LOST The Whole Truth
"Of course, if I was one of them, these people that you just assume are your enemies, what would I do? There would be no balloon so I would draw them out to a really secluded place, like a cave or some underbrush, a good place for a trap... an ambush. And when your friends got there a bunch of my people would be waiting for them. Then they would use them to trade for me. I guess it's a good thing I'm not one of them, huh? You guys got any milk?" - Henry Gale

Hi and welcome to this episode of Sassin Sips. Where every week we will be discussing and dissecting an episode of Lost in Order. And today's episode is the whole truth.
SPEAKER_03But the truth. I'm sorry, I couldn't help it.
SPEAKER_00We are your hosts. I'm Lisa.
SPEAKER_03And I'm Agnes.
SPEAKER_00And welcome. What are you drinking?
SPEAKER_03I'm having my special coffee.
SPEAKER_00I'm having vodka and soda.
SPEAKER_03Awesome. I approve that message.
SPEAKER_00My bubbly.
SPEAKER_03I like it. I like it lots. And I like the mason jaw.
SPEAKER_00You love this cup.
SPEAKER_03I love mason jaws.
SPEAKER_00It's from Joe's Crab Shack.
SPEAKER_03I gotta say, this is like which episode are we on? Like in our whole podcast history. And we have been um we've got our names right. How many times straight? I'm proud of us.
SPEAKER_00Oh yeah. Yeah. We've been remembering. We know our name. Hashtag I've been remembering.
SPEAKER_03So this is a pretty gosh good episode. I was kind of like, oh, so okay, so the arrow, because you haven't been asking me lately, the arrow is probably like at like 110, 115. Oh shit, look at us. Ah, sick and sucky now. But I have a feeling it's looking really weird.
SPEAKER_00I have a feeling you're right.
SPEAKER_03So which piece it probably is. Okay, got it.
SPEAKER_00Anything that you want to talk about the episode before we dive in?
SPEAKER_03Before we dive in. Okay, okay. I was like, oh yes! Okay.
SPEAKER_00Um just overall, like about Sun or the episode in general.
SPEAKER_03Um, well, I think the other episode where you know we know something happened with Sun and pregnancy and children.
SPEAKER_00That was the previous. That was my Trinity League. Was it just the one before this?
SPEAKER_03I feel like it was like six months ago.
SPEAKER_00Um so you well, in fairness, we did record it a week ago.
SPEAKER_03But nope, it was it a week ago?
SPEAKER_00Yes. Yeah, it was it was a week ago because I went away for the weekend. Okay, so we had to record, yeah.
SPEAKER_04Thank you for being recorded.
SPEAKER_00It's been a whole week, which is like months in quarantine time.
SPEAKER_03Right. Um, so even if we didn't discuss, like, hey, the next episode is about XYZ, you kind of knew that it was about you knew it's gonna be about sun. It was kind of a little foreshadowing. Um, which lost us really, really well if you pay attention. The really like, uh oh, you know what's gonna happen next. Like, you don't know what's gonna happen next, you know what's gonna look go to. It's just a matter of like, where is it gonna go to, you know.
SPEAKER_00But um I really like the excited side of you.
SPEAKER_03Well, you know, it happens. Um, so I don't think I had um much going into it. I kind of like I was like, okay, it's gonna be about Sun. What are we gonna see? What's going on? Because Sun is one of those characters where I don't want to say it's straight to the point, but her character, her thing, like there's twists and turns, but it's not so much like oh shit. Like with I find with Locke or Kate, their lives, oh even Sawyer, their lives were so, for lack of a better word, exciting. Like it could have been anything, like, oh shit, what's gonna happen? And Sun and Jen and some of the other characters are quote unquote normal, everyday people with normal twists and turns. Does that make any kind of sense? Yeah. So you know, so so her was like, okay, let's let's write this. This is like the the cool the the calm part of the roller coaster. So like, okay, let's see. Like so, I was excited to see what was gonna happen, but I didn't know, I didn't have any expectations other than it has to do with children of some sort.
SPEAKER_00In flashback, with pressure from son's father, Jin desperately wishes to conceive a child in the hopes that the baby will change everything in his life. Ain't that the truth?
SPEAKER_03It does, but that's what you think it does, but famous last words, and I feel sometimes it's unfair, and a lot of people do it. I just like we have a conversation regarding my situation. It is so unfair to put that kind of pressure on an unborn child or a child in general to fix your life or to fix like it doesn't work that way, and I feel like sometimes resentment towards being a parent, or sometimes, because sometimes kids used to want to be like ah, but um I'm talking about like the exceptions, the extremes, the resentment towards motherhood, fatherhood, children is stems in the fact that you expected this child to fix your problems, and I think it's so unfair. I feel like sometimes not having a child, not bringing a child into the world by choice is probably the most selfless thing a person can do. Did I say that right?
SPEAKER_00I think so.
SPEAKER_03And it wasn't offensive, because I added like I mean, like by choice saying I don't want to be a Yeah, I don't I mean I don't think it was offensive, but I don't know.
SPEAKER_00I don't I try not to offend see if the angry email comes in. Hey, that's my opinion. Cause got because you know, you have an opinion, so somebody might not.
SPEAKER_03God forbid. And then you know what? It's so funny, like off topic, I'm sorry, but there's opinions that that you can agree to disagree on, and there's opinions that you just cannot agree to disagree on. But that's another that's another that's another podcast.
SPEAKER_00Later, Sun takes English lessons from Jay Lee, her former love interest who left her foreign American woman, who eventually left him. Since they haven't had any luck conceiving, Jin suggests that they visit a fertility specialist. The specialist tells them tells them that Sun has endometriosis and that their chances of conceiving are impossible. News that clearly upsets Jin more than Sun. Sun confesses to J Lee that she feels relieved about not being able to conceive and that she is going to leave Jin for America.
SPEAKER_03Okay, so I think uh usually the synopsis are really good, but I feel like this particular episode there was so much more. We have a lot to discuss with a flashback. Yeah, I think yeah. And do it justice, that's what I'm trying to say.
SPEAKER_00While walking the while walking outside with her dog, the fertility specialist drives up to confront her with the truth. She is not the reason that she and Jin cannot conceive. He is. The doctor is frightened of Jin due to his employment with her father, and Jin is apparently infertile. She decides to keep it a secret. On the island. In her garden. Okay.
SPEAKER_03Are we gonna talk about the flashback now? Sure. Okay, do you you don't mind, do you? Of course not. I feel like I feel like this synopsis is doing the flashback justice. There was so much that happened, and it was so a lot of undertones and a lot of um, so the beginning of the flashback was them talking about the pregnancy. Okay, what else happened, that flashback? I feel like I my brain is not working today more than usual.
SPEAKER_00Um well, I like when they're sitting in in the doctor's office.
SPEAKER_03Yes, and that's the point. I was like, oh, you tell him.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. And she's and and he accuses her of like knowing about it and fighting it, and she's like, Yeah, you caught me.
SPEAKER_03I was trying to trap the son of a fisherman, like every so often, every so often you see her, like her. I don't mean this in a bad way, but her princess status. Because this you know, this the the donate law wife, and I get that, and I respect that, but every so often she needs to I see she she has to put him in his place. She's just smacking that back down to earth with her quote unquote princess status.
SPEAKER_00Because he needs it sometimes, like she's fed up, like you're losing her of some dumb shit, and for what reason?
SPEAKER_03And by this point, she's already had it up to here with his and I get like on his side, he's he's stressed, he's frustrated, he's he's living the life he didn't explain like this. Is not and I get his point on her side, she's like, yo, hold the fuck up, you're not the man I married. Right. Even when she was still doting loyal, it would come out in little bits, like slow your rojo.
SPEAKER_00And she obviously chose to be with him out of love. Absolutely. So for him to even say something like that is probably like a slap in the face to her.
SPEAKER_03I see his his insecurities about what his beginnings were and his standing with her father comes out, I see it so many different ways. Like with this scene and the scenes in the past I can't think of at the moment. And then later on and on the island scenes, like his insecurities are he takes it out on her, and it's funny how she's like, uh not the fuck happening. Calm that shit down, tone that puppy down, bring it back down to one. Um I kind of wanted her to okay. What was the husband? What was the the hotel guy's name? Jay Lee. Jay? Jay Lynn? Jay L. Jay Lee. Jay Lee. Oh, these fucking names confuse me. I kind of wanted her to end up with him because yeah, because when they first started talking to each other, I get where he was coming from. He thought they both were on the same page, like, I'm doing this to calm my mother down. Like, you know, and because he was talking to her and he found that she was kind of she wasn't the typical girl that gets matched. She went to college, she had plants, she, you know. So I think he assumed, okay, we're just doing this to calm my mother's down. So I don't think he really meant to hurt her. Like, I don't think it was malicious, and we talked about this before. Right. And he was a really nice guy. Something about him was just humbled, and even the scene where he's like, it's kind of good to be a son of the older. Like, he's he makes a joke of it, and he's in this humility there, but he's also acknowledging, listen, I have privilege, but I'm not privileged. You know what I mean? You know that I'm not, I'm not above it. So I really think granted, if she would have if they would have ended up together, she wouldn't be in the in the show at all.
unknownBut true.
SPEAKER_03I mean, yeah. And it when the doctor pulls up, okay, my first thing was like, okay, that's fucking creepy as fuck. Like, get in the car. Like, nope, I saw this movie. But I've seen this, it doesn't end well. Um wasn't surprised though, but what by his um well do you why do you think he even told her?
SPEAKER_00Like, what was like just to clear his conscience?
SPEAKER_03Like I think ultimate I think ultimately, like he's a I think he takes his his role as a doctor seriously like like his she was his patient.
SPEAKER_00I know, but then again, it's like obviously so is Jin then, because he examined Jin enough to know he's sterile, but it's like if you're so worried about that, why even say it out loud? Why say what out loud? Which part that it's Jin. Like, you understand? Like, why not just take the secret to your grave? I don't like that's the part that I'm like, that's stupid.
SPEAKER_03No, I think because his his I honestly because he has this fear of this man, but like, because we see what he can do. Like he has like fucking like government people in his pockets. So the guy had a legitimate fear of her father. At the same time, and again, I think we forget there are there are people that go into becoming doctors to do good for the best interest of their patients. And I think finally what he was supposed to do as a man, as a doctor, overruled his fear. I think what he did what was right over what he was afraid. And I think those are two very strong emotions. Like, my God, am I gonna fucking die? Because I told this man he can't have children and it's his fault. And like he like, so I see why he did it. I understand why he did it. I think it took a lot for him to do it, especially since he like he didn't call her to the office, he kind of followed her, like he had come, like he's still afraid, but you know, I think it takes a brave person to do what's right, regardless of what the repercussions to you are. And I I kind of felt back with a little man.
SPEAKER_00When when she was in the hotel at the end with Jay Lee, and then um, like she was telling him that she was planning to leave Jin. And he's like, basically that she's been fluent for a month.
SPEAKER_01Right.
SPEAKER_00So why is she still there? It it was just like it was like kind of leading you like like if he was actually gonna be like, oh, leave him for me. But then like it didn't happen.
SPEAKER_03I think okay, this is where this is what I think happened. So scene when she first goes into the hotel room, you're like, okay, it looks like she's cheating, but we know this is law, so maybe she's not cheating. And then you're like, oh, I wondered where she had learned English from. Like that thought, like, how does she learn English? Obviously, she can trust him. Right. So I'm like, okay, this makes sense. Now, when she let's go back a couple of go back a season where she's planned to leave him at America and she had her friends, uh, they had a whole plan and worked out. Maybe they left this scene like the way it was because she had planned on, like, maybe she's going to America to be with him. You know, she was going to America, but you don't know what her plan was once she got there. Maybe they left the scene the way it was because and I know you've seen that, I know you see the series. You're probably like, that's not it, or she that's it. I know you probably know, but interesting. Yeah, I was waiting for that. I think the plan was to go with him to meet on.
SPEAKER_00I don't think that that's a bed.
SPEAKER_03That's not the right answer though. Okay.
SPEAKER_00No, I didn't I didn't say that. I didn't say it was right, but I didn't say it was wrong. I'm just saying, like, I don't think that that's a bed to connect.
SPEAKER_03Maybe they also wanted to connect. I mean, it doesn't make a difference because you know that she didn't end up there anyway. But um, I think that's it for the flashback. Yeah, I think so. On the island. I'm a little upset that they no longer stay in the jungle. I can't have my little sing along.
SPEAKER_00In her garden, Sun works until she hears rustling from the bushes. She jumps up, scared, but Jin comes out. He tells her they want they are going back to camp, especially because she was attacked by the others and he does not want her to get hurt again. He ruins her garden, saying that now she has no reason to come and work there. So there goes Jin the jerk again.
SPEAKER_03Dude, dude, I get that that situation was like you were scared. And like, like when parents lose their kids for like 10 seconds, anger, like our fear crazy.
SPEAKER_00Like you simultaneously want to like hug them and beat the shit out of them.
SPEAKER_03Exactly. So I totally get his emotions, but at the same time you do get jacked up, like that's but I would have to beat you down and beat you to the white meat because what the you done lost your mind. So he totally got that side eye while I was watching the TV. I'm like, ew.
SPEAKER_00Anna Lucia is jogging on the beach towards her shelter. Outside of her tent, she finds Locke eating a banana, telling her that there was a man sitting in his hatch. Did you catch that? Yes. I'm like in my hatch.
SPEAKER_03I'm like that's right. Yeah, I caught that. Because it is his hatch. Like is it though? He as far as the survivors, the people in the group is concerned, like within the group of people, it is. Okay. As far as the bigger picture, no, but like he's he found the door, he he tried, he dug it up, he took, like, you know. Hi, Terry.
SPEAKER_00He may be one of the others, and Locke wants him out. He says she is the best option because of her experience with the others and her career as a cop. I disagree. Just want to put that on record. Do you still like hate her?
SPEAKER_03Hate her?
SPEAKER_00Is it like with her? Actually, she doesn't bother me as much in this episode, and and going forward, she doesn't bother me as much as like the first few. However, why would she be the best person? She's trigger happy, she overreacts, and you have fucking Said.
SPEAKER_03Okay, so because from Locke's position position, Saeed went crazy on the guy. And they get an animation on him. And Locke, I don't think does Locke doesn't know about what happened with Locke doesn't know that she went that she shot that she was trigger happy.
SPEAKER_00I'm sure he does. Jack told him.
SPEAKER_03I think he must have.
SPEAKER_00I feel like that's probably common knowledge because um because Charlie knew.
SPEAKER_03He did? Okay, maybe he did.
SPEAKER_00I don't remember if I we so we watched two the two episodes. I don't remember if it was this one or the next one. When Charlie Charlie makes a comment to her.
SPEAKER_03Right, but when did he find out okay, but okay, the one yeah, yeah. And also I think she's the best one for him. I think it was more like I took it as he said that she's the best option for his purposes. Well, you know what I mean? Yeah, so that's why he says she's the best option. Hi Terry.
SPEAKER_00When Anna asks if Jack knows about this, Locke says that he doesn't need Jack's permission to talk to her. Meanwhile, as Rose and Bernard walk across the beach, they argue about Bernard forgetting Rose's birthday. That was so cute. Like they're cute together. Her birthday is November 20th. So it's November 20th. 1120. Is that one of the numbers? No, it was just it's just near my birthday, that's all.
SPEAKER_03Oh, that's what I thought. Like I I knew that, but I was like, it's something else.
SPEAKER_00While walking, they see Sun stopped by a tree in pain. They ask if everything is alright, and she tells them she's just lightheaded and walks away. Jack gets out of the shower in the hatch and finds Locke shaving. Jack is surprised to see him as he had not finished showering, but Locke tells him that the steam opens up his pores.
SPEAKER_03He tells him I'm sorry, but I found this to be a little bit like a passive aggressive, like, I'm in your space, kind of bigatively, literally, and as far as I don't want to say leadership role, but like this is a shared position, this is a shared space, this is a shared role. Get with it. That's why I took it, but it does open up your pores.
SPEAKER_00And suggests Anna Lucia. Jack says he'll talk to her, but Locke says he already did. And she's talking to him this very moment. Fucking love that.
SPEAKER_03Okay. I get that there needs to be one person kind of like there also needs to be one person that's a go-to as a default leader-esque kind of thing. Because you need some kind of sense of order. At the same time, I feel like, yeah, he in this position, in this situation, he can't be the in all and be all. There's not like it can't be a dictatorship, especially since he's not exactly a wartime consigliary. Like we need, I love the Godfather. Like he needs, we need someone with like oomph. We need someone with skills to to assess and fix the situation that you're in now. And I don't think um Jack has the qualifications to make decisions with Henry. And you think that Lop does? I I think combined they do. I think combined they definitely could. Um I find That Jack is kind of like Jack has shown that he's a little petty as far as his decision making. Like in the army, you don't talk to Saeed, and let's say, considering you're considering the people on the island, you don't talk to Kate. You know what I mean? And I think he's a little like it's you hurt my feelings with Kate and Said. I don't want you challenging my authority. I think it's a lot to do with um, so Locke is a little bit like mystical kind of shit going on, but at the same time, he does have he can strategize. He does have some set of skills that I think combined, they can work. I still think Saeed should have been your go-to person. I think it should have been Said in Locke instead of Jack, but hey, that's just me. What do I know?
SPEAKER_00Well, you are a professional TV watcher.
SPEAKER_03I am. That I that I am, thank you, Lisa.
SPEAKER_00In the armory, Henry tells Anna the story he already told the other survivors. He tells her about his balloon and his wife's grave. Anna suggests that he draw a map to his balloon and she'll look for it. And if she finds it, they'll believe him. Back on the beach, Sun, okay. I don't think that she did a bad job when she talked to him. I think that she actually did a really good job. I I can I can incur. Um, like I said, I I didn't find her character to be that annoying in this episode. I think it's overall, she's still not my favorite, but I um and I think I don't know.
SPEAKER_03I I don't excuse her behavior at all. But I don't think her behavior as a cop was a malicious situ that I don't think it was her, I don't think it was malicious. I think she had PTSD and she didn't handle it right. I think she should never for me. I don't think she should never have been in the field. I think she wasn't, I think she has severe PTSD.
SPEAKER_00It's just her whole overall like demeanor, you know, like so condescending to people.
SPEAKER_03And you know, that's her character she plays in every show I've ever every movie, every show. And for some reason, it works for her. I like, I don't know, it doesn't bother me. I don't know why.
SPEAKER_00Back on the beach, Sun asks Sawyer, who's reading a book. Did you see what book he was reading?
SPEAKER_03Yes, and I gotta tell you, I've never read a Judy Bloom book ever. I oh like whenever I was reading Judy Bloom, I was reading Agatha Christie and Jackie Collins, but that's besides the point. So I never I it like the that the the tween genre of books never interest me at all.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. I didn't really read it a lot like back then. I used to like um Christopher Pike and like Fear Street books. I like all that gory shit. But the book is about a girl who like gets her period.
SPEAKER_03Yes, I remember that vaguely because everyone talked about it.
SPEAKER_00I think And here comes Son who didn't get hers. I think that was his fucking sterile.
SPEAKER_03I was like, this is fucking awesome.
SPEAKER_00He's like, it's predictable, not enough sex. So she asks if she can look over the medicines and the supplies, and he says, no.
SPEAKER_03He's like a fucking child. Like I still like him. I really do. I don't know why. I feel sick liking him sometimes.
SPEAKER_00He tells her to ask specifically for what she wants, and he'll let her know if she has it, and she asks for a pregnancy test. Anna Lucia approaches Said, who, together with Charlie, is building a dining table. She tells them about Henry's map and suggests they go look for the balloon. Said says it's at least a day's walk, and she repon she responds that they should thus leave immediately. Here, this is the part. On the way to the balloon, Anna notices the gun that Charlie carries. She tells him he should give the gun to someone who knows how to use it. And Charlie responds that as he recalls, the last time she held a gun, she killed someone.
SPEAKER_03He was talking about Shannon. Right. Right. I okay, but I don't think she knew about the whole. That's about like her past. I don't know if anyone knows about her. Oh, right.
SPEAKER_00No, no, no, no. Of course not. No, no, that's oh no, that was a bad thing. That's what I was referring to.
SPEAKER_03It's about Shannon. Okay. I was okay. Right, okay. Because I was I forget about Shannon.
SPEAKER_00I mean, we know that she pulled the gun on the guy with the TV and all that, but like everybody still knows about Shannon.
SPEAKER_03Her trigger happ okay, okay. I don't think Lac knows about it. I was referring to her when I think of trigger happy, I think about her past and her her flashback life. That's what I was referring to. Okay, got it. Kind of forgot about Shannon, but I didn't forget about it. Anyway, we're I'm weird.
SPEAKER_00Charlie decides to give the gun to Said. And after walking some more, Saeed notices the cliff from the map. Back at the beach, Sun takes her pregnancy test and waits with Kate for the result. She asks Kate if she ever took one and Kate says she did. After two minutes, they find out that Sun is pregnant. They consult with Jack whether the test is reliable, and Jack says it is. And it's time for Sun to tell Jin the whole truth. Jack heads back again to the hatch, and Kate is still unaware of what's going on down there. At night, as Charlie sleeps, Anna talks to Said. She tells him that she knows nobody likes her, and it was this way her whole life. Even though she's gonna try to make them like her, she is who she is. But Said, according to her, has a good reason to hate her. And she says she is sorry for what she did. Said replies that she was just trying to protect her people and that it wasn't Anna who killed Shannon but them, the others. He says, once they find out Henry is one of them, something will have to be done. The next day, they arrive at the place the balloon was supposed to be and decide that each one will search in another section of the jungle. Back at the beach, Bernard is looking for oysters, hoping to find a pearl, presumably for Rose, as a birthday present. But there are no oysters on this beach. Sawyer arrives and tells Bernard that Sun is pregnant. And Jin, who does not understand when Sawyer calls him Daddy O, he goes to Sun's garden when they're speaking, and Jin, you hear from Jin's perspective, it's like backward shit again.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, I feel I think at this point he may have understood them, but I think he had an idea of who and what was the like who they're talking about. I guess he got so did they tell you what the backward shit was eventually? Do we ever find out what the hell that was? Okay, thank you. Thank you for telling me that that was gonna drive me crazy.
SPEAKER_00He goes to Self's Garden and starts fixing it. Sun arrives and Jen apologizes for his action, saying that he feels helpless and he cannot speak to because he cannot speak the other's language or understand them and that he needs her. Sun finally tells him that she is pregnant and he happily hugs her. She tells him the truth about what the fertility doctor says and says that she's he's the only man she's been with and that it's a miracle. Together they decide upon a name for their child and agree that they should tell the other survivors the good news. Sun says that Jack and Kay already know, and Sawyer probably does too. Only then does Jin understand the meaning of the name Sawyer gave him, Daddy O, and says that Bernard knows too. Jin then agrees to leave her alone in the garden, and while she tells him she loves him in Korean, he intentionally replies to her in English saying, I love you. Back at the hatch, Jack takes Henry, who is reading, out of his cell to eat breakfast. Henry notices the computer and asks and asks what it's for, but Jack replies nothing. He asks a whole lot of questions.
SPEAKER_03Okay, the fact that he asks so many questions should tell you a lot of things. Like, that's the reason um people that I don't know or just met who bombard me little a lot of questions, I back off. I don't trust you. And it's just I don't know what it is. I I don't know exactly why, because I know how I know human nature.
SPEAKER_00But at the same time, it's like you don't know who this dude is.
SPEAKER_03He's asking me questions.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, and then not only that, but how the fuck are they supposed to know where all this shit came from? And they could and and they could be so curious, but where are they gonna what are they gonna ask the walls?
SPEAKER_03And I think that's part of the reason I think that's another reason I took it as he not only I don't think he not only wants to know answers, he wants to know how much they know. Not so much, I don't know if it's not some I don't I don't think it's so much as what they do know is what they don't know. Um so but yeah, I'm telling you, Henry Gail, I I don't know how no one can see this. Maybe because you're in it, you can't see it because you're in it, but dude is shady as fuck. Like, what the hell? I don't know, but that's just me.
SPEAKER_00Um Locke gives him his cereal and Henry questions where all the food comes from. Locke tells him it was already down there when they found it. Henry is surprised that they are not as curious to where all this stuff in the hatch came from. He then proceeds to inform them that he drew a map for Anna Lucia, and when he sees they are surprised to hear about it, even though it's obvious that Henry knew knew that they didn't know about the map, he jokes about the secrecy the survivors maintain against one another. He starts to wonder out loud what he would do if he were an other. How instead of supplying Anna Lucia with a map to his balloon, he would instead give her a map that would lead her party into an ambush. When Locke and Jack look at him in suspicion, he simply says, You guys got any milk? I fucking love him.
SPEAKER_03I do, like his character is I like you know he's up to no good, but his character has it brings a lot to the show because it's so like Machiavellian. So he's telling the story. I'm like, the blue's there. Like I don't believe him. I don't believe him. I know he's like he is he's up to no good, but I'm like, the blue's there. He's fucking with them. Like he does a lot of things to fuck with their heads. Like he's playing chess, and then I then and they're playing they're playing Twister. Like it's like they're on a way whole different ball game. Um, but I I sat down like the blue's there. There's some like because I'm like, he's not gonna have his story, he's not gonna have his elaborate story, and not expect them to try to confirm it. So that's like that's my take on Mr. Gail. Trivia? No, hold on. Okay, I gotta double, I gotta refresh my notes. Okay. So see the synopsis, there's a lot they don't so this is also the scene where Gail was talking to La about prophets and martyrs, and it reminded me of a scene from shit, six years ago that we just recorded. Um, when they first had him.
SPEAKER_00Well, they they first came across him in one of them, which was two episodes ago.
SPEAKER_03Thank you. When they had him, I'm looking for the words. They had him, I know, but I can't get the word out of my mouth. Strung up. Thank you. That's clear. Time with a bad MS moment. Um, and I felt and I was like, oh, here comes religion again, here comes lost, and Maw strong on the cross. Yeah, I never really connected that. I didn't connect it until um I just saw a like a screenshot of the scene. I'm like, oh they have him up like this, they have him, they have him painted to the cross. He's the like he's a martyr for the greater good. Meanwhile back at the farm. He's more like Pontius Pilate. But um, things are coming back to me. I'm not a complete heathen. I do have some um some religious knowledge. And it it's like I feel like it's every episode that there's a lot of religion thrown into it, whether you catch it or not, whether it's something whether it's just that, oops, that is a happy accident. I don't know. I find that there might be a couple of happy accidents because that's just the odds that everything is.
SPEAKER_00Some of it is very blatant, and some of it is I was like, oh, might be interpretation.
SPEAKER_03So I'm like, I think this is something that I caught that Lisa did catch, and I kind of feel like oh my god, I gotta win! Woo-hoo! Um Yay, witch magnets.
SPEAKER_00Alright, so let's do um the dialogue between Bernard and Sawyer from Jin's perspective? Yes. Okay, so Bernard says, How do you know? No, I'm sorry. Bernard says, Well, how do you know? Sawyer. Oh, I got my source, Bernard. Well, aren't you gonna tell him that? Sawyer, not my place. Bernard, you should tell him or Sawyer. Hell no, let sunshine tell him. That's cool it was. They just brought it backwards. Oh so that it sounds like jibrjg.
SPEAKER_04Oh, because it sounds like okay, it sounds like jitterish if you don't understand the language. So oh, they just have the same conversation Oh okay, that's cool.
SPEAKER_00Um, as for trivia, the pregnancy test that Sun uses is produced by Whitmore Labs.
SPEAKER_02Now that sounds so fucking familiar. Remember, I saw it, but I was like, I don't get it.
SPEAKER_00On the when I said to the billboard when Char on Charlie's episode when they were doing the commercial, and they were outside talking to the producer and he was firing them. Okay, so yeah, there was a billboard out there that says something about Widmore.
SPEAKER_03Interesting.
SPEAKER_00So now this is the second time that that name is coming up.
SPEAKER_04And it's not like, okay, so here's a question. Here's a here's a is it not question to be answered. Is it, hey, it's just a name brand that you're gonna see regardless? Like and I'll day, like right now in real life you see Johnson and Johnson.
SPEAKER_03Like, is it is it one of those names that you don't see regardless because it's just out there? Like the what's that Apollo bars? Yeah, is that like that's their Hershey's, so it's like it's you know, or is it foreshadowing Woodenwood Labs? Obviously, they do they do something scientific, the lab, whether it's they dood Labs, Dongma Initiative. Are they are they attached or are they not attached? Is it something that's annoying that it's just a regular brand that you're gonna see regardless?
SPEAKER_00Or maybe it's just trivia and I'm reading it to you so that you can do it.
SPEAKER_04Or maybe you're just doing that just to throw me off the sit.
SPEAKER_00You're gonna go on all day long for that. When Anna Lucia was running, Locke says that she's running like the devil's chasing her, and that's the same phrase that Desmond used when he met Jack. You do with that what you want.
SPEAKER_03I have nothing to do with that. Okay, it's a phrase, you know, that it's it's it's not uncommon that it'll be used more than once in one situation. It's a common phrase. I'm not reading into that.
unknownOkay.
SPEAKER_03I'm not going down that rabbit hole.
SPEAKER_00Okay, alright. I'm not drunk enough. The episode is called The Whole Truth. So pretty self-explanatory. I mean, Jack says like you need to tell him the whole truth, and everyone opens up their but did she really tell him the whole truth?
SPEAKER_03I don't think she did. Um she's telling him we see the flashback of Yeah, but there's still more to it's right. So we don't technically know what she's doing. She hugged him and she like she loved she like she's like, I never, you know, I was never one of the men, but when she and they hug and she has that look of guilt on her face.
SPEAKER_02Like resignation and her no, I think it's they've been out for two months about this point.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, they crashed, okay. So they crashed September 22nd. It's November 22th. And it's November 20th, so it's been two months.
SPEAKER_03We don't know. I mean, uh could it be hotel guys? I feel like there's more to it because her look on her face as they were hugging, they're like, uh-uh, there's more to it. She didn't tell the whole truth.
SPEAKER_00But what if it's just the island? I mean, the island gave Locke the ability to walk, so maybe it gave Jin some sperm. I feel I don't the look on her face. It just helped his little buddies out.
SPEAKER_03Her look on her face said there was more to it. There's so much more to it. Stop with the devil advocate.
SPEAKER_00There's always more to it with this show. Come on.
SPEAKER_03I know there's more to it as far as she's concerned, specifically. Like she didn't tell him everything because she there was there was guilt, there was sadness, there was relief at the same time. Nope. You're not gaslighting me, Lisa. Fine.
SPEAKER_00Okay. Anything else before we shut it down?
SPEAKER_03Um, I I no, I think that's it.
SPEAKER_00Okay, so that'll do it for this episode. Stay tuned for the next episode when we're gonna talk about lockdown and it's a lock episode. I asked you before. You said you wanted to.
SPEAKER_03I wanna know what happens to his legs. Are we gonna find out what happened? Because like we've been walking for so long, you kind of forget. Like he has to put in his flashbacks, he's walking. So you forget that he was in a wheelchair. So I'm like, I like you honestly, I'm like, I don't know. I'm like, oh shit, yeah, he could have walked before. So I wanna know.
