Welcome everyone to this episode of Sassin's Sips, where every week we will be discussing and dissecting an episode of Lost in Order. We will do our best to avoid spoilers for those of you who'd like to watch along with us. Neither of us are experts, just fans who like to drink and dish, which will also explain our audio mishaps.
SPEAKER_02Let's put it lightly.
SPEAKER_00I'm Lisa.
SPEAKER_02And I'm Agnes.
SPEAKER_00And today we will be discussing House of the Rising Sun.
SPEAKER_02Hi Lisa.
SPEAKER_00Hi Agnes. What you got?
SPEAKER_02So it was supposed to be coffee, and because of the holiday season, I threw a little coquito in there. But it turned out to be more coquito and less coffee.
SPEAKER_00You know, I don't like it.
SPEAKER_02I And I don't like eggnog. Go figure.
SPEAKER_00I don't like eggnog either. I make coquito and I I make a real good one actually, but I don't drink it.
SPEAKER_02See, and I make a well, see, I can make an eggnog, I don't like it. And for some reason, I just don't like eggnog, but I like coquito. But it's really the same thing, kind of sort of. Uh-uh.
SPEAKER_00Okay.
SPEAKER_02I know. I'm special that way.
SPEAKER_00So I got sangria, because I also make a pretty good sangria.
SPEAKER_02Are you doing the red the red wine sangria or the white sangria?
SPEAKER_00Red.
SPEAKER_02See, I fell in love with the white. Really? It's like the perfect. Well, red wine and meat, we don't go well together. The cannons and it, I don't know. But the white sangria, you could just drink it, drink it, drink it, and then you try to stand up in the fall and the floor meets your face. So this is awesome. It's a good experience.
SPEAKER_00I got my neighbor pretty twisted off of my um, as she calls it, mommy juice over the summer.
SPEAKER_02What is in mommy juice?
SPEAKER_00Well, it's just it's just the sangria, but that's what she insisted on calling.
SPEAKER_02She calls it.
SPEAKER_00Oh yeah, she has children. So I guess she didn't want to say the sangria.
SPEAKER_02So Lisa, tell us about the House of the Rising Sun.
SPEAKER_00Okay. So I'm gonna read the synopsis that I got from Lost Pedia. And then you can interrupt me if there's anything that you wanna stop and dish about.
SPEAKER_02Okay, dokie. I'll try my best. You know how quiet I am.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I know. Please try to put yourself out there this time, okay?
SPEAKER_02I'll try, I'll try.
SPEAKER_00Okay. I realize that sometimes on here they're not quite in order, and then they do the flashbacks in one section and the on island stuff in another.
unknownYes.
SPEAKER_00Yes, yes, yes. Going forward, I've actually started to organize it better, but I didn't have enough time to do it today. So next time, look forward to it being a little bit more organized.
SPEAKER_02For us, locally speaking.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, well. So in flashbacks, Sun chats at a dinner party and is offered some champagne by a waiter who is Jin. He also hands her a napkin which contains a message. She meets with him away from the partygoers, and the two kiss. Sun wants to elope. But Jin tells her that her father, Mr. Pike, would not allow it. As a symbol of affection, Jin reassures her by giving her a white flower and promises that it will one day be a diamond. Days later, Jin finds Sun outside in the garden where the party was held. He has spoken to her father and had been granted permission to marry his daughter, much to Sun's joy. However, her happiness subsides as Jin continues to explain that he would be working for her father, if only temporarily. He presents her with a diamond engagement ring paid for with the money from his new job. In a previous episode, you had your theory about Sun and Jin's relationship.
SPEAKER_02I was so wrong. But I wasn't, but I and I was so wrong. I I didn't factor in the cultural differences, but I was so very, very wrong. I was kind of like reversed on that situation. So if I'm not mistaken though, before they did the the whole uh flashback, the episode opens with them arguing with that damn with the survivors arguing about shelter. If I just kind of backtrack a little bit.
SPEAKER_00The episode actually opens on the island, and I'll I'll read that paragraph now so we can get into it.
unknownOkay.
SPEAKER_00Sun opens her eyes after sniffing flowers. She looks on as Jack and Kate talk playfully about his tattoos. Kate cannot see how the spinal surgeon could have such a wild side, but their verbal verbal copulation, as Charlie calls it, is cut short as some of the group is preparing to head for the caves to retrieve drinking water. Meanwhile, Sun wonders what's wrong as Jin runs towards Michael in anger. Jinn violently attacks him while Sun and Walt shout for him to stop. Said and Sawyer pull them apart, and Saeed orders Sawyer to give him the marshal's handcuffs from the plane. He does so, and Said cuffs Jin to a large piece of plane wreckage to restrain him.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, I remember, I remember now, yes. I should watch episodes soon, like the day of the recording, Lisa, because yeah. Okay.
SPEAKER_00Okay, do you remember that badass tackle from Saeed though?
SPEAKER_02Yes.
SPEAKER_00Oh my god.
SPEAKER_02Um, I think Saeed is very useful for the most part, but sometimes he just gets on my nerves. He's a little whiny.
SPEAKER_00When he talks, when they're just having a conversation and he's trying to appease people, like when he was like, okay, don't panic, don't panic. There's plenty of ways to find sustenance. He does seem whiny.
SPEAKER_02He wants to be in charge. He wants to be looked at as the leader, so to speak. This is my competitive channel right now as no leader per se, but people kind of look towards Jack. He wants to be looked at as a leader, in my opinion. So when people don't say what he wants, he gets a little whiny. Like, okay, dude, come out. Have a cookie though. Like, figure something out. This coldness of the island. And never mind the fact that part of my aversion to him, that he looks like something from my past, I'll get like twitches. There's gonna be comments on the screen. I'm like, oh, this dude again. He's useful, don't get me wrong. I don't think he needs to be killed off anytime soon.
SPEAKER_00So back to the flashbacks. Sometime after they wed, Sun and Jin live in a posh apartment in Seoul. Sun returns home to find that Jin has bought her a puppy. He sincerely apologizes for working such long hours lately. But Sun replies that in the past all he had to do was give her a flower to express his love. She seems to miss their early relationship when Jin was not under the command of her father. Before she can continue talking, Jin's phone rings. It's Mr. Peck. Later, Sun wakes up as Jin rushes into the apartment. She finds him in the bathroom washing blood off his hands. She asks, What happened? But her husband simply states that he was working. Sun does not relent, however, and eventually slaps Jin across the face when he does not give her a straight answer. He says that he does whatever her father asks for the sake of their marriage. So clearly it's a totally different dynamic that they have on the than they have on the island, where she's so obedient to him and so what's her name?
SPEAKER_02Submit subservient.
SPEAKER_00She's very sub Yeah. Oh, I was thinking submissive. Subservient.
SPEAKER_02Subservient. This is another like just to take it away from lost for a second, you know what I mean? My humanism. I think people confuse or intertwine entertain intertwine the words submissive and subservient as the same and then not. Submissive, um, there is a sense of trust and respect and love between the between the between the couple. I sub like uh voice of men, and that's not a submit to your demands is not necessarily a negative thing. So surveyance is where you get into um negative, where you have a lack of respect, and one person is usually afraid of the other. So surveyance is where you usually see abuse, mental, physical, emotional abuse. So, in general. So submissiveness, um, let's say a bad thing. I think in this relationship between these two, I think it was a very submissive, I think it's submissive in a cultural way, which is fine. But this is the, I think it leads to subservience, as you can see as the as the class back continues as to why you see, like, okay, no, this is just a regular, respectful, submissive relationship. I don't mean it's just purpose. You know, it's there's not an equal, there's no balance between the two. There's no respect, or there's a lack of respect and there's some fear going into it. So that's why I think it's so beautiful.
SPEAKER_00Okay, gotcha.
SPEAKER_02I'm going to speak now. Because I feel that it's funny because people look at me as um, I am a feminist. I don't believe feminism equals emasculation either. I don't believe, you know, I think I, but I understand submissiveness in the relationship, you know, as far as one personal relationship is more financially adept to that person, wants the other allowants the other person to like submit to that other person, allow them to take care of the family finances. So, you know, it's not necessarily a negative thing. It doesn't mean the woman's always submissive towards the man. It's a mutual respect for each other.
SPEAKER_00No, but it makes sense what you're saying. I get it. I get it.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. People don't think I believe in submissiveness because I'm such a strong, well, I mean woman, hear me war, but that's it. So she is wouldn't at the point where he gets uh he hits he hits her. He hits oh, she hits him.
SPEAKER_00She hits him.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_00She hits him. Exactly. She hits him because he's not really answering her.
SPEAKER_02I find it funny. Um, and not funny, ironic that um in most, I think as an American, we figured a lot these ways, these cultural differences, and we think that the the wife would never hit the husband. Like, oh my god, no. I think this comes to play with you her since um he was really the one that came for money. Yeah so that never look I you said my husband, but let's just make it twisted here. You when you're where you at because of my father. I think that was gonna win up like wait, hold it up, wait a minute. Let's make it things twisted up in here. You always have respect. Hold up, wait a minute. Okay, that was probably one of my favorite scenes. Nothing to hear on per se, but you know, what's behind the head. I don't condone hitting.
SPEAKER_00She really showed her her backbone.
SPEAKER_02Her class. Like, you know, as far as where she is in life and state her station in life.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_02The the class because you know, they all have their little systems. So she shows that hey, I like that. Like, you know, hold up, wait a minute.
SPEAKER_00In the jungle, Jack leads a group to where he found the fresh water. When they arrive, Charlie sneaks away to take some of his heroin, but Locke interrupts him, telling him to stay still. Charlie has stepped on a beehive. Jack and Kate run to get something to cover the hive. And Charlie is forced to stand on the spot as bees buzz around his body and crawl all over him. If that was me, I would pass out and die.
SPEAKER_02Oh yeah. Uh oh yeah, I listen. I'm not, I you know, I'm not um bees don't bother me. There's a bee around me, I see you know it is what it is. You know, but the whole beehive thing, we've all seen my girl. Oh, okay. Right?
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_02I was nervous for him, and that thing had a mini anxiety attack watching that scene myself.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, once they started, once they started crawling on his face, I I was having a hard time watching. If you know me in real life, you know my crazy and irrational reactions about around bugs.
SPEAKER_02So who? You yeah, no, I don't see it. I also thought of Candyman. I was like, oh, Candyman, but um I'm one of those that laugh through the horror flicks, so you know.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, but not when it comes to bugs. Okay, let's let's go on a tangent here. Like the Blacklist episode with the Beatles.
SPEAKER_02Oh, yeah, the Beatles to like, that was so gross. I love that one.
SPEAKER_00I I had a hard time watching. I my daughter was making fun of me. She was like, mom, you're so scared. I said, I can't look at it.
SPEAKER_02Good times, good times had by all.
SPEAKER_00Alright, let's focus now. Focus, focus. Back at the beach, Michael explains to Said what happened. He attributes the attack to racism, and when Sun points at her wrist, Saeed reinforces that the cups will stay on until the issue is resolved. Jack prepares to cover the beehive with a piece of luggage. But when one of the bees stings Charlie, his movement splits the hive and the group runs away as the bees scatter. Jack and Kate get to the caves, stripping off their clothes, but Kate suddenly jumps as she spots a skeleton on a ledge. Jack finds another set of remains and assesses them. The bodies have been there a long time. Approximately half a century, according to Jack. On one of the skeletons, he finds black and white stones. Charlie and Locke arrive. Locke wonders who the two men might have been, and Jack responds that one of the two corpses is that of a female and the other is that of a male. Leading John to dub them our very own Adam and Eve. Over here we get a little callback, but we'll go back into it.
unknownOkay.
SPEAKER_00In a flashback, one day Sun is showing a decorator around while Jin relaxes in the living room, appearing to be in a bad mood. Sun takes the woman to her bedroom, where it is revealed that the decorator is in fact someone Sun had hired to help her flee the country. She wanted to get away from her father and husband. Asking twice if she's sure, she gives Sun fake identity documents and tells her that she will have to make an excuse to walk away from her husband at the airport. Then she will go to a car waiting for her outside and will be taken into hiding. The woman orders Sun to repeat the time of the escape over and over. 1115. At Sydney Airport, Jen and Sun prepare to check in for a flight to Los Angeles as part of Jen's work. Sun moves to one side, noticing that it is 11:15. However, with tears streaming down her face, she finds that she cannot leave her love. She returns to her husband, who with a smile gives her a white flower. He asks her why she looks upset and she lies, answering that it is because of the flower's beauty. On the island, at just in time, Jack and Kate head back and John stays to help Charlie look through some flight A15 wreckage they had found nearby. Before they leave, however, Jack points out that the survivors need a lot of water and carrying it back and forth would be extremely tiresome work. He thinks that perhaps everyone should move to the cave, where there is shelter and protection from the elements as well as easy access to clean water. Walt asks Michael why he said Korean people do not like black people. Michael in turn asks Walt what his mother told him about his father. Walt bluntly says she never really mentions him. Neither of them knows much about the other. Walt's like, when's my birthday? And he knows, and then Michael says, Well, when's mine? Like, dude, he's a kid. Come on, Michael.
SPEAKER_02You know what? As a parent, do I expect my child to remember my birthday? Because they're children. No. When they do, I'm like, okay, you remember birthday? I don't want anything, just acknowledge the birthday, because you know I didn't give birth to you, you know.
SPEAKER_00Right.
SPEAKER_02But he's also gonna be the kiss life. It's not the kiss fault.
SPEAKER_00Exactly.
SPEAKER_02So think he's a little big he's he's he's a little whiny bitch baby. I am I am the island is full of them.
SPEAKER_00Trekking back to the beach, Kate mistakes Jack's pondering stare as an attempt to check her out. He explains that he is actually thinking about construction at the caves, and Kate gets the point, forgetting about her attempt to flirt. As he talks about convincing the other survivors into moving, Kate adds that he has yet to convince her too. At the caves, Charlie and Locke talk about Drive Shaft and Charlie's lost guitar. John promises that he will see it again, much to Charlie's confusion and disbelief.
SPEAKER_01I know who you are, and I know what you're looking for. Drive Shaft. You played bass. On a couple of tracks. Hey, just because I'm over 40 doesn't mean I'm deaf. I have both your albums. Although I thought that your self-title debut was a much stronger effort than a oil change. How long since you played?
SPEAKER_00When they're talking about Drive Shaft, because you know Charlie's in a band.
SPEAKER_02Right, he's in a band.
SPEAKER_00And Locke surprises him by knowing his band, being familiar with it, and even says that he has both albums and remarked on which one is even better. I think Charlie was dumbfounded.
SPEAKER_02Right. Another reason, another reason as to why Loc is my favorite, but you know, I'm playing biased in my opinion. Hi, Terry.
SPEAKER_00Um, he's just a cool dude. Uh he's the great white hunter, as Charlie refers to him in the great white hunter.
SPEAKER_02I love how everyone's falling into the normal niche and like what their roles are gonna be or shouldn't be. I think it's kind of cool. Like I I always think about kind of people just remember what role I fall into.
SPEAKER_00Mm-hmm.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, I don't know. I don't know. No idea. I don't busty. Mr. Bobsy. I don't know. Maybe let's be a shopkeeper. I don't know.
SPEAKER_00What are you gonna sell coconuts?
SPEAKER_02I might. I'm gonna be like the like a do that whole stuff and just you know. I don't know what I'll do. So, okay, so one thing about this episode, like the the beach scenes, that kind of bugged me out. Like this is like this has been like straight on beaming sun for a week straight. There's no building, you know what I mean? They're right on the beach. One, why has it taken a week for anyone to say, hey, I think we need some shelter? I don't know, like just you know, survival just peeked in a little bit before the week. And why is it even an argument about whether to find shelter or stay on the beach? Well, they say why it's an argument because if there was a No no no, I right, I get the reasoning for both find shelter, another sentries just do like to stay on the beach and like rotate.
SPEAKER_00Right.
SPEAKER_02It shouldn't be they need both. So it the argument is it's it's stupid. It's two people wanting to be right and not thinking about the bigger picture. You need both. Um that part just bugs me out. I'm like, comments is not common and I don't care if it's TV.
SPEAKER_00Right. It doesn't have to be all or nothing.
SPEAKER_02Yes. Oh my god. Whole bunch of whiny bitchy babies on the sh. I think I have to wish to keep though today.
SPEAKER_00That's okay.
SPEAKER_02As I sip on, you know, more.
SPEAKER_00Go for it, go for it. Alright, I'm gonna finish reading this. Jack and Kate find Saeed, who fills them in on what happens at the beach. Jack is more interested, however, in his cave idea. Said disagrees with the plan, believing that a signal fire at the beach is the best hope of rescue. To move is to give up on the hope of leaving, and some will be less than willing than others when it comes to the decision. At the shore, divisions are already starting to form, with Hurley agreeing to follow Jack and Michael siding with Saeed. Sawyer asks Kate whether she will go with the pessimist or the optimist, but she declines to reveal her allegiance. In the woods by the beach, Michael chops bamboo, but is interrupted by Sun. Before he has time to react properly, she says, I need to talk to you in perfect English. Michael stands still. She reveals that Jin does not know she speaks English, which is why she has not done so publicly. And that the watch Michael found in the wreckage had been entrusted to Jin by her father. Protecting it is a question of honor for Jin. Sun says that she can fix the situation, but she needs Michael's help. Charlie manages to sneak away in the jungle, but Loc follows him and tells Charlie he is aware of his drug problem. Locke guesses that he will be running out of the drug soon, but wants him to give it up by choice. He asks if Charlie wants his guitar more than the drug. Charlie agrees, and as he hands over the heroin, Loc simply tells him to look up. Wrapped in roots above is Charlie's guitar case. At the beach, Jack tells Kate that it's time to head back to the cave. However, she proclaims that she can't dig in, as Jack called it. Jack asks what had caused her to be this way. What she did. But Kate says that he had his chance to know before. Both state, you know where to find me, before Jack leaves the beach. Meanwhile, Michael approaches Jim with an axe in his hand. He returns the watch he found and cuts him free from the wreckage with the weapon. Michael gives Son a glimmer of eye contact in recognition as he walks away. Having finished what she had asked of him. At the caves, Jack arrives with the new tenants, among them Curly, Jen, and Son. At the beach, Sawyer, Said, Walt, Michael, Shannon, Boone, and Kate sit by the signal fire. Kate stares into the flames, as does Jack with his fire at the caves. Curly again turns on a CD player and listens to the music. So, what did you think when Sun reveals that she can speak English?
SPEAKER_02I'm not surprised.
SPEAKER_00Okay.
SPEAKER_02Um, I mean, one, I'm sure she picked up some English growing up. Sure, her thought her father was a businessman and he knows some English. So I'm not surprised that she knew English.
SPEAKER_00But let me ask you something. Jin doesn't know. So don't you find that suspect?
SPEAKER_02Um, why he doesn't know, I found that suspect. The fact, like, what did she tell him? What did she know? I think that may have been part of her exit strategy that she never used. I don't know why she never used it. But I did have um I did have more questions than answers at the end of the episode when it comes to those two. Yeah. But why you went through all of this and then the and then for some reason you changed your mind?
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Because it's like you don't make that decision. You don't make that decision at the spirit of the moment to leave your husband and your father just wake up one morning. It's something that, you know, it was planned and orchestrated, and then nothing happened. You got your flower and you changed your mind? I don't know. Lots of questions. Now that she's straight on this island, I bet she wish she hadn't changed her mind. But you know. Hindsight is 2020.
SPEAKER_00Oh, ain't that the truth? So that was the biggest reveal for the episode.
unknownYes.
SPEAKER_00So some of the main story themes that I listed were that now Locke is aware that Charlie is on drugs.
unknownYes. Yes.
SPEAKER_02Yes, he is. Yep. The great White Hunter is also gonna be wise man, as you see in the next episode.
SPEAKER_00Yep. And he uh yeah.
unknownYes.
SPEAKER_00So he gives Charlie a little talk about his drugs.
SPEAKER_02I have so much to say about Charlie and his life, though. I can't wait till next week.
SPEAKER_00In the caves, we meet Adam and Eve, but the stones that they had were a callback to the backgammon game. You know, the whole one side is light, one side is dark, and that's a little bit of a of a theme.
SPEAKER_02Interesting. I didn't s I did not notice that before.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. And then the caves, when they get the new tenants, you know, so to speak, it causes a rift between Jack and Cake, but essentially now it's splitting up the survivors.
SPEAKER_02And which it doesn't have to, but go ahead. Yeah, I'm sorry.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. Yeah, because you and I both know that, but they're so they're so hard-headed that they can't just, you know.
SPEAKER_02Before anyone out there yells at me and tell me, it's just a TV show. I know it's just a TV show. But you try to I know, but you just having all of these survivors, not one person, like, hey, let's do them both. Come on. Yes, I know the TV show. But we don't pick apart TV shows. What's the point of us being here, right? Right. We're all yet, we almost had home yellow to TV screen. And I'm not the only one.
SPEAKER_00Do you have any other um any other themes that you want to talk about or scenes?
SPEAKER_02Absolutely not. Because um I don't have told you this, but I like the show. I'm gonna continue watching. I'm not invested enough into it to think that's like the goose that easter eggs of the show or to pick up like underlying themes. I'm not gonna be at the end. I think um, yeah, I think the next episode I really understand Charlie a lot more. I've always liked Charlie. But I I get I understand him a little bit more and how ironic his life has had become. But yeah, we'll see that we're talking about Charlie next episode. But I'm trying, I'm trying to get invested.
SPEAKER_00Now that we're on the subject of characters, you know, I'm gonna ask you. Last week was a Jack episode.
SPEAKER_02Mm-hmm.
SPEAKER_00Has any of your feelings for Jack changed after seeing his episode? No.
unknownOkay.
SPEAKER_02I'm still like I don't hate him. I don't love him. I mean he's cool. He and I look I don't hate him. Look cool. Jack and I am okay. Um, I think it's still just like my issue, you know, with the whole, you know, ego thing with the with the guys, it's just not with him, period. With him and Saeed, that whole ego thing. But speaking of Saeed, I'd like to know how he like why he is the way he is. I need to see his story. So I don't know if I want to like him more or like him less after that story. Let's see what happens.
SPEAKER_00Yep. Okay, in this episode, we gotta look into Sun's life. So, what are your thoughts on her after seeing one of her episodes?
SPEAKER_02I think she's a lot stronger than she's portrayed to be because they don't speak. Well, I mean, since the time loose, no one thinks they speak English. And she's kind of a little bit, you know, quiet and obedient, lack of a term. I think she's a lot stronger. She's a bit she has a backbone. Like you said earlier, she's there. She is she's a tough cookie. We see the next episode, also, a little bit more of that.
SPEAKER_00You're not supposed to know that yet.
SPEAKER_02I know, but I won't tell anybody what it is. I'm not telling anybody what I'm like, no spoilers, but I'm just telling you guys, you know, a little bit of stuff in there one.
SPEAKER_00Yes, but now that I'm gonna ask you about Charlie before you see the episode, but you already snuck and watched it.
SPEAKER_02Okay, so ask about Charlie. So I have to rewind my thoughts on Charlie.
SPEAKER_00Okay, pretend.
SPEAKER_02Okay, I could do that.
SPEAKER_00Have another sip, maybe you'll forget.
SPEAKER_02Oh, good idea. Okay, go.
SPEAKER_00Okay. Before you see Charlie's episode, just seeing him in the up to now. Let me thought.
SPEAKER_02Um okay, let me see if I can remember some things from before Charlie's episode. I'm such a bad girl. Kind of shame on me. So I think he is otherwise that he was an innocent, kind of like an innocent, homeless guy. Like he hasn't homeless homeless, he's a homeless dude. Um, I was thinking all of them are, but it's all of them are. He's a homeless little guy, and I like Charlie. He tries, like he could look, he wants approval. He wants like he wants he needs that approval, he needs that he I don't think he knows that he doesn't have to search for it. People like him well enough as is, but he's still searching.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_02So that's my thing on Charlie before I saw the Charlie episode.
SPEAKER_00Okay. I have a visitor sitting with me right now.
SPEAKER_02I heard her.
SPEAKER_00Hi.
SPEAKER_01Hello.
SPEAKER_00Hello. All right. You have to be quiet if you're gonna sit up here. All right, let's close it out.
unknownYeah, right?
SPEAKER_00All right. So I have to tell you what happened before we recorded. Well, you know, because you were on the phone with me.
SPEAKER_02Good times, I tell you. Good times indeed.
SPEAKER_00Okay, so we're gonna we're gonna tell the listeners. Um I get a package.
SPEAKER_02Hold on to your seats, people.
SPEAKER_00I get a package in front of my house. It doesn't belong to me, it has my address. But I think it belongs to my neighbor and somehow they just put the wrong address. So I go to take it to them. I knock on the door. All the lights are on in the house, so I know somebody is home. The bedroom lights are on, the uh dining room, the living room. The door opens, and a little boy answers. I ask him, Hey, is your mom home? Can you go get her? He walks away from the door. And I'm just standing there, kind of looking stupid.
SPEAKER_02With the box of your hand.
SPEAKER_00With the box, a bit and it's a big box. It's not a little box, it's a big box. So he comes back and I ask him again, who's here with you? He grabs me by the hand and pulls me into the house.
SPEAKER_02And this is what I say, you walked your ass into a ready-bijar flick.
SPEAKER_00So now I'm standing in this person's house with a seven-year-old boy who's he's special needs, he's non-verbal, and I can't get him to get an adult. He keeps pointing to the box, he wants me to open it, but it it it's not mine, so I'm not gonna open it. So he's running back and forth making sounds, really excited about whatever is in this box.
SPEAKER_02I feel him. I get the same way like in a package.
unknownI really do.
SPEAKER_00So then he goes and he brings me a scissor. So now I'm standing in a stranger's house with a child, a box and a scissor.
SPEAKER_02With your fingerprints all over the evidence.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, so I I wiped my fingerprints off because I don't I don't know.
SPEAKER_02We watch too much TV.
SPEAKER_00You know, the thing is, I've met the mom previously, but I've never met anybody else. And I don't know if this kid is there by himself. I don't want dad or whoever to come walking in and see me standing there thinking, who the fuck are you? So I call up the stairs, I'm, you know, yelling out, hello. Nobody is answering. So I put this, I wiped the rest of my fingerprints off, you know, again, just for good measure. Put the scissors down.
unknownJust for good measure.
SPEAKER_00And I left. I took the box and I left. I I told the kid I was gonna come back. And he said, okay. And that was like one of two words he said, because the other word he said was car pointing to the box. So I don't know what to do. I don't know if that kid is there by himself. I'm gonna go back over there. I I'm I just felt really awkward being in a house alone with the child that I don't know that can speak. And I'm also worried that the kid is there by himself, but the door upstairs was closed. So I'm guessing whoever was there was in the bathroom. Maybe they were taking a shit. I don't know.
SPEAKER_02So you're like, okay, fine, that makes sense. I mean, bigger picture, yeah. Mom is busy. You know, like whatever. It is what it is. A little weird being dragged in the house, but you know, you've I was into these funny situations, Lisa. So it's quite normal for you. Us normal people, we're like, what the after fuck? You like just another day.
SPEAKER_00I don't know what happened there, but you know what? I know, I'll give you an update because when we're done here, I'm gonna go return the box again and see if mom is home or finish with her shit. So if you don't hear from me, it's because I got dragged in and murdered with the scissor.
SPEAKER_02So or you're there opening the package with the kid playing with his car. I don't know. I mean, you know, you could be. Where do things have happened?
