Because I'm a fucking asshole. Because I've had this thing, like I've been like stuck on stupid by particular brands, lemonade. I know what brand it is, but so they have like the styrofoam cups and all that, and they have like chopped ice. So I had I just had some lemonade. So I had the styrofoam cup full of the chopped ice. So I put my drink in that. So it's a little bit like the pulp and lemonade. So that's awesome. That's so it's just like sounds real good. I was like, uh my god, be jelly.

Okay. So obviously the bombshell, because if we got it this far with us, you've probably seen the episode, is about um Claire's father. Now, wasn't there an episode of like a hundred years ago? Fucking lost, um, where you've realized that that was her father?

No. It like there was an episode where it was an Anna Lucia flashback where you see Christian going to a door and there's a blonde-haired woman, and Christian is yelling, saying, like, but she's my daughter, she's my daughter.

I think, and I was like, Oh, you you could right, you can jump to that conclusion, but nothing was ever.

Because in my head was already confirmed. That's why I'm like, okay, another bombshell. My thing was it questioned, I was like, oh, okay, then now we know why she never said they're the Jack because she didn't even know the dude's name, you know.

So I'm like she had no idea up until very recently that her father was alive, alive, and then she didn't even want to know his name, right?

Okay, so and just one thing about this week and last week. I just want to see how loud my cat can snore this week. Because Simon, my Siamese, get it, Simon Siamese. He snores like a truck driver. So right now he's curled up on my leg, my little love bug. Okay, I love my cats.

Let's do Claire flashback to 99. A left eye with heavy black eyeliner slowly opens. It's Goth Claire. She awakens slowly to realize that she is sitting in her automobile immediately after a severe car accident. She is cut, her airbag is deployed and deflated, and her mother has been thrown through the broken window onto the pavement. When her door does not work, Claire crawls through the broken windshield to reach her mother, who remains motionless. In the hospital, Claire's forehead is stitched and a policeman, Officer Barnes, enters and questions her about the accident. She becomes very defensive when she believes he is implying that the fault was hers or that her mother may die. Returning to the hospital after briefly going home for a shower, Claire finds her Aunt Lindsay in her mother's room. They have a brief confrontation where Claire is accused of not caring about her mother when a doctor enters the room. He informs them that the surgery has stabilized her mother's condition, but that she may be in a permanent coma. When Lindsay says they can't afford such long-term medical care, the doctor reveals that the entire medical bill has been covered by an anonymous benefactor. Claire later returns to visit her mother and finds an American doctor, Christian Shepherd, in the room, lightly touching her mother's forearm. When Lindsay enters the room, she immediately demands to know why he's there and begins to argue heatedly with him. Claire is confused as to who he is and how Lindsay knows him. Eventually, the man reveals that he is Claire's father, whom she had been told was dead. Sometime later, Claire is working in a tattoo in piercing parlor. I just okay, side note, Claire's there piercing people's ears, and all I can think about is like, is she the inspiration behind the show Claire's? The store?

But maybe they changed it. Maybe it's not before Claire. Okay, I'm stupid. I've been drinking.

Claire is where everybody goes to get their ear pierced. They went right to the the leader, Claire herself. Or is it like if you name your person Claire, right? If you name your kid Claire and they have to pierce ears, it's like if you name your person like Destiny, they have to be a stripper. Okay, edit. Um don't edit, don't edit.

He asks her to join him for coffee before he leaves Australia. And although she is angry, she agrees.

I mean it's coffee. Who's this coffee? Coffee coffee? I'm going to Starbucks. If you're paying.

At the coffee shop, Christian explains that he had a fling with her mother that resulted in her birth. He also says that he had visited occasionally when she was younger, but that the fact that he had another family in the States eventually made her mother and Lindsay too resentful for his visits to continue. Christian suggests that Claire should consider taking steps which are not illegal and would allow her mother's suffering to end. Claire cannot agree and tries to leave without even wanting to know her father's name. He cautions her not to allow her guilt for her mother's condition to cloud her decision. Years later, in 2004, Claire's mother is still in the hospital in a coma. Claire visits her, a visit which is routine. Claire is now a blonde and is obviously pregnant. She turns the television on to a nature program showing a scene of migratory birds flying in formation. She explains to her unconscious mother that she is pregnant and is about to give the baby away for adoption. She also apologizes to her mother, explaining that now she understands how hard it was for her mother to raise her, especially because she was such a difficult daughter. She becomes overwhelmed with guilt and begins to sob. She apologizes for arguing with her mother during the fateful car ride where she told her that she hated her and wished she was dead, and describes the guilt she feels for the accident. On the island, Claire opens her right eye, awakening in her tent to a plate of fruit besides her with a message attached to it that reads, Good day. Charlie arrives at her tent carrying Aaron and tells her about a picnic he has planned on the beach. He has arranged for Sun and Jin to take care of Aaron while they dine. Before Charlie and Claire can settle into their picnic, Desmond comes out of the jungle asking for Charlie to come hunting with him, saying his time would be better spent hunting. Charlie is reluctant, but Desmond persists. He has an ulterior motive. Just then, Claire notices gulls flying in the air and announces that she has realized realized a possible way of getting off the island. Claire explains to Charlie that the gulls are migrating south and that scientists have tagged them to see where they land. She devises a plan to capture a gull and tie a rescue note to its leg in hopes that a scientist will find it and read it. She attempts to persuade Charlie as well, but he is uncharacteristically pessimistic, refusing to help. While Jim prepares a net, Claire and Son chop up fish to use as bait. As they do so, Sun muses that this is precisely what her mother feared, her growing up to do mundane fishing work. Claire and Son briefly discuss their parents' expectations for them before the net is completed and they begin the gull catching. Eventually, a lone bird is attracted into the trap but is startled and flies off when Desmond fires a rifle. He claims to be boar hunting. Frustrated, Claire demands that Charlie tell her why he and Desmond do not want her to catch a bird. Charlie spins a story about false hope and she sends Charlie away saying that she does not want liars raising Aaron. Distraught, Claire decides to find out what is going on for herself. She surreptitiously follows Desmond to a rocky area off the coastline where he effortlessly plucks a gold from the seaweed mount on the rocks. Claire confronts Desmond, noting he went straight to the hidden bird, so he must have known it would be there. After an initial denial, Desmond explains his vision of the future. He gestures to a rock and claims that it is the location where Charlie, attempting to get a bird for Claire, would have slipped and fallen into the ocean, then died in the treacherous currents under the rocky shoreline. Returning to camp, Claire is no longer angry with Charlie. She writes a rescue note and Charlie ties it to the bird's leg. The note informs the reader of the survivor's current circumstances and encourages whoever finds it to never give up hope on finding them. Claire releases the bird while Charlie solemnly stands beside her. As the bird flies away from the pair, Claire tells Charlie that Desmond told her everything about his visions of Charlie's death. She promises that they can face his supposedly doomed fate together, and that she has not given up hope on him. On the way to the barracks.

I have a question. Like, okay, the first time you don't get it. The second time with um when she's drowning, you know, he the second time Desmond saves Charlie. I'm like, like something clicks.

So um that should be your hand. Like, Charlie, I give Charlie my I get it because he's so in love, and you you can't see it because you're in it. I get it. But Desmond doesn't see, like, no one sees a pattern. Okay. Um that was my that was my only thought on this particular on island.

On the way to the barracks, Said, Locke, Kate, Rousseau, and Mikhail are resting momentarily while Said and Locke begin to argue about the relative merits of following the electrical conduit map found in the Flame Station versus following Echo Stick. Sounds like a solid argument.

I mean, to be fair, Echo Stick, get them that get them that far. I can lean I'm just supporting my man, okay?

By a stream, when Kate is alone with Rousseau, Kate asks her why she is not interested in details about her daughter. Rousseau explains that her daughter will not recognize her, will not know of her years or efforts to find her, and quite possibly Rousseau will not like what her daughter has become. Later in their journey, when Kate asks Mikhail how he arrived on how he arrived on the island, he recalls that he was approached by a man when he was twenty four and he arrived on a submarine. He explains that the submarine can freely leave the island, but since the recent deactivation of the underwater beacon after the electromagnetic pulse, it would not be able to return to the island if it left. When Kate says that she can't understand why they would remain on the island willingly, Mikhail replies that they simply are not capable of understanding. Upon further questioning, he says that only those on the list are able to understand their reasons, but that Kate, Locke, and Saeed are flawed and therefore not on the list. He also explains that the list was made by the same magnificent man who brought all of his people to the island. Kate laughs, thinking he is talking about Ben, but Mikhail explains that Ben is not that man. He also lists specific reasons for why they aren't on the list. Kate is flawed, Locke is angry, and Said is weak and afraid. What do you think the list is, and who do you think is the magnificent man? Do you think we've met him yet?

Okay, so he talked, okay, so right here he's talking about a list of magnificent men, and he's talking about their flaws.

So and I'm Okay, how do you not get the religious aspects to that? Like the cult, like not only say cultish, but it's very aligned with the religious untones in this show. So how am I not supposed to think that they're already dead? And the list is like say is like at the early gates, like, no, you're not the list down with you go. You can you go on, you go ahead and go in.

Like, all right. So if if that part wasn't creepy enough, then you know, Said indignantly laughs that the others are not really omniscient. Mikhail immediately begins addressing them all by their full names. He also sarcastic sarc uh he also sarcastically begins to say that everyone is a stranger to him, save Locke, but that he must be mistaken about Locke because the John Locke he was aware of was para and then he's cut off. He was cut off by Rousseau, who beckons for the group to examine what she has discovered while he and Locke share a grim knowing look. Because Locke knows that he knows that his ass is in a wheelchair. I I still think it's I don't know, it's an so now he so not only does he know their flaws, he also knows their full names and clearly has knowledge of them.

So back to my thought process on they were supposed to be on that plane and they were supposed to be on this island because or or the communication, they somehow had the did they have the manifest? No, the manifest was with the survivors because they looked over the manifest and try to find everybody. I don't fucking know. My head's spinning. I don't fucking know. Move on.

Okay. Rousseau has discovered a series of metallic posts with knobs on either side of the top directly across their intended path to the barracks. When asked what its purpose is, Mikael responds that it was once supposed to guard the barracks, but like everything else, it is now broken. He also claims that the system entirely encircles the barracks so that going around it is not an option, and tells Sae to confirm this on the map. Locke deliberately puts down his pack and forcefully pushes Mikhail forward into the line of the security fence between two of the pylons. An intense buzzing sounds, and Mikhail has time enough to reply, thank you, before he begins foaming at the mouth, then is thrown backward, blood gushing out of his nose and ears, apparently dead. You think that was a good thing or bad thing what Locke did?

Um, I think at this point, dude wasn't gonna be helpful to them at all. So he was just honestly just keeping him around was just more of a risk of him killing one of them and his whatever the case may be. So I think whether he wanted to shut him up about him being paralyzed or he was just annoyed by his constant bullshit, that's why I feel like I I think it either way is like okay, you know what? You used he wasn't, he needs to be it need to be done.

I feel like at face value, it was like, oh, this is why we kept him around, like to test the theory. But like anything else in Lost, I feel like, well, John has a history of always doing the wrong thing, so you know, who knows?

I I don't think he would have I can I understand why um Said didn't want to kill him, but at the same time, he was a liability, he was a danger.

Yeah, I definitely agree with that.

But he needed to go, and the fact that he went that way, it was a blessing. And I think honestly, the guy was like he was trying to sacrifice himself anyway. So good. I gave you what you wanted. All right, let's move on to the next problem.

Said angrily questions Locke's motive for accompanying them. Kate and Said then discover C4 in Locke's backpack, showing that he may have been intentionally careless in destroying the flame.

Okay, so there was a scene because the last episode, Locke is home like, well, if you told me that there was the basement was and so this way he goes, Why did you take this? He was my question was you knew it, which is fine. My question is, why didn't you take it? I'm just saying if there's just there's supplies.

I I think okay, personally, I would say so. The whole thing was that Locke hit the button and blew up the flame. And the argument from Saeed was look at what you did, and and Locke is like, well, maybe if you had told me that it was lined with C4, I wouldn't have done that.

So all of that, right? So but the thing is that they both didn't know. So it's like I don't know if Locke necessarily let's play devil's advocate. Let's say Locke didn't know that it was gonna blow up. Said probably figured, well, I can I can go back. Like he left all the binders, all the manuals. I mean, if you think about About it, that that's you know a nice hub for communication. So Said is probably like, let's move on for now, but we can come back. Okay, that makes sense.

But also, my thing is you are going into their territory. It would behoove you to be prepared as much as possible. Maybe not take all the C4, but you don't know what you're gonna come across. You don't know what you're gonna need. So why did you like my back to my original? Why didn't you take something? Right, right.

So well, and then the and then him having the C4 in his backpack proves that Locke not only knew but lied about it. Well, yeah, that's bad. Kate suggests going over the pylons and the four divides a ramp out of a tree. Kate goes over first, as usual. Kate's like, I'll do it. And then Locke. The group soon arrive at the outskirts of the barracks, which is revealed to be the same location as depicted in the opening scene of his tale of two cities. A more modern suburb-like area complete with inviting houses, sidewalks, decorative landscaping, and recreational utilities. As they continue hiding in the surrounding foliage, they suddenly see Jack racing toward their hiding place. Kate utters his name as she begins to move toward him, but Said holds her back long enough to see that Jack is enjoying a game of football with Tom. Jack spikes the football to the ground, happily simulating a touchdown. And the episode ends. Bananas. I was like, what's going on with Jack? You think he got like turned or turned out?
