna make this real short and sweet. Um so now that they have they're going to do this one last time, Ruby's getting the kids ready to go to their grandparents' house. And they of course they have questions about Stan being in jail and all that other stuff. And when the little brother leaves, her daughter asks, Did he do what they said he did? And Ruby's trying to, you know, this and that that's simple.

SPEAKER_02

Her daughter's like, well, did he complicated?

SPEAKER_01

He's like, Yes. But he needs to be able to do it.

SPEAKER_02

I had an issue with that.

SPEAKER_01

Also, um, what was your issue?

SPEAKER_02

My issue is you the girl asked if he did it. Now, you and I have all the facts. That little girl is asking a yes or no question. And as we know, right, when you're young, things are very black and white, and when you're older, you can see the gray. So when Ruby said it's complicated, that was an accurate story. But then she's like, Well, yes or no, and she's like, Yes, and I have an issue because we know that the only reason Stan did it was to keep Ruby from being arrested.

SPEAKER_01

I would have just said no.

SPEAKER_02

Right. Because it is complicated, so I feel like she should have said no, he didn't do what they said. Because also, why would you want your husband is is not a criminal, like he yes, he did a criminal act, right? But there's a difference between bad act and bad person. And he did a bad act because he's a good person, he did it to protect the children.

SPEAKER_01

She's not old enough to understand that. So the easiest and to keep from ruining this child's relationship with her father and how she sees the world, this is wouldn't have been no, he didn't. It would have been quick, it would have been easier. And then she gets old, no, she can hate you when she gets older, but right now, let's keep it right, right, or at least say no, but or yes, but and and give it some context. And I think even at this time, that but wouldn't have gone really far with her at this point.

SPEAKER_02

No, not necessarily, but at but at least it would have been something to make the kid understand that it's not just that simple.

SPEAKER_01

She did when she said it was complicated, and she didn't want as a child, she didn't she didn't want to hear that. I think the best thing would have like she I yeah, that was a bad move. And I probably it was probably just she's kind of gone, I think, and didn't know what to say, it wasn't thinking.

SPEAKER_02

Listen, and I I'm very big on being honest with your kids, right? But but again, sometimes the truth does a disservice and kids you like nobody knows their kids like the the parent. So I think that Ruby should have known better than to think that her kid was just gonna like get it from one word. So I don't know. I I I definitely disagreed with that part of it.

SPEAKER_01

I concur. So Annie is gets a knock on the door, and it's Josh, and he says, I know you're supposed to give like two days, uh you don't want to look like a stalker, but it's tomorrow in India. And I was like, Oh, how cute, whatever. So I ordered, you know, I ordered pizza. She goes, to deliver it here. He's like, Yeah, I thought we could hang out. That's kind of cute though. I kind of like that though. If it wasn't like an FBI agent, I'm trying to point on this. I mean, he's already been to your house, you've already slept together. I mean, at this point, he wants to like, I don't know.

SPEAKER_02

Anyway, yes, like even on face value, that he was like, Oh, but then I thought of this, and I ordered a salad, but then I was like, oh, but Chinese food and right he's like, I ordered a salad, he got the wings, and I felt gross.

SPEAKER_01

I ordered a salad too, and then Chinese food.

SPEAKER_02

Right. On face value, I am so not mad at somebody ordering four different what I want.

SPEAKER_01

That's what I usually want, though, four different things, but not yeah, same.

SPEAKER_02

But also, it's kind of like uh the part that I would not like is that you just assumed that I was just gonna be home and have nothing to do, and like I was gonna entertain you. And then you ordered food to my house. Like it wasn't like you got here and then and you brought it at least. You didn't bring it with you, you ordered it here. So you already assumed that I was gonna let you in, that I had no plans, that we were just gonna be here. And to me, that's where I'm like, Okay, but she had plans, and what did she do? She goes, I'll be back. Right, she was like, Oh, I have something with my sister. And he was like, Oh, well, can I come? And she's like, Well, no, like, you know, it's personal and fine, like obviously, you know, she couldn't go because you know what she had to do was robbery, like armed robbery, but still, um, you know, she's like, Oh, you could just stay here. I would have been like, motherfucker, you can sit outside and wait for your food.

SPEAKER_01

Like, I wouldn't think about, you know.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, I would not leave somebody in my no apartment. Like, I don't care if I've slept with you, like weird.

SPEAKER_01

I wouldn't even go out and take out my trash where someone's still in my house. Yeah, I wouldn't leave them alone long enough to go to my trash.

SPEAKER_02

That yeah. And I and I don't have anything to hide, but it's just that's my personal space.

SPEAKER_01

It's my sanctuary.

SPEAKER_02

It's just weird. Like I'm not comfortable with that.

SPEAKER_01

Beth, well, Annie is getting United Nations of food delivered to her house, and I'm not mad at it. Beth is eating her Ling Cuisine or her one of her TV dinner meals and looking very sad and pathetic.

SPEAKER_02

And then the next thing I have a hot take about that.

SPEAKER_01

Okay, what's your hot take?

SPEAKER_02

If you're eating a TV dinner, not only should you not be sitting at the table, right?

SPEAKER_01

At a table, right?

SPEAKER_02

But you you also are not using a knife and fork. Like, can we stop? Eat it with the fork, eat it with your hands, eat it in your bed in front of the TV. Like it's a TV dinner, it's supposed to be trashy. Like, you know what I mean? Like, you don't invite a lot of people.

SPEAKER_01

You're fucking up the whole thing, right?

SPEAKER_02

And then and then later when she's like, Oh, I didn't have time to what? Throw it in the trash? There's nothing to it.

SPEAKER_01

It's she's still yeah, she's not coping well.

SPEAKER_02

So that's just laziness. Like, there's no dishes to wash, there's no food to put away.

SPEAKER_01

It's actually less work than she had when she had the kids. I think that's part of it. I think that's intentional. She had more things to do when she had her kids and she did it. Yeah, and the fact that she's she's lost, she's not, she's not coping, like she cannot throw it. It's just so stupid. Like, just yeah, just slide it into the trash. I think that was intentional. I think that was intentional. Yeah, you know. Um, so that night, later on, after she eats a wonderful dinner, she's in the car with a girl. She's like, I'm starving. Uh that ling cuisine or whatever it was called. Annie was like, she's like, the fuck? She's like, well, they're 10 for 10 at Kroger's. She's like, of course, you can't. That is a that nowhere is that nowhere.

SPEAKER_02

Right.

SPEAKER_01

I can't. Um, she goes, of course they are. You have to eat four of them to get filled, to get full. And then Annie and Ruby go on, like, I have a ling cuisine, I have a lean meal for you. One-fourth of a Big Mac. And then they get her and Annie go back and forth, like, this whole plan.

SPEAKER_02

Uh-huh. Three French fries.

SPEAKER_01

It still tastes better. It'll still taste better. That's true. And they're not wrong. And I want to order Chinese food. You know how, Lisa, how we used to order Chinese food when we used to record all day? I know. What happened to us?

SPEAKER_02

Our bank account.

SPEAKER_01

Good point. Um, so they go into um rob the payday long place. They have them mask, Ruby's in the car because she's a good idea recognizer. Right. And he's so chill. He's like, okay, I'll unlock it. And it's locked. He's like, Yeah, it's on timer, killed it till tomorrow.

SPEAKER_02

He was like, I'm having to do this all night, but it won't.

SPEAKER_01

Well, listen. He was like in the morning, so they do what they have to do. They're in the car.

SPEAKER_02

He was like, he was like, You could come back in the morning, I'll bring the croissants. Like, he is such a fucking New Yorker.

SPEAKER_01

So they see they see him, they see his bluff, and they raised him one. And he's now been kidnapped. He has he's been blindfolded and his headphones on his head and tied up. He is like the professional hostage. He's so chill about everything. He's a professional hostage, and I'm loving his love for Phil Collins.

SPEAKER_02

I know, it's so random.

SPEAKER_01

Um, so while this is all happening, Josh is back at Annie's house going through her shit. Gee, I wonder why. And Sadie catches him going through her closet, going through Annie's closet. And she's like, What are you doing? He's like, Oh, I'm looking for towels. He's like, they're in the closet, like the hallway closet. And the fact that she bought that, I was disappointed because she's a smart cookie crumber. It's like, what the hell? Well, he's a smart cookie.

SPEAKER_02

Wasn't he in Sadie's room at that point?

SPEAKER_01

I thought I couldn't remember. I didn't, I couldn't tell.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, I didn't, I wasn't sure, but I was like, is he in Sadie's room? Like, I don't know what's going on.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, I think so because it's about ties. He's like, Oh, you're like Ty Windsor.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, she was like, I don't know. He's like, um I was like, um, I thought you were smarter than that. I'm disappointed you, but yeah, and now we see Jimmy intimidating Stan, and this is when it all falls apart for Stan in his mind. I think this was the linchpin for Stan. Because Jimmy's an asshole. And we know, yes, we know cops can lie to suspects, we know that. But he's like, I'm gonna lie to everybody, I'm gonna lie to the DA, I'm gonna lie about everything I have for you that I have. I'm just gonna so he's like, so at the end of that conversation when Stan goes, No, we're not the same. He meant it as the highest form of an insult as possible. Oh, yeah. Um, because Stan is a good man, and he you just like you say, he doesn't bad thing for a good reason. I think the fact that Jimmy is willing to twist and pervert the law for quote unquote justice just ruined it for.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, because he's like, Oh, well, I I got a witness that saw you, and Stan's like, Who? And he's like, I don't know, but I'm sure that that person is out there.

SPEAKER_01

I'll find one.

SPEAKER_02

Right. Yep. And then he's like, he said, I forgot what he said, and then he's like, or maybe I have a witness. That saw you take money. And he's like, I I don't remember like verbatim, but he was like, but no, you don't. And he was like, well, he was like, it doesn't really matter, right? As long as how we get to justice, as long as it's served, or something like that. And it's like, so you're willing to lie, cheat, and steal to get what you think is the right outcome. But when Stan lies, cheats, and steal for his wife, that's wrong. But like again, this is not the Bible. You cannot pick and choose when it's okay and when it's not. And the irony is Beth didn't even kill Leslie. Right. Because he wants something that's what he wants. He wants Stan to say, like, that he saw Beth kill and because he really, like he in his head, he thinks she did it.

SPEAKER_01

And that the irony is that she did. So you're doing all this to convict one for a crime they did not commit. Right.

SPEAKER_02

And you're willing to make shit up to convict this guy, and it's wrong.

SPEAKER_01

I did forget doing when they brought him, when they drove off, they had to pull over. And Ruby's like, what were you doing? Like, we had to bring him out here. Like, we had to take him until tomorrow. And he got compared to like, so then now we have to take care of him. He's like, yeah, like a like a baby bird. A baby bird. Doing this. So after this, Beth remembered Emma's birthday party at her mother-in-law's. Oh, right. So she goes to the house, and Dean is, you know, it's it's easy to be the fun parent when you don't have to do a 24-7, but that's besides the point. Right. Um, Dean goes, no, you're late. She's like, you know, that Ness in front of the house, the baby bird fell out of it. Did you notice how Dean married his mom? As far as being like the perfect housewife and cut, like, no, you have to. What did she say? Um, did you put the knife in the freezer? She's like, no, I'm gonna run it over and how like they have it right, but how they do different methods of how they do things, and it has to be perfect. And her mother-in-law came clean about how his father was, like, he dipped his pen the inkwell, the company inkwell, quite a few times. She's like, Well, how often? She goes, I stopped counting. Yeah, but he was a good father, and that's all that mattered. Is it though back then? Listen, yeah, her mother-in-law, like women couldn't have credit cards until 1974, okay?

SPEAKER_02

So you're right, you're right.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, it probably was. She goes, Did Dean tell you what happened? She said, Yeah, he said he was too much like his father. So brownie point for Dean, but not, you know. I know. Back to um the baby bird.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, and I like I like that she was in there. Um Jessica Walter. I wanted to call her Lucille One. Maybe you never watched The Breast of Development.

SPEAKER_01

No, Lucille. Oh, no, sorry. My bad.

SPEAKER_02

Lucille One.

SPEAKER_01

Okay.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, I know. It means nothing to you.

SPEAKER_01

I know Liza Manelli, but the show means nothing to me. Okay, Lisa One. Now Agnes 2 isn't going to be speaking. I decided to make a little joke. It wasn't that funny though. I was trying to make it blend, but it didn't blend really well. Like a bad makeup job, you know, you don't blend in the contouring.

SPEAKER_02

Um, I know somebody like that. It's way too orange for my taste, not blended at all.

SPEAKER_01

Okay. They're feeding Annie is feeding the baby bird. He she gives him a notch, a chip. He goes, There's no salsa on that. She goes, All right, give you salsa. He goes, No, no, no. The chip is the vehicle to get the salsa in my mouth.

SPEAKER_02

I like him more and more. Listen, if I was taken hostage and they fed me chips and salsa and a burrito, I'd be like, we could do this every night.

SPEAKER_01

And then he's not like this, this is the second, he goes, she goes, you act like you don't have a gun to your head. He goes, this is the second time this month. Right. And if you're gonna feed me a burrito, I'll take that. Right. And then he says, like, I post these people who don't take care of their business and then yelling at me like I'm their and Ruby's just like, okay.

SPEAKER_02

And he's not, I mean, in one hand, he's not wrong. Like he doesn't need to be yelled at.

SPEAKER_01

He's not he didn't do it, but not everyone, it's not about not taking care of your business. Sometimes it's just shit.

SPEAKER_02

Right.

SPEAKER_01

But he doesn't need to be yelled at either.

SPEAKER_02

Right.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, he's like, so give me my fucking burrito. I want a burrito so bad at that moment.

SPEAKER_02

I want chips and salsa.

SPEAKER_01

So now you have Josh chilling with Sadie and then like having a eating content trying to like shove the pizza in his mouth. I want pizza and wings and Mexican food right now. This is why right. Go ahead. This is why when men ask us what do you want to eat? It's not that we don't know. It's the problem is that we want to live with everything.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, we can't choose which thing we want the most.

SPEAKER_01

That's the problem. Like, if you if I tell you I want tacos from picos, but I want pizza from this joint, and I want Chinese food, that's what I and I want chicken nuggets. Yeah. Like, and I want wings. You would think I'm fucking crazy. So find you a man that'd be like, Bet, I got you. Yeah. Like, I don't want to fool me for all this place. I just want like like a five-piece wings from this plot, three tacos from here, a half, you know, a little bit of everything. Oh, we should open a restaurant called A Little Bit of Everything. Bet.

SPEAKER_02

And then it's like it got Chinese food, it got wings, it got pizza, it got burritos and tacos.

SPEAKER_01

That's what I want. Okay, fuck. Lisa, can we hurry? I want to go order food now, but I have food in the house though. But I want to order food.

SPEAKER_02

Okay.

SPEAKER_01

I get paid tomorrow night. So I can.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, I'm not mad at like them hanging out because number one, we know that he's FBI, so he's aside from his duplicity double double life trying to catch her, like Annie. I'm not mad as a viewer because I know like Sadie's probably not in danger per se. Right.

SPEAKER_01

In this in this case, right now, and they were having a good time. And they were, right? And then Sadie, who's usually a pretty good judge of people, except for believing that fucking lie. Yeah. She was pretty dislike, okay, and chill. But she completely forgot and left her dad downstairs waiting for her for 20 minutes.

SPEAKER_02

I know. They were like watching a movie. She had like four bow ties on.

SPEAKER_01

I know, right? A bow tie a couple of times was kind of cool. Gregors was like, you like, you're always here. I'm like, dude, this is only the second time. Someone's feeling salty. Yeah. So yeah, Gregors was not happy about that. And he kind of made that known. And yeah, that happened then.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, because basically Sadie took too long to go back downstairs, and Greggles was waiting. So he had to go up. And nothing pisses off a parent more than like having to get out of the car when you were supposed to be fast and chase you down.

SPEAKER_01

You're not wrong in that one. Yeah, I know.

SPEAKER_02

I haven't.

SPEAKER_01

But seeing that to do it. But I don't think he would have. But seeing Josh there, he should oh hell no.

SPEAKER_02

Right, because could you imagine? Not only has he been replaced by this guy with Annie, but now his daughter, his kid, you know, has kind of left him to sit there while she hangs out with him. So now he's being replaced by this guy with his own kid. So it's like Oh, wow, wow, wow, wow. Yeah, I'm I I would be kind of pissy too.

SPEAKER_01

But if he wasn't a douchey bag, then I I would have more sympathy as opposed to right. Next morning, all four of them are sleeping in the car waiting for the payday loan place to open. And they're like, okay, wake up. Like it's time to open it, rather. Ruby decides she's going inside. She's like, but you have to drive. She goes, there's something I have to do.

SPEAKER_02

So they get Yeah. I was a little like disappointed in Ruby. I was like, yes, go, but like also a little disappointed. And but go ahead and I'll tell you why.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, because she didn't have to open her mouth.

SPEAKER_02

Or she didn't have to open it that loud. Oh, pure, right.

SPEAKER_01

Like ask him where they keep the right. No, right. So they go in, they get the money, and she's looking for the contracts. And he just goes and doesn't tell her. And as they're leaving, he goes, I knew you'd be back. Bunny. He calls her bunny. Bunny. Bunny?

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, bunny. Like rabbit. Yeah. I didn't know that.

SPEAKER_01

I didn't catch that. But thank you.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, that's how that's how you knew it was her because he's like, I knew you'd be back, Bunny.

SPEAKER_01

I just thought, well, I knew you'd be back. I didn't hear the last part, but the fact that I knew you'd be back was their thing. Like, I didn't, yeah. Okay.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Stan's bail bail is paid, and he comes out, he just gives it the hug. And like you said earlier in the episode, he's like, How'd you do it? She goes, I knocked off a payday loan. And she goes, he goes, which one? He's at the one on Sixth Street. He's a good that guy's a dick. Yeah. And he's he's just, she's like, Are you okay with this? He goes, You do what you have to do. Yeah. And she goes, but what about being a you know your cop? She he says, I don't know what that means anymore. But you know what? Do you know what he does know? He knows what his family is, he knows his family, and ultimately is I love their love.

SPEAKER_02

But also think about it in the grand scheme of things, okay? When Ruby first got into this life of crime, Stan was adamantly opposed to it. That is wrong. He almost had that same kind of black and white viewpoint after seeing the sketchy tactics of Agent Turner, who is not above doing shady things to get his conviction right or wrong.

SPEAKER_01

His gray world got bigger.

SPEAKER_02

Yes. So now he's he's so um what's what's the word like disillusioned? Yeah, like by this whole thing where he thought, like, I'm gonna be a cop so I can do good. And then you see that it's not good and that cops can do shitty things. And I and and I and before I get the hate complaints, please listen closely. I'm not saying that all cops are bad, because I'm sure that there's one or two good ones out there, but what I am saying is that this cop is not this FBI agent is not above it. And so coming from a point where you think that this is the profession that you want to get into because it's not only is it gonna provide for your family, but because you want to do something good, you want to do good for your community, for the world, for the whatever, and then seeing how fucked up somebody in the same position can be and so blatantly about it, of course. All the name of good, right? Or or quote good, right? Yeah, of course it's gonna leave a bad taste in your mouth. So I don't blame him, and it's like, look at that, like it took but one interaction because you know before this he was so guilty about it, so uncomfortable with the whole situation and what he had to do and what he did. And then it took but one bad apple for him to be like, fuck it, I don't even care anymore. And it's like I can see that. That's to me, that's real. That's real, because I'm sure that there are people out there every day who go into things with the best intentions and then see somebody who is in that position, not care, not treasure it, not respect it, and and then you think to yourself, well then why the fuck am I killing myself? When look at me, like I'm I'm just as I'm I'm gonna get fucked over like the next person because of somebody else who's willing to do something bad, right? And so then when she's like, Oh, but you're a cop, and he's like, I don't know what that means. No, because you went in it with good intentions, you went in it with honorable intentions, and you now got to see firsthand the other side, and people who don't have those honorable intentions, of course you don't know what that means. And I think that to me, that was one of the most realistic parts of the whole episode where Stan is just like, I don't even know what anything means anymore. But he knows that Ruby loves him, and that is where he leans into. So I'm not mad at him. Like, I'm not saying that crime is okay, I'm not saying that what he did was okay, but I get it 100%. I get it. I co-sign that. Oh, okay, thank you.

SPEAKER_01

Do you want me not to co-sign it? Because you she's looking at me like you like I want to argue with her. Oh, I don't know. Maybe you are. Do you want me to? I think that turns you on. See, that was sexier than Lauren and Orion's sex talk.

SPEAKER_02

You know what? Speaking of sexy things, I have something for that too. Lauren O'Rion, like we said, that was like it was feeling very transactional. It could have been very sexy, but like you and I have more sexy conversations than than that one.

SPEAKER_01

Like, the tone of our voice change? We lean into each other. Come here.

SPEAKER_02

And I just put it out there, aside from me licking her elbow, like her and I have never done anything sexual with each other.

SPEAKER_01

Nothing at all.

SPEAKER_02

Like, no, I mean, we're we're just friends. People like licking her elbow, but like we just have that comfort level, so whatever. It just you know what? Maybe it because it also comes with comfort because you and I have known each other for a million years. We've and you are a safe space, we have each other's safe space, right? I don't I don't ever feel like I have to hide who I am or what I'm about around you, and neither one of us is gonna attack the other one in the there's no thoughts happening. Something that I should not say, you're gonna be like, what the fuck, Lisa? And I'll be like, oh my god, I'm sorry. Like, what what did I do wrong? Like, but you know what I mean?

SPEAKER_01

And also, I would tell her privately, like, if we're a group of people, I would never tell in front of a group of people. I'd be like, in front of people, hell Lisa, girl, you know you lost your fucking mind.

SPEAKER_02

The fuck were you thinking? Right, and then vice versa.

SPEAKER_01

Beth and Dean are at the park, and she asked Kim, Well, like, why didn't you tell your mom the truth? I did, I did cheat, and they have a like a whole conversation about like, yeah, I'm just having a flash.

SPEAKER_02

Okay, yeah, and then basically Dean wants to know because she wants him to bring the kids back and you know, blah, blah, blah, be a family. And he's like, Okay, but I'm worried about our safety, and is this done? And she's like, Okay, well, then I'm done. I'm done with all of it. And he's like, Okay, so I'll bring the kids home.

SPEAKER_01

She had a good it's she actually, when he said, Well, yeah, I did cheat, she said, Well, that's not why you left.

SPEAKER_02

Right.

SPEAKER_01

The cheating's not why you left. He goes, but isn't it? People do crazy things when they're cheated on. I was just like, Well, look at that.

SPEAKER_02

Yes, and oh, yeah, and you're right. And then he he he hints that he knows about her and Rio. And she's like, How'd you know?

SPEAKER_01

And he's he was like, Like, I'm not a total moron or idiot.

SPEAKER_02

Like, well and she's like, No, no, no, but every everything is over, all of it, all of it's over. So then she goes to the bar, she meets Rio at the bar, and and it's like it's so stupid, right? But it's so cute because first of all, the the bar is fucking empty. I'm like, I don't know how that bar stays in business.

SPEAKER_01

Well, it's day drinking, most bars aren't that busy in the middle of the day.

SPEAKER_02

Okay, I mean, I don't know, like I'm I'm so used to like New York, they're always busy, but um, so she's like, your tab's still open, set him up with the chardonnay, he'll have a Chardonnay. He's like, No, I won't.

SPEAKER_01

He's like, No, no.

SPEAKER_02

And like she she knows that though, you know, it's just not like she was like, Yeah, so I'm like, okay, that I mean it's cute, whatever. So they have a drink, and she's like, I got your money, and he's like, Okay, because he because he was like, She was like, Oh, you know what? One of the good things about no kids is day drinking, and he's like, Oh, that's good, and she's like, and but Dina's bringing the kids back later, and he's like, That's good, and she's like, Yeah, and I got your putty's like, even better. Like his day can't get any better, but can it? But can it? So she's like I don't have it, it's not with me. She's like, I don't have it with me. So then you see them walking into her house, and then she's that's and she's like, Oh my god, like I'm so sorry. She's cleaning up her lean cuisine. She's like, I didn't have time, you don't have time to take three seconds to slide it on into the trash. The fuck? It's paper and plastic. And then she's like, Oh, do you wanna do you want something to eat? And it's so awkward because he's just standing there, right? And it's like it's so real, right? Because it's not like he's never been at her house or in her house, right? So it's not like he's there for the first time, like looking around, like, ooh, like this is where you no, he's been there plenty of times, and he's like, Okay, I can eat, and she's like, Oh, I don't have anything. You want a sandwich? I'm not really a sandwich guy, and I feel like she goes, Good, I don't have any breath, but it was so awkward, very weird.

SPEAKER_01

It gets even more awkward, yes. Okay, so they go back to her room, they go upstairs to her room. Well, her room, I don't think her room is upstairs, I think her room is downstairs. Downstairs. I would say upstairs for lack of better term, but yes, downstairs, you're right. I like the downstairs master though, personally.

unknown

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

I like that. Okay, yeah. Um he's just leaning against the dresser and she's just standing there.

SPEAKER_02

You know what one of the perks would be is that none of your kids would be in the room beneath you.

unknown

I know.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, that's so funny. Um, and he's just standing there waiting for her to say something, do something. She's still there looking at him, and she takes her shoes off, and she has her mismatched socks. And I was like, Oh, let's be.

SPEAKER_02

She takes the bag off and puts it down, and he's just standing there. Well, first of all, when she she walks in, he walks in behind her, but he goes to like the far wall, and then she closes the door, and then she's like, Oh, habit. You didn't have to. It would have been better if you didn't say anything. Say anything, and then she takes off her bag, then she takes off her jacket, and he's just standing there watching her, then she takes off her shoes and he looks at her socks. But like, I do the same thing. I do me too. I think we all do that, like and especially if you're wearing boots, nobody's gonna see it. Right. I don't think I'm boring. Like, I don't care, but yeah. For me, as long as they're clean, I don't care. Mm-hmm. And then whatever. And then like she starts, like, she undoes a little bit of her shirt and she takes like a couple of steps towards him. Cause she's because he's like, what am I doing here? And then he takes a couple of steps towards her, and then they start like making out. And I'm like, I don't know. Like, I feel like that whole scene could have been like a whole lot like sexier.

SPEAKER_01

So I have a question for you. Did you know how their previous situation did they, did they not? Did it like what actually transpired? Here's a question: the awkwardness of this situation could it be that they actually did not go all the way in the bathroom, or is it awkward because the bathroom situation they did go all the way, but it was just so spontaneous, there was no sense, there was no time to think.

SPEAKER_02

So I was actually thinking about that.

SPEAKER_01

Like, is it lead to you believe like because if you've already slept with someone once, usually the second time, even though the situation may be different, it may not be as awkward. Who knows? Plus, she's been drinking, so you would think it'd be even less awkward because you like no inhibitions. So, did they or didn't they not the first time? But they did this time. Well, here's Here's my $5 take. Give me I'll take $10. I'll give you $10 for your take if you want.

SPEAKER_02

If they did it the first time, that was pure lust. There was no thinking involved. It was straight up libido.

SPEAKER_01

And she was mad at Dean for fucking like for putting her down. Like she had there was a lot of emotions going on.

SPEAKER_02

And let's be honest, as fucked up as it is, that like you're meeting a man in the bathroom and your husband is waiting at the table. I mean, I could see how that is a turn on. It's kind of like I guess that any moment you could get caught and it's so taboo and it's so forbidden and blah blah blah, like all of those tropes or whatever. And this time she invited him back to his house. And he and he's not stupid. I'm I'm sure he knew exactly what she was looking for. But in real fashion, he was not gonna let it be easy. He was gonna have her like work for it a little bit. This time around, it was slower, it was calculated. You know what I mean? It wasn't it wasn't just the heat of the moment. So I it's two separate things to me.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

But if they did it the last time, it's still different. And if they didn't, you know, maybe maybe he came in, maybe they made out a little, maybe they didn't, I don't know, maybe nothing else happened. Who knows? Maybe this was like the culmination. But I don't know.

SPEAKER_01

I mean, either way, it just seemed awkward. It was, but at the end, when they after they were done, and he looks kind of he looks real good in her bed. That's just my personal opinion. He looks comfortable. So she reaches to her purse and she goes to Jacob. He goes, I thought you didn't have it on you. She's like, Oh, I guess it's my mistake. I guess I was wrong. Uh huh. She goes, now she was like, okay, I have to take a shower. My kids are coming home. I have to take a shower. Um, yeah, bye. You should probably was it just me? So is it just me? Was his face a little bit like, uh, the fuck?

SPEAKER_02

I think he was surprised by like how like man ish she was. Yeah. And then and then he's like, okay, well, like, we'll we'll meet up next week, blah blah blah. And she was like, oh no, I'm done. But that that's what it was. She was like, Oh, we'll meet up last week. And she was like, Oh, also, like, Dean will be here in a little while, so and I'm gonna go take a shower, you should go. It was kind of like we're done and you're done. Goodbye. So I don't think he expected that. No, like I don't think that they were gonna have pill talk and and cuddle while they napped, but I also don't think that he expected that back quite either.

SPEAKER_01

Maybe some business talk and like you know, the plans for the next week, upcoming weeks, maybe.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, I also think that he would he thought maybe he was gonna be the one to like decide when he's leaving, yes, yeah, not being told when he's leaving.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I've told many people, okay, you can go now. Bye. So this is really the happy ending. She Stan and Ruby are in that their home and their little montage of them, the camera and them being a family, his daughter's looking pissed. Then you see Beth go around the house cleaning up like she used to. I feel like not having her kids had her discombobulated. And when she looks, if she gets to her room and she looks to her the bed.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, because she was changing like all the kids' sheets and all that, like laying out their pajamas. Their pajamas, yeah.

SPEAKER_01

To be Beth the homemaker. And not only did she wash those sheets, she wash-washed those sheets. I think she put like a half a bottle of detergent that and she put it directly with top loaders. Aren't you supposed to wait until there's some water in the before you put the detergent in and not put it directly on the clothes? I don't know. I was I always used um front loaders. But anyway, but she wash washed those sheets. Um, I'm surprised she didn't burn them. Annie has a conversation with Greggles.

SPEAKER_02

Greggles tells Annie I mean, really, you're supposed to put it in the center, like in the agitator. There's a a thing. A little cup there, right?

SPEAKER_01

Okay. Greggles tells Annie his the fact that he's like unsure about Josh. Like, I'm a douchebag. I know other douches. There's something wrong with him. He's trying to beat, he's trying to get too close too fast. And Annie meets up with Josh and tells him, Hey, I think, you know, we should slow down. I don't want to see you anymore, blah, blah, blah. It's too complicated.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, she was like, I have a kid, I don't really know anything about you.

SPEAKER_01

And he goes, Well, you know, and a sense of honesty and toward transparency. He goes, Well, I he goes, I'm actually on probation because I stole money from my last job and I lied on this application to get this job. Yeah. And let's just hope. And Annie's like, oh, in that case, and I'm just hoping Annie keeps her mouth shut.

SPEAKER_02

She doesn't like to feel the oh well. She was like, we're gonna need shots for this conversation. And you're like, oh fuck, Annie.

SPEAKER_01

Annie, don't Annie.

SPEAKER_02

We haven't seen Mary Pat in a while. Um, I have a feeling with her kids. Has she killed herself yet?

SPEAKER_01

She probably has.

SPEAKER_02

But those kids haven't killed her first.

SPEAKER_01

Those kids are a lot. What do you want to see? What are you looking for? What do you need to see for the next episode? What is it that Lisa would like to see?

SPEAKER_02

I want I want to update on Mary Pat, yeah.

SPEAKER_01

All right, I'll make sure they put that in the works for me. Okay, update on Mary Pat next episode. Get together. All right.

SPEAKER_02

I I don't know. Like, I don't, I don't really have anything, I guess. Oh, you know what we forgot? Ruby goes back to the QuickChat.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, right, right. She goes back to the payday long place. And she asks the kid, why didn't you call the cops on us? And he goes, I want your address.

SPEAKER_02

No, no, no. But first he she's like, why didn't he's like, Hi, we have this, and she's like, No, no, but why didn't you? Oh, and yes, and we can do that. And he's like, totally like, whatever she says, he's kind of like ignoring her, and she's like, I know when I'm being hustled, and he's like, Well, I want your address, and she's like, You know it. And he's like, No, for my nephew, nephew, and she's like, Um, you can get your on your degree online, and he's like, It's not for me. He was like, I have a degree, so like I I I kind of love that it's kind of like a new side of him, because here you are thinking, like, oh, this guy is such a jerk, like what a fucking dick. And then when you find out like he wants the address for the school district, and then you think, like, oh, look, like blah blah blah, and then he's like, No, I got a degree, and it's like, oh yeah, like he educated, and I feel that because I feel like so many of us have higher education, and we can't do shit with it because of the way the world is. So I I did like that part, you know, because it's like that's real. He's like, no, it's for my nephew, the little nerd needs a leg up.

SPEAKER_01

I forgot all about that part.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, and she was like, Okay. Yeah, like fine. So yeah, that I think that was that's the only thing. But um, yeah, I I don't know. I guess just to see how the story progresses. I don't really need anything, I'm not really looking forward to anything per se. I would like an update on Mary Pat. That's about it.

SPEAKER_01

Okay, I made that happen for you. Okay. That'd be fun if the next episode has Mary Pat in it.

unknown

Yeah, it wouldn't be.

SPEAKER_01

I don't know the two coming through. That is the end of this episode. Oh, is that my cue? I don't know, is it? Because I was trying to remember how it ends. I can't and I drew I kind of drew a blank.

SPEAKER_02

Okay. That will do it for this episode. In the meantime, go visit assassinsips.com for all the ways and stuff and stuff. And don't drink and drive, drink responsibly. And until next time, I'm Lisa.

SPEAKER_01

And I'm Agnes.

SPEAKER_02

And we're out of here.

SPEAKER_01

See you later. Bye.
