Hi, and welcome to this episode of Sass and Sips. Today we're talking about good girls, season four, episode 15, We're Even. I'm Lisa, and I'm I'm actually sipping on coffee today. Cause we're recording on a Saturday morning instead of a Sunday, so no Jesus juice.
SPEAKER_00So wondering where the different day was going with that, like Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Also, I I went to bed late last night, so sleepy ahead.
SPEAKER_00Hi, sheepy. I went to bed early and woke up early, ran some errands, and I'm home recording with you lovely folks.
SPEAKER_02Yay! And my coffee has vanilla and cinnamon in it.
SPEAKER_00Ooh.
SPEAKER_02Yes, it's very cozy.
SPEAKER_00Sorry.
SPEAKER_02Okay.
SPEAKER_00It's so funny. It's cozy. Okay. It's cozy. Your coffee. Her coffee is cozy. Okay. I'm your co-host, Agnes, and I'm just drinking water. And I'm on a stupid cleanse, and I hate the world. Thank you for coming to our show. Yeah. Um, a little bit of information. This episode and the season and the series finale air together.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, I was just gonna bring that up. Because even though when I watched the episode, it didn't feel like completed for episode. Yeah, right. That was like I couldn't think of the word. Like I was like finished, but that just didn't sound right in my head. But yeah, it just seemed like wait, that was the end. So now I get it. Yes. So this is actually the oh, so this is like the penultimate episode, basically, because the next one is the last one. But I guess since they probably since they aired together maybe yeah. But I guess whatever. It's too late now. We're breaking them up. Okay.
SPEAKER_00Just come back next week and we'll do it all over again for you. Did we check to see if this remember last season, episode six, or was it this season? What episode six was supposed to be last season, season finale, and we always say the season finale they have a gun. Did we ever check? No, I forgot. Alright, while I have it up, let me see if I have if I can look at my notes. You know. Grandma loves Grishroom. Oh, did she have a gun? I feel like she might have.
SPEAKER_02Oh, well, maybe the the episode was that the episode. No, the banker. The banker she had a gun. I think that was might have been the one before it.
SPEAKER_00Let me see. It might right. I don't know. I remember it's supposed to be one episode. The banker episode five. And she had a gun in her hand.
SPEAKER_02And she had a gun. She had a gun the whole fucking episode. But she didn't use it.
unknownAgain.
SPEAKER_00But she didn't use the other ones either. But yes, it's Well, she did use the one on uh on Rio. On Rio. So it is true. Every season finale, she has a gun in her hand. So let's see what happens next episode. Uh-oh. Maybe we should have two by it being a series finale. Um. Maybe.
SPEAKER_02They'll all they'll all be um armed.
SPEAKER_00And they take a photo. A f a photo. A photo. I was a picture in the photo. A photo. For the Christmas cards. Any hot takes other than it is seemed finished to you?
SPEAKER_03Um, I don't know. I think Annie was a little sloppy. Yeah. And Vance's spiral. I mean, who didn't see that coming?
SPEAKER_02But like, my god, little man, can you just grow up instead of throwing a temper tantrum?
SPEAKER_00And taking it out on everyone else? Like take care of your own house. Take care of yourself. Go see therapy.
SPEAKER_02I don't blame him for ripping the game out of the wall.
SPEAKER_00No, no, no, no. That was necessary. I'm talking about blaming other people, meaning like other women and women's. That's what I mean. I don't mean like his family needed that. Talk about like everyone else.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. Absolutely. No, just get out, grow up, get out, go to therapy. I don't know.
SPEAKER_00Live in therapy at this point. Like he he needs like in-house counseling.
SPEAKER_02Like, have you have you seen those um the boot camps to turn you into an alpha male? Yes. And and they're like $20,000 or $15,000. Some I don't know how much they are. I don't need one. Um, also, I'm not a male. But and then they're like long weekends where they they're supposedly run by like these ex-army or military people and they put you through hell with like the cold and the hot and the strenuous activity all to turn you into men. Bro, for $15,000, just go get yourself a fucking therapy and a good book. I mean, that's a down payment on a house. House. Go live your best life. Like, take a fucking vacation and relax a little bit. You don't need all this bullshit. You just need to become right with yourself, my friend.
SPEAKER_00But you see, you have to understand if you go to therapy, if they go to therapy, they would have to take ownership of what they need to work on. And they don't think they need to work on anything. Right. Well, and and that's true. They rather pay $15,000, $20,000 on playing big guy than actually working on becoming a big guy.
SPEAKER_02I think you just told the truth because I think that for these kinds of people, because it's not just men, it's usually men, but it's not just men. But I think that for these kinds of people, having like getting hosed down and sand thrown in your face is still easier to to um to reconcile than to realize that you're the problem. And to to face your own demons, because that's a lot scarier, but society has failed. Anyway. But yeah, Vance Vance would have been signing up for one of those things. To show he's a man and come home and beat his woman.
SPEAKER_00I think his wife would have been his ass. Excuse me. His wife would just beat him.
SPEAKER_02No, she definitely would have. She like standing there like, you're not you're not slicing those small enough. I mean, I wouldn't be her friend, but absolutely not.
SPEAKER_00And then he also goes to the people treat you the way you allow them to treat you. True. That is true. And I'm not saying that's the end all and be all. There's a lot that goes into it, but that's the step one.
SPEAKER_02Step one is boundaries. Boundaries. Like, no, you you're not allowed to treat me like this. And if you insist on it, well then I leave. I'm sure she didn't wake up 15 years into the relationship and just start behaving like that.
SPEAKER_00No. Yeah. That's just who she is. Yeah. And that's who you marry. So that's another one. You chose that person. You chose this person. Yeah. Yep. And even if they decided to change and even if they did switch up on you, you could choose to leave.
SPEAKER_02But you can have a conversation and say, hey, I don't I don't like the way our marriage is. You're a bully. Yeah, you're a grown-up. Use your grown-up words. But I don't have any other I don't think I have anything else. Any other hot takes.
SPEAKER_03Okay, I had to get that yawn out. I'm sorry.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, I have a question because I was just thinking about the fact that they aired at the same time, but the episodes, it's not like part one and part two. The episodes have two different titles.
SPEAKER_00So they weren't I think they were like they were they weren't aired as one episode just two separate back to back, if that makes yeah.
SPEAKER_02Okay, that makes sense.
SPEAKER_00Okay. Or maybe like it wasn't like a two-hour episode. It was Okay.
SPEAKER_02But maybe then again, like maybe they just know that they knew that they were fine. So like they're airing together, but then later on, once they go into syndicate streaming or whatever so they separate separated them officially.
SPEAKER_00Maybe your internet connection is bad. You know the only spot you had a metric capable the only spot you had really good internet was in your bed.
SPEAKER_02Which is three feet away.
unknownI don't know.
SPEAKER_00But that was the only time we never had any problems. You know that, right?
SPEAKER_03I know. Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Okay. Well, okay, let's get into this episode. So while the computer is behaving itself. So today's episode that we're talking about of Good Girls, we're even. The episode starts off with Vance, and he's home with his wife, and she wants to celebrate. First of all, they're like, You gotta go to school. He's like, Yeah, I'm not going to school. She's like, Why? He goes, It's my half birthday. That's not a thing. He goes, Well, mom said I can. She's like, Yeah, it's fine. She goes, just give him a half a gift.
SPEAKER_02I mean, that's fine. You can have a thing like that, but maybe don't miss a math test or school because it's your half birthday.
SPEAKER_00And maybe and this, I don't know. The whole it's a whole big problem.
SPEAKER_02Like, go to school and learn that your half birthday isn't a thing.
SPEAKER_00Because clearly the whole not communicate with her husband, disregarding him in front of the kid. Right.
SPEAKER_02She was very like blowing him off. Like he's over there being like, kid, get off the video games, it's time for school, like this and that. And she's just standing there, I don't know what she was doing, like on the phone or something. And she's like, No, it's okay. I could I told him he could. And he's like, Well, could you tell me? And yeah, but like just really fucking blowing him off, which is so disrespectful, you know, and especially in front of your kid. Like, that was one rule that we always had, like, even with my mom, because my mom is really good at like, you know, when you tell the kids, like, no, you can't have ice cream, and then the grandparent comes and is like, come on, I'll give you ice cream. Like, even I told my mom, I was like, I know you're gonna sneak them shit. Just don't do it in front of me. Because otherwise you're totally demeaning. So, like, go ahead, sneak them the fucking candy, the ice cream, whatever it is that I said that they can't have, because I know you're gonna do it, just make it a secret so that they're not seeing you do it right in front of me. And and I'm like, God know you're gonna do it. Yeah, like and it's the same shit. Like, if one parents do the other one can't just say, oh no, that's fine. Because you're totally undermining the other parent, which is what his whole life is, apparently. Which it sucks, like it it it's not a good place to be, I can imagine. I wouldn't like it.
SPEAKER_00I'm sorry, I'm trying my best in between trying to like follow your track in between the glitches. Oh my god! Like right now is fine, but if I'm ever like looking at you like dumbfounded, I'm like, I think I know what she said. Wait.
SPEAKER_02Let's try to move closer to the bed.
SPEAKER_03Look, you can see my bed now. My bed.
SPEAKER_00It might work. Um try. After the hellish day at home, he goes to work and he has the same problem with his co-worker. Is this the coffee scene? You know, does it have the coffee scene happen later? This is the coffee scene. So she does, she she brings coffee and she's like, here. She goes, This says Vanessa. She's like, It's coffee. And it has milk in it. And if she's just, she's like, it's milk, whatever. Who cares? Lactose intolerant or not. She goes, man up. I don't know what the fuck.
SPEAKER_02But she was like, Don't don't be a woman. What like how is being lactose intolerant being a woman? Like, fuck you, fuck him, fuck lactose intolerant. Fuck all of them. Fuck them all. I don't even know, fuck them all. Fuck them all right in the soy milk, okay?
SPEAKER_00I don't know. I'm going to remember that. That was pretty damn good.
SPEAKER_02Oh, I thought you were looking at me like, what the fuck? It was both. As well, like, what the fuck? That was amazing. It was like a boat. You tell somebody that and they're gonna be like, you what? And then just throw them right off their tracks. Like, they don't even know how to insult you back. Fuck you right in the soy milk. I you know what? I give everyone permission to use it.
SPEAKER_00And in that vein, Krista was telling me, and I was like, I'm gonna try that. You know, when someone asks like an asshole in your driveway and you give them the middle finger, they just give it back, they just give it to you right back. She goes, What really gets them? You give them the thumbs down and they get angry. They're like, Oh, I usually give the thumbs up or I just wave. She's like, She's like, the reaction is pure satisfaction.
SPEAKER_02I never tried the thumbs down. Okay. Because usually, like, somebody will honk at me or whatever. So then first of all, if somebody's good job, buddy. Right. Right. If somebody tailgates me, or you honk at me, you flash your lights at me when you're behind me. I don't care how fast or slow I'm going. I promise you I will slow down more. We will, we will park our cars and we will fucking live there now. You will never ever make me go faster by honking, um, tailgating or flashing your lights at me. Bro, go around. There's other lanes. Do what you feel like you need to do. However, when they do go around and they give me the finger, that's when I usually just smile and give them a thumbs up, or I just I just give them like the real cheese smile, like, uh-huh. Because then what happens? Then the lady's gonna be like, and then the fucking bitch smiled at me and waved. Give me a thumbs up.
SPEAKER_00That was I'm gonna try the thumbs down. I had a problem with the late. This woman did that same thing to me, but that what pissed me off is that she was actually in the wrong. I was going down a okay, so it's right lane, left lane, and then a left turning lane. I'm in the left lane next to the turning lane, and I'm driving, and they are coming from like the gas station, and they just scroll over. Never mind the all are coming, and they go over to the turning lane. And I was just like, did I almost hit her? No, but I could have. I was like, I stopped. It was just that point was like, bitch, right, like harmed. I'm like, the fuck, you almost got us all killed. And then you see her and her daughter like waving high. Bitch, why? And it pissed you off more. And it pissed me off because, bitch, you were wrong.
SPEAKER_02Right, right, right. Well, it doesn't matter at that point. But then like, I was like, and it did piss me off. I was like, well, even if you're wrong, you know, no one is ever gonna say, like, oh shit, I'm sorry. You know what's ever gonna ask me.
SPEAKER_00Well, right back at you.
SPEAKER_02But then that smiling, I was just like, yeah, that hurts. That fucking hurts. I learned that trick when when I was younger, and um, like when I worked at Starbucks, and people would get so mad, like I thought some is fucking things, like it's coffee people, calm the fuck down, you know, but but like customer service, you know, and so I would just be like, and and people would curse at you or whatever, and you just smile and say thank you and walk away. And people are like, because they're looking for a fight at that point. Like, yeah, when when they're so angry and you don't give it back to them, and then they don't know what to do with themselves. So you just I learned you literally like doesn't matter what they say, oh, this is so stupid, this is so this, and then fuck this and this shit, and but and I'm saying, okay, thank you, and walk away, smile and walk away.
SPEAKER_00And it really like throws people off because now they don't know what's with your quote unquote kindness, so and oh, and gentle parenting, those bad, those adults that act like that's how is that how you speak to us? We don't speak to our friends that way, Mr. Patel. It's not nice to yell at people. No, it's not nice.
SPEAKER_02They're like, Can I also just say when I'm driving, I mean, I have a heavy foot. So if you're behind me and you're flashing, you have a problem. You have a problem because I promise if I am in the left lane, I am I am in the ticket money mode.
SPEAKER_00I'm gonna take the flip right now. I got ticket money mode when I'm in the left lane.
SPEAKER_02Yes, you too. Yep. No, I will not go faster.
SPEAKER_00So no because I'm already going 90. Back up off me. Well, in theory, hypothetically speaking. Like I mean, right. I have like I had you and your kid in my car. So I'm like, okay, I can't be going, you know, but yeah, we're pushing it. It would it's like I'm going 80, 85, good. I'm not I wanna get it together.
SPEAKER_02Even even my old girl, I push her up past 70.
SPEAKER_00Like because well, the speed limit here was 70. But we were at the end. I would go like 80, 85. I'm like, okay, that's good. Yeah, that's good, yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_02I won't get it. Well, when I was driving your car, I hit I I was like almost to 90, and I was like, oh shit, I'm going fast. You don't even feel it. You don't feel shit.
SPEAKER_03You don't feel a damn thing.
SPEAKER_02And the thing is that because I was driving your car weren't passing anybody either because it was going 90. Hey, that was the thing. Like, I didn't I was staying like in the right or the middle lane because I'm not fam obviously I'm not familiar with those roads. I'm driving a car I've never driven before, and I have my kid in the car, and I know that the speed limit is 70. So I'm keeping up with traffic, but I'm I I know who I am. Like, I'm okay. I can stay in the right lane. It's fine. We weren't like in a hurry. So I was like, cool, fine. We're just gonna take it easy. Take it easy. I looked down, I was like, I'm doing 85 fucking miles an hour. In the right lane.
SPEAKER_00Everyone else is blowing.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, yeah. And I was like, okay, maybe all right. I guess, you know, like don't I'm not moving over though, only because people, because everyone else is like this, ain't even my car. Like, I ain't moving over. I'm not, I'm not trying to do like oh shit, get the ticket, but you know, but it's easy, right?
SPEAKER_00Because everyone else is doing the same thing. You're like, oh, I would buy people. So if you get a ticket for speedy on this interstate, you have to be going 95. And even then, the cops are like, do I wanna?
SPEAKER_02I mean, aside from like a police or an emergency vehicle, like I don't even imagine like the entitlement of the person who who flashes their lights and says, You have to move out of my way because I don't like how you're driving.
SPEAKER_00I've never done that either. I've never done that either. Like, I there's this one stretch of road, like going to the airport over here. And I don't know if you remember, it's a single lane. And I I feel like it's that's this, and that's the area I always get stuck behind that the one that's going 10 below. Yeah. I'm like, oh. And then you every time you go to see if you can go past him, you're like, fuck, this car's coming. Or damn, it's a no-pass. And I'm like, fuck me. But do I pass do I flash the lights? No, no, because if that person was gonna move over, they would have already done it so they would have done so. They know you're back there. They see the whole car. They see the car is like six miles behind me. They don't care, but you just it is a car.
SPEAKER_02But I'm also the kind of person who, if I was that car, then you're going slow for whatever reason. Maybe, maybe you're having car trouble. Maybe you're transporting a four-tiered wedding cake. I don't know what you're doing in there, but you're going slow for a reason. Reason.
SPEAKER_00Or maybe the road. Most of them, it's not. They're just like they shouldn't be driving.
SPEAKER_02But if it's me, and when I know like I need to go slow for a specific reason, I am happy to pull over, let a bunch of people just go. So because I don't want you on my ass. And I also am trying to be, you know, think past myself, imagine that. Just go. It'll take three minutes for you guys to all pass me, and then I can just get back in the road and continue on about my slow ass car, you know? But when you're driving, just go around people. My God, nobody has to move out of your way because you're unhappy. Be an independent person. Do it yourself. Pull yourself up by bootstraps and go no, I don't know. I don't know. That's socialism. You want somebody to do it for you. God, it's like a handout. Could you imagine these people?
SPEAKER_03I don't know.
SPEAKER_02Anyway. Half birthdays. Half birthdays and the fuck is in this coffee. Seriously.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. You sober. That's just that's not said.
SPEAKER_02Oh, fuck you right in the soy milk.
SPEAKER_03Oh my god, I am hot. Ruby and Senna at home when there's a knock on the door.
SPEAKER_00We do sound effects now.
SPEAKER_03Oh, knock, knock, knock. Yeah, I didn't.
SPEAKER_00Oh, I didn't hear it. You didn't hear you when you're here to edits, you will.
unknownOkay.
SPEAKER_00Dean is at the door and he wants to talk to Stan. And he tells him he wants him to do something for him. And he puts a key on the table and says share a brother. Stan did Stan says he didn't know what else to do. Because he's talking about like the whole telling the other brothers to set no to protect Ruby but not do anything with whatever. My brain is shutting down. Forgive me. Dean goes, well, you know, you could have told me. Dean moves the key closer to Stan and says they would have taken Ruby down too. And that he's not the bad guy. Dean picks up his key and says they're all he has. Talking about the brothers, the bros, the pyramid bros. The key bros.
SPEAKER_02Because they groomed him. The lost. Yeah, they fucking groomed him. Instead of him getting actual help, they fucking groomed him to think that like this is what he has and this is what he has to do. And oh look, now you're in a cult. Just less than a couple of things. And they even recorded it. Didn't they even call it a cult in this episode?
SPEAKER_03I don't remember.
SPEAKER_02At the end? Might have. Okay.
SPEAKER_00I just don't remember.
SPEAKER_02When when Dean confronts advance. But we'll get there. I remember the scene, but I don't remember if I don't remember. I mean Yeah, because I just want to feel a little validated.
SPEAKER_00You wanna go find it for you? I mean, it's probably true.
SPEAKER_02I just don't re I I'm gonna find it for you because No, don't worry about it. Validation is important, damn it. Alright. Alright. Well, my feelings are valid, so even if I feel he said it, it's valid.
SPEAKER_01Okay, now I'm turning the fucking TV off.
SPEAKER_02Now you don't now we're doing mental gymnastics, but now you don't need my validity. I'm trying to support my brain feels real stretchy right now.
SPEAKER_01My brain feels stretchy. Well, lucky for you, you have one. I don't even have one. It's atrophied or some shit. I don't know. Oh my god. She laughs harder. Yeah, that's it. That's that's what she just said.
SPEAKER_03What she just said, bite me, Lisa. Words are all made up.
SPEAKER_00And you know how like they are all made up. Irregardless wasn't a word, and now it is. So boom. To be famous.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, because if people use it enough, it's a word.
SPEAKER_00But honestly, irregardless. Uh-huh. Go ahead. Irregardless, like I'm an intelligent woman, and I knew it wasn't a word back in the day. But it's just sometimes something was so irrelevant. It was irregularless because it just hit home in a whole different way.
SPEAKER_02Which is so weird because like you're taking a word and adding more to the word just to make it be the same word.
unknownRight.
SPEAKER_00But sometimes you just had to make a point. Just like, oh. And now it's just like, yeah. And you know what the funny thing is though? I've never I know it's in the dictionary now, but I've never looked up the definition to it. And I wonder what the definition is. Is it more regardless? Is it more of a I don't know. What is it like more useful? I need to know.
SPEAKER_02Someone I should say, someone should tell me, but do you think that when the um the people who first sat down to write like Webster's Merriam or Oxford English Dictionary, they were like, one day YOLO will be a word.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, one day, right? One day FOMO will be a word, and selfie, like but I don't think people understand that the words are now in the dictionary, like the words that we've known that we grew up with or generations grew up with, at one point those words were pop culture words, and it became it became words, and that's just the way language develops.
SPEAKER_02Well, just right, it's fluid. Like and I said a bad word. But language is fluid, it it develops, it's it's not a static thing.
SPEAKER_00And I think people need to realize that they're like, this is not a word, it wasn't a word like it wasn't a word and now it is. Now it is.
SPEAKER_02Guess what? 50 years ago I wasn't a person. But here I am.
SPEAKER_00You are so correct in that, Lisa.
SPEAKER_02Fifty years ago I wasn't a thing, but here I sit. I'm not 50. It's just not yet. But it's close, it's but it's uh far and it's close enough to my age, but far enough that I wasn't even a a thing yet. I didn't even think my parents were married yet at that point. Anyway. But yeah, things things change, things develop. They gel, they move, they fluid, they flow, they is there a fucking LSD in this bitch? What the hell is with me today? I've never done LSD or acid. I don't know, is that the same thing? I feel like it probably is, but I don't know. I watch intervention. I should know this stuff.
SPEAKER_00Okay. So the Oxford English dictionary.
SPEAKER_02I love how you're just ignoring me, but go ahead.
SPEAKER_00Because you're scaring me. I'm honestly, I didn't need to say anything. You weren't going you were good on your own. I was not necessary in this in that in that little skit of Lisa. Okay. What can I possibly have added to that? I don't know. Oxford English Dictionary's definition of irregardless is an adjective and an adverb. And it's actually in non-standard or humorous use regardless. And that actually makes sense. Mm-hmm. And I always wondered how they are going to define it. But I like that. I approve of that. And I pulled up the scene when the when Dean walks in. Do you want me to look at it now or towards the end when we Whatever.
unknownOkay.
SPEAKER_02You could look it up when I'm on my next rant. When I'm on my next request.
SPEAKER_00So when we get to that part of the episode, I will play it. Alright. Okay. We are only five minutes into this episode and we've been recording for two hours. Okay. Feels like it.
SPEAKER_02I have a party to go to later.
SPEAKER_00In that case, they did stuff, and then now it's the end. Bye. It's a kids' party, so we can take a little longer. Oh, okay. Annie's in bed with her roommate, and they're listening to Train. And he's like, I'm so glad that I'm dating someone that lets us to listen to Train, and Annie Annie'd and kind of freaks out a little bit. And she's like, I don't understand why we have to call it anything. It's just it's just a thing. It's just it. This is what it is. Okay, we just be.
SPEAKER_02From picking your next fuck spot, right? Like, oh, bathtub, closet. I like an adventure into really like having him lose his because you wanted to discuss what are we? Or you didn't like what he like get yours. Then think about it. He brought it up.
SPEAKER_03He brought it up.
SPEAKER_02Well, he just made a passing comment. And she should have slept in.
SPEAKER_00She should have just left it in.
SPEAKER_02She should have just left it and thought about it. And then maybe talked about it later because now you're questioning him. And then you're like, okay, but let's go. And he's like, wait, what? No. Like, what'd you what'd you think he was gonna do?
SPEAKER_00I feel that I'm mad that he's I mean, listen, and like in the afterglow of some amazing sex, if someone said that and I wasn't quite ready for it, I would have been so high on the orgasm. I'm like, yeah, yeah, yeah, sure. Sure. And then afterwards, I'm like, oh fucked. What the hell did I do?
SPEAKER_02But that was my ammo. She doesn't necessarily even have to say anything. It's she could have just said, I mean, and if you wanted to talk about it, I I encourage it. No, but I but I just feel like you wanted more, you wanted round two or whatever round it was, but then you're like um confronting him about his word choice. Like, how did you think that that was gonna put him in a good place? Right. Like that that's my point. Like, yeah, either keep your mouth shut so you can get your next round, or decide to have that conversation. You you can't get it both like do both if you're not on the same page. Page.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_00That's all a couple situations. I'm like, fuck, what did I disagree to? Fuck. Yeah. Now I gotta get rid of him.
SPEAKER_02Well, that's the thing, and then she didn't she didn't want to get rid of him either, which is the worst part of it. She didn't want to get rid of him. She just didn't want to like name it.
SPEAKER_00But But then they fix it and then she breaks it again. Well, of course she does, because she's Annie. Beth is at Nick's office when Scott, his assistant, is reading off some political facts. Nick tells her that she has a play by the rules, and then they get to have then they get to do things their way. And he shows her the map for the rec the rec center, and shh, we see her sitting beside Annie and Ruby. And she says, There's money laundering, there's bribery, extortion, extortion, all wrapped up in neighborhood rec center. Like it's this is it. So then she's talking to Phoebe and Dave. Phoebe says, that's it. Dave's like, we need a warrant. And he says, go get one. And they're like, well, we're on vacation. So we can't exactly get one. So they're like, well, do what you do. They're like, you want us to break, like commit another fucking crime? They're like, it's what you do, isn't it? Right? Right. And then you see Beth and Ruby on the kitchen talking and drinking wine, and Annie is like doing her recon and she runs in. She goes, How long was that? And she's like, five minutes. And she's dressed in the nines and her cat out like all black and she runs back out. And she did and they're still talking. And she comes back in and she's like, How long did that take? They're like, it was faster. She was you for timing me.
SPEAKER_02Like when you're looking at kids. Yeah, that was so fast. Oh my god. Parenting have timers do wonders to get kids to do shit. Okay. When you say you're gonna time them. It's like the magic word.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. I gotta get you other than the boys. So they're talking about Ruby wants to get them to do like a date, like double date, go to Chili's. And I want to go to Chili's. I can go for some of this like good old-fashioned crappy food and some alcohol. Annie, not what's her name? Beth. I said all her names before I got to the right one. Beth is not really with it. She's like, yeah. She's like, when's the last time we went out drinking and cried and laughed? And she's like, When's the last time we went out drinking? She's like, that's the point. Let's go out and have fun. So apparently they used to be all friendly. You couldn't tell. Really couldn't tell. So the girls decide they're going to go back to Nick's office late at night and steal the map. And they're going to use Annie's Vijay J. Her hoo-ha. Her hoo-ha. Oh, sorry. I love hoo-ha. Oh, you love saying hoo-ha? I love her hoo-ha. I love I love saying hoo-ha. I love my hoo-ha. Hoo-ha's are amazing. Says the the straight woman who loves hoo-ha. Snapsa. Sorry. Okay. Annie pretends to have to pee, and she gets into the building. She lets Beth in through the window and she's picking the lock. And Annie does the damn thing, let me tell you. And but it still won't open. And apparently there's a key fob thing on the side. She's like, okay, that's the YouTube video I didn't look at. The fuck. So they're like, okay, fine, we have to do this again. We'll sit back home. Ruby tells Stan, like, hey, I've made plans for us to like double date. And that didn't work. Doing the conversation with Annie and Kevin. Apparently he was still on like Bumble and Grinder and all this other shit. I don't know. No grind, let's forget. Tinder. Tinder and Bumble and all these other things. And he's getting all these hits, and she's like, Well, how is this happening? She goes, he goes, Of course, I'm a catch. She's like, Of course you are. And that was kind of a cute little moment. And he's like, I just write what I know, what my target audience wants to see. And she has a moment. And she's like, da ding. And she runs into the house with Beth and Ruby. She goes, You guys are using my hoo-ha wrong. And of course, Ruby's daughter's saying that, like, what the actual fuck? Using my hoo-ha wrong. I'm sorry. So she sets it up. So she goes on a blind date with Nick's assistant to get his key card. And she she oh.
SPEAKER_02In the scene where um holy shit. How did I just completely blank on what I was gonna say?
SPEAKER_00Was it about Kevin giving her the idea of how to add onto Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Because that in the morning he's he's making this omelet, and you know how he always feeds her? Oh, right, right, right. He's like, ooh, and I'm doing this, and it's got this. You know, she's licking her chops and and you know, rubbing her hands together, like, ooh, she looks like an evil mastermind, like getting ready to take over the fucking world and shit. And he's like, Yeah. And then he puts it in a plate in front of her and and then takes it to eat. And she's like, wait, where's mine? And he's like, Oh no, uh-uh. Like, we're not together. So no, now now it's all done for like that.
SPEAKER_00I don't know what it is, yeah.
SPEAKER_02So now she has like a really like, oh, and that's when she's like, Oh, wait, what are you doing? He's like, back on the apps, you know, like I gotta get out there somehow. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. But only because it's gonna kind of come back. Come back. But it's also like, but it's also like par for the course for Annie, you know, like where she thinks, like, okay, I'm just gonna say whatever, and she doesn't have she almost doesn't have any consideration for anyone else's feelings until they affect her. And now she's not getting breakfast out of it. Now she's not getting a meal, now she's not getting wanted, and that's like, oh wait, just was it something I said?
SPEAKER_00Yeah. Like they fix it, they have a conversation about can we not date, but we cannot not date anyone else? Like, I don't want to date, but I want to not not date. And definitely not dating, I'm not gonna not not date anyone else. So they're not not dating exclusively.
SPEAKER_02Right. And that's fine, right? Because you see how easy it was? It took five minutes and they came to a consensus. Like, all they had to do was talk about it.
SPEAKER_00And never have a conversation after sex because they can go wrong and ruin the afterglow. No. After sex is for sandwiches, pizza, you know, you know, yeah. Short-term cuddling, then maybe a round two. But I'm at the age where I'm lucky enough, I get I know what I want, they hit it right. I don't need a round two. I'm good. And it doesn't take six fucking years to get it there. So and this is how she she uses his skill set on the dating apps to zoom in on Nick's assistant because they would have spilled they want to steal the pass card. So she he's a complete like brah on the highest or the lowest level of bra-ness. And they takes negging to a whole new level. It's just really, really bad. So she steals his his past, she she does the same thing, she does the whole P thing, and the guy is like, yo, again, dude. So she breaks, you know, she gets Beth in, she goes back. Beth takes all the pictures that she needs. Dude is like, hey, I would took you, like, I went inside and you weren't there. She was like, I was talking to the valet about if I can leave my car here overnight. He's like, Word, yeah. Yeah, cool. Security guard is looking for Annie during the process of one point, like, hey, where did this chick go? Beth's taking her pictures. Ruby is the lookout, is a lookout chick, and then you see boots are walking. You're like, what the fuck is this? While the boots are walking, Annie's back on her date, and who shows up but Kevin. And there's a a Bruhaha there. We already you already know how that ended up. Bruh was like, yo, I just met her. Like, I don't know. Because she does this whole elaborate lie that that's her manager, and it's a new new uniform that he was the wear jackets now. It's a hot mess.
SPEAKER_02I know. Wednesday went outside. She could have been like, listen, I promise this is not what it looks like. I promise I'll explain later. Please just trust me.
SPEAKER_00Like, whatever. Right? That's what in my hand I would have done too. I can't get into it there. I'm not gonna do a whole big lie, but trust me, this is not what it is. And then the funny thing is, at the end, she could have came back to Kevin with a great story because as we find out, dude is you know, so she could have she could have used that. Like it turned out to be anyway. We go back to Ruby, like Annie, not Annie, Beth goes back to you, like, I got pictures, I got maps, I got this. And then also you hear the voice in the back goes, Hey Beth, because this dude uses his job to track Beth's fucking phone. Because remember, he stole it at one point, like he longed her and borrowed her from didn't get a big one.
SPEAKER_02Oh, well, yeah, but also then he just used but he used his connection at the phone level.
SPEAKER_00Remember he Yeah, but he got the information.
SPEAKER_02He just, yeah, all he did was just give like he gave his employee ID and then a name. And tried to get the information. And he and they were like, yeah, he was like, Oh, I'm I I need to track a stolen phone. And they just yeah, was like, okay, here you go.
SPEAKER_00Huh? All right. So she he knows everything. She knows everything that he's up, like his ulterior motives. And it's no bueno. Beth walks into the house, she's calm, because you know a calm woman is the scariest kind of woman. Right. Dean is watch drinking beer, watching TV, and I like the fact when she's like, How could you? And he knew right away what it was. Because like, he didn't Lisa he didn't even try to, like, what are you talking about? Like he's like, Yeah. And they have their little fight. Ruby comes home and she's like, Yeah, went out to drinks, ran to a friend of his, and she told him who. And Ruby asked, like, how you would decide how to, like, who do you decide to put a woman away? Especially considering what they've been through. So they have it out. And then she goes, Well, maybe I should cancel, I should probably cancel dinner with the Bolins at this point. Next day, Nick is in the office and he can't find the key to his filing cabinet. And obviously it's not where it's supposed to be. Scott finds it in another drawer. He's like, do me a favor. That was that was so messy, and you deserve to get caught. Like, I mad at you. That was messy slap.
SPEAKER_02But you knew exactly where the key was. Why wouldn't you put it back in the same spot?
SPEAKER_00Because she thinks she's invincible. And so he was like, Do me a favor and get me the um. Oh, before that, you find out after the situation with Kevin, she's back talking to Bruh guy, and Bruh guy is not really Bruh guy. Bruh guy is Broadway guy, and he's gay. He does this so to get his father off his back. Because she's like, how does Someone like you to be a such a good listener. He goes, Because I'm not that guy. I'm gay.
SPEAKER_02And he's and in the meantime, he's telling everybody, he's like, Yeah, your ex-husband is gay. This guy is gay, this guy's gay, this guy is gay, that guy is gay, your homeless friend, oh, he's gay.
SPEAKER_00He's into you. He's not into you. He's into you big time.
SPEAKER_02She's like, How do you know? Like, he's like, Oh, because I'm gay. And he's that's how I bate him, but yeah.
SPEAKER_00I like him. They have a really I hope they I hope they remain friends. So if she would have just did that, trust me, I'll promise you I'll tell you everything. She would have came home with a great story and be like, and it wouldn't be it wouldn't be a lie. It would be like, listen, he has a problem with his family. I'm his beard, blah, blah, blah. Mm-hmm. And I Kevin would have understood that, I think.
SPEAKER_02Especially when it wasn't like she was going out with him to go out with him. Right. It was for the perfect. She was using him. So I mean, I'm not condoning her using him, but like you wasn't cheating.
SPEAKER_00She wasn't cheating. And I'm like, oh, I don't even believe you. And I know what it was. It's always a cover-up. Axe Nixon. So Nick and his assistant, assistant is talking about his hot day. He's like, I broke that pelvis. So whatever words he used, I took whatever. And Nick was like, you go see your game. He's like, yeah, of course not. Yeah, whatever. He's playing it off, whatever. He asked his assistant, hey, ask security for a copy of the security logs. That's what it was, logs. So we already know where that is going. Later on, Nico sees Rio and shows him a picture of the selfie that the assistant took with his blind date.
SPEAKER_03Oh yeah.
SPEAKER_00Rio was dying. And he goes, You guys got played. I loved it. Mance is home and he tells us, I started playing video games. He's like, Yeah, your book report is due tomorrow. I don't understand how anyone could do a book report the night before. I was doing book reports. I don't know, but anyway.
SPEAKER_02Oh, I've I have done plenty of book reports the night before. I am a true procrastinator. Oh, okay. Um it's it sucks also. Just feel like I would still do it. In case I could prevent people from doing it, I I did many a book report, turn paper, all nighters before it was due because uh the idiot that I am was like, no, no, no, I have time, I have time, I have time. Fuck. Time to open that book. And I'm not a fast reader. I I have done e even into college, I have done many finished many an assignment hours before it was due to hand in. I'm not I'm not necessarily proud of it, but I I I I am that person.
SPEAKER_00I think everyone's that person at this point in life.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, I mean back in our day it was worse though because especially when you had to start looking up shit like encyclopedias and analog stuff, libraries, because you didn't have computers or internet, none of that shit existed, so like it was even worse. Like now I get it, you know, but but like don't wait for the last minute. It's a bad idea. You'll thank yourself if you just do it and knock it out. And I'm trying to be that person. I'm getting better. Not there yet. As we know from when I edit these episodes, usually at the last minute.
SPEAKER_00I may or may not have fallen asleep in the middle of doing one in the middle of the night. So yeah. Um the kid refuses to do it. The wife is just let first of all, she doesn't bring him his almond milk or oat milk or whatever milk that he wanted. She tells the kid he can do whatever the fuck he wants, completely undermines Vance. He loses his shit. Yeah, because that kid is like, Mom, tell your husband. Tell your husband to move. I was just like, uh, fuck you. Oh no. Fuck no. I brought you into this world, I would take you out moment. Um, tell your husband, but that's what the wife did. The wife had done that. Tell your husband to move. And that is what the culture that this wife bred with this kid. Vance loses his shit as he should, rips the game out the wall, throws it in the garbage, pour the milk that he did not want over it, and he goes, he goes, book report. No.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. I would have, I would have been doing my book report, and I don't even have one due in that moment. I would have been like, shit, let me get it. Oh, wait, let me. Wait, let me go find a book to do a report on.
SPEAKER_00I'll find a book to write a report on. Hold on. Beth is outside to see Nick, and he goes, So take a seat, and she's all confident, and he's putting files in the box, and he tells her that I want to help you, like, I want to help you. She's like, I thought you couldn't. He's like, but I have something for you. And he's like, Everything in that box is for you. But when you but when you're done, I want it back. And that's when it hits her. She goes, So what happens now? I wake up with a gun on my face, like, what's up? He was like, No, that's just gonna make it harder. You're not gonna get off that easy. We have a lot of work to do. And at the same time, we see Phoebe and Dave go into the files, and they just hit like they can't connect anything back to him. And he comes home and she's all alone. And this is where you in your head start seeing the rain drops from the window, and you hear uh and Joey and yeah, okay. Oh, do you wanna be okay? All right, Dean draws by stands to bring coleslaw that Beth had made for dinner. And Sam's like, um, that's a lot of that's a lot of coleslaw. She's like, that's only he was like, that's half of what she made. And all of a sudden he they look at each other and they just hug each other. They hug it out, they bro hug it out. And I'm like, that's what's up. And then Dean goes.
SPEAKER_02That was that was good.
SPEAKER_00Dean asks, Do you want to take the brotherhood down? The brotherhood, they called it. They didn't call it a cult, they called it the brotherhood.
SPEAKER_02Oh, and maybe, maybe, no, maybe this is when he calls it up. One of them, I swear to god, one of them calls it up. He calls it the brotherhood.
SPEAKER_00They don't call it a cult.
SPEAKER_02I know, but maybe it was here where he was like, You, you, you realize we're in a cult, right? Or something like that. Maybe it was here.
SPEAKER_00But that's the part that I pulled up, because I assumed that was the part you were talking about. Like I remember the scene. I did, like I said, I didn't remember what was said. But I I had had it pulled up, and let's find out. And at this point, Stan nods. Beth is washing the dishes, and there's a knock on the door, and she answers it as Rio. She's like, Okay, now you're knocking. He says, you know, I'll take an apology. He says, I'll take an apology that she hurt his feelings. He said, if she needed something, all she had to do was ask. She says, So she says, That's his brother, that's your brother. He goes, Cousin, and he's in the way. I was like, sexy gang friend is back again.
SPEAKER_02At the end, I feel like this is actually a bigger moment because was it the last episode? Re Rio sent back her furniture. Yes. This episode he knocked.
SPEAKER_00He knocked, right? Well he texts her and brought like no, he brought up the app the furniture. Then the next episode he texts her and now he's knocking.
SPEAKER_02And right, and she's like, since when? And he's like, Well, that's what you want. So he's like, you know, we don't I don't know. Is he is he just you know showing her what she wants to see? Like he mentioned to cousin brother in a previous episode where it's like, how do you make women do what you want? Like, oh, you, you know, woman like that, blah blah blah. We don't know if that's what he's doing, well, I don't know if that's what he's doing. Or is he just coming around and and realizing that wait, maybe like this is a form of respect towards her and her accomplishments or her what's what's the word? Like her stance, her position, like her command. You know what I mean? And and like the things that she can pull off. And he's realizing like maybe she's actually more of an asset than I've been treating her.
SPEAKER_00So then maybe it's just that um I've always I think he's already respected her, but before she was like an employee. Now it's the I need her to bring down my cousin, and she has the ability to help me do this.
SPEAKER_03Well, yeah.
SPEAKER_00I think she I think he always seen her as an asset, but at the same time, you're an asset, but I'm still top dog. Don't get it twisted. Now it's just like, okay, we need to work together against my cousin now.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Oh.
SPEAKER_02And it's crazy that there's only like one episode left.
SPEAKER_00If it makes you feel any better, I have no idea how I don't remember how we how they wrapped up the seas the series. I do know that they knew it was ending. It wasn't a it wasn't a surprise. So it might be a satisfying episode. It might not be. Who knows? I don't know. One more.
SPEAKER_02Do you have anything else for this one?
SPEAKER_00I have nothing. Nothing. Okay. If I don't have you. Ooh-ooh. Ooh-oh. And then my camera zooms in, as I've said in the last ooh-ooh. That was pretty amazing.
SPEAKER_02That'll do it for this episode. Until next time.com for all the ways. Text us for and use fuck you in the smell as an insult. Don't drink and drive, drink responsibly. And until next time, I'm leaf.
SPEAKER_00And I'm Agnes.
SPEAKER_02And we are out of here.
SPEAKER_00See you later bye.
SPEAKER_04Listen, I'm sorry.
SPEAKER_03We're in a cold thing. I knew it.
SPEAKER_02Well, I I I didn't say you were wrong. I just didn't remember. Not just validated, but vindicated.
SPEAKER_00So vindicated against what though, Lisa?
SPEAKER_02You doubted me. No, I didn't. I said I didn't remember what. I feel like I said I wasn't listening. Yes. No, no, no. I didn't say you were wrong. Okay. Okay. Can I can I can I talk? Can I talk? Can I No. No. No. All right. Well, just picture a flappy head, okay? I feel validated because I've been saying it's a fucking cult, and then they called it a cult. I feel vindicated because you weren't sure, and and now I have been proven correct. I'm pretty sure I'm using those words right. Yes.
SPEAKER_00Well, you said I wasn't sure. Not that I doubted you. You said I doubted you at first. I just didn't know. I didn't know the answer.
SPEAKER_02You did kind of, you did kind of doubt because you weren't sure. You weren't like, yes, you're right. You doubted. But I didn't doubt it. I just didn't know the answer. You doubted because you didn't know, right? So that's that's not doubt. It's not a doubt. I didn't doubt you. I just didn't know. But you doubted. I didn't it's not a bad thing. It's just, it's just what it means, right? You weren't sure, so you had doubt. You had reasonable doubt.
SPEAKER_00No, you said I had doubt and what I remember. I didn't doubt you. Those are two different things. You said I doubted you. That's different.
SPEAKER_02But had you doubted me, you would have said, Well, if you said it, then you're right.
SPEAKER_03You're looking at me like so wait, I dropped my mobile phone.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, but like, I don't see you anymore. And then you just pop your face up looking at me, like, what the fuck are you talking about?
SPEAKER_01That you could you could edit that, you could use that clip.
SPEAKER_02I um Yeah, I don't know what I was gonna say.
