SPEAKER_01

Hi and welcome to this episode of Sassin Steps. Where every week we'll be discussing and dissecting an episode of Loss in Order while we drink. We are your hosts. I'm Lisa. And I'm Agnes. And today's episode is three minutes. What are you drinking today?

SPEAKER_00

I'm drinking uh my mommy's special coffee. Mommy's coffee. I don't know. This is not mommy's juice. I gotta think of a name for it. My special coffee. Pick me up coffee. No, I'll think of something.

SPEAKER_01

Okay. I have a beer. Good old beer.

SPEAKER_00

Can't go wrong.

SPEAKER_01

No. So today's episode focuses on Michael. And all the flashbacks are actually on island flashbacks.

unknown

I noticed that.

SPEAKER_00

Is this the this is okay? So we had um the other 48 days, that was an on island flashback. Was there any other ones? This is it, right? This is number two. Um Claire's. Oh, right, right, right. But her right, right, right, right, right. Okay. I thought I was being clever with noticing it. But never mind.

SPEAKER_01

Well, but you did. So, kudos.

SPEAKER_00

Yay, brownie points.

SPEAKER_01

So you you were hoping to see basically what you saw, but more about Walt. So we didn't really get so much into Walt, but we did kind of learn about what happened with Michael in the time that he was gone. And so um we guessed that it was two weeks and it was 13 days. So we were really close.

SPEAKER_00

Uh this step I'm I'm going for the price is right, but you know what? I don't know how much things cost anymore. I think I had a better idea of cost when I was younger. And now I'm like, whatever it is, it's too much.

SPEAKER_01

Anything that you wanna say before I do the flashbacks? Okay. Thirteen days ago, Michael approaches Locke in the gun vault asking to borrow a gun for more target practice. When he asks for some bullets, he knocks a box of them off of the shelf. Locke stoops to pick them up, and Michael hits him with the butt of his rifle. Here we go again with the butt of the rifle.

SPEAKER_00

Leaving him like my waist. I know my waist of bullets. Well, I mean, because you don't want to kill them. But like I have yeah, that's true, but I have questions about the butt of the rifle. I don't feel, maybe I'm wrong. It's not as easy to hit that spot to knock someone out as the TV as TV and movies portray it to be. There's a spot like just hitting someone in the head, you have to hit the right force, the right spot.

SPEAKER_01

Okay, but that's right. But they just use it, like they can be.

SPEAKER_00

Um to the flashback.

SPEAKER_01

He leaves Locke unconscious. Michael heads to the computer and types on the keyboard to Walt. Walt tells his father that he is being held near an unusual rock formation with a large hole in the center. Michael types that he's leaving now. Jack wakes up in the next room, calls for Locke and finds him unconscious in the vault. Michael corners him threateningly, telling Jack he's leaving to find Walt and that it's his right to go after Walt. He locks them both in. Running across the island, Michael encounters Danny Pickett with his back towards Michael, apparently urinating. Michael draws the rifle on him. He distracts Michael by asking if he's Walt's old man, while the man from the boat sneaks up from behind and disarms Michael of his rifle. Trap. Running away, Michael draws his pistol, shots are fired back and forth, but the bearded man stops the others from shooting because they need him. Michael runs but is brought down by the man's bolus. I don't know what that is. The bearded man tells them to bag him quickly because his friends are right behind them. When we saw this scene from the the other perspective, like in the other episode, so we heard the shots. Shots. And now we have the image, you know what had happened. What happened though? What happened was Michael is dragged into a campsite where Alex is waiting for them. The bearded man takes off Michael's bag, prompting him to spit in the other's face. The other brings out a bagged Kate who was caught by the others when she tried to catch up with Jack's group. Michael is warned that if he speaks up, he'll never see Walt again. The bearded man leaves to talk with her people, meaning Kate. He appears to Jack, Lock, and Sawyer, and uses Kate as leverage to make them surrender and leave. So basically, we're seeing the same events that we saw before, but from a different perspective.

SPEAKER_00

So I think this scene proved to it just proved just correct when we said whether they had whether Kate had followed or not, whether they had Kate or not, they still had a plan to deal with Jack and his people. They still like they Kate was just like, oh, this is just extra. I think Kate was just like a bonus, but they were still gonna stop them, they were still gonna take their guns, they was um the survivors were still outmanned, nothing changed at all. So um this just proved this just actually just proved us right.

SPEAKER_01

When the other shouts for Alex to bring Kate out, when the other shouts for Alex to bring Kate out, she pleads for the other male to take her instead. He obliges, and in the moment of privacy, Alex quickly asks Michael how Claire is doing and whether or not she's had her baby. Michael simply stands stunned. I guess from his perspective, he's probably like, What the fuck?

SPEAKER_00

Like because he doesn't know anything. He doesn't know at this point they still hadn't gone to the hatch where she was kept, right? When he was kidnapped. So no one like he he has no idea the fucking. But he has no idea about the all they know is that Claire was gone for however time what the two wasn't she gone for two weeks too? About I don't yeah, I don't remember. I feel like I remember anyway. So he's like, what the fuck?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, no, he was gone by the time they left. By the time they found it. And and then like think about it, as far as he's concerned, he's basically tied and gagged, and they're the enemy, and then here comes somebody like what you know, so I I would have been confused as fuck.

SPEAKER_00

I would like I'm surprised he retained the way he did at that point with himself. I would have been like, bitch.

SPEAKER_01

With the main survivors unarmed, they retreat with Kate as the bearded man steals their weapons. Returning to Michael, he glances at Alex, who apologizes before knocking Michael unconscious. Eleven days ago. The other's team hikes across a hillside and Michael is struggling because he's been marching without rest. The boat captain announces that they're at their destination. Michael notes a stone formation on top of the hill, recognizing it as the one Walt mentioned in his message. The group approaches a set of huts and tents, and they walk past a set of doors with a Dharma logo guarded by two men with rifles, and a group of three people making a fishnet. The bearded man orders Alex to tell her we're here, and the male other approaches Michael, taking a blood sample. A woman approaches, and Michael demands information about Walt from her. She introduces herself as Miss Clue and asks and asks Michael questions about Walt, which he can't answer, such as has he ever appeared in a place he wasn't supposed to be, which we know is true. She adds that you say he was halfway around the world, but did you see him? And states that for someone who wants to see Walt so badly, Michael doesn't seem to know much about him. Notably the same words said by the lawyers during Michael's custody battle. This is the first look that we get at the others in their appetite, right? Right. So what did you think about seeing them? Like seeing their setup.

SPEAKER_00

I don't know if better than the tents and the brook. Right. Um, but obviously they've been there for a while because soon they've been there longer than a couple of months. They've you know they're sit they seem to be situated, sitiated. They have some kind of set, like they were actually in one, the hatches. So maybe they are the other anyway, but um think much of it because they were definitely there before they were, so they already had their they honestly had time to get situated and they know they're not gonna be saved, so like might as well like make this our home. Because you kinda think about it, the survivors, although they didn't mean well, they completely Christopher Columbus to this island.

SPEAKER_01

Okay, but but when Michael came back and was saying, I saw them, they live in tents and blah blah blah. And we were like, that's bullshit. But now we see them. It's not it's I mean Okay, but it's basically what he described.

SPEAKER_00

I mean it's it's So now what? It's more it's it's more advanced than what they have. Well, yeah. He gave the premise, he gave the premise, he gave the idea that it was like they were like worse off than they were. He gave the idea like he he he implied that they were completely just like outer elements. They actually built hutches and half they actually built so Okay, granted. Do you expect a skyscraper? No.

SPEAKER_01

But the better that the my point was just I no no no, I know what you're saying. Yes. And I know what you're saying, too. The campsite is still better than what the survivors have. But the point that I'm trying to make is that which is which is one of the reasons why I kind of brought it up the last that last time, because Michael is like, oh, they live in tents and they're kind of primitive, and they only have the two guns, and Kate was like, No, they're sophisticated. And so we were like, Oh no, but that's bullshit, because you know, like Michael's story is bullshit. And we saw in the staff hatch with Ethan and the other guy from the boat and they were you know they were dressed like professionally kind of, you know. Right, and they had like the makeup professional stage. They had stage makeup and they had so now but now we see that wait, they are in like what Michael described was accurate. So what was which one was the makeup? Go ahead. Raise your head, yes.

SPEAKER_00

So you know how yay, okay. You know how they all live, most they live on the beach and they have their little whatever. But then they go to the hatch. The survivors. But the survivors they live on the beach and they go to the hatch to whatever, the people who work uh just to do whatever they need to do, laundry, but they live on the beach. The same may be said of the of the others. They may live in these in the situation and they go to the hatch to work or plan or whatever, but of course the hatch is no longer being habited because Claire got away. But that might have been like their work and you know Okay. Because it may not have been big enough to at one point house all the others. So just like the hatch isn't big enough to house all the survivors, so it's kind of like a laundry work meeting place. So maybe it's both. That look on your face tells me absolutely nothing. You tell me nothing and everything you like the tattoo? Yeah, I've got it like a like a year and a half ago. Last time you were here I had it.

SPEAKER_01

Why don't I remember this? Am I losing my mind? Show me.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, I think it's uh my arm is weird because it's yeah, it's the mother and daughter. Oh, right, stuff like that. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Okay. And see, you got the same one on her arm. Okay. I do remember now.

SPEAKER_01

No, and you know what, now I remember. We were we were talking about what you wanted next.

SPEAKER_00

Right, 'cause I have like all three of I have my next three tattoos planned.

SPEAKER_01

Three days ago, Michael is kept tied up in a hut. Miss Clue brings him dinner. He asks her when she's going to kill him, as he has been kept for a week now without anything happening. He even comments that Walt probably isn't even alive. But Miss Clue tells him that Walt is standing right outside. She explains that one of their people has been captured, and that if Michael brings him back to the others, Walt will be returned to him. Michael insists on seeing Walt, and Miss Clue calls for Pickett to bring him in. Pickett is revealed to be the male other Michael encountered on his journey across the island. He brings Walt in, and the father and son are finally reunited. So you didn't think you were gonna see Walt again.

SPEAKER_00

Um I told you I didn't think we're gonna see him any like consistent context.

SPEAKER_01

Like I because if I don't think you said that, but okay.

SPEAKER_00

Well, I I might not have gotten in and out, but then no, like I did the whole hand thing. I remember doing the hand thing, like knowing like like he wasn't gonna be in there like in the show, in the show. Because if you could look at him now, okay, so that's spoiler alert I accidentally read when I did tell you I read it, is because during the break, puberty hit right for him, and then like, oh yeah, this is not gonna work anymore. Um, but if you rem if you see him now and you remember him when he was taken, you're like, whoa, dude, like knowing it, you're like, shit, yeah, puberty that that's a bitch. So then obviously he's not gonna be. I think okay for like a two-minute like cameo is not gonna make much of a difference.

SPEAKER_01

Three minutes to be exact.

SPEAKER_00

He really wasn't in there a whole three minutes. But I three minutes island time. Three minutes island time. Um, but yeah, even seeing him, I'm like, yeah, that published a number. It's funny how kind of just think about my brother, like I feel like I see like being with her, like I didn't notice it. Like every day, you're like, oh, look, like a month you look back, like last this time last year, yeah. But looking back in hindsight, I'm like, damn, that was kind of overnight. Like, you know what I mean? So it does happen. So I can imagine like a two-month hiatus of I don't know, I'm just assuming whatever how long it takes between filming seasons, and they're like, um, he grew a foot and his voice changed. Okay, yeah. Okay, yeah, that's not gonna work. But I I still want to know how they're going to officially write him out. Because they still had to like I think they still had to bring him back in for this little moment. And I still think they may have like like flashes of him this season. Like maybe, I don't know, maybe like a flash here, a flash there. Um But they still have to I'm curious how they're gonna write him out officially.

unknown

Okay.

SPEAKER_00

I think the Spectre Walt would make appearances, so to speak. I think it's easier to hide the puberty when you're a specter. You know, like uh stop laughing at me because those looks tell me everything and nothing at the same time.

SPEAKER_01

Miss Clue informs Michael he has three minutes to talk with his son. Walt tells Michael that they have been forcing him to take tests and that the others are not who they say they are. They're pretending. Miss Clue threatens that she will put Walt in the room again if he doesn't stop talking about that, which causes Walt to freeze. Cutting the reunion short, Walt is removed, but not before he manages to break free and hug his father. That was tough, like to watch.

SPEAKER_00

I felt nothing, so I'll probably know.

SPEAKER_01

I mean, I wasn't like, oh my god, this is so sad, like Hurley crying for Libby, you know.

SPEAKER_00

That ain't touch me either. I I'm going to hell. I've lost the small even decent.

SPEAKER_01

I mean, I'm I'm I'll see you there, but just for different reasons.

SPEAKER_00

Okay.

SPEAKER_01

You got it.

SPEAKER_00

The hot springs.

SPEAKER_01

Michael sobs as he is torn from Walt again, and Miss Clue takes advantage of this by requesting something else. She gives Michael a list with four names on it, telling him that he must also bring them all these four people. Otherwise, he'll never see Walt again. Michael agrees, looking at the list, which has the names of Jack, Kate, Hurley, and James Ford. A confused Michael says he doesn't know a James Ford, and Miss Clue explains that Michael knows him as Sawyer. However, uh-huh.

SPEAKER_00

Question not to be answered. How the hell do they know all of this? So like how do they you're like, they know so much. You're like, how the fuck do they know? You want to know why they know? Because they're all dead, and the others aren't really others, others are like other they're like gatekeepers of purgatory. So that's how they know everything. Okay.

SPEAKER_01

What if they just have like the internet?

SPEAKER_00

That was so simple, but so but still so like a complete mindfuck with that one.

SPEAKER_01

They have electricity.

SPEAKER_00

Can't they just have the internet? If they have internet, don't you think they would have reached out? See, it that's illogical. They're all dead, that makes the most sense. And the others are gatekeepers. Like the others are planted there for the survivors to do their journey. Yeah, the purgatory. Boss has driven me fucking crazy, Lisa.

SPEAKER_01

I know, but this is hilarious. I love it. I love it.

SPEAKER_00

My answer, like you were laughing with my mind. Mm-hmm. Another example of why I'm proud to be your friend.

SPEAKER_01

Well, because I'm on this journey with you. So this is awesome. Let me let me explain something also. Is that when Lost was on TV and all of us suckers watched week by week, we all went down this crazy lost rabbit hole and felt like we were all going insane. So to now, in hindsight, know what the fuck is actually going on. I mean, you know, with a grain of sauce here and there. But to watch somebody else go through it, oh, this is so good.

SPEAKER_00

You know what? Just for that, I'm gonna watch the whole fucking series in one setting and then be like watch a bitch. I totally would. I'll watch at least that whole fucking season right the fuck now. Try me. Try me.

SPEAKER_01

The look you face threatening me to watch more episodes. But then your whole maybe, maybe not, interesting wouldn't fucking work, at least for a season. At least for a season, but not really. Cause this is lost. Just for that?

SPEAKER_00

I can knock out four fucking seasons and oh try me. She's looking like this bitch really would if she wanted to. Like if I really wanted to, she's like, damn it, I gotta be nice.

SPEAKER_01

Don't forget. Don't forget though, that next time it's your turn to pick the show. And I'm not gonna be as evil as you, I'm not gonna be as Mercedes as you are. Nobody tells you not to be. I mean, come on. Like that would just be doing yourself like dirty if you didn't make me go through all this shit.

SPEAKER_00

But was it really? Will it really?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, because don't you wanna have fun too? Don't you wanna watch me quit? I might be. Okay.

SPEAKER_00

And anyway I think I just scared her a little bit. She's just like, I don't know what she has to do.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I don't know. I don't know what just gonna happen. I'm not sure. Okay. You guys if if I don't come back The next episode. You will never find my body with this one.

SPEAKER_00

And but listen, another reason why you're my friend and you're proud of be my friend. I got skills.

SPEAKER_01

Tell my kids I did love them. Okay.

SPEAKER_00

Okay, listen. To be fair, if anyone disappears, we'll both be disappeared. We're somewhere in a fucking island. I would disappear as bug, Lisa. Okay. I'll change our names. I'll disappear as both. Don't worry. Alright, I can do that. She's like, please, please now. She's like, now, do it now.

SPEAKER_01

Please. I'll be ready in I I could be ready in an hour. I gotta be halfway. I gotta be cavvy foot. Like we could Listen, if if we both start driving down eighty, we'll meet halfway and then we'll ditch my car, because my car is not as Yeah my car's not as reliable as yours.

SPEAKER_00

Okay, that sounds like a plan.

SPEAKER_01

And then you know.

SPEAKER_00

And I gotta I gotta get dishes plans, I'm set. Yeah. Oh, definitely. You gotta have to pick up the other one in Long Island first.

unknown

Jesus Christ.

SPEAKER_01

Can't she just meet me here? Can she meet me halfway? She's in Jersey. She doesn't drive. She needs to figure it the fuck out. Otherwise she can't come. Just point your car and hit the gas.

SPEAKER_00

That's how most people learn. If you if you if I'm if you go by where these people are driving, that's exactly how they learn.

SPEAKER_01

Some of these people I think learned by like playing like Grand Theft Auto, I swear. But I think if they did, they'll they'd be better drivers.

SPEAKER_00

I don't think they did that.

SPEAKER_01

Like they're playing like the Have you played Grand Theft Auto? Because you could drive over anything. That's a very good point. And run people over and steal their money. It's awesome. Did you play? I haven't played in a while. Uh-uh.

SPEAKER_00

I know. I I'll tell you when we start recording.

SPEAKER_01

Ooh, okay. I like this.

SPEAKER_00

Um so way off topic.

SPEAKER_01

Oh. Michael has his own demand saying that if he does all this for them, he also wants their boat. In the present day. Michael is seen burning a small piece of paper outside the swan, which we would later find out that it's the list. Yes. Jack calls Michael into the hatch to talk. Michael, Kate, Hurley, Jack, and Sawyer discuss their armaments and what to do next. Jack wants to attack the others with many people. Michael wants to leave immediately to the other site with just the five people present. We're not taking a damn army across the island. Hurley wants to bury the dead. Jack declares that they will bury the dead first. And if Jack says so, it must be true. You're down happy about Jack. And then figure out what's next. Hurley will dig Libby's grave, and Kate will dig the grave for Anna Lucia. Later, Michael is in the hatch cleaning the blood. Echo enters, having returned from his excursion with Locke, and helps to clean. Michael asks Echo about his belief in hell. Echo avoids answering Michael's question about his personal belief in hell and instead relays a story about a boy who has beaten his dog to death. The moral of the story was that even though the boy felt justified in killing the dog to protect his sister, sister. The moral of the story was that even though the boy felt justified in killing the dog to protect his sister, his biggest concern was whether he would again meet the vengeful dog in hell. You think Echo knew That was deep.

SPEAKER_00

I get the feeling that Echo He knows something. He knew, like I think, um, he led a very evil life. And I think living that living that life that he led, you see things in people. So I think he he knows what's up. He knows there's something more than what's yeah.

SPEAKER_01

And and I also believe that he's a good judge of character. You have to be. Because and he and he doesn't say much. He watches. You know, he learns and he I think he knew.

SPEAKER_00

You have to be live the life he led. That's how you live that long. You know, that's right, he knows he knows something. You know what he knows, but he knows something.

SPEAKER_01

Michael leaves the hatch because he had to get out of there. And Jack finds Michael vomiting and reassures him that they will get Walt back. Good idea.

SPEAKER_00

Jack was so wrong or so made like he's always wrong.

SPEAKER_01

Michael still insists that Jackie, Kate, Sawyer, and Hurley must be the only ones to go and that it's his call to make. Jack concedes. How do you feel about his assertion that it's his call to make because it's his kid?

SPEAKER_00

So I okay, on the face value, you're like, yeah, okay, fine. But the people he picked make no sense. Like Hurley, like like coming from a man who wants to get his kid, that would have thrown me completely off. Like. Yeah, okay, yeah. That should really the fact that he was so insistent about those people should have been his first side that something was wrong. And the fact you uh and the fact that it wasn't a red flag just proves to me that he should not be the de facto leader, whatever he is. Who would you have picked? Definitely Saeed. Um in case of Hurley, yeah. Yeah, Kate, because she does have some skills.

SPEAKER_01

Um I would have thrown Locke in there too.

SPEAKER_00

Or he knows Locke is injured though. Or Echo. Definitely Echo. Hello, big sick guy.

SPEAKER_01

Um I get what Michael is saying about like the whole army, they'll hear us coming. But you could you want to do whatever to protect your kid if you if you think that this is the best idea. Uh like, and as Jack, in a sense, like I wouldn't want to be the one to go against it because then if shit goes wrong, you're the one to blame.

SPEAKER_00

No.

SPEAKER_01

So on that end, I can understand why Jack concedes.

SPEAKER_00

But unconscious level though, as a leader though, let's say I think a real leader has to make you can empathy sympathy, there's no room for sympathy in leadership. He can empathy is definitely net needed in leadership. I empathize that this is your child and you do what's right for your child. That being said, these people I so these people probably have the best choice for this submission. So because he didn't, so whether he saw that as a red flag or not, it still wasn't let's say it's not a red flag at all. Let's say it was just completely, let's say Michael was compl there was nothing wrong with Michael was doing. Still, as a leader, these are not the this is not the best course of action. Period.

SPEAKER_01

And not and not only that, but if I okay, fine. I'll concede you want you don't want to take an army, you want to keep it tight, fine. But then keeping it tight with like it's kind of like what Sawyer goes on to say, like we're going on a damn mission, like you take the one person who's actually been assaulted. Right. So so I think the fact because then you put the rest of them at risk. And Jack I I love Hurley, but what's he gonna do? What's Jack gonna do?

SPEAKER_00

Absolutely. And then Jack, so Sawyer told Jack, this is not the good idea, this is not the best idea. First of all, Michael was assistant and you didn't catch it. Sawyer told you you didn't catch it, and then finally, like, dude. Yeah. Yeah. Back to what I said like last season. If Said wasn't Middle Eastern, he would have been the de facto leader because of his skills.

SPEAKER_02

Mm-hmm. Absolutely.

SPEAKER_00

And he should have been. He damn well should have been. Maybe Jack, maybe it's his right hand. I can see that.

SPEAKER_01

Maybe. I think I think I would have put Even Sawyer might make a better judge of character. For a lot of things.

SPEAKER_00

You have to. Like, you know what I mean? You have to see people.

SPEAKER_01

I just think like his intentions may have been questioned.

SPEAKER_00

Good point. Because Jack has good intentions. I think only I said Jack as a second, as your good as your right hand, because the first day he kind of went to action as a doctor and people already look at him for comfort in that sense. So I think as a s he should have been like as part of the inner groups, you know, the the leadership group, definitely, for a lot of reasons. But as the head, people look towards him as a leader, I don't see it. I really don't.

SPEAKER_01

Did you know that originally they wanted to cast um Michael Keaton as Jack and kill him off in the first episode? And then Kate, I think Kate would have been like the main character.

SPEAKER_00

That would have been so fucking cool. That would have been a totally different loss. And I think I would have I wanna see a couple episodes, like if this happened. You know, like they need to have made like a couple of episodes. Like, hey, if this would have hap if this was the original, this would have happened. At least like three to four episodes, like a little mini si a little mini-series.

SPEAKER_01

I'd watch it.

SPEAKER_00

I'll watch it.

SPEAKER_01

Claire is tending to Aaron as Charlie approaches. Claire is still cold toward him, and Charlie gives Claire a small case full of vaccine and pneumatic and a pneumatic injector which he found on the pallet and saved for them. Charlie says he has read the instructions included with the kit, and that a shot of the vaccine is supposed to be administered every nine days. Claire is thankful and seems to be warming to Charlie when she sees Michael walking with Jack toward the beach, interrupting the conversation. He also tells her that he tried it himself because he wanna give them anything that wasn't safe. Charlie is trying.

SPEAKER_00

He's really focused on working on himself. So he's never he's not a bad guy. And I definitely see, but I definitely understand why you want to keep your child away from someone working on their demons. Especially someone Yeah, especially infants.

SPEAKER_01

And I don't think that it's easy for her either.

SPEAKER_00

I think she wants to be in good grace with him, but it but you have to think of the well-being of your child. Like, yeah, this just because I find people f uh there isn't a black and white hardcore, you can not some you can't you cannot have someone in your life and still want the best for them. Those two are not mutually exclusive. And um this is the perfect example of that sentiment.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. Sun sees Michael and Jack walking. Excitedly, Jen approaches and hugs Michael as the son. Sun then notices that there are two covered bodies in the graveyard where a new grave is being dug by Kate. She inquires who? Michael tells about Anna Lucia and Libby and says that they were murdered. Jack is such a fucking drama queen. I mean they were, but like, he's such a fucking drama queen.

SPEAKER_00

I think this has to do with him keeping the of keeping the survivors so angry or incensed that they're not thinking straight. You know, they're not focused.

SPEAKER_01

That was so stupid. Forget it. He's a drama. He's Dr. Drama Queen.

SPEAKER_00

But Michael said it. Michael's a doctor.

SPEAKER_01

No. Wasn't it? Michael said they were. Michael said it. Yeah, no, you're right. Well, Mike Michael's a fucking whiny bitch baby. Whiny bitch baby. But yeah, yes.

SPEAKER_00

But maybe I might go back to them trying to keep them so off that focused on one thing and not focusing on the details. Yeah. Later, Michael. I feel like I was crazy because you thought it was Jack. You look at me like that. But Jack is a fucking drama queen too, but he is. He's a wine bus baby too, but he it comes out a different way.

SPEAKER_01

Later, Michael is petting Vincent on the beach. Meanwhile, Sawyer and Jack are in Sawyer's tent grabbing the weapons. Sawyer asks Jack about his relationship with Kate during the previous evening, and Jack says, We got caught in a net. Sawyer responds, that what they call in it these days? They head out of the tent just as Saeed approaches. Saeed asks if it's true that Henry is gone and who is going after him. Jack responds that Locke and Echo left to do this, and Sawyer notes that they haven't seen either one of them since. Saeed notices the guns and asks when do we leave? Jack tells Saeed he's not coming. Sawyer gives Saeed a pistol and welcomes him to join in the morning. I fucking love Sawyer.

SPEAKER_00

Right, common sense prevails. Like regardless of what he he he he's the king of common sense and he uses it.

SPEAKER_01

And I also like that he doesn't need Jack's permission.

SPEAKER_00

No, thank you. No one does. Like you'd be honest with if you're honest with yourselves. I kind of get that you need one person to keep things focused and on tax. But at the same time, I don't believe this is quite a democracy either. I don't remember any of us saying it's yeah, but if it was anyone else, I probably wouldn't be so anti-leadership. It's just because it's Jackie's that fit to the role.

SPEAKER_01

Echo is in the hatch and notes the magnetic property near the wall just as the timer hits the four-minute mark. Echo sits at the computer and enters the numbers, which return to 108 minutes. Charlie enters the dome and asks what Echo has been doing. Echo asks Charlie to bring him his things from the beach to the hatch because he's moving in. Charlie is concerned about the church, and Echo tells him that I am supposed to be doing something different now. Charlie is concerned about the church and Echo tells him that I am supposed to do something different now. Charlie declines Echo's request to get his things from the beach. Michael is sitting on the beach as Sawyer at Michael is sitting on the beach as Sawyer approaches and tells Michael that Said is joining. Michael is upset that Said was told, but says it's not a problem. However, Michael's mind soon changes and he approaches Saeed on the beach, telling him he is no longer welcome on the mission. Michael says that it's because he's planning a rescue while Saeed is planning revenge. Saeed shakes Michael's hand and concedes, wishing him luck. Fucking love Said. Said is like, okay, buddy. It's like he's doing to Michael what I do to Amaya, nodding smile.

unknown

Uh-huh.

SPEAKER_01

Uh-huh. Meanwhile, back at the farm. Yeah. Charlie is struggling to continue putting the roof on the church alone. Vincent approaches with the Virgin Mary statue in its mouth, dropping it at Charlie's feet, and Charlie responds, Are you kidding me? Did someone put you up to this? Charlie takes the statue and follows and follows Vincent to Sawyer's tent, where Charlie discovers the other Virgin Mary statues. Charlie takes all of them. Charlie is standing at the edge of the ocean, throwing a statue into the surf. He throws five more in and contemplates the last one. He throws it into the ocean as well, and then looks over his shoulder to notice that he was being watched by Locke. Sawyer and Jack are back in the hatch. Jack asks Echo what happened in the jungle, and Echo says they were unable to find Henry's trail. Jack tells Echo that they are burying Anna Lucia and Libya at sunset. Echo says that he will mourn for them in his own way. Jack and Sawyer are preparing firearms and discussing who is going to talk at the funeral. Sawyer learns Anna Lucia's last name is Cortez and says, Well, there you go. And reveals to Jack that I screwed her. Jack looks puzzled. So Sawyer says, We got caught in a net.

SPEAKER_00

That was funny, got chuckled my ass off.

SPEAKER_01

Sawyer tells Jack that he told him because he's about the closest thing Sawyer has to a friend because she's gone. Kate and Hurley are digging the graves as Michael approaches. Michael help Michael helps Kate with the digging and discusses the plan to attack the others. Hurley, though sorry about Walt, refuses to go, stating that there is no reason to. Michael tries to argue that they killed Libby, but Kate cuts him off. Most of the survivors approach the freshly dug graves at as dusk approaches. Locks is alone on the beach. He takes out a knife, cuts off his splint, and walks off towards the jungle with the full backpack, leaving his crutches behind. Where do you think he's going? What do you think he's up to?

SPEAKER_00

I don't know, but I have a feeling the next episode is gonna be a uh a lock a flashback. That's just my personal I don't know. I you'll let me know later though. That look on your face tells me nothing and everything.

SPEAKER_01

Said and Jack are walking together towards the graves and away from everyone else. Said tells Jack that he believes Michael has been compromised. His actions are not those of a man who is telling the truth, because a father will do anything for his son. He believes Michael freed Henry, that Michael intends to lead Jack into a trap, and that Henry was an other. Instead of talking to Michael, Said wants Michael to think he's in control so Jack and Said can create an advantage. Yo, Said is like on fucking point.

SPEAKER_00

Right, so okay, so Jack, if Saeed, the soldier, says, no, we're gonna let him think that we got him, and he's like, Well, why would we do that? Like, dude, shut the fuck up. Like, they just think to the fucking man, and that's it. Listen, like if someone questions you about a medical thing, you'll be pissed, right? Like, everyone has their skills and their whatever they're good at. Shut the f stop arguing with the man. And he even said it, like, how he was right from the get.

unknown

Right.

SPEAKER_00

He's like, I was right about Henry, and then you're still gonna question him, like, why dude? My fucking Jack. And and unfortunately, my pain and suffering would not end because what? Jack is one of the characters that survived the whole scene. Like, he's not going anywhere, right? Oh, fuck that look again. Anyway, he's in there long enough to drive me crazy. He ain't going nowhere. He's gonna be able to drive until I'm completely out of my mind with a with a jacket with long arms spitting bubbles out my mouth.

SPEAKER_01

Jack speaks about Anna Lucia saying few words. Hurley speaks about Libby becoming emotional. He then turns to Michael and says, I'm going with you. As Hurley says goodbye to Libby, Sun sh suddenly shouts, Boat, boat, and everyone turns to observe a sailboat not too far offshore.

SPEAKER_00

That's Desmond, right? Brother. Is it Desmond? Oh, is it? I don't know. That was my first thought. I'm like, it's a brother. Just think that's a lifetime brother. His name is Desmond, right? Desmond. Okay. Did you know I have a habit of calling people by their character name and their real name? I guess I'm I just kinda.

SPEAKER_01

Alright, well we'll see, I guess.

SPEAKER_00

It's Desmond. You have a tell. Do I? Mm-hmm. Okay. I hate you.

SPEAKER_01

It might be. The episode ends, and we we gotta look at the others' camp and where and where they're holding where they were holding Michael and where they're supposedly holding Walt.

unknown

Correct.

SPEAKER_01

Except we don't see the room because Walt mentioned something about a room. Right. So we don't see that.

SPEAKER_00

Is it the hatch that they originally had before? No, because the hatch has been emptied out by now. Interest. No, wait. What's the by now it's probably been empty out?

SPEAKER_01

Well we did see that they were going. Doors. So the room could be in there. Mm-hmm. We just think at this point we just don't know. So yeah, we learn about what Michael's plan is, more or less.

unknown

Right.

SPEAKER_01

We don't we I mean we don't have any idea what's gonna happen if Michael follows through with his plan.

SPEAKER_00

We We do know Said now is gonna whatever plan Michael has, Saeed is gonna have a counter plan because you know, there's some so that's gonna be some intrigue there.

SPEAKER_01

We have a boat, which apparently is Desmond. Libby and Anna Lucia are buried in the graveyard. The episode was called Three Minutes. And it the three minutes refers to the time that they give Michael to talk to Walt.

SPEAKER_00

Mm-hmm. But I feel like there's more to it.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, but I'm not really sure.

SPEAKER_00

I don't think there is. I can't I can't figure out anything else, but at the same time, this is lost. And I feel like this like I think there's always something else. Right, I find myself looking for something that's not there because it's lost. I feel like I'm that's I think that's why I'm gonna end up losing my mind.

SPEAKER_01

When Michael is talking to Walt, he mentioned that they're pretending.

SPEAKER_00

Pretending to do what? Pretending to be who? What are they pretending? Like what's going on? Like, pretend like I don't the it raises so many questions. Not only because first of all you're thinking, wait, what are they pretending to be? Like there's no there's no question of them pretending to be anything at one point. Like at up to this point, you never they were on our side, we're like, wait, they were pretending to be what? Like what are they pretending to do? Like what there was no sense of pretending. And now they're like, okay, so now like now this is a question, now this is thrown out there, they're like, but wait, what? Who were they claiming to be? Who are they really? And and you know, both of them now.

SPEAKER_01

So do you think that they could be pretending to be alive? Yes. No. Going back to when we were talking about how they live, remember Kate is convinced that they're sophisticated, and Michael was like, oh no, they live. So do you think that that could be what they're pretending about?

SPEAKER_00

Oh, and if so, which were they pretending to be? I don't know.

SPEAKER_01

Like maybe th those hatched doors, maybe that's where they live. Maybe there's like a whole you know, like another hatch, like the city, like technology, this and that, and they're not actually like fishing and living in canvas teepees.

SPEAKER_00

Maybe. Just saying. Interesting. I just don't know anything now. Like I this has to be so fucking confused. That pretending part. I was like, I was like you with the whole uh linen and dishes. Like completely my but listen, your reaction was kind of like priceless. You're like, It was a fucking great tip. I thought was I thought it was a pretty good tip, but no one's ever reacted the way you did, because I always thought it was a good thing. I was like, oh shit, this is genius. And it was like, oh, alright, yeah, whatever. And then so when you react the way I react, you say, Oh good, it's just not me. Like, I thought I was the only crazy chick out there.

SPEAKER_01

No, that's because we have like brain cells, and we realize what an amazing tip that was.

SPEAKER_00

So thank you, mommy. My mommy's awesome. She is, and this is the reason why she's she's terrifying. Listen, I love my mother, and I think uh we because we're so I always joke with her, like our similarities are so similar and our differences are so different that there's times we want to kind of kill each other. But but she might actually do it. Yeah, she might. But yeah, I respect that though. I respect that. I respect that gangster. This is the and that's the reason she will always be my phone call. Like she might be mine. She might have to be mine. I think she's like she's I've seen her get people out of shit, like while she's like with a simple phone call. Like I'm sorry. So like we still have family. My mother has been back to Tennessee and like she left when she was 17, really didn't go back, you know, and people are still afraid of her. Like, don't make me have to call my mama. Like so she should she should be everybody's phone call. Like, so this is the reason why I um she threatens me by putting like giving me like the matriarch crown. She's like, you're not matriarchated the family. I said, Yeah, no. I don't like this family. I don't want to be matriarched this family. Like, I am not the oldest child, I'm not even the oldest daughter. So, no, there's so many other people to give it to. She goes, they just fuck shit up.

unknown

I said, not my problem.

SPEAKER_00

Not my problem. Not my circus, not my monkey. Exactly. But then I realized it's my fucking circus, and these are my damn monkeys, and I can't do anything about it. Well, that's a bigger problem. I need to sell the circus. Yep. But anyway, Mona is everybody's phone call. Like, if I was a loss, I would have been like, we need to do a rater call to my mama. She'll get us off this island. She would figure it out. She you know what? She won! Yeah. National Guard would be like, listen, we were this woman called and we just had to take the picture. Like We're afraid of the white lady. Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Alright, let's let's let's finish and wrap it up.

SPEAKER_00

People are probably wondering like what the actual follow-up. Plus I had a P. Okay.

SPEAKER_01

There really wasn't any trivia for this episode. At least not anything that like I could read.

SPEAKER_00

Damn it. And you do write, you do keep notes on what to go back to, right?

SPEAKER_01

As for trivia, it says Anna Lucia and Libby's joint funeral, as well as the other events of this episode, excluding Michael's flashbacks, take place solely on Thanksgiving Day 2004. So we see that it's like the same day as going back.

SPEAKER_00

Other than that, yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, there's only two things of trivia, and that's the only one that I can read you right now.

SPEAKER_00

Okay. So as of now, there's still no past trivia that we can I haven't checked.

SPEAKER_01

Next stop. Um the next episode is Live Together Die Alone and it's the season two finale.

SPEAKER_00

Uh-huh.

SPEAKER_01

After we're done with season two, I'll go back and we'll do um we'll do a recap episode.

SPEAKER_00

And then trivia. And we'll do any past trivia again. What about like question? Did we do past trivia season one? Mm-hmm. We did? Yeah. Because that's what I feel like I feel like there's like two seasons of past trivia that we have to talk about. Maybe just my brain doesn't.

SPEAKER_01

Well there might there might be stuff from season one that I can now read. Okay. But we did it. Remember I did the the slideshow and we had it on there?

SPEAKER_00

I believe you. Okay. I honestly I I just don't remember. Doesn't mean it's in hand, I just I felt that I want the holes.

SPEAKER_01

Gotcha.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

The memory went down the hole.

SPEAKER_00

I love them. My life went down the hole. My left up went down the hole. Like as an adult, everything but went down the hole is totally different. Yeah. Love life.

SPEAKER_01

Later go down the hole.

unknown

LADY go up.

SPEAKER_01

Later go down. Later go down. Okay.

SPEAKER_00

I wonder how many people actually get our references.

SPEAKER_01

Uh next episode is Live Together, Die Alone. It's actually like a double episode.

SPEAKER_00

Okay, so next week episode is gonna be a long episode.

SPEAKER_01

So yeah, it might be it might run long. So, um and uh yeah. And then we're gonna we'll get to the season finale. And and then season two is in the books, and you made it another season.

SPEAKER_00

And how I am percentage-wise, I am okay. This is the zero degrees. This is at ninety. Nobody can see you. But you can, and that's what matters. That's all that matters. It's what you can see. And I'm like, this is ninety, a hundred, I'm like a hundred and ten.

SPEAKER_01

Alright. So as we get to the penultimate episode of season two, your ratings have steadily improved.

SPEAKER_00

Yes. The show is definitely getting better. Season one just aggravated the fuck out of me. And I get that it had to build a foundation.

SPEAKER_01

Okay, so Do you also understand why it was so important for it to be so intricate in its I do get it.

SPEAKER_00

I just don't ca I think I have the benefit of being if I wanted to, I have the benefit of watching it continuously. Mm-hmm. So I can see, you know, if I can understand the bigger picture, but I still don't think I would have watched it originally. Cause waiting a week, a week for like one. It was like because it wasn't for me, it wasn't interesting enough to keep me waiting the week. It was something like, oh, I can't wait to find out. I don't mind waiting the week. But it wasn't, it wasn't each episode it wasn't enough to keep me going. It was a little bit too much groundwork for the show. And I get why bigger picture, I still don't understand how anyone could have watched it before. Like, big props out to anyone who watched it to the original airing. But for a TV show, I just think it's a lot of groundwork. Like you have to be committed for the long run as a watcher that this is gonna get better for two, three, four, six seasons. Yeah. And no one knows and to be quite honest with you, you don't know if the show's gonna last the whole season. Right. And so that was a lot of foundation building. And a lot of maybe. For maybe. And I don't I don't think it would have been because I see so many a lot of good shows that had you and like grabbed you from and then they make it past season.

SPEAKER_01

Well, most of us were grabbed from the first season, at least from like the you know, first couple of episodes for you.

SPEAKER_00

I that's why I said well I never watched because this this this shows that I was actually watching religiously, but I just never got a finished because I worked too much. This is really before DV, like not everyone had TiVo. I think Tibo was the only one that you could record.

SPEAKER_01

No, I I never had TV, I had just D V R and I used to record.

SPEAKER_00

I didn't have D V R at my time.

SPEAKER_01

Okay, so what's still kind of I had never even heard of it, and then Alex is like, oh, call the cable company and we need to get this, and I'm like, what the fuck is that? And he's explaining, and I'm just like, do we really need that? Like and he's like, Can we just try it? And I remember after I got it, I was like, Holy fuck, where has this been all my life? And he's like, I told you, and I'm like, I think it's fucking hate you.

SPEAKER_00

I really wish I I just I love my shows, but at the same time, it did really I worked so much. I really wish I did do it then. I really wish I think it would have been beneficial. I'm now going back and watching TV shows from like 10-15 years ago that I might have missed a season. I'm like, oh shit, what did that happen? I missed the whole you're like, so yeah, I still like do you remember the event? Yes. I don't think I finished it, but yeah. No, it never I don't even think they I think they barely finished that season and they never came back. You're like, fuck in on the cliffhanger. And I'm if I don't remember correctly, I don't even think it was the end of the actual season. I think they I think there was like a if they had ordered 13, I think they had that 10. Like I don't even think they finished this season. And it was such a good show. Right, so you're like so. I think shows like so that was a lot of Hutzpah on the writers and create and the showrunners of Lost to put so much work into a show that who knows if anyone was gonna grab it. And like kudos to them for having that kind of like fuck it. This is what we're this is our plan, and this is how we're gonna do it. And it paid off. I'm not saying that it's a horrible show. I'm just saying that it didn't grab me. And it paid off. It was a great risk, kind of risk, hobby war on their part.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Really like these professionals and these experts in their field that it might accolades, but you're getting there anyway. Like who the fuck am I? But um Okay, so is Alex gonna be a guest speaker on the final episode, like last season?

SPEAKER_01

Let's see if I l oh well he was on the f the the premiere. Was he? Yeah, remember, because he ditched us to go to Florida.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, that's right, so he really wasn't on it, but he was playing.

SPEAKER_01

But he was on the the first episode of the our season two premiere episode. He wasn't on there though. Yes he was. Was he? He he ditched us for the finale. He was supposed to be on the finale, but he then he went to Florida.

SPEAKER_00

So we thought I thought it was vice versa.

SPEAKER_01

No, so we pushed him back and then he did the season two premiere. Right, and we did uh Man of Science, Man of Faith, and a and Adrift.

SPEAKER_00

Okay, okay. I just thought of vice versa, but okay, cool. I know you okay, gotcha, gotcha.

unknown

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

So let's see if I like him that day and then sure.

SPEAKER_00

I I'll do my lips the same way I did that day. Oh, well they'll like that. People who listen probably like, wait, what? Are they? Is there? But no.

SPEAKER_01

But you wouldn't want to be the first people to think that.

SPEAKER_00

No whatever. Not at all. And no one won't be the only woman they even think that of.

SPEAKER_01

Like it No, and that's true. We've gone out with friends and like, you know, whatever. And people are like you think what you want. I mean she's coming home with us. You don't need to know what's not happening.

SPEAKER_00

You don't need to know what's not happening. Nothing is happening.

SPEAKER_01

But Okay, so next episode, season two finale, live together, die alone. I like that you think it's a locked episode.

SPEAKER_00

I just think it's funny because um I I'm trying to look for like foreshadowing one of the episodes. And when I think there's times where I when I try to think about looking for the foreshadowing, I'm like, oh good guess. And then other times I just completely forget. Um, I'm like, oh yeah, I didn't think about it. But I think him walking off was a good like, hmm, what is it? Like, I think the natural course is like, okay, obviously it's gonna be the get walled and the whole micro thing, but where's Locke going? And I think it was a good so obviously I think they they're gonna have to answer that question eventually, and they're gonna have to have some kind of foreshadowing.

SPEAKER_01

What makes flashbacks? And what what do you what would you like to learn about Locke?

SPEAKER_00

How did he use the question I ask myself all the time, how did he lose use of his legs? Say that three times fast. Um like what what happened? So what happened?

SPEAKER_01

Oh right. So join us next time.

SPEAKER_00

Or don't, but you really want to because we're fun.

SPEAKER_01

Because we like having you here.

SPEAKER_00

They love us. We're funny. Ish. Ish at times.

unknown

At times.

SPEAKER_01

Oh my god, the blast from the past. I know! What is that? Look it up. Google it. Oh, you really threw me off.

SPEAKER_00

Um I'm sorry. It was a funny little segue.

SPEAKER_01

I don't know what it song in my head. Okay, um.
