What's happening?
SPEAKER_01You know what's happening?
SPEAKER_00I I don't understand.
SPEAKER_01Why it was your responsibility, but you gave him away, Claire.
SPEAKER_02Everyone pays the price now.
SPEAKER_05Welcome everyone to this episode of Sass and Sips, where every week we will be discussing and dissecting an episode of Lost in Order. We'll do our best to avoid spoilers for those of you who'd like to watch along with us. Neither of us are experts, just fans who like to drink and dish, and who are still trying to figure out how best to get this audio working good. We are your hosts. I'm Lisa.
SPEAKER_01And I'm Agnes.
SPEAKER_05And thank you for being with us today. What are you doing? Hello, Lisa.
SPEAKER_02Hi Agnes.
SPEAKER_05What you drinking?
SPEAKER_01I am I'm feeling kind of fancy schmancy today.
SPEAKER_02I'm having a bellini cocktail. Oh shit.
SPEAKER_05And I thought I was fancy with my mimosa.
SPEAKER_02I'm sick and sweetin' now.
SPEAKER_05All righty then. This is gonna be fun.
SPEAKER_02There's gonna be something alright.
SPEAKER_05Listen, after our last week's shit show, this is gonna be good. Can we block it out? I think so. Solitary and we couldn't get our shit together.
SPEAKER_02See, that sounds like every episode. That's all, but okay.
SPEAKER_05So last week we tried Skype for the first time, and this week we're trying it again. So the fact that we can see each other is it's like shiny objects for the both of us.
SPEAKER_02I'm on my end trying to make her laugh as she's talking. I'm having some success. As she looks into her lap to avoid looking at me.
SPEAKER_05I'm looking at my notes.
SPEAKER_02Unlikely story.
SPEAKER_05On the island is day 15. Claire wakes up in the night. She hears a baby's cry. She sits up with a confused and concerned expression on her face. She looks down and feels her stomach, noticing that she is not pregnant. She hears the cry again and starts off into the jungle in a daze, looking for the source of the crying. Claire sees a light in the jungle and walks towards it, where she encounters Locke sitting at the table at which she received her psychic reading. The psychic's electric lamp is also present. As she approaches, Locke is drawing tarot cards from a deck one by one as he stares down at the table. The first card makes the sound of metal against metal, like a knife being unsheathed. They exchange a few brief words. As Locke finishes saying this, he looks up at her with a creepy expression on his face. He has one black eye and one white eye. Claire hears the baby's cry and runs into the jungle. She finds a crib with a plain mobile and pulls the blankets back, finding a thick, dark pool of blood. She wakes up from this nightmare and she begins screaming. Claire stands in the cave screaming hysterically. Charlie grabs her to stop her screams and fighting as she wakes up. She eventually calms down. Charlie notices her bloody hands and asks, What happened? What did you think when you saw this?
SPEAKER_02The first scene?
SPEAKER_05Yeah, the the opening scene.
SPEAKER_02The opening scene.
SPEAKER_05Which is also our little teaser.
SPEAKER_02I'm trying to think. I think this at this point of my TV view my TV viewing life was lost.
SPEAKER_01I was like, okay, what's next? What is this gonna lead to? I think right now I'm so busy trying to like remember some little nuances and stuff. I'm not paying attention to the bigger picture. But obviously, there's some kind of anxiety with the baby, and then she remembers when we first thought how talking about it, and the fact it refused to do her reading. I'm like, uh-oh.
SPEAKER_03But that was it. I was kind of like, okay, give me more.
SPEAKER_05What about when Locke looks up, his eyes? One is black and one is white.
SPEAKER_03I had no idea.
SPEAKER_01I was like, okay, that's interesting. And then it's like creative license, so I I didn't read much into this one. I was like, oh okay. Because I actually the first time I saw the episode, I didn't even notice it until it was the second time. Because I watched the show to watch it, and then I'd watch it again until I can already know what to talk about. So much. I just took it as creative license and the fact that they think block is weird on some kind of level, and she fell in her dream other than that like that.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, but what about is this a goose egg?
SPEAKER_03Like, is this something I eat not a goose egg? I need to be aware of.
SPEAKER_05There's a big light versus dark overall theme. And remember in in one of his first scenes when he's talking to Walt and he's talking about the game.
SPEAKER_02The game pieces.
SPEAKER_05And how one is light and one is dark. And then when you find Adam and Eve in the caves, they have a light stone and a dark stone.
SPEAKER_01So I have a question. Here's my question for you, old lost mistress. Oh, that's a new title, The Lost Mistress. You guys should see her face right now.
SPEAKER_02Um when you first watched the show, you go back to your past self, 10, 15, 20 years ago, whatever making up numbers now. Did these things like did you take did you notice any of these things? Did you notice Locke's eyes with the game pieces and the film?
SPEAKER_01Because I feel like I'm just I feel like I'm failing as a TV watcher. Because these little things I'm like, oh, okay.
SPEAKER_05I don't know if I don't remember if I caught it as much, but he caught it, and we always watch together. And so it was definitely something I was aware of.
SPEAKER_03Something likely failing. Okay, good. Because you didn't catch it either. Okay.
SPEAKER_02I didn't see like a like a measuring stick on how well I'm doing.
SPEAKER_05It wasn't until I read about the lamp. I never noticed that it was the same lamp from the psychic's office until I read it.
SPEAKER_03Okay. Listen, the writers were just a little bit too they were doing too much, a little extra, but okay.
SPEAKER_05That's the problem with this show is that I feel every time you watch it you can find something new that you didn't catch before.
SPEAKER_03How much of it was intentional? And some of them were just like, oh look, this is what happened. We used the same prop in both these scenes. Let's make that some let's make that something.
SPEAKER_05Well this how Go ahead. This I would say is definitely intentional because he's reading tarot cards.
SPEAKER_03You know, and giving her intentional and giving her a message.
SPEAKER_05Some of it probably is unintentional, and some of it they probably just went back and said, Okay, well, hey, we had this and this, let's just add to that.
SPEAKER_03Alright, fine.
SPEAKER_05I like to think that they had a plan, but I really don't know.
SPEAKER_02And there's I just think it's just way too much n it's just way too many things for it to be intentional. It's a lot of little things, and I'm sure some of it's intentional, but like come, what are the odds that all of it was intentional?
SPEAKER_05Yeah. There's a lot of varying stories regarding that. Some people say they knew all along where the show is going, some people say they don't. I don't really know what's true and what's not.
SPEAKER_02What was your thought on the theme when you first saw it a hundred years ago?
SPEAKER_05Holy fuck, what the fuck?
SPEAKER_02I feel like I am just so just na shalom. I'm like, okay, that happened. All right.
SPEAKER_05I mean, I was sucked in immediately. So it was all just gravy.
SPEAKER_01Oh, I have a surprise for you.
unknownOkay.
SPEAKER_01I don't know how maybe I should wait till the end of the show to tell you. I've been waiting a week to tell you this. So when I saw this episode, do you know what I did? You wouldn't know what Texas did.
SPEAKER_04Tell me.
SPEAKER_01I watched the next episode.
SPEAKER_02And after I watched that, I followed up with another episode. I was kind of in it. I'm in it. And if you say it, stop doing your dance.
SPEAKER_05I'm doing the Chandler dance. So how many more do how many more degrees? Are we how many more degrees are we now? Are we like last week you were at 30? Is this like maybe you're like 175 now?
SPEAKER_01175. I am at like 90. Don't push it. But I watched episodes back to back to back. I was like, oh, this is good. Okay, next. So yeah. Well, you could give me like binging for the whole day, then you could do your Monica and Tampa dance.
SPEAKER_05Oh, okay.
SPEAKER_01You know what we could do? You could be Monica and I could be Ross. And I could catch you the routine.
SPEAKER_02The New Year's Eve dance. Yeah, you could do it. Let's do it. Don't hold up when you're dancing yet.
SPEAKER_05As I dance.
SPEAKER_01I should have catched and never told you.
SPEAKER_05Hey everyone, Lisa here. I want to take a moment to tell you about this really cool travel backpack that I got. It's made by Muslim and it's so cool. As you know, Agnes and I are not in the same state. So we travel to see each other quite frequently. This backpack makes it so easy to do so. The bag has space for everything. When I fly, I don't like to check a bag. This makes it so easy for me to bring everything that I need with me on carry-on, including recording equipment. It has a space for everything. Trust me when I say that if you travel, even if it's just for a road trip, this bag is perfect for you. Go to muzzum.com now and use our promo code SASPOD for 20% off of your new bag. Trust me when I say you'll love it. In the morning, Jack sees to her hands, commenting that she must have had one hell of a nightmare to have dug her nails a quarter of an inch into their palms. Claire implies that perhaps it was not a nightmare, but Jack shrugs the event off as sleepwalking and stress. He begins to ask questions about Claire's pregnancy. In the first flashback, Claire leaves the bathroom and her boyfriend Thomas asks her what the result is. She has just taken a pregnancy test and the two panic about the result. Time elapses and Claire realizes that she is indeed with child. The thought petrifies her, but Thomas reassures her. He says that he loves her and a baby might be the best thing ever. At the beach, Jack finds Kate watching the ocean. The two begin to flirt as Kate explains that she is sinking in the sand due to the effect of the waves. She remarks that Said had been gone for almost a week, but Jack says something tells me he'll be okay. Then with a concerned look on his face, he tells Kate that Claire will have the baby soon. Charlie and Claire sit in the jungle having a quiet moment with the cup of tea. They talk about her nightmare, and Charlie says that if she never she ever needs anything, he's there for her. She seems touched but does not reply, and Charlie interprets that as a hint that he should go. In another flashback, Claire discusses the situation with her friend Rachel, telling Rachel how excited he she was. They arrive at the home of a psychic, Richard Malkin, whom Rachel has convinced her friend to see. Inside, the psychic reads Claire's palm and immediately congratulates her on the pregnancy. His face then tightens as though he has seen something frightening. He swiftly returns Claire's money and refuses to continue the reading, ushering the two women out. Once again at night, on the island, Claire sees a man covering her mouth and stabbing her stomach with a needle. She wakes, screaming loudly just like the night before. She says that someone attacked her, and Charlie and Hurley go scout the area. Jack and Michael try to comfort her, but Claire is adamant that what she saw was real, and that somebody truly was trying to hurt her baby. The event leads Hurley to realize that none of the survivors have any idea who their fellow survivors on the island really are. He wants to start a census of who everyone is, where they live, in the caves or on the beach, and other information about them. Meanwhile, Charlie reassures Claire that he will watch over her all night. Back at her apartment in a flashback, Claire is busy childproofing and redecorating the place. However, Thomas quickly causes her mood to change, saying that he cannot do this anymore. The reality of having a child has given Thomas cold feet, and he mentions Claire's daddy abandonment issues in an attempt to lay the blame on her for his pulling away in the relationship. The two begin to argue, and Thomas continues with his cold comments, saying that Claire was supposed to be taking contraception and insinuating that she intentionally got pregnant. So this is another little seed. Claire's daddy abandonment issues.
SPEAKER_01Okay, I'm taking mom and dad. Question, does that any is anything to do with the reason she's on the island? Probably not. But we know well, I have an idea of why she's on the island. But her parents don't tell. Look at the look on your face. I wish people was the look on your face. Alright, I'll remember it. Okay, the little seeds into her. The little nuances that is clear. Okay.
SPEAKER_05Okay. The next day on the island, day 16, Hurley asks La questions about his background and his reason for traveling to Australia. John answers the questions, saying he came to Sydney looking for something, and he has lived most of his life in Tustin, California. Further down the coast, Jack tells Charlie and Kate that he thinks Claire is merely dreaming. Charlie cannot believe he is suggesting that Claire is lying, but Jack attributes it to the stress and emotional imbalance of her pregnancy on the island. In the jungle, Hurley questions Ethan Rom. Ethan answers the questions, saying he is from Ontario. He asks what the census is for, and Hurley says he simply thought it would be a good idea.
unknownHey!
SPEAKER_00Lance! Sorry? Lance. Your name's Lance, right? Ethan. Dude, that's right. Lance little skinny guy with glasses and red hair. I can see how you'd confuse us. Sorry, dude. Lots of names and faces. Pretty pathetic, huh? I think after a couple weeks on the island with the same people, we'd all know each other. Yeah, you're right. You would think so. So uh we're doing this list, you know, survivors, names, home addresses, stuff like that. Okay, well, you already have my name. No lands. Uh last name? Rom. Rom, R-O-M? That's right. Great. Where are you from? Ethan? Rom, Ontario? Right on. Love Canada. Great uh. Why don't you do it? Thanks for your time, dude. Hey, what's this for? Oh, it's nothing. Just uh, you know, thought it'd be a good idea.
SPEAKER_05Charlie is such an easygoing guy. And he's trying to put people at ease, make conversation, get the census, and he he messed up his name, and then he's like, Wow, you think we know each other by now. And Ethan, Ethan is like, Yeah. And on first glance, you don't really catch it. You know, it just seems like natural banter. But then by the end of the episode, you're like, that motherfucker.
SPEAKER_01But he did come out of left field. But like, is it like like I didn't think anything of it because last week's episode when the guy with the hypochondriac, and it's like they're gonna have to weave people in eventually, so you really don't think anything of it at all.
SPEAKER_05It was it was beautiful the way they got him in there. Nobody saw it coming in. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Good job, writers. Like they need my approval, but okay.
unknownAll right.
SPEAKER_01Ward-winning writers need at my approval. Yeah, okay.
SPEAKER_05At the caves, Jack tries to tactfully tell Claire he thinks she should take some sedatives.
SPEAKER_01Claire realizes that Jack thinks she's trying to take another sip of your mimosa.
SPEAKER_05Because I was thinking about something funny in my head and I can't keep reading. Packing her things, she decides to go back to the beach where she thinks she is safer than the caves. So when he gives her the sedatives and he tells her that they're safe, and many women take them in situations like yours, and all I could think of is oh yeah, because how many women are stranded nine months pregnant on an island with polar bears?
SPEAKER_01You know, and there's I don't know if this is I think it was a rough I might be a little bit too soon.
SPEAKER_05Some jungle monster.
SPEAKER_01But he's talking to um Kate about you know, she's gonna have a baby soon, and it'll be too early, and this is not good. And I'm like, she's doing a couple of weeks, it's not that early. That was the first thought that was my first thought. That's how anal I am. I'm like, um, if she has a baby now, she won't be early. You just said she's doing a week or two.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, I think um I interpreted that as him just keeping hope that she doesn't give birth on the island.
SPEAKER_01I interpreted that as a flip-up in the writing. And they were sorry. I was like, what kind of doctor are you? Oh anyway, but that was just me.
SPEAKER_05He's not an O V G Y N. But they did this like in Junior High School. Yes, I know.
SPEAKER_01You're talking to another one, you're talking to a woman, and she should never be like, um, she won't be early. Somebody would have been like, um, dude.
SPEAKER_05Go sit down with Boone and have some cookies though.
SPEAKER_01Yes. I'm okay. I just want to put that point out there. I'm 100% sure there's of our four listeners, two of them would probably like kill me in my sleep if we were standing on the hyphen right now. Because I know I'm annoying. I am anal. I'm annoying. I get it. I own it.
SPEAKER_05We have another flashback here. The psychic opens his door to find Claire there, requesting a second reading. She jokes as he counts her cash, and the psychic notes that Claire has been dumped. He notes that what he sees is blurry and she wants to continue. He says it is crucial that Claire raises the child herself and her goodness must influence the baby's development. Claire says she will put the baby up for adoption unless Thomas returns, but Malcol insists that she must listen. As he continues to shout, Claire runs away in fear. At night, Claire wakes up as her phone rings. On the other end is Malcolm, who has apparently been calling Claire for months now. He again insists she keep the baby, and he says he has a plan. Claire, however, does not listen and hangs up on him.
SPEAKER_01So having a psychic call and harass you in the middle night, not creepy at all. That's totally gonna want me to keep my baby. And this is such yeah, not creepy, totally normal.
SPEAKER_05Back on the island, Charlie catches up with Claire and escorts her for protection, despite her telling him to leave her alone. At the beach, Hurley has begun questioning Shannon, who is preparing to move to the caves. She answers his questions. Her name is Shannon Rutherford, she is twenty, and her address is Crap Hole Island. She and Boone ask Hurley why he is making the list, and he tells them what may have happened to Claire. Shannon suddenly drops her bags, telling Boone that they are definitely not moving to the rape caves. Boone shrugs off Shannon's words and tells Hurley about the flight manifest. He says the names of the dead have been crossed off, so it should be a full roster of who is left on the island. Hurley asks who has it, and Boone replies, Who do you think? Immediately realizing who he means, Hurley heads to Sawyer's tent. I love when he finds Sawyer here and he's just sunbathing with those little girl glasses.
SPEAKER_01He's so cute.
SPEAKER_05Okay.
SPEAKER_01You find pleasure in the silliest things. I love that. And that's and that's the stuff that I totally ignored I forget that I saw. I'm like, oh yeah, that did happen.
SPEAKER_05Rather than demand the manifest, Hurley uses the calm approach of analyzing the con man, pointing out that he could really use the points amongst the islanders. The tactic is successful. Sawyer gives him the manifest. As Claire and Charlie continue heading to the beach, Claire begins to feel contractions. Charlie offers to deliver the baby himself, but Claire flatly tells him to go get Jack at once. Now at a solicitor's office, Claire is finalizing details of adoption to Arlene and Joseph Stewart. They agree that Claire will have no legitimate rights to the child and that she will be paid upon the child's birth. Before she signs the document, she requests that the Steward sing a song Catch a Falling Star to the Baby, as her father sang it to her as a child. She tries to sign, but the pen is not working. The lawyer passes her another, but again, ink does not come out. As a third pen is passed to her, Claire begins to have second thoughts and she runs away. Malcolm once more opens his door to find Claire, who tells him she is ready to listen to his plan. Inside, Claire is told that a couple in Los Angeles are good people and that they will take good care of the child. He gives her tickets for Oceanic Flight 815, but Claire is put off by the fact that the flight is only a day away. Malcolm firmly says it cannot be any other flight, and the couple is waiting to meet her in America.
SPEAKER_01I found that before it clicked, my initial reaction to this was very suspect. I'm like, she at the first she has to raise a baby, and now she has to give it away. What in the actual like I'm like, mm-hmm. Suspect. Okay. Really suspect.
SPEAKER_05So now what?
SPEAKER_01Obviously, once they finished a flashback, I was like, uh huh.
SPEAKER_05In the jungle, Charlie finds Ethan and tells him to find Jack immediately. Charlie returns to Claire and helps her calm down. She tells him about the psychic she once visited. And while she thinks he was wrong, Charlie says perhaps he knew of their fate. Claire becomes convinced Malcolm put her on the flight knowing what would happen. She starts to feel better, and Charlie remembers that Jack told him about stress causing a false labor. The relationship between the two is now completely mended, and they decide to head back to the caves. What do you make of what the psychic said?
SPEAKER_01He was trying to kill the bitch. Excuse my language. He was trying to oh let me get his initial prevention.
SPEAKER_05No, no, no. So do you think that he knew that the plane was gonna crash?
SPEAKER_01I think that makes a lot more sense than some than some than some couple in America in America all of a sudden that needs to take the kid take the baby. He was so adamant that only she can raise him and then all these other couples could take it. So I think him trying to kill her makes a lot more sense. God, I didn't think that'll ever come out of my mouth. But yeah, that seems very logical.
SPEAKER_05Assuming he knew that the plane was gonna crash, maybe he knew she was gonna survive.
SPEAKER_01Well, okay, so not that I know everything about everything, but from what I've gathered, and I believe people have six sentences and all that stuff, nothing is it's not exactly clear. You don't get like a movie of what's exactly going to happen. So I think it's quite plausible in TV world that you saw it that something's gonna happen to the plane. And think about it for all intended purposes of the outside world, they're dead. So yeah, I think that's quite plausible. So what gets me about loss, and not just loss, but different shows in general, sometimes too much can ruin a show. So I'm kind of weary of too many awkward things, too many weird shit happening. You're like, wait, what? But what what? I'd say the odds are like 600 different weird things are happening and have nothing to do with each other. Like I just I'm a little weary of. I would think but it comes together and make some kind of weird sense. Oh, I'm gonna get turned off. Like if there's like two if nothing's connected, a whole bit of weird shit and that's connected, I'm going to Yeah, you're gonna lose me. Even though I did watch three episodes.
SPEAKER_05At the caves, Jack and Kate are shocked to see Said stumble in. Saeed is severely dehydrated and delirious, speaking of the French woman. He ominously adds, We are not alone before fainting.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_05Before they can properly take care of him. You hear her, right?
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_05Curly shows up to talk about his list. He has cross-referenced all the names he collected with those on the flight manifest and found that one of them was not on the ladder. That person was not on the plane. Dun dun dun As Claire and As Claire and Charlie begin their trek back, they are greeted by Ethan. Beginning to feel uncomfortable, they ask where Jack is. Ethan simply stares at Claire and a frightened look forms on her face. Thoughts? Did you see that coming?
SPEAKER_01Um, Ethan was kind of weird. Cause I think not I don't think he was weird per se, but there was a scene where they were like, Where's so and so? Oh, he's with Ethan. They're like, Who the hell's Ethan? I was like, Yeah, who is Ethan? Um, so I was like, hmm, but interesting.
SPEAKER_05But they slipped that character in so well. They did. They really did.
SPEAKER_01I felt like the hell did I do? Like, that I miss like Ethan. What? Who? What? Um, I think I thought that was me not paying attention. No. Or I'm j 'cause I assumed there's so many people that survive that's not a main character that eventually a person would come in and out with weave, you know, they'll weave one of the survivors in and out. But when they was like, Well, who's Ethan? I was like, hmm. Interesting. Pretty interesting. But I think but the way she was looking at him, do you think that was mother's intuition? Like something ain't right? Or it was just something, I don't know. I was like, that's more than just intuition fear. That's knowing fear. Right notes, I write notes.
unknownHold on.
SPEAKER_05Alright, what do you want to do first? You wanna do themes? Let's do themes. When Saeed comes back and he's telling Jack about the French woman, Jack obviously already knew about the French woman, but Locke didn't. So Locke has this kind of look, like hmm, he realizes that he's being excluded and things are being kept from him. And I'm just saying you might want to remember that.
SPEAKER_01And that kind of not makes sense. Going into future episodes.
SPEAKER_05Okay, let's talk about Claire's parents.
SPEAKER_01Okay, let's talk about Claire's parents.
SPEAKER_05Okay. In this episode, we learn why Claire was on the plane. Um, because as opposed to the rest of the characters we've seen so far, we've learned about why they were in Australia, but now we learn why she was traveling to Los Angeles.
SPEAKER_01Well, we know why Jack was traveling to Los Angeles.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, but Jack lives in Los Angeles. So he So it's like, what was he doing in Australia? So we know why. Gotcha. We know going.
SPEAKER_01This is obviously the way. Gotcha, gotcha. Right.
SPEAKER_05For her, it's a little bit the opposite because she's she lives in Australia. We hear about her mom practically disowning her and her daddy abandonment issues. So far away.
SPEAKER_01Intertoxic relationship, but go ahead. Yeah.
SPEAKER_05Let's um keep this on the back burner. Play as parent parental issues.
SPEAKER_01We have a lot on the back burner. I need a stove. Okay. There's nothing cooking on the front burners here. I got the back burners all waiting. They're gonna close my restaurant down at this rate.
SPEAKER_05Well, okay. Let's look at this in the bigger picture, okay? What are you doing? Are you lost in your own?
SPEAKER_01I'm doing I'm doing a bigger picture. I'm doing like I'm doing a visual bigger picture.
unknownAlright.
SPEAKER_05So far, out of the characters that we've seen, we've seen a little bit of family issues.
SPEAKER_03A little.
SPEAKER_05Hold on. You're far further ahead than she is, don't say anything. Oh we've seen well, we've seen Jack, and we know that he has some serious daddy issues. Right. And even his mother is like kind of Yeah. We've seen Charlie and her and his brother. And we've seen Son and the fact that there's obviously something between her and her father.
SPEAKER_01I mean, but that's an easy out for the writers in general, because everyone in the world has family issues.
SPEAKER_05And we've seen Sawyer has has alluded to issues with his parents.
SPEAKER_01Everyone does. Give me something that's not so obvious. I don't know. Give me something off the cuff.
SPEAKER_05How about Ethan's name is Ethan Rom, but it's an anagram for other man? What? See, that's so that's interesting. That's some tri I have more interesting stuff, but if I tell you, I will ruin it.
SPEAKER_01The other man. Okay, that the oh so the other man cannot raise her child. Okay, but that and that's okay.
SPEAKER_05Now he I know we're still doing themes and and things, but this is alluding to the title. Raised by another or raised by an other. Other.
SPEAKER_01I get it. That because well that that makes sense because you read the title and then you get like the first 30 seconds you find out what's going on, you're like, okay, title makes sense. But he's the other man. Ah.
SPEAKER_05What do you think about Claire's dream in the beginning? Do you think it was a dream? Do you think it was some kind of premonition? Do you think it um it could have been real? Like the part where she says she was attacked. What do you think of it? Like, what do you think of the whole thing about both of them?
SPEAKER_01I have to say at first I was leaning towards Jack's theory, because that makes sense. Like you're in a situation where you're like, oh, health broke, like this is not normal. And at that point in your pregnancy, we're nesting to begin with. So you add the nesting on top of Stranded Island and the stress, it kind of it was logic. That was a logical conclusion for him to come up to. Um, that being said, I think people in general know when something's not right, when something's when they're in danger. Um, women, especially pregnant women, I think if you listen to your instincts, I think something set her off. I don't know what it was. It might have been just, I don't know, I don't know, premonition, but then some she knew something was going on. Her subconscious was telling her something is not right. I don't know what set that off. I don't know what triggered it. Question the scene where so-and-so asks, it's like, oh, he's with so he's with Ethan. And they're like, who's Ethan? Was Claire around doing that scene?
SPEAKER_04I don't remember.
SPEAKER_01I don't remember either. I don't know. But that's something to think about. Maybe we'll look into it because maybe something that simple may have triggered something. Like, what Ethan? I don't remember that being an Ethan. Because remember, she went through everyone's stuff to have that memorial. Right. So it's possible. I'm just like, I'm gonna have to rewatch that. I'm gonna rewatch that episode. But she was around doing that exchange. Some things, some conscious maybe like, well, I don't know what there was no Ethan. I don't remember see you know, I don't, you know, I don't remember seeing anything about an Ethan. I I don't remember seeing him. Quite possible set up the bad dream. On top of the fact that no one's supposed to raise my baby, you know what I mean? But that's maybe too much into a TV show.
SPEAKER_05Maybe.
SPEAKER_01Maybe that is an Easter egg that I put into the show after the fact, like everyone else.
SPEAKER_05For trivia, we kind of already talked about the title of the episode, but this is the first episode which they mentioned the flight number. Okay. Um, there's more, but I can't tell you.
SPEAKER_01Oh you can't tell me at all? No. I read that okay. You need to make mental notes of all the trivia from past episodes that you can't tell me. That you and when you can't tell me, you can you know.
SPEAKER_05I will. I have I have them all saved. Don't worry.
unknownOkay.
SPEAKER_01So any past trivia from past episodes you can tell me now is still too far in advance. Okay, wait. I mean that's okay. Hold on. Let me let me just double check. So this backtrack.
SPEAKER_05It's not looking good for you. Fine. Hold on, I'm up to solitary. Yep. Nothing.
SPEAKER_01Fine. Be that way. Yep. This leave me hanging, die for no more information.
SPEAKER_05Okay.
SPEAKER_01Okay, so I'm so dramatic.
SPEAKER_05Alright, let's do characters.
SPEAKER_01Okie dokie.
SPEAKER_05Okay. This week we did Claire. No, we gotta stop saying it like that.
SPEAKER_01This week we this week's episode was about Claire. This week we focus on Claire.
SPEAKER_05Your thoughts on Claire?
SPEAKER_01You mean Belle for Once Upon a Time? I still I still think of her as Belle. Okay, her story is kind of cool. Like, okay, everyone, you know, it was that's funny. Like, okay. Hers was like, wait, crazy psychic. What? Say word. Um I was frustrated for her with the douchebag boyfriend. We can do it. Let's have this baby. You pressure me to have the baby. Dude, I'm gonna bitch macro myself. Um, it goes back to if you don't want to do something, don't fucking do it. She didn't want to have the baby. Don't let someone pressure to have a baby. Like, you didn't want to have this child, don't have it. Give it up for adoption. Whatever it is that you feel you need to do, don't do something because you feel like you're sp your significant other wants to. I think there's some topics in life that shouldn't be compromised. I think you need to decide what's a hard no for you, what's a non-negotiable, and what's compromisable for you. And children is one of those things that it's kind of hard to be compromisable about, wanting them or not. So yeah. I'm getting off my feminist soapbox now, and we're moving on.
SPEAKER_05I mean, it's like it's it's like a you know, like a value pack of soap. It's not that high up.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, you're gonna have to you're gonna have to edit half that edit most of that speech out. Why? Because it was totally off topic.
unknownOkay.
SPEAKER_01That that okay was like, yeah, we'll see.
SPEAKER_04You know me so well.
SPEAKER_01Okay, so what's next? What's the next question? Oh, fearless lost mistress.
SPEAKER_05Okay, so the next episode is another episode about Jack. With everything you've known you know about Jack so far, thoughts on him before we see his next episode, even though you've already fucking watched it.
SPEAKER_01Um I'm okay with Jack. I think he makes the hard decisions. Um he annoys me a little bit, but everyone annoys me, so that's normal. I'm easily annoyed by people. But no, I think he does what he has to do to make the hard decisions, and might not always be the popular decision. I think on some level, he likes to play the martyr, though. Like he puts, I think he's he places himself in that position. He's good in that role, but he likes to play the martyr. Like, oh I can't do this, dude. So I'm gonna like you're in the role, you kind of place yourself in that role. I don't want to hear the bullshit out of you. Okay, next, but that's just me. You ever notice after my like my bitchy commentary? I'm like, but that's just me.
SPEAKER_05Alright, that'll do it for this episode. As she dances.
SPEAKER_01I'm dancing my way out of the episode. Oh. I'm doing the Roger Rabbit. Keep drinking while I drink. Stay hydrated, my friends. Oh, I should sign off with that one. Yes. Okay. Okay.
SPEAKER_05I don't know how to get that in there, but okay.
SPEAKER_01I'll say it again. Alright.
SPEAKER_05Um, all right, that'll do it for this episode. Stay tuned next week for our next episode. All the best cowboys have daddy issues.

SPEAKER_02I think we are what's not best for our audio quality at this point.
SPEAKER_04Oh, hold on. Somebody, somebody's home in my house. Oh, Alex just got home. Yay.
SPEAKER_05He's any minute, he's gonna come up here and interrupt us. Watch.
SPEAKER_01Oh, I can't wait to see.

SPEAKER_05You could be my sister wife. It's cool.
SPEAKER_02Oh, Leo. I don't know how Alex feels about that.
SPEAKER_05If um if my sister wife, you mean you're gonna help with the house chores and give him S, he's all for it.
SPEAKER_01How about I'll cook and I'll hire someone to clean. What about that?
SPEAKER_05He might be right with that.
unknownOkay.
SPEAKER_02I was going to be rich. It's just it's not cute. Okay. Hi, honey. What's up? Look at the second those classes.
SPEAKER_05She wants to know if you want a sister wife. But she's only gonna cook.
SPEAKER_01And I'll hire someone to clean.
SPEAKER_05She'll hire someone to clean.
SPEAKER_02He's like that laugh was level maybe.
