Hi guys and welcome to this episode of Sassin Sips, where every episode we will be discussing and dissecting an episode of Lost in order. We are your hosts. I'm Lisa.
SPEAKER_01And I'm Agnes.
SPEAKER_02And today's episode is two for the road.
SPEAKER_01Want to get money now? What are you drinking today? I'm drinking mommy's special coffee.
unknownOh.
SPEAKER_01Okay. Special. Special. I have a beer. You listen, you cannot go wrong with a good beer.
SPEAKER_02It works. So also I just wanna I just wanna say thank you guys for um sticking with us through our technical difficulties last week. Between the storm and not having any power for a few days, I couldn't edit, we couldn't record more episodes, and I couldn't edit the episode that we had. And then I had foot surgery, so we were unable to put out the second episode. But hopefully, aside from any more glitches, we're back on track. At least till the end of season two.
SPEAKER_01At least till the end of this episode. Like at this rate, we're making through this episode, and that's the only thing, and we can only promise you that. Maybe.
SPEAKER_02Maybe. This is an Analysia episode. What'd you think?
SPEAKER_01I enjoyed this episode until the end. I mean, till like the middle-ish. I was like, hmm.
SPEAKER_02Were you surprised?
SPEAKER_01Nothing here surprises me. Oh, you know, stop already. I mean, okay, what did I expect her to? I'm like, oh shit, that was unexpected. So it was unexpected, but not surprised. That makes sense. I was like, I was like, I I this fucking roller coaster ride of a fucking show, like, has killed all sense of surprise for me. It's more like, oh, that's unexpected. It's lost. You just sit there like, oh. Okay.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, I guess I'm an idiot because when I watched it for the first time, I didn't see it coming. It's especially Libby. That was a good one. Libby was like complete shock. Oh, I know.
SPEAKER_01It was sad. And I was sad for her. I was sad for Hurley. I was just sad. And we can we talk about like the one-degree separation that each fucking character member has. And I'm not even talking about superficial passing connections. I'm talking about like, what the fuck? Remember when I told you like maybe a few episodes ago? I'm like, the fact that everyone has some random connection, you're like, what happens? How many people that you know that you know you don't know you have some kind of connection to you? Okay, fine. But some of these connections are like tangible.
SPEAKER_02I can touch. So what did you want me to say? Oh, yeah, because wait till you see uh Anna Lucia with Jack's dad. Of course I had to play it off.
SPEAKER_01I know, but but even then there was something wrong. What the odds that everyone has some kind of loose connection? But I say by the end of like I think with the end of the season, maybe by first couple episodes, season three, maybe, there would be a tangible connection between all the fucking everybody. And like I said, not just the you see Sawyer and this dude in the and the police station kind of connection. You know, not that kind of I'm talking about like, hey, we met, we talked, we shook hands kind of connection. I expect to see it. Everyone is connected by something, and there was and there was a and because they all knew each I think because of this weird connection, universe decided that they were all gonna die in the plane cross. Like lost me, well, think about it like this. Well, yeah.
SPEAKER_02As far as tangible connections go, uh-huh, you have Jack's dad, who obviously has a tangible connection to Jack. He has a connection to Anna Lucia now because I mean we don't know the depth of their relationship per se, but clearly they they were right. It was more of a distinction. They were together in in whatever sense of the word you want to have it. Right, they yeah, there was some kind of connection.
SPEAKER_01But yeah, yeah, no, but connection. Yeah. And he had Sawyer, him and Sawyer talked at that moment. You have to refresh my memory, I don't remember. Who was the guy? Which one was the guy? What's your call? No, I remember now. No, I don't remember. I don't remember. Talk it out. I'm like, I'm talking, I'm like valley myself out loud. Help me. Help me, help you, help me. Shannon at the dance studio, her friend or the co-worker, and the dad of the oh who was that? Refresh my memory.
SPEAKER_02That was the one who gave her a job as an opair. Yes. Yeah, but we don't we don't we never met him. No, like she talks about she talks about her job as an opair, and that's how she knew the song.
SPEAKER_01But French. Right, but remember at the dance studio You're banging. Damn it. The dance studio, and I think I don't I can't remember, it's it's like a fuzzy memory. That might have been a good idea.
SPEAKER_02She tells her friend that how he hit on her and he wants her to be.
SPEAKER_01We don't know who he was. Right. Okay, good. I feel like I I felt I thought I just forgot. I feel like, do we know him? Did I forget? We just don't know who it is. Right. Yet. Okay. Yet.
SPEAKER_02Shall I start the synopsis? You may. Thank you, mom.
SPEAKER_01I am older than you, aren't I? By a whole month and a half. I could hold six weeks. I'm also a granny at first. Oh fuck me.
SPEAKER_02If it makes you feel any better, my my mom was due with me in October.
SPEAKER_01You were that late? She just didn't know when she had like she took it. Well, I mean six weeks is more like we just gotta.
SPEAKER_02But you know what? But I I don't I okay, so I used to think that that was just like, you know, back then, like it was just like a best guess. And they were like, yeah, fuck it. Like, it's only like three weeks late, you know. But then after having a Maya, I'm like, oh maybe this shit is genetic. Because I'm convinced that if I ever have another kid, I'm gonna be pregnant for about 14 months. How long do elephants carry?
SPEAKER_00I think 18 months, something like that. That's funny.
SPEAKER_02Each kid was later and later.
SPEAKER_01Lisa. Are you late in life? Like, I don't remember you showing up to places late. I don't think you're late. I don't remember. If you are, it's never I don't remember.
SPEAKER_03I don't know.
SPEAKER_01I don't think we've ever made plans for you to be like, okay, I need you here at this time. I think I don't think we ever made those kind of specific plans. If we're like, okay, we're gonna be here around this time, be here, we'll be here waiting. You know what I mean? It's been fully. Are you a late person? Sometimes. Yeah, interesting.
SPEAKER_02Very interesting. Very interesting. Okay, just please. Okay, let's do flashbacks. Anna Lucia is confronted by her mother as to her whereabouts when Jason McCormick was killed. When she gets back to the garage and they show all the cop cars, did you notice? What did I miss? I saw them and I saw her coming into the car. So you see, so you see her pulling into the garage, the parking garage? Yeah. And is all the cop cars parked? Yeah. All the cars have numbers on top, and they're all the numbers of the numbers. The only numbers that you can see were 4, 8, 15, 16, 23, 42.
SPEAKER_01So this is like this is kind of like I think with I'm pretty sure with these people who died, who I still think they died. But I feel like the universe was like, okay, I want you, you, you, you, and you over there. And then but and then like use their little marinette strings and put them in the position to be in one space at one time.
SPEAKER_02Let's get back into your theory later on.
SPEAKER_00You're like off the drugs, Agnes. So go ahead. I'm ready.
SPEAKER_02Her mother takes her to the morgue where she shows Anna Lucia his body. Her mother spells out why she knows Anna Lucia killed the man who tried to kill her and accepts that there will be no proof. Her mother offers her her help, and when Anna Lucia refuses, she tells her she will have to get her help from somewhere else. Because she must respect the fact that she is a police officer. Anna Lucia gives her police badge to her mother and quits. Later, Anna Lucia is shown bored working as an airport security officer. In a bar, she meets Christian Shepard. The two commiserate, sharing how each of them have just lost their jobs with family members. Christian offers her work as his bodyguard in Sydney on the basis that she needs help in the role of fate. The two decide to adopt false names for their relationship. Anna Lucia calls Christian Tom and Christian calls her Sarah.
SPEAKER_01Now, why is the look that she made? When she said Sarah, she made this look like it meant something to her. I don't know, but it should mean something to you. Well to us. Whose name is Sarah? Someone's wife. Susan is Sarah. I get the two confused.
SPEAKER_02You know There is a Susan and there is a Sarah. Susan was Michael's ex.
SPEAKER_01And Sarah was Jack's ex.
SPEAKER_02His daughter-in-law.
SPEAKER_01Oh, shit. I didn't even realize the connection. It kind of the yeah. I'm like, yeah, Jack's, yeah. So isn't that kind of fucked up? Like he's calling her the name of his daughter-in-law. I think what holy shit. Not is it that he just wants some kind of connection to his son? As weird as it could be, or he was did he did she leave him for her fat for his father? We don't know who she left him for.
SPEAKER_02Well, okay. In Sydney, after Christian spends four days drinking, he wakes and visits Anna Lucia's room in the middle of the night to get her to take him on his mission. Still drinking, Christian visits a blonde woman in the suburbs while Anna Lucia watches from the car. The blonde woman and Christian argue at the door. He tells the woman that he pays the mortgage on her house and he has a right to see his daughter, and he starts to get violent. So now we know why he keeps going to Australia or why he keeps disappearing that he has a daughter.
SPEAKER_01Like, really, dude? I'm not surprised. He's a typical, like, because considering the man that he is, and a lot of narcissists have the fact that he's a it him having another family would not surprise anybody. Now that you cannot like that you're like, yeah.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, that's not that surprising.
SPEAKER_01No, you're like, yeah, I just surprised it took this long to show up, but yeah.
SPEAKER_02Well now we kind of also know what he was doing there. Not that it it matters as much, but but it was kind of more like, oh, okay. Right. So now and now we figure out what he was doing there and what Anna Lucia was doing there.
SPEAKER_01But I want to okay, I'll tell you after you get after you finish the the flashback.
SPEAKER_02Okay. Um Anna Lucia drags him away and they leave. Later, the two discuss what they are each running away from. Anna Lucia tries to encourage Christian to return to the States, and he refuses and suggests a drink at a bar instead. Anna Lucia is done with running and refuses, and Christian heads for the bar, nearly knocking over Sawyer in the process.
SPEAKER_01That was funny.
SPEAKER_02So I'll give you a little bit of trivia right now. This scene is the only three-way connection between the characters. Between the characters in the whole series. Cool. I mean, aside from like you flashback.
SPEAKER_01This is the only flashback.
SPEAKER_02No, no, no, but like like Jin and Sun are one. That's one that's one version, though. Right.
SPEAKER_01So like aside from yeah. Yeah, I get you. That makes sense.
SPEAKER_02Um Anna Lucia is at so actually, and then we know what Christian went on to say when he went into the bar. So and he talks about that whole thing about how he can't apologize to his son and this and that. So Right. Anna Lucia is at Sydney Airport waiting in line prior to boarding Oceanic Flight 815. Jack is at the ticket counter, earnestly telling the whole story again and again about why he needs it to be over, blah blah blah. Anna Lucia, I'm paraphrasing by the way. Anna Lucia overhears and calls her mother to tell her that she tried to get away, as far away from her as she could, but then now she just wants to come home.
SPEAKER_01So my question, not to be answered, is more like mental no question. So she drops him off at the bar. We know what happens at the bar. Next thing you know, she's at the airport on the way home, and Jack is like, I need like he Jack has already claimed the bot, like he's already made it there, and dude's dead. And he's already, you know what I mean? He's already trying to get his father home. So my question is like, how long does how well how long passed between I'm dropping you off at the bar to I'm on the plane, go I'm on my way home? Because it's not like a day to you find a body, you gotta go through the whatever legalities and red tapes and get everything ready. That takes more than 24 hours. So I I wanna know, I wanna know somehow, I don't know if it makes a difference, if it's even pertinent to the show, what happened to all of them between dropping off the bar off the boat off dropping him off at the bar and them at the airport. Like that, I'm saying I'm guessing like a week time, estimating possibly.
SPEAKER_02I don't even know if it would be that long. Um, because I'm trying to think if in Jack's episode if they said anything about how long his father had been there. At that first episode where he found him? Yeah. But then again, I'm guessing that he probably he probably died that night.
SPEAKER_01Um that's what I was thinking.
SPEAKER_02Because and then Sawyer also mentioned something about a bar fight. Remember he when he was in the police station and he was like, oh, it was a bar fight or something like that.
SPEAKER_01So I can't I just didn't know what happened. They dropped off the bar to the ho to the to the host hospital. Say I got that stuck in my brain. Airport. What I get airport in hospital, like why am I why am I confusing the two? Anyway, so I'm gonna need some flashbacks to fill in those blanks for me sometime during the series. Okay, Mr. Lost Writers? Thank you. I'm acting like it hasn't been written, like it has an air like 30 years ago, but go ahead.
SPEAKER_02On the island, Michael lies unconscious as Kate tries to revive.
SPEAKER_01How fitting lies unconscious and I was like, how fitting?
SPEAKER_02Didn't you think that that was strange in and of itself?
SPEAKER_01The way he just came rambling back, like talking about unconscious, like why would he be unconscious? It was just weird to begin. Okay, okay, so in theory, he could have he could have escaped and he could have been he could have been, I don't know, stalved or something, you know the what or whatever, or sick or infection.
SPEAKER_02Like that that's what I was thinking at first, like maybe like dehydrated or then you just pass out.
SPEAKER_01I get it. It could happen. Um doing as it's progressing, like before we get to the end, but like as you're the you know, as it's going. I really didn't think about it. I was like, I remember when she said, let's go. It's not like they just dropped him off here and left, which that you know, they picked him up and took him. Something about that whole thing didn't feel right. I couldn't put my I couldn't put my finger on him like, mm-hmm. You know, I would just like to- Yeah. It was it was like a little red flag. I was like, something doesn't fit right. I don't know what it is, but it's there.
SPEAKER_02I'll let you know when we get to the part where I really like where I remember thinking, like, wait a minute. I'll keep reading. Jack is convinced they have pushed him into the jungle, but Kay tells him Michael is alone. Jack agrees to carry him back to the hatch. Anna Lucia is cutting fruit for the prisoner and takes it to him. He won't answer anything. She says that he is different because most killers like to talk. He whispers something, she leans in close, but he attacks her and nearly chokes her. Like, you're a fucking cop, like rookie mistake. Come on.
SPEAKER_01I think since honestly, I think since he's been so unconfrontational thus far, I think she let her guard down. I don't I don't but not because we know he's up to no good. We know he's Machiavalian, and but these people aren't seeing all of him. They've seen like, you know, they just see what he does from their point of view. And I think, you know, with her interactions, he's been meek. Even though he she knows he's a liar, even though she knows he's up to no good, I don't she doesn't have an opportunity to see none of them really do to have to see to see the full picture of him. Um, because he's you know, so she she dropped her guard with you know, was it the right thing to do? But I could I could see how it's like she doesn't think he's gonna attack her, though. Like even I don't think he's never attacked anyone. Like all his games have been mind games. So yeah. True. You don't think someone weaker than you is gonna attack you. She thinks she's a I mean she is the cop and she thinks she has the upper. She thinks she's big shit. And I think most people who think they're above somebody else, that's when when they get their ass kicked. But yeah. To all our oppressors out there, watch your backs. I know. Let me gotta get Lisa started.
SPEAKER_02You heard it here first.
SPEAKER_01Lisa Lisa would chatter her inner Angela Davis.
SPEAKER_02I need a drink after that.
SPEAKER_01In celebration?
SPEAKER_02Henry snarls you killed two of us. He also says that those two were good people, that they were leaving you alone, and that you, Anna Lucia, is the killer. Locke arrives at the cell and knocks Henry unconscious with the crutch. Anna Lucia is with Libby and reluctantly explains that the guy in the hatch tried to kill her, that although she is fine, the guy in the hatch won't be. Libby asks Anna Lucia not to do anything stupid. This is the second time, I think the second time that we see them have like some sort of a c conversation. Because the first time, at least the time that I'm thinking of, is when she had after she shot Shannon and she has Sae tied up. And Libby is kind of like the voice of reason.
SPEAKER_01And so again, you know what the funny thing is, is like, does she really exist? So she's just everybody's conscious. Like, I don't know, Libby. Yeah, like like interesting. This me just being silly. Um it is funny how never mind Echo has fucking disappeared, but um once the Tailies, it's just those three left, right?
SPEAKER_02I believe so.
SPEAKER_01Damn. And it's funny when we first met them, it was like good five or six of them. Wasn't oh no, and Bernard. Well, yeah. But it's funny, like like they like they were getting killed off as they were getting to the beach. Um, it's funny how once they became there goes the universe. You, you, you're back, you're in the back, you go over here. Um God, I'm going to hell. Um, once they they really assimilated it. To the group I mean after you fucking kill Shannon. But in general, they simulate it pretty flawlessly, and I say that loosely. I say that in lost terms. It was seamless. Um because you don't see them interacting with each other much at all. It's not interacting with the survivors. It's funny the survivors and the tailies, but anyway. Like the tailies aren't meant were the tailies ever meant to survive? Because they keep getting killed. They were never called the survivors, like they're just tailies, like Ah, I just had a I just had a I just had a epiphany. But go ahead. Am I allowed to hear it? Yes, after you finish your synopsis.
SPEAKER_02Okay. Locke enters the armory wanting to know why Henry tried to kill Anna, but not him when he had the chance. Henry replies that it is because John is one of the good ones. Locke wants to know more about that, but Henry says that none of it matters now because he is going to die. Either Jack comes empty-handed and he loses his value, hence they will kill him, or Henry's people will kill him because he is not a forgiving person and Henry failed his mission. He says he was on his way over to bring Locke back when he was captured. Jack and Kate soon arrive, bringing Michael back to the hatch. What do you make of his story?
SPEAKER_01I think he's bullshit. Um, I don't know if it's all bullshit. It's short version, bullshit. Um, I still think that he he's talking about is him. Um, how much of his plan, how much of that story is false or true, I don't know, but I know ultimately I still think he is him.
SPEAKER_02So he is him, he is Henry, and what about the stuff about Locke? That he was on his way for Locke?
SPEAKER_01Um I don't know. Either that either A that could be true, or B, he's just using what he's learned about Locke against him. Ha ha ha ha ha ha. Probably the probably the latter though.
SPEAKER_02Anna Lucia approaches Sawyer to get a gun. The first time, Sawyer tells Anna Lucia to go to her buddy Jack as he has himself a gun, then sarcastically remembers that he is still out with Kate. Anna Lucia just as sarcastically calls Kate Sawyer's girlfriend, which hits a nerve. Meanwhile, Hurley asks Said about the radio. He hopes to impress Libby by imitating the hero of the movie Say Anything. Said suggests a picnic instead and tells him about the beach where he took Shannon. Fucking Doom Beach. Don't ever take your friend to that beach.
SPEAKER_01Right, because that maybe considering the the guy friends in my life, I'm definitely taking them there. Like, alright, asshole. You want to play gays like I don't think for your ass. Hurt my feelings.
SPEAKER_02Later, as Sawyer is walking through the jungle, he hears Analusia following him. When he stops to confront her, she again unsuccessfully demands a gun and then attacks him. After a struggle, he overpowers her and she responds by seducing him. As she dresses, Anna Lucia warns Sawyer that if he tells anyone about them, she will kill him. Hurley is grabbing food from the beach pantry and reacts guiltily when Libby sees him. He reveals that it is food for a picnic he was planning with her. Analusia returns to the hatch, and when Jack asks her about her head wound, Locke covers for her and says that it was his fault. Michael revives and tells Jack, Kate, Analusia, and Locke that he found the others, saying that there were only twenty two of them living squatted lives in caves and canvas tents and teepees, and that they have a hatch of their own with only two armed guards. He says he didn't see Walter Cindy or any of the kids, but that he will lead them back there. Jack and Locke discuss this and then decide it's time to get the guns from Sawyer. Kate accompanies them, leaving Michael and Anna Lucia in the hatch. This is when the red flags went up for me. Because he starts talking about how they're so uncivilized and they Yeah. And Kate had just finished telling Jack about how their m their um Oh was the hatch. About like Yeah, that um wow. Um what is the goddamn word? Mature, not mature, um clever, mature. Things that are the word that I can't think of for 25,000, please.
SPEAKER_01Oh what 25,000? Um I know, oh my god, they are fuck! We're both two morons. Fuck, advanced? Yeah, but it wasn't that word, right?
SPEAKER_02I hate this shit. Smart sign. I feel like it starts with an S or a sound. Sophisticated!
SPEAKER_01Yes, yes, yay! Yay, you watch for $5,000. I got monopolistic here.
SPEAKER_02Okay, so yeah, so this is when the my my bell started to ring because Kate is like, Jack, they're sick they're sophisticated, and and even in the scene from Claire's flashback when we see Ethan and the other guy talking.
SPEAKER_01Come on, like you like right. They live in tents.
SPEAKER_02I was like And how do they only have two guns when they took all those guns off of our survivors?
SPEAKER_01I think he was really counting on uh I don't listen, Michael's not an evil genius. Let's get that right. Let's get that this just so we're all on the same page. And two, I think he was just really counting on uh people's initial reaction, him coming back and not paying attention. And obviously he had plans, so it wasn't a he was he was it wasn't a long-term thing, it was something short-term. Do we had to do like but he wasn't playing the long con. So he's no Sawyer. No, and I think what he said it was effective for the plan that he had in place. If I got that out right.
SPEAKER_03Mm-hmm.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I can't I'm not sophisticated today.
SPEAKER_02Hurley and Libby set out for the picnic, but Hurley gets lost and they wind up back where they started, with gin cleaning fish nearby. Libby suggests that they have the picnic right there, but Hurley has forgotten to bring blankets or anything to drink. Libby says she'll get the blankets and he can get some wine. Hurley jokes that if he gets drunk, he'll remember where he knows her from. Sawyer is reading a manuscript, and Jack throws it into the fire and demands to be taken to the gun. Sawyer goes for his own gun.
SPEAKER_01My heart hurt. I was like, I know. And it's like he just go get in the book. Like, you know what I mean? It's like you ever know. Right.
SPEAKER_02Sawyer goes for his own gun and finding it missing, realizes that Anna Lucia stole it when they had sex. Locke, suddenly realizing why she would do that, informs Jack about Henry attacking Anna. He's like, uh, I gotta tell you something.
SPEAKER_01By the way, FYI FYI, by the way, um this happened.
SPEAKER_02In the hatch, Anna Lucia gives Henry a knife and instructs him to free himself. He does, and as she points a gun at him, he says, So this is it. Anna Lucia says it is. Later, she is shown sitting morosely. Michael talks with her and she tells him about Henry, about how he tried to kill her and how she couldn't bring herself to kill him. Michael offers to do the job for her, and she gives him the gun. Michael looks at the gun somberly, says I'm sorry, then shoots Anna Lucia in the heart, killing her instantly. Libby walks in holding blankets for the picnic with Hurley, and she is shocked to see Michael with the gun. Startled, he shoots her twice in the abdomen through the blankets, and she collapses with the look of shock and betrayal on her face. Michael then opens the door to Henry's cell. The two look at each other. Michael, shaking with fear and shock, deliberately shoots himself in the shoulder. And that's how the episode ends, just like with the sound of the gunshot. Right.
SPEAKER_01So my epiphany. Not really your epiphany, it's just strengthening my my idea that everyone dies on this island has reached their goal. They've reached what they were supposed to reach, and they actually move on from Lost Island Purgatory. Told you that, told you that they're all dead already. They've been dead. So, yeah, the plane crash actually killed them. So, Libby had her moment where she's when she became a like she whatever she had to solve within herself, she solved. And then she was killed. Boom became a better person. Forgot what it was, but I remember like, oh body when Boone becomes a better person, or his eyes are open to like his He he let Shannon go. Right, thank you. And I and I think and also that part where he saw how much of a fucking bitch baby he was killed his fucking nanny. Anyway, I think everyone who happens to die they've reached their they're allowed to go on. Now Libby, maybe her maybe her point was just to because she you get the impression that she had a crush on Hurley in the hospital. So maybe this was just like her, she was only supposed to make that connection. Or maybe it wasn't supposed to happen. Maybe just Michael accidentally shoot her. I don't know. That's I haven't I haven't figured that one out yet.
SPEAKER_02But yeah. So yeah. Well what if what if instead of them being in purgatory and then dying or how do you even how do you even word it in your scenario? Like then they move on, right? Once they've Yes, they've and like they're So what if they're just alive and do the same thing? Why do they have to be dead?
SPEAKER_01Polar fucking bears on an island. Come on! Okay radio signal that goes on for 16 years, but no one hears it. Like come on.
SPEAKER_02Alright. Can we do trivia?
SPEAKER_01Yes.
SPEAKER_02The title, Two for the Road, refers to Anna Lucia and Christian Shepherd going to Australia, as well as both Anna Lucia and Libby being shot by Michael. There was also a cut line from the bar scene in which Christian says, I always have two drinks for the road because it's good luck and I don't want to crash.
SPEAKER_01Did he ever have two drinks?
SPEAKER_02Probably had a lot more than that.
SPEAKER_01One for the money, two for the sh. That was just stuck in my head.
SPEAKER_02I guess in the theme of the title, it could also kind of be like his plan was to shoot Anna Lucia because she was the one who was guarding Henry. But then Libby kind of snuck up on them and he shot her twice. Right. So two for the road.
SPEAKER_01Oh. Just think of like uh yeah, like the second the second kill was two for the road or two bullets for the road. Either way. Okay, yeah, I didn't see it though. Interesting, very interesting.
SPEAKER_02When Christian talks to Anna Lucia, he tells her m more than once about fate and how that's like the reason why they met, and that's the reason why that's when they have to go talk to uh the woman. So like fate, quote unquote, is a is a big theme in the episode.
SPEAKER_01The episode the series.
SPEAKER_02Whatever. Um Anna Lucia is talking to Libby, she tells him the guy in the hatch tried to kill me. Later, she is killed by the guy in the hatch, even though it's a different guy.
SPEAKER_01That's kind of fucked up.
SPEAKER_02Right.
SPEAKER_01Damn.
SPEAKER_02That's still a guy in the house in the hatch. And he's telling her, Henry is telling her about how she's a killer all while he's trying to kill her.
SPEAKER_01I found that to be funny.
SPEAKER_02We got the doomed beach strikes again, even though they didn't make it, but where did Jack get the gun from? Like I'm like, I can't keep up now.
SPEAKER_01I gave up trying to figure out the gun situation.
SPEAKER_02Didn't they have one gun? They did, but like but remember Sawyer took the gun.
SPEAKER_01Oh the stash.
SPEAKER_02So but he had one on him.
SPEAKER_01I don't know.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, I don't remember either.
SPEAKER_01I don't remember where that gun was from. I think they I think he happened to have one or something when Sawyer took the stash. Like I think he happened to have like I think it was like on him or something. Maybe. I don't know.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, I don't remember either.
SPEAKER_01I don't think the writers remember.
SPEAKER_02And then um when Anna Lucia meets Christian, she meets him at a bar just the same way she met Jack.
SPEAKER_01Jack. Those airport bars. I'm hanging out the wrong place. That guy's like hanging out at the airport. Well, not anymore.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, not anymore because now you need a ticket. Oh well aside from everything else. But in order to get that far, you need a ticket.
SPEAKER_01Good point.
SPEAKER_02Well, you can just buy a cheapy one-way ticket somewhere.
SPEAKER_01I can go to oh, I just hang out at Home Depot. All the men either A got a job or own a home. Either way, I'm with it. Okay. They need to have Home Depot Mingles night. I would I would prefer Lowe's, but there's no Lowe's around here. No? No, I have to go to Chicago. I'll leave I have to leave Wisconsin. Yeah. Um figure. Um, but yeah, they need to have like a home improvement singles mingles night. Okay. I think I I can listen, that shit people will flock to that shit. That's like the mingle, that's like the single part, like that, that's like the bar scene of the 30s and 40s. Low's home improvement stores is where you want to go to meet your future husband.
SPEAKER_02So anything else before we wrap it up? Nope. I think that's it.
SPEAKER_01If they could see our faces, like Lysa's out of Tim were laughing at each other's facial expressions. Is that what we're saying?
SPEAKER_02Well, that's that's pretty much the end of this episode. The next episode is question mark. The next episode is punctuation.
SPEAKER_01My my whole life is a question mark.
SPEAKER_02Um, and we get into Mr. Echo's backstory. Echo! I like Echo. Mm-hmm. So that'll be good. The next episode is pretty good, I think. Um so including that one, there's only three episodes left for season two. Is question mark, three minutes, and then live together, die alone.
SPEAKER_01I have a question. Any is everyone excited about our end of season um fan favorite episode? Like who out there is anyone looking forward to that? Or am I just am I the only one looking forward to it? Because I've been asking about the fan favorite episode since season since episode one of the season.
SPEAKER_02We gotta have to call Jamar again.
SPEAKER_01Maybe his video will work. Yeah, right. Put out that call. I think we put out yeah.
SPEAKER_02Mm-hmm. And we'll do we'll do a recap and we'll do you want to do games again? I still have the index card sitting on my dresser.
SPEAKER_01Okay, to be quite honest, um I I don't know if I have enough money in my budget to buy that amount of alcohol.
SPEAKER_02Girl. Figure it out.
SPEAKER_01She said, no, not the oh, don't be silly. No, figure it out. Get the alcohol money.
SPEAKER_02Just a mouthwash. I don't know what to tell you.
SPEAKER_01These this is how my bitches roll, y'all. We will hold the other one's nose and pour those lemon drops down your throat.
SPEAKER_00That's true friendship. That's love. Okay, let's say. Listen, I don't expect anything less. Like all right. But did you die?
SPEAKER_02Well, Anna Lucia and Libby.
SPEAKER_01I mean, but that's not how we roll like that. But we roll okay. I can't even play the team cakes. I am such an Oreo. I'm not even an Oreo cookie. I'm just a straight Lorna Dune.
SPEAKER_02Like, I'm just after my surgery, they gave me some of Lorna Dune shortbread cookies. They were fucking good.
SPEAKER_01They're all fucking good, aren't they? I love all cookies. Okay, like I know with with like race detentions being high and everyone's judging everybody for everything. Leave me the fuck alone, okay? That's for everyone uh leave me the fuck alone. I said what I said.
SPEAKER_02Alright, let's let's let's get you off of this. So, question mark, echo. What are you hoping for? Anything you want to to see? Anything you want to learn?
SPEAKER_01I'm so sorry. Um, well, quite obvious. We gotta figure out what happened after his brother died. Like, where did that take his life? Obviously, we know where it took his life, like where like we know like what the end result was, but like how did it get there? How did he become Mr. Echo, the man of faith? And to be quite honest with you, I don't think he actually, even when he was a warlord and he was kenneth as a child, we you know this I don't believe he truly lost his faith. I I think he it might have been pushed down, it might have been um just something he didn't show up. I don't think he actually lost that foundation he had. But that's my personal opinion, because I like this to echo. So, yes, what happened after the whole thing at the airstrip? And how did he do I want to know how he ended up in Australia? I don't know. Do I wanna know? Yeah, I wanna know how he ended up in Australia. I don't want to take two or three episodes and a half a season to figure it out. So, yes, tell me tell me how he ended up in Australia.
SPEAKER_02Okay. I'm not gonna confirm nor deny if any of that stuff will happen. But but I I think you will like the episode. Okay, I think you will enjoy it.
SPEAKER_01Okay, mom.
unknownOkay.
SPEAKER_02While you wait, we ask, as we always ask, that you please help us out by supporting us. You're Stella?
SPEAKER_01Yeah, that's what made me laugh. The timing was like she never barks, like she will say, Yeah, help my mom out.
