Hi, and welcome to this episode of Assassin's Tips. Today we are talking about Good Girls Season 4, Episode 5, The Banker. I'm Lisa, and today I am actually sipping on regular caffeinated coffee.
SPEAKER_01Smartass.
SPEAKER_00Mm-hmm. Thumbs up.
SPEAKER_02I am the less sassy co-host today. I'm Agnes, and I'm sipping on mint tea. Cuz mama got an uptet tummy.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. Hanging around those little boys and random people.
SPEAKER_02I know it's so people. Um, I just want to apologize for the possible sounding today. I don't know what's gonna happen to after we edit, but yeah. I'm having technical difficulties.
SPEAKER_00Do you remember the prediction? Yeah. Do you remember the prediction that you made for this episode? And you're like, I don't remember. I don't remember. Yeah, you bull fucking bullshit. I remember I call bullshit on you. Shenanigans!
SPEAKER_02I predicted that she should have a weapon given to her in this episode. And she did. A weapon was given to her too. So um that prediction was just like, oh, it was it was kind of cool prediction, actually, because I didn't fucking know. Of course you knew. No, like okay, I'm gonna tell you why I didn't know, because I didn't realize when I first watched the show that she was given a gun after on each and every season finale. That's something you came up with. I understand that.
SPEAKER_00Right.
SPEAKER_02But you're gonna be like, oh, that case then she might have a gun now. I don't remember what episodes happened from like five, six years ago. I don't know if the episodes I watched.
SPEAKER_00The banker. Oh, okay. Oh, that was easy. She goes in and collects money.
SPEAKER_02She's got a known what episode I was talking about when I made the prediction. You know they're coming here prepared. The fuck?
SPEAKER_00I couldn't have killed that lady. I was busy robbing a bank. That's that's your argument right now.
SPEAKER_02Pretty much, I tell you, you know, I do not prepare. Like, I can watch the episode before we record, and I'm like, yeah, I don't remember that. All right. You're the only one who watches the TV shows with and dissecting each episode. I don't. I just watch it and I come on here and I'm like, okay, whatever I remember, I remember. Maybe I'm not sure.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, well, that's how I keep my brain cells active in here.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, I don't I don't want to keep mine active, so there's that.
SPEAKER_00Okay.
SPEAKER_01Whatever.
SPEAKER_00That's my hot take.
SPEAKER_02You just mad that my prediction was right.
SPEAKER_00I'll give you credit when your predictions were right. Like when lost.
SPEAKER_02Because you got excited because it was your show. You're like, oh, she's getting into it.
SPEAKER_00Well, no, it was more like how the fuck did she come up with that?
SPEAKER_02I was high off I must have been high and drunk, because that's the only way for you to understand lost, is to be high and drunk and tripping off of shrooms. So that's your hot take is to call bullshit. But okay.
SPEAKER_00Well, shenanigans. Because South Park, another show you don't watch.
SPEAKER_01I'm going to sip my tea. Alright. Well, take a sip and lead us in. So Dean's still in jail.
SPEAKER_02Secret Service is breathing down Beth's neck. And she's been giving a promotion at work. So that's the short person episode. You guys, thank you for joining us. We'll see you next week. Uh-huh. Uh-huh. Annie did some adulting today. You know, she didn't fuck up. I mean, the she took a baby on a like a banker run.
SPEAKER_00But Well, yeah, because Nancy needed childcare and nobody.
SPEAKER_02I'm just doing the short version. I'm not going to details yet. Oh. I'm just doing like a rundown of the season of you know the episode. But are we gonna We're gonna get to it?
SPEAKER_01No, we're gonna get to it.
SPEAKER_00Okay, I thought you were trying to speed this up.
SPEAKER_01Alright, I'll show you. Let's get into the episode.
SPEAKER_02After placing a tracker on Rio's car, how I don't know how they did that, but anywho, Beth is outside the drop-off location. Rio no show.
SPEAKER_00What's so hard about figuring that out?
SPEAKER_02Because I don't trust Dave to do anything right.
SPEAKER_00Well, that's right. Maybe that's why Rio. Maybe that's why that's why it ended the way it did.
SPEAKER_02Exactly. Um, Rio didn't show up. And they're like, Well, she goes, he knows. He's like, how did he know? He just knows. Well, he probably knows. Ellis is like, thanks, FBI. You guys are really encouraging me to work with you guys.
SPEAKER_00Enough for nothing though. Like, I understand that it comes off as just straight paranoia because I mean, yeah, you know, any any almost anybody in that situation would be scared. But I feel like you know you need her because she's the one who got close to him. So maybe listen to the fucking lady. Have we learned nothing? Let's not get her killed.
SPEAKER_02You know, let's, you know believe the lady. But in this eye, they got at least they got somebody. So if it works out, great. If it doesn't, I we got Dean. It doesn't have to be the right answer, but they got an answer. Yeah. So she's screaming, at least get Dean out. He's like, I didn't get what I needed. Thanks to your 1970s tracker. Let's start off with that. But I digress. Nancy's in some trouble. She's has no babysitter. They go back and forth.
SPEAKER_00Can I just make an observation? Absolutely. These I and I was I was referring to them as FBI, but no, they're Secret Service. I guess that's like a totally separate.
SPEAKER_02It is separate, but same difference. Okay. As far as we're concerned.
SPEAKER_00But still, I feel like after this whole encounter where they're waiting at like the print shop, and Beth is sitting outside as usual, but they're inside. And they have her wired and everything. And they have her, they're inside. And then as soon as she runs in, is like, he's not gonna show. They like pack up and leave. And I felt like if he didn't know before, what if you just sealed the fate? Like, what if he was just sitting there watching you? And now you just legit walked right out the door with all your equipment. Like, how fucking dumb was that? You didn't wait, you didn't um, you know, do recon. You didn't go out the front door, you didn't go separately. No, y'all just packed up your shit and be like, okay, see you. Like, let's take our surveillance equipment. Bye.
SPEAKER_02Exactly why I was concerned about them even putting the tracker on the car. Because No, right, no, no. But they don't inspire faith in me. I don't, yeah, I don't know. Right. They're like the mailbooks version.
SPEAKER_00I mean, getting a tracker on a car isn't isn't a hard thing to do, but I feel like your the rest of your actions are so incompetent that it's like you're definitely tipping the scales towards him knowing rather than you catching him.
SPEAKER_02They give me Secret Service a la Melbrooks.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_00He's he's um And now she's thinking, may the Schwartz be with you. Yes, exactly. The helmet. May the Schwartz be with you. Exactly what I was thinking.
SPEAKER_02I know, because I was thinking of the same thing, and we share a brain.
SPEAKER_00The helmet would have been an improvement.
SPEAKER_02Two was coming out. That's what his name was production. I'm excited for that.
SPEAKER_00I know. I haven't I mean I haven't seen that movie since I lived in Brooklyn, but um right? It was the helmet.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, and yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. I just lost you for a second. That's how I'm I mean the Oh, okay.
SPEAKER_02Uh-huh. Can't wait to see too. I think I'm gonna rewatch maybe when we get done edit, when we get done recording, I might just watch space balls.
SPEAKER_00Okay. Well, I have to see what's going on.
SPEAKER_02Those who are listening have no idea what we're talking about. We're talking about space balls.
SPEAKER_00Go watch space balls. You know what we're talking about. If you're here, you probably know what we're talking about.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, probably do. Nancy's in a bind. She needs a babysitter. Annie uh Annie goes, well, can't you just have them reschedule? She goes, No, she goes, can't you have someone else do it? She goes, Well, I'm kind of the boss, so I just I can't. She goes, so reschedule it then. Which honestly, you know, you know, it's not a far-fetched suggest suggestion. She's like, It's at the bank, and I can't. She goes, Well, you know, that poor guy looks out of reliable, isn't he? Family.
SPEAKER_00Umtics make it even funnier because they're in Annie's apartment. Nancy's stressing the fuck out. I guess she was dropping off Ben. And then, and Annie's just kind of like sitting on the couch, shoving food in her face, like, I don't know, ask the pool guy, reschedule. Like, so on shallow while it while Nancy is like, she looks like Tweak, you know, she's like jittery.
SPEAKER_02Okay. What pulls Annie in be was Ben offering, and Nancy's like, well, yeah, that could work. She could he can skip a day. He's like, she Annie's like, no, that's not happening. I'll watch the kid. Where this goes, I know the reason it goes is for like the storyline, but it was so easy not to go that way. So it's a little annoying. Ruby calls Stan about, I don't know how I feel about this. Okay. She said, I forgot to pack your sauce for your meatloaf. He's like, No, it's fine. You know, he's trying to keep her. He goes, she's like, no, I'll bring it to you. He's like, no, don't. I already ate it. And she goes, Meatloaf without chimichuri sauce? And I was just like, I never had it like that, but now I want some. Exactly. That was my that I was like, I don't know how I feel about this, but I'm with this side of radishes and butter. Like, is it meatloaf with chimichuri sauce? But either way, I'm willing to try it. So if anyone's out there, chimichuri is good. Check, check. Right, everything's good. Let us know. If you guys get to it before I do, I don't cook anymore. So I will make a meatloaf with chimichoy sauce just for that. You know, I might have to. And she's going back and forth with him, and he's like, no, no, it's delicious. It's not dry. It's fine. You see her actually in the employee lounge with dude eating Stan's food.
SPEAKER_00Right, the backup security guard.
SPEAKER_02The yeah, I don't mean if I was Ruby, I would have shoved his face on the table. Like, don't eat my husband's food. Like, it would have been violent. I would have chosen violence.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. And then after, you know, Stan finishes lying to her and she's like, okay, bye. She gets up to leave, and the guy's like, can I get that sauce? Like. And she gives it to him. I mean, at that point, I think she's just like, I whatever. I'm shrugging my shoulders and you can't see. Sorry.
SPEAKER_02Like I I'd be mad at my husband for lying to me, but at the same time, he's my husband. No one can eat his food but me. You know what I mean? I'm like, that's it's like China. They're a fight amongst themselves, but anyone else comes from the outside, it's the band together.
SPEAKER_00Like I could be mad at you. Because I tell you, I might have given it to him, and then depending on how events played out, could you imagine if Stan showed back up to work and the guy was like, yo, that chimichuri was good. Now Stan's gonna be like, what do you mean? That's gonna fuck with his head.
SPEAKER_02That's true. You know, not needed though, but yeah.
SPEAKER_00He's not needed, but I might I might have let it roll too. Go ahead, eat it. Tell him how good it was.
SPEAKER_02As she's watch as she's giving him Stan's chimichoy sauce, there's a guy tied up behind in Stan's back of Stan's car. A little juxposition of what's going on there. Beth is at home going through cabinets, as I know I just did, looking for something random and end up rearranging everything. But anyway, Rio visits Beth and she goes, Where were you? He tresses her and pretty much makes her strip with her socks on. And he places the 1970s tracker. I was I'm gonna say that for the entire in the entire episode. I'm gonna call it the 1970s tracker. Someone didn't they have like eye tags? I feel like it could it could have been so much ear tags, some kind of Bluetooth tag.
SPEAKER_00Well, I don't I don't know if air tags would have worked, but I do um if air tags were around, but I do know this. Air tags, and I and I don't know, even like even if they were around back then, if they had this um safety feature, but like let's say somebody puts an air tag in my car and I don't know it. Once I leave the vicinity, I'm gonna get an um an alert on my phone that said you're traveling with an air tag, does it belong to you? Yes, I know that.
SPEAKER_02That's why it was a joke.
SPEAKER_00Uh oh, I didn't I don't know.
SPEAKER_02But you're not an Apple user, so I don't know It was a joke because like because the 1970s air like tracker, like hey, can you use something a little bit more current?
SPEAKER_00It was a joke, but go well, there's plenty of current stuff out there, but whatever. I was using it facetiously, but okay. You know what? I don't know when you're joking or not. It's too damn early in the fucking morning, and clearly I have not had my coffee.
SPEAKER_02Because it's in process of being I need an IV up your arm right now with caffeine.
SPEAKER_00Going down my throat right now, sliding right into my mouth and down my throat. Yeah. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Come here.
SPEAKER_02Wait, wait, wait. I'm having a moment. Wait.
SPEAKER_00Oh. And considering your stomach issues, I'm kind of scared to ask what kind of moment you're having.
SPEAKER_02Oh no. This was a little further south moment.
SPEAKER_00Further south than diarrhea. What the fuck is further south than diarrhea? Your feet. South of my stomach, rather. Just like okay. Yeah, your butthole. It was a couple well, south and forward. Sorry, sorry. South east. No, so it's southeast. You're having a southeast. I don't know. Which way are you facing?
SPEAKER_02We got issues. They're gonna put like a warning on our podcast now. Not safe for anything. Never mind work. So after he put not safe without ear parts. I just like after he puts the tracker on the table, table off. I quit. After he puts the tracker on the table, he tells her to watch her back.
SPEAKER_00I mean, she she could have played it off a little better, I thought. Cause she would like I would have been like, what the fuck is that? Where'd you find that? Did somebody put that on my car? Like, I would have doubled down. I I would have taken a page out of Annie's crazy book and just put it into that book. What what is that? Do you think that they're following us? Like, turn it around. Make it about us. Make it about me. I don't know. What what else are you gonna do at that point?
SPEAKER_02I thought about that too. And I also was like, well, she always kind of looks like dumbfounded at first whenever he approaches her. Even when she's has nothing to do with it, she's always just like, uh. So I think this was typical Beth response.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, but but I think that she could have done better. That's just my opinion. Because that might have been over. Obviously, she No, I don't know, but like the thing is, like, she knew what it was. Right. But I think she should have still been like, what is that? And what does that mean for like laundry? Like, she should have included herself in the problem. That's it. Even if it was something simple as do you think there's one on my car too? Okay. Where do I find it? You know, I don't know, like just something because you standing there just kind of I think for real, it kind of um confirms that you're not scared for you. Like regardless if she had anything to do with it or not, like I feel that if I were in that situation and I really had nothing to do with any of that, I would have been scared for me. Yeah. So you know what I mean? Like, oh shit, who's watching you and are they watching me too? And she had none of that.
SPEAKER_01And so I feel like that the absence of that is is real's lie detector. Okay, I c I will sign off to that theory. I I mean it's just right, it's just that makes sense. Yeah. Anyway, back on track.
SPEAKER_02Back on track. I don't know, a track. It might not be the right track, but we're gonna go we're gonna go on a track. Come with us. So Ruby and Beth are in the back of the stationery store and they're looking at the 1970s tracker, and Annie comes in, stress the fuck out because this baby's not crying. Ruby is like, I shouldn't give a fuck. Stick the shove the binky in the baby's mouth and keep it moving. Gang friend's right-hand dude plays him a visit. He does, he's like, the baby's hungry. And she goes, where's the bottle? Seconds count when they're hungry. He's really good with babies. He is so good.
SPEAKER_00And I'm not surprised because you know I mean, he he is just being more and more husband material every episode. I'm not mad at it because I'm just like, oh. Okay. Like, look at his soft side.
SPEAKER_02And it that's what every woman wants. Like a man that she knows she's gonna be safe with and she could walk on the street and no one's fucking with them. And then at home, complete teddy bear. You know, I was like, I'm feeling this.
SPEAKER_00Yes. And you know he ain't gonna slap her around either. No, he looks like he is, but he's not. Yes, yeah. Ding, ding, ding, ding.
unknownCome on.
SPEAKER_00You know she's gonna slap him around. I mean, he probably will like it, actually.
SPEAKER_02He likes a strong woman.
SPEAKER_00Um definitely does.
SPEAKER_02He he probably tell Elizabeth to get in the car. That's another thing. Everyone's telling Elizabeth to get in the car. She was like, I I can't leave. And he goes, why not? And he goes, Well, I'm not allowed to be alone with a baby. And Ruby goes, I'm done with kids. My kids are girl. Like, I don't even fucking look at me. So obviously they take a field trip. He's put in the car seat. Beth goes, it'll be easier if you put on the side. He goes, Are you crazy? He's like, What are you smoking? This is the safest place for him. And this the whole thing is hysterical, and I'm loving it. But what drives me baddie, and I know they did this for the storyline, but once he made it clear that she was coming with without the gang, with without the baby, I would have been like, fine, I'll go by myself.
SPEAKER_00Like, yeah, I didn't really consider that, but I think you have a point.
SPEAKER_02I could get using the baby to get it in mom making her go. But once he was making them go, you're like, fine, fuck it.
SPEAKER_00But that's then again, point counter point, right? So yes, I understand and I do agree. However, after seeing how he was with the baby, I guess it's kind of not far fetched that like maybe the baby won't be in harm's way because he wouldn't put the baby in harm's way. If that makes sense. Like if they were going to the okay corral for a shootout, he would not have let that baby come.
SPEAKER_02Good point. But it it w but it's Also, someone else's baby. Like you feel like you don't like yeah, it was just weird. But they need it for the storyline, and it was cute. He pretty much she has all collected money that Rio collects that Rio's owed for protection. The first time she's like, and as you see her collecting the money, she's getting real sassy with it. And she's feeling herself. I'm the banker. I'm the banker. I'm the banker, bitch. Um so she gets to the last one. And apparently the mother is sick. She's I've had other things in her mind. She goes, Well, you need to give me the money. She goes, or what? And it's like, shh.
SPEAKER_00Okay. I saw myself and that lady a lot.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, like at this point, I really don't give a fuck.
SPEAKER_00You know that that bitch was sick and tired of being sick and tired and taking care of a sick and tired mom. So like she had exactly zero fucks left to give to Beth.
SPEAKER_02And while Beth is the banker, what is his name that doesn't have a name? Eric is visiting Dean in jail.
SPEAKER_00Oh, yeah, I think his name was Eric. Not Scott. It was not Scott. Yeah, Scott.
SPEAKER_02He is going to get him out. He's like, I'm gonna get you out. I'm gonna figure it out. He's like, whatever. And he goes to Bob something, and like, oh, he wants like a card or something. I guess it's a rare card. The guy just looks at him and grabs a bat off of his wall, like I know.
SPEAKER_00It looked like a pawn shop or maybe not a pawn shop, but like something like that. Yeah.
SPEAKER_02And I kind of felt bad for him because he failed at this, and you can tell he's upset, he's crying, he's beat up, and he's not crying because he got beat up, he's crying because he is beat up, if that makes sense. Mm-hmm. Thank you.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. His his ego took a beating as well as his body.
SPEAKER_02He's like, damn, I can't get anything right. While Beth is playing the banker, and I'm watching it, I'm like, girl, you are so stupid. I don't know why you're so excited. I mean, I could get you start relaxing because you realize you're not gonna get killed, but this is not what you think it is. But that's just me. And we find out that Agus was correct as the in the episode of what the purpose of her being the banker is. But I'm thinking, I'm like, Lisa is watching this calling her stupid for being so comfortable in this role. I'm like, uh-huh. I was waiting for this episode to record, because I'm like, oh, is this what we all call her stupid together in unison? Stereo sound.
SPEAKER_00I mean, she just, you know, it's kind of the routine of things, right? Like the first time you do something, you're nervous, you're apprehensive, it's new to you, you don't know how it's gonna go. And then every time you have a small win, you get a little bit more comfortable and a little bit more comfortable and a little bit more comfortable. And then by the time she got to that last bitch, who she did call bitch, she was so comfortable that I feel like she definitely let her guard down. And with the other woman being so like I just I just don't have time for you, and I don't even fucking care. Like shoot me, put me out of my misery, I don't care. It was like she she wasn't expecting that, and then she she kind of like didn't know how to regroup. She just the girl got her in a way. I mean, like Beth you you just you just you got high on your own supply, bitch. Yeah.
SPEAKER_02But she got high Yeah, she did. And I I mean I know that's not like inexact, but but it No, but no, it's exactly what happened. She got high for her own Yeah. In essence. Mm-hmm. After when she gets in, dude is like, Everything there? She's like, Yeah, everything's great, everything's there. Ruby is now it's really fucked up over Stan lying to her. So she's going through his shit, and she finds purses in the back of his car, or the car, or car, or what have you. I don't know. And she has reason to be a little weary because Gene has wanted Stan to play gigolo with this woman because he wants to do business with her. We don't know how it turned out. I don't remember how it turns out, but knowing the way the show goes, I'm pretty sure he didn't do the deed. But it's Stan. And this is when she realized the consequences of her action that you just don't steal from people like him. And he's now Stan is now his bitch. And she's like, fuck. I done fucked up. We're fucked. And she asks him, Well, how long do you have to work it off? And he's like, I don't know. How long do you have to work off for your guy? She's like, Oh, we're really fucked. Like, there's no getting out of this. Beth goes back to the chick and she pretty much gives her the gun. She's like, You are going to have a lot of shit pop off. You're gonna need this. Someone's gonna be collecting. If it's not me, it's gonna be someone else, and they will be collecting. Nancy picks up Dakota and she freaks that. She's the first of all, she just feels like with lots of you changed. He's like, just did. And she freaks out because she has he has a rash. Yeah. And she goes, Did you use the cream on the side? She's like, No, I use the one on the back. She's like, that one doesn't work. She goes, then why do you have it? Which is a fair. She goes, as a backup. She said, it doesn't make any sense. It really doesn't. If it doesn't work, why have the backup? Just buy two of the ones that actually work. Right. It just that that scene pissed me off because the baby was fine. As far as Nancy knows, the baby was fine. And I feel like I wouldn't put it past her to put the one that doesn't work in there as a setup because well, because this is what happens when I have a child taking care of a child. I was just like, oh, I would have. And the fact that Annie was, I know Dan Annie was doubting herself because she did put the kid in a harm's way. But at the same time, I would have been like, get the fuck out of my house. I don't want to see you or Dakota ever again. I would have Annie was very dejected. And she took the brunt. Like that, none of that makes sense. And I felt bad for Annie. Then of course Nancy was like, oh, she did a great job behind her back. She's like, oh, Dakota loves her. She did a great job. Fuck you and the horse you rode in on. Mm-hmm. But that's just me. Final scene Beth is at a restaurant and she sees Agent Hotmess and Angent Kahuna walk in. That's their new name.
SPEAKER_00Agent Kahuna.
SPEAKER_02Agent Kahuna, yeah. And she's just looking very expectantly, and then in slides Rio. And he goes, Anything you want to know? Anything you want to tell me? She's like, no. He's like, the books were off. She's like, oh, she has, I'm assuming the last girl's money. Or she got money from somebody. I don't know. So and she realized, okay, my job is done. Thank you. Appreciate it. That was fun. Nice knowing you. He's like, what are you talking about? You're the face of the you're the face of this. She goes, well, shouldn't we stop? Because, you know, obviously you're being trapped. He's like, I'm okay. They're only gonna see you. Which anyone who's paying attention would have known that's what he was doing. So he makes it clear that he goes, they're going to want to meet you. And she's so excited because she turns around once he leaves and tells Agent Hotmess and Agent Kahuna he has a boss.
SPEAKER_00And like, again, did you at least wait till he left the parking lot before you turn around?
SPEAKER_02Same. They might be talking about meatloaf with chiba chewy sauce. You never know.
SPEAKER_00I know, but like no.
SPEAKER_02No, but no. None of it makes sense. Right. And apparently that was good enough to get Dean out of jail. And that's the end of this episode. And I'm not giving any more predictions.
SPEAKER_00Why you didn't look any up? Just kidding. I got the finger. Alright. I got two of those. Mine are red. Mine are not. I don't I never polish my nails. I ain't got time for that. I don't have anything else on this episode. Neither do I. Except Beth is a fucking moron. And it's like dumb leading the dumb with this investigation. I feel like um Jim Carrey and Lloyd. Well, I can't I think of his name in real life. But like Harry and Lloyd should be carrying out this investigation because they might actually do a better job. You know what I'm saying? I agree with that too. I can't and I can't think of his name in real life, but like I remember the character's name. So yeah, them.
SPEAKER_01But that's it. Okay. Thank you for listening to us this week. Do you have anything else? Nothing.
SPEAKER_02Not at all.
SPEAKER_00Well, text us if you eat meatloaf with chimichuri and let us know. Don't drink and drive drunk responsibly. Visit us at assassinsips.com for all the ways. And bath, just no.
SPEAKER_01No.
SPEAKER_00Like I have nothing else to say about her. Except no. But until next time, I'm Lisa.
SPEAKER_02And I'm Agnes.
SPEAKER_00And we are out of here. See you later. Bye. So side note, can I just tell you I'm sitting here and this is the first morning that we're recording since definitely last summer. But like since we've been here, that I look out the window and I don't be like, ugh. I mean, the art is still a mess, but like we we finally like the pool got delivered. They came, they installed it. It's not ready just yet. Um, it still needs like chemicals and stuff. But it's helpful to your future of but it's it's built, it's I mean, it's really pretty, and it's it's full. Like we finished mostly finished filling it yesterday. Um and it's like um Amaya's like, you think we could see the bottom this year? Because with the old um filter, whatever, like the sand would keep coming into the pool. And so like when it would settle, like if the filter was off and it would settle, like the water is crystal clear. But then once people would get in it, whatever sand was at the bottom, like and we kept whatever, but we just kept couldn't quite get it all up. And so now it's like literally starting from scratch. And I'm like brand new pool, sealed brand new pool, everything, brand new pool, um, you know, like the outer shell, the liner. The only thing that's not new is the filter because we replaced that last year.
SPEAKER_02That's a new filter. So you have a new filter, it's newish.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_02With the new pool, it's gonna probably work so much better because it's not working over time.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, and then it's funny because so I know this is such a side note, but I don't know if this is like a suburb thing. And the guys were here uh and they were installing it, and I came out just to ask them a question, you know, and I had offered them like water, juice, coffee throughout the day. Like, you know how I am. Like I know, well, maybe, but no. Um, I did, I did come tell him. He was like, I don't know how to swim. And I was like, Well, you could come back in the summer and I'll teach you. But um, I don't, I even if you're doing work in my house, like I can still offer you something, like whatever. And I come out and I'm like, who the fuck is he talking to? My neighbor. My neighbor is just in the yard having a conversation, and I'm like, hi. He's like, hey, how you doing? And I'm like, not the weird one I'm taking.
SPEAKER_02I'm taking the pool on the other side.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. Yeah, no, no, no. He's and and don't get me wrong, like, he's so nice, like so nice. I mean, you know, like he'll when he'll grow tomatoes, he'll hand them to me over the fence or whatever he he has, and you know, we can ask him questions when we need help with anything. Like, it was just weird to come outside and and he's just like in the yard. But mind you, whenever we have company and we have barbecues, and we're like, come over, like just come hang out, you know, we have food. And he's like, No, it's okay, you're with your family. Like, it's I don't want to interrupt, you know. But now we haven't worked, and the yard looks like a tornado passed through it, and and you're like, hey, okay. I don't know. Do people just walk into other people's yards?
SPEAKER_01So weird. So weird. Yeah, a little weird. I mean, I don't know. Like my hair. Like cut cut. Not that short.
unknownNo?
SPEAKER_01No.
SPEAKER_00You you need a little bit more short, fine, but just not like that tight to your I need I want to do something crazy, but okay. But yeah. So that that was my I was just like, okay.
SPEAKER_01I don't know. Weird. Well, maybe it comes to the next cookout now that he feels comfortable in your yard.
SPEAKER_00Well, uh but he was like, he was like, oh, you guys got a new pool, good for you. And I told him about what happened to the last one. He was like, oh well. He was like, that pool was 20, 25 years old. And I was like, oh. Oh. Okay then. Like, I'm surprised we had it at all then.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_00I didn't realize it was that old. So Oh.
SPEAKER_01Alright, yeah. That pool's older than your kids. Mm-hmm. Exactly. Yeah. Wow. But okay. So you have some good use out of it though.
SPEAKER_00I mean, we got a couple of years. I mean, it w like, you know, to look at it, it was nothing pretty. But obviously, we always make sure that the water inside was okay before we go in or let the kids in. But it is, it is gonna be nice to have like a fresh start. I'm so happy for you. And all new water too. Like my water bill is gonna be like, hey, the water company's gonna go buy a yacht after this.
SPEAKER_02I know they look for it this time of year every year, because someone's always buying a pool, you know, like refreshing, updating. There's always they're like, woohoo, pool time.
SPEAKER_00I know. Well, uh since we've been here, I just like um set it up for my bank account, like, and I just pay every other week. I just pay like a steady amount. And so I have actually a little bit of a credit with the water company. So, because every so often you get that like extra payment. You know what I mean? Like when because I get paid twice a month, but it's every other week. So every so often there's an extra. Yes. So I have a little bit of a credit. So I'm hoping that when the bill comes this time, it won't be like, okay, go get yourself a third job now.
SPEAKER_02I did that last summer. Last summer, I was pay I have it as a reminder of my phone to pay my bills. And my bills are always like two weeks early. So there's some bills I don't know what the bill's gonna be. I just like I guesstimate, like it's always gonna be so we energy. I'm like, mmm. So I paid it, didn't think anything of it. Next month, because once I paid, I leave it alone. Like I don't have to pay attention. Right. Then the next month, the bill was like double. I'm like, what the fuck? They didn't do a reading for the month before. Wow. So I'm like, if I was actually paying attention to the actual bill, I would have had like a$200 bill on my hands. Yeah. Yeah. I was just like, so glad. And that also helped when I had my surgery because I prepaid a lot of bills. I just like I paid them to the point where I didn't need to pay them or not, I was able to like not, you know, die.
SPEAKER_00Well, I feel like, and then um karma, karma kind of came back around for me because like here I am, and I'm like, okay, we're gonna be facing this huge expense, you know. But the truth is that if we just stayed like without the pool, there was a big fucking hole in the yard. So we would have to pay to have like the pavers. That would cost more. The deck, the deck would have to be removed. And so, right, like it was probably more expensive. But then I get a call from the trash company, and they're like, Oh, we're calling you about your credit. And I was like, just leave it. Like, I don't understand. Why can't I have just a credit? And they're like, Well, we don't encourage people to have a credit. And I'm like, What the fuck is the big deal? You have more of my money. Why is this a problem? And she's like, So, would you like us to send you a check? And I'm like, Well, how much is the credit? And she's like,$400 and something dollars. And I was like, Oh, yeah, send a check. I was like, Well, at least that money will go to cover like the extra water bill. So, okay, I'll take it. All right, karma. I see you. I see you. You had my back a little bit. Just a little bit.
SPEAKER_01Because they don't get money off of credits.
SPEAKER_02They don't get paid, like there's no.
SPEAKER_00I mean, I guess, like, you know, to balance their books, but I didn't realize it was so I don't look at the bills. I know I send enough to cover. That's all that matters, right? But so this is like a accumulation of like four years. And I just never look. And so I'm thinking, oh, so what? I might have a credit of like a hundred bucks or whatever by now. And she was like$430, whatever dollars. And I'm like, okay, send a check. What am I gonna do? Expeditiously. Yeah, I got it. I already got it, so whatever. But like it was just funny. Like what she told me. I was just like, oh, all right.
SPEAKER_02If you would start on the next credit, it's not any harder.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, we'll start on the next credit now. Because I haven't changed anything in my bank account. She's like, why don't you just pay the bill when it comes in? And I want to tell her, why don't you just mind your fucking business? Like you get your money every month, right? So shut the fuck up. Because it the trash, it's not a monthly bill. It's a quarterly bill, like the water. And that could be a lot. It could be a lot. No, no, the trash is always the same.
SPEAKER_02The water is the water is but like at the quarter, you're like, shit, I don't have three months, like the penny what's going on.
SPEAKER_00Right. And and and honestly, the trash isn't a lot. It's like a hundred bucks for the quarter. It's really not a lot. But but it's just easier for me to pay a little bit at a time because then I know that it's getting paid and I don't have to worry about it. But whatever.
