SPEAKER_00

Hi, I'm Lisa. And I'm Agnes. And you're listening to Sass That Sips and Sips. Where every episode we will be discussing and dissecting an episode of Lost in Order. And today's episode is one of them from season two.

SPEAKER_02

I have a question. I love the way we say in order. Like maybe one day we just go all wacky and go straight to season six.

SPEAKER_00

You would watch you would watch an episode from season six and be like, what in the actual fuck is going on here?

SPEAKER_02

And maybe that's how you're trying to finally get me into the show. That could be fun. That could work, right? Okay. Like, who is this and why is what what what the polar bear running the running the taffle stand? Like what are you drinking today? The little pick and safe by me had a like a cell for a dollar, the little shots. So do I drink long-only iced tea? If you like pina colada. Or do we have pineapple margarita? Like which one do we like pineapple margarita? Boom. I also have my coffee um and I had the little Kahlua one. I had the coffee, so I'm covered.

SPEAKER_00

There you go. I I just have seltzer and vodka, you know, all this quarantine weight. Trying to be a little bit quote unquote healthy.

SPEAKER_02

So tell me, Lisa, about this episode.

SPEAKER_00

So the episode is called One of Them. And before I jump into the flashbacks, is there anything that you want to say about the episode overall?

SPEAKER_02

Well, it's funny how I remember last week, we were last week, um, I was like, I want to know what happened between the girlfriend escaped, him letting her escape, and then them in Australia with Saeed. Like, what happened in between? Like, what like what was his life like in between? And I'm like, oh look, I got what I wish for.

SPEAKER_00

But this is I don't think this is in between. I think this is before.

SPEAKER_02

I think no, because Tariq was his boss when he with the girl, when they came when they had the girl, he wanted them to ask.

SPEAKER_00

Like she he was already a torturer. This is where he learned the skill.

SPEAKER_02

But I'm saying, no, because Tariq was already his boss. The way I the way I say Tariq at that during the first black room was his boss. There's no way after this position that Tariq would have been his boss. Tariq would never Tariq would have killed him after this torture. This is before.

SPEAKER_00

This is where he learned how to be an interrogator slash torturer. And this is going back to like 1991.

SPEAKER_02

Oh.

SPEAKER_00

Because this is like the first Gulf War.

SPEAKER_02

Shit, you're right. Damn. Okay. Never mind then. But and Damn, you're right. Is it there's yeah. Wasn't Tariq still his boss? And the I don't know. I feel like he was. I remember the name is familiar. Alright, cool beans. But that was it. I'm done. But I do have some parts. I have some like aha moments. Okay. Anything that's anything catch your eye, stand out to you? Listen, it was a hard day for me. Um nothing that jumped out. I feel like it should have, but nothing that I feel like I'm being tested. I fell the pop quiz, mom. Okay. Okay.

SPEAKER_00

So in flashback, in an Iraqi bunker during the first Gulf War, as bombs fall around them, a Republican Guard commander, Tariq, urges his soldiers to keep destroying documents. The door is kicked in, and American soldiers capture the Iraqi soldiers. Their NCO wants to know who is in charge. One of the prisoners speaks English, Saeed. When Saeed says there is no commanding officer present, the soldier senses Saeed is lying.

SPEAKER_02

Said what This is fucking good. Sorry. Hannah Margarita.

unknown

Sorry.

SPEAKER_00

The soldier senses Said is lying and knocks him out with the rifle's butt. Said is taken aside by another soldier. Now, this soldier. Did you recognize him from Lost? We have seen him before. And you could see the name on his jacket in another scene. I didn't look.

SPEAKER_02

I didn't see. Oh, that's one of the things I went on my head. Horrible, horrible, horrible, horrible person. Is in the army that we have seen in this show. I'm in the army now. One of the others was in the army. Nope. Nope. Nope.

SPEAKER_00

You didn't. Even if that even along those lines, you don't see a person. You see that person. I'm checking off my list. Let me check off my mental list.

unknown

Hey, hey.

SPEAKER_02

You see this person and a flashback? Wait, let me pull up my notes. Oh my god.

SPEAKER_00

There's a reason you told me to write notes, isn't it? This is gonna make for some compelling audio.

SPEAKER_02

Shut up. Shut up. Stop being mean to me in my old age. I got holes in my brain, damn it. I have a feeling once you tell me, I'm like, what the fuck? I knew that shit. Exactly.

SPEAKER_00

Somebody's father, but not really.

SPEAKER_02

Oh! Kate's father. Yeah. Holy shit. Yeah. Holy shit. I yeah. Shut up.

SPEAKER_00

Well, also because he And I had a lot to say about him, too. And there's a scene later where he's holding a picture of Kate. Right.

SPEAKER_02

That's how they keep talking. But remember I said he looks familiar. That's probably why he looked fucking familiar. Okay. The guy that I was thinking about. Go on. Okay.

SPEAKER_00

Said is taken aside by another soldier, Kate's father, for questioning and asked where the commander Tariq is. But Saeed, as a loyal member of the Republican Guard, tells the Americans that Tariq fled to Hila before they arrived. The Americans lead him into a room where he finds Tariq tied to a chair in front of them. They're like, Welcome to Hila! Saeed is used as a translator for the interrogation of his own commanding officer. The Americans are looking for a missing helicopter pilot and they know Tariq can lead them to him. Tariq refuses to cooperate, ordering Said in Arabic to steal the guard's gun and shoot as many of the Americans as he can. Said doesn't, but tells the Americans simply that Tariq doesn't have their answer. Said is introduced to a man who tells him it is very important that they find the missing helicopter pilot, but he knows Tariq will never talk to him. He plays a DIA videotape which shows a village of people dying from sarin gas that was ordered by Tariq. The man knows that Said had family in that village. Said, feeling betrayed, agrees to interrogate Tariq. The American officer hands Saeed a large box.

SPEAKER_02

I have a couple of things to say. I'm trying to say, do I wait till we end the flashback? I think we're gonna wait till we finish the flashback. Not throwing all my little one-liners.

SPEAKER_00

Okay. Said begins to interrogate Tariq, who is incredulous that Said is working with the Americans. After a period of time in which Saeed interrogates and tortures him, he walks out of the interrogation room and has the information. The American pilot was executed two days ago. He hands the box to the American officer and his hands are bloody. Said is in the back of a military transport with several soldiers, one of whom, Sergeant Austin, holds a picture of a young girl. And he's holding a picture but in like a couple of scenes, and then finally you get to see the picture, you realize and you see that it's a young Kate. Saeed is driven down a deserted road in the Iraqi desert. Inman, who's the other guy who uh showed him the video, his name is Inman. He takes Saeed out of the transport, telling him the Americans are pulling out of Iraq. He says he thinks Saeed is lucky now that he gains a new skill that he can use. And Saeed tells him he would never torture anyone again. Inman suddenly begins speaking in Arabic, telling him that one day there will be something he will need to know, and now he knows how to get it. Inman hands Said the box, gives him a thousand dollars to get back to Ramadi and leaves. So that's the end of the flashback.

SPEAKER_02

So, couple of things. Funny how Tariq is all tied up, right? But he expects Saeed, who's also tied up to take the guy's gun. If you're so badass, why do you do it your damn self? But that's just random. Like I'm just saying, like, really?

SPEAKER_00

He was Tariq was hoping for a Hail Mary. He's like, take the gun and kill them. Take the gun and kill yourself.

SPEAKER_02

But as but as but at Saeed's expense. Like you didn't take the gun from him. You didn't try to take him when they catch you. Suck a dick. Now, maybe it was just me. But we I think it's assumed that Sayed, Saeed, Saeed, sorry, Saeed, that Saeed learns these skills while working there. Is it the Iraqi army?

SPEAKER_00

Is that you mean before this episode?

SPEAKER_02

Before this episode, like before this episode, we're supposed to assume that this is where he learned it. But we did it. And I was like, that's interesting. And by surprise, absolutely not. But I was just like, mm-hmm. And I would I start thinking about like the first couple of episodes of season one. I'm like, if Saeed, if his character wasn't of that descent, he would have been the leader on the beach. I firmly believe that. He has a skill set. Like who makes the doctor the leader? Like, I'm just saying, not that a doctor's not useful, but right. And especially when the others are coming, he's just not, he doesn't have the skill set. Unless he was like a an army doctor. Like he doesn't have like he's just a regular old fabulous spinal start. But he doesn't have the skill set for this. And I don't understand how he's still I think that's like I mean that can go to the next part of the show.

SPEAKER_00

No, but like just like let's let's just say just to play devil's advocate, okay? Let's just say that under the best case scenario, he became the default leader because he was a thruster and he jumped into action and took charge in order to triage, triage, triage, and people just defer to that thinking, oh look, he can whatever, he can bark out orders. But it doesn't but being able to heal people and triage people is much different than being able to strategically plan survival amongst amongst different people in a place.

SPEAKER_02

Even if it wasn't the others involved, it's a totally he he still doesn't have like you're right, organizing a survival and how we're gonna work out is totally different. Others, not even counting the others, not even with the others in place. He definitely doesn't have it, and I think I have more opinions toward this, and I think it's gonna be better said when we get to on the island. Okay. Let me see, make sure I did everything I had to say for this. Oh, it's so funny. The fact that he knew the language, he saw talking to I wasn't I was like, yep, not surprised. Well, so and then you you realize and he's not part of the and he wasn't I don't he wasn't whatchamacallit. He wasn't arm, he wasn't army, I don't think. He wasn't dressed. Like I think he I got the impression that he had he had the um like a vest on. I think he was army. I thought I got the present that he's more like private military or something for the out like a a consultant. Like I didn't get I didn't say he wasn't like he didn't have the skill set.

SPEAKER_00

He wasn't like a I felt like no, but I just felt I I like I said before, I'm not very familiar with rankings and stuff, but I got the gist that he was just higher up. They still wear uniforms, yeah. But he wasn't like like out of uniform, but he wasn't in uniform. That's what I mean.

SPEAKER_02

He's still more of like a private military um on that cover. Yeah. Yeah, that yeah, yeah, it's a it's a thing. Um they'll hire private military companies, like their former army ranger, navy, like, and they have their own private military they have their own little private companies, and they get our company pays our country pays them to do work that may not be whatever. Their support to our to our armed forces. Well their support.

SPEAKER_00

But anyway, I don't know. I I took it as that he just um obviously has spent a lot of time there, and so the language is very familiar, and he and maybe that's also why he got the post is because he studied the language, but most mostly it was the fact that he already spoke the language, so everything that Saeed was translating, he didn't need him to translate. I think that was a historical right, so he knew everything that the guy was saying, and you wanted to hear what kind of man Said was, and Saeed passed the test not knowing that he was being tested. So to see right. He saw that Saeed was loyal, but still felt to do the right thing.

SPEAKER_02

There's a right level of loyalty and the right thing and it depends on whose side you're taking. Right. But yeah. But anyway, I'm not surprised that he he spoke the language because he whatever whatever his position was, he's a lifer. Like you could tell that this is like him and this is this is his career, like him being there isn't oh, this is my first time in this country. Like you knew you knew dude was um he had to know the language. It was you want to know something? What do I want to know? We'll see him again. Oh, good. As in a flashback on the island. Don't tell me he's one of the others. He's the leader of the others. I don't know.

SPEAKER_00

Maybe that's where the army knife came from. Maybe on the island, Anna Lucia comes to Said and tells him she saw one of them near the camp. Well, it's a good thing at least she didn't shoot her. She and Said track the person, but Saeed recognizes the person as Rousseau. He tells her to go back to their camp and orders her not to tell anyone what she saw. I like that. He put her in her place because she's like, but and he's like, go back and don't tell anyone.

SPEAKER_02

That was sexy as fuck. I'm just letting you know.

SPEAKER_00

Especially hard that she she's she swears that she like, you know. Anyway. I'm having a hate Analysia moment. I can tell. Said jumps in front of Danielle asking what she's doing here, and she says, I'm looking for you. Like, and what? No. She leads him through the jungle to a clearing where there is a man hanging in a net from a tree and calling for help. He claims to be Henry Gale from Minnesota. Danielle warns Saeed not to free him and tells him he should not believe any word Henry says. Said cuts him down, and as Gail tries to escape, Rousseau shoots him in the back with a crossbow, purposely missing his heart. She is convinced that Gail is another, and she tells Saeed to take him back to their doctor. Saeed ties him up and she tells him and she tells him that Gail will lie for a long time. He will lie. I like that when he says like something like, You could have killed her, she said, If I wanted him dead, he'd be dead. Don't fuck with her. Meanwhile, Sawyer is irritated by the loud chirping sounds made by a tree frog. Sawyer asks Jin if he hears it too, but Jin does not answer after angry after what happened previously. Nobody is talking to him. He heads off into the jungle and comes across Hurley eating from his personal stash of food. Sawyer says he will not say anything to anyone about Hurley's hidden stash if Hurley helps him find the frog. During their journey, Sawyer keeps calling Hurley a different nickname. Each one of them has to do with Hurley being overweight. Hurley's uh rerun. I like that show.

SPEAKER_02

I did too.

SPEAKER_00

Hurley's temperature eventually heats up, and he tells Sawyer that even though he is fat, people still like him, while nobody likes Sawyer.

SPEAKER_02

Boom! Eat some aloe for that burn. Okay.

SPEAKER_00

Sawyer apologizes and Hurley decides to continue the journey with him. Eventually, they find the frog. Hurley tries to reason with Sawyer, promising to take the frog to another part of the island, but Sawyer crushes it in his hand.

SPEAKER_02

Damn. That's so gross. That part this is uh when um Hurley said that he used to have a turtle, but his mother said he ran off, and I just thought that was the funniest shit. I'm like, yeah, the turtle ran off.

SPEAKER_00

In The Swan, Said wakes Lock up and tells him Gail's story. Said tells Gail he has to calm down and then asks him some questions. Gail claims to have crashed his balloon on the island that his wife died after she got sick three weeks ago. According to Gail, they were staying in a cave off the beach. Jack arrives and it's like, what the hell is going on here? Grumble, grumble, grumble.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, fucking Jack. I have so much to say about the in the island part. Girl.

SPEAKER_00

He removes the arrow from Gail's shoulder. Said takes Locke aside and convinces him to change the combination on the armory door so that he can interrogate him without Jack's interference. They trick Jack into bringing him into the armory, and Saeed shuts the door as Jack and Locke walk out. While Jack is banging on the door asking Said what he is doing, Saeed repl Saeed replies quietly, what needs to be done. Jack and Locke argue about the combination on the door and Jack's plans to start an army. Jack Sorry, hold on.

SPEAKER_02

I just think it's funny when you were talking about how Harry got caught eating from his stash, and at that very moment I was shoving a Danish shit down my throat.

SPEAKER_00

I just thought it was quite Locke says that Jack raised an army because they are at war. So whatever Said is doing with Gail is part of it too. In the army, Saeed questions Gail about his life on the island for the last four months. He also asks about his wife, and Gail reveals she died when she suddenly got sick. He says it started as a fever, and after two days she was delirious and died. He asks to know who Saeed is, so Said tells him about his military career, about the things he did, and the things he wishes he could erase from his memory. He introduces himself with My name is Saeed Jara and I am a torturer. Jack is cleaning up Gail's blood and argues more with Locke. Said continues his interrogation about the balloon and Gail's wife. Gail claims that he was rich after he sold his non-metallic minerals mining company. Saeed asks about his wife's grave, the location, how deep, how many shovel fulls of earth? Did you use your hands? How long did it take you? When Gail does not know what to answer, Saeed becomes violent and begins beating him severely. Said claims he would remember how deep that grave is. If he would really have buried the woman he loved, he would remember if it were true. Gail asks if Said lost someone he loved on the island, and Saeed only says that it was an accident, and that the woman who accidentally killed her thought she was someone who wants to hurt us, someone like you. Said punches Gail in the face over and over while Gail begs him to stop. His screams lead Jack to force Locke to open the armory door, just as the timer begins to sound. Jack says if Locke would not open the door, he will not let Locke push the button. Locke does not believe Jack will risk everybody's life on the island, but But Jack says he does not believe anything will happen. Locke eventually opens the door and rushes to enter the code to push the button, but his fingers trip over themselves and does not get them entered in time. As the timer hits zero, hieroglyphs appear in place of the numbers, and what sounds like a generator begins to fire up. Locke finally enters the code and presses the button. The sound dies down and the timer returns to 108. Meanwhile, Jack stops Said from beating Gail, but Said is convinced that Gail is one of them, although his reasoning does not satisfy Jack. Gail thanks Jack and before the armory's door is closed on him, shows some kind of a smile. On the beach, Said is telling Charlie his story and claims that he knows Gail is an other because he felt no guilt for what he did. He tells Charlie that it seems everybody has forgotten what the others did to them, how they abducted Claire, or how they hung Charlie from a tree. And he asks Charlie if he too has forgotten.

SPEAKER_02

So I'm a stall backwards. This scene uh completely reinforced my constant, constant rantings and how Jack is not prepared for this role. Like, with all his good intentions, he is not the person for this role. Like in The Godfather, when Michael tells Tom that his father's gonna be consigliary, he goes, We're in wartime. I never I need a wartime consigliere. Jack is not that wartime consigliary, he is not trained or prepared to deal with these people. Said and then Locke as his second. That's my part. That's my that's what I gotta say about it. You look at me crazy when I mention the Godfather. I like the Godfather. Tom Hagen. Okay. Anyway, I have no life. Um I really, really, really, really want to really wish she didn't finish the numbers. Because once I saw the hieroglyphs, I was like, oh, this is gonna be fun. I'm like, oh damn. So what do you think that means? No fucking clue. I don't know. I I can't I can't. That means that the polar bear is gonna take over the well I'll tell you this. Um she says that, she really means I'm telling you something that really is gonna be so obtruse, and you're not gonna get it. But go ahead.

SPEAKER_00

Okay. Well, when Walt was learning about the birds, remember we said that's the first reference to Egypt? Right. So now we have hieroglyphs.

SPEAKER_02

So when we guess the polar bear came from ancient Egypt.

SPEAKER_00

Do you want to do trivia now? Um Well, there was a sound. There was a sound when they were when they were changing to red and black. And in in the synopsis, it says it sounds like a generator, but do you think that that's what it is?

SPEAKER_02

No idea. I think it's a I don't know, maybe the waking the beast. I don't know. I just know the sound was a totally different sound. Like there's always sounds coming out, like of something, but I don't know. It was just like, okay, you done had your warning, just about to get real sound. I really okay. Remember, I said how Jack, like, he didn't ask Kate to be part of the army because he's being petty and whatever. He didn't ask Locke to be either. I don't think we even saw Kate this episode. We didn't, but he doesn't seem to ask anyone with any skill set to be part of this army. And I'm like, no, it's not him being petty, it's him being insecure that will be questioned. And doesn't want any I feel like he doesn't want anyone with any knowledge. I can see that to sh show how much he does he's not prepared for this. Because like Kate, Locke is Saeed even part of the army, exactly, like exactly Saeed was in the army. So he has but meanwhile, him and fucking Anna Lucia are talking to regular Joes on the street. Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Uh uh trigger happy cop and a doctor. Like I definitely definitely feel safe with that army.

SPEAKER_02

Right, but they're even asking people to like the three characters that we do know have skill sets, you don't even talk to them about it.

SPEAKER_00

And okay, even Kate's father was in the army. And you think that you think that she doesn't have part of that discipline? Of course she does.

SPEAKER_02

She's actually showed her skill sets. Right. Like Yeah, I I I get it. He has like every episode, I'm like, your cons are definitely starting to outweigh your pros, dude. Like, I know we're human, we are not perfect, but some are less than others. That's not indeep without being without while still being bitchy. I like that. Well as far as okay, go ahead. Um, does Saeed ever take do they ever like take over and kick Jack out of leadership? Like, I didn't even know that they do they want a mutiny on the what's the right word? I can't think of the right word. I can't think of the right word.

SPEAKER_00

Um I'm gonna read trivia.

SPEAKER_02

I don't know if that was Agnes that's the dumbest thing ever, or Agnes, oh my god, how do we help you? I'm just not answering.

SPEAKER_00

Okay, so I said that this is the second time that we've um gotten an Egyptian reference. It's the first appearance of hieroglyphics.

SPEAKER_02

Okay, so that means that that shows the one the fact that they said the first time, that's gonna be a next time. Okay, continue. And where the hell is Michael? Go ahead. Michael did Michael ran off, remember? I know, but where the fuck is he now? But go ahead. I'm I was more like dude. Okay.

SPEAKER_00

We didn't really see a lot of people in this episode. But we think about it. No, I know. But but Michael, okay, but Michael ran off. But like Kate is still there, we don't see her. Son is still there, we barely see her. Claire, we barely saw Charlie. I mean I just want to know how Michael's acting. And a Lucia got a cameo. Mr. Echo is you know, so there's not really like a lot of exposition in this episode for other characters.

SPEAKER_02

No, but what my like my question about Michael specifically is like we know that the other characters are still there. We know what's going on with them. Michael, I'm gonna know what the fuck is going on with him. I need to know what the hell is going on with him. Like, where is he? What's going on? What's happening? The other ones we know they're there. I don't need to like they're there, they're hiding, they're doing laundry, I don't know, catching fish. Like, we know they're there. Michael, on the other hand, you're like, what you up to? We'll talk about Willis.

SPEAKER_00

And Henry Gale claims he crashed his balloon four months ago, which four is one of the numbers.

SPEAKER_02

He's got to no good.

SPEAKER_00

So let's talk about the connection of the name Henry Gale. And you know how Locke is um, not Locke, sorry, Lost is so cheeky with names.

SPEAKER_02

Like Dorothy Gale, the Wizard of Oz in the balloon. Yes. I got that one.

SPEAKER_00

Okay, so I'm gonna I'm just gonna read it for anyone who maybe is not familiar. Henry says that he became stranded on the island after his hot air balloon went off course and took him there. This is a direct reference to the 1939 film The Wizard of Oz, where the main character, a girl named Dorothy Gale, dreams she has become lost in a fantastical world after her house is sent there during a tornado, many points of which have a parallel within the world of Lost. Henry Gale is the name of Dorothy's uncle in the film, and the famous Wizard of Oz arrived in the land of Oz when his hot air balloon took him there by mistake. He, too, like Lost Henry, comes to live in a community that exists in a strange location where its inhabitants seem to stand out from their surroundings.

SPEAKER_02

So they likened never mind that Henry Gale's same name as Dorothy's uncle, but the character himself they likened to the wizard, who is kind of like, oh, you gotta go see the wizard, oh the wizard, the wizard, the wizard. Like, is he like because we already know he's the other? Like, come on, we don't have to be psychics and no, he's one of them. Um, is he like the wizard for the others? Like, is he their wizard? Their you don't have to say, like the wizard, like everyone goes, like, gotta go see the wizard. Like, he's the leader, not the leader per se, but you know, he's the in all and be all. So is Henry Gale the N all be all for the others? Since he's like the wizard of Oz? Okay, never mind. Wait, I gotta stretch before I do all that reaching. I didn't stretch properly.

SPEAKER_00

In terms of the title, one of them.

SPEAKER_02

Obviously, uh you want you wanna talk about Henry Gale, one of them, the others. But also I don't think it has to do with Saeed, like he's become someone he never thought he was gonna be. He's one of them now. Yeah. Yay! I got an A plus in the pot Chris. Okay, yeah.

SPEAKER_00

No, that that's pretty much all I was gonna say.

SPEAKER_02

What is it with Sawyer fucking animals? Hogs, frogs. I hate him.

SPEAKER_00

I was like, what the fuck? Henry says that his wife died of a sickness, and Rousseau has mentioned the sickness, and Desmond mentioned the sickness. Any just thoughts on that?

SPEAKER_02

It was bird flu. I don't know. They got they got COVID. It was COVID-19. I don't know. I don't know. Well they have fever, were they coughing though? Good point, you know. The buplonic plague is back. Okay. You saw that, right? Let's not. I just I just like bring it on. Like, I don't even care anymore.

SPEAKER_00

So that's about it for this episode. Um anything. So you don't believe okay, so you don't believe his story, I guess?

SPEAKER_02

No. I don't take anything he said. No, I don't think at this point. Okay, so the only reason I believe Desmond is because you saw where he's Desmond. Well no, no, the only reason I believe Desmond when he came to the show is because you know where he came from. You know the pos you know the situation. Uh-huh. Him? You don't know anything about him, so I believe nothing he says.

SPEAKER_00

Okay, but we've seen that the others know this island. Correct. So what are the odds like that he gets himself caught?

SPEAKER_02

They also know that they're mastered to getting into the into the groups. Okay. So he got caught in the trap? Bullshit. I just infiltrated, like, come on. Like I said, any new character at this point, depending on their backstory, you you can't trust them at this point because you just don't know. So you had the air to side of caution. And like I said before, only reason Desmond you kinda trusted because you kind of knew his backstory before. Like the likelihood that he was an other was kind of slim.

SPEAKER_00

But based on your reasoning, why? Why is it slim? I mean, because they came upon him. How do you know he was not an other just living down there doing some other business? Good point.

SPEAKER_02

I also feel he was such a rush to get the fuck out of Dodge. Like, I don't in the past.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, because maybe he was afraid and ran back to Otherville.

SPEAKER_02

I don't know. There's something about the Desmond story. I don't think he's uh maybe I might be wrong. But I don't know. I just feel like a character coming out of nowhere, like Ethan did and um Henry did. You're like, really? Really? Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

So the next episode is maternity leave. And you wanna you wanna take a guess about that episode and who and what it might be about? That's a hard one.

SPEAKER_02

I don't know. You haven't really answered, you don't have to answer that, do you?

unknown

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Alright.

SPEAKER_02

We know it's about Claire.

SPEAKER_00

So okay.

SPEAKER_02

What would you like to see in that episode? First, I'm like, okay, maternity leave. Obviously, it's about when she was pregnant. So I'm like, this is another flashback.

SPEAKER_00

Well, it's definitely gonna have flashbacks.

SPEAKER_02

Well, yeah, no, I know, but like what time Okay. So I'm like, okay, so definitely a flashback. But what time period? Because obviously when she was pregnant, I'm like, but what didn't we what did we miss while she was pregnant? What more about her pre- or pregnancy story in Australia did we miss? I'm like, I don't know. Then she was pregnant on the island, and I'm like, okay, so either it's a time or place. The first flashback on when she was pregnant in Australia, you got the they talked about when she first found out she was pregnant, and then it kind of jumped to the guy telling her the adopted family, and you know, she was already like pregnant, pregnant.

SPEAKER_01

Mm-hmm.

SPEAKER_02

So Ethan! Ethan! When they kidnapped her. I I just talked about Ethan too.

SPEAKER_00

Holy shit. Said says Claire was kidnapped, and God only knows what happened to her during that. That's why I said Ethan. Ethan was the guy who kidnapped her. In the next episode, maternity leave, it is revealed what happens to her. What happened to her. Dun dun dun. So you're gonna find that out.

SPEAKER_02

Interesting. After seeing another oh, go ahead. I really don't appreciate the synopsis no longer saying in the jungle. Sorry. I really I don't know. I can't get my whole letter to the editor. Do that. I feel like they did it intentionally so I can stop singing.

SPEAKER_00

After seeing another Said episode, any new thoughts on Saeed? Aside from you know, thinking that he'd be the leader if he wasn't Iraqi.

SPEAKER_02

Okay, yeah, no, other than that, no. I still like him. I like he has moments you're like, dude, dude, turn it down, dude. But overall, I like Saeed. And I I think his character is going to break any sh any day now over the loss of Shannon. I think we saw that crack with Henry. And he's going to in a normal, healthy way, because that's what happens with the loved one, he's gonna lose his shit, and I think it's gonna happen relatively soon. I can't wait to see that. I hate when you do that, Lisa.

SPEAKER_00

So next episode is clear, so that's that's a good episode. We're gonna get some goodies in there. Okay.

SPEAKER_02

We still got four more seasons to go, don't we? Mm-hmm. We're almost done with season two. That's why I said just four more seasons.

SPEAKER_00

One, two, after okay. One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight. There's nine more episodes for this season. But I feel like they go faster than season one. Okay. Maternity Leave is next. That's a good episode. The Whole Truth is a good episode. Lockdown is a good episode, Dave is a good episode. SOS is like, eh. It's good, but Two for the Road is a good episode. Question Mark is a good episode, and then the next two are three minutes and then the season finale. So they're all pretty good episodes.

SPEAKER_02

Three minutes sounds ominous. Like just the title alone? Like, uh sh do you know what can happen in three minutes? Like then, like, what the fuck? Okay. I do know what can happen in three minutes. Is that what is that kind of episode, right? Because you're like three minutes, like, oh shit, three minutes. Like, it's like the most obtuse, random title is the one that gets you scared. You're like, fuck, fuck three minutes.

SPEAKER_00

Like, what does that mean? Yeah, I'm I know I've said this before, and I I know I sound like a broken record, but like I'm so excited to get to these later season two episodes. Promises, promises. Okay, but I told you this was gonna be a good episode, and it was.

SPEAKER_02

They're good episodes. They're listening I'm telling you, the episodes in season two thus far are better than season one.

SPEAKER_00

Yes. And we've got a new character, you know, a new group of people in the mix. Like, well, we got Henry this episode, so that's a whole new storyline. And we're gonna get more about it next episode.

SPEAKER_02

I just want the crib notes for the rest of the rest of the series.

SPEAKER_00

So uh do I do I see you meet back here tomorrow after watching maternity leave?

SPEAKER_02

I got the four more bottles in the freezer, so yeah, I guess I can get drunk enough.

SPEAKER_00

Uh Alex brought home this pomegranate tequila liqueur. I was gonna drink it, but I haven't tasted it yet, and it looks so good. So maybe tomorrow that's what I'll drink.

SPEAKER_01

It's a liqueur?

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, but it's pomegranate and tequila.

SPEAKER_01

But it's liqueur.

SPEAKER_02

That's what it says. So I don't know how it works. Definitely don't drink it straight. You definitely gotta mix it with something, and I'm trying to think. Seltzer goes with everything. Yeah, I guess so. Oh, you can make a beautiful dessert with that. I'm not really a baker. That's a you thing. Okay, oh you know, you just slice some ediments pound cake, fried up some butter with a liqueur over it. Maybe. And some cool whip. Maybe.

unknown

Oh whip.

SPEAKER_02

Love this family guy.

SPEAKER_00

Alright, let's finish this. I have to eat something. I need Burger King in my life. Alright. And and White Castle. Yeah, I did that last week. But I did it. Well, then you should come here, okay? Because you may have Burger King, but you don't have White Castle.

SPEAKER_02

I also got a cranky old sick mother. Last time I went away, she had a stroke. So I'm so terrified of leaving the house. Never mind the state. I swear to God. Yeah. Talking about my anxiety. Be logical and shit. Being responsible adults sucks balls. Does.

SPEAKER_00

It really does. Let's laugh this up. Stay tuned next time for the next episode where we will discuss maternity leave and get into Claire's story. And will Agnes be satisfied with what she finds out about what happened to Claire? Will she learn everything she wants to learn? Will she like what happens to her? Stay tuned for that.
