First season, he had no video. This is just awkward. I think second season he was in the dark, and now we got this his avatar.
SPEAKER_01Wait, you can hear me, right?
SPEAKER_05Oh, we can hear you.
SPEAKER_01Wait a minute, check this out. Oh, wait, no. Now it's out. Boom.
SPEAKER_04Boom. Hey!
SPEAKER_03Hi, and welcome to this fan favorite episode of Assassin's Sips. We are here with our guest, Jamar Duron. And he is back for his third time. He's in the Three Timers Club. Woohoo! We are your hosts. I'm Lisa. And I'm Agnes. And please welcome Jamar back to the show.
SPEAKER_01Hi, everybody. I'm Jamar. Uh, three timers sounds like I cheat a lot. Like I got lots of women, but I'm not too upset about that. But uh, I am Jamar Duran. I have my own podcast, Lit to the Cookie, and I'm glad to be back for a third time.
SPEAKER_03Thank you so much for being here. It's always a good time when you come on.
SPEAKER_01I hope that continues. I hope that is the case today.
SPEAKER_03Magnus is very exciting. I have plans for you.
SPEAKER_01Wow. All right.
SPEAKER_05I because after we we do finish Lost and what three more seasons, and at this rate, the next episode, the next show is my idea. And there goes his avatar again.
SPEAKER_01I feel oh well, that might be it. Can you still hear me?
SPEAKER_05Yeah, I can't hear you. Okay.
SPEAKER_01All right, it's gone.
SPEAKER_05Okay, so um I was thinking on doing imposters, and I know you watch it.
SPEAKER_01Um, no, I never watched that.
SPEAKER_05I thought you said you were gonna watch it.
SPEAKER_01I I thought I was gonna watch it. I tried to watch it a couple times, never watched it. Oh, so we got so you might have to watch it. Does that show also have been in it? Somebody's in that show, right? From Lost.
SPEAKER_03I don't know.
SPEAKER_01Nobody? Nobody. All right, never mind. No, but yeah, yeah, I know of the show and I've looked into it a couple times and I don't watch it.
SPEAKER_05Oh wait, I gotta think of another show then that you watch.
SPEAKER_01I don't watch anything now, so don't do that. Just watch what you want to watch.
SPEAKER_05On a good note, it's only two seasons long, I think.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_05It's not a super long show. Lisa, the next show, like we have to do like shorter running shows. Because I'm like my attention span is you got it. I channeled the nearest squirrel, I swear.
SPEAKER_03What uh what's everybody drinking?
SPEAKER_05I have moved on from my last week. I was doing the mango margarita. Today I'm doing my peach polini.
SPEAKER_01Oh, I've done that quite a bit. So yeah, I feel that I still have the peach stuff in the refrigerator, actually. Thank you, Aldi's.
SPEAKER_03And what are you drinking, Jamar?
SPEAKER_01I'm doing this new thing now, even though I don't technically have a job, I just go into the liquor store and say, give me your finest. Uh so I'm drinking the best like sparkling wine from the local liquor store, like I like I can afford it, which is not that expensive, but it's way better than like five dollar Andre. It's like $25 sparkling wine.
SPEAKER_05All right, I like above my pay grade. Have you tried have you tried the Stella Rosa Black?
SPEAKER_01I've never tried it, but I look at it all the time.
SPEAKER_05I don't like red wine, but this is awesome.
SPEAKER_01Interesting. I would try it.
SPEAKER_03No, speaking of Stella, y'all saw me get my delivery. I got my beer.
SPEAKER_01Nice. Also, I am a little bit of a lightweight now, so some I'm actually drinking something with like 15 alcohol or whatever. Oh my gosh, if this goes off the track, I apologize.
SPEAKER_03Oh, that's what we're looking for.
SPEAKER_01That's what we're waiting for.
SPEAKER_05Somebody get him another drink.
SPEAKER_03I I did ask my daughter to bring me two, but I guess of course is she grateful she brought me one.
SPEAKER_05She has you on a limit. She's like, Yeah, no, mom.
SPEAKER_01She's monitoring you.
SPEAKER_05Yeah.
SPEAKER_03Season three. Who wants to start? Let's hear those thoughts. I feel so weird, I can't see you anymore.
SPEAKER_01Sorry, you got my picture. That's a headshot from years ago. Look at me.
SPEAKER_05All right. So I know last season you said this is definitely not your favorite season, and you under you you underplayed it because this season sucked balls.
SPEAKER_03Well, that's that's she's been waiting for this moment.
SPEAKER_05I've heard a little bit of that in like the podcast. I was like, oh gosh, shoot me, shoot me now.
SPEAKER_03That had a strong finish, but like around.
SPEAKER_05I was gonna say, did you finish it?
SPEAKER_01So you finished the whole season.
SPEAKER_05Yes, we finished the whole season, okay. Okay, and the last the last couple episodes I enjoyed.
SPEAKER_01It was I'm glad you're saying everything you're saying. Good.
SPEAKER_05And then the last like 30 seconds, I'm like, oh shit.
SPEAKER_01Oh yeah.
SPEAKER_05Yeah. So pretty much a whole season of just to get to that.
SPEAKER_01Like Agnes Mike, no TV. That's correct.
SPEAKER_03I talk a professional TV watch.
SPEAKER_04That's right, that's right, that's right.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, it it it was it was a slow and painful, yeah. Up until about what, like the man behind the curtain, the brig, somewhere around there, that it finally started to um the man behind the curtain is a good point.
SPEAKER_01That's a good point. Yeah, so I am um not to cut off or whatever. I actually have lots of thoughts because I always try to like binge and see a good bit before I come on the show. This might be the only time where I definitely watched every second of every episode, and fairly recently, like I probably watched 10 episodes in the last few days. Wow. Um, and that's the first time I've done that. So I'm actually a bit emotional because I just watched Charlie and Jack and Kate. Like, I finished about two minutes before I hit go on on Zoom or whatever.
SPEAKER_02Oh, wow.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I'm a little bit like in my feelings a little bit, and uh so my opinion has changed a little bit about season three, 10 years later, or whatever it is. A little bit, like I get it a little bit more. I don't hate it as much as I used to, but I still hate what I always hated before. Fair enough, and I can tell you really quickly because I won't just take over, I gotta actually actual notes.
SPEAKER_03Oh, take over, please. We want to hear it.
SPEAKER_01But you'll, I'm sure you'll chime in. What I really is okay. So there's two things I really hated about the season. One, I hated the cages, I just didn't want to say that prior, but I absolutely hated the cages. And every time I watched the season, especially watching it the first time, I was like, when do they get out of the cages? This is not that interesting. They think this is cool, it is not cool. Nothing about it. I didn't care about the Kate Sawyer thing, I didn't care about he's like figuring out the bear trap and Tom's visiting, and there's I didn't care about any of that part. And what I really hated, this I think this whole season is this, and that's why I didn't like the season. But that part is a really good example, is that they pretended, which is what Lost is famous for, that they're gonna give you answers. Like now you're gonna see the others, you're gonna see where they live and what they do, and you learn nothing, nothing. They do a great job of pretending like you're learning stuff, and you learn nothing, it's just more questions. And it was like the most losty lost season in all of the lost seasons. Like, no, no, no, look, these are new characters. Look, look at no, look, they have they they live, look, they're not like they they got a city, look, they got houses, and you learn nothing. And that's what I really hated about the season. That was terrible. I really I was miserable watching it again, but then to the last third of the season, I was like, Oh, hold up now. Wait a minute, what's going on? They're doing stuff, all right. So I really I get it, but I still don't like that. They could lose the whole cage, like whatever that is.
SPEAKER_03Piece, it was so slow in the beginning, it's very slow.
SPEAKER_01Like they didn't know what they were doing, it lasted too long, yeah. Too too long. It was like a a third of a season or more introduction, like that should be one or two episodes. Oh, they're in cages. What is it like seven to ten episodes?
SPEAKER_05Seven episodes, gotta be, gotta be seven, at least and then after that, it was still like slow dragging out, and then nothing. There's episodes where they asked, there was like, why did you make this? Why was this episode even written? Like Nikki Paolo, I thought you bring him on. Why bring them on as a survivor, but then you kill them all?
SPEAKER_03It was just so what I think happened with that is that you know, it was like people saying, like, oh, well, you know, there's other survivors that crash, but we don't hear anything about them.
SPEAKER_02Yep.
SPEAKER_03So then the writers or whoever were like, okay, so you want other survivors, so here's some, but then they just kind of threw them at us, and people were like, Whoa, whoa, whoa.
SPEAKER_01There you go.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, who are these people? So it just it kind of was like what we wanted, but we didn't want it apparently.
SPEAKER_05Like Bernard and Rose are a good example of bringing survivors in without making them major. Like you go, like, hey, you see them every so often, you know they exist. They could have done that with Nikki and Paolo, they could have been like, Hey, we're here, make a little couple episodes, they're back and forth. It could have been done that way, but it was like boom, and then boom.
SPEAKER_03I was like, right, not Paolo discovering all the secrets of the island.
SPEAKER_01Oh, that was lame. I hated that. I really hated that. I didn't even remember that that was really stupid. That was really very much like we gotta make these people a part of the show some kind of way, so let's make up something stupid. I really didn't like it, yeah. But um, what Lisa said is right, but what they were, and I don't know if this is true or not, because you know, I got a lot of like I was into it on the internet at the time, but apparently, like what they show in the show is kind of what happened in real life, like they showed other survivors because people like what's going on, we need other survivors. But I don't know if it was test audiences or if it was the studio, but everybody hated them, and so like what you saw in the show was happening in real life. Like, how do you go, like, who are these people?
SPEAKER_00Are these people saying who are these people?
SPEAKER_01And everybody hated them, and that's why they killed them all. So, apparently, that's what it was. Nobody liked them, they didn't get why they were there. They tried to like give us some other side story, and everybody hated it, and then they killed them off.
SPEAKER_05And I think promotional posters or something for the season, like, weren't they get given more than just I felt like they were, I felt like I read somewhere after they were killed off, like they were going to be more integral.
SPEAKER_01They were early on before I guess it was test audiences. I don't know who, but somebody was like, These characters suck, and they wrote them right out. And it was just even the fact that she was like an actress that got written out, all of that was mirroring real life, like they would like put it right into the show. And and Sawyer was kind of like us, which is why Sawyer kept saying, Who is Nikki? Who is Paolo? Yeah, and I don't think you notice early on, they are just standing in the background, like in the third episode or whatever, they're just standing on the beach, but prominently, like the lights on them, so you know that they're there. It's like, who are those people? Like, why are they there? They get one line like where is Jack?
SPEAKER_05Like, what are you talking about?
SPEAKER_01Who are you to ask what Jack is? We don't know you, right? They're very attractive, though. They're very, very good looking couple.
SPEAKER_05They were, and like I think that's I think they um they got the step one for a good character, make them attractive, but they didn't have any else to go with it. They forgot the whole meat. The story is kind of whack, kind of. I feel like they did they put no effort into it. It was the funniest part about them was Sawyer and I know who the fuck they were. Right. After being introduced to them twice, it still didn't know who the fuck they were. Right.
SPEAKER_03Hey everyone, Lisa here. I want to take a moment to tell you about this really cool travel backpack that I got. It's made by Muslim and it's so cool. As you know, Agnes and I are not in the same state. So we travel to see each other quite frequently. This backpack makes it so easy to do so. The bag has space for everything. When I fly, I don't like to check a bag. This makes it so easy for me to bring everything that I need with me on carry-on, including recording equipment. It has a space for everything. Trust me when I say that if you travel, even if it's just for a road trip, this bag is perfect for you. Go to muzzum.com now and use our promo code SASPOD for 20% off of your new bag. Trust me when I say you'll love it. If you had to say what the theme was for season three, yeah.
SPEAKER_01Um, so I have thoughts on this that's gonna be nothing like anything you're thinking.
SPEAKER_04Okay.
SPEAKER_01Um, actually, did I write that down? Let's see. Uh oh, I do know. So I do have thoughts, and I thought this back then, I think it more so now. And this is one of those things where you probably couldn't think this unless you were one of those internet spy nerds at the time. Season three was really them answering the fans, like what we just said about Nikki and Palo. The entire season was fan theories answered through the show. And one of the things, like one big fan theory was they're in hell, and that's what everybody was saying, so they addressed that. Another big fan theory was um they'll never get off the island. That was huge. They'll never get off the island. If they get off the island, the show is over, so they addressed that. Another big fan theory was they're all dead. And I don't know if you catch how they addressed that, but they addressed that, and the whole season is like, you think you're so smart, we're gonna shoot down everything you're saying. And that was like the entire season, which is why I was kind of a throwaway season in a little bit until you get to the last third. They were too busy, like, fuck you, fuck you, fuck you.
unknownWho's next?
SPEAKER_01As opposed to like just like doing a good show. But that's what I think was the connecting thing throughout the entire season was like, Oh, the fans think this is gonna happen. Watch us kill this person, like so. No matter what you thought, they they you know switched it up on you.
SPEAKER_05Okay, looking at it that way, I think I like it now. This for that reason.
SPEAKER_01Oh, you like the season now because of that?
SPEAKER_05Because of that, it was just like a complete like we are so big and bad, we can take this season and just say, fuck you, and continue on for another three seasons. Exactly.
SPEAKER_00It was just like a step out of the show, like, all right, you think we're still smart?
SPEAKER_05We got you, and it ain't nothing gonna happen to us because we're still gonna be here. Like, I feel like you're still gonna watch, it's still gonna be the highest-rated show. So I kind of respect the gangster. And I like it, yeah.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I really felt that on this like 800th rewatch. I just feel like I was like, man, they really they did not care about us at all.
SPEAKER_05I think I said, like, I felt like this whole season I was gaslighted. Oh, for sure. Oh, for sure, and then I stuck with him, and I'm gonna stay until the next season and see if he gets any better. And and like this, I'm stuck in this situation ship situation.
SPEAKER_01A little abusive. There's actually a helicopter flying over me right now that's really weird as we're talking about lost. All right, come on. That's weird. Okay, beat me up, Scotty. I'm getting off the island.
SPEAKER_03So you said, okay, you said what was your least favorite? What was your favorite thing about season three? If if you had a favorite thing, an ending.
SPEAKER_01Uh oh well, for me, uh my favorite. Uh that's kind of hard. I don't know if there's one thing. I mean, I got a lot of good stuff to say.
SPEAKER_03Okay, then go for it. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_01Okay. Um, so where I messed up, because I said, like, I feel a little different about the season now. I I told you what I hated. Yeah, you got that. So, how I feel different and what I like, and how I may have messed up. I do admit that some of the most pivotal, like most loved episodes are in this season. There's like four of the top episodes that people like a lot in this season. Um, there's a lot of characters that people love that kind of get their like big either send-off or introduction in this season. Like, I always forget that this is like Meet Desmond, the season, and he's like most people's most beloved character, and this is kind of his season. And I forget that. Although I don't care that much about it, there's a lot of um what's their names? Uh, son and Jen. And I I kind of could go without it. I don't care about the backstories as much as a lot of people, but a lot of people like them, and they are a cool couple, they have an interesting story. So I appreciate all of that. I think it's the uh, you know, looking glass and catch 22, the man from Tallahassee is Trisha Tanaka, whatever that is. Trish Tanaka is that in this season? Those are some of the like most popular episodes that people talk about a lot.
SPEAKER_03It's a fun episode, it's not really like yeah, it doesn't move the story, right?
SPEAKER_01It's just fun, it's just a fun one-off episode, like a much better version of uh the Paolo stuff. It's like way better version of that. Um, but also the top quotes to at least two I would say of the top quotes are in this season, and it feels like there were more, but one maybe the number one in the whole series, and now I'm getting choked up, is not Penny's boat, it's just huge. And then the other one that's really huge is like we have to go back, Kate. People talked about that for the next 10 years, just like wow. And I forget that like those that's in within one episode basically that you get both of those quotes.
SPEAKER_04That's true.
SPEAKER_01Wow, and then I would say my favorite piece, and I forget, I mean, I know, but I forget how emotional like those last three episodes are, is watching Charlie die. It is awful when he pulls out that list and starts writing. I go, Oh my mother, I forget every time, and then it's just like a funeral for three or four episodes, just like this when he starts making the list, I feel like is almost worse watching him relive his greatest moments leading up to his death than his actual death through the looking glass. Yeah, I mean, I I got tyriot as the first time I see him with his marker and paper. And the thing is, I don't know if I felt the first time, so like that was your first time, Agnes. The first time I didn't, because you don't know, and it's lost, and it's like nobody's actually dying, or he'll come back, or you know, but and and we already see him like die and come back a bunch of times, and all the stupid flash forward stuff or whatever for Desmond, which I really don't care that much about, so you don't know what's gonna happen. But after you already know which I'm blowing the series, uh, what happens in the series, and then to go back and watch it, it is just it is this uh there's a word for this, but like a memorial or a march for Charlie. This whole season is like his way off the series, and that was just hard. That was hard, it was special and hard.
SPEAKER_05I feel like I'm going straight to hell.
SPEAKER_01Uh oh, because you hate Charlie.
SPEAKER_05No, I don't hate Charlie, no, but I think for me, it wasn't it wasn't a tear joker for jerker for me. I felt like um part of it is that he was ready, he was he had is he had resigned. Like, this is what I'm doing for to play for his family, because that's how he Claire and Aaron and his family, and then what really killed it for me because based on the logistics of how the thing was flooding and how he could it could have been avoided. Yep, I just thought that when I watched it this time.
SPEAKER_01That's a person.
SPEAKER_05It could have been avoided, and I feel like besides discussed it, like maybe he felt like he had to die for it to happen, like he couldn't just flip the switch, he had to die, and still was like meh. And to your point about the show, this season, a lot of throwaways. I had found myself this whole season, I couldn't watch it as a series, I couldn't watch it as one show, I had to watch each episode on its own merit, like as each show was its own show. No, I get that because other than first, I could not watch it. I'm like, oh my god, shoot me now. So when I took it apart, I'm like, ignore any kind of connections between the upper episodes and just watch it as a standalone, it made it doable. It was just a weird season. I've never watched a season, like watching TV shows, and as usually as the show progresses, it gets it just gets bad because they're milking it and they should just end it. You're used to that.
SPEAKER_01I feel that.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, this was just a weird one. This was just it didn't it, it I guess because it was a fuck you viewers season, and it was just hard to for it to come together.
SPEAKER_01Oh, yeah, it was always my least favorite, even though, like I've said, I've watched the series, I don't know, maybe five or six times all the way through, something like that. I hate season three, I'm sure I've skipped it multiple times. Um, because I just kind of want to get to season four, and uh I I just I really care about like season four, season five. To me, that's what I like in television, it's who I am. You might hate it, but that's the kind of stuff I want to see.
SPEAKER_05But so far, we're on the same page a lot. So I'm looking forward to four. You give me new hope.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I mean, one another thing I didn't notice as I'm like taking over the show, uh, but I got a lot of thoughts because I just watched it. I um I didn't really think of it this way, which helps me a little bit with season three. Everything, everything that I like about season four is that it's really a resolution of all the stuff that starts in season three, which they don't do that in in the show a lot, and I don't think they do that in any other uh you know season. So everything that starts at in this end of season three is the first time you get to see resolutions of things, you get to actually get answers and know things in season four. Oh, thank you. And I won't spoil it, but like at least for a couple seasons, you get some answers. And that's that's it is a resolution, and you feel that, like, even if you hate the answer, it's like now I know what's going on, or who that person is, or why that matters, or what they're doing there, or what Ben's talking about, or all those things, they actually start to answer stuff because they already knew that they were going to end it a season six. So the writers are like, you know, we gotta answer some questions. Uh we gotta we gotta talk.
SPEAKER_05Something, yeah. Well, it's gonna be a really full last season if they did it.
SPEAKER_01And boy, that last season.
SPEAKER_05Really?
SPEAKER_03And I think that once the show had the end date, that was the pivotal point of when the episodes in season three even started to get better. Because up until that point, it was kind of like okay, just another episode, just another episode, and then I guess once they Decided what the end date was, the episodes started becoming purposeful.
SPEAKER_01Right. I think I probably said this on other episodes, but the writers basically chose to end it because they were like, we can't do this forever. I mean, that was literally what they said. They were like, we know we can't do this for 10 seasons or whatever. We have to stop this.
SPEAKER_03And I've I've also heard rumors, and I don't know how true they are, but to the effect of that's why some of the episodes were as uh bad as they were, you know, namely like Stranger in a Strange Land, because they were trying to get the green light for an end date.
SPEAKER_01I can believe that. I don't know if it's true, but I can believe that I totally get that. Um, a little bit of like spinning wheels and like, dude, what do you expect from us? Like, we we gotta wrap this up.
SPEAKER_05I'm glad they actually decided this is our end date, and let's do it. Because shows that I am I'm gonna watch it because I've been watching it for 16 years. Great anatomy. Um stop being good about season nine. But I'm like, right, can't I you can't do it? I just can't like you gotta stop it, please. You're just putting out the misery. I feel like the show is on life support. Unplug the machine. Uh pun intended. Um, so I think this is the best thing. I think all shows should do this. Like, have a plan, have an end date, make it perceivable, and don't kill me with needless seasons. I totally want to watch it because I'm gonna watch it, and then I'm gonna hate myself for doing it.
SPEAKER_01I um I think I used to say this. I don't know if I still believe it, but I used to say that's why British TV is better because they do they say we're gonna do three seasons and there's six episodes, and you're gonna get a good story, and it's and we're we're done, and they go do another show. They America does the exact opposite, they just try to get as much money out of you as they can out of advertising dolls. So as long as they know that 10 million people are watching, they will put anything up, but they do not do that in the UK. They go, This is our story, we're gonna tell it. They do shorter seasons, they do shorter series, and they move on and let all those actors and directors and writers do something else. And it actually feels really good. You always feel like there was a nice solid ending and a good story was told. And for a long time, in the same period of loss, actually, like from like I would say 2005 to like maybe 2013, all those British shows were super popular, super popular. And um, I don't know if that's still the case, but I I wish we did that more in our television. Like, yo, we can we only get four seasons and we tell that story, but um yeah, they you can't do it forever, it just gets worse and worse and worse and worse.
SPEAKER_05I do prefer um like British uh series over America because of that, it's meaty from beginning to end. Um Sherlock, I am I I I want to see more, and I kind of get why there isn't more, but I every series, every every new series is I feel I feel stated. I feel like it's like, yeah, I feel good about this, and if it does end, I'm gonna miss it, but I don't feel like I lost out on anything. Luther, oh Hex, that was like 15, 16 years ago. Hex.
SPEAKER_01I was gonna say I don't even know that one.
SPEAKER_05See, I have no life, professional TV watcher, nothing wrong with that.
SPEAKER_01Well, I will tell you about Kimi because that's one of my favorite characters. Did we met Kimi already, right? Nope. No, I'm joking.
SPEAKER_03I'm sorry, it was a little smaller. That's all right, she hasn't met Kimi yet. Oh my god, I'm so excited! I can make a TV hard on. Like well, I I sent her the um the uh the trailer for season four, like the one that was like on the TV or whatever, right? But she doesn't even remember it, so I forgot what I saw like a week ago.
SPEAKER_00Like hey, Kimi is the truth though. Kimi is legit, it's another level.
SPEAKER_05Wow, so okay, so Lisa won't tell me. So I'm thinking going forward, at least for season four, we're gonna have flash forwards, and I think them back at home is present, and them going back to the island, part two, like island 2.0, would be the flash forwards. How close am I to my sub as my close?
SPEAKER_00Oh my god, I hate you. I don't know, it's not that's not a dumb idea. I don't know. I you and Lisa just evil, I swear.
SPEAKER_01I don't even remember the stuff that will, as you can tell. Like, I watched season three, and that it's just so much stuff I don't remember. Uh, it really is a lot because I even though I watched it a lot, I watched it a lot 10 years ago. Like my ex-girlfriend would just watch it over and over again. Matter of fact, almost everybody I dated would be like, Wanna watch Lost? And I haven't had a serious relationship in seven, eight years, so I haven't watched it in eight years. So every episode, I'm like, huh? Oh, oh yeah, I forgot about them. Like, I totally forgot about that black lady that was at the shack with Mikal, like who, you know, uh yeah, I just forgot she existed. I was like, who is down there? I thought it was gonna be some white dude. I was like, Oh yeah, well, I know why I don't remember her. Yeah, yeah, yeah. So I forget a lot of stuff, but um, I do remember the kind of overall points and where the show's going and and what happens and who the special characters are and and that sort of thing. Really, for me, the interesting part now is more about like uh Agnes's thoughts about everything. Like, what do you think is happening? What do you think about the magic of the island and who they are and where it's going and all that sort of stuff?
SPEAKER_05So I was telling Lisa, I like to fuck with her. Like by the like by the beginning of season three, my whole purgatory idea was just really to fuck with her. Of course, to see her face was it brought me pleasure. Um, I honestly think of some kind of like totally geeking out here, let's do it the whole parallel universe. Because there's a lot of things that don't that doesn't make sense unless it is a parallel universe. Um there it makes sense if their bodies were found in the plane crash, but they're obviously on the island, and when they go back home, like that scene when you're like, we gotta go back, yeah. Why isn't Kate in jail? Because regardless of what happened, she's still a fugitive.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, what are they gonna do about that?
SPEAKER_05Right. I think and parallel universe number one, where they had the plane crash, they did die, but when they hit this island, kind of like the Bermuda Triangle of electromagnetic waves, they hit another parallel universe. And so, yeah, I feel like that yes, so that is like a parallel universe, and then I'm thinking, what is death itself a parallel universe? When, like when we actually die, we hit another universe.
SPEAKER_01Get it. I don't know what kind of stuff you like, but that's the kind of stuff I like. That's all I read and watch. I'm all over it. I care about time travel, I care about multiple infinite universes and stuff. Yes, that's all I want to see.
SPEAKER_05Like Doctor Strange, I kind of like because of that shit. I like um what else? Oh, those manifests or something else. That show with the time machine.
SPEAKER_01Doctor Who?
SPEAKER_05No, no, it's it was relatively recent. Yes, no, that time like HG Wells. Oh, yeah, and there was another one, the time machine. Oh my god, I can't remember. I she was like a she was a doctor oh like Halo or start with a H.
SPEAKER_01Um white lady.
SPEAKER_05It was a white lady, and she's playing different episodes, she's in different things now, but all that kind of I like it. That's what I love. That's that's what it's done, right? Component to it that's at least the realm of possibility, right? No, I agree. I'm I'm with it. I'm with it. So Lisa won't tell me how close I am. Good job, Lisa.
SPEAKER_03This is the only way to get her to keep coming back, Agnes.
SPEAKER_01You blew it though. You should have been one of us. You should have watched this in 2009 or whatever and been on the internet guessing and stuff. You sound like all of us.
SPEAKER_05I still that's what I told her. Yeah, I don't feel like even watching it now. I still hold on to I never would have watched it back then. Like, I don't regret not watching it.
SPEAKER_01Wow, what what kind of person were you back then? Were you like in the clubs, hating life?
SPEAKER_05No, I actually it was a drug addict 2006.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_05I was working like 60, 70 hours a week every week. I had no life. That's right. I really did have a life. It sucked, but I love I love working, so it kind of brought me joy. Oh, nice! Because a lot of stuff that I'm watching from back then, I'm watching now. Thank you, streaming services.
SPEAKER_01This is always cool, it's really cool.
SPEAKER_05It is. I was watching Alias again. I love alias.
SPEAKER_01I've never watched it, but when I was young, people loved that show.
SPEAKER_05I love it because they have all these cool toys and like gadgets. I'm like, wow, our phones literally do everything. Yeah, like literally, like they have like these mission impossible shit, and at the time it was kind of cool, right? Right right now, I'm like, my phone does that.
SPEAKER_01That show's from like what 2002? Like, isn't that show really like that?
SPEAKER_03It was it was like right before Lost, I think. Yeah, something like that.
SPEAKER_05So, but I'm enjoying that again, and anything with a badass woman kicking ass, I kind of like I used to be really into those types of shows, really into those types of shows.
SPEAKER_01Uh, I all I watched was like lady shows for a long time. I mean I kind of still do, it's just transition now from like ladies kicking ass to like ladies in their 30s raising kids. That's what I watch now.
SPEAKER_05It is because I feel like most of my life is gone too. Like breastfeeding to like, wait, where's my walker? Like, I feel like watching my life on TV.
SPEAKER_01Yep, yep, yep, yep. That's how that works.
SPEAKER_05It's kind of sad. Like bad moms. I totally relate to bad movie bad moms.
SPEAKER_01I'm like, Yeah, oh yeah, I saw that, I don't even remember it.
SPEAKER_05It's like you know, but they're not any bad moms. Like when my kid was growing up, my best friend time out we spent the weekend together, and at the end, the girls got in a fight, like they were like draw out, hitting each other fight, and me and her sat on the couch laughing because it was the funniest shit in the world. Five minutes later, they're back to being friends. Her husband's like, Oh my god, what's wrong with you, bitches? We're like, it'll be fine.
SPEAKER_01Nothing wrong with that, nothing wrong with that. Don't keep a grudge, don't hold it.
SPEAKER_05And like we watched it, we had a it was a good time with them fighting, the best time ever.
SPEAKER_01I have a whole other weird thing that happened to me watching season three. It's not that deep, it's not about the content of the shows, but it is interesting watching it basically 10 years later. So I think at least back then, we haven't gotten into it. But there was a lot of talk among women online, because probably more women watch Lost than Men, probably. There was a lot of talk about like you want Jack or you want Sawyer. That was literally all the talk for the first, like maybe two seasons, and then every now and then somebody would throw in Jen, or some cool person would be like, What about Said? You know, so that was a thing for a while, and then later on, maybe it was Richard, whatever. But I, as a man, was always checking out the ladies, and I was in love with Kate, like in love with Kate, and then later I realized like Sun is really fine, and I would talk to other women, they'd be like, Sun is banging. And she's got an eight-pack. And I'm like, wait, how did I miss this? But what's been interesting is checking that out 10 years later. Because now I'm 10 years older. So back then I was blusting after these women. Now Kate kind of looks like a baby to me. I still think she's cute, but I was like, ooh, I can't wait to see Kate. And I'm kind of like, now you're like, I want Rose, right? It's changed a good bit. As a matter of fact, I don't want Rose, but she definitely looks like my ex, who now has three kids and is divorced and stuff. Like, she looks exactly like Rose. I feel weird, like trying to lust after Kate. But then the other part about that is now I look at there, it is, it's gone. I look at the uh relationships differently because back then it seemed perfectly natural that eight was into Jack and Sawyer. Now they look a little bit like cradle robbers because both of them are all gray and stuff. And I know that's how it is. Like men are supposed to be silver foxes and get all like, you know, whatever, they're like handsome gentlemen. It looks a little weird. Like, why is this like mid-20s woman like dying for these 44-year-olds? Uh, and I get there on an island and they're leaders and yada yada yada, whatever. But now, as a person who's much older and kind of like in between their ages or whatever, I'm like, this is weird. Like, uh, I don't know, and I don't know how old Evangeline uh Lily was at the time, actually. Like, maybe I'll look later to see, but I just feel really weird about all the dynamics of all the romance, although I also understand that's how Hollywood is. You regularly see a 57-year-old lead man with a 20-year-old lead woman. It's common, but now that I'm like an old man, I'm looking at it like, what the hell? This is weird. You feel dirty. Yeah, it feels a little weird to me now. Like, because now I don't really lust at the I used to be in love with Kate, I would watch it for her, and like well, you were with the same age at the time, right? Right, right. So it makes sense, yeah, yeah. At that time, and now I'm like, wait, were there other old guys like I can't wait to see Kate?
SPEAKER_05Yes, yes, there was, yes, yes, there were, absolutely.
SPEAKER_01Juliet's another one, too. I have a specific thing with Juliet. I I might be wrong, but I used to kind of be in love with Juliet, and uh, I know Agnes doesn't know where her story goes, but when you see the story, it makes a lot more sense, kind of. And uh part of why I was like really in love with Juliet, I figured it out later. I'm almost I'm almost 100% that she was in Gia with Angelina Jolie, and in that movie, they are like lesbian lovers, and that was the first time I saw something like that when I was like a teenager, and uh, so even though I didn't remember that, like many years later, I'm just so attracted to this woman, I don't know why. But her every movement and all the sweat and everything, I'm like, I don't know why I like her, but I I have this memory of her. But I'm saying all that to say I'm looking at her now and I'm like, why did I like this weird woman?
SPEAKER_05Yeah, she was. Yep. Okay, now I have to now I have to see the movie now.
SPEAKER_01Oh, yeah, I love the movie. That was my introduction and falling in love with uh Angelina Jolie when I was a little kid on HBO, like late at night.
SPEAKER_05Okay, so I had a girl crush on in my late teens, and she was quite a bit older. Gina Gershawn. Yep, love her, love her. Because I saw did you see Bound?
SPEAKER_00I yes, I did. I own Bound. Okay, so I was like, Yes, yes, yes, I do.
SPEAKER_01But uh I have a type, I have a type. If you're dark haired, like Italian lady on TV, I'm in.
SPEAKER_05I do, I like if I was gonna still swim in the lady pond, it would be like I have a type also, uh, Priyaka Chopa.
SPEAKER_01I like the dark hair, absolutely ridiculously gorgeous. I love her. We need to hit the bars, is what we can do.
SPEAKER_03I was just saying a wing woman, I've got the men and throw them to you. That's did you ever watch Person of Interest?
SPEAKER_01No, I never watched it. Yeah, no.
SPEAKER_03Um, her name is uh Sarah Shahi.
SPEAKER_05Yes, and I can't think of her name from Person of Interest, but holy, I used to watch that show and as like her own show, and um, she had her own show on USA, legal, something very legal, like it was something legal drama, and she was also an alias in the first season as Bradley Cooper's assistant. Okay, yeah, yeah, she's she's fire hot. All right, I find that Middle Eastern women do like something with the hair and like the dusty complexion. I just nose.
SPEAKER_01You ever see that nose?
SPEAKER_05Amada La Negra. I don't even know what you said. Amada La Negra, she's a sing, she's a singer from Miami, and she's Puerto Rican, but she's dark skinned, she has she's very she's Afro-Latina, and she has a cute baby face, but she still has sex appeal against for her.
SPEAKER_01Google her. Oh, I am right now. I'm Googling everything. Oh, I know who she is. She's she's posted in a lot of my like Facebook groups all the time. I know exactly who that is. Okay, so that yeah, definitely.
SPEAKER_05So I'm gonna have yeah, I'm gonna get I'm gonna I'm gonna I'm gonna get you in trouble. I'm gonna find you all these women and like take your pick, have fun.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, yeah. Let's do this. We gotta find me a dude. Oh, wait, you single? Hold on, let me go. I just assumed everybody was married, but me.
SPEAKER_03Um no, but it also gets me in trouble.
SPEAKER_01I I was engaged to two of those uh Italians with dark hair from New York. I've I've definitely got an issue, and I'm definitely single and not married today. I definitely watched loss with both of those girls.
SPEAKER_03He's like the reason you're not I wonder if we know any of them.
SPEAKER_01No, definitely not. Oh, I see. Yeah, but no.
SPEAKER_03We're from we're from an Italian neighborhood.
SPEAKER_01I'm just you might know you might know some friends though. You might know their family.
SPEAKER_05New York is very small. I get that.
SPEAKER_01I totally get it. I definitely need to go screw up some profiles. Um what did y'all think though? What did you think? Like watching. I mean, I guess this is kind of more of a Lisa question, but it could be an Agnes question about the because that was part of it, like that. All the actors are hot and sexy, and that's definitely a part of it. They show a lot of abs, a lot of sweat, a lot of bikinis, a lot of shirtless dudes. What did you think?
SPEAKER_05I didn't think much of it. I think it would we've become desistantized towards it.
SPEAKER_01Like, it's like totally, yep.
SPEAKER_05And then listen, completely old and out of shape. I'm I'm on desert island, I don't give a fuck, I'm hot, and it's coming off. Like I would be coconut bra and panties. And it at this point, you're like, who cares?
SPEAKER_01Like you're like, I agree with that. I think about it a lot. Like, after about 20-30 days, the modesty is done. Everybody's neck, and it just does not matter. I totally agree with that.
SPEAKER_05And then women who have who's had any kind of like gyological exam or children, there is no shame. Like, we've had our legs up in the air once a year, every year.
SPEAKER_01So it's like seeing the stirrups is scary.
SPEAKER_05So we're like at this point, modest for what? Like, we don't care. I I would definitely we're gonna be censored after this episode.
SPEAKER_03We're gonna earn that E. But um, like back to your point about the whole, like, well, it you know, you have to either choose like Camp Sawyer or Camp Jack. It definitely wasn't Camp Jack. I would definitely fall into Camp Sawyer, but nice, me too.
SPEAKER_00The actor I mean, I'm I'm not making out with them, but if I had to choose, yeah, you can see my face and and listen, eye candy is eye candy.
SPEAKER_03I love when he takes his shirt off, but the actor that plays Richard, Nestor Carbonell. I've always had a thing for him. Okay, and he never takes his shirt off, so it's like you know, I don't, yeah, it's nice, but like it's back to that dark hair look.
SPEAKER_05It's still out of complexion dark hair, it's still fair, it's fair.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, breathing. I like seeing Richard season three with the long hair. I forgot about he had the wig on. I was like, Richard with his ugly wig.
SPEAKER_03I'm like, what the hell is that? Oh man, Lisa, I'm all confused. But I will say, right? So when I post things on Instagram, if I post something with Kate in it, it definitely gets more likes and more traction.
SPEAKER_01I'm one of those people than anything else. I definitely am one of those people.
SPEAKER_03Jack is a popular subject, also, but I think Kate would be Kate, like anything Kate Sawyer and Jack is definitely gonna hit, you know, like the the top numbers for us or whatever. But it's crazy.
SPEAKER_01I mean they're good looking, but they also were the show for like the first two seasons, and then John would have been next, John Locke, you know. Um, I mean, that was a lot of interesting stuff, a lot of interesting stuff. That's right, he responded to one of you or something. I saw that. I saw that. He seems like a dope dude. What did I mean? He had a a really important part in this season. Agnes, what do you think about John Locke going forward? He actually got shot in the stomach and walked out after seeing Walt. And I mean, like, what is this dude? Is he magic? Is he the king of the island?
SPEAKER_05The island is magic, and that kind of like when he got shot. I'm like, it ain't over, he ain't dead. Because I felt after he was dead, I would have felt it.
SPEAKER_03Um, I well, Agnes has made um threats or as she calls it promises that if he dies, she's done. Woo! So when he got shot, I was like, Oh shit, is this it? And she's like, No, it's lost, don't worry. So like no, I wasn't worried, I know what happened, but yeah, I know what happened.
SPEAKER_05Locke has always made questionable decisions, but I still he's one of my favorites. Um he's very vulnerable as far as his wanting a father figure. He's like he was once he wants the he wants the family, he wants it being, yeah, yeah, yeah. And he makes questionable decisions, but but he it it comes from it still comes from a good place, you know what I mean? Like his like he's not a malicious person, and I kind of like, man, oh man up a little bit, yeah.
SPEAKER_02Good, good.
SPEAKER_05Throw your father out the window. Like, I feel like at one point, father or not, like, dude, I know it's really pathetic.
SPEAKER_01Even the fact that he calls him dad when that dude had nothing to do with his life, right? Dad, what are you doing here? It's like, dude, you don't even know him, right?
SPEAKER_05He's not your dad, he's not like I feel like Ben could be more his father than this guy can at this point for sure. Um, Ben's everyone's father and no one's at all. Okay, um but how about the relationship between him and Ben? I think it parallels a lot. They their relationship parallels a lot with the lack of father. One off topic slightly. I'm glad that. The show is always the mother's fault on TV. My mother's fault. And I'm glad the show brings it like, oh father issues. Thank you. We do the best we can. Shit. Um, but they do. I think they have a lot in common. I think they understand each other, even though Ben, oh Benry is a king manipulator.
SPEAKER_01Yes, he is.
SPEAKER_05I think he makes he does it so well.
SPEAKER_01Bug eye Ben.
SPEAKER_05Yeah.
SPEAKER_01I'm glad they talk about it all the time because that's all I think about. Look at his eyes.
SPEAKER_05Now I'm gonna be stuck on stupid that when I do watch it, I was like, oh shit. Um he I think they they understand each other, they see each other, they see themselves in each other, and it kind of makes me sad in a way.
SPEAKER_01I feel like I see your face. Yeah, no, I just uh like 50. I totally disagree, and 50, I know the very end of the series, and I could shed a tear.
SPEAKER_05I don't know how to take that. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I'm gonna watch the last season, the last episode, and fuck both of you. I'm just gonna feel like I watched it now. You you were given that choice and you denied it. So okay, it's a joke. Okay, so none of you notice on the intro. She always says, We're gonna we watch each episode lost in order. And I joke, I'm like, how else are we gonna watch it? Like, duh. And so she goes, Hey, you want to watch out of order? I'm like, Yeah, sure, I've been a smart ass that she was gonna take me up on it. I'm like, Yeah, no, yeah, I didn't know.
SPEAKER_03So I I figured, listen, you know what? She wants to watch an episode out of order. So I offered her, and I came down to the to the conclusion of either Across the Sea or Ab Eternal. Either of those she could watch and and really not ruin a lot of shit. And then she backed out. So I didn't want to watch it out of order. I just find it funny that you said we're gonna watch it in order. I'm like, Well, what house? Especially across the sea. I mean, this she would watch it and be like, I I had it on, I was watching it just to double check before I presented that option to her. And my husband came in the room and he's like, What the fuck are you watching?
SPEAKER_00And I was like, What show is this?
SPEAKER_03Yeah, and he's like, I don't remember who who is that, and I was like, It's you know, and he's like, Really? And he stood there watching, and I'm just like, Yes, and he's like, I I have no memory of this, and I was just like, All right, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_05So I was like, perfect. There's been times where I kind of want to just watch the whole series, like I was gonna like get over the week and binge watch it just to fuck with you and not tell you, but I use your Hulos, so I can know what I can do without you knowing.
SPEAKER_01Like, yeah, I got you, I got you. I finally got my own. I was using one of my exes. Um, you know, I'm thinking as we're talking, and uh, there actually was kind of a lot of significant stuff which might be spoiled in a little bit that happened this season, so it's kind of weird to not even bring it up or talk about it or see what Agnes thinks. But um not that we'll ever hear anything about this in the future, but um Agnes, what did you think about the Jacob stuff?
SPEAKER_00You know, like you know, the the cabin in the woods. I she doesn't even know.
SPEAKER_03Oh, Jacob, yeah, you know, how the man behind the curtain, yeah. I the empty rocking chair.
SPEAKER_05I was like, okay, he's smoking some good shit, right? Like I was like, that's like pass it over. I don't do drugs, but I'm like, I'm willing to take some of that shit. Um, I really don't fucking know. I think maybe one theory is maybe he has some kind of telekinesis, like Walt did. Like uh who Ben does, yeah, and then he was doing it without realizing he was doing it. Oh, nice, nice. Um, and maybe like maybe he's slightly schizophrenic when he's hearing voices.
SPEAKER_01Like who's hearing voices? Uh John?
SPEAKER_05Ben well, well, first I would say Ben because obviously he talks to Jacob.
SPEAKER_01He thinks Jacob is there, so I think he's kind of like um there is no Jacob, gotta we I don't think that's Jacob.
SPEAKER_05I don't think there obviously I don't know, but there was that that kind of that flash, you kind of saw somebody. So I kind of like this what was that dude's name, Lisa? The hippie that brought him to the island, the dog that was working for Dama. I kind of feel like that is the personification of Jacob. That's who he sees as Jacob. I don't fucking know. I think it's all like it's gonna be something totally different. I think at the end, it's gonna be something totally out there.
SPEAKER_03That like, oh it seemed to me when I watched that scene again that when you see the person sitting in the chair, it's supposed to be from Locke's perspective. That's that's how it felt to me, like if it was from Locke's perspective.
SPEAKER_04Okay.
SPEAKER_03Now, do you remember being a kid and like having like a crazy imagination? And then you know, like you get scared of something or whatever, and you you feel like I mean now I remember being a kid and like if I saw a scary movie or whatever, and then I would like I don't want to say hallucinate, but like but you think you see something, right?
SPEAKER_05It's a power suggestion, right?
SPEAKER_03So could it be that luck is just imagining somebody there because all this shit starts happening and he's just like hallucinating it?
SPEAKER_05I think it's a power I think the power of suggestion is extremely strong. I think that's why um con artists are so do so well in what they do or the good ones, or magicians, yeah. Magicians, um so yeah, I think that but that's logic. This is lost, and I think it might be a combination of all of it, and then the writers on some good shrooms, yeah.
SPEAKER_01I um a lot of this is about the writers, and I might have spoiled that on a previous episode that I was on, but yeah, I didn't remember.
SPEAKER_05I really didn't remember.
SPEAKER_01Good, good, good, good, good, good, good.
SPEAKER_05I'm gonna start taking notes. Maybe we should start taking notes. You should. I mean, you do a lot of episodes, so I did at first, and then I'm like, yeah, because I was taking notes and then I would miss something, and then at least like, well, did you miss? I'm like, Oh my god, I felt the pop quiz again. So it got to the point where I was just like, I'm watching this shit. So I watch it right before we record. That way it's relatively fresh in my mind. So I don't have to take notes, and that's just doing the synopsis. I kind of remember things. Yeah, I cheat. I'm one of those that didn't study for tests in school, and I did exceptionally well.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. I believe it, I believe it.
SPEAKER_05I also I had good teachers though, they were lecturers and they weren't they didn't go by the book, and I was frequently, yeah.
SPEAKER_01Was that in New York? Where was that at New York? Yeah, okay.
SPEAKER_05So, yeah, not in Wisconsin. Let me tell you, these people never mind. I forgot that people don't say anything bad.
SPEAKER_01I've applied for jobs there, so don't say anything bad.
SPEAKER_05Jamal loves Wisconsin. I do, and what I say means don't take it against his job search people. Those opinions of me does not use it expressed, yeah.
SPEAKER_01That's hilarious. I mean, I love cheese, I thought that was enough.
SPEAKER_05I find the cheese here is as good as it should be.
SPEAKER_01I like the world's best cheese. Okay, the country's best cheese, not as good as it should be.
SPEAKER_05I just like I found like I think I do better back. I find I'm a little I'm a snob. I think New York is and if any huge metrop metropolitan city has more access to other foods, i.e. New York, I think I could get better selection of foods from different parts of the world than I can here.
SPEAKER_01Boo, that's what every New Yorker says, except for the fact that I agree.
SPEAKER_05Um I say New York from New York, but I think um Miami, Los Angeles, I think any big city. I'm stuck. I can't get lobster. No, no, you're good.
SPEAKER_01You're right, and I'm I'll say it like you're right. Everything you said was correct, and also everything that I had was the best in New York. I always hate admitting it, and I've had good food all over the country, but literally, like the best Chinese, the best pizza, the best everything I had was in New York, and I was just like, this sucks because it's real.
SPEAKER_05It's so sad. Like, I've gone to try to get like deep dish pizza, and I don't want New York pizza. I'm trying to be fair. I want Chicago deep dish pizza, and it's still like, where's the taste? Like you, I feel like they just took a can of tomatoes and threw it on bread.
SPEAKER_01Like, I kind of get it, like it's kind of delicious, and it's also kind of like not. It's like this is a good idea, and you forgot to season it. It's like really good, but without the spice or whatever.
SPEAKER_05Like, I feel like you had you're on the road, but my mother lived in Chicago before I was born, and she's like, Oh, the food in Chicago is so good. Not anymore. So I feel like whoever could cook, they just didn't pass on to their children.
SPEAKER_01I don't know what happened. Yeah, I don't know, but I went to like I've been to, I think it's Jordano's is like the number one deep dish place in Chicago.
SPEAKER_05Where's with me and Lisa?
SPEAKER_01I took Lisa there, and it wasn't it wasn't that good.
SPEAKER_03It was it was okay, it wasn't yeah, it was it was fine, it wasn't anything obviously memorable.
SPEAKER_01I know it's not, it's all right. I was very disappointed. I was very disappointed.
SPEAKER_05Like I think I think Chicago Uno's gave me a better hint of Chicago pizza than yeah.
SPEAKER_01I actually have a place I go to where I get them to make it and I like it better too. Like they just put their sauce on the top, and it's like really good. Where? Not gonna say.
SPEAKER_05Oh, really?
SPEAKER_01All over I've only listened to like what four episodes now, so I don't know. Now now that I finish the season, I can listen to episodes from this season because I don't want to spoil it for me, even though I've seen the show. Like, you know, I don't remember everything. So I started listening to that one episode where you're talking about me, and it was like, now they're talking about a show that I don't remember. I don't want to hear this. Also, there was another show I listened to randomly. I just like no lie. Okay, I don't know if I I might have texted or tweeted this to you or something, but this happened. No, no offense. I don't know. I listened to a random episode. I was and I literally like, I wonder if they ever talk about me. I listened to a random episode, and like about 10 minutes in, somebody said something like, Yeah, Jamar, the sexual innuendo, or something like that. And I was just like, wait a minute, I'm Jamar. But it was clear that you were referencing something from before and I didn't really get it, and I was just like, What the hell?
SPEAKER_05That is kind of awesome. Like, I wish you don't we have a phone number that you could call in? I think you should have called in and then we could have like like uh air, like literally what is this about?
SPEAKER_00And I literally posted it somewhere. It's like, uh, I'm Jamaica. What the hell are you talking about?
SPEAKER_05Lisa showed that to me because I don't have Twitter and I don't really bad at it. So it's that's what yeah, and I just stopped.
SPEAKER_02I was like, I'm gonna listen, I don't know what they're talking about. They're talking about me, I don't know what they're talking about.
unknownIt's weird.
SPEAKER_05Oh, you know what us?
SPEAKER_03And it wasn't somebody else with no, I got I just was a tweet about um Hey, that's me. That's me. Something like you're talking about me, but then you you wrote something like, Oh, but you're ahead of me now, or something.
SPEAKER_01Oh no, that's a different one. That was a later one. Okay, that's that's the only one I remembered time that you talked about me.
SPEAKER_05We talked about you quite a bit, okay. I didn't realize that.
SPEAKER_01I didn't realize that that was the second time. The other one was like maybe a month or two ago, yeah, it was a while ago.
SPEAKER_03I guess I missed that one.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, yeah, yeah. And I literally just picked a random episode. I was like, I wonder if they ever talk about me. And it was like seven minutes in, they were like, Jamar with the sexual something. So I was like, what the hell?
SPEAKER_05Lisa, how dare you? Yeah, it was Lisa. To be fair, I'm trying to get Lisa to fire her co-host and to hire you.
SPEAKER_01Oh, yeah, yeah. Yeah, I remember that from the last episode. Yeah, I'm still trying.
SPEAKER_03I discounts the episodes until the fan favorite with Jamar.
SPEAKER_02That's funny.
SPEAKER_03Um I hate to talk about lost, but um she was definitely looking forward to this one because she had some backup to hating it.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I really even like listening to her, I kind of dislike it again because I was like moving up a little bit and then to hear somebody else not like it. I'm moving back down again. Like, yeah, that season sucked. It was just so long, like you said in the beginning, it was so long to get to the cool stuff, which is really just a preface to season four, which is the last third of this is prefacing season four. That's because season four is good. The rest of this was like a waste of my time, and it was so hard getting through. I started watching it like a month or a month and a half ago to prepare for this episode, and it took me so long to get through the first like 11 episodes or more. I was just like, Oh, why do I do this? And I just let it play while I'm doing other stuff, and it was just like they're in the cages again. And I I thought they were about to have sex, but that time she just like went in a cage with them, but she didn't have sex, and there's like two episodes later that they did have sex. I was like, and I thought then that like Jack would see it, but it wasn't then. Jack didn't see it for another two episodes, and I was like, Oh my god, this is and then there was like Juliet with all her fucking sandwiches, and I was like, Oh, this is no, it's not this isn't the sandwich. Oh now, this is the sandwich. Oh, this is where they flooded. No, that's not where they flooded. Now, this is where they flooded. Oh, now this is she's giving Kate the sandwich, and Kate doesn't want the sandwich, and it's like it's the same stuff over and over and over again. I just I really didn't care about any of that stuff, any of that, and plus I already know that they're all gonna be like friends in five episodes, so it's really hard for me to watch it knowing that like Juliet joins them and like they're all buddy buddy.
SPEAKER_05Um, I actually hate Juliet. I start to dislike her more when she becomes part of them because it's so fake and phony to me. I feel like she's just foolish.
SPEAKER_01I totally get that, totally and like so I'm like, oh you definitely can't feel out who she is at all, like not even a little bit. Like, yeah, she definitely hates Ben, but she doesn't actually like the like our group at all. She doesn't feel like she's buddies with them at all, not even a little bit.
SPEAKER_05I feel like she's definitely self self-serving, but then her demeanor is so like I said this before, I'll say it again. The actress is amazing because the way she conveys this sense of helplessness or condescension is amazing to me. Like, how do you manage to do both amazes me as an actress? The character can go kick rocks, like she could have been very we could have kept her kept Anna Lucia and got rid of Juliet. Like, that's how I feel about it.
SPEAKER_01I don't disagree. The only reason I disagree is because I know season five.
SPEAKER_00So I mean, uh, or whatever might happen to G five. I mean, if there's G would Lucia maybe come back with Fast and Furious, I don't know.
SPEAKER_05Whoops, parallel universe. She might I I I totally I wouldn't be surprised with any of this shit. Whoops, I still think Mike's coming back for some reason. Did you see Missing Pieces? It's like a 13 seems a 13 episodes. I did, I did.
SPEAKER_01You did, and I did not, I did not did not.
SPEAKER_03Okay, so this is the first time even I watched them.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, yeah. We talked about it before, and I still didn't go look for it.
SPEAKER_05Mike is in a lot of the clips, and like it makes me feel like he's coming back.
SPEAKER_01Well, you know, one thing about this show, because I was thinking about it a lot in the season, it's not spoiling it. Is once you do flashbacks and you do flash forwards, everybody's fair game. Anybody can come back because you can always show their point, yeah.
SPEAKER_05But is it really their past? Because this is already oh doesn't matter.
SPEAKER_03I don't know, we'll see what you because even you you've got Ethan and a bunch of flashbacks, and flashbacks, it makes sense for a flashback, right?
SPEAKER_01Right, right, right.
SPEAKER_05But it does make sense too because the present is the present, and the island part two is the flash forward, and I'm not drunk enough with this shit right now. So is it you who's I wish I had more actually?
SPEAKER_01I mean, I do have some beer, but um I just put the whole bottle with me. I finished mine, but I only had like half a bottle. Um, you said something that I thought about in season three, and I I know I've talked about it every time I've been on the podcast. One thing about Lost, even if you hate the story and the show and all that, to me, it was the first or one of the first examples of like a huge ensemble cast where everybody is trying to get the Oscar, everybody's acting their ass, yeah.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, and you just can't, even if you hate it, you can't deny it. I was just watching Carl, and Carl puts it down in every scene. It's kind of funny. Carl's on the beach, like, what are you doing? Leave now, and his eyes were all bugged out.
SPEAKER_01I'm like, look at this dude is spitting everywhere, and everybody's sweating all the time. I'm like, they are really like everybody when they get their shot to say a line, they say they say the shit out of it.
SPEAKER_00No, I concur.
SPEAKER_02I am a person.
SPEAKER_03I mean, all of them. They're well, maybe not all of them, maybe not Nikki and Paolo, but um, but the characters are so well developed, they're so they're so they're they're real, they're all really well done, and the actors are very well cast. So it really does make for a good character-driven show, you know, in that in that respect. Like you you really believe what they're selling you.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, it's interesting because there's so many. Like, I don't know if there's any other show I can think of where like the average fan can name like 30 characters, maybe easily 30. I would imagine.
SPEAKER_05Even I can't, I hate everybody.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, so yeah, and you still can name 30 people easily, and they're all like really talented, they're all really good. Their stories kind of matter, even if it's a stupid story. You know that their story matters in the grand game. The grand game of things, absolutely, exactly.
SPEAKER_03Can't wait for season four, the beginning of the end.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, it'd be interesting. Like, whenever I do watch this, like if I come back, so I probably wouldn't just watch it just for the hell of it. But if you like come back, then I'll probably watch it.
SPEAKER_05Oh, you don't understand, you're kind of stuck with us. I don't, I think I don't know how you notice that it's by now. You are stuck with us, fan favorite for life.
SPEAKER_01That's like some creepy uh horror movie stuff. You're stuck with us.
SPEAKER_05Oh my gosh, I will not be ignored.
SPEAKER_01I you just actually you really, really did catch me at an in-between time. So a lot of weird things happened. One, I resigned from my real job, like I don't know, like two months ago, and then I was just gonna, I've been like partying and vacationing or whatever, but then I got really sick, and I just been homesick for like a like five, six weeks. So you really caught me at a time where I was like, I got nothing else to do. I'll watch Lost the whole time and I'll do this episode. But at some point, somebody should hire me, and I'm gonna be like, I'm sorry, I'm busy running the numbers of the business Sony.com.
SPEAKER_03You're gonna have to save an hour or so for us.
SPEAKER_05I'm just saying, you can listen to the you can listen to the episodes on your phone be in your car. Okay, you don't have to watch it, you can listen to show, you can listen to it. That's fine, and that's fine. Yeah, so I hope you don't listen.
SPEAKER_02That that's kind of messed up. For somebody's never seen the show.
SPEAKER_05Once I I did it one time I did, I was doing air events and I did watch, I did listen to the episode, and I had and I had my my phone on my screen, like for like the quick little things, the johns, but like I was yeah, late. I had things to do, I was procrastinating.
SPEAKER_01I was like, What do you do for all the stuff that's in Korean? Because that's what gets me. Is like I'll be listening, and they'd be like, Shh shit.
SPEAKER_05Oh I fill in the blanks.
SPEAKER_00I try to do that, and it doesn't work. I was like, oh no, the hell just happened. I've seen this show seven times, I don't know what they're talking about.
SPEAKER_05I I like in my head, this is what happened, and it works well because you know, and that's when Lisa does the synopsis, and I'm like, Oh, that's and then she fills in the gaps.
SPEAKER_00Oh, I had no idea they killed Jim. Okay, that makes sense.
SPEAKER_02That's why she was crying.
SPEAKER_03We're gonna smart ass. Okay. Um, Jamar, thank you so much for being here a third time.
SPEAKER_01Oh, thank you for having me. I laughed a lot this time.
SPEAKER_03We we definitely look forward to the fourth, yeah, this time, to the fourth time and the fifth time and the sixth time, just and then the new show that we do, right? Make sure you save that time for us.
SPEAKER_02Do a good show, uh like a new show.
SPEAKER_05You know what? I'll let you pick it. And if because it has to be a show that I've seen, so we gotta okay.
SPEAKER_01So I'll be like the new person then, I'll be the Agnes. Like, I don't know what's going on.
SPEAKER_03Hmm, I like that. Yeah, keep get your suggestions ready.
SPEAKER_01Interesting.
SPEAKER_03But until then, please, please, please tell everybody where they can find you.
SPEAKER_01Oh, yeah, you can find me pretty much everywhere at my name, which is Jamar Deron, G-E-R-M-A-R-D-E-R-R-O-N, or I prefer you go to the website at look to the cookie.org, which is a Seinfeld reference for people that don't get it, and now you'll remember it.
SPEAKER_05Thank you. Because I took it to a whole new level. Yeah, I think that's the session of when the podcame in. I think that's what I was, yeah.
SPEAKER_03Oh man, this was fun. It always is.
unknownCool.
SPEAKER_03Thank you again for being with us and putting up with us and and and all of it.
SPEAKER_01Yes, it's over.
SPEAKER_05Season three is done. Thank god, never again. Lisa, you owe me all right. Alcohol.
SPEAKER_03Too bad that package didn't show up.
SPEAKER_05So I'm sure it's in the foyer of the office. Yeah, you're lost. Pun intended.
SPEAKER_03Uh um, okay, but seriously, um, thank you so much for every one of you out there who's been with us through season three because it's been rough for us, so I'm sure it's been rough for you. And please consider supporting our humble train wreck of a show. And uh, no drinking and driving, drink responsibly. And I'm Lisa, and I'm Agnes, and we are out of here. Bye everyone.
SPEAKER_04Thank you, Jamar.
SPEAKER_01So let me tell you what happens in season four. Remember Naomi. Uh the first episode.
SPEAKER_05Oh, wait, what? Clink. Everything just shuts off.
SPEAKER_01Fade to black.
