SPEAKER_00

Hi and welcome to this episode of Sass and Sips, where every episode we discuss and dissect an episode of Lost in Order. And we are your hosts. I'm Lisa.

SPEAKER_04

And I'm Agnes.

SPEAKER_00

And today's episode is the Glass Ballerina. What are you drinking today?

SPEAKER_04

Mommy coffee.

SPEAKER_00

Mommy coffee. I already I should already know.

SPEAKER_04

Oh, should I call it granny coffee?

SPEAKER_00

Mm-hmm. It's getting closer and closer. I'm gonna be a guilf. I have some red wine.

SPEAKER_04

Lovely. I just reminded me. I gotta buy my neighbor a bottle of wine for her birthday. I gotta I think I'm gonna wait till all my bills come out.

SPEAKER_00

My birthday is soon too.

SPEAKER_04

Well, what if I just have you why don't you just come to Wisconsin for like a year? For a year. I mean it's remote anyway, right? Everything's remote these days. Life is remote.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

I like it better that way.

SPEAKER_00

I need to find a new job and I don't want to. I mean, I I really like my old job, but I need to find a new job. So anyone out there knows of something I could do working from home, hook us up. Help me out. Anyway, enough. Um The Glass Ballerina.

SPEAKER_04

Right? Cause we're like, this is the hardest episode for us to record. Like, we just can't get it together.

SPEAKER_00

We're like really ADHD challenged today.

SPEAKER_04

I think I'm channeling under boss squirrel or something.

SPEAKER_00

Because I'm like, ooh, look at the pretty oh, what's that? Alright, Sun and Jin. Ready for flashbacks?

SPEAKER_04

Yeah. Flashback me, baby.

SPEAKER_00

A glass ballerina flies through the air gracefully and then smashes on the floor. A young son hub pike runs away with fear. Later, her father confronts her, asking if it was she who broke the glass ballerina. Sun denies breaking the glass figurine, telling her father that it was the maid who broke it. Despite her father's threat to fire the maid as a consequence, she stands by her accusation. Years later, Sun is in bed with Jay Lee, the man who offered to give her lessons on how to speak English. Feeling guilt, she reminds him that she is married and so she cannot go on further. He offers her a string of pearls, saying that he doesn't want to share her anymore, and offers that they go to America and start a new life. Before she can answer, Sun's father breaks into the room and tells a deeply ashamed son to get dressed. Sun watches Jay's funeral from a far distance. These are just her side of the flashbacks. Yeah. Sun watches Jay's funeral from a far distance, not wanting anyone to see her. However, her father spots her and confronts her about why she is there. Sun questions her father as to whether or not he would tell Jin about her her and Jay's relationship. He said that it was not his place to do so and left, telling Sun to go home to her husband. Jin's flashbacks. Mr. Pike assigns Jin the task of putting an end to J Lee's stealing from him. When Jin refuses, threatening to quit if this must be his job, Pike gives him a speech Pike gives a speech to Jin referring to him as Sun. My shame is your shame, Pike tells him, and Jin finally accepts. When Jin arrives home, he is further aggravated by Sun and her risky suggestions to run away to another part of the world. He reminds her what he does for her father is the cost of being able to be with her. He leaves the room to deliver the message. Later, Jin waits in his car. He follows J Lee to his hotel room and violently attacks him and puts a gun to J Lee's head and is about to kill him. J Lee cries that he's sorry, thinking that Jin is attacking him because of his affair with Sun. Jin cannot bring himself to pull the trigger and warns him to leave Korea and never return. As Jin sits in his car afterward, the body of J Lee falls from above onto the hood of the car, clutching the pearl necklace he wanted to give Sun. That's not some irony.

SPEAKER_04

That was deep. For some reason, I had a feeling. I know I know they want to imply that he killed himself because he was holding the necklace. Because you're like, damn. But something in my bones is like, I don't think son's father thought, I don't think he believed he was gonna kill him. Like I don't think he trusted him to kill him. So I think I feel like he has someone there to like finish the deed if he didn't. Like, I don't know why. It seems like something his father would seem like something his father in law would do. And yeah, I don't maybe I'm just reading too much into it, but I'm like, I can if I found out in like six episodes or next season that son's father has sent somebody else just to make sure it got done and he threw them out the window, I wouldn't be surprised.

SPEAKER_00

I don't really remember if if there's any resolution on that.

SPEAKER_04

Oh, you just leave it as is.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, I don't I don't remember, to be honest with you.

SPEAKER_04

So I remember a point that I wanted to make like like a hundred seasons ago. I think it's one of those points I thought of, but I just kind of I forgot about it. So first you had the flashback, not first, but one of the earlier flashbacks, that she was leaving him. Like she had it planned out, and then they're at the airport, but she decided not to. And it just kind of clicked, like they're all in Australia, but all the other flashbacks with her and her fair and all subsequent flashbacks, they're still in Korea. So I'm like, wait, how did they get to Australia to begin with? You know what I mean? Like the plan, like were they was it like Korea, Australia like when they leave to go to LA? Was Australia just one of those um flight change areas?

SPEAKER_00

No. Okay. He had to deliver, Jin had to deliver a watch to LA. Like he had but he had business in Australia, that's why they were there.

SPEAKER_04

Okay, that part I kind of missed. Okay.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, some something like that. Like he had to do business in Australia, and so they were gonna go to Australia, then go to go to L LA and then just wait, how'd they get to Australia?

SPEAKER_04

Like, where's the how'd they get from Korea to Australia? It's I feel like in my mind that like all the fla after the airport flashback, they're always in Korea. I'm like, wait. Right. Okay, it was uh something that I missed, and I keep it was like in the back of my brain, and it c it it came back to the forward of the brain watching this episode. Okay, I'm gonna sleep now.

SPEAKER_00

On the Elizabeth and at the Palo Ferry, Sun washes her face in the bathroom of the Elizabeth. As Jin enters to check on her, she tells him it's morning sickness. They go to the top deck where Saeed is waiting. The three of them debate on the best course of action. Said thinks of moving to a different part of the island because the mountains may be blocking Jack's sight of the signal fire. But Jin refuses. He thinks he is the only one who knows how to sail, but he is wrong as Sun knows too, and she will help Said. Do you think that now that we know that Sun was in fact having an affair with Jane Lee disclosed her pregnancy into question?

SPEAKER_04

Number Jen is supposed to be I yeah, I I yeah, I think we kind of assume that to begin with. But it'd be kind of funny if if Jay was impotent was um f infertile, so that it'd be funny if all none of them could get pregnant and the island got her pregnant. Like I just I mean, yeah, it was called into question when we first assume like when we first Well you assumed, but now now we know for a fact that they were having an affair. Yeah, it definitely calls into question.

SPEAKER_00

What if it's Michael's baby?

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, no.

SPEAKER_00

Okay. While sailing to the mountains, Jinn questions Sun as to why she even came with Saeed and him in the first place. She simply responds that he knows why. She must be with him. On the boat, Jinn angrily prepares some fish. Jinn, son, and Said spot the Palaferi dock. They believe that it is the others, but Saeed says that it has not been used for some time, and whoever built it, they're not here now. Said tells Jinn that the dock is overgrown. They decide to dock. Jinn does not think it is safe, but Said says, of course it's safe. As Saeed, son, and Jinn build the new signal fire, Sun questions why it is so large. Said says that it is so Jack will see the smoke, but Sun asks him why he is lying. Said admits that he suspects that the other party has been captured and he plans to provoke an attack by the others in order to capture two of them as hostages and kill the rest. When Sun asks why they must capture exactly two, Saeed replies that it is to make the other one talk. Saeed thinks that Jin will be too concerned with Sun's safety to carry out this plan and asks her not to tell him for another 20 minutes when it will be too late to change plans. Jinn later demands a gun from Saeed, telling Sun that he understands English better than she thinks he does, and he knows that she has betrayed him.

SPEAKER_04

Damn, I was like, well, I mean, one, just like we've learned Korean, just watching it, I'm just joking. But it's like, yeah, you're gonna pick up something. But he's like, I you can keep secrets, I can keep secrets too.

SPEAKER_00

Saeed gives him a gun, asking if he can handle it, but before he can finish his sentence, Jin has checked that the gun is loaded and has it prepared. Said looks surprised while Sun looks away, apparently in shame. As Jin walks off, Said tells Sun that there is another gun hidden in the boat in the blue tarp. Just in case the others get past Jin and himself. Sun tells him that if they get past, that means Jin is dead and that she won't care to live anymore.

SPEAKER_04

No, I mean it was a beautiful sentiment, but I mean, short of my child, there's really no one I won't Yeah, I can't see me wanting to die and losing someone else. Like I said, short of my child, that's a different story. No one should no one should lose a child. But a husband, a spot, like but anyway, did you that part on the boat when she she was magnanimous? She's like, you know what, I apologize, I should never disagree with you in front of Said. And I and I I respect that. And he goes, You shouldn't and then his reply was, I sh you shouldn't disagree with me, period. I was like, uh wait, hold on, wait a minute. Back that shit up. I am a huge proponent of when it comes to like relationships, friendships, and like all that type. You leave the partner who you came with, you support who like I believe in I'm huge on loyalty. So you may not disagree with your best friend or your partner in front of other people. I mean, unless it's something like completely your own, like, unless it's like, you know, you know, crazy. But you absolutely do it in private. Like, yo, that was kind of fucked up. Like, I'll have your back in front of people. I'm gonna let you know something about like, yeah. I mean, unless it's something crazy, like, you know, you're you're mean to a waiter or something. You know what I mean? Then like, you don't lost your fucking mind. But anyway, um, but he was like, You don't disagree with me at all?

SPEAKER_03

I'm like, wait, what?

SPEAKER_04

She looked at him. I think the look was like it was a very nice, respectful, you got me fucked up look.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. But I think that also they are still coming into their new roles.

SPEAKER_04

Absolutely.

SPEAKER_00

Because she would never really have well, and her own. She might not have said that before. Well, she might have said that, but she wouldn't have done that. She wouldn't have gone against him before.

SPEAKER_04

No.

SPEAKER_00

And she did now, and she is apologizing, and I think that he's still new to this role of her being his equal in that sense.

SPEAKER_04

And I really think both of them as a whole, as a couple and individually, are doing quite well adapting to new things and refining, and actually, on top of rebuilding their marriage, like when they crashed, their marriage was on the verge of like she was literally gonna leave him an hour before, you know what I mean? So, considering all that they've been through, they're doing quite well, and I love them as a couple. I I I actually like them individually too. I really do.

SPEAKER_00

Do you think that Jay being dead, Jay Lee being dead, had something to do with her choosing not to leave at the end?

SPEAKER_04

No, I think because she was really she was set on going to go. And we at this point we really don't know what it now we just assumed she was going with Jay. Now we're like, what what happened to make her like that step gone? Like this. Um and I kind of feel like she kind of knows that Jay was a message, but any was a message she was like, anyway. Um I think at that last moment it was like oh, I do love my husband. I love this man, I love what he's uh I I do love him. I don't think Jay's death was what turned her or changed her mind. Because it's quite obvious before then she was going to go. I think it was it was really a last second thing. It was like at that moment, so yeah. I think his death why can't I speak English? I think his death drink more. Drink more, right? Really pushed her to go though. I think that was I think that was what precipitated her resolve to go initially.

SPEAKER_00

Okay. I'm like, are you frozen or are you just like smiling? Okay.

SPEAKER_04

I was I I was I was just smiling and then I'm like, wait, let me see how long I keep this still. Like it was like it was improv.

SPEAKER_00

Once night falls, Said and Jinn look into the jungle from a tree, guns ready, but at the same time, a group of others board the Elizabeth from the water, avoiding Saeed and Jinn's trap on the beach. Sun hears noises above deck and gets the gun. Colleen climbs down into the lower deck and sees a pot on the stove. Colleen hears a noise and turns to find Sun pointing a gun at her. Sun says that she wants him to let her off the boat. Colleen refuses, saying that she can't do that. She knows Sun's full names and knows that she is not a killer. Then she states that we are not the enemy, but if you shoot me, that's exactly what we'll become. As the engine starts up, Colleen approaches Sun, who shoots Colleen in the stomach. Sun narrowly avoids gunfire from Tom and Ivan, who see her downstairs after the gunshot. Sun escapes the Elizabeth by jumping overboard and swimming through the darkness. Meanwhile, Jin and Saeed realize what is happening and they run towards the polyferry. Jin jumps into the water after Sun, and the two embrace after finding each other. Back at the beach, Sun sits dripping wet when Jin comes to embrace her. Said then comes to tell her how sorry he is and that he will listen to Jin in the future. He says that they should go. They have a long walk ahead of them.

SPEAKER_04

Okay, so I had two points about this little part. Does anyone on this island know how to communicate effectively? Like, you know, it's a back and forth. One speaks, or the other one listens. Not just hears, but actually listens, and then it goes back and forth. No one actually knows how to communicate effectively at all. Period. Um can you imagine like a whole island of people just like it's my way or no way? Like everybody. Anyway, and the other thing I respect Saeed as a person, well, character, whatever. Because let's be honest, 2020, hindsight's 2020. Oh, 2020 is high, whatever. Hindsight's 2020, while my brain is what I am too sober for this today. Um Lord have mercy. So you don't know until you know. Initially, the plan could have worked. They don't know It wasn't a bad plan.

SPEAKER_00

How were they supposed to know that they were gonna clean from the water?

SPEAKER_04

Right. They didn't know that they saw them come, like they, you know. So I think, granted, I I respect him saying maybe I should have listened to you, you know. But I don't think not listening to him was a cause of the, you know, because they still don't know how what they're dealing with. The others, they don't know that they have centuries, they don't know how they don't understand, they still don't know what they're dealing with.

SPEAKER_00

So they would never could have tell, they didn't know that they knew that they were coming with a boat, but this in fairness, they should have realized that having a boat was a possibility because two reasons. Number one, they took Waltz off the raft. You all you could only get to that raft by boat unless they fucking swam, and we all it and that's just not the you know what I mean, like when they left and they took Waltz off the raft. There's only there's very few ways that somebody can get to that raft once it set sail. I don't know, but I'm saying or by sea. So they didn't know that the others knew that they had a boat, like they didn't have no idea that the others know, so they this my point is that to only think that they can come from land might have been short-sighted. Because also remember when when they put sentries on the beach because they were gonna like uh were they protecting Claire? I forgot what they were doing. And remember and Boone fell asleep and we were like, oh fucking Boone. Yeah, but they came from the water.

SPEAKER_04

Also, but uh to be also they didn't when they got Elizabeth, they they did they come from the water? All you saw them was getting on the boat because Elizabeth was still docked at the ferry. They were looking inward, but they like they didn't take the boat from water, they actually just walked onto the ferry.

SPEAKER_00

Okay, but but that's my point, also, is that they were only focused on one. On the land, not even to the idea that they could have been coming from another direction.

SPEAKER_04

Good point, yeah, you're right. You're absolutely right.

SPEAKER_00

Which is which is kind of a letdown from Said because you feel like Saeed should have been a little bit more um adept to this.

SPEAKER_04

Also, I think unless it's I think in in real life, in real life TV, yes, there are yeah, there was a little short-sighted, but at the same time, that's what goes with how com that I think that's important with communication with other people because one person can't think of every single thing. Something just might get like, oh shit, I didn't think of that. And you know you should have, but that's when you're supposed to communicate with somebody else and be like, Well, what about X? Oh, good point. So I think it goes to like back to them, no one knows how to communicate, everyone wants their way.

SPEAKER_00

It wasn't a bad plan. Like, you you make the signal fire, you draw attention, they come, see the boat, and would think, Oh, I'm gonna I'm gonna go investigate that, and they'd have to kind of pass them, but but you're at the edge of the water, and you know, you have to know at this point that these people have access.

SPEAKER_04

Or at the very least, they're smart than you like, they're more not what's They're smarter. They're more organized. As a group. So like that should have been kind of like you but you're right. You're absolutely right. They should like at the very least.

SPEAKER_00

Because that's what happened the last time. You thought they were gonna come from one direction and they came from another.

SPEAKER_04

Or they didn't even come there at all. Like that should have been your good point.

SPEAKER_00

Good point. Maybe they should have been like on the boat too. I'm just saying. But it's it's like it's neither here nor there. I mean, at this point, but shall I go on?

SPEAKER_04

Yes. And I'm gonna get more tipsy so I can speak coherently.

SPEAKER_00

Juliet brings Jack's soup she made herself. When Jack pays her no attention, she leaves and knocks on a door, which Ben opens. Behind him, we can see TV monitors with security footage. As Ben and Juliet share a moment outside Jack's cell, Colleen enters by a ladder, warning Ben that Said has discovered the decoy village and that he somehow has acquired a sailboat. Although Juliet states that this is not a threat, they'll just sail around in circles. Ben and Colleen seem worried that they will find them. Ben tells Colleen to gather a team and that's and that he wants the boat. I want that boat. Later at the cages, Sawyer wins another fish biscuit. Danny and some more others open the cages and give them lunch. They escort Sawyer and Kate along a path. They cross paths with Colleen's team and she asks him to wait. She whispers something to him about her mission. He tells her to be careful and kisses her on the cheek. Sawyer watches with a smirk. Sawyer and Kate are taken to a quarry where a number of others are working. Pickett tells Kate to break up the rocks and tells Sawyer to move them. He also warns them that if they attempt anything that pisses him off, they will be shocked with the stun gun. When Kate demands to see Jack, Pickett shocks Sawyer as her punishment for speaking. While Kate is working, Alex hides in the bushes and asks her if she has seen a boy in the cages. Kate replies that she hasn't seen him. Alex then tells Kate that the dress Kate is wearing was hers, but that Kate looks better in it. Sawyer catches Juliet's eye as she drinks water. She offers him the bottle, but despite her friendly smile, Sawyer simply offends the bottle in a gesture of defiance. Sawyer breaks the rules and kisses Kate in an apparent display of romantic passion. Pickett steps in to separate them. Sawyer punches him, sparking a fight. Luke and the others try to suppress Sawyer, but he overpowers them and grabs a dropped rifle. As Sawyer looks up, he sees that Juliet is holding Kate at gunpoint and she tells James to give up. Sawyer reluctantly drops his resistance. That evening, back at the cages, Sawyer speaks to Kate and reveals he was testing the strength of the guards, and that it seemed that the others weren't used to violence. He also says that Juliet would have shot Kate without hesitation, and that now they have to wait until the others make a mistake. Kate asks Sawyer why she called him James, and he tells her that it is because it's his name. While they talk, Ben is watching and listening to them on the security monitors. So he hears that whole thing. But that was pretty smart of Sawyer.

SPEAKER_04

I love Sawyer. Because everything he did, what was when the dude was kissing Colleen, he's like everything, he sees everything. He doesn't comment on a lot of things. I love Sawyer.

SPEAKER_00

I swear to God, if you put him and Sae together.

SPEAKER_04

It could be a mastermade in heaven or hell by somebody else. Depends which side you're on.

SPEAKER_00

One, I'd love to be the Oreo filling. Two the Queen filling. And two, I think that the island would have been run in very different ways.

SPEAKER_04

You already know how I feel about that.

SPEAKER_00

A lot less mistakes and a lot of different tactics.

SPEAKER_04

You already know how I feel about that.

SPEAKER_00

But I think that the two of them together would have been an excellent team. In the aquarium, Ben visits Ben visits Jack. He jokes, telling him a week ago they were in the exact opposite situation. Ben was locked up in the swan, and Jack was the one coming in for visits. He then goes on to tell Jack that he lied about his identity, because if he had told him the truth about being a member of the group that the survivors called the others, it would have been right back to Said and his fists. Ben then tells Jack that he wants him to change his perspective on things. He then introduces himself as Benjamin Linus and offers his hand, which Jack rejects. Do you think that's his real name?

SPEAKER_04

I think so. I don't know. We're gonna go out with that until I find out that I'm wrong.

SPEAKER_00

He also tells Jack that he has lived on the island his whole life, and that Jack's friends are close by. Ben tells Jack that he will need him to do something for him in the future, and he will take him home, just like he did for Walton Michael. Jack then tells Ben that he thinks that the others are stuck on the island just like them. Ben proves that the others have contact with the outside world by telling Jack about events that have happened since Flight A fifteen crashed, including the re-election of U.S. President George W. Bush, the death of Christopher Reef, and the Boston Red Sox winning the World Series.

SPEAKER_04

The fact that he laughed so hard, I thought that to be funny.

SPEAKER_00

Jack laughs at this. And I I love it because he's like, well, now I know you're lying. Shit. I watched it and we were in fucking disbelief. Ben shows Jack the video of the Red Sox winning the World Series. Ben tells Jack that he will take him home if Jack helps him when the time comes. It's so stupid because it's like he's like, if you wanted me to believe you, you should have picked any other team.

SPEAKER_03

Right. Go figure.

SPEAKER_00

And then when he when he shows in the video, Jack's face was all of us, even though it was like You were actually watching it at the time.

SPEAKER_04

You're like really happy.

SPEAKER_00

But we were all like, what the fuck just happened? Fuck the Red Sox. But anyway. But yeah, so that's pretty much the end of the episode.

SPEAKER_04

The thing about this synopsis, and I don't think I've ever noticed it written any other way. Instead of just giving you the on island a college order, they actually group they're bashing it, and it's kind of like out of sequence. Yeah. You know, so I was like, I just thought of like, I don't remember it being it being written like this before.

SPEAKER_00

Some of them have been.

SPEAKER_04

Oh, I guess it was as noticeable. This one was quite noticeable. I'm like, I call myself making a point. I said, no, I can't because that really she didn't discuss that point yet, but she kind of discussed the ask and the result of that point. It was kind of weird, but yeah. So I only only comment I had about this episode was the Paula Fairy. And I was like, I feel like this means something. So I Google Paula, and it means a whole lot of different things that kind of fit, and it's kind of funny how it's all very different, like what it means in different languages, and it still fits. I don't talk about nine things, and I like one is um oh my god, the one I didn't remember, Pala California is a mostly Native American, it's a city in California. A lot of more Native Americans live there, and initially the Franciscan monks, like I think when it was still like part of like when Mexico, like during that time when Mexico still had California, the Franciscan monks had that town to indoctrinate the American and the Native Americans. So I find that it's kind of like paralleling this islands and their I feel like last week's episode with them all the mind games and the torture and the and the fact that his name Palaferi I think it was kind of telling in of itself. I know it's kind of maybe it's a stretch, maybe I should do some exercises before I reach that hard. But I just saw the connection between the two. It was kind of interesting.

SPEAKER_00

I don't know if there's like what the connection is.

SPEAKER_04

Honestly, I just don't remember if there is one to boot. I don't know if there really is one, but since I've learned watching the show that I have to um things that pop in my head, I gotta take it so that it's more than just a name.

SPEAKER_03

So I I actively have to like look for connection, even if there isn't connection at all. It's funny. Like I can't just there could be.

SPEAKER_00

And I did listen to the other day when when you went on that whole long answer, and then I asked you the question, and you were like, I just I was like oh yeah, she really did.

SPEAKER_02

I was waiting for you to then edit it.

SPEAKER_01

I was yeah, I meant to tell you sooner, but I find that to be funny now.

SPEAKER_02

You just treat me you treat me like every man in my life. You don't do anything I have to say. Wow. That was funny. That does that have me laughing.

SPEAKER_00

Anyway, okay, all right. Focus me for trivia. Ben gave the current date on the island as November 29th, 2004. And he claimed that he sent Michael and Walt home, but he will take Jack home. So you make of that what you will.

SPEAKER_04

I do not know. I do not know. I know nothing about the lost. But he's been on his whole life. For some reason, I believe that. I don't know why, but I do.

SPEAKER_00

Jin had previously met J. Lee before meeting Sun during the flashback of events of and found. Yeah. There's not really any so according to the closed captioning, Colleen tells Pickett that Ben wants her to take the Galaga to get the sailboat from Saeed, Sun, and Jinn. So we can assume that Galaga is some type of boat because we know that they didn't come from the land.

SPEAKER_04

Also, the um the the I have a okay, so the boat that they took the boy in, is that the same boat that they sent Michael off in? It looks like it. I wasn't sure. Maybe it was a tender of some sort. Or the Galica, is it the gang? I don't know. Does Gallica mean anything?

SPEAKER_00

Isn't it a game? Like is it from like the 80s? I'm pretty sure it is.

SPEAKER_04

Oh, I never even heard of it before.

SPEAKER_00

Oh my god, you poor child.

Okay.

SPEAKER_00

So Christopher Reed died on October 10th, 2004. The Red Sox won the series on October 27th. And the election was November 2nd. So in in like our time, we're watching this episode. It's really October 2006. But to prove that it you know it's November of 2004 on the island, they shall say. So the name of the episode is oh, the metronome that Sun is playing along with in the beginning of the episode is set at a tempo of 108 minute beats per minute.

SPEAKER_01

Okay.

SPEAKER_00

108, like the countdown and the hatch.

SPEAKER_04

Oh, which is the was just all the numbers added up. And then all the numbers added up times three was another number that was used somewhere else.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

108 times three was some something to do with orientation video. I feel like there was something else. They're gonna be there 500 X, 300 things like days, they're gonna be whatever the case may be. Right, right, right. Yep. Math is fun.

SPEAKER_00

The name of the episode is The Glass Ballerina, which we see literally in the beginning of the episode.

SPEAKER_04

But any other no. I no. Yeah. That kind of left me. I'm like, all right, I didn't get the besides the obvious, I didn't see the uh connection other than how maybe the the fragility of life, other fragile.

SPEAKER_00

That's what I was thinking. Like in terms of sun being like kind of fragile.

SPEAKER_04

I took it like I think I I think I kind of like that her per se, because everyone has I think it just man in general. She broke the ballerina.

SPEAKER_03

She would have J. She broke J.

SPEAKER_01

No, that's exactly what I feel like and he landed in glass.

SPEAKER_04

Right. So I think it's just like you know, like it's easy to break things around you without with no ill intent. Yeah, just like life sucks that way.

SPEAKER_00

It also mentions here that Ben told Jack that home was on the other side of the glass.

SPEAKER_04

That he's behind or the figurative invisible shields, because you know of the islands, whatever.

SPEAKER_00

Figatively behind when Kate is working, Alex asks her if Carl is still in the cages. Right, because Kate wasn't there when Carl was there. Right. So now, do you have you thought that Carl was there as a I thought it was part of the plan, obviously.

SPEAKER_04

I don't think so now. No. I know Alex, I don't I don't know, but I know Alex isn't part of the plan. Like, you know what I mean? Her interactions with them is not a mental game.

SPEAKER_00

How do you know she's not like that's not part of it though?

SPEAKER_04

I like I said, I don't know, but I know. I it's just like something about it. Yeah. Very interesting.

SPEAKER_00

So the next episode is further instructions. It's a lock episode. How do you feel about that?

SPEAKER_01

We're gonna find out how he got this accident, how he whatever happened to his legs.

SPEAKER_04

Like what was the accident? I'm assuming it was an accident. I don't see I mean what else could it be, you know. Maybe he's whatever. Uh I kinda wanna know what happened. Are we gonna find out what happened to my man's legs?

SPEAKER_01

Hi, Terry.

SPEAKER_00

Anything else about this episode before we uh wrap up?

SPEAKER_04

Um I the season is not really I'm I'm like it was okay. Like I enjoyed watching the episode better than the season premiere.

SPEAKER_01

But I don't know.

SPEAKER_04

If all the episodes are like this one, then I might be okay with the season. Is it just okay?

SPEAKER_00

Well, you you tend to like lock episodes. I know you find them kind of straightforward, but I enjoy them.

SPEAKER_04

But I kind of want more on island. I don't want I don't mean I don't I don't know if I want closure per se, but I kind of want it to let's go, let's get to the meat, let's get to the purpose, let's get to the next thing, let's get to the next purpose, let's get to the next day, let's get to the next purpose.

SPEAKER_00

Like I kind of want to well, and speaking of Locke, we haven't even seen him yet. We haven't seen him or any of the other survivors, I could write so we still don't know what happened.

SPEAKER_04

I can see I forgot about that.

SPEAKER_02

They got me all the way just like is this is it?

SPEAKER_04

Okay, that's like put up and everything else. I think that's another reason I'm kind of like I won't say boredom. I'm like, can we move on? Yeah, okay.

SPEAKER_01

Give me this, give me okay.

SPEAKER_00

Aside from finding out what happened to Locke and like you know how he ended up in the wheelchair. Is there anyone else that you really want to like see their backstory or any particular character that you really want to know something specific about their backstory at this point?

SPEAKER_04

Libby. I'm sorry. I still want Libby. Okay, um aside from Libby. Okay, Juliet is very interesting to me. Okay. What do you think their story is? I have absolutely no idea. Now I'm thinking maybe Juliet and Ben aren't a romantic relationship. Maybe they're siblings and they have that you have annoyed the fuck out of me, but you're my sister brother, so I gotta at least I gotta I can't I can't kill you yet. I don't know. I feel like the relationship is there's something, there's something I don't know what it is. It's definitely contentious, but there's still that sense of I can't kill you, fuck it. Um I kind of want to know what's going on with those two. Because now, like maybe they weren't lovers. I feel like maybe I don't know, there's something going on with those two. Um, but Juliette is a very interesting because it's one that when Sawyer said, Oh, she would have shot you in a heartbeat. That was my my feeling too, because she was just very calm, very matter-of-fact. And she's like, I don't want to do this, but I'll do it if I have to. And I'm not gonna give a fuck, I'm not gonna feel bad about doing it either. Um so Juliet is something I kind of want to know more about. And let me stop.

SPEAKER_00

Okay. Do you want me to tell you if there's a Juliet flashback?

SPEAKER_04

Nope. Okay, don't tell me because you're not gonna tell me anyway.

SPEAKER_01

So I'm not gonna I was, but fine. Okay, for the next episode of the shit show.

SPEAKER_00

Um, we will do the episode further instructions. Ooh, further instructions. That sounds that sounds cool though. Like the title, further instructions. Sounds like you might learn something. I know. I don't know. I love it. I mean, even though I know what happens, but whatever, I know, I know. But stay tuned for that one. And it's a lock episode, and we all know how Agnes feels about John Locke.
