Hi, and welcome to this episode of Sass and Sips. Today we're talking about Good Girls, Season 2, Episode 8, Thelma and Louise. I'm Lisa, and I'm sipping on a little of the red today, because we're recording on a Sunday and it's it's Jesus juice and all that. No, water into wine.
SPEAKER_04And I'm Agnes, and I am sipping on Kalua coffee and Asscracker Dawn. Not really. It is not. It's not. It really isn't. I've been awake since pre-Asscrack.
SPEAKER_01I was gonna say, yeah, and you wake up even earlier. So it's like dinner time for you already.
SPEAKER_04I woke up late today. I woke up at six. Oh jeez. Yeah. Yeah. Usually I'm up by 4:30, 5 o'clock. Any hot takes on good girls? Belma and Louise?
SPEAKER_01Okay, this episode. It was like Yeah, it was it was almost like a tough watch because you're kind of like, all right, you guys have been friends for so long. And like I I like to see how the friendship kind of was made. And I wasn't really expecting that. I just neither was I didn't know Yeah, I didn't know how they had come to be friends, but this it's so silly, but it makes sense why they're all three friends and it's not like them friends, and then she's friends with her sister.
SPEAKER_04Yeah. And it actually gives that one minute, I think it's like a minute and 20 second scene, gives you so much insight on Beth.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. Well, and and even Annie and their whole life.
SPEAKER_04Right. It gives you so much insight on every you like got it. Got it, got it. Taken care of.
SPEAKER_01Annie has like a cast on her arm, and their relationship makes sense now.
SPEAKER_04And Beth's bothering.
SPEAKER_01I I mean by the end of the episode, I'm like, alright, come on. Like I know I know it's hard when something happens between two people who care about each other, and that could be a relationship, it could be a friendship. But clearly you guys have been through everything together. And I want them to work it out. But then I'm like at one of the scenes, like in the end, I'm like, oh my god, if you two would have just done what you had to do, it would have worked out. But no, you wanted to stay there and fight. Like you the fuck? Don't doesn't anybody watch that.
SPEAKER_04That's what pissed me off. They made so many stupid mistakes. Yeah. Everyone was stupid and was like, oh, actually, they shouldn't have got they shouldn't have gotten that far because she had a way to get it fixed. But we get to that. I mean, even worse.
SPEAKER_01Dean pissed me off.
SPEAKER_04I mean, how do you look at those two and think that that was a good idea with those two?
SPEAKER_01Not only that, but then again, Dean with his fucking audacity to act like, are you kidding me? He's like, oh, the first thing you went for was the money. She's like, yeah. Yes.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, we're okay. She checked on you. You were live, you were breathing. Next. And another opportunity for the whole fucking. I'm so mad at the writers. Right. Because they completely forgot about the cancer thing.
SPEAKER_01And they and they were only there because you brought them here. So you are as culpable. Or more so. I mean, I'm not trying to victim blame, but like you were bragging to two idiots that you just met. You don't know who the fuck they are. Two people who look really, really incompetent, and you're like, yeah, sure. Not just let me give you the money, but come to my home. Let me show you where it is. What the fuck? Dean, this is why she doesn't trust you with shit. I mean, come on. Anyway, but yeah. So many. Alright, episode's over. Yeah, that's it. We're pissed off.
SPEAKER_04That's it. We're pissed the fuck off. Watch this episode at your own risk. So Ruby is well, young Ruby. Okay, before I go on, the actors that they got to play their younger versions were amazing. Because I can see Christina Hendrix in the young girl.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. I wasn't not as impressed with her character.
SPEAKER_04I I think her facial expressions and her body, like she did a really good job. I'm like, yeah, I see it. Okay. I saw it. Um, but I was impressed.
SPEAKER_01I think maybe it was the long hair that threw me off. Well, all teenage have long hair, don't we? Yeah, well, I guess.
SPEAKER_04And this is like, hello, this is like high school in the 90s. Pre-kids. Well, let me rephrase that, pre-giving birth to kids because she's still raising Annie, you know. It starts off with young Ruby sitting on her porch, mining her own beeswax, when the crazy white chick comes slamming into practically everything on the street.
SPEAKER_01She looked like one of those um, you know, like the pinball machines. Yes. That's what the car was doing to all the trash cans and mailboxes.
SPEAKER_03When I first started learning how to drive, I was afraid that that was going to be me. Because we've seen it on TV before. Um, I was like, I don't know what I'm doing.
SPEAKER_04And typical Ruby fashion, she's just looking like non-plus.
SPEAKER_01Like, okay, so that happened. I feel like that's when you can tell somebody's upbringing. Because certain people are are better equipped to be like, I ain't getting involved than others. Um certain people are like, oh my god, let me run up and be front and center and find out everything.
SPEAKER_04And then Ruby was kind of somewhere in the middle. She's like, let me see what this is. And then we did not just.
SPEAKER_01Right.
SPEAKER_04That's what because some people would have been all in or all out. Ruby is typical Ruby. Like, let me see what this is about before I decide what's going what I'm gonna do to it.
SPEAKER_01Like, she I think she realized that it was two young women.
SPEAKER_04It wasn't a grown-up, it wasn't, you know, and I think Well, obviously, when she got to the car, she realized she goes, How old are you? It's like how old are you?
SPEAKER_01No, I know, but she but that's what I'm saying. She saw that it wasn't like even as the car drove past, I think she could see that it wasn't like a like an old man driving the car.
SPEAKER_04Well, I don't think she thought it was a teenager because she didn't ask her until she got out of the car. She goes, And how old are you? So I you know. Yeah. So she's the reason Beth was driving was because they had to go get groceries. She goes, you know, my dad, did she say her dad is gone? I don't remember now. I don't know. Something about her her mom is in bed. And then her mom is in bed, and Annie goes, with a cigarette in her hand. That's just her favorite place to be. And I was just like, okay. Um, yeah, okay, Annie. She goes, Well, I drove, like my uncle told me how to drove drive once, and that them her turn the car on was the beginning of I feel like that click of the key was the ceiling of their relationship.
SPEAKER_01Mm-hmm. And even the car was like memories, you know, with all of them like in the in the big bench seat, like yeah.
SPEAKER_04I feel like that's their and that's their normal like mo. It's always all three of them in a car just looking like, okay, what do we do now? Like, what now?
SPEAKER_01Those are the good old days when everybody could ride up front. Seatboths were a little more optional. Everyone sat in the front, yeah, you know, 40 people in a car. That's it. I mean, you know. Not gonna lie. I may have driven around Brooklyn like that with my friends.
SPEAKER_04I have no idea. I plead the fifth. No, I don't.
SPEAKER_01We didn't drive, so you weren't there because by then you had moved away. And plus, you never even invited me to your house. I wasn't gonna invite you to my car. No, I'm just kidding.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, okay. To be fair, I was never there. So that's true.
SPEAKER_01That is true. But you and I, you know, eventually, right? Eventually, we had our own adventures in the car.
SPEAKER_03Yes, and we wait up for all those years.
SPEAKER_01We did.
SPEAKER_04As a matter of fact, we need more car ventures. I know. Car ventures.
SPEAKER_01Can you car ventures? Yeah, Carvana, but venture. Yes. All right, well, can you come this way? Because there's a lot more people we can um get into trouble.
SPEAKER_04Well, we have one that we have to do here.
SPEAKER_01That's true. That is true.
SPEAKER_04There was one adventure that we have to do here.
SPEAKER_01All right, fine.
SPEAKER_04Um, you know, I think this is the end of this episode. You guys watch the episode. This is something.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, sorry. I think I have to go travel now for Carventure.
SPEAKER_04Can you imagine us doing an episode together? Oh God.
SPEAKER_03Like in the same way.
SPEAKER_01And how what would that look like? That would look like you and I in your bed with snacks. Snacks. A trade table.
SPEAKER_04Well, two trade tables, one for the one for the snacks, one for the computer.
SPEAKER_01Okay. And then about six hours later, we'd be like, oh shit, we were supposed to record an episode.
SPEAKER_04I in my head, I picture it more like in the cat. I picture it more like our first episodes when we're like it was COVID and we were just drinking bottles of wine.
SPEAKER_01We remember we did we did the promo at your place.
SPEAKER_04Yes.
SPEAKER_01Like in person.
SPEAKER_04And the sound, like that's like right.
SPEAKER_01It wasn't even a promo, it was like a trailer. Yeah. And just that stupid trailer took forever. We tr we were like, we were gonna attempt to record the first episode. We couldn't even get through the we couldn't even get through watching the episode together.
SPEAKER_04Did we even try to watch? I don't remember. I'm I don't remember trying to watch the episode. Yes. I remember ice cream and snacks and endless tacos that weren't endless.
SPEAKER_01They were not endless. There were like two. And I was like, this is nowhere near endless, but I no, we we did, we tried, but we just couldn't, we just weren't watching it.
SPEAKER_04And we were like, See, that's how much I remember. I don't remember even trying to watch it.
SPEAKER_01No, I remember I was putting it on, and we just, yeah, we just weren't watching it. So it was like fuck you forget it. Like, we're gonna have to do this another time.
SPEAKER_04Well, this time we can have snacks all through the house. Like, we don't have to be respectful other people in the house. So we can have we could do it in the living room, we can do it in the bedroom, we could do it in the dressing room.
SPEAKER_01Oh my god, we could do it everywhere.
SPEAKER_03And he went and wow, listen to us do it. Oh, I feel like this is where Alex will pop in. Like he'll just like his his spicy.
SPEAKER_01I heard somebody's doing it everywhere.
SPEAKER_03Right.
SPEAKER_04Oh, this is funny. This is typical us. Tangents. See, this is what happens when we have like adulting to do. We don't go onto tangents anymore. And we're not like jerk out our asses. Yeah. So after the clicking of the car keys, obviously it's Beth and Ruby in her kitchen and Ruby's kitchen. Um, and we knew like last week's episode that it was definitely gonna be Beth. Like who else? I mean, it was kind of obvious.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I I think that I I think that it was one of those things that was like, well, they only said her, but and like your immediate response is Beth, but I feel like sometimes it's well, it's so obvious that it can't be, but then it's sometimes it's like, but it's so obvious that while you're sitting there doing the red strings, then it's like, yeah, but it was just haha, we got you. Like, like uh double psyched out, you know?
SPEAKER_04It was so not a red string moment because I figured like leading up to that, you saw her like the pain and the suffering. You're like eyes back.
SPEAKER_01No, no, no, no, right, right, right. But the thing is, um, yeah, because the whole time that he like aside from him kind of threatening Mary Pat, he's been going after Beth.
SPEAKER_04Yeah.
SPEAKER_01So, you know, I just for me it was like, yeah, well, it seems like it's Beth, but like I guess it's not impossible that it could be Mary Pat. Because all we had was quote her.
SPEAKER_04Oh well, yeah.
SPEAKER_01So, but yeah, I mean I f I when it was the two of them, I was not surprised. I was like, okay, yeah.
SPEAKER_04I that whole scene was very painful because I saw both sides of the pain, and it's I I see it. It makes sense. Everyone's pain and sorrow and guilt all make sense in that scene. Oh, that's all I had to say about that scene. Anything about that scene? You know, it's just yeah, it's a painful scene. Feelings were hurt.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, you can see how much like this was killing Ruby. And she's lovely. Obviously obviously Beth was also feeling hurt, but you know, it's it's more the defenses. So I'm like, alright, well, as soon as you guys come down a notch, maybe you can but I'm but I was glad that at least Ruby was like approaching her on it. Now I'm not saying that what Ruby did was right. Maybe I could understand why Ruby did what she did. She had a moment, she had a momentary like she freaked out.
SPEAKER_04But it came like it came together. I really don't think, even if Jane didn't go missing, I don't think she would have turned her in. Annie is with her new fuck buddy. I don't remember his name. I don't even think I knew his name. Her manager.
SPEAKER_02Mm-hmm.
SPEAKER_04And he wants to know more about her. So she does this. Well, I was almost a nurse. She does, yeah. He goes, Well, what school do you go to? Detroit nursing school?
SPEAKER_01Like or Michigan like she might as well have just said Acme Academy, okay? Right. You know, Looney Tune University.
SPEAKER_04Um, so and honestly, that's my I was like, what do you mean you want to know about her?
SPEAKER_01But anyway, um I'm sorry, but like I know I'm not in the dating game, right? So maybe I'm completely off. But I feel like if you just meet a guy and he's like that into you, and then he's like, hey, I want to know all about you, I feel like m all of my hairs would be alert on alert, like red flag, red flag, red flag. And already you guys are dabbling in some stuff that you're not supposed to be dabbling in. So I would be even more guarded. Who I'm letting into my world, my space, whether that's physically my apartment or within bounds of my family, but definitely not to give too much of me, like the insight into who I am and what makes me tick, because the less you know, the better for me. You are correct.
SPEAKER_04I mean, I know you've been out the dating pool for a hundred years, but yeah, it's still a red flag when they want to know so much about you. And obviously, you know, I am not doing anything illegal, but it's just weird. When they want to when they want to know a lot about you, they I feel like nine times out of ten, they want to know how they can get over on you. Right. Right, they want to know how, like, oh, how can I make her want me so I can fuck her over later? Like, what buttons am I gonna push to know she was a guy that brings her flowers? Bet I'll bring her flowers. Why don't her ex-boyfriend?
SPEAKER_01Yeah, so I mean, I don't live my life very closed off. I'm I'm a very public, private person. Are you raising your hand? No, why? Oh, because the way your hand was, I wasn't sure. Oh no, I'm sorry. I was just and I like I don't really have a lot of secrets, just you know, I don't really disclose a lot of things, j like whatever. But even still, I'm not gonna meet somebody and just be like, this is my life. Even people who I know and I trust, I don't necessarily just offer up stuff. It it's and it's not because I'm not willing to share, but it's because it just sometimes like shit is irrelevant, I guess, until there's a need for it. But when people start prodding, it's kind of like, well, why are you asking? I don't know, like who sent you? Right. Yeah, what do you you want my mother's maiden name, my childhood first pet in the street I grew up on, too? I mean, what are we doing here?
SPEAKER_04Listen, by all means, people, good luck and take it over my shit.
SPEAKER_03That'd be the worst thing you ever do in your life.
SPEAKER_01I literally got an email this morning saying, Oh, here's the pin you requested to change your password. And I'm like, I did no such thing. Like, what the fuck are we doing? Here we go again.
SPEAKER_04Off topic. Did I show you my Lou Bouetton nails? What oh I did them, I did them for my birthday. Very nice. Yes, my red bottoms. The only red bottoms I'll ever have. Okay, I need everyone to listen. Just stop what you're doing. And I need you, this is totally off topic. But you need to Google Lou Buton Ballerina Heel. You can thank me later. Okay, back to our regular schedule program. Back to Good Girls. Yeah. Because right now I really want to go shopping for shoes now, but with no money. So Jimmy pulls Stan in to do a lie detector test. And surprise, surprise, Stan fails miserably.
SPEAKER_01I I was kind of suspicious of this. Because here's the thing lie detector tests are inadmissible. So they can tell you whatever they want to tell you, they can't bring it to court. So I feel like what's to stop them from saying, well, you failed just to see if you'll, you know, spill your guts?
SPEAKER_04I okay, so I know if it's not admissible in court, but isn't it enough to get a warrant, a search, or a tap, or something? It's enough for them to get further information legally. Um, but it's enough to put him on suspension. So he is suspended on leave or whatever the case may be. Yeah, so Ruby had a day that day. Her husband was suspended, she lost her best friend. She f of course she forgot to cook that day. I mean I mean considering everything that went on, I'm surprised that's the only thing she didn't get a chance to do. Dean now has his little meetup with the instructor's the instructor's friend, and they're too pissed. Little fuckers. And looking at these two, I don't care how square you are. How can you not think that these two were morons? And like, yeah, you don't inspire confidence. I would have just got up and left. Even Dean really. I mean, he I would like to think that he's just so blinded by his hatred of Rio that he wasn't thinking properly. But you would think even Dean would be like, no, this isn't working. Like, but no, he's just stupid. He's um, he can fuck up a wet dream.
SPEAKER_01That's the thing. Like, I feel like and and you know what? Maybe I'm wrong, but I feel like this is more typical a man thing, is that they just kind of rush into things without thinking, right? Like the same thing with his whole dealership. Not just with the affairs, but you were shitting all over where you eat. First of all, you don't like that's aside from cheating, I mean like where you work, where you're their boss, then you fuck up again, you you you don't think twice about Beth is like, okay, we're gonna get the dealership back on track, and instead of bringing in cars that we're gonna sell, you're like, you don't think, and you bring in all these fucking sports cars that nobody's gonna buy. It's like over and over, Dean, you gotta stop I don't know. Dean Dean just let his his ego or whatever, like and the fact that it was bruised get the best of him.
SPEAKER_04He said, What did he say? I can give you the money, I can give I can give you everything that you need. Let's just go to my house and let me just let you in. Fucking dumbass. He can fuck up a what you're doing.
SPEAKER_01It's like, yeah, it's like literally, let me show you where my wife buries her money. I mean, how do you stay alive this long if you're this moronic and trusting?
SPEAKER_04Well, he got married, so that was the way you know. I'm pretty sure if he was a single man, he would not have lived this long. It's just, and it's why men have to marry and women choose to marry. Like, even when you see Maggie have their way, we'd have to get married to save ourselves. But yeah.
SPEAKER_01Even when you look at him in uh one of the other episodes where he's like real excited because he's going on a date with his wife, and there's some chick jogs by and he crashes his car, and it's like, oh my god, Dean, how do they let you out of the house? How do you not have a chaperone all day, like a responsible adult with you? He okay, yeah.
SPEAKER_04So Beth comes home, it's quiet, she looks around, she sees Dean tied up on the floor in the kitchen, he's okay, and she goes, and she looks out, and the door to the backyard is open. Um, and then gophers had got into her house. Yeah. Best scene of this episode is Rio pissing himself. Yeah. And she goes, they took why she's like, they took everything I had. He goes, as he's still laughing, he goes, Don't worry, I handle it. And that was also the best scene and the sexiest scene because he wasn't like real the drug dealer. He was just like, Yeah, I got you. I'll take care of it. And she goes, but they're just kids. He goes, Yeah, they're just kids that know what your fucking money is. And they're just friends, they're just kids that could take over your whole fucking business. She goes, Oh, they're just stupid kids. And he goes, Well, for your sake, I hope they know how to play good, how to how to play well. And I was like, Oh, and I took it as, well, obviously the obvious, like, if they're just kids, it's just but it was I think it was also a nod to her kids and how, like, do they play well? As you said in previous episodes. I was like, oh, that's kind of funny.
SPEAKER_01But again, Rio wants to handle shit. And I understand where Beth is coming from, but Beth, this is not the playground. This is right, this is a whole new level of playground. You don't know the rules here, and you want to play by a different set of rules. And then, and he keeps telling you, like, this is how you gotta handle shit. And you keep saying, No, no, no, no, no, no, no. I know better. You know better than the guy who's been doing this, you know better than the guy who's successful.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, and she keeps getting proved wrong. So when are you gonna like let him handle it? In her she's doing a dean. She's doing the dean, but she's such a dean. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01And it's a little bit the dean to Rio, as Dean is the dean to Beth.
SPEAKER_03Except but a little bit more competent. Right. Dean is the dean of the Deans. Like he's just Yeah.
SPEAKER_04But maybe I'm reading a little bit. I'm doing a Lisa and I'm reading a lot more into it. But I figure it's like it's fun here. It's fun here. Typical white woman knows more than the minority man that's in the drip. Like, I mean, obviously. Like she knows more.
SPEAKER_01Like, yeah. Well, the only person she doesn't know more than is the white man. So Right, because she lives. Because look at Gene, look at how successful Dean is.
SPEAKER_04She allows him to fuck up time after time after time again, but gives him the benefit of knowing what he's doing.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_04And I find this comical. And like I kind of so did Rio. Yeah. And I want her, and I kind of want them to be like, I want you to fail. And because of the hubris. I'm talking about like ultimately fail, fail. Like end of show, fail. Yeah, well. Because of her hubris. Not really, but you know. But that's just me being me.
SPEAKER_01You know, spoiler alert, but they did try to do it Beth's way, and they failed. As you can see.
SPEAKER_04Oh, so funny. Well, he I I don't know why he we know why he was laughing, but I think the fact that they put her panties in his mouth real found the epitome of funny. She goes, don't say panties. Like what like they're panties. I don't know why people have such a hard time with that word. They have it in marketing. Like panties are used in they're like universal, they're panties. What do you want to call them? Undergrams.
SPEAKER_01I mean, unless they're moist panties.
SPEAKER_00People hate that word too. Why not combine them?
SPEAKER_04No, you do you know why I hate the word down? It didn't bother me before. Now it pisses me off. What word? Moist. Oh, uh-huh. Because I love you, Angie, but Angie made me read. Because we used to read together. Like, you know, not together, but you know. 50 Shades.
SPEAKER_01Ugh.
SPEAKER_04She she has never seen a thesaurus, okay? Okay. She said moist like 600 times in one in one chapter. Moist is now a word that I can't stand because that's the only word she knew how to use.
SPEAKER_01No, no, no. Don't forget. She also knew down there. Down there. In her vagina. Her pussy. I mean, as a NESM book. Like, hello. It's a BDM.
SPEAKER_04Use big girl words.
SPEAKER_01It's okay. We're doing X-rated imagery with G words. It just.
SPEAKER_04And even then, the imagery wasn't that raunchy. I was like, okay.
SPEAKER_01There was that tampon scene, and I was like, that's just violence. Okay, you know who a really good erotica is?
SPEAKER_04Anne Rice. Anne Rice's erotica series. The Sleeping Beauty series?
SPEAKER_00Okay.
SPEAKER_04Shit. I'm mad that I don't have those books anymore because when I moved, I lost 95% of my books. But anyway, what did she say to him? She goes, So when your son pisses the bed, are you gonna cap put a cap in his ass?
SPEAKER_03And Rio is still laughing at her. He's like, no, I'm not gonna put a cap in his ass. But he still finds her hysterical. And I find that hysterical.
SPEAKER_01But you see, to me, that that is such a telling, like a telling thing. Because the fact that he's standing there joking and laughing means that he can do that. Because he's no longer just barking orders, do as I say and don't fuck up. He's letting his guard down and having and and having that moment where it's like, oh my god, like are you fucking kidding me? Alright, alright, alright, alright. Like, you know, so I was like, okay, that's that that in itself is telling.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. I'm sorry, I'm still like worry about my laptop.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. Well, you know what happened. Well, the panties in Dean's mouth are definitely moist now. You know what? Men men are so like, ew, pennies, ew, moist. Um, you want moist, you you want her to have moist panties, otherwise she ain't into you. So my man, suck it up.
SPEAKER_04Offset was offset was trying to talk shit about Cardi B, and one of his comments was like, Yeah, her pussy's dry. Baby, that is not the flex you think it is. That means you were doing your job.
SPEAKER_03And every woman on the internet was like, dude, um, delete this. Because you just you just toting yourself in the worst possible way.
SPEAKER_00I know.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. So she the next thing you see, her and Annie like bringing in what's the word I'm looking for?
SPEAKER_04A container. That's not a container.
SPEAKER_01That's not the word I'm looking for, but oh, like uh, yeah, yeah, like a storage tub.
SPEAKER_04It's a container. Storage tub is what I would think I was looking for. And she's like, be careful, that's grandma's china.
SPEAKER_03She's like, and he goes, how do you get grandma's china? She goes, I'll tell you how I got grandma's china. Someone had was given grandma's, what was it, her wedding ring or something? And she took a two-day trip to the Bellagio. She goes, first of all, it was one. And then she goes, it is the flamingo.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I don't remember, I don't remember the exact wording, but I was like, yeah, okay. Shut up.
SPEAKER_03So while you're ahead. She was only one and it wasn't because the flamingo is not expensive as a bellagio.
SPEAKER_01So it was one day at the flamingo. So you know. I mean, it's like the difference between like a motel six and like I don't know what's a fancy hotel. Like what? In a fancy hotel. In a dublin, whatever. You can stay at a for the same amount of time, you could spend a week at the flamingo, whereas that would only cover like a day at the Bellagio. Correct. It's it's kind of like that. Like you you don't confuse the two.
SPEAKER_04But it was Vegas. I guess when you're in Detroit, Vegas is Vegas.
SPEAKER_01Vegas is Vegas, but Bellagio is still not the flamingo. I know that. You know that. I've been to Vegas a few times. I'm I'm more of the money of I can't I got flamingo money. I don't got Bellagio money. I've stayed at the Sahara, I've stayed at Caesars. No, did I stay at Caesars? I stayed at a hotel that's not even there anymore. Um Well, well, the Vegas is always reinforced. I stayed at the Stratosphere. And oh, what the fuck was the hotel? Actually, I got I got my wedding rings at Caesars. Nice. Yeah. Um It was like a little Japanese place. Oh man. And we did karaoke. And I sang I touch myself. And it was really fun.
SPEAKER_04The singing of touching yourself. She's like, boom.
SPEAKER_01Somebody came up on stage and put money in my shirt. And Alex is like, yeah, yeah, good more. I know.
SPEAKER_03I already know Alex's reaction.
SPEAKER_01Oh man, I can't. Now it's gonna bother me. Okay, go ahead. Texas, if you remember that hotel. Two for Tuesdays. T uh TJ's. Oh shit. Okay, sorry.
SPEAKER_04Um so Beth decided. So next thing you don't have Beth. You have Mom Beth, as opposed to red blood diamond bath, drug bath, counterfeit bath. This is Mom Beth. And she's gentle parenting the guy, the boys. And that didn't go over too well. No. Like, are you kidding me, but um I was like, you look so familiar. I the whole thing, that scene pissed me out. I wanted to turn the episode off because I was like, this is annoying, this is stupid. And they recognize her from her commercials. They're like, okay, let's just go to the cops. She's like, okay, let's go. I'm taking to the cops. And they played the tape that they recorded, Dean hiring them. Yeah. I would have been like, okay. What you're doing is illegal. Right. I'm like, what you're doing, you got your money illegally. So you obviously have to get your money back illegally. There's no, but yeah, but she knows better. And the guy's like, give us a car. So Beth is like, okay, fine, we'll give you the car. I was just like, so you lost your money and you're giving them a car. Ruby is now with Jimmy, quote unquote, giving Beth up. And she goes, Are you gonna go easy on her? He said, No, but you have your husband back. She goes, You promise? He goes, You want me to take a lie detector test? And I was just like, oh!
SPEAKER_03That was cold.
SPEAKER_04Too soon? Yeah. Never too soon for a good burn. I'm sorry. It flashes back to young Beth and Ruby, and they're sitting on a bench with donuts in their hand. I feel like donuts is their dick is their thing. We have alcohol, they have donuts. And they're watching Annie Annie playing with the kids and being Annie. And Annie's about 10, right? I would guess, or younger.
SPEAKER_01I mean, I was thinking maybe more like 12. 12? Only because she's I know she's tiny, but she's playing with the tiny too. I know, but I I took it like she's doing that because she wants to take advantage. Remember, she was like, oh, she charges a dollar to jump off the porch. 50 cents. Oh, yeah. Yeah, she charges 50 cents. Or yeah. So it's it was kind of like I got the impression that she was taking advantage of the smaller kids.
SPEAKER_04I just think Annie was taking advantage of everyone who was stupid.
SPEAKER_01Okay.
SPEAKER_04I mean, yeah, I don't know. Either way, but she um Ruby goes, Ask her, like Actually, hold on a second.
SPEAKER_01Um, so if if Annie had her as a seni Sadie as a senior in high school, right? She had her at like 17 or 18.
SPEAKER_03Okay.
SPEAKER_01And Sadie is how old?
SPEAKER_04Like 15? They don't even say.
SPEAKER_01So that would make Annie about 31.
SPEAKER_04Okay.
SPEAKER_0131, 32. And how how m which is what is the age difference of Beth? They never say. They never say. Okay, so my math just doesn't matter. Got it. Yeah. Okay, continue.
SPEAKER_04Um when Beth is telling Ruby, like, you know, talking about Annie and her little hustle. Because Ruby asks her, like, does she have game? She's like, she has the kids in the neighborhood thinking they they can fly. The way she says it, there's a sense of pride in that. I saw. I felt. Maybe it's just me being, you know. And they're talking, and you comes, it comes to find out they're actually because Beth asks her, Do you want to go inside? She's like, No, not yet. And Beth goes, Well, he was your father. And then they pan over to the entrance of a funeral home. So you realize afterwards that it's her fat Beth, no, Ruby's father's funeral. Yeah. So another example of how close they they've been through a lot together.
SPEAKER_01I mean, you could see, right? Like clearly, this is a friendship that's been like two decades.
SPEAKER_0425 years.
SPEAKER_01You know, give or take.
SPEAKER_04Yeah. 25, 28 years, yeah. So, well, if they're about fit okay, here's how good math. Beth didn't have her license. So Beth had to be like, let's say 14 or 15.
SPEAKER_01Well, okay, here. Hold on, hold on. Beth makes a comment later that she's like, oh, a senior axed her out. And she's like, We don't know how we don't know how long.
SPEAKER_04We just know that she's not a senior. Right. We don't know how long between them first meeting and that situation.
SPEAKER_01Well, they they look similar. So I can't imagine it's more than like a year or two at most.
SPEAKER_04So so they're about so her driving, she didn't have her license, she couldn't drive. Let's say she's like 14, 15. Let's say 15. And they were friends, she said 25 years, or did she say 28 years? She said 25 years? I don't know. So she's about they're about 40 now.
SPEAKER_01I mean, if she if she's 45, then that would be 15. 25 and 15? That would be 20.
SPEAKER_04I'm sorry, she's 40, then it would be 15. I said 40, right. So that's what I said.
SPEAKER_00Okay.
SPEAKER_04So anyway, back to the show. So Beth is walking out to um handle business, and Dean is in the corner drinking. And he goes, Where are you going? She goes, to get my money back. He goes, he's ruining our lives. And she goes, You're not making it any better. He's uh he was hurt that she didn't. He goes, the first thing you did when you came here was check on your money. She goes, Well, the kids are with them with your mom, so I knew they were fine. He goes, I'm not talking about the kids. And this would have been a perfect opportunity for the writers to remember that they wrote about the fake cancer. Because they went from it's one thing of her not saying anything, it's another thing about him not continuing on with it. Like they completely forgot about the cancer completely, and that really pisses me off. Annie's in the parking, is in the car and a parking lot with her do fuck, buddy. And she's just trying to get the D. And he wants to know all about her. First of all, like I said earlier, nobody they don't care about you to know that they want to know all about you. They don't care. He goes, she goes, well, I thought we'd just do some pregaming and then I'll come back. And then he goes, Well, who's the actual game? Which is funny. She goes, I have to do something with my sister. And then we come back and finish up. And then so wait, the some of the stories that she's telling him about the dolphins and everything. And he goes, So where was Sadie through all of this? And she goes, right there on that surfboard with me. And speaking of which, she gets that call. She gets a call, and initially, I'm like, okay, it's Beth, maybe Ruby, somebody. No, it was Sadie calling for help because Nancy is in labor. And I'm like, oh look, Lisa. She's in her little her waiting pool, and she she was very calm doing like I feel Nancy or Sadie. Considering like she's going through labor, she's going through all this drama, she sees Annie, and she let her have it, but she was still real chill about it. I would have probably been in handcuffs on my way to jail after giving birth. You know what I mean? If it was just me. Her new fuck buddy hears all this commotion. And Sadies is like, yeah, you handle this. I gotta go. Yeah. She goes, I want to take an Uber. And he's like, would it be weird if I shared her Uber? She's like, yes, that would be very weird. She's like, just wait outside. Yeah, weird.
SPEAKER_01And I'm sorry, but like, not for nothing. You you fucked first and then saw later, right? You've spent like two nights with this guy, and all of a sudden he wants to tag along to your ex's estrange wife birth. No. No, no, no. Most guys.
SPEAKER_04I would have been like, dude, get an Uber, I'll meet you later.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, right.
SPEAKER_04So Annie, not Annie, Beth is on the phone, is in the car waiting for Annie, and she's like, but I can't do this by myself. She goes, Don't worry, I got you too covered. And here comes Ruby. She's like, fuck. Like, come on, what else is gonna happen? So they are Beth. Annie sends Ruby to help Beth carry the money out. And they show up to the kids' party, and there's all these people in there, and they're like, all right, everyone out. And Ruby goes, She's his mom. And she goes, You're PJ's mom? Yeah, that's PJ's mom. She's like, all right, everyone get out. She's like, all right, everyone get out. She's like, well, I'm gonna go take a shower. And so that's the opportunity to go look for stuff.
SPEAKER_01So when Annie was a little bit more. And how long did you think that shower was gonna last though? Right. That's forever. Right. Like she was gonna be like, okay, I'm gonna go take a shower. Now is your time to do what you need to do and get the fuck out.
SPEAKER_04It was kind of weird when they had went back to Annie, and when she left the house, dude was still there. I was like, okay, he still likes you. There's something wrong with him. But that's just my opinion.
SPEAKER_01Well, she's like, when Sadie leaves, the guy is like, oh, you think I can cat? And she's like, no, that's weird. And I I'm like, okay, yeah, because you you don't know this guy. Don't put him in a confined space with your child. And Annie stays, Annie helps her through labor, and she's like not dilating. And the first of all, I have to say this, right? Every fucking time that they show like a less intervened birth on TV in a movie. And when I say less intervened, I'm talking about a natural birth. One that doesn't take place in the hospital with machines and high-tech everything, right? Where the woman is actually in charge and has agency over her body and they follow her lead. They always make it seem like it's so fun. They're like, oh, and her name is Harvest. I'm a fucking doula. My name is Lisa, and I'll fuck your ass up if you cross me. But don't get me wrong. I still know how to get that baby out. I mean, like, I had a home birth. It's not just because you're all like, oh my, and you want to harvest, and it's like, oh, the patchouli, because it's always like, oh, and then they smell like patchouli. I don't smell like patchouli, okay? It fucking drives me crazy. I get, I guess for me, it's like when you see somebody holding a gun the wrong way.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, I know. I don't when I saw this and I knew I'm like, this is gonna piss Lisa off. It is, it does. Have I ever had a home birth? No, but I'm aware enough of the stereotypes and the stupid stigma and the bullshit. I'm like, Lisa's going to lose her shit.
SPEAKER_01And and first of all, doula's our emotional and educational support. We do not actually do any kind of medicine or make decisions or anything. We provide information so that the mother, the family, right, has all the information that they need to make their informed decisions. We we guide, we don't decide. So I'm like, okay, so she's a doula, she a midwife, because if she's a doula, she should not be birthing that baby unless it was like a sheer emergency that the midwife couldn't get to them in time. And then even in that case, but anyway, I digress. The birth itself.
SPEAKER_04They're not gonna know the difference between a doula and a midwife. So they to them, in the writer's mind, it's interchangeable.
unknownRight.
SPEAKER_01But they don't taste enough to do the research. It takes all of a six-second Google search. But with that being said, I will say that the Yeah. I mean, the rest of it was not so bad, right? Because she was like, you know, if you're not progressing, we do have to move you, which of course, because that's that's part of having a home birth, is knowing how to read the woman's body and know when this is going from this might get tricky to we need to get you to the hospital because we it's it's just a state of fact, right? You're not equipped to deal with certain emergencies in the home. Some yes, some no. But then when Annie was like making her angry, she started to progress. And the the whoever, the attendant back there, is like, come on, keep going, keep going, keep going. And so Annie is telling her shit to make her mad. And I was like, I fucking love this though. Like, because that part, right? As stupid as it was, that part was it rang true for me because the attendant's only goal is to help Nancy along. And so when that was working, it was like, yes, keep doing it, keep doing it because it's working. So and then Annie at one point, she was like, she took off her shoes and she got in, and I was like, okay, not too mad at that, but like, my god, take off your fucking pants and your shirt. Like, there's nothing worse than wet jeans. Well, then maybe wet socks, but oh we had company here yesterday. That's it.
SPEAKER_04I'm about to go home now.
SPEAKER_01I know we had company here yesterday, and we went out on the deck, and she had she was barefoot, and then she's like, oh shoot, I didn't realize it was wet out here. And I was like, let me just get you a clean pair of socks. She was like, Oh my god, thank you. And she was like, No, but I don't want to bother you. I was like, then at least let me put your socks in the dryer. Like, and she was like, Oh, thank you. I was like, there's nothing worse than wet socks. Like, ew. Except maybe wet beans. Rand's over. You may proceed.
SPEAKER_04I um, yeah. So doing before they she had told him to when Sadie left just to wait for outside. And of course, the whole birthing thing happened. So I'm sure it was more than just five minutes. So, like hours later, you know what I mean? She comes out and he's still there. And he was like, What the fuck are you doing? Another red flag. Like, who sits there for hours? Right. Like, no one call a cab, go home.
SPEAKER_01But like you that much, not right. There was Uber. You could have called.
SPEAKER_04So back to um them wanting to have their moment, Annie. No, back to Beth and Ruby want to have their moment because neither one like Beth didn't want to leave out first, the place she was being set up, and she didn't want Ruby to leave out first in case she was gonna get her assigned. So we're gonna do this now. And they did it, it happened. And yeah, the girl comes out with a fucking gun with a picture of PJ and his actual mom. She's like, okay, now you can leave. And I was so so upset at them for being so stupid.
SPEAKER_01I know, because they stood there and argued because they're like, no, you go through the door first. No, is this a trap? And then she's like, but afterwards she was like, I told you I didn't look old enough to be his mom.
SPEAKER_03Okay, I I would have said that too. I mean, you know, because I was like, oh, I'm Beth and Lisa's Ruby in the situation.
SPEAKER_04They set up Jimmy to find the boys of the quote with the stolen merchandise. Right. Because Annie had reported stolen for the insurance purposes.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, and then here's the thing like you're seeing it from like Agent Turner is kind of like on a stakeout, and it's like, yes, and then you're kind of seeing bits and pieces of like Ruby and Beth, and they're like, You did it, yes, as we discussed. And then and then there's the whole thing about are you going outside? Is it a setup? Is it a trap? And you see them kind of like outside, and you're like, oh fuck, you know, are they really out? It's the same kind of thing with the doors with Boomer and Mary Pat and you know, like the hotel. So it's like one of those again. But yeah.
SPEAKER_04And this keys in another flashback. Um, Ruby and Beth were supposed to, they're making plans to go to watch a movie on prom the night of prom. And Beth was asked to go to the prom. She's like, Oh, well, I want to go to the prom. And Ruby's like, well, I don't have anything to wear. She goes, Well, I was asked, you know, by a senior. And she's like, Oh, a senior. And Ruby's honestly very happy for her. She's like, Yeah, his father owns the car dealership. I was just like, Oh, this is the beginning of the end. She goes, No, but we can still go to some movies. Ruby goes, No, I'll be busy. And Beth was like, What? She was like, Well, not going to the movies, but and that's what they he goes, she goes, I hate you. And Ruby goes, I hate your face. And I was like, Oh, I love that. We didn't need something like that, Lisa. Oh, I just say fuck you. And give you the figure. And you laugh at me. Also, the one of the most beautiful scenes, I think, in this episode, the season, and maybe the series, I don't remember. When Annie comes home, Sadie's still up waiting for her, and they're talking about the birth, and she's like, You smell. She was like, I know. Um, she goes, Yeah, we'll go take a shower. She's like, she's like, but it's a boy. And then Sadie goes, So am I. And I was just like, Oh, and it was a beautiful moment for several reasons for Sadie being able to speak her truth and live in her truth and like be comfortable, like this is where I'm at now. And also, it was the beginning of them getting back together as a mother and son. And I've been calling Sadie her son for a while now, so I don't. But um, oh, something I forgot to add at the season finale for season one, and I meant to add it, like I was part of my nose, but I just never did. Sadie's character with Britain was supposed to be a boy. The actress, actor, at the time, that actress who got the part, they're like, okay, we can rewrite it for a girl, that's fine. But she was already going through her transition. So they're like, okay, great. We'll write it as a girl transitioning to a boy. So I so I thought that was kind of cool how when they hired her, it wasn't the like, like, all right, fine, it could be a girl, it's fine, you know. It just how how they able to work it out to fit the actor in real life. It was a really, and they wrote that, they wrote her trend, they wrote his transition into the show. So I thought, so that's a little piece of information, little behind the scenes info. So they had their healing moments, and and of course, she gets in the bed with her him, and she goes, she like you say, he goes, Oh, you smell, and she rubs, she's like, Meet your baby brother. She's rubbing like all the shit from the birth thing all over. And here's the scene that we've all been waiting for. Jimmy is, you know, in the FBI break room, and he's like, What kind of sauce do you want? And he's like at the jalapeno, whatever, the hottest one. But you don't see and you don't see who he's talking to. He won't see who he's talking to, and then eventually it pans over to surprise Annie's fuck buddy slash manager. Like, who fucking didn't see that coming? I we all saw that coming. We all saw that coming.
SPEAKER_01And honestly, so I have to say, I guess, even MAGA can't be that blind. Even they could have seen that, and they couldn't see a lot. Still can't.
SPEAKER_04I haven't seen this since it first aired. Like, so I yes, I've seen it, but at the same time, I don't remember much. I remember broad strokes. And I'm sitting there like, yeah, even I I didn't even remember I forgot that he was an FBI agent.
SPEAKER_01Okay, I haven't seen this, and I was And you still knew. No, he's definitely no, no, no, no, no, no. He's suspicious. And even if he wasn't, Annie, what the fuck are you doing? Like, you are you should be smarter than this. You're a card-carrying woman. How can you not see through the bullshit? Right. But I think she was so focused on getting the D.
SPEAKER_04She was just like, I'm not sure.
SPEAKER_01Listen, that's fine, but then don't care about it.
SPEAKER_04She wasn't thinking.
SPEAKER_01She didn't, she wasn't thinking. You you can get the D. You get it in the stock room. You can get it in his car. You don't get it in your car. You don't get it in your home. You don't get it in Nancy's home while she's having a baby. Like, I mean, I know they didn't, but you know what I mean.
SPEAKER_04She like she wasn't thinking, she hasn't been thinking. She's not a thinking person. Obviously not. She's not a big, she's not a big per a big picture person. Nope. Um, so after the failed attempt to get their money back, Beth comes home and this is extremely quiet. She's going through the house. And long story short, Dean took the kids and left her.
SPEAKER_01Unpopular opinion. I feel like she should have been like, oh, thank God.
unknownSame.
SPEAKER_01Same.
SPEAKER_04Um I mean the kids. No, but yeah. I'm glad they only took one episode for like the ripped, like the Beth and Ruby issue. Because at the end of this episode, it's three of them together drinking, sitting, watching, looking at the gopher holes throughout her yard. Yeah. And so yeah, that was the end of this episode. I have no hot takes except for that they did stupid shit.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. Yeah. So I don't have any hot takes either. I just want to see how next episode they're gonna fuck it up even worse.
SPEAKER_02Seriously. You know.
SPEAKER_01But uh also if you Imperial Palace! That was the hotel. Okay, I'm so glad. I was like Imperial Palace. I don't think it's there anymore.
SPEAKER_03Got up and calls and personal. I thought you would come through the z come through the zoom. I was just like and your eyes are crossed now. Now you're scared. Like the chick in the ring.
SPEAKER_01Oh hold on, let me take my hair out and get uh get wet, get moist for you.
SPEAKER_04Okay, so I had uh I'm in the midst of an existential crisis. So getting ready for work the other day. I thought to get out of the shower, I go into my dressing room, I start getting ready, you know, lotion, and and as I'm massaging my chest of my serum, I noticed a wrinkle, like the chest wrinkle. I'm like, fuck. And I'm just you can't see it was kind of the chest wrinkles out. I was like, fuck. And I very I take special care and not only moisturizing and using the serums and the face, but my neck and my chest. Because that's eight, that shows you're aged, but if you're not paying attention.
SPEAKER_01And when I looked, I was like, and you I believe that because you're you're higher maintenance than I am. I mean, I get in the shower, I wash, I get out, and then it's like if I remember to put some lotion on, and it's usually like my legs, especially. Then I'm like, okay. In the morning, I might put like face cream on, and then if there's extra, I'll rub it down my neck. But I'm like, maybe I'll put some on my hands. It's like, you know, wash and go. What more do I need? I am cave woman.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, I I am cave woman.
SPEAKER_04She's like, she doesn't shave, she doesn't do any of that stuff.
SPEAKER_03I do sometimes. I'm just junking.
SPEAKER_04Listen, I can go a whole season without shaving, and then the hairs on my legs are so fine, you're like, oh, that's like what, a a couple weeks? No, that's like three, six months. It's fine.
SPEAKER_01Below the knee. If I don't shave below the knee, it's like a porcupine. Above the knee, not so much, but below the knee. Thank God Alex just doesn't care. He's just like, yeah, I don't know. I am so blessed. If I was like men from 70s, cave woman, he wouldn't care. Porn bomb should go, wow, wow. She said cave woman, I said porn. Parting the bush like the red sea, you know, like okay, I'm gonna find it in no.
SPEAKER_04No. I have I just remembered yesterday that I have uh oh I have my annual appointment on Monday, and I'm like, fuck, I gotta shave. And I don't mean like like getting ready to get laid shave, but I need her to be able to find it without any problems, kind of shave. You know what I mean?
unknownFuck.
SPEAKER_04So I'm like, wait, let me trim first and then let me shave is bad. No, it wasn't that bad. It was bad. It was not bad. Um so yeah, that was it for good girls.
unknownYes.
SPEAKER_04Season two, episode the them and Louise.
SPEAKER_01I don't know, whatever. And then text us for stuff. What the fuck is that gun? Please tell us. Please yesterday, I'm like, where the fuck do I live? Yesterday I was driving to take a Maris to work, and off the side of the road, there's like just a car, but there's it's like there's stuff on the side, but there's a lot of like wooded areas, and these guys are just like have their car all the way on the side of the road, like on the grass, and they're like wearing this full hunting shit. And I'm like, Yeah, like my house is two blocks from here. Why are you the fuck are you hunting? And like, what happens when a stray bullet hits the cars on this road that's or a kid? People, it's two well, two lanes on each side, and people are doing like 50, 60 miles an hour. Like, this is not where you should be hunting. There's like a hospital, I guess. They're like, okay, well, if we hit somebody, the hospital's right there. Like, it's not a deserted area. There's like while we're not.
SPEAKER_04Like, not all areas are you allowed to hunt. Yeah, I don't know. If it's that close to residential, I'm 95% sure they're not allowed to be shooting back there anyway.
SPEAKER_01He sure looked like he was going hunting. It was two of them, and one had like full camel on. They were like at the trunk of the, you know, like the like whatever the SUV was, they were in the back getting shit or putting shit out. I don't know. Like I drove by fast, obviously, but anyway. Uh, text us and don't drink and drive, drink responsibly. Visit us at assassinsips.com. And until next time, I'm Lisa. And I'm Agnes. And don't go hunting around my house because we're out of here. See a little bye. Hi, and welcome to this episode of Assassin's Sips. Today we're talking about good girls.
unknownUh huh.
SPEAKER_02Here's good girls.
SPEAKER_01No, Siri. Fuck. Nobody was talking to you. Alright, let me do that again.
SPEAKER_03I think you should leave it.
SPEAKER_01Take two.
