"Ooh, fifty days? That's, what, almost two whole months. Tell me, you go over a man's house for the first time, do you take off your shoes, d'you put your feet up on his coffee table, d'you walk in the kitchen, eat food that doesn't belong to you, open the door to rooms you got no business opening? You know, somebody a whole lot smarter than anybody here once said, "Since the dawn of our species, man has been blessed with curiosity." You know the other one about curiosity, don't you Jack? This is not your island. This is *our* island. And the only reason you're living on it, is because we let you live on it." - Tom Friendly aka Zeke

SPEAKER_00

Hi and welcome to this episode of Sassin Tips, where every episode we will be discussing and dissecting an episode of Lost in Order. We are your hosts. I'm Lisa.

SPEAKER_02

And I'm Agnes.

SPEAKER_00

And today's episode is the hunting party. What are you drinking today?

SPEAKER_02

My favorite morning cup of coffee with a little bit of extra love in it.

SPEAKER_00

Mm-hmm. I bet. I just have a seltzer with some vodka in it. So homemade hard seltzer. Don't even say anything about an ice cream. I'm like scarred for life now.

SPEAKER_02

Listen, I don't I didn't tell you to move there.

SPEAKER_00

No, be moving out soon.

SPEAKER_02

I'm excited for that.

SPEAKER_00

It's yeah. If it ever happens. Anyway. So today's episode is a Jack episode. Any thoughts or any comments before we get into it?

SPEAKER_02

No, I know this week we're gonna see whether I was right or wrong, whether it was Jack's fault, because Jack sucks balls and it's always his fault. Um, we're gonna just see how much of it is his fault.

SPEAKER_00

Well, you did say you wanted more about what happened with his wife, and so this episode did give it to you. Although it's not the whole story.

SPEAKER_02

The whole story. Right. There was a little like, oh, that's a surprise. There wasn't more like, well, for golly with a curse.

SPEAKER_00

Mm-hmm. And you said that whatever happened between them was his fault.

SPEAKER_02

Only because I don't like him.

unknown

Okay.

SPEAKER_02

Do you still feel that way? I think it's more, I think this was a total maybe 70, no, 65 to 35. 35 being his fault.

SPEAKER_00

Interesting.

SPEAKER_02

And I will explain my reasonings later.

SPEAKER_00

Okay. In flashback, Jack and Christian disagree. No, I'm wrong already. Three words in New Record. Jack and Christian diagnose an elderly man with a spinal tumor and determine he's not a candidate for surgery. However, the man and his daughter reveal that they specifically sought out Jack, whom they know helped his wife to walk after her spine was crushed in a car accident. They're looking for a miracle, and much to his father's dismay, Jack agrees to perform the surgery. Like this should not even be a surprise, Christian. Jack and the man's daughter, Gabriella, form a connection, a dangerous one, according to Christian, who warns Jack to keep his distance. When Christian warns him, he said he says something like Be careful, Jack. There's a line. And he's like, uh something to the effect of there's a line, and you know it's there, and like you can't cross it. Or something like that. And Jack tells him, Well, you would know. So what do you take that to mean?

SPEAKER_02

I mean, what? Did he have an affair with a patient at one point or an affair with somebody else? It wasn't something that was like, we obviously know that that there's fucking father-son issues, and he has issues the way his father was when he was growing up, whatever, the type of husband he was, type of father he was. Um just more the same shit. I think much of it.

SPEAKER_00

Well, I think that it could mean a few things. I think that the um on one hand, it could refer to Jack marrying Sarah. Oh and like you already, you know, dipped in the patient water. And I'm I'm sure that his father realizes that shit's not going great. So but then that really doesn't make sense what when he said, Well, you would know, unless there's something else there that we don't know about that we don't right, that we don't know in terms of their marriage. On the other hand, it could mean just having an affair, in which case when Jack says, Well, you would know, it could mean that his father has had an affair, which would also make sense when you think about like one of the first episodes that we saw when his mother is like, Oh, you gotta go get him, and it's like, Where'd he go this time?

SPEAKER_02

There's obviously something going on, but it's not enough. So I'm like, you don't want to dissect right now. You're like, Oh, there's so much shit going on with those two. You're like, it could be anything, like, yeah. They're they'll write it in later. I'll deal with it later.

SPEAKER_00

Jack is spending nights and weekends at the hospital working overtime while Gabriella is there at her father's side through a series of tests and pre-surgical procedures. This is causing a disharmony at home, and Jack and Sarah's marriage is paying the price because Jack is considered a miracle worker. She tells Jack that the pregnancy test she took was negative. Oh, and she also says, Don't worry, it was negative. Right. He asks if she wants to talk about it, but she refuses. She gets up and she says, See you later, and leaves her room. I feel like in that scene, she just like I kind of feel bad for him. And and I'm gonna tell you why. This is his job, this is what he does. This has always been what he's done since she's known him. Now we don't know if like he's he said he's never wanted kids, or but there's two possibilities. Either he has said that he wanted kids, or he said that he didn't want kids. If he said that he didn't want kids, then I could kind of understand why she tells him that in the s in the way she does, where it's like, don't worry, but then that would mean that she was upset by it. Because he says you want to talk about it. If he didn't if he never wanted kids and she never wanted kids, what like what would the discussion be about? You know what I mean? Um that'd be yeah, yeah, right?

SPEAKER_02

I see, yeah, I see.

SPEAKER_00

Like if you if you got into a relationship right now, you know you don't want any more kids. So like what what would even if you had the scare and the guy says and the guy made it clear he didn't want kids, like my tone wouldn't be sarcastic.

SPEAKER_02

Right. I feel like there's obviously there's more going on in the marriage. I think at this point of the episode, there's definitely a disconnect there. And I just took it yeah, I just took it as there's obviously something going on with the marriage. What it is, I don't know, but obviously having a child, whoever whatever the case might be, isn't the right time, period. I didn't go into details of who, what, where, why. It wasn't a matter of fault. Absolutely, it was more like uh having a child this time was not a good point in the relationship.

SPEAKER_00

The way she says it, it's like she's throwing it in his face. As if like like I got the impression that it was it the the words that were not said were I really want to have a kid. I took a pregnancy test, it was negative, don't worry, as in you're off the hook, you don't have to be there, you don't have to stick around for us. Like absolutely, and and she was making him feel bad about his job, but that's his job, that's always been his job. Like, how do you marry a man who is so dedicated to his job when it was okay for you and he was not you know when he was fixing you, but now you're gonna hold it against him because he's still that same man who's dedicated to being a miracle worker?

SPEAKER_02

I think it goes, I think she thought okay, this is in this specific in this particular situation, not their not Jack and what's her name again, Susan? Sarah. Sarah. Give me the S is wrong. Susan is mom. Thank you. Um marrying a person that's dedicated to their job, it goes to it's a it's a catch-22. You have to respect that their job is is an important job. On the flip side, when she also, when she first started talking, when he was her doctor, he was single. So expectation is when you marry somebody, the other person, both people have to make some sacrifices. So the expectation is, and I'm not talking about their marriage specifically, I'm talking about in general. I expect my spouse to still, I understand that their job is important, it takes a lot of hours and all that. Yes. The expectation is also you put in a hundred hours as a single person. Can you at least put in 90 as a married person?

SPEAKER_00

But that's a conversation that needs to be had.

SPEAKER_02

There's we don't know if they we don't know if the conversation was had or not. You know, we don't know. You don't, we don't know. And this is just a completely general generalization of it. You do expect the spouse opposed possibly to make sacrifices. That's all there is to it.

SPEAKER_00

I don't think that that was a conversation that that was had, and I could be wrong, but I'm I don't think so either based on her reaction where when at things that are said later. She doesn't argue when he says I'll work less. And I feel like if that was me, I would have been like, you know, you promised that already and it didn't work.

SPEAKER_02

I don't think that conversation was had either. I really I don't, and I think um I agree with you, and I think they I think there are certain jobs marriage wasn't you know how they say um relationships built on trauma or tragic experiences don't last, yeah, because it's not really based on you don't get that, you know, it's based on emotional emotions as opposed to a stronger foundation. So I think their their relationship is exactly a situation of this, you know. I think the relationship, no matter what they do, may have been doomed.

SPEAKER_00

But I think also there are certain jobs, you know, like even if they didn't meet in that same way, there are certain jobs that that take up a lot of time for the person who's doing them. Absolutely, okay, and a doctor, even a nurse, a firefighter, a cop, FBI, like things like that. But also, I think that not only is it because of the nature of the jobs and the and the work that it entails, but also I feel that those jobs come with a certain adrenaline rush that the people performing them have. Like, could you imagine what it must be like as a doctor when you do perform that saving surgery and you feel so good about it? Like, look, look what I saved your life, or firefighter who rescues a family from a burning building, and even if it's not for the accolades, like even if it's not because oh, he's put on the news and he's famous or whatever, but like, but how good it must feel for you to to to do exactly what it is that you got into that job to do, or or if a police officer who I don't know successfully stops a bank robbery or solves the case that nobody could solve. I don't know, just what kind of adrenaline rush it must come from, come with that gets you kind of addicted to doing the job. And even if you have a family at home and and whoever, there's still the rush of the job that you chose to do, and you keep going back to, and it's and especially if if that's the job that you were doing before you got married and had your family or whatever the case is, I feel like the family is almost always gonna be second because this is your career, this is your love, this is your life, this is what you wanted to do, and it's just you know, it's hard to then take a step back and to not I'm and I'm not saying it can't be done, I'm just saying that most people who go into careers like that are very dedicated to them, for better or for worse, and it's very hard to pull yourself back from them because it truly could be what you love, right? That's all I get it. So I just feel like this is who he is, and it's and try to give him the benefit of the doubt, like this is who Jack is. He is a doctor who loves to save people, and he's talented at what he does. He's a spinal surgeon, you know. He's if anybody could get this that tumor, was it spinal tumor? Right, it's him, you know, and and he's just so dedicated to his work that you've seen it even on the island when he's trying to save boon, he neglects himself, he just gets so caught up in saving and and fixing and being a doctor that everything else around him could be on fire, like that meme where it's like I'm good, everything's good, everything is on fire. That's Jack.

SPEAKER_02

So I I guess I don't think this is I think in their particular relationship, it's definitely I think I said one, it was doomed from the beginning because the basis of it. Two, I think they both had expectations and then communicate with the other. And I don't think there was much willing to sacrifice on both their parts. Like, does that make sense? I think there's a the they both had their own expectations and no sacrifice. They want they both wanted what they wanted, and I think it was only that way because it was a liter build on emotion. Um and it happens. I don't think this was if you look at it a bigger picture, it wasn't like neither one of them. I don't if you and I'll I know you might disagree with me, but I explained my reason before later. Neither one of them were malicious and evil and horrible people. It was I think a lot of the things that they did, they just went to a relationship, even though with the best intentions, right? Not exactly what it did, it wasn't thought out.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. After seven and a half hours of surgery, Jack loses his patient on the operating table. Christian blames the man's age and weakened heart, but Jack blames himself, frustrated at his inability to save him. Jack leaves the hospital and finds a distraught Gabriella in tears, waiting in the parking lot. In a moment of grief and weakness, they share a kiss. Jack pulls away and tells Gabriella that he can't. He returns home to Sarah and comes clean about the encounter. He vows that things will be different. He's going to put more effort into their marriage and he's going to fix it. But Sarah feels like Jack will always need something to fix. Well shit, now he's got it. He's got a marriage to fix. Sorry. Sarah tells Jack she's leaving him and she has been having an affair for some time. Jack lets her leave without much of a fight.

SPEAKER_02

Okay, so the Jack and Sarah situation. Um now the reason I feel like it's 35% his fault, he seems to be in awe over Gabrielle. Is it Gabriela? Gabriella's she feeds off of her need of him. He's the type of man, yeah, and I and I know this from experience. Um, he doesn't quite understand the difference between someone who wants you because they need you and needs you because they want you. And he seems to go with women who want him because they need him. Sarah, she was a surgeon, Gabriella, who's depending on him to save her father's life, and he seems to be he feeds off of that need.

SPEAKER_00

And there's also the level of emotional trauma that comes with both of them.

SPEAKER_02

Right. They need him because of the emotional trauma. Like it's whatever whatever reason they need him is that they ultimately they need him. And that's what he's I feel that's what he's really but now let me play devil's advocate.

SPEAKER_00

Okay, he he kissed Gabriella. Okay. I'm not I'm not saying that he was right. He he got caught up, he did it. He went home and told her and apologized and said, Look, like, I I guess maybe that was his wake-up call, where he has realized how far from the marriage that he wants that he actually is, you know, and says, Look, I'm gonna fix it. I'm sorry, and I'm gonna fix it, and I love you. And the basically this is where I wanna be, you know. And she tells him, Nope, I'm leaving you, and I'm already seeing someone. I think I get the impression that whoever she is has been seeing is probably somebody who has gone back longer than Jack has known Gabriella. So that to me is like a huge thing. I mean, and and then on top of it, for her to look so indignant, like when he tells her, like, oh my god, how dare you? How dare you kiss this woman and come home and confess? But by the way, I've been seeing somebody and I'm leaving you?

SPEAKER_02

Like, come on. I think it's a little bit more than that because between him meeting Gabriella didn't doing the surgery, they actually said it was a couple the the father was in there for a couple of months. So how many nights did he I thought it was a couple of weeks, not a couple of weeks. Maybe it was maybe it was a couple of weeks. I just um I don't remember, but I know it just it wasn't like overnight. It was sometime. So looking at this, how many nights did he how many like he has his hospital shifts, and how many nights did he stay longer to comfort Gabriella when he could have been home? You know what I mean? And then how many, not say Gabriella's per se, but how many patients between the beginning of the marriage to now did he decide to stay home, stay at the hospital and not go to his wife? Like this, I think, you know, how many like this patient was probably just the final, not the final straw, but obviously she's she's out, she's already had this in the works. But I have a feeling that he always chose to stay with his patients as opposed to coming home, so but I would also guess that this is the first one that has gotten to the point where they've kissed. Maybe, and I don't think it was the kiss per se that got her to a point. It's just like I'm never a priority.

SPEAKER_00

Well, no, because she had already just made up her mind.

SPEAKER_02

Right, that was all right, it was already it was already to say, but like when you start, and the reason I feel like it was on it was 35 his point, when you're a spouse and you feel like you are never the priority, there's a point where you're like, you know what, fuck you, fuck this, suck my ass, I'm out, yeah, emotionally or physically, and as you can see, she did she went off and had an affair because it's like if I am not a priority enough at all, and we don't know if there's conversations at all had, I don't know. Right, let's assume that there were some conversations had because I don't see you going through a marriage not saying something, right? Um, but I feel like like you said, his adrenaline, his passion for his job, outweigh his passion for his marriage, and a person can only take so much instead of just saying I want a divorce and then moving on, she decided to have an affair first.

SPEAKER_00

That's why I just had another um thought. And I'm not being facetious, I'm not trying to like whatever. But do you think that when she said about the pregnancy test she was like kind of goading him because she was like, Don't worry, it was negative, as if he should know that she's seeing someone else and that it could not be his?

SPEAKER_02

I think whatever the situation, I think it was definitely a petty moment, you know, when you're angry and disgusted, definitely a petty moment, but just maybe I don't know. No, but he thinks I think he looked generally shocked about the affair. I think looking back, maybe he was generally surprised, or maybe that was her way of still being passive aggressive, knowing that he didn't know. I don't know. I don't know.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, it just that whole thing was just like whatever. I mean it was bullshit.

SPEAKER_02

I just I think I I'm so disgusted with him because I've been in a position where I was I it was a situation ship or whatever. I don't know. Looking back, it was a situation anyway. I was never a priority at all. This person's life. I'm like, the fuck? And they also had this moderate complex where it was all about I don't think they understood. I refuse to be a person that wants you because I need you. I don't need anyone. Like my life doesn't depend on you loving me. Um, I need you because I want you. So I feel like I've been in um Sarah's position, so to speak, and I get that like never being a priority, never being one, like being number five, six, seven on the list. Like, the fuck, dude.

SPEAKER_00

So now I understand your all your animosity towards Jack because you've obviously dated him in the past.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, I yeah, I've dated Jack.

SPEAKER_00

Um it makes so much sense now.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, and then I think every woman has dated a Jack, whether it was serious or not, every woman has been with a person that they that they cared more about than they cared for them. Whether it lasted a week, less whether it lasted a year, whether what, everyone has been in that position. And you're like, um, does everyone would realize they've been in that position? I don't know. Yeah, but um you so yeah, you're like, man, dude, I think he's more in love with the I don't want to say he has a God complex.

SPEAKER_00

I don't I but there's something there.

SPEAKER_02

There's a god complex up there, he feeds off of whether he's whether he knows it consciously or not. Like, I don't think he's malicious, no, at all. I don't think he's a horrible person, but it's a person that wouldn't I can I'm like I don't like you. He feeds off of people revering him.

SPEAKER_00

And but don't all doctors absolutely, um absolutely, I think most people who who get into um like who become a doctor, and especially like you know, surgeons and have that complex about them.

SPEAKER_02

They absolutely they want to play God, and I and let's be honest, they have a set, they have a skill that needs to be revered on some level, absolutely. But when that reverence, that need for reverence outweighs a healthy relationship, that's when it becomes a problem. Like you can still have you can still be that phenomenal surgeon and have people revere you and get off of that, and you can still have a healthy relationship with people outside, you know, in your personal life. When do you become self-aware, or when do you either a become aware of that situation and make adjustments, or b are you that person that just doesn't give a fuck about people, or you're that narcissist that just prefers that those that reverence? And I don't think I don't think it's a narcissist in that sense. I just think um he's a little dense on that. So I kind of get and would I sit there and have an affair and then leave you? Maybe not, but at the same time, I I can understand her where she's like, yeah, I'm out and mostly yeah, I don't condone it, but I understand it.

SPEAKER_00

Right, but I I also can't blame her. That's why I said that that's not gonna be like that. Yeah, because like but the but I don't like the way she did it. That's my issue. Because she wasn't up front with him, she obviously had a problem with the relationship, and she never told him. And you know why? I don't think that for all his faults Jack intends to be a bad person. I think had she brought this up before and just simply told him, you know, he seems like the kind of person who you can talk to, and had she just said, Listen, we need to talk, I think he wouldn't have been like, you know, grumble, grumble, grumble, go away, like fuck you. Uh I think he would have tried to understand and tried to make it better because he obviously does care about her and their relationship. But it seems like, and we're making a lot of assumptions, but it seems like she didn't do that, and instead, she was being she felt neglected, she found attention with someone else, and then decided to leave him and was like, Oh, um, yeah, my mom was here for dinner. Uh, how'd the surgery go? Oh, you kissed her? By the way, I'm leaving.

SPEAKER_02

Like, I yeah, right. I but you know what? Based on remember the episode when when they first, you know, doing her surgery, and she seems to be kind of aware of his pain, and she told him, like, it's okay, whatever happens is okay. Like, she seems to I got the I get the impression that she would be the type to have that conversation only because while she's fucking paralyzed, she's still telling she understands his pain, she sees his pain. I see her as a person to have that conversation at one point. Like I don't you know, she seems to I don't know. I don't see her to be that of a dog not to have a conversation.

SPEAKER_00

I would assume that she didn't is because then at the end when she says I'm leaving you and maybe it's just something that she went she left unsaid, but I just feel like it would have been so easy to say that's what you said the last time, and it didn't work that time either, or you know, just something to allude to the fact that they've had the conversation about him working too much because he acknowledges that that's a problem.

SPEAKER_02

To play devil's advocate, what if that conversation you just said had been had already? And after after a while, like let's just say that they did have that conversation. You're like after what, like I'm not saying this again. It's no what if, like, you know, like you're like it comes to a point, not not just not this particular situation, but it comes to a point where you're like no conversation needs to be had, right? And I have to be on closure, like you're like, I'm done.

SPEAKER_00

I do remember like some of the other um storyline between him and Sarah. I can't I honestly don't remember everything. So some of some of it is gonna, you know, as we get there, I'm gonna be like, oh right. Because I but I don't remember all of it right. Like I remember some and some things that happen, you know, and some of the other flashbacks, but I just don't remember all of them.

SPEAKER_02

No, I and I was gonna ask you, do we get more details on that? But you read my head.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, I I definitely can remember one more for sure that has to do with them. But that's the only one that I can remember offhand. Um, let's keep going. On the island, Jack wakes up in the swan to find an unconscious Locke lying on the floor in the armory. Behind him, Michael shows up with a gun aiming at Jack. He tells Jack he is going on a journey after his son because it is his right as a father. Jack offers to join him, but Michael says he has to do it alone. He locks both Jack and Locke in the armory. Now, remember in the last episode when we was when I brought up like why does Michael say that he wants to he wants Locke to show him how to use a gun? I think you were saying like he's doing recognizance. I think he was trying to get the combination.

SPEAKER_02

Well, same difference, yeah. He was okay he was getting all his information, he was figuring out everything he needed to do and all the other stuff. And that's what just drawed the memory something I forgot to say last week. Um, how remember Jack was like, oh, but where's Hurley? So you remember Michael was walking with Hurley before he walked up to Kate, and you don't know what the conversation was. And then he then you hear Kate's conversation, oh I'll take over your shift. So now I'm like, oh, he told Hurley, oh, I'll take your shift. So Hurley's thinking, oh, it's gonna be Kate and Michael, and Mike Kate's thinking, oh, it's gonna be Hurley and Michael, because you don't hear his conversation with Hurley at all. And and then you like the Jack and then Jack was like, Oh, but where's Hurley? He's like, Oh, maybe he's just running late. So I'm like, Oh, because Locke has made it clear that they're two-person shifts, right? So he's not gonna catch that. Yeah, I was like, Oh, I forgot to say this, I forgot to say this last week. But he's set up to be alone. I was like, right, okay. That's another coincidence that he's typing, like, what are the odds? I told you by like just I know, I know, like this the all these coincidences make me I am a hundred percent sure that there's gonna be a complete I don't know if it's really a plot twist if you're expecting it.

SPEAKER_00

Is it you know so I also wanna say that like more or less after this episode, we're about halfway through season two. Okay. And you know the good stuff happens in that later half.

SPEAKER_02

Well, relatively good stuff, yes. And oh wait, I have a question to ask you. I know you you I meant to ask, and I know you're not gonna answer it, but I'm gonna ask it anyway. Is Desmond coming back? Oh, see that look tells me he is. Okay, but you don't want to say it.

SPEAKER_00

Remember, nobody's really gone.

SPEAKER_02

What you yeah, because if the fuck you're gonna go jump off the island and like he's still on the island. Desmond.

SPEAKER_00

He had a boat. He did? Yeah, remember that's how he got there. He was sailing. So maybe he took his boat and he's left. If that was the case, why didn't he just leave before?

SPEAKER_02

And say fuck the island.

SPEAKER_00

I don't know. Oh my hand of you know, it's funny, right? Because um I was when I was editing one of the episodes and um we were talking about the electricity, and you're like, but where did they get electricity from? And I'm like, duh, from the hamsters underground.

SPEAKER_02

No, it's the polar bears. And then using the polar bears they're using the methane for the polar bear shit to oh that's that's that's exactly it.

SPEAKER_00

Right.

SPEAKER_01

Anyway, that's an outlandish thought. But what do we play? All right.

SPEAKER_00

When we start when we start teasing the next episode, we'll get into more stuff. Okay.

SPEAKER_02

Polar bear methane? Okay, no, no, sorry.

SPEAKER_00

No. That's not till next season.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, okay.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, we learned all about the polar bears next season. Don't worry. When Locke finally wakes up, Jack tells him what what happened. Locke confesses and says he gave Michael a gun for shooting practice. Back at the beach, Kate wakes Sawyer so that Jack can change his bandages. They enter the spawn and discover Locke and Jack are locked up in the armory. Kate enters the numbers into the computer and pushes the button, and Sawyer opens the armory door, finding Jack and Locke collecting guns for their mission to try and stop Michael. Sawyer decides to join them, claiming that he needs his doctor around him.

SPEAKER_02

So this is the scene. Okay, so this is one scene where Michael completely goes off the rails, but I fully support his mission. Because it's like, does it make sense? No. Is it is he planned out exactly? No. But it's time to get his kid.

SPEAKER_00

Like, if one of us, if I it's a completely irrational, rational decision. Exactly. Like, exactly. But he's doing it for his kid.

SPEAKER_02

Right, because I'm sure if it was one of us, we would have like, I'm out.

SPEAKER_00

Like, I think he depends on which kid, but no, I'm just kidding.

SPEAKER_02

Uh, but I mean he did he did try to think like he did like he got the combination. He it was some thought process to it. It wasn't like gun, he he went target shooting and I think at and at and seriously, at this where they're considering their life right now on the island, what more could you have, what moral preparation could he have done? Like it's so it's not like so it's not he can go online and figure out like he did as much prep he could do, so that was a completely legitimate rampage. I approve of.

SPEAKER_00

I you I mean you can't fault him, like absolutely not. It it's probably not a great decision.

SPEAKER_02

But what else are you gonna do?

SPEAKER_00

Well, what else are you gonna do?

SPEAKER_02

Right, and then Sawyer, okay. Another one of the plethora of examples of where you know Sawyer's a fucking awesome dude. Because when he found out that you don't have to sell me, but go ahead. I know, right? And then when he finds out why Mike left, he's like, oh fuck. Like he's like, I'm joining in. There was like no hesitation. He's like, I'm in. Regardless of their bickering, he was like, Oh no, I'm fucked, I'm in.

SPEAKER_00

I was like, and then Jack is like you shouldn't go because you're hurt. He's like, Well, I guess it's good I'm traveling with my doctor, right? You can't say shit to Sawyer, like just stop because he's he's got one for you.

SPEAKER_01

I love that dude.

SPEAKER_00

Kate also wants to join, but Jack angrily refuses and orders her to stay behind to take care of the button. The hunting party leaves without Kate.

unknown

Ah!

SPEAKER_02

Another example at that moment, I was like, really? Hicko's petty Jack again. Like he's all in his feelings. Logically, okay. How many people Why do you think he said no? Oh, because he wants to keep so away from Kate. The fuck that like there are so many other people on the island that are capable of hitting the button, and Kate's skills are better set on this hunting party. And another reason I get mad at him later on this in this episode, I'll get to him and his pettiness. Like, dude, got your feelings. Just for one show, got your feelings for one episode. Um, it was she was a logical addition to that party because there was sh hi Terry. You know, I love you. Um, even though Locke has skills, it was proven last season's episode that her she has her skills are maybe a little bit better or look they're at least as good as his. Or as good.

SPEAKER_00

I think it was they have I mean, they have all but they each have a compatible skill set.

SPEAKER_02

Yes, I think he went in circles. Uh no, no, no, no. He wouldn't say he that was that was for a particular when they found the hatch.

SPEAKER_00

Right, but anyway, but she but he can trek, he can't track, and so can she. So I don't know if she could hunt board, but she could climb a tree.

SPEAKER_02

Three. I mean but she was a logical addition to that expedition. Oh, yeah. His reason was purely petty, and his reason for him to say, Oh, I need you to say the hatch. Dude, what the fuck? But yeah, but yeah, but yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. That's another reason of like you choose your personal issues over the good, the mission. Sayed Saeed never would have done that. Said wouldn't have done that. Neither would Sawyer.

SPEAKER_01

Neither would Sawyer also it would have good to be around her too, so it worked out good for it would have worked out good for Sawyer.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, no, but he wouldn't have he would have just let her do what she wanted. Right. That's that's his Saeed is calculated where he's gonna put Kate where he thinks Kate is best utilized. It's not gonna be about feelings. And Sawyer is like, the fuck I care. She could do whatever she wants.

SPEAKER_02

Like she's a grown-ass woman. Right.

SPEAKER_00

It don't matter to him. Uh okay. On the way across the island, Sawyer asks Jack why he did not let Kate join them. And Jack responds with the sarcastic remark, uh remark about going back to see if he hurt her feelings. Asshole.

SPEAKER_02

That's exactly what I said in my notes, asshole.

SPEAKER_00

Locke figures out that Michael is not going back to where the Tailys came from because he says um he talks about he's headed north or something. Right.

unknown

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Based on where they're oh, like where they were, what direction they came from and as to where they're actually going now. So I think this is when Locke was like, Michael knows something that we don't know, and then how the hell does he know this? And I love clicking it, it starts clicking.

SPEAKER_00

When when um Locke is asking Sawyer about if any of this looks familiar, and so he's like, Oh, yes, this is my favorite leaf. How can I forget? Well, a fucking jerk. I love it. Back at camp, Hurley tells Son and Jin that Michael took off, stole some gums, guns, and went all commando. Jin begins to pack, hoping to catch up with the hunting party, but son stops him. He tells her Michael is his friend, and Sun responds that she is his wife. She laid the law down.

SPEAKER_02

Now, this is another example of what I was talking about. Sometimes your wife, your spouse, let me rephrase it, your spouse has to take priority. There's times that you and I think she recognized I like you can appreciate where your heart is and what you want to do, but there's times where I gotta come first.

SPEAKER_00

Well, right, and and she went on to say, like, you know, when you were gone, like you went on the raft, and yes, like it was nothing but you know terrible for me. For me, right.

SPEAKER_02

And this did and I think this is right before this part, right before her came up to them, she was putting a hat on him. No, it's the and he was like, it's a fisherman's hat. And this is another example of him trying to subconsciously fight his past. Good catch. Uh you don't think I pay attention, do you? Haha.

SPEAKER_00

Back on the trek, Jack and Locke debate whether they have the right to tell anyone what they can or can't do. They also discuss what Jack will do once they catch up with Michael. The three of them climb a mountain in the jungle while Loc and Sawyer discuss the meaning of Sawyer's nickname. Locke says he knows his real name is James Ford and asks who he got his nickname from. Sawyer says, Who says I got it from anybody? Seven gunshots are heard in the distance. They run towards the sound. Locke finds a mark on a tree where a bullet grazed it, and they also find three of Michael's shell casings. Sawyer encourages them to keep going, and Jack asks them if he is out here for Michael or payback for getting shot. Sawyer asks Jack the same question, which he does not answer.

SPEAKER_02

So the scene where um Locke asks about his name, I feel like I'm like, wait, does Locke know the actual Sawyer? Like the way he's probing, I had to put it like it's not a question I just want I put this question in there for future reference. Like he's asking these probing questions like he knows the original, like the actual Sawyer. The original, you know, the real Sawyer. I'm like, hmm. And your non-commental response makes me wonder.

SPEAKER_00

I I didn't think that, but okay.

SPEAKER_02

So that it was just weird for him to ask, like, where'd you get the name from? And I mean, yes, he knows that's not his name, but the sorry that's okay. It's just the way he acts and the way he was probing makes me feel like he has some like he once again, he knows something. Mm-hmm. But I love the fact I still can't go back. I can't I I gotta go back to the way his mind works. He he starts clicking, like, what why is Michael going this direction? And I think I think he realized I I don't know why I think this way. Maybe I just think he's fucking fabulous. He realized that Michael's communicating with Walt. You think he realized that? I think that I think something something's clicking. Mm-hmm. Okay. I mean, because he's like, why is he going this is not the way he came from, so why is he going this way? We know he's gonna get his son, so logically, like, is he communicating with Walt? It's like if like the the truth table and math.

SPEAKER_00

At night, the three of them argue after Locke loses Michael's track. Their disagreement is interrupted by the familiar face in the middle of the jungle who apparently knows their names. Sawyer recognized him as the son of a bitch that shot me on the raft and tries to shoot him. But a bullet from the bushes grazes Sawyer's ear. Jack asks where Michael is, and the man responds that Michael is not going to find them and asks John to build them a fire. Oh my god, there's so much here. Okay.

SPEAKER_02

I know because I thought so, like, do I say in between? Do we go back to the end? Like, I have so much little things to say, so it's it was a good episode.

SPEAKER_00

Okay, so yeah, let's just go through it and then we'll do it all.

SPEAKER_02

Okay.

SPEAKER_00

Back at the Swan, Charlie and Hurley thumb through records and discover an old album by a band called Geronimo Jackson. They discuss whether Claire misses Charlie and whether Hurley has a chance pairing with Libby. Said shows up asking where Jack and Locke are. Hurley and Charlie update him and tell him about Michael's quest and that everyone went after him. Jack, Locke, Sawyer, and Kate. So at this point in the episode, though, where Kate is supposed to be in the hatch. Now we did see her talking to Hurley and blah blah blah. And I mean, chances are like she did exactly what you thought she did. Right. And so now you kind of get Confirmation that she's following them.

SPEAKER_03

Right.

SPEAKER_00

But we but she's not with them. Back in the jungle, the bearded man says Walt is fine, and he's a very special boy. He chastises them for walking into someone's kitchen, eating food that is not theirs, opening doors to rooms they have no business opening. Which kind of reminds you of the hatch. And then he also says, You take off your shoes and you walk into the kitchen and eat food that's not yours. Remember when Jack entered the hatch, he took off his shoes. Remember when you saw the shoes there?

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

And then, and obviously they've been eating the food. You know, they're opening doors, they're rooting around in there.

SPEAKER_02

So now, like it's funny when I said that when they first found the hatch, how they I mean, that was a little bit different because Desmond left, so he's like, Yeah, I'm done. So this is their kind of domain. But remember when I said, like, how the fuck are you gonna come into someone else's personal space and then have him at a gun point? They're really also Christopher Columbus shit. Like and I kind of like the others, good, bad, or indifferent, he ain't wrong. No, he's not wrong. No, so I mean, granted, these people are stranded, like they didn't, they didn't they would like they hit a pain cast, they didn't, they didn't just right, they didn't set out to like right, but but yeah, I see some real like I'm taking over this shit.

SPEAKER_01

Like, I just I was a little offended that he had the nerve to put a gun on Desmond or whoever, and you just broke you broke into this dude's hatch. Literally, you you explode and broke into this dude's hatch. But yeah.

SPEAKER_00

So he also quotes somebody a whole lot smarter than anyone else here saying, From the dawn of our species, man's been blessed with curiosity. And then he says, You know the other one about curiosity, right? Um, which curiosity killed the cat or Kate.

SPEAKER_02

Now with Kate, I haven't.

SPEAKER_00

I'm just saying curiosity killed the cat, curiosity killed the Kate.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, well, yeah. Jack says he doesn't believe it. Satisfaction brought it back.

SPEAKER_00

Jack says he doesn't believe him and points out that Ethan was sent as a spy and that Locke, Sawyer, and himself outnumber the others. The man says that's an interesting theory, and shouts, light him up. A ring of torches light up around them, and the hunting party members realize they are surrounded.

SPEAKER_02

That was a badass moment. I was like, Yeah, light him up, and I total badass. And every time I hear this man talk, I still think about Jamar and his he was talking about his favorite scene from season one.

SPEAKER_01

Give me the boy, and the way he says it, like Jamar's impersonation of it is thank you. It's fucking awesome. So I I can't listen to this character without thinking of Jamar. Hi, Jamar. How's it going?

SPEAKER_00

The bearded man warns the three of them that right here there is a line. Gee, where have we heard that before?

SPEAKER_02

I can't remember. I know I've heard it. It's in the back of my memory.

SPEAKER_00

In the beginning of the episode with Jack's father. Oh, that was the same episode? Yeah. I feel so much happens. Yes, a lot happens in this episode. He said there is a line and they are not allowed to cross it. If they do, they would go from misunderstanding to something else. He also says that the island is theirs and the survivors still live on it because they let them live on it. He calls another named Alex to bring her out, and headbagged and gagged, Kate comes out with her hands tied tightly behind her back and her bare feet tied tightly together. Jack is enraged, and for a few seconds it seems he'd rather allow Kate to be murdered rather than hand over the guns. But he relents and Kate is allowed to go free. The others disappear and the four castaways return to camp. On the trek home, Jack is still angry that Kate disobeyed his orders. She tries to apologize, but he shuts her down and gives her the cold shoulder. Sawyer offers Yeah. Sawyer offers a few encouraging words as the group leaves her at her tent. On the beach, Jack turns to Ana Lucia and says, He heard she was a cop and that she killed two of them. When she confirms, Jack asks how long it would take to build an army.

SPEAKER_02

Okay, so I said this is the beginning of season one. Like there needs to be organ, they need to have some kind of, I don't want to say malicious, there needs to be something to protect the group. They they started having issues with shit at the very beginning. So why this wasn't organized before on some small level, I don't understand. But I told Jack to do that before. Okay. It wasn't her fault. Because even if she didn't follow, the others had the upper hand regardless. Whether they had Kate or not, they still were going to lose their fucking weapons. Period. So don't blame Kate. I think he was mad at Kate because I don't think he wants to admit that they were ill-prepared. Um the others listen. I think that was his really I think that's why he was really upset and he took it out on Kate. Because if he wasn't that upset about that, he never would have asked to organize an army. Because he realized he was ill-prepared, he realized they're missing something. But um, yeah, don't take it out on Kate, bitch baby. Okay, so it's funny. I don't know if you notice this, or maybe just me being stupid. Whenever they say everyone, hey, where's everyone at? Hey, where's everyone at? They're always referring to the main characters, not just the survivor. That's the that's the the main, not all the survivors, but they're never referring to Rose. They're never referring to, like, you know what I mean? They're never referring to these other ones, they're referring to the main characters.

SPEAKER_00

They're not even referring to like Char Charlie and Claire, they're referring to like yeah, so it's funny, the main main characters.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, so it's like, um, where's everyone at? Now, but it's yeah, I don't know if yeah, that was that. Um, that scene when son, when he's told when he when Jen told son that, hey, I don't I didn't appreciate the way you told me what you told me to do. I didn't appreciate being told what to do. She goes, Well, I live my last four years that way. Um, suck it up, cupcake. I was like, Yeah, tell him, girl. Like, it I think she's I said this, I think the the first season, like she's really coming to her own here. Because you don't have a culture or people to you have to adhere to or rules you have to social. It's just them. It's just them, and like this is this is the per this is who I am, and this is what I need from you. That's all that matters. Period. Yeah. Now, regardless of whatever it was, whether it was I need in this case, she needs to be respected by him and treated as an equal. Now, what uh you know, everyone needs something different, but this is gives people an opportunity to just strip up all social constructs and like be honest with themselves and the people around them, if they choose to be. Oh, Zeke, the beared guy's name is Zeke. So why do they keep calling him the bearded guy? Name is Zeke.

SPEAKER_00

Well, that's what Sawyer called him. Uh. But like we I mean, we don't know if that's his name. Because it's not like he introduced himself and says, Hi, I'm Zeke.

SPEAKER_02

Give me the boy. Well, we're calling him Zeke. I like Zeke. Zeke fits okay. Zeke fits it. Um, dumb um, and then another thing, another reason why I was like, listen, don't be pissed at the situation you got yourself in because Locke told your dumbass to go back. Locke told you guys we're not ready for this.

SPEAKER_00

Yes. Let's do trivia and then we'll get more into themes, like overall. Okay. So Zeke says, in reference to the island, as we just went over, tell me, you go over a man's house for the first time. Do you take off your shoes? And as we said, Locke did, but Jack didn't. So I guess in that respect, it's Jack who showed a lack of respect. And Locke is the one who is like the more respectful one because Jack also came in guns blazing, and Locke didn't, like you said. So this one is a little strange to me because I didn't really know this, but so when he says somebody a whole lot smarter than anyone else here said, since the dawn of our species, man has been blessed with curiosity. This is the first half of a quote from Alvar Hansel in his 1967 address to the United States, to the United Nations Security Council, as shown on the Hansel Foundation website, and it gives the website address. But I didn't I thought that was just something for the show. So I'm not really sure.

SPEAKER_02

I'm not really um surprised because a lot of the things like even I didn't know either, but a lot of the things that they refer to, um quotes, sayings, even the character's name John Locke. Well there's a lot of things that is in real life, you know, it's this actual Well, so is Desmond.

SPEAKER_00

Desmond's name is Desmond David Hume. Yes, David Hume.

SPEAKER_02

So I'm not surprised that the quote was an actual because think about why wouldn't it be? Because this this it's this is real life. So you know what I'm you know, quote unquote, like they were still from civilization, they still have this, they still have the same quote unquote history, and you know, they know World War II and all you know what I mean? Does that make sense? Like, yeah, so yeah, that's true.

SPEAKER_00

Okay, and then um, okay, I'll give you like it's it's not anything like spectacular, but it's something that I might not have read otherwise, but I'll give it to you because it's it's this season. The events of this episode are revisited from Michael's perspective in a later episode this season, but I'm not gonna tell you which one.

SPEAKER_02

I can't wait. Because you know, because with the gunshots and you don't see it, but they know there's like, oh, there's more to it. Like there has to be something, you know. His yeah, like that's coming. Like they can't not tell you what happened.

SPEAKER_00

Okay, so Hurley finds the record from Geronimo Jackson, and the producers claim that it is indeed a very real, very obscure band from the 70s. I had never heard of them.

SPEAKER_02

I feel like I heard I felt like the name, like I I don't know where, but you know how sometimes you have some a memory or something, like the name sounded familiar.

SPEAKER_00

Could I tell you where her name was familiar, but but I don't feel like I I knew like I could knew that that was a band or anything. Yeah, nothing.

SPEAKER_02

I couldn't tell you that either, but I know that the same was familiar in itself.

SPEAKER_00

Okay, um, and Matthew Fox and Julie Bowen, who played Jack and Sarah, had worked together in the 11th episode of a different show second season, and this is the 11th episode of this second season. Yeah, that's it in um party of five episode Unfair Advantage, she played a waitress who rejected his advances. So that's funny when Zeke refers to Walt as a very special boy. That was the name of Walt's episode special.

SPEAKER_02

Right.

SPEAKER_00

How does it be?

SPEAKER_02

He's been referred as special.

SPEAKER_00

I know, but how would he know?

SPEAKER_02

Because of the others, they know everything. I don't freaking know. Maybe these have a maybe they don't think Walt, maybe I I don't know if they think Walt's special per se. I think the fact that he's a child, maybe they him being a child.

SPEAKER_00

There's another child, there's Aaron.

SPEAKER_02

And they try to kidnap Claire while she was still pregnant because they wanted the baby. They still and then they kidnap the kid. So I I when they kidnap Claire, I don't think about Claire per se. I think they want the baby. So I think it's I think for them children are special.

SPEAKER_00

Okay. So the hunting parties, I mean, obviously, like kind of self-explanatory. Michael is hunting the others for Walt, they're hunting Michael. I mean, and apparently they're also being hunted by the others.

SPEAKER_02

One big circle of hunting.

SPEAKER_00

It's a hunty threesome. Yeah. And they know their names, and they know that Locke is the probably the great the best one to build a fire. So they clearly know things about them. Like they talk about opening doors, they got no business opening, they know about the hatch, they they know what they've been up to. So you get the impression that just because you haven't seen them, like, look, oh shit, here they are, here these others are, they exist and they know, but they're not. I mean, aside from the one, the only one that you see, really, you only really see him. But look, here they are on this island, and they're real, they're very real.

SPEAKER_02

Well, we knew they were real when they they what was the guy's name, Ethan? Mm-hmm. Like they're they're organized. They're obviously there I don't know. So there's so much I can't wait to find out more about them. Uh the others. Um, one of them has um military ad skills. The knife. Oh, okay. So they do one of them, at least somebody has some kind of military skills or knowledge. I don't know how rudimentary it could be, but whatever the case maybe, there's something there. They put I mean they were they put uh whatchamacallit, they put um, what's it I'm looking for? Sentry? They put they put spies in both groups instantly. Like they're like boom. Um, I mean, of course you see a plane crash, you know, like um, so they're obviously um prepared for ever anything and everything. I told Jack to get his shit together the first episode of the first season, but no, he won't listen to me. Um so um I think this is one of the situations where one has to ask themselves when you're watching TV, are the bad guys really the bad guys? Um back to the yin and yang. Um and now you're like, well, well, maybe they're not. Maybe they're not bad, bad, you know, whatever. And maybe the quote unquote survivors, maybe the survivors aren't exactly as innocent. Like, you I mean, they were in a position to be innocent, they were they were innocently put in this position. But maybe their reactions afterwards, I don't know. But uh let's be fair. Who would have thought there'd be other people on this island? Like let's go see if there's anyone else on this island, is asking if they can help, like, right now, no, who would have thought?

SPEAKER_00

So we have the similarities in the episode on Island and in the flashbacks about somebody telling somebody in a position of authority telling Jack that there's a line and not to cross it. And obviously, in his flashback, he crossed the line. And he crossed a couple of lines, he didn't cross the line on the island, per se. But but he went back and said, We're gonna get an army, so you know that he plans to cross it.

SPEAKER_02

I think as far as I'm gonna call him Zeke, as soon as far as he concerned, his hubris was crossing the line. Like, you know, intentional or not, his his you know and and they took their guns.

SPEAKER_00

Finally, somebody took guns away from these people, like in general. You know how everybody's always complaining, they gotta take take our guns. Oh, and nobody ever comes to take your guns. Um, somebody finally came and took your guns. Sorry. All right, one one more thing, and then I think I'm done. On the island, Jack is like, we have to go after Michael, and Locke is like, Well, what are you gonna do? And I'm gonna make him come back. But what if he doesn't want to? Right. Well, I'm gonna make him and off the island you have Jack being left by Sarah, and and he's not going after her, but I feel like this is like a theme that resonates because clearly that's not what he wants, because he wants her to he want he's like, Well, fix this, I'm sorry, blah blah blah. And so I feel like this is a theme that Jack is like a dog with a bone, he just doesn't let things go. And then you have Locke as the voice of reason. Like, what are you gonna do if they don't want to? You can't make people do what you want, and it's kind of like, yeah, and look, watch Sarah walk out the door, and you can't do a damn thing about it.

SPEAKER_02

Maybe that's another reason Jack was so adamant about going after because he feels like he has a great thing, something he can't control um, yeah. I think this it's this this island, it just drives me nuts. The the the process the the the the point of the island drives me crazy. I feel like they have so much to learn about themselves. And I feel like the funny thing is, I feel like they each have to learn about they have a lot to learn about themselves and interpersonal relationships at the same token. I feel like some of them, like Locke, not because he's my favorite character, but my favorite actor, but I feel like he gets things. Like, what is I what is it that he has to learn? Like the like and I think he like he recognizes his flaws. He rec like I think it's like everyone has to recognize something about themselves. Like, what is it about Locke or what is it about Locke is very open to what Island has to tell him, and that's why right, just like everyone else has that. Who else who else is like Locke? Who else is open to Echo? Echo, thank you. Duh, we just talked about this last the last episode. I feel like some of the characters, I have a feeling they're gonna be gone sooner rather than later.

SPEAKER_00

Interesting.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, I feel like I like I remember like I just I see a lot of connections between like the the smoke monster and when Boone died, he had finally turned into a person like not as narcissistic and not so Shannon. And Shannon, like I think once they reach a certain Nirvana in their soul, like once they reach a certain point that they they die back to the island. My my my my season one prediction fucking islands purgatory. I need Locke to stay on to the duration of the series. Okay, I'll call the writers right now. Thank you. It's like he's like a guiding, he's like a guiding angel, like not angel per se, but he's like a guiding spirit. It's just weird. I know. All right. So that's why they that's why he's still there. He's like a guiding spirit or a guiding, you know. And yeah, I'm going to bed now. I think I've I think I've reached my limit. Overall, what are your thoughts on this episode? All right, I hate to tell you this, but I kind of like this episode. It was it was it was interesting without my pet peeve what TV shows where they have like way too many twists and turns or too many things, storyline going on, drives me up the wall. This was an it kept me interested. It had different things going on. Like I forgot that the whole thing with his father was the same episode because a lot happened, right? But it was still a good episode. It's so I I like this episode.

SPEAKER_00

And we got and we got a peek, a little bit more of a peek at the others.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, and how organized. He's like, light them up. I was like, oh shit, like they are, yeah, that's kind of DMS. So that's just another I think that moment, Jack was like, I done fucked up. I done fucked up big time. Because I underestimated the people. Uh-huh. And they called you a bluff. Yeah. And he took it out on Kate. Listen, Kate or not Kate, we both know. They already had him surrounded. They weren't, yeah. So she was she was just a cherry on top. Because they knew that that's his weakness. Right. They did their homework. They did their recognition. And they're like, oh, you know, like either we can use her to end this peacefully ish. Or either way, we're taking their shit. If they gotta die, they gotta die.

SPEAKER_00

We know anything else before we wrap it up?

SPEAKER_02

Nope. This this burrito, this episode.

SPEAKER_00

Okay.

SPEAKER_02

Burrito, get it? Okay.

SPEAKER_00

I got it.

SPEAKER_01

I'm hungry.

SPEAKER_00

Me too. Stay tuned next week for our next episode. Well, next week or next episode, whichever comes first. And the next episode is gonna be fire plus water. And it's a Charlie episode.

SPEAKER_02

Interesting. So you know what I'm gonna ask you. What do I think? Okay, what happened with the last Charlie flashback? What was that about? Refresh my memory. It was about um was it it was about his brother, was it? It was that long ago. I don't I think the last Charlie episode was last season.

SPEAKER_00

No, yeah, the last Charlie episode was the one I think when he gets the printer job. And then he throws up in the printer or the copy or whatever it is. That did yeah, that was wow, that's a long time.

SPEAKER_02

I feel like that's the last one. I don't so we know about the printer job, we know how we know why he was in Australia. He was asking his brother to go back on tour. Um, so yeah, I don't know. I don't remember enough about Charlie to ask any qu to want to know. You know what I mean? I can't remember anything. Like, what are my thoughts about Charlie's episode? What is it gonna be about? I have no idea because I can't remember any I can't remember any points. Yeah. Oh my god. Oh my god. He he's one of the characters where the flashbacks kind of answer any questions I have, but if they do have a flashback, I'm like, oh, that's interesting. Like none of him, like he's a character that does not, he's not like a K character or a law character or a Jack character where you're like, oh my god, why is this? Like he's pretty self-explanatory, so I can't think of anything um expecting from him. What the hell? All right, okay. Sorry, Charlie. It's okay.

SPEAKER_00

All right, and then after that episode, we'll be halfway through the second season officially.

SPEAKER_02

Interesting.

SPEAKER_00

So, how do you feel about the second season?

SPEAKER_02

I I've enjoyed the episodes individually, but I'm still kind of the the series as a whole though, has too many points that gets on my nerves for me to enjoy the series. Like I'll never be at oh my god, you gotta watch this this show. It's fucking off. I'll never be at that point. I so it's just yeah. But I'm enjoying this each episode more than I did the first season. Okay.

SPEAKER_00

For me, okay, like I have, you know, like I have my paper where I have like all the season two episodes written down. When I look at this and I think, okay, so the season two episodes are all pretty good, they're all you know, hot, like if I had a rank them all like one to ten, they'd all be like over five. However, I think that they're all good in their own way. The next episode, not one of my favorites, but that's a personal thing for me. But I also look at the later half of the season and I think, ooh, you like some of those episodes are like really good, but I don't want to tell you which ones because I don't want you to have the expectation or or be disappointed. You know, I want you to get a feel for them yourself and not have my bias going in. Fine, leave me hanging. I'll go in.

SPEAKER_02

Fine, you're you are you're you're a lost tease. Yeah, you're like, yeah, yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Yep. So that'll do it. So stay tuned next time, like I said, for fire plus water. And until then, remember to always drink responsibly, and we appreciate your help in supporting this show.
