SPEAKER_04

Hello there and welcome to Assassin's Sips. I have I'm Lisa and I have nebulizer brain. Today we're talking about good girls, season two, episode six. Take off your pants. I'm Lisa and I'm sipping on coffee because I'm asthmatic. It's been a rough week, and I need the caffeine. Because the adrenaline and you know all that. If if you're asthmatic, you already know about coffee, the caffeine part. So yeah, that's okay. Sorry if I'm struggling through the episode and you hear me breathe.

SPEAKER_02

Breathing is so overrated.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, well, especially when you can't. I mean when you can. Who am I? And what is life?

SPEAKER_02

Sorry. I have not figured that out yet. Maybe I'll figure it out by time and by time I'm in Shady Pines.

SPEAKER_04

I'll be right there with you.

SPEAKER_02

And we'll both be like, oh, oh, I get it.

SPEAKER_04

Which one of us is bringing the hot plate though?

SPEAKER_02

Um, who am I? Oh yes, I'm Agnes, and I too am just sipping on coffee because, well, yeah.

SPEAKER_04

I have a question. I have an answer. Do you consider Agnes? Asthma is not considered a chronic illness, right?

SPEAKER_02

I don't know, is it?

SPEAKER_04

I don't know. I mean, I could have Googled. In my head asking someone who's not asthmatic.

SPEAKER_02

Right. The asthma the asthmatic is asking the non-asthmatic. I think I would.

SPEAKER_04

I don't know. I never considered it like a chronic illness. Because I always feel like when you hear chronic illness, you think of things like lupus, MS.

SPEAKER_02

Um Yes, is asthma is considered a chronic illness.

SPEAKER_04

Because it's more so where do I get a disability placard? Can I get a check? Man, I've been disabled since sixth grade.

SPEAKER_02

I would financially get that. You can get a disability placard. Don't don't don't go on disability because you know fractions of what you're making now. But you can no, you can talk to your doctor and get a placard.

SPEAKER_04

I mean, I st I still have my temp one because of my ankle. Walking walking is still not easy sometimes. Most you can't get a permanent one. Yeah, I never thought about that. But let me tell you, there's some days, like especially in the winter, where it's like, ugh.

SPEAKER_02

So yeah.

SPEAKER_04

And and now this time of the year it's worse.

SPEAKER_02

I don't know why I didn't tell you to get one before.

SPEAKER_04

I never I I never just like I I don't know, I guess since I've always had it since like a kid, I never really like I've always just lived my life with it. It's never been something I guess I thought of until I get a setback and then I'm like, oh, I'm struggling. And this time of the year is the worst for people with asthma. And it's not the spring. The pollen, the flowers, we can handle that. It's now. When everything is out there dying, it kills us too. Oh shit, Lisa. Anyway.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, maybe. She's not going to.

SPEAKER_04

Probably not. I mean, don't get me wrong, I like having nice parking, but I don't know, I just feel awkward. Because I don't I just don't think of myself as disabled or b you know like I don't know, I guess I guess I have to start thinking of myself in different ways. Like I don't know, whatever. If everybody with asthma gets a handicapped placard, there won't be nearly enough spots. Everybody has asthma. We live in this country, we live a very unhealthy life.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, I don't know how people with breathing issues live.

SPEAKER_04

Like, I'm surprised that more people don't have asthma, to be honest. Especially in New York City.

SPEAKER_02

Or able to even live. Those who are asthmatic, able to survive as long as they like how do you do it?

SPEAKER_04

Oh, but I can't wait for all those new tariffs on pharmaceuticals to, you know, do they cover albuterol? Because can't wait till breathing is even more difficult. Like, oh sorry, 300% tariff on your albuterol, I guess you'll just have to die. We'll see. That'll be fun. That'll be great. I'm stocking up already. Anyway, good girls.

SPEAKER_02

So this is good girls season two, episode six. Take off your pants. Okay. Okay, I don't have pants on, so this I started early.

SPEAKER_04

I actually just put pants on because I have to go somewhere after this.

SPEAKER_02

And I don't, so this episode starts off with Dean losing his shit. Try to take care of the kids. I have a little bit of a hot take. A little bit. I was expecting at least several.

SPEAKER_04

I'll say this, right? In the last episode, we saw Beth being dismissed by Dean because he was like, I'll stick to making the sandwiches and I'll stick to the business. But once she was like, you know what? No. This is what you're gonna do and this is what I'm gonna do. I'll give him credit because he did. We walk into a scene. You're you froze. Say that again. What'd you say?

SPEAKER_02

Oh I said she didn't give him a choice, but yeah.

SPEAKER_04

Well, he he could have pushed back. He could have fought her on it. He could have been like, absolutely not, I'm not stepping down, I'm not staying like they could have fought about it.

SPEAKER_02

But he could have pushed out because he's but he also saw where she was coming from, and he's like, Yeah, this ain't gonna happen.

SPEAKER_04

Right. So I'm just saying, like, so I'll g I'll give him at least that much credit, right? And then listen, he is failing at every turn the hair, the breakfast, the lunch, the cleanup, the everything. But I know, I know, but I will say this, right? Beth is excellent at that stuff, right? She's been doing it since they've gotten married. Since it was her and him, then one kid, then two kids, then three kids, then four kid. Dean has just been taken out of his element that he knows and thrown into a household with four kids.

SPEAKER_02

Okay, so something to say a little bit about girl power and the the magic that of Beth is being a woman. So you said, you know, he's just he was thrown to something he's never done. Like I said, big up to women power. So has Beth for the most part.

SPEAKER_04

Yes, yes. I'm just I'm not saying that's a good thing. But you're talking about a guy who can't even figure out how to make French toast. And it's kind of like it's kind of like getting a new job as something that you've never done before, and you're not starting entry levels. All of a sudden you're the CEO and you're in charge of all these people who are also like brand new. You don't know what to do. Now, she comes in that night and she's kind of pissed off, and I get it. But I would have been like, and he's like, I'm trying here, uh, you know, and she's like, it's not that complicated. It's not that complicated for you because you've had practice, you're, you know, expert level and he's amateur. But look, by the next day, he got it. So I just feel like you you gotta you gotta give him a little bit like of grace, period. Because he's trying.

SPEAKER_02

He is trying. I think what pissed her off at that moment, uh well, yeah, she came into a fucking mess.

SPEAKER_04

Yes, nobody likes that. I get it.

SPEAKER_02

And considering what she came home from. So we'll get to we'll get to that. But I think it was the excuses that set her off. And he's like, I couldn't clean up because I had to take care of the kids. Well, yeah, I think I don't really think it was the fact that he couldn't do it. It was more like, I can't do it. Like it was more of the, well, I could have, he gave the impression, like, I could have done this if it wasn't for this, and I could have done that if it wasn't for this. We had to do it all.

SPEAKER_04

I mean, it's not like she came home and he's like sitting there watching a football game and like having a beer. You know, it like he was still up and about. So I'm just saying, like, it was his first day. Like he he he hadn't given up. He was struggling. So I just thought it was a little unfair for her to be that pissed off.

SPEAKER_02

So we're skipping ahead a little bit. I think um the reason she's pissed will come a little bit later. And I think she's really pissed person. She was pissed, but not really at him personally.

SPEAKER_04

Okay. That's I didn't consider that, but okay.

SPEAKER_02

Okay. Um, so yeah, he when he said we don't have any milk, we're gonna eat it dry. It's just as delicious, not it's just as delicious, just not wet crunchy. Not as wet. Something like that. And when she walks in, her commercial is playing, and she does the whole she does the whole like husband leaving the house saying bye to the kids. Look, mommy's on TV. Right. And she walks into the the dealership and she's just her badass vibe.

SPEAKER_04

Good morning, Mrs. Boland. Good morning, Mrs. Boland.

SPEAKER_02

And in case you're asking, no, we don't call our coworkers by their last names. I don't call it.

SPEAKER_04

I well, I wasn't, but like I feel like that's such like a madmen thing.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. Her walk was really mad men, right. Right, right, right. So and then it's quickly defate deflated when she sees Rio.

SPEAKER_04

Right. He's like, good morning, Mrs. Boland.

SPEAKER_02

She went from I'm on top of the world to sinking in the Titanic, sinking off, falling off the door, the bore of the door, you know, in the Titanic. And he's made it quite clear that there is no, there's no arguments. I have some cards being delivered, and you're gonna deliver them to me. You don't need to know what what's in there. End of story. And it went she went from it was quickly deflated.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

And it just ruined her whole fucking mood and her whole, not only the day, but how she I think how she felt about herself. And when she went to the car, she looked at that car when she was signing for them. Uh-huh. Like she was expecting like a dead body to pop out of them.

SPEAKER_04

I know.

SPEAKER_02

I mean Rio, it could have been. It really could have been. It could have been anything.

SPEAKER_04

But I just figured like when she opened a trunk, I was like, there's not gonna be anything in there.

SPEAKER_02

No, because that'd be too obvious.

SPEAKER_04

No.

SPEAKER_02

So Annie, the next scene after Rio's very dramatic, undramatic exit was Annie trying to get Sadie to talk to her. Sadie wants nothing to do with her. Annie is at the point where she's like, I've even been talking to the turtle. We're having deep physiological conversations. I'm like, hey. Turtle's a good listener. I've had some really deep, meaningful conversations with my cats, okay? I'm, you know, something wrong with that. Sadie's not having it. Next scene is the ladies are dropping off the vehicle. So Beth has the car in quest, has one of the cars. Annie and Ruby are in the mini band, and they call it. I couldn't catch it. And I what kind of fog? I've listened to it like six times. What kind of fog did Sadie? I don't know.

SPEAKER_04

She was she was just like, she was like in in the fog or something like that. Oh, the fog. Okay. I think it was just the fog. Okay. Or in a fog. I didn't really catch a deeper meaning mean.

SPEAKER_02

And when Beth gets back in the car, they're watching, and Rio is with a chick. And Annie and we just kind of looked at they look back at Beth like, uh, what is she gonna do? Um, yeah, and Beth is not happy. Beth is feeling some type of way. She's definitely in her feelings. Um she's like, let's just go home.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah. Before, um, because well, she's also, she's like, I don't know what's in those cars. Like, I've checked every inch of them. I think also in when is the that first part with Sadie, is that when she's talking about like Julia Arm Armand or whatever with the whole teachable moment, or is it the next one?

SPEAKER_02

That was the Julia Armand. I don't remember now.

SPEAKER_04

I know one of them three times. Yeah, and one of them, she's like, Oh, but it's a teachable moment, and this and that.

SPEAKER_02

But Julia Armand is an actress. I think she meant Susie Ormond.

SPEAKER_04

Susie, yeah.

SPEAKER_02

But she said Julia. She did say Julia.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

I'm like, hey, that's an actress.

unknown

Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

I was like, I knew I didn't know she was an actress, but I knew the name was like not quite right.

SPEAKER_02

The next it's so funny. You hear, you see Jimmy Turner. I kind of say, I have to say Jimmy Turner. I don't know why I have to say it. And he's banging out, listening to his music, eating the sandwich, which made me hungry at the time. And he's going through the I think he's looking at the list of cops that were at the landfill.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

And he's going through it. Uh, because he because Mary Pat was like, her husband's a cop. So he's going through and he finds Stan. And he's looking like, yeah, got it. And then he's so at the police station, the cops are playing basketball. Stan's play basketball. Jimmy's like, hey, I got next. Stan is his asshole, his stomach is in his asshole. And he's just doing that whole little chit-chat, trying to get to know you shit. And they're talking about food and that maybe even more hungry. And he's like, Yeah, I haven't had a home cooked meal in forever. You know, whatever.

SPEAKER_03

Dong fog. What fog? Dong. Oh, dong fog.

SPEAKER_04

D-D-O-N-G. Sorry. It's like, oh, so now we're in the delivery business. She's in a fog, man. What the hell is in those cars anyway? Dong fog. It's eating her brain. I mean, fake cash sure.

SPEAKER_02

Okay, dong. I knew there was something.

SPEAKER_04

I'm like, and then she says, but what else? Like guns, people. And she says she presents like a baboon, you know, with the flared anus. Never ever say that word. Which flared or anus either.

SPEAKER_02

We've all been in dong fog before. We've all had those moments. Luckily, they don't last more than 24 hours, and I don't get a chance to make bad mistakes. Those 24 hours, I'm like, huh. I'm like, wait, bitch. Remember who you are.

SPEAKER_04

And yeah, it was that first one that she mentions. Julie Julie Ormond. The lady with the rooster on her head. Or something like that. The lady with the rooster hair.

SPEAKER_02

I miss, like watching the next scene. I miss doing Krista's hair. Like when she's a little girl. I miss that. So Ruby's doing her daughter's hair, and they're talking about a boy who likes her. And she's like, which one is he with the Afro or the Zitty braces?

SPEAKER_04

Zitty braces. Yeah, Zitty braces.

SPEAKER_02

She's like, Afro mom. Um, and the daughter gets that whole like pre- that tween angst down packed. Seriously, I was having like flashbacks. Seriously. I was having kids.

SPEAKER_04

I was like, oh shit. You've not done that. Although I will say that while I am no stranger to the part, she didn't really talk to me much. So, you know, like now we have better conversations. But then I would never have gotten even that much.

SPEAKER_02

I still can't get that much out of my, like, I've never got that from my daughter. I still can't. Well, I get a little bit more now. But um they're talking about the little boy likes her. He leaves a note in the locker. Do you like when you like pizza? I was like, oh. And then she's like, well, he leaves that in all the girls' locker. Yeah. And then here comes Ruby, just off the bat of Beth being played by her fuck buddy. Um, whatever. Well, that's the type boys are gonna leave notes in all the girls' locker. They try to put it in all the girls' lockers, they don't care what the lockers look like. He was like, She's like, put all that lockers looking like the girls just all fucking confused.

unknown

Yep.

SPEAKER_04

And and so she's like, you keep your locker shut tight.

SPEAKER_02

And the girls all types of confused, and I don't blame her. She was like, um, okay, but whatever. And then Stan comes in, he's like, You about done? And I was like, oh fuck. And he invited Jimmy, I want to say Jimmy Neutron, Timmy Turner, and Jimmy Neutron. I can't fucking just say Agent Turner. But I don't want to. Like my my gut, I just want to say either Jimmy Neutron or Timmy Turner. And I got Jimmy Turner, and it just doesn't fit right. Um, the agent. Okay, that's it. He invited the agent for dinner.

SPEAKER_04

Well, the agent kind of invited himself, but yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Himself. Um, she's like, we can't do that. He goes like it's gonna look funny. You know, we can't just say no. So she goes, she's like, you know what's gonna happen? You have that shaky leg, you don't have a poker face. Like, get your shit together. So she starts taking out like the frozen food. She's like, What are you doing? He's like, This is me staying out of fucking jail. Right.

SPEAKER_04

She put she puts like the lasagna, the frozen lasagna down.

SPEAKER_02

The like a bag on top of that. Because these are the kids and not have to dress up to visit me in jail for Christmas. This is what this looks like.

SPEAKER_04

Then he's like, You want me to bring? Yes, yes. That is gonna look worse like if if we're in jail or something like that. Right.

SPEAKER_02

He's like, okay. He's oh and this is where Beth comes home. The next scene, Beth comes home to the hot mess of a house. And we discussed that already. We already know what happened with that scene. Right. But obviously, she's like I said, she's not, she had a bad day at work. She did the house, is a fucking mess. Gang buddy just popped her bubble. After he popped her suburban cherry her suburb mom cherry, he now popped the bubble. Allegedly. Because we still technically don't know for a fact that they actually, you know.

SPEAKER_04

I mean, I think it's kind of it implied at this point. It's implied, but I just know for a fact no, but yeah. And I'll I'll tell when we're up to it, I'll tell you the reason. I think that it's a little bit more implied.

SPEAKER_02

Okay. When we're up to it. Dean is like, I couldn't do this, I couldn't do that. And then I was trying to do the the car seat, and then he goes, I deactivated the Yeah, he's like, uh the airbag. He's like, I don't know what is everything's changed now.

SPEAKER_04

No, he's like, he's like, when one of the kids is in the front, I turn off the airbag, but then when the other one is in front, I turn it back on, and you see the light bold. The light click. Yeah, in Beth's head.

SPEAKER_02

So you see her try to take the airbag out, and she's having problems, and finally she's like, you know what? Fuck this. And she just crashes the car into the building.

SPEAKER_04

And then whoosh, all the happy pills came out. Raining pills. Yeah. So they bring the pills to Annie's college friend who's like kind of like he's still in high school at this point.

SPEAKER_02

I don't know.

SPEAKER_04

Well, he's oh, right, because he's like college-level debate.

SPEAKER_02

Right. So if he was actually in college, it wouldn't make a difference. I think he was in high school, but he's like college-level debate.

unknown

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

And he's doing probably high school. He's testing all the drugs. Yeah. And she hears her talk about you know, it could be anything for special K to Molly to egg roll to gives and bits. Right. He's like, ah, I think it's she's like, no, it's like a statin. And they're like Barbies, Fennies, Roaches, egg rolls.

SPEAKER_04

First of all, how How do they not know what a statin is? And I'm not trying to be like whatever, but also movies a little heavy. So I feel like you're already on them. I'm already on them. And I'm teeny, okay? But like, you know.

SPEAKER_02

I'm just saying. It's easy to do. Yeah, I was a little disappointed that they're like, but then at least to Annie's probably like, well, do you get a high if you overtake stuff? Because some drugs are just basic, boring drugs. But if you overdo it, you give like a special high. To her point, maybe. Um, they're like, well, who wants, like, why who was like all these random mill drugs? He's like, a crackhead with bad cholesterol? I don't know. And it was pride of the sec.

SPEAKER_04

And Beth is like, so these are like normal people drugs? But I have I so okay. I think, and from so when they show the the whole thing, like all the pills flying out of the airbag thing, and then when they were saying, like, oh no, they're just like antidepressants and statins and like uh like blood pressure and like normal pep normal people. Right, that's drugs. Like the things that you just get from your doctor that are not narcotics, they're not really controlled substances like that. But I was thinking, but they're all in capsule form. So I'm thinking it's the capsule that might be what they're looking for, not the drug inside of it, because all the all the pill all pills are labeled. So if you look at a pill, it's gonna say like there, right? Like L59 or whatever. You you could Google it very easily and it's gonna say, oh, this is what this is. You can look at it in a book, you can look at it on Google, it's not that hard. But a capsule just because a capsule says L59 and it's this doesn't mean that that's what's inside of it. So I think I have a feeling that maybe that is what they need in order to put counterfeit because it's like it's it's it's easier than just being like here's oxy. You get caught with that and you're like fuck.

SPEAKER_02

You get caught with you, but they tell you what the purpose is though. Like what they're actually selling.

SPEAKER_04

What are they actually selling? The actual drugs. Well, it's the genet the Canadian generic, but I took it right. So he didn't say it. That's what Beth said. She said, your markup, if you're selling the generic Canadian bl drugs or whatever, your markup is this. So could it be? Yeah, but I was thinking like, man, he would make a lot more money if he was opening them and refilling them with things like oxy or uh, you know, per cassette, bike, bike it in, whatever. I'm just saying that what Beth says at the end might actually be what they're doing. But my first my first instinct when I saw the pills, and then they're like, oh, these are just like you know, quote, normal people drugs, is that maybe they the the capsule is the part that they wanted, not the drugs inside of it. That was my first thought. Was that they don't getting all those things is is a really easy way to pass better shit. If you put oxy inside of a stat and no one is gonna think twice when you have that on you.

SPEAKER_02

Lisa, you're gonna have to edit this out because when we have our big, like gay, like our drug empire, they may use this to indict us. So we're gonna have to edit this part. No, I'm just joking.

SPEAKER_04

She's like, you're right. Yeah, she's looking very serious. However, my statins don't come in a capsule, so I know for sure because it's it's just a a what what do you call it? Like a pill. I mean, obviously it's a pill, but you know a a tablet.

SPEAKER_00

Pill, right?

SPEAKER_02

That's tablet, pill, okay. And not a and not the yeah, and not uh electronic tablet. Because some people are like a tablet, huh? Yeah, because there's some people that may think that.

SPEAKER_04

Um that was my that's your thoughts.

SPEAKER_02

That was my thought for you just completely just gave them a blueprint about Empire. We're definitely gonna have to like do a lot of beeping. By the way, I'm so excited. I told you I was a little slow that I figured out how to beep out. Like I knew I could, I just didn't have to. You there was no beeps. No, I didn't need to, but I was Oh, I didn't need to beep.

SPEAKER_04

But I was just I was like, I you you were excited, but then I was like, I didn't hear any, that I didn't know.

SPEAKER_02

I didn't beep anything, but I realized so figured out what I'm like, oh, that's how I know it could be done, but I was just like, oh, there it goes. I was very excited. Okay, okay, that was it. Hold on, hold on, hold on.

unknown

Thank you.

SPEAKER_02

Thank you. Weren't you excited when you found like new things? How do you how to use your editing tool?

SPEAKER_04

Well, what I did is I just downloaded the sound. But you don't have to I don't know, and I just I just pop down.

SPEAKER_02

No, there's actually a thing to actually like you highlight and then enter the beat.

SPEAKER_04

Like the maybe, maybe in your software. I don't think there is in mine.

SPEAKER_02

I bet you there is.

SPEAKER_04

Okay. I mean, I don't know. Anyone who uses Garage Band, is there a way to just do it from the software? Text us and let us know.

SPEAKER_02

Okay. I am just but when you found like different things you can do, weren't you excited? You're like, oh yeah. Yeah, no, absolutely. And no matter how silly it was. I don't think it's silly. I am silly. So they're back of the house doing like pills off in arts and crafts.

SPEAKER_04

Oh my god, those boxes. I I Agnes knows I have tons of those for my cross-stitching supplies, and I'm just like, I love those things. It's so stupid. I love those things. Like when container store opened on Sixth Avenue, I was like, ah, like there's there's something so fucking hot about like organizational supplies. I so for me, I love to do the crafts and the needle crafts, and my main thing, you know, is cross-stitching. So I have those for I I can't even tell you how many boxes I have with all the colors, the you know, some for beads, because you know, and and uh I'm neurotic, so I like the DMC floss, and I like the Mill Hill beads. And I'm sure if you guys you already know.

SPEAKER_02

You know, you know.

SPEAKER_04

I have my Ada Fabrics, like you know, by the yard I buy, so I'm I'm ready. Who wants to come to a cross stitch party? But no, but just looking at her filling those boxes with pills, I was like, no, they're for floss, damn it, and beads.

SPEAKER_02

I just love the organization, period. Yeah, like I have my shoes and shoe boxes and like the clear boxes, my pantries all boxed and labeled, and it's just mixed.

SPEAKER_04

Your pantry is better than mine for that, yes.

SPEAKER_02

And I need a I need a bigger pantry. I want like a room pantry. I want like a but anyway. That would be nice. Oh my god.

SPEAKER_04

I just have to I I did have an issue though, after at one point, like because they have all the pills on the table, but then after they figure out right, like how to get the pills, and you see the kid and he's just like dumping the bag and like pills? Fucking pills are going everywhere. Why are you doing that?

SPEAKER_02

That bothered me too.

SPEAKER_04

Pour it out a little bit at a time because they're going everywhere.

SPEAKER_02

But that wouldn't be as dramatic. But yeah, it bothered the fuck out of me.

SPEAKER_04

Okay, I'll bet it wasn't just me.

SPEAKER_02

No, it bothered. I think it bothered every Gen X person out there.

SPEAKER_04

Like, we are from the generation of perfection. Like, no, you can't do that.

SPEAKER_02

It's funny how we are generation of perfection, but at the same time, the no fucks given. Like, we can No, no, no. I mean the game perfection. Oh, but still, I think we You know what I mean?

SPEAKER_04

So, like, we get anxiety because it's like, oh my god, the thing is gonna pop up, and and it's like, you know, that and the hungry, hungry hippos and get the marbles and like get everything, it it's always like we had to play these games where like we had to do shit and climbers so well adjusted.

SPEAKER_02

We could deal with anything. These kids don't have to deal with that, and they don't know how to deal with life. Like shit.

SPEAKER_04

Can I tell you something funny? So where I I I work remote, and I have like a little alcove where I work, and and four feet from my desk is like shelves where we had the games, and one of the games that's in there is operation, but I guess every so often there's stuff on top of it, and it I don't know, the house settles, the ghost comes to visit. I don't know what it is, but every so often it goes off. And so sometimes and there's another game that also goes off, and I hear sometimes I just get an operation, and I'm like, and and you can because there's no um the there's no cover for that one. You just see the light from the nose glow. And I'm just like, okay, all right. I have a co-worker today. All right. It's at least you're not alone. Casper's Casper's keeping me company, cool.

SPEAKER_02

We all need a co-worker that we can relate to.

SPEAKER_04

Mm-hmm. It's just funny because like it'll just be like at the most random times. And you just hear, I'm like, all right, cool. Knock yourself out, enjoy. Glad somebody plays with that.

SPEAKER_02

Spoiler. Her house is it's not the house settling, it's definitely a ghost. I hope so. I mean safer.

SPEAKER_03

I know, right?

SPEAKER_02

But less expensive. I'm like, it's safer if the house is secure and is a ghost as opposed to the house falling apart.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah. That makes sense. Well, Amaya goes the other day, she's like, you know how it sounds when the cats run up and down the stairs? And I'm like, yeah. And she's like, or when you're downstairs and you hear the cats running upstairs, I'm like, yeah. She's like, how come sometimes I hear that on the ceiling of my room? That we don't have an attic. So I'm like, well, it's probably a squirrel on the roof.

SPEAKER_02

Oh. As they're doing their arts and craps with the pills, they're talking about they're really talking shit about Beth. Um Ruby's like, well, this drug Beth. Yeah. At first I didn't get it. Why are we doing that?

SPEAKER_04

I'm glad I wasn't the only one.

SPEAKER_02

Like, why are we doing this? And it's like, well, we need our, you know, it's time for us to get our cut and shit. And Ruby's like, well, is that really the only reason? And she's giving Beth the side eye. She's like, well, what do you mean? She's like, well, there's drug Beth and counterfeit Beth. Yeah, he probably has a human trafficking bath. Diamond Beth, human trafficking bath. So um, yeah, Beth is getting played, and they're not wrong. Ruby's not wrong. So this is like in case you couldn't tell in the minivan, you could probably tell now that Beth totally gives a fuck about Rio and the chick. Um, can you like like imagine being pissed about the guy you fucked having other chicks? Right.

SPEAKER_04

And and you're married, like you're married, you fuck someone on the side, and then you're pissed off about who they're sleeping with. Right. That's some fucking entitlement right there. Right. Yeah. And they're like, oh, so you're now now you're cool with the fog. And they're like, well, you know, our positions, our values have shifted. Like, uh, okay. They're like, yeah, she's a side piece. And she's like, I don't care who he sleeps with. It's it'd be like an Annie is in the background, like, okay, take it down, take it down, like too much.

SPEAKER_05

Just a little bit, right?

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, yeah. But basically, they decide that they want to cut, and that's it. They're gonna get their money. So yeah, he's profiting off of their backs.

SPEAKER_02

What is the young kid's name? The young drug dealer. Well, she takes them Darren. Okay, so Darren, the next day she walks Darren through the uh the dealership and she takes him straight to the service guy. And I want you to show him how to disable the airbag the airbag. And the guy's like, the fuck? He's like, it's for a science project. Yeah. I like this kid.

SPEAKER_04

But but I also thought it was a kind of like she's your fucking boss. Like, I just thought it was a little odd to question her.

SPEAKER_02

Okay, so there's some things that should be questioned, like, take it out of airbag. That's not something that would ever be done. So that should be questioned, honestly. Because if someone was like, it's the same premise as someone saying to me, um, to it's kind of like someone asking me to fudge the books. I'm like, what? But but he wasn't. And that's one thing to do question.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, but it she wasn't saying, okay, disable the airbag. She's like, just show him how. But I could have been like very easily someone who No, I know, but like it could be like an engineering something or whatever. It was just more like, this is your boss. You're not asking him to do something that's technically illegal, morally questionable.

SPEAKER_02

If she would have asked another, if he was another service guy or a sales guy or someone who works a dealership, like, hey, show him how to take this out, it would be less questioned. This is someone who's off the street that's not an employee to take off. Like, wait, what? It's something that should be questioned. Like, why am I showing some random person how to take out an airbag that doesn't work for the company? And you want me to do this one company time? It's just, yeah. It's some like, is it illegal? No, but it's something like what it's not something that would happen. So you're like, well, why? Um but she uses now. She could you can start to see her bad bitch energy coming back again.

SPEAKER_04

So we go back to Annie now. Annie. Stalking Sadie.

SPEAKER_02

Annie's trying So she stalking her kid, and she's trying to bribe her with Listen, am I bribable? Sometimes, yes. I'm not gonna I'm not gonna I'm not gonna lie. Sometimes I'm bribable, depending on what the situation is.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, but this was completely like yuck.

SPEAKER_02

No, this is no, this is absolutely yuck. Side note, I am bribable. Um, and all Sadie wants is the truth. She just wants me to be honest.

SPEAKER_04

Right. So she pulls up and she's like, hey, I know you're mad, but like look at what I I I got you something. She opens her trunk and it's like filled with all kinds of stuff. And Annie's like, I got you a present. And she's like, You got me a mall. She's like, Well, you can pick what you want. And she's like, How the f like, how did you pick up? She's like, Oh, I picked up some shifts. Oh, at your supermarket. And it's like, well, yeah, it's a supermarket. And it Sadie already knows, like, she's not being honest. And it's like, okay, but seriously, how did you pay for it? And she's like, Oh, well, um, me and your aunt Beth are working on some new business thing, and it's like, but what? Oh, it's like uh, what'd she say? Venture.

SPEAKER_02

She's like, we are expanding our portfolio, diversifying our portfolio, and we have some sick returns. Those words made sense together, but um yeah, but but Sadie is right.

SPEAKER_04

She's like, but you're just saying words, like there's it's it's politicians speak. There's nothing behind it, it's just words. And Sadie's not stupid, and Sadie's like, no, like you're lying, and you lie about everything, and like basically I'm walking away. Like, just you know?

SPEAKER_02

We're done. Right. Ruby comes home from her um donut job. Yeah, yeah. With full of flour, and guess who's coming to dinner? Ugh. Jimmy Neutron, Timmy Turner, agent Turner, the FBI agent.

SPEAKER_04

He's like, well, he was like, that lasagna was delicious, and my mama told me never never to return uh the Tupperware empty. Empty.

SPEAKER_02

And once again, this made me hungry again. Yeah, look at it. Um, so you know, her assholes up in her stomach, so that's great.

SPEAKER_04

Um, but this I'm sorry, but if I come home and I'm tired and I'm filthy and I've got company, um I'm gonna be pissed. I don't Yeah. I don't care if I didn't do anything illegal. I'm not happy. And and I got no warning. You couldn't text me and be like, hey, by the way.

SPEAKER_02

Right. Like, um, yeah, that's kind of let's go have me off my game, period. I don't people don't come to my house without telling me. Family, no one's allowed to come to my house without telling me they're coming to my house. Even my daughter's like, hey, I'm coming by. And she has keys to the house, and she still doesn't use the key unless she has to. So there's a little respect to someone's home. Beth is in the kitchen washing dishes, she's looking at her window, and who's there? But Rio, of course. Yeah. He's pissed. She's no fucks given. She, even with the gun, she doesn't even flinch. Doesn't flinch at all. Yeah. And he wants his shit. She says fucking no. She goes, cut me in, or you're not, I'm not gonna tell you to you cut me in, or I could just kill you. Then you really won't get your fucking pills. Right. And the whole scene was kind of hot. I think that scene was one of the hottest scenes in me personally.

SPEAKER_04

And he because he was like, Oh, well, I think this thing with us has run its course.

SPEAKER_02

Oh well. And she makes it clear that you can't do this without her. Because what are you gonna do? Have your your gang, your your gang members open up a fucking car dealership. The fuck, you need me. Right, right.

SPEAKER_04

And she's right, and that's why he kind of was like, Okay, I can't shoot you.

SPEAKER_02

I can't shoot you yet. Right. Like, you know, and then you know, Dean comes out with his daughter, but she's just like, yeah. And not for nothing though.

SPEAKER_04

But Dean, what the fuck? If you see him out there, why would you and you're ready, right? Don't bring your kid out. And then Dean was like, Did he have a gun? So you even thought he had a gun and you thought, hey, let's bring the toddler outside.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. Even if you didn't know he had a gun until you came out, he you saw him there. You knew she wasn't by herself. Right, right.

SPEAKER_04

And you think that he's already dangerous, you don't bring your kid out. But anyway.

SPEAKER_02

And then he could see, like, but why him? Like he's pissed about them, and he's like, but why him? Of all the people, was his tattoos, and she comes back. Well, why any of the women that you slept with?

SPEAKER_04

I know, I know. And he's like, Well, I was lonely, and she's like, it's business.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, it's all business. Um, back to Ruby's dinner guest, and guess who threw the shaky leg under the table? Does Ruby know her husband or does she know her husband? I know.

SPEAKER_04

But you know what? And it's funny because like I shake my leg all the time. It's just it's just like a thing. Some people just do it as a thing. Right, and me, me, I'm that person. So like it wouldn't be like, oh my god, she's nervous about something. It would just be like Yeah, but considering being annoying again.

SPEAKER_02

Consider the situation, it doesn't help. Right, right, right, right. It doesn't help at all. So they have the whole dinner. The kids are loving every it was taking away this she's she's trying to, you know, care and is the an FBI agent, she's doing illegal shit. Taking that away, it was a beautiful little dinner. The kids entertained the agent and his boyfriend. It was beautiful, it was lovely. They even have a little, a good little private talk when she's just getting dessert ready. Never mind. That, you know, you just come come come clean and it'll be easier for Stan.

SPEAKER_04

Right. Because and and he brings up the pencat. And she and that's what gets that's what kind of stops her.

SPEAKER_02

Right. But that's what stops her in her tracks. Right. Because she's like, he knows more than he knows more than she thinks he knows.

SPEAKER_04

Even though we know that shit is totally inadmissible. But whatever. She's like Ruby's a good person.

SPEAKER_02

And there was a conversation during dinner. Um, and the agent and Stan are talking about like race as black boys. Like, you can't play with Tommy, you can't do fucked up shit with Tommy because at the end of the day, Tommy's gonna be home and you're gonna be in a fucking jail cell. And I know what the this is probably too soon because my point really needs to be made later on, but keep that in mind.

SPEAKER_01

Keep that point in mind. Annie is checking out a lady. Oh, that's why it makes sense. I said Annie is at the quote unquote the Lisa. Oh that's why I was confused. Now I make sense. Why are you laughing at me?

SPEAKER_04

I don't know. So Annie's ringing up Mrs. Cooper. And Darren is there.

SPEAKER_02

I'm trying to tell you some go on.

SPEAKER_04

Oh, Darren is there begging her groceries, and she's like, Oh, how's your mom? And blah, blah, blah, blah. And you know, they make the drug deal, kind of like right in front of Annie. And Annie's just like, all right, have a fine and frugal day. And then she leaves. And she's like, So, Darren, what are your parents like? And he's saying how they know what he does. And at first they were pissed, but then they're like, Oh, it's a teachable moment. And he's like, Oh, they don't mess with my Stees or some shit. And it's and Annie is just kind of hearing him say the words that she was just kind of telling Sadie. And I think she has like a little bit of a what the fuck did I do moment.

SPEAKER_01

Fuck moment. Yeah. Yeah. So but that isn't that when um at this point she you see her picking up Annie, Sadie again. Right. And she's she it's actually an apparent at this point.

SPEAKER_02

She's um, she's like, I get you three nights a week, every other weekend, get your ass in the car. I fucked up. I am sorry what I did to you. I fucked up, I hurt you, I can't just make this go away. And I absolutely fucked up. But I'm the parent, and when I say you to do something, you need to do it.

SPEAKER_04

Here, I have the thing. She says, Sadie wants to know where she got the money, and she says, I'm going to explain a few things to you. What I did was wrong, and I'm sorry. It was confusing and hurtful for you, and I feel sick about that. Believe me, I do. I wish that I had handled things differently. That being said, I'm your parent, and if I tell you to do something, I need it done. Three nights a week and every other weekend, you are mine. So get your ass in the car in the damn car now.

SPEAKER_02

I think this is also a good example of how, regardless of your child and the parent, children need and want discipline. They want their parents to be parents. Structurally. No matter how, like, oh, I have the cool mom or I have the cool parents, they still need and want that. Um, in case you didn't know, it was right there on the TV show. I love the way when Stan how Stan deals with stress and adversity. He to bring him back, he goes to his family. Like, for example, when him, when the last episode and with the whole body and the landfill and all that shit. What does he do? He watches TV with Ruby. This situation, it's due day with the family. Like his coping mechanisms are so healthy. And it's about, let's bring this back to what's right. Let me find comfort and something good. And that's his family.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, yeah. So he wants to take them all. He's like, come on. Like, I took the night off. Let's go to the zoo. I want to go. He made it ride the elephants. I was like, I'm gonna ride an elephant.

SPEAKER_02

I want to go to the zoo. I want to go to the side note, I've been wanting to go to the zoo for years, but I never have anyone that wants to go with me to like the zoo. Come on, you'll go with me. I love the zoo. And I don't want to go in the zoo, let's go to the zoo. I'm like, it's a fucking summer. It's hot, it's smelly. The animals are not gonna be out because it's fucking hot. I like to go in the fall. Okay. All right, let's go to the zoo.

unknown

Okay.

SPEAKER_02

And Ruby has decided she opt out.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, she's like, I have errands, and then we find out a little bit. Right, what it is.

SPEAKER_02

It's actually the Aaron, she is she calls herself turning herself in to the agent.

SPEAKER_04

Right, but she says Stan has to stay out of it. And he's like, no, he's gonna be fine, and you will be too.

SPEAKER_02

And she was like, Wait, isn't this way you arrest me? He's like, Right, I want her.

SPEAKER_04

And he only says her, and I'm thinking, well, it's bad. He obviously means Beth, but could he mean Mary Pat? Okay. Now I know like you know because you've seen it, but I was thinking, like, you know, there there is that part of me that's like, well, Mary Pat was the one who pushed this, right?

SPEAKER_02

Who kind of was like, no, no, no, but it's he probably thinks she's full of shit too, so it could be Mary Pat. Like in Yeah. This is the scene where my previous thought came into account. It's the scene where he's talking to Stan about how black children need to be careful about what they do and who they do it with, and the juxtaposition of how you have this FBI agent, not only is the FBI, but he's also he's law enforcement, he's also a black man, but how he wants to get this he wants to get the suburban white mom. And wasn't intentional, no. I don't know if it was intentional in the writing, but I saw it. I the fact that it was in the same same episode, almost a scene apart, I don't think that was accidental.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, but that's but I think and I also think that when you've had a a country such as ours where people who are not white are considered minority, and that in itself has undertones that I don't like.

SPEAKER_02

But obviously you're doing something wrong, and you just living is illegal.

SPEAKER_04

But that's what I'm saying, right? So, like right away, you know, it's like throw the black and the brown people into jail, and I and I don't want to hear the statistics about how, you know, oh well, they must be bad because that's what our prisons are filled with. Well, guess what? Correlation is not equal causation and know your facts. Now, that being said, I think that when you have someone like this agent who is a black man, and not just a black man, but a gay black man who probably has had to live in like alternative places, you know, because he doesn't fit the norm, right? Of that that tough guy, white cop or whatever that we have traditionally seen. I think that he is able to think outside the box and he is able to see things that the other quote law enforcement don't see because it's this inherent. Well, right, or don't want to see because it's and and and and believe me you, I'm not saying that black and brown cops don't fall into that same pattern of stereotyping, but maybe the just juxtaposition is that he can see it because he's kind of lived the other side. So he knows like I'm not bad just because I'm brown, I'm not bad just because I'm a man, you know, and and is able to say look at look at what she's doing, and nobody looks at her because she's a suburban white lady. So I agree, I agree fully, and as a white person, I can say that.

SPEAKER_02

Well, as a black woman, I'm going to say regardless. So there's that. So after that little uh tidbit, after that little realization, and Ruby's like, what the fuck? Here comes Beth getting back her boss bitch energy again. And she, for the purpose of this episode, bat in a total badass way, gets back who she her sense of self and negotiates a 50-50 split with Rio. Right. Um, she does, she breaks down the money and the deals and the percentage and the loss and all that other fun stuff.

SPEAKER_04

Right, because she's saying, assuming you're buying generic Canadian with your typical drug dealer mark markup. So that's what I'm saying, she's the one who was saying, like, oh, assuming this. And he never confirms nor denies.

SPEAKER_02

But he's not going to because he's a smart businessman.

SPEAKER_04

No, and that's fine. I'm just saying. So that's why we don't know for sure what's going on because all we have is what Beth is saying, and she's saying it's an assumption. So he's like, Well, what do you want? And so then she's like 50-50, and he's like, Oh, you look good behind that desk, but you look better on top. And so I'm like, that to me is where it's like, I think it's a little bit more than implied because could the tension just be there? Sure. But I think that all the little touches and all and and the comments about like maybe this our thing has run its course and you look better on top of the desk. Like, I just feel like, and then the fact that she's feeling some type of way because he's with that other woman, it's like yeah, probably it's more likely that it happened than it didn't happen. Because you're seeing it from both of them, not just her.

SPEAKER_02

So, okay, what if I'm not drunk enough for me? What if Rio is like he is a CEO gangbanger with a heart of gold? What if he's giving up the pills for free? I don't know, maybe. Because the people in the underprivileged neighborhoods can't afford their medication.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

A little Punani just made him like, you know what? I want to give away some.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, I don't think so, but okay. Um, you know, so like whatever. So they they settle on 50-50. She hands him the key, she's like, here, it's at a storage locker in this place, and he's like, okay. And she's like, and by the way, I would have taken 40. 40. Which I thought was a nice callback.

SPEAKER_02

Um, and also the storage locker, it was the same storage locker, wasn't it? Oh, I think.

SPEAKER_04

Well, because she was like keys to the kingdom. So I I mean, I thought maybe it was, but I feel like anyone's checked. I mean, but I don't know, whatever.

SPEAKER_02

Maybe maybe just too obvious for him to check.

SPEAKER_04

Well, maybe a di maybe a different locker in the same storage place.

SPEAKER_02

Maybe.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

But um, so then I think he did kind of pause when she gave him the key, and he kind of looked like paused and gave a like a something. Yeah, like and then she's like kicked to the kingdom. And he's like, okay.

SPEAKER_04

I hear I mean it could have just been a call back on the words, but but who knows? Um so then we go back to the house, and Beth walks in and everything is clean and whatever. And Dean comes in and he's like, I did the bomb with a vacuum cleaner. It's dangerous and it's crazy, but it works. And she's just like, Okay, take off your pants. And he's like, Wait, what? And she's like, Take off your pants. And you see her doing the same thing, kind of like leaning over the sink, hiking up her dress, and he's like, right now, like, okay. So he starts to kiss her. He's excited, and she's like, No, no, no, just do it. Just do it, just do it. And you can see Dean, like, what the fuck is this? Like, he's yeah, he's not that dumb.

SPEAKER_02

Okay, honestly, okay, that's not that wasn't their relationship, but still, every I know I do, I want you to love me. We're gonna make love. Sometimes we just have sex, sometimes, but every so often, I want you to come home and just fuck me. Throw me over the bat, throw me over the edge of the couch and just and then afterwards, hey babe, how was your day? But sometimes that it's yeah, yeah, that works. That absolutely fucking works. And I think every marrow should have a little bit of that in it. Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

But I think it was just the fact that she was like, just do this, hurry up. Like he definitely knew it was coming.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, she wanted it to be Rio.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah. And the next day you see him taking the kid to the Krav Maga, the kid's getting his ass beat, but then he goes to the instructor, he's like, So have you killed anyone? And he wants to he wants to take out Rio. Right, obviously. And then the guy's like, What? He's laughing, and then he's like, but but have you? Oh, you're so crazy.

SPEAKER_02

But the way the guy was laughing and then stopped.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Like, you're so crazy, but you're not that crazy.

SPEAKER_04

But have you? Like, Dean, what the fuck are you doing? Yeah, but then that's where the episode ends, and I'm like, okay. So Dean, you don't like to be the other man, huh? It's okay when she was the other woman. Right.

SPEAKER_02

But so any thoughts, comments, concerns, questions, comments, concerns? No.

SPEAKER_04

Nope. Just I mean, I thought it was, you know, a a good episode, whatever. I mean, there were things that were like, whatever. But you know, it's just one of those things where it's like, okay, you know, we'll just wait to the next episode and we'll see more. I have my thoughts on the whole did they, didn't they? And what are the pills for? But you know, where's the FBI? Who's the her? But whatever. We'll soon find out, I guess.

SPEAKER_02

Or will we?

SPEAKER_04

Or will we?

SPEAKER_02

This is not like loss. We will definitely find out. Loss will leave you fucked up years afterwards.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, for real. But um, yeah, so you know, text us if you have questions, comments, and uh assassinsips.com. Drink responsibly, don't drink and drive. And until next time, I'm Lisa.

SPEAKER_00

And I'm Agnes, and we're out of here. See you later. Bye.
