SPEAKER_08

Hi, and welcome to this episode of Sassin Sips. Today we're talking about Good Girls Season 2, episode 2, Slow Down Children at Play. I'm Lisa, and today I'm sipping on coffee, actually. It was a late light last night. I need my coffee. I need my coffee in my Starbucks Disney mug. What is this 45th anniversary?

SPEAKER_04

Something that's older than us. About time. I like to see things that are older than us.

SPEAKER_08

Actually, yeah, because I got this about nine years ago? When was it 45 years? So yay. And I was there for my birthday.

SPEAKER_04

Oh, you which birthday? What year?

SPEAKER_08

Well, well, it just happened to be my birthday. We were there for Thanksgiving. Uh-huh.

SPEAKER_04

It was the you were there for your birthday.

SPEAKER_08

Yeah, sure. But yes.

SPEAKER_04

Um, so wait, nine years ago. What what was that?

SPEAKER_08

It was 2016.

SPEAKER_04

35. No, 30.

SPEAKER_08

So I would have no, I would have been turning 37.

SPEAKER_04

37. I went the wrong way. Happy 37th birthday, Lisa. That was a great birthday. And I'm Agnes, and I am slip slipping. Yeah, that too. I am slipping on a little wine, peach wine, just soaked with some fermented pineapples. It's pretty damn good. Actually, it was a full um, how big is this mason jar? Two. Like a four-cup mason jar. And it's now one cup. I mean, to be fair.

SPEAKER_08

That's why you're slipping.

SPEAKER_04

I feel I've been sipping on it for like a week. So, you know, you know, like a half a cup one day, and then so. And most of that cup is actually pineapple, so it's probably half a cup.

SPEAKER_07

Sure, sure.

SPEAKER_04

And I got a backup of Stella behind me.

SPEAKER_07

Oh, that's a no-no beer.

SPEAKER_04

Well, I'm drinking my no-no beer. So, any thoughts?

SPEAKER_08

Oh, God, there were not enough shovels. There are not enough shovels in Michigan for Ruby. That's that's my hot take.

SPEAKER_01

Okay.

SPEAKER_08

Oh man.

SPEAKER_05

Not enough shovels in Michigan.

SPEAKER_08

She's gonna have to import some. Those tariffs are gonna be high, Ruby.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, but she had her moment at the end. I'm like, that's right.

SPEAKER_08

She did, but she also dug her shit deeper.

SPEAKER_05

She did. She did.

SPEAKER_08

I I I feel like it's hard to I I would have been so proud of her, especially for like having her moment, standing up for herself, if she hadn't just you know, it because like you said, and the cover-up. The cover-up is gonna get you.

SPEAKER_04

And while they're covering up their last fuck up, it's like eventually gonna have to cover up the cover-up for this. Yeah.

SPEAKER_08

Yeah. And they're just making it worse. Because now even if Stan is like on the path to forgiveness, right? Which is kind of like what we saw, he still has another punch coming.

SPEAKER_04

So how do you think? Let's just hope they can keep this one up like under wraps. So like maybe they'd get back into business and they should be able to do that.

SPEAKER_08

Not a few monitors credit. If somebody took out shit in my name, I'd be like, what? Credit-wise, credit karma, equifs, like experience? I I'm looking at all those shit. Like, who the I would know. I don't know if it stands like that, but honey.

SPEAKER_04

He's gonna you might have to edit this out, but Alex would never know if you had to do it. If you had to do it.

SPEAKER_08

So that is true. I mean, I wouldn't do it. No, you wouldn't. But it is true.

SPEAKER_04

Sorry, Alex. Just a little backtrack on last week and a beginning of this week. Rio forces Beth, Annie, and Ruby to solve the problem with Boomer by way of a fast food bag.

SPEAKER_08

Handle him.

SPEAKER_04

Handle him and then and everything, nothing that comes in a fast food bag is good for you. There's nothing good in a fast food bag. Well, I mean, it might taste good. It tastes good. But nothing in a fast food fast food bag is good actually good for Well, they do say revenge is sweet, so you know.

SPEAKER_08

Yeah, okay, yeah.

SPEAKER_03

Dish best served cold. So it's in the cold, greasy fast food bag.

SPEAKER_04

So I think it's kind of like the girls at the donut shop over arguing over the details on how they're going to um kill Boomer. Because in the bag, in case you guys couldn't tell, was a gun. In the typical good girls fashion, they're bantering over their very busy mom schedule when they're going to do this. And they'll plup their calendars and they're like, okay, should we eye calendar this? Um I'm gonna always say that now to you, Lisa. Should we eye calendar this?

SPEAKER_08

We could, but you don't have an iPhone.

SPEAKER_04

No, I don't drink the Kool-Aid, no.

SPEAKER_08

No Kool-Aid is delicious.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, okay.

SPEAKER_08

I listen, let me tell you, between my iPhone and my MacBook and my Airplay all over my house, it's fun. I mean, that's the that's the kind of technology I like.

SPEAKER_04

But Samsung, like Android, like have the same thing. It's not the like I just I just don't partake in all the different devices, but I can do all of that if I wanted to. I just don't see the need to buy 600 devices and I'm not gonna use it. So tell me something that your iPhone does that this that mine doesn't.

unknown

Probably.

SPEAKER_08

But it's user-friendly. Oh, come on with this fucking.

SPEAKER_04

I jacked you now, but all I heard was I didn't hear your your your sniper.

SPEAKER_08

I said it probably probably nothing. It probably doesn't do anything that the Samsung doesn't do. But I like my iPhone. It's very user-friendly.

SPEAKER_04

Okay, the difference between iPhone and Samsung users. iPhone, okay. Samsung, like we like our phone and the store. We keep it you iPhone users is like, uh use iPhone, you have to get an iPhone. Not you per se, but iPhone users are a little bit like yeah.

SPEAKER_08

Maybe. Yeah. And Google and and Android users always think that they're better than iPhone users.

SPEAKER_04

They're always like well, we are kind of because a lot of your things, oh my god, look what we could do now. We're meanwhile, back at the farm. We're like, we've been doing it like since like four phones ago. But okay, great for you. Probably true. So you're like, okay, um, we're gonna sit here with our Android and mind our business and drink our tea.

SPEAKER_03

We look, but we don't judge.

SPEAKER_04

Well, no. I judge. I'm a judger. I don't give a fuck. I'm not gonna. It's like that like I don't judge people for their way of life. I don't gay, straight, left, right, well, Loubian left and right. Um I judge you if one, you don't have alcohol. I judge my friends if you don't have alcohol in the house waiting for me. I judge the person that's driving in front of me that could have made that fucking yellow light but didn't. Those are the things that I judge. You know, sexual orientation and that I don't. No. And as far as um cultures and ethnicities and for to use archaic term, race, I hate everyone equally. I don't discriminate. So there you go. Alcohol, make that yellow light. Use seasoning when you cook. Those are the things I judge, the important things in life.

SPEAKER_08

How do you cook without seasoning? Well, you know, well like I get it if you can't like some people can't consume. No, there are people that just think there are people who salt and they think pepper is pushing it.

SPEAKER_04

Um mayonnaise is spicy.

SPEAKER_08

Oh my gosh, speaking of mayonnaise, did you see the fucking box of mayonnaise in her pantry? Who needs that much mayonnaise?

SPEAKER_04

We're probably you know we don't go through that much mayonnaise. I guess if all those kids you're making sandwiches.

SPEAKER_08

What kids? I'm talking about Nancy. Oh, Nancy. Oh. It was a box of mayonnaise that she was leaning up against. I was like, trying to read what the box said. And I was like, why does the box say mayonnaise? How much fucking mayonnaise do you need?

SPEAKER_04

That's probably the only box that the props can get. I guess. And in tip, like I said, in typical fashion, they're doing their little bantering and trying to figure out who they're going to find to do the job. Because that was their first go-to. And Annie, who's a genius in her own little spunky way, isn't it? Although she has no poker face. None. Not at all.

SPEAKER_08

She's she's she's okay at the comebacks, right? Like we saw that later with the tampon, but she has no poker face.

SPEAKER_04

Not at all. No, she's a really bad liar. Yeah. Which is good for your person, which means good character is a good sign for your character, I guess. Alright, I guess. So they're going back and forth with that. Beth replies, Am I the only one who doesn't want to do this? And Annie goes, he's a rapist. Beth goes, he's a person. Annie goes, who rapes? Hello.

SPEAKER_08

I don't mean to laugh, but it's it's just her candid delivery of like getting her point across. We should do this.

SPEAKER_04

Okay, you be Annie and I be Beth. Usually he's a rapist.

SPEAKER_02

Okay.

SPEAKER_04

He's a rapist. He's a person who rapes.

SPEAKER_07

Was that so painful, Lisa? It was oh my god, it hurts so much.

SPEAKER_03

Oh maybe you should go to the emergency room.

unknown

Okay.

SPEAKER_03

We will continue this episode remote on field trip.

SPEAKER_08

Yeah, from the ER. Okay.

SPEAKER_03

From the ER.

SPEAKER_08

But I have a boo-boo. Where does it hurt? In here.

SPEAKER_03

All the 50 years. It feels scrambled. Check my brain. Who hurt you? The woman on the Zoom. You point it to me. She did.

SPEAKER_08

Oh. So Annie has her own non-murderous. Wait, how would I how would I get you to the hospital? I don't have Wi-Fi in my car.

SPEAKER_04

Oh, we'll just have to well, we'll reconnect once you get there, use their public Wi-Fi.

SPEAKER_08

Okay, thank you.

SPEAKER_04

Okay, you're welcome. Annie has her own non-murderous crisis by picking up Sadie. It's about time they have a non-murderous crisis, you know. But they always have a crisis.

SPEAKER_08

No, they got a few this episode.

SPEAKER_04

Oh, a few? Nancy won't stop talking about the baby and being pregnant with Gregs. And Sadie's crazy. Pregs with Gregs. Prags with Gregs. And he's just like, I can't with this. And I kind of the whole thing was kind of just like weird and cringy, a little bit. I was uncomfortable for Annie.

SPEAKER_08

Yeah, and then it's like it's so dumb because like when Greg comes in and he's like, oh, did you get my message? And she's like, What?

SPEAKER_04

They have a whole conversation about him, about her breaking up with him and you using um Sadie giving up piano. So they have whole conversation code.

SPEAKER_08

But like it's so stupid because he's like, Oh, Sadie wants to quit piano. I don't think that's a good idea. And she's like, Well, I think that you should quit if it's not working. But it's funny because it's like a double and triple meaning. Because like, while Annie is talking about her and Greg's, her and Greggles, Greg is talking about her and Greg. But then what about Nancy and Greg? Like what about the quitting that because like some you know, you can't just quit because it gets hard, blah blah blah. And it's like, hello Greg, that's exactly what you're doing to your wife. Like, and you're not even you're too focused on Annie to just realize that you're literally doing spouting opposing points. You you are like the personification of like what not to do's box. Like the cat Greg is both alive and dead. Like it's no, Greg.

SPEAKER_05

No. Schwingdinger's cat. Stringdinger's Greg. Schrdinger. Schrdinger's um Greg. There you go.

SPEAKER_08

Skinner. Oh, Skinner is a conditioning guy. It's too early for me. Is it really? It is. But it's like you can't quit, but I want to quit my wife. Like, no, no quit.

SPEAKER_04

My pregnant wife. I know. That we went through hell and back to get there.

SPEAKER_08

Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

And of course, at this moment, this is what Nancy.

SPEAKER_08

She went through hell and back.

SPEAKER_04

No, no, that's what I mean. She went through that's what I mean.

SPEAKER_08

Yeah. Um, and of course, IVF is nothing for the man.

SPEAKER_04

And of course, at this moment of, you know, breaking up, not breaking up, piano, no piano, Nancy invites her to the baby shower. Perfect timing. That's that's like the best timing ever, honestly. If I didn't know better, and I think I do know better, pretty sure Nance at this point has an inkling already. About Annie? About Annie. She may not, I don't think it's in her head. Is that a conscious thought? It may not be conscious, but there's something like nigging in the back of her neck. You know how you you know something, you just can't put your finger on it.

SPEAKER_08

I yes. I think for sure Nancy has an inkling that something is going on. But I wouldn't necessarily have thought that she that she's knowing about Annie. However, I will say that Nancy, the Nancy character is is really good at kind of being like airheadish. But obviously we know she's smart. I mean, she's running a successful business, so she's gotta have some kind of brains, right? It can't all be a fluke. Right. So then you've got this like duality of well, this is a smart businesswoman, but look at her like, you know, kissing Greg goodbye. Okay, love you. Oh, love you too, you know.

SPEAKER_04

And then I think it's her not knowing that there's something wrong. It's just her, like, I wanna fix this. I wanna, you know. It's not her, like, I don't see it, it's not happening. She's like, I wanna nip this in the butt before he leaves me. I can see, you know, we all do that. We all like if I could love him more, he'll love me. He won't, but yeah. He won't, no, they never do.

SPEAKER_08

Mm-hmm. But yeah, so I don't know, that's a good point because um I can't I mean, you know, at the end of the episode, I guess we'll talk about it, but like it makes a little bit more sense now if I believe that Nancy was already onto them.

SPEAKER_04

And but like I said, I don't think she was onto them consciously.

SPEAKER_06

Mm-hmm.

SPEAKER_04

I think it was more like he's doing something, and I don't think he had I don't think she's conscious like he's doing it with Annie, but I think there was something in the back of her head. Like she, yeah, I I could see that happening. So um Ruby and Stan, the next thing, Ruby and Stan are having uh what's the word I'm looking for? Counseling. Uh counseling, thank you. My God, what's wrong with me? Well, don't answer that. That's a whole nother episode with their pastor. And they have to use infidelia's code of as her being a criminal. Personally, I would pick criminal over being a cheater. I would rather just tell the truth.

SPEAKER_06

I know.

SPEAKER_08

And it's yes, especially with the counter and like and yeah, and he just assumed that it it she had an affair and sticked.

SPEAKER_06

And she was like, no.

SPEAKER_08

Right. And so Stan just kind of went along with it. And Ruby is like, wait, no, okay.

SPEAKER_07

Right, because even she was like, no, no, no.

SPEAKER_04

I'd rather be a pal than be a cheater.

SPEAKER_08

Right? Like it had I don't I don't know. I don't know, but yeah. With Stan, Stan jumped right on the bandwidth. Like he was like, Well, what would you call it? Because you jumped in bed with some shady people and like so she cheated and she was like having orgies? Like, what the fuck? Right. She was really doing it up.

SPEAKER_04

In the past, it was taking it all in stride. Like, there was no like, what? It was like okay. Yeah. I guess he's like, well, they did have a like, we know with their daughter being sick, there was some problem, you know, it was very stressful.

SPEAKER_08

Yeah, but she was seeking that sexual healing, so I did you f oh I thought we froze.

SPEAKER_04

No, I had a um a typo in my notes, and I was trying to cipher. I did a voice a text, and I was like, it took me a hot second to be like, what the fuck was I supposed to be there?

SPEAKER_05

You were saying, No, that was it.

SPEAKER_04

Wow, I'm gonna tell you what the notes said real pops and on bath. I was just like, and then I was just like, okay, now I got it. You want to know what it was supposed to say? Bath real pops and on bath, but it says real pops. I was like, real pops on bath? Like what? Oh. So the whole thing was fucked up. It's like that game, if you say it fast enough, it's it's you're supposed to say this word of the phrase real fast. Of course you do because I have I have that game. You have all games. You have more games than Toys or Us does, okay? No, it doesn't.

SPEAKER_08

That's because then that's an accurate fact.

SPEAKER_04

Well, yeah. I can walk into any Target, Walmart, whoever sells games right now, and look for a game, and they're not gonna have it. What?

SPEAKER_08

That's all no stores.

SPEAKER_04

All those stores that are no no stores. I'll I should consider all stores are no no stores because you know, all corporate America. But um they're not gonna have it.

SPEAKER_08

Well, not all stores, but some some some stores are worse than others.

SPEAKER_04

Yes. If I walk into Lisa's house, bet your bottom dollar, whatever game you could think of, Lisa has it.

SPEAKER_08

Well, a lot of games. Maybe not all of them.

SPEAKER_04

Lisa. In a perfect world, you can have a if you in a perfect world, if you could have another bedroom for your games, you would still it would be perfect. You would need another bedroom just for your games and still be like, well, I need some space. Yeah, I still need storage.

SPEAKER_08

One day I'm gonna own my compound, which is gonna be the headquarters of my cult. And um we're gonna have like a game house. It's not gonna be like a game room, it's gonna be like a game house on the property.

SPEAKER_04

Right, with between the games and a pool table and darts and all the board games and all. Can you have a puzzle room?

SPEAKER_08

Yeah, absolutely. And there'll be different rooms in the house. Like, what do you want to do? Strategy, trivia, cards, video games. There'll be a you know, a bar, like a kitchen area, so there'll be snaps. And drinks, blah blah blah. But yeah, there'll be, you know, its own little spot for the games. Young karaoke, we got that too.

SPEAKER_02

I would vote for you. I mean, this listen, if you're gonna dream, dream big. I don't want any. I could run this country. I don't want to do the work.

SPEAKER_08

I could run this country better than its current uh person.

SPEAKER_04

We we have this conversation, like you would have to run the country because I don't want to do the manual labor and I don't want to do the work.

SPEAKER_08

At least, you know, uh at least can understand the problems of the 99%. Because I got them all.

SPEAKER_04

I got them all. 99 problems, but a bitch ain't one. Because you know why? Because I don't care about bitches, so that's why they're not my problem. Other than that, I got 99 problems, and a man begins with all of them. Rio pops in on Beth. Rio pops in on Beth at the kids' um swim practice. No, no, wait, no, that's the wrong one. No, she's picking up the colour. Oh, he pops in in the car with the with the the the pickup lane. Do an employee check-in. Do an employee check-in.

SPEAKER_08

Rio, um, the actor, Manny, has like the sweetest gig. Because he's like, he's probably getting full-scale pay. And he's like, it's like getting paid to be in a coma on TV. I mean, what this is like he does is not a full-time job. I know, but I'm just saying, it's just so hard. You know, you gotta be available for all of 10 minutes per week, you know. Sorry, go ahead.

SPEAKER_04

So he's just doing employee check-in on like, hey, where are we at with that um project that set you up with? Like, there's a time frame. She's like, I got it. He doesn't seem too convinced.

SPEAKER_08

No, but you know what? The brilliance is he he pops in, right? And I think that that's part of his power is the fact that it's always kind of unexpected because it keeps them on their toes. So it right there, it gives him the upper hand. Next, he gives her a directive, and when she argues, and in this case, her arguing is like, I can't kill somebody, I'm not a psychobath, a psychopath. He's like, instead of even acknowledging her complaint, her whining, he's like, it's not easy being the boss. Like he's reminding her of her place.

SPEAKER_04

Like you called yourself trying to take me out. You're not built for this.

SPEAKER_08

Right. And he he's reminding her, like, this is what you wanted, but look at you can't do it. And then she's like, okay, but you know, like I gotta pick up my son or whatever. And he's like, Oh yeah, you gotta hustle to scouts. Also saying, and I know your life. I know where to find you, I know what you have. And so I'm gonna tie it in later, and you're gonna like it. But I just wanted to point out those things.

SPEAKER_02

Okay.

SPEAKER_08

And then that's it. He makes his exit, you know, exit stage right. Like was it, snaggle puss?

SPEAKER_02

Right?

SPEAKER_05

Exit, stage left. Yeah, yeah. I love it. You have to do the voice too.

SPEAKER_08

Exit.

SPEAKER_05

She's like, no.

unknown

No.

SPEAKER_08

So I was always more of a top cat girl.

SPEAKER_04

She likes being on top, you guys. Uh you knew that was coming, Lisa.

SPEAKER_05

You can you open the door for that one.

SPEAKER_08

Oh, oh my goodness. When we were at Six Flags, my daughter tried to make a joke about because we were saying about what rides were comfortable. And I said that some rides, they're they like you get a little bit more bruised on. And then she's like, Well, yeah, I guess if you got a little bit more meat, like some of them don't bruise you. And I was like, Are you calling me fat? And she was like, Well, if it fits, and I'll so I grabbed like my you know, teacher on the side, and I was like, Wait, dad likes something to hold on to. She was like, Oh, and then she's like, she thought she had a comeback. And she turned around, she's like, Yeah, well, I guess he must get a lot. And I started laughing because she's like, wait, wait, wait, no, I didn't mean it. I was like, Oh, when the insult backfires. Oh, oh, and she was like, oh, play with me. Play with me. I'll say some shit you're not gonna like in front of your friend. Go ahead. You're 18, you can handle it.

SPEAKER_06

She was like, I didn't mean it like that.

SPEAKER_08

That's fine. That's what you got.

SPEAKER_04

But the last thing she did to herself, that's even better. Right, right. That's why it was so funny. Oh, Lord. I feel sorry for the scene. The scene kind of made me sad. Mary Pat is definitely not living the good life with Boomber. Um, the look on her face, she just looks so broken. And her son is like, I want to watch minions. Listen, dude, same. I love all the minion movies. And he goes, No, the what is he at the playoffs are on? He goes, I'm your new daddy, and you're gonna have to learn to listen to me. I needed a shower after that one. Like I felt that was yeah, it's dirty and disgusting. And creepy. And and her face just fell even further.

SPEAKER_08

Had I know, but you know what? Like, I was feeling a little sorry for her up until this point because she was like, listen to your new daddy.

SPEAKER_04

Hell fucking no. It's not it's not the fact that she said it, but you the look listen to listen to how she said it. It was like it was she was scared.

SPEAKER_08

It wasn't like I know, but but like you I don't know. It was just first of all, those are your kids and they're not his kids. So even even if whatever reason you want to be married to this man, like he needs you more than you need him. Now he doesn't realize that and she doesn't realize that, but I don't know, like your your kids are not like you you had the balls to extort the other women for money supposedly to take care of your kids, but now you can't stand up for your kids and say you're not their dad, you want to watch the playoffs, go watch it in the or this is their time, or like whatever. I don't know, like when it comes to kids You know I don't like to be a judgy person, but like your kids come first. Especially not over this man who's not their father and and using you. And go ahead. You were raising your hand.

SPEAKER_04

No, you just keep coming in and out. But didn't you say that spot in your house is not good for Wi-Fi? Like you.

SPEAKER_08

But it was f it wasn't giving me any trouble.

SPEAKER_04

It's it's showing full. Yeah, but you keep like every like you're going fine and then you stop for a few minutes. Like it's kind of I don't know what happens when you hear it. Oh, I'll hear it when I get to the edits again. Oh no, you won't. I don't know. I forgot what I'm not editing this one. My head hurts. Yeah.

SPEAKER_07

Alright. So I'm listening, but I'm trying to like piece together what you're saying. But I see, I didn't I didn't know that until you just said that.

SPEAKER_04

No, cause I thought it was gonna stop because it clears up and then it goes back. So now it's like, okay, it's not clearing up steadily. Okay.

SPEAKER_08

Alright, so if it happens again, just let me know.

SPEAKER_04

Okay.

SPEAKER_08

Alright.

SPEAKER_04

So at the agreed upon time, the girls synchronize watches, and they lure Boomer out to whack him. Very soprano style.

SPEAKER_07

Not quite, but sure. Right, you know, you know, it's like a spoof of the Sopranos.

SPEAKER_04

So he comes out there, Beth has a gun to his head, Ruby's shooting bricks, Annie's doing this, shoot him, shoot him, shoot him.

SPEAKER_08

Um Annie was right. She was like, Don't let him talk, just shoot him, don't let him talk. Right.

SPEAKER_04

And of course, Beth punks out, Annie's pissed, and the only right answer is, of course, let's bribe him. Because as we know, that always works.

SPEAKER_08

That works so well with Mary Pat. Let's do it again.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah. Um, do I think I could have shot somebody if my life was in danger? Yes. In this situation, I don't know. I don't know either. But I get Andy's frustration at the same time. Well, I understand her being frustrated. I get Beth being hesitant, and I get Ruby shooting bricks. I will be all three in one shot.

SPEAKER_08

So because it's not just them saying, okay, well, maybe we have to shoot him. It is kind of them or him. The stakes are higher. They've got Rio, they've got the FBI, and the they're getting directives from their gang leader boss to shoot this guy.

SPEAKER_04

Gangs are us.

SPEAKER_08

So if they don't shoot him, they have to deal with him. They potentially have to deal with the FBI. But if they do shoot him, then they please their gang member boss. The deposition doesn't happen. So I I don't know if I could do it either, but I feel like I wouldn't be as afraid.

SPEAKER_04

I would have punked, I'd be somewhere in between Annie and Beth on the scale.

SPEAKER_08

Yeah. Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah. I think if my life he almost raped Annie too, though. So there's uh that's that extra sense of fucking kill him. So if I think if I was Annie, I probably would have more motivation to be like, fuck this son of a bitch.

SPEAKER_08

Yeah, they should have just given Annie the gun.

SPEAKER_04

They should have. Annie gets your gun. Annie gets your gun. But I think she I don't think she would have done it though either at the end of the day.

unknown

Probably.

SPEAKER_04

Just a good person. But I get the just fucking shoot him. Yeah, don't let him definitely don't let him talk. Don't let him talk. I agree. I don't want to hear that. Um they do the bribe and they have to find, what was it, 20, another $20,000? $20,000. That's his price. That's his price. Lord have fucking mercy. Um the next scene is. I don't remember. I just have a question before I remember. I remember now. I have a huge question. I know you asked this question, I think last week. Why doesn't she call him on his bullshit about the cancer?

SPEAKER_08

I don't know. So well, I think that was the next scene because we go back to her house and then he comes in and he's like the she's selling off appliances. Right he notices the refrigerator's gone.

SPEAKER_04

Refrigerator on the phone about the damn because he's losing, he's crashing out about the stop sign. He's actually crashing out in general. Let's start off with that. He's just done. And he's like, why didn't you tell me? How did this happen? Where we got? She's like, your medical bills and the mortgage. And I was like, wait, you're questioning, he's questioning about where this, like, why aren't we paying anything? And new fake cancer. But I think she, I guess because she feels so guilty about getting him shot. I guess she said this, I guess we're even. But I still think it needs to be brought up. And she goes, and I'm gonna say, tell him for what? What are you gonna do? As you can see later on, he can't go back to work.

SPEAKER_08

I mean, he he could go back to work, but he's an idiot who can't take it easy, who wants to show what a big man he is. And it's the problem. Like, first of all, that's a problem in our whole country, is like when our bodies need time. Right. Most of us can't afford to heal, so we go back to work too soon and then cause more problems instead of taking that extra day, that extra two days to make sure that we're fully recovered. And then, right? Because then in the long run, you're you're good. You're good, you're healed, you're good, you're ready. But the rest of us who can't afford it, we go back too soon and then we fuck ourselves over even more. What are you squating about?

SPEAKER_04

I still have some of my pineapple juice in the jar, and I pour my hair into the jar. So it kind of reminded me of Blue Moon.

SPEAKER_08

Oh, oh, I thought I thought you were gonna say a bulldog.

SPEAKER_04

No, oh god, Mr. Volta. Oh, I want a bulldog so badly. Yes. Oh my god, during my MS like journey, like with the testing and all that, because there's a blockheads right around the hospital. So every time Ashley Guy will always get nachos and bulldogs. So I'll go to my test like I'm sure that worked out well. It was MRIs and like needles and shit. So the like fuck it. Like, you want me here? I'm gonna be a little drunk, okay? And this is when Ruby forges Stan's name on the payday loan. Lisa had her hot take on that already. Anything else you want to add? Uh just shovels, just more shovels. That's all she can say. Yeah. So doing the meeting of the minds, they're still 16,000 short. No shit. Like, where'd you think you're gonna get $20,000 from? And Annie goes, well, here's my contribution. And she throws in $20. And they're like, really? She's like, well, I would have sh- I would have killed him. And she goes, I have a party to go to. Yeah, I see nothing wrong with that. I am pro-annie on this one. I'm sorry. They wouldn't have we wouldn't have to find money to bribe him if we would have just shot him.

SPEAKER_02

I know.

SPEAKER_04

The next the next scene, you hear boom, boom, boom, boom, it's Jimmy at Mary Pat's door. And he goes, he goes, uh, it's boomer. What is he called? Leslie.

SPEAKER_08

Leslie.

SPEAKER_04

Mr.

SPEAKER_08

Peterson.

SPEAKER_04

And then she's like, no. And then once he said, like, well, I'm you know, Jim, I'm Jimmy Turner. Tim Tur was I'm gonna say Tim Turner from Philly Austin.

SPEAKER_08

Because he said it in one of the episodes. You thought his name was Tim, like Timmy Turner, and we were like, yeah, yeah, yeah. And then we're like, no, wait, it's Timmy.

SPEAKER_04

So Jim.

unknown

No.

SPEAKER_04

Jim is now Timmy. It's Timmy. Timmy. No, no, no.

SPEAKER_08

We're not changing names. This is not your real life. We're not changing people's names. It's a oh fine. I can't keep up.

SPEAKER_03

I can't keep up. Well, it makes you feel any better. There's no one in my life for anyone to change any names for anymore.

SPEAKER_08

Um yes, but you still refer to them, so I have to I have to like I don't think if you don't add, you see no why you need a map.

unknown

And what?

SPEAKER_08

Keep them.

SPEAKER_03

Push pin. Okay. This is say okay and then they get different colors depending on the biggest thing.

SPEAKER_08

I need like I need like a binder, like a binder full of men, and it will have like cross cross-reference by location. You know, like okay. Oh, so so and so. Ah, so and so. That's from here. This is his real name. These are his no, I'm just kidding. But but if not really.

SPEAKER_04

The funny thing is, they always come up like my past comes up in conversation a lot, but that's the problem. There's no like I'm still alone.

SPEAKER_08

No, but I'm just making fun of the fact that you never refer to people by name.

SPEAKER_04

Because they you always give them they don't deserve to be referred to by their name until they become a relationship and they never get to that point.

SPEAKER_08

Okay. Okay. My complaint is that you refer to people by geographical stuff. And so and so then, you know, on a day when I'm like, hey, so what are you doing today? And you I actually was going to give me the name of a city. Uh-huh. I'm thinking, oh, so she's hanging out with so-and-so, and she's not. I was actually going to that city. She's she's very confused because I'm like, hey, so how was your date? What date? So if you know Agnes, you know why I need a map. And like a legend at the bottom.

SPEAKER_03

Cross-reference with like names and I do just give them city names, don't I?

SPEAKER_08

Some of them get the city end thing, right? Like the Bronx Momo. Bronx.

SPEAKER_03

The Bronx Momo.

SPEAKER_08

But still, it's always fucking city. Holy shit. Um, the only person who didn't get a city is Sheldon, but then we always refer to him Sheldon from Canada.

SPEAKER_07

He got a whole fucking country. He got a whole fucking country. Oh, you know this sounds really bad.

SPEAKER_04

It's not like I date a lot. And I snow, but it's not right. It's not. But it's the funny thing, it's sad it's kind of sad if you think about it. Like, oh, she's dating, living her best life. No, no, I'm not.

SPEAKER_08

Not even people like you date. It's just people that you know that you Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

It's sad.

SPEAKER_08

I mean, you've barely even called me by my real name. It's like you have an aversion. Goldilocks. Exactly. I don't call any Goldie. Goldie. I don't know. I don't Well, what do you what do you call Angie? Angie.

SPEAKER_04

When I'm referencing her, but she's boobs and I'm nuts.

SPEAKER_08

She I got what's next? What's next? What happens next in this episode? My brain hurts. She does have nice boobs.

SPEAKER_03

She's boobs and I'm nuts. Yeah. Yeah, she does have great boobs.

SPEAKER_04

She really does. So do I. You do have a great rack. Hi. If anyone, if you don't watch our videos, please watch this one so you can look at Lisa's boob.

SPEAKER_08

Oh, this one is not gonna be Hello, I'm not even wearing pants. This one is not gonna be published.

SPEAKER_04

Well, I mean, no one can see that you're not wearing pants. Okay, so once um Jimmy, not Timmy, once Jimmy makes it clear to Mary Pat that he's FBI, she was quick to be like, oh, he's right here. Yeah. That tells you her the desperation because obviously she's afraid of something. He's gas lit her into thinking, you have to marry me or you're gonna go to jail. But when the FBI shows up, she's like, here, he's right here, take him. In her head.

SPEAKER_08

See, and I didn't take it like that. I took it more as oh. Yeah, she thought it was like maybe somebody coming for him.

SPEAKER_04

Him and L's on the FBI. Okay, okay.

SPEAKER_08

And then she was like, oh no, this is safe.

SPEAKER_04

That makes more sense. Okay. Maybe just in my head, I want him, I want her to have some sense of backbone.

SPEAKER_07

I don't think she does.

SPEAKER_04

No, but that makes a lot more sense, Lisa.

SPEAKER_07

Okay.

SPEAKER_04

This is why we keep you around. Why do you keep me around, Lisa? I don't know.

SPEAKER_08

So tell me I make sense. I exchange compliments for for like map gate.

SPEAKER_05

Okay.

SPEAKER_04

She's like, I'll take that. Um, 'cause I don't know how you put up with my shit, Lisa. I don't know how you put up a mine. We both have shit and they and we have unicorn shit. Okay, people. If we were pinky, which one of us?

SPEAKER_08

I feel like most days it's me. Um in the beginning. I feel like most days I'm pinky and the brain. And I'm just What are we gonna do today? And I'm the Narf.

SPEAKER_04

I you know the funny thing is, they always say one's a genius and one's insane. They never say which is which.

SPEAKER_08

Oh. Did you never notice that? So I'm definitely pinky. They're like, because you know they're mouseyworth, they'll overthrow the earth.

SPEAKER_01

They pink pink, they're pink pinky, they're pink in the brain, brain, brain, brain, brain, brain, brain, brain. Before each night is done, the power would be unfurled by the dawning of the sun. The sun.

SPEAKER_04

Ask me anything that's work-related or something that's important. I'm like, I forgot. I don't know. As you know, Lisa. Ask me the theme sort of pinky the brain. What's the Animaniacs? Animaniacs. Animaniacs.

SPEAKER_08

Animaniacs. That was like one of the best two cartoons ever.

SPEAKER_07

Oh my god. Life was good.

SPEAKER_08

Wait, Pinky and the Brain was part of Animaniacs. Was? Hey Siri, what where was Pinky and the Brain a part of?

SPEAKER_00

Pinky and the Brain first appeared in 1993 as a recurring segment on the animated television series.

SPEAKER_08

Animaniacs. Thank you. Okay. And then the- Because that was my first thing, and then I was like, wait. Seeing's wrong. But we're wrong.

SPEAKER_04

We're what's wrong.

SPEAKER_08

Um that was 30 years ago that that shit came out.

SPEAKER_04

So Jimmy wants to know what the fuck is going on. Let's see, like, someone's after me. Like, I can't know. He just, I just can't do this. I can't do this.

SPEAKER_08

No, yeah, he said he has IBS.

SPEAKER_04

IBS. That's what it is. Some bullshit. Okay, whatever. Bullshit.

SPEAKER_08

Jimmy's like, did they get to you? He's like, who? What? No, I'll be in a few. So it's a real thing.

SPEAKER_04

Never happened. Got to poops. Gotta go. He and I think it was kind of funny how it's they, the writers gave Leslie uh IBS as an excuse because he's so full of shit. I don't know if that was just a happy coincidence or intentional, but I like to think it was like kind of like under the yeah.

SPEAKER_08

Yeah. But he knows he's lying. I mean, it he won't even like Boomer doesn't even look at him when he he's like, no, it's it's really he's like looking off. The agent's like, yeah, okay.

SPEAKER_04

Even when Boomer's telling the truth, he's full of shit. So let's start off with that. At the baby shower, Annie is feeling so uncomfortable around these people. So she's drinking straight up liquor and giving all the guests a major side eye. And okay, side note, I'm kind of loving the evening cocktail ginger reveal party. Baby shower, ginger reveal, whatever. Like evening cocktail, I can I kind of like that. That's not something I would have done if I would have thought of it. If I wasn't 21, but still.

SPEAKER_08

I don't know. Like, I might I might want to attend that party. I don't know if I'd want to throw that party.

SPEAKER_04

I would totally attend it. Okay. Yeah. I'm loving it as a guest. Yes.

SPEAKER_08

Yeah, I mean it's it's like too highbrow for me. I'm I'm more like, let's be barefoot in the yard.

SPEAKER_04

And I'm so if I was to throw that party, you would still come?

SPEAKER_08

Of course I would come.

SPEAKER_04

Okay.

SPEAKER_08

I'm just saying.

SPEAKER_04

No, I gotta just find a reason to throw one.

SPEAKER_08

Yeah, well, just put your uterus back in and then have a baby.

SPEAKER_04

Oh fuck no. I will kill myself first. I would date an ex-boyfriend before I do that, okay? I would date what I date for. They all suck ass. But anyway. Um so she okay. She doesn't realize how rich I I I don't think it clicked until one of the guests asked her, what did you get? Oh, I got her a bottle of wine. She said, What'd you get?

SPEAKER_08

She's just such a fuck you. Such a fuck you.

SPEAKER_04

Well, actually, I had a friend, like after, like, she told me to at the hospital bring her an old job and lemon drops. I was like, bet.

SPEAKER_08

Your friend told you to bring that.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, maybe because sometimes it's like, here's your due any day now, here's some alcohol, because I know you're gonna want it. Here you already've stocked up. Like, but um, and the other girl goes, Oh, I brought her uh whatever brand stroller. She goes, Oh, that's like a thousand bucks. She'd be like, Oh no, I got her the good. She looked offended. Highly offended. And that's what it clicks for Annie. She's looking at the earrings, the watches, the shoes, the dresses, and she's like, These motherfuckers are rich, rich.

SPEAKER_08

Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

So she's she's like, okay, fine, let me use my resources, and you can't fault her. And she's going through with their bags and stuff to find what she can steal to pay off Boomer. And back to what you said before about the tampon, because Greg catches her and her horrible poker face. Um, so she tried to play it off. She's like, I'm looking for my my phone. She goes to other people's bags. He goes, Fine, you caught me. Looking for this.

SPEAKER_08

And she holds up a tampon.

SPEAKER_04

And to be fair, with the most guys, you mentioned anything about Mitchell cycles, they like, they like, they have an error code in their brain. Yeah, they kind of shut down a little.

SPEAKER_08

Right. Not my husband. He'd be like, You need me to help you find one? You know.

SPEAKER_04

He's surrounded by women, so he's such but still, just because he's surrounded by women doesn't mean that would make him a good man.

SPEAKER_08

Yeah, but periods are like openly spoken about in my house, and he he just That being said, like you okay.

SPEAKER_04

I hate to give a brownie point for some I hate to give um a person a brownie point for being a good person, but there's plenty of men who are surrounded by women, and you still do like uh uh uh don't talk about that.

SPEAKER_07

That is true. Like they don't want to don't talk about that. He's really good with he is not like that. He's a really good feminist. He really is.

SPEAKER_08

He brings he brings them home when he f Yeah look what I got for you guys. Now granted he he he he probably wouldn't know if that will last us a week or a year, but he's look what I got for you.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_04

But um again I was a what no we kind of we I lost you for a second, so I know I was talking over you.

SPEAKER_08

Oh I I was a little surprised though that with the size of that house and the way like the pantry and the the lick the wine, you know, and all that, like they have so much room for everything. It just struck me as on the bed. Like it just seems the way my party guests would do, not their party, like did they not have like a special closet for that?

SPEAKER_04

Right.

SPEAKER_08

Like it just it just struck me as like too normal, but okay. Too too normal, yeah.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah. I didn't even think about that because it was so simple. I kind of spot to see a kid laying down under these coats.

SPEAKER_08

Highbrow. Right, right, right. Yeah, because you know, you you come to like our shit and it's like, oh, just throw your coats on the bed. Just throw your shit, you know, like that's that's what everybody kind of does. But like, not when you have a house like that, you probably have an actual closet or or a coat rack or something. Right. So it's just it it was just it just struck me as kind of um out of place, that's all.

SPEAKER_04

No, I didn't even think of that. It was it was so normal, but I didn't click, I didn't it didn't click how abnormal it was in that setting.

SPEAKER_08

Right. Like she's she's crying in her pantry. Like she has a pantry to cry in, but she doesn't have a place for the coats and the um purses. But anyway, go ahead. Sorry.

SPEAKER_04

Um, so once again, he she's telling him you can't leave Nancy, and he's still he's still trying to get with Annie at his baby shower slash gender reveal party. Douchebag move. Uh, but Annie comes through in the clutch, oh, so she thinks, and she um has the girls meet her outside and she brings them the key for Tesla. And this is back when Tesla would, you know, um they were few and far between. They weren't so I mean, right now, this they're the last couple of years, like next five years, they've been doable. You know, most people can get them if they wanted them. Um this is back in the day when it was just like, oh, it's so unattainable. And Beth is like, what am I supposed to do with this? Why I'm not stealing a car? Okay, listen, Beth. You got you got the girls into this life of crime. You were so gung-ho, but Grand Theft Auto is when you cross the line now. Like she's I think she's having serious briars with Moss, and it's kind of like I'm like, now you're kinda just pissing me off now. Um, Beth goes home and um she asks Dean um like about we get her in a car for parts, and he's like, Why am I supposed to know how to do this? And he's just pissed because he's crashing out over everything, which I don't really blame him, you know, and getting shot and then everything's kind of falling apart.

SPEAKER_08

Yeah, yes and no. Yes and no, like like and then here's why I say yes and no because he's crashing out and and as someone who dealt with the blunt shock of all of a sudden limited mobility and and not being able to live your life as you did like yesterday, it's it's hard to cope with. There are very low mo like I had some very low moments, but then he's also getting a fucking taste of his own medicine and he doesn't like it. Now, granted, while his actions cause emotional pain and financial pain, Beth's actions are kind of cause causing him, yeah, the emotional pain, but also actual physical pain. So I think it's and then he almost could have died. Like, you know what I mean? Like No, no, no, right, right, right. So I and I and I get that part. And and then that's the part where I'm saying, like, yeah, it it actually caused him physical pain, and now he's also dealing with that, and it's it's horrible. So even even if he even if he came to be in this physical predicament solely for his own actions, right? Like if he crashed his car and he's the it could he would still be feeling miserable because it's actually a miserable feeling, except now he has somebody to blame it on because his words, I you know, I have a bullet and you can't stop seeing this guy. And that's that's the thing. It's also the jealousy.

SPEAKER_04

It's the jealousy about the things with this guy. But you know what? He he redeems himself. He goes, What type what kind of car is it? He's like a Tesla. He's like, Yeah, you can't do that. It's yeah, fucking walking, it's a dry, it's a fucking iPad. You can't. Because next time get the Honda.

SPEAKER_07

But he did say, but don't get the Honda. Don't get the Honda. Nobody needs to nope, nope, not the Honda. The Honday, Honda, not the Honda. Yes, yes, yes.

SPEAKER_04

Yes, yeah, definitely. No, first he tells her, like, ask so-and-so from the from dealership. He can help you. And then he asks her, Well, what kind of car it is it is it? So he's like, all right, fine. Like he had his moment.

SPEAKER_08

Like it's like a giant iPad. It's a giant iPad.

SPEAKER_04

And this is, and after this, is when Annie has her bonding moment with Nancy and the mayonnaise in the pantry crying. In the mayonnaise. And I don't understand why Nancy is trying to be, she's portrayed inadvertently. Like, we don't want to, like, people, I don't think the writers want people to like Nancy. And she's just like she's written in as the person who's just in the way. But he did not cheat on Annie with Nancy. He broke up with Annie. They broke up wherever long ago they were. He got with Annie, he got with Nancy, they married, they're having a family, and Nancy's been nothing but maybe a little bit annoying, but you know, she's welcoming your child into her like into their family. As she should, though, don't get me wrong, she should. She's done everything that she should do as a second partner to a man. There's nothing really wrong with her.

SPEAKER_08

Well, I think that I think that that that's a more of a Greg issue, right? Like, I'm just saying, like, right, as as Nancy, you don't have to you don't have to be a parent to somebody else's child, if that's not what you want to do, but then maybe that's not the guy for you. If he you know what I mean? So if you want to be with this guy and if the guy already has a child, then yes, absolutely, you need to accept this child in your life. But for me, that's a Greg issue, right? Like, if I was not if I was a new man and he's like, listen, I love you, I would go to the moon for you. If that's the only place there was to get potato chips, I would I would go there and come back with some sour cream and onion. But I don't want kids. I and I would say, you know what? You're not the man for me. If you can't accept me and my children, you are not for me. I don't expect somebody you know what I mean? I'm just saying, like as the parent, it's my job to make sure my kids so if the person that I choose is not for them, then that's the person is not for them. Okay. So being that she accepted Greg, right? Then yes, she has to accept Sadie. And she has. That's all. It was it I'm just saying, like that's a if she didn't, then that's really on Greg. That's not necessarily on her as long as she didn't mislead her intention. Okay. It's a lot to ask somebody.

SPEAKER_04

I just don't understand what it has to do with her being a good character, but kind of written in as people shouldn't have to like her.

SPEAKER_08

Well, I think that people are not supposed to like her because the first we kind of hear about her is from Annie. Oh, and Nancy and Nancy. So we already like from the m first minute of learning there is a Nancy where we're not praising her, we're tearing her down. And so then we put her in the place as Greg's new woman, and look at, you know, and then oh the hair oils and the so we're showing they're showing us things about her that we're not supposed to be flattering. And I know that this is a fake show. It's not like reality TV where it's you know necessarily the editing, but I'm just saying, like Nancy might be the nicest person in the world. Nancy might be, you know, nipping at Mother Teresa's heels. We we just don't know because we're not shown her in a positive light. We're only shown her in the annoying Greg's new wife light. Like Annie's nemesis almost, uh you know? Mm-hmm. So I try like I just try to keep that in perspective as I watch. That's all. Okay.

SPEAKER_04

Don't look at me like that. Nothing. I know because you're f nothing. I'm not judging you. I just made a comment and being no, and I just wanted your take on it, and you gave it to me after a tangent, but that's all I wanted was your take. Okay. During this bonding moment, Annie accidentally lets it slip that she's having a boy because Greg told her. Yeah, it was. Like, Greg, you told Annie, but you didn't, but you didn't mention this to Nancy?

SPEAKER_08

But that's not on you see, like, and most times I'm like, oh Annie, what the fuck? But like No, no, no, it was a Greg thing.

SPEAKER_04

I said she had to do it.

SPEAKER_07

Because who would have thought that he did it that who would have thought that he and Nancy didn't know?

SPEAKER_08

Like, Greg, you really douche his douche. I know, and from Annie's perspective, she's just looking for a bottle of tequila, and then Nancy is there crying in a pantry, so it's kind of a normal thing. Like, oh my god, did you not want a boy? Like, what why else would she be upset, right?

SPEAKER_04

Because who would have thought that you that if he told me, I'm assuming Nancy knows me being Annie?

SPEAKER_08

Like, so I wonder now, putting adding that to what you were saying about like the whole inkling about Annie, I wonder if the clues are kind of starting to, you know, it's like here they are, like sitting on a couch watching TV in like a previous episode, and then they're having like some weird fight about piano lessons, and Annie's acting a little weird, and then here she is, she knows that it's a boy, but I don't know what's inside of me, but she does. Like, so I wonder if, yeah, maybe maybe you are onto something.

SPEAKER_04

My brain works once in a blue moon, and when it does work, it's by accident. It's not intentional. It's really so Beth and Ruby are outside of a restaurant getting their uh ballet card picked up, and they have a heart-to-heart and about you know, the cheat, like forgiving your spouse and you know, getting over it. And Annie made it quite clear. Not Annie, Beth made it quite clear when Dean cheated and lied, he did it for himself. But Ruby did it for her family, so it's different. And I think that's what Ruby needs. It did. No, the intentions sometimes makes a difference on how your loved ones deal with whatever it is that they have to deal with. And then the guy pulls up, like, woo-hoo, we got a Tesla now. And the dude's like, but wait, no, this is not your car. He's like, it is now. He goes, he's like, I'm gonna get, I'm busy. They're like, no, it's the Honda. He goes, he goes to tell and ask them, what about a Honda, a cord or civic? I'm a chord. And they're like, a cord or like some more. And they're like, black or silver? Black, like, it's just I'm just like, I wish it was that easy. Because if that was a case, I could have had any of the call I wanted. Um I know. I will go with you though. I'll have to go, I will have to go with you. Because you will look like you, yeah. Okay. Right, right, right.

SPEAKER_08

Yeah, I I know it's it's like some I tell you, it's like some kind of privilege, you know? You just get away with shit. Wow. Is it really? Yeah. Must be the blonde hair and the blue eyes. Must be. Certainly not the white skin. You know, white privilege doesn't exist because white people have struggles too. You know, read read that in like lowercase and all in caps, you know. Right, like the crazy SpongeBob face. Yeah. Yeah, because you know, it can't be real because white people struggle too. Imagine.

SPEAKER_04

No. You know what? Can't happen. It's definitely not real.

SPEAKER_07

Definitely.

SPEAKER_04

Um, after this beautiful Heart to Heart, and they got their Honda, I assume.

SPEAKER_08

They give I want a Honda. Black Honda Accord. I wonder what year it was.

SPEAKER_04

It looked like it was a new one for that year, so I'm guessing. Uh what year did it open?

SPEAKER_05

Did it open the book?

SPEAKER_08

The show, I think it was like 2016 or 2017, something like that. Right now. Still still way newer than mine.

SPEAKER_04

Um so they meet up and they give Boomer whatever they have. He goes, This is not all of my money. He goes, Well, just take it and leave, and we'll send you the rest.

SPEAKER_03

And they're going back and forth between PayPal and Venmo, and then we'll mail it to you.

SPEAKER_04

They're like, then you have my address. He goes, Finally, they said home the post office back, uh, P.O. box.

SPEAKER_08

Which wasn't the worst idea to me.

SPEAKER_04

No, it wasn't. Yeah, I still would have shot him, though. Ruby comes home, and Stan is still standing, and she goes, We're getting our shit back together. Like, we we need to get this shit together and come like just a come to Jesus moment with him. And this is where she has the best line in the series thus far. I saved her life. It wasn't God or the church or any of those thoughts and prayers. It was me. You don't know who I am? Well, let me introduce myself. I'm the crazy ass bitch who robbed the gracie store and saved her child and protect her family, your child and your family. I'm that bitch. Nice to meet you and you're welcome. I was like, yay, yay. I mean, I think this was a little ruined for you, because you know that she did the whole forgery thing. Like, mom was kind of ruined because I know he's gonna come, it's gonna come back and bite you in the ass. But you know. Yeah. It was the yeah, it was what was it was needed to be said. And don't be wrong, she needed to be sorry for putting them in that position. And she was, but this also needed to be said, also. You need a little sugar with your medicine.

SPEAKER_08

You need a like wrong. No. It's just hard to be like, yeah, when you're still kind of bringing him into your shit and like not bringing him in on it.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah. She did look sorry for it though.

SPEAKER_08

Yeah. I mean, I'm I know she she's doing it but because she feels like she has no other choice. I understand that. But even with understanding her motivations, it's still hard. It's still hard to justify because like I said, y it it's not just you that it's affecting. You're affecting your husband and by extension, the rest of your family. So, you know, yeah.

SPEAKER_04

Boomer now has this the only time Boomer's palatable is when he's with Granny. So he goes to say goodbye to his grandmother. And it's kind of funny. And he's giving her a new phone so he can so she can call him. And she says so-and-so's kids bought her this phone too. I just think they wanted to say they don't have to talk to her, you know, they don't have to deal with her anymore. So did she know how to use it? She said, Yeah, then she died a week later. And I was like, Oh my god. And this is when Rio meets Beth at her son's swim practice, and she gives him this whole story about how she did it, and she violated rule number one when telling a lie. She gave too much information. It was kind of annoying, and she was a little bit too sassy and cocky with it. And he looks into the bag and he sees a full mag.

SPEAKER_06

Mm-hmm.

SPEAKER_04

And he's like, I mean, to even before to be fair, before that point, I think he saw the bullshit though. Um, but look at in the bag, he just he confirmed it. He confirmed it, right. He's like, yeah. He's pretty much like you have to use a bull to shoot somebody though. But okay. That's nice. I love that for you. You know what I mean?

SPEAKER_08

Yeah, you know what? Um I'm not gonna I'm gonna hold it because there's this still one more part of this. Yes. Yes. Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

Uh-huh. My favorite part. Hey, I got my panties wet. Dean goes back to work way too fast, almost kills himself.

SPEAKER_08

Mind you, he can't even walk to the basement at home. He can't put on some line shoes, but he wants to go and be like, ooh, dancing on the sales floor.

SPEAKER_04

Like, and the thing is, though, he didn't even need to do that because as a sales manager and owner, he would have got a percentage of that sale regardless of who sold it. All you gotta do is press somebody to fucking sell the shit. He could have signed his office and still got the commission off of it, and then the percentage as being the owner. But that's that.

SPEAKER_08

Of course. He didn't have to be a good one. But he wanted to go and be big man.

SPEAKER_04

It wasn't like he's a salesperson who had to sell the car to get the money. No. Stepped your ass and did it.

SPEAKER_08

Right. So even if you wouldn't have gone back to work, you could have gone and sat in your office, still been there, but like find that middle ground because you're not fucking Superman.

SPEAKER_04

But I think this is an exaggeration on what we all do. We always overdo and try to make sure, like, okay, I have to do this because we I think of some level we have to play the moder. We all expect the.

SPEAKER_08

But also because, you know, let's let's be honest, right? It's been like brainwashed into us from this country. You know, pull yourself up by the bootstraps, no brain handouts, no.

SPEAKER_04

The whole point of that saying is that it's impossible. You can't pull yourself so they're using it erroneously, like you're the dumbass. But anyway.

SPEAKER_08

Right. Because no mat no matter how much hard work you have, like it doesn't always work out the way you know we're told it's gonna work out. And also, like when we're sick, we we should not be doing this to ourselves.

SPEAKER_02

But okay.

SPEAKER_04

Um at the at the Lisa, Annie sees Mary Pat um eating cake. And she asks, like, what's going on? Like, what's that's the store over there? And he's like, Oh, she's doing her um wedding cake tasting. Wedding, yeah. And she's gosh, she looks so forlorn. I feel so bad for her. So Annie goes over there, talks to her. She's like, you know, try to make her feel better. Like, he's not gonna be a problem anymore, and it's gonna be okay. And there's not gonna be a wedding. And she's like, what are you talking about? He just told me he put the money on the venue like an hour ago. Oh my god, Boomer lied? Holy shit, Lisa. Never would have thought that.

SPEAKER_08

I know, but I have I have another issue with this.

SPEAKER_04

Okay.

SPEAKER_08

Because Mary Pat's sitting at the fine and frugal taste testing fine and frugal wedding cakes. Annie is at the fine and frugal working, and then we see Boomer in like the meat department egging on the guy to beat him up. Right. How did Annie not realize that Boomer was in the store?

SPEAKER_04

Unless he came through the back.

SPEAKER_08

There's been times when I was like, I mean, but but he's there like yeah, but he's I mean, he's there dressed for work.

SPEAKER_04

So it's not like he's but he act that scene was afterwards. We don't know when I may it might have happened after Annie's scene. We don't know. After Annie's shift. We just didn't know that's the next scene.

unknown

Okay.

SPEAKER_04

It doesn't say when. Um and plus he might not have been in the store at the time this conversation happened. Okay, all right. Okay, I'll let you have it. Okay. And as Lisa said, douchebag has a as he's antagonizing the butcher, it's pissing me off for the butcher. Like he's reliv he's just retelling the asshole things he did. And like I really shouldn't be surprised, but how can no one have shut killed this son of a bitch before now? Like, I don't understand how he still He was definitely that child that was bullied for being an asshole. Bullying is no good, don't get me wrong. But you know how there's some people that push and poke, and you just need to they need to be punched the fuck out. He's the he's the type to like take the bear and poke the bear with a stick and then cry, oh my god, the bear tore my face off. Well, no fucking shit. Yeah. Yeah. So Boomer gets his ass beat by the butcher, and he's I don't understand how that butcher didn't kill him. Because he looks the butcher looked like he could kill him with one swipe. But that's just my opinion.

SPEAKER_07

Oh my god, yeah.

SPEAKER_04

I'm assuming Annie now has told had told them all. So she gets in the car and she's like, I'm gonna get a gun. We're gonna get a gun. Take me to give me the gun. I gave it back. What do you mean he gave the gun back? She's like, we're going to Walmart. How you stand? Like she's just like, she is livid. And and Beth is just like, yeah, so this happened. Okay. Like, you didn't know this was gonna happen. This is Boomer. And then your last bribery didn't end up. He just doesn't die. Like he just No.

SPEAKER_08

It just keeps coming back.

SPEAKER_04

And at first, your first sense of bribery didn't work out so well. What makes you think the second time it's gonna work? And then work with Boomer. But anyway, so all the stress, all the drama, all the fear and anger has Beth crashing, and she goes and beats the fuck out of the stop sign that has an actual sign on it because you know she's gonna long-term borrow that bitch. But she just had beats the shit out of it.

SPEAKER_08

Well, at that point, like they're in the car driving, and she sees a stop sign, like just pulls the car over, and Annie and Ruby are like, What is happening? What what is going on? Does anybody know what's happening? And they're just watching her beat the fuck out of a stop sign, and they're just like, I don't know. Okay, all right, like Okay, that makes sense.

SPEAKER_07

I mean, okay, if it was one of us, I'm like, oh, okay, that's helpful or do you want to handle this on your own?

SPEAKER_04

You got good? Okay, I'm gonna look out. And what took you so long? Like, like sometimes my question with my group of friends is what took you or me or whoever so long before you crashed out? Like, how do you keep them together as long as you did? But now that you've crashed out, Nancy is ding dong at Annie's door, and they have a real moment, and they're chit-chatting, and Nancy's being vulnerable, and Annie's being helpful, and they're just having a good moment. They're having a good time, honestly.

SPEAKER_06

They're having little girl talk.

SPEAKER_04

Like, if you didn't know anybody, you would think that they were friends. And there was really, honestly, once again, back to my other thing, there obviously they got together years after they broke up. There's really no reason for them not to have been cordial to begin with. Like Annie kind of took it to like I think Annie was just snarky from the beginning. Because, you know, I mean, if it was like this, you know, it could have been cordial at the beginning and grown into a friendship over the years, in my opinion. But then you guess who knocks the door? Because Nancy actually tells Annie, I think he's cheating, I think there's someone else.

SPEAKER_08

She says he said there's someone else. Remember, she's like, yeah, he told her he said there's someone else, and that's why she she didn't like she didn't know where to go, so she came there. That's right, right, right. I think Annie was like, Oh, did you talk to him? And she says, Yeah, he said there's someone else.

SPEAKER_04

I would have remembered that if I wrote my notes coherently.

SPEAKER_07

And then side note, Lisa?

SPEAKER_04

I don't know how you do it because I don't have time to watch the shows more than once. And watching the shows and leaving the notes is hard. I don't know how you did it with fucking loss of all shows.

SPEAKER_08

I mean, I took help from the internet, but then what I would what I would do is I would watch the episode. I mean, granted, I've I've seen it, right? But like watch the episode the first time, just watch it, just enjoy it, just kind of feel it. And then the second time, before I watch it the second time, I would read like notes. And then watch to see like if there's anything that I I should pay attention to to miss or whatever, and then what when I watch it the second time, kind of go through it like, okay, we don't, you know, I need this, I need this, I you know, and then just I say I don't want to watch these shows twice.

SPEAKER_04

That's just that I don't want to watch it twice. I don't. And a lot of times I don't want to watch T. I don't want to watch the TVs on my in my house sometimes don't go on for days at a time. So sometimes I don't want to watch it once. So you get a gold medal, and if I was Oprah, I would give you a car. So a trophy in a car and brownie points for doing that. But that's my issue. And then asshole knocks the door.

SPEAKER_08

Well, no, and then because they're talk they're talking about who it is, and they're like, oh, it's probably one of those pharma bitches. They love doctors, and she's like, Oh, but he's not a doctor. She's like, Yeah, but you know, he's he what is it? He sells like boner medication or something. And then Annie didn't know what he did. I yeah, something I I don't remember exactly, but it's like they're laughing ish over not laughing, but you know, they're yeah, they're um having a moment, they're bonding over like, you know, who the bitch is and whatever and whatever, and then you know, all is fine until they knock on the door.

SPEAKER_04

Dumbass. I hate him.

SPEAKER_08

I mean Yeah, so it's a knock on the door, Annie opens it, and it's Greg with a bottle. And it's like, oh I didn't have oh. And then it kind of ends there.

SPEAKER_04

So it's like, is Annie gonna And Nancy's face was just like all like what the fuck? And shock and hurt and all the feelings were on this woman's face.

SPEAKER_08

So I wonder if Annie's gonna somehow play it off or I mean I guess I guess it could be played off. It could be will it be?

SPEAKER_04

It could be, and I think it will be. I don't know. Yeah. So it looks like um Ruby's little monologue got through the stand because you can see how they're starting to be like Spanish.

SPEAKER_08

I love this. I love this because Ruby's laying in bed and she's watching Below Deck. She's watching Below Deck Men. I thought about you, by the way. Actually, was it yes? Yeah, yeah, yeah. Because they were talking about Joao. Joao And then they talk about Conrad. I'm like, wait, remember Conrad. But and so they're like, Yeah, Captain Sandy. And so in the room house, he's treated with it. He's like, I got I got one thing I need to know, or something like that. And she's like, Well, and then he's talking about this show, and he climbs into bed and he holds her hand, and I was like, I love that so much. Like he just holds her hand, and it's it's it's just like a really nice moment, and I just I'm watching it and I'm like, oh, I love this for you guys, but there's still a shoe in the air. It's gonna, it's gonna come down and hit him on the head like yesterday when the AirPod case hit my nephew in the head. We were waiting on a line and somebody some somebody must have gone on the ride with AirPods, and the case flew off of the ride and hit the- Is he okay? He's fine. Well that's it's okay because first first it hit the lady, like who worked there, and then it bounced off of her and hit him.

SPEAKER_04

Because of that, the velocity could hit, like, okay. We all know the penny off the Empire State building.

SPEAKER_08

So anything coming from a distance is always like the the lady grabbed and she's like to the people on the left, she's like, and this is why we tell you, don't bring stuff on the ride.

SPEAKER_04

But people don't care. People don't care. I mean, that's not that you leave in the fucking car.

SPEAKER_08

Or you leave like I know who need like e it's funny because even like before that, my daughter had her airpod. I was like, do you need to take a call? Why are you why and you brought your friends? Why do you have airpods? Like, why why are you not like just here with the people you're here with? Why do you need AirPods? Like, I six flags, and all I have is like I have my past and I have it on um like a lanyard my cash in it and my phone. Like with my I and my ID and stuff is is on my phone, like in the on the the thing. That's it. Yeah, that's it. My key and my keys are attached to my lanyard, so everything goes like you know, in my shirt, so that it's you know, what I yeah. Because I don't want to carry anything, I don't want to lose anything, I don't want to bring anything more than I need to bring. If I didn't need my keys, I wouldn't bring them. If I hadn't even a phone, I wouldn't bring it. If I didn't need ID, I wouldn't bring it. But I need those things. Like, and my mom was there. So we gave like her the stuff to hold when you know, like when we could. So I don't understand like people's obsession with having their AirPods in their ears. And I have AirPods, but like uh everybody who knows me knows like I can't find them half of the time because I barely use them because like I like if I'm with people, I'm with people. I don't There's no need to be with yeah in six right, like I sorry, I can't take this call right now. I'm at the top of Nitro, we're about to go down the hill. Like, what the fuck?

SPEAKER_06

Why are you expecting a call from everyone you know is with you?

SPEAKER_08

I'm listening to music. It's that it's not that serious.

SPEAKER_04

But there's people with you. Why can't you just talk to the people that are with you?

SPEAKER_08

I think they must get that from your father, because he's another one always with the fucking thing in his ear. So my my two older girls and him always with the thing in the ear.

SPEAKER_04

Anyway. The best scene of the episode next to Ruby. Beth, late at night, she can't sleep, whatever the case may be, because she knows she thinks she's gonna die and Ruyo's gonna kill her for like killing. I just I just feel like everything is falling apart for her at this moment. You know.

SPEAKER_08

I I mean, I get that part because, you know, there's plenty of nights that like I can't sleep because I'm like, okay, you know, the whole world feels like it's on your shoulders. And I understand that my I mean, my troubles are not the same as her. I don't have like, you know, gang members threatening to kill me. I don't have them handing me guns and telling me, okay, you gotta take this person out, you gotta handle it. But I do have problems, you know, that keep me awake at night that I feel like I don't have a solution for, I don't have support for, I don't have a handle on. So I get that. And so she does what many people would do is fix a problem you can fix. Yeah. Because it's it's something, right? You gotta do something. You can't do everything, but you can do something.

SPEAKER_04

And this just happens to be replacing the stop sign with the one that she beat up earlier in the evening. Right. Right and she turns around, who's standing there out of nowhere like a shadow, but real sexy ass. And she's like, Are you gonna kill me?

SPEAKER_08

And she's breaking down and she's just but she starts walking towards him because he's he's in a like leaning up against his car, kind of down the block, but she sees him watching. And so like she just starts walking towards him and he doesn't like move. Like he just I mean it it like it is attractive, right? There's just that like n he's making her aware I am here, I'm watching, and you're coming to me.

SPEAKER_04

But go ahead. I just Yes, sir. I'm I kinda wanna come to him right now, personally. I I mean, I mean, I just want to throw it out there. I'm willing to crawl to him.

SPEAKER_07

Um I don't know if his his wife would like that, but yeah.

SPEAKER_04

I know. Fine.

SPEAKER_08

And of course, um Oh, and he wears glasses in real life. You know how I feel about a guy with glasses. Really?

SPEAKER_04

I did not know that.

SPEAKER_08

You didn't know that? Oh, I don't know. It's like a quirk.

unknown

Yeah.

SPEAKER_08

Like glasses.

SPEAKER_02

Interesting. I'm with glasses.

SPEAKER_08

Like when Alex goes when Alex, when Alex gets his glasses, he always like makes sure I like them. He's like, I gotta wear them, but she gotta look at them. Oh like uh he's like, you know, my wife gotta approve. I mean, I don't, but like, I like that.

SPEAKER_04

He knows that's your quirk. He knows that's your thing.

SPEAKER_08

He does, he does. I like when he wears his glasses. Sometimes I make him leave them on.

SPEAKER_02

That's sweet.

SPEAKER_04

Oh, I'm gonna be nauseous now. Um, at the end of her like plea for her life, he says probably the sexy thing I've ever heard him say.

unknown

Right?

SPEAKER_06

Because she likes to be like, he does the finger.

SPEAKER_04

He looks, he does the finger like on her forehead. Yeah, like to her hair.

SPEAKER_03

Like the little sweep. And this, oh god.

SPEAKER_08

Oh because she's like, I can't keep doing this, like I'm tired, like are you know, blah blah blah. Like she she basically breaks down and kind of spills out all her problems to him.

SPEAKER_02

And he says, I'll teach you. I was like, um, is interesting. He's like, I'm gonna teach you.

SPEAKER_04

Can you imagine to think you're gonna get fired and you end up getting a promotion?

SPEAKER_08

That's exactly that's kind of what happened. But this is I feel like this is exactly what he wanted. He wanted to break her down. He knew exactly what he was doing, and I realized that there's two things, right? Number one, I was like, he is the Sawyer of this show, and here's why he's so fucking smart, but it's kind of overlooked because it's got like that criminal element when he's hot, but then he also it's it's it's that equality shit, like it doesn't matter man or woman, he treats who he deals with appropriately, so as a situation everyone gets yeah, right, and so from my female perspective, that's a fucking turn on because you're not treating me such because I'm a woman, you're treating me because of who I am, I am, or what I want to do. But then, you know, so it's a it's a turn on, so it it helps with that, you know, sexy factor. But then I realized it needs any help with that, but yeah, well I know, I know, but then I realized that also like he kind of treats her the way we as moms treat our kids because this is exactly what he did, right? He let her, he told her what to do, and as usual, fucking listen, right? So he he let her fail and then reminded her that he is in fact in charge. He knew she was gonna fail, but then kind of was like every step of the way, I see you, I'm gonna let you do it. I'm gonna okay. I know you're gonna fail, but that's okay. And then when you fail, you'll be ready to listen to me. Ah and I'm like, yeah, that's kind of what we do.

SPEAKER_04

Kind of, yeah.

SPEAKER_08

So moms are the real of their household.

SPEAKER_04

And we would take and we said all the time, I brought you and I would take you out. So that is true. The thing is though, some of us mean that. Like, um, okay. Yeah, I'm gonna die now. I'm still afraid of my mother.

SPEAKER_07

Um, any thoughts on this episode?

SPEAKER_04

Everyone's afraid of my mother. Nope. We saw, as Lisa said, shovels upon shovels upon shovels that needed to be used in the state of Michigan.

SPEAKER_08

Yeah, everyone needs to send send Ruby some shovels.

SPEAKER_04

We saw um a promotion or internship. The starting of internship. What else did we see?

SPEAKER_08

We saw um but the prop, but the problem is like also, I have to say, also, is that while we're watching it and it's kind of sexy, it's also kind of gaslighting. Because she knew she was gonna fail, right? And he broke her down just that when he takes that burden off of her, it's like she feels relieved. And I know because like I know what it feels like when somebody helps you with that, like offers you a light at the end of the tunnel. But you become you uh indebted to them. So you're now you're like whatever you need, now they got you. So it's it's tough because you know, when you help me out of a situation like that, yes, I feel that and all that, but I know you're never gonna like take advantage of me. I know you're never gonna you do it because I can't get you I can't give you to give it up to me now. I mean, that's besides the point. But like you know what I'm saying. Uh-huh. You know, like yeah. So it's just, you know, be careful who eases your burden because not everybody is in it for your benefit.

SPEAKER_04

Put the burden on there to begin with. Right. Right. I mean, actually, they did it to themselves, but that's besides the point. But and if the purpose of this analogy, yes. Yeah. They picked the wrong store to rob.

unknown

Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

To be fair, they could have been out of it, and the show would have been over like six episodes in, but she dropped it back in. It's like The Godfather 3. Just when I thought I was out, they pulled me back in.

SPEAKER_08

Also, who saw that?

SPEAKER_04

I know you have it. You've never seen any Godfather movies.

SPEAKER_08

Well, I started the first one.

SPEAKER_04

Like, what, one hour of like 24?

SPEAKER_08

Yeah.

unknown

Yeah.

SPEAKER_08

12 hours. Just about. I don't even know if I made it an hour in. Oh shit.

That's how Is that the name of the episode? It is. Okay. The way I said it was kind of kind of cool, right? I was trying to be like, you know, I don't I was trying to be cute with it, but it failed.

SPEAKER_02

Epic failed.

SPEAKER_04

So what do you want to see for the next episode? No, I have absolutely nothing. I don't know. I have no idea. Okay. That sounds like a plan. I have nothing to say, and you have no idea. Usually it's vice versa. Usually I have no idea.

SPEAKER_08
