SPEAKER_00

Hi, and welcome to the Sassin Sips podcast. Today we are talking about reunion season one. Episode. I don't even know what fucking number this is, but it's lucky number 13. Oh, right, duh. There were 13 episodes. Oh my god. Um, it is 1998. I am Lisa, and today I am sipping on, as usual, the red wine.

SPEAKER_01

Not raw, not not a bad choice. And I'm Agnes, and I am sipping on a Long Island iced tea.

SPEAKER_00

Ooh, you're doing a different this this I was gonna say this year. But you know, this year, 1998.

SPEAKER_01

Yes. It's yeah, I got a couple of those canned beverages. Oh, okay. They were on sale, so I'm like, screw it. That it's quick, it's easy, they're just for the recording. So I just like pop one open.

SPEAKER_00

And by the end of this episode, I'm gonna be kind of twisted. Oh, I hope so. I have one hot take.

SPEAKER_01

Okay, let me hear it. Ah that's your hot take. That was it. Yeah. Um, it's funny you say that because my hot take was um seriously. I was like, fuck. Yeah. So can we um message some of the actors? That's it. And like, hey, I what like how does Sam die?

SPEAKER_00

I just want it Oh, you can't take the blur off for a second. Oh, yeah, duh.

SPEAKER_01

We have this conversation at least once a week.

SPEAKER_00

I know.

SPEAKER_01

Um for me. Reach out to active staff, maybe listen. I'm going to ask you if I can, because I already have it pulled up on our Assassin Sips Instagram page. I messenger, uh like, hey, I would have uh okay.

SPEAKER_00

So I'm gonna tease this. Okay, so um I love a good tease. Yeah. So if you're listening to this episode, we are gonna talk about the final episode. And while Agnes and I do our legwork to try to reach out to everyone and anyone who may be able to offer some insight on what the future of this show may have been. I I have started to do some deep dives and I've found some information. I did. I found some information. I'm gonna hold on to it for now because I'm not sure how accurate it is. And I don't wanna, you know, I don't want to speculate too much. I want to continue going down that rabbit hole.

SPEAKER_01

We're not seeing in. It's fine.

SPEAKER_00

No, no, no, I know.

SPEAKER_01

We're throwing allegedly okay.

SPEAKER_00

But with that being said, I think that even though this is the final actual episode, you and I will do like a recap for the whole series, and then we can talk about all of the things that we found and hopefully be like, yes. And next week we'll be talking to uh, you know, Dave Annable, who plays Aaron.

SPEAKER_01

Or Will Estees, who played Will.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. Or Detective Marjorino.

SPEAKER_01

He pisses me off. His detective worked. Well, his character, yeah. But the actor is great, yeah. The actor is great, but the character pisses me off because well, I think he did, dude. You have no evidence.

SPEAKER_00

But you know what? You know what? He was slick this episode because at the end, he had. He had and and he had the evidence, but he didn't test it. Like, what are you wrestling? Well, like, you know what I mean? Yes and no, right? But you don't know what that butt's gonna bring. No, I know. But it's just it was like, okay, oh, I see what you did. That was smart. I don't know if it's a little premature, but also it got me rethinking, like, what the fuck now? But we'll talk about it, okay. Also, just side note if you have theories or anything about this series, definitely send them to us if we get them in on time or before we record the next episode. Well, we'd love to include them. So the episode opens and it is the present. Detective Marjorino arrives to the loft. You know, he's got a few more questions. He says the witnesses saw a black Mercedes at the scene of the crime. And then he's like, You'd you'd be surprised, right? You flash a bag, and I got into the garage. It looks like new windshield, new oil. Uh-huh.

SPEAKER_01

Another thing, that all would be thrown out of court because there's no warrant.

SPEAKER_00

But like he said, plain sight. You know, to he didn't, he does. I mean, I don't, I don't know.

SPEAKER_01

I think But once again, his evidence is nothing, there is no actual circumstances. Circumstantial. It's all circumstantial. And he said, noke, and how does he know it's been clean, you know what I mean? You don't know without none of the it's so I know it's TV. I'm doing a Lisa. Mm-hmm. I'm doing a Lisa. None of it leads to where he was at. Like, let's be real. Like, any lawyer would be like, are you out of your fucking mind? Everything would have been thrown out. His case would have been ruined. Abby and um what are the other lawyers in Law and Order would have been like, that's it, you need to get fired. Like all the yeah, all the lawyers in Lawrence were like, um, yeah, no.

SPEAKER_00

Mm-hmm.

SPEAKER_01

Okay, I'm just rant over.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, but you know what? Like, that just made me think of something. Because while I agree with you that he didn't, he looked like he didn't have a warrant, looking in a garage, which is, I mean, it's not a public space, but it is a public space. As long as he's not going into the car. But then again, how did he know about the oil if he went into the car? Exactly. That brings up a good point. Everything he like all the good evidence, you wouldn't need to have for actual evidence from inside the car later, but I assume once he must have gotten evidence. He went into the car. Like but I'm thinking that by the time the ends of the episode, because we know that it's not that same moment, it's like later in the day, at least, or the next day. Maybe the fact that he has a black Mercedes, the fact that it has a new windshield, even though circumstantial, it might be, it might have been enough for a warrant to inspect the car. I don't know, I'm just saying it might have been, but I don't know. If you're a cop, feel free to weigh in.

SPEAKER_01

Yes, we know it's a TV show, but it just it just the impression, let me go by the impression. The impression at the moment was he got everything prematurely. He arrested Henry prematurely. There's no way he could have tested, even if he had a warrant. Oh, even if he had a warrant, no way he could have got all that stuff tested because in 1998, the same day to arrest Henry.

SPEAKER_00

Well, he doesn't, I don't think he ever says that it was tested. But okay, I say about fingerprints.

SPEAKER_01

Once again, you can't get that that quickly, the same, you can't get it that quickly.

SPEAKER_00

Well, fingerprints, maybe. 98? I'm talking about backlogs. No, no, no, but yeah, but lack of fingerprints, you can see very quickly. If you can't if you can't find a fingerprint, there's nothing to test.

SPEAKER_01

Exactly, but that's that still doesn't give you reason to arrest anyone. You still don't have evidence to arrest anyone.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, yeah. I mean, it's just like anything. Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

At most, not enough to arrest him. So it's still like I said, it's TV and they're trying to get it to move. It just irks me that it's so blatant.

SPEAKER_00

Well, that's the thing with this whole series. Yes, yes, is that it it it moves fast because of the way it's written, and a lot of it is like, yeah, okay, sure. Um, anyway, we go now to 1998, and we find out that Will has hired a private investigator to find Amy who is having a hard time. Will's got this giant map, and it's like every state is like, you know, crossed off, crossed off. He leaves for a meeting, he runs into Sam, and he's like, you know, I don't want to talk to you unless you know where Amy is. Okay, we get the picture. Meanwhile, Aaron shows up to Craig's campaign office and he's like, we need to talk about your 30th birthday. Craig is like, um, uh, what what what would I even do with the party? Like it's been 10 months since Sam, who Carla maybe will know. And Aaron's like, don't worry. You know, just send the kids to your parents and leave the planning to me. Guest list problems? No problem. Hey, staff, who wants to go to a party? Dumbest invites ever. Like, do you want to party with your campaign staff? I sure as hell don't. Not that I have a campaign or a staff, but I don't want to party with them if I did.

SPEAKER_01

I don't want to party with half the people I actually know intimately. So you're right, I I I agree with you.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. At this point, Carla starts some fancy new job. She's like a photo editor. And as she's being introduced to Steph, she is introduced to Paul. Now, of course, you knew he was coming back by the previously on. I know it's TV. But when he looks at her, now they could they pretend not to know each other. It's like, oh, hi, nice to meet you. And she has this look of genuine fear on her face. And that lady who I don't know her name, but that introduces them is a fucking moron to not to see, to not catch it.

SPEAKER_01

I agree.

SPEAKER_00

She looks like she saw a ghost and abuses for the ghost.

SPEAKER_01

Job or no job. In 1998, it was easier to get a job than it is today. I would have turned around and hightailed it out. I mean, granted, she needs to stay to pro to prolong the storyline. But I would have been like, you know what, piece, see there bye. I'm out. But that's just me.

SPEAKER_00

Well, he approaches her, I mean, privately, and he's like, We need to talk. I'll leave the door open if you want. First of all, your office is made out of fucking glass. Door, no door. It's not the point. And he's like, I've changed, and just blah, blah, blah. And even Carla tunes him out, and we see her notice a picture of a young girl in his office. She she probably left there and and ran, like actually ran to tell Sam, who is unsure. And she's like, no, it's definitely her. And she's like, and I'll figure it out. So Carla's like, cool. My plan is to snoop through an unhinged, abusive guy's thing so that I can get answers.

SPEAKER_01

I mean, to be fair, we know she got some balls to begin with.

SPEAKER_00

That's true. I mean, I probably would have done it too.

SPEAKER_01

So I wasn't that scene, it wasn't so outlandish, considering it was the least outlandish thing in this episode.

SPEAKER_00

Jenna is offered a movie in New Zealand. But she'd have to be there for at least six months. She wants to talk to Aaron because they've been living together, but since the girls have gone, she's like, I don't know, it kind of feels like we're not a family and we're like roommates, but we're supposed to be together, like blah, blah, blah.

SPEAKER_01

How off topic, on topic, off topic, how is it that Aaron, who is so in love with these women growing up, and he is a great guy. He's a horrible partner. Horrible. He's just not a good partner. We saw it with um Pascal, and you thought we would learn his lesson. No, he's not a good thing with Jenna. Like, he's just not a good relationship partner. Best guy for a friend. Absolutely. He's not a bad guy.

SPEAKER_00

He's just yeah, so she she kind of wants some definition of the relationship. She's debating whether or not she should go for the movie. And he's just like, can we table it for better time? You know, I've really got to work on this catering. Right, because that's important. Obviously. When you're throwing a party for your staff, clearly the catering is an important aspect.

SPEAKER_01

Roll my eyes. I think they can hear your eyes rolling. I hope so. They did.

SPEAKER_00

So now Sam runs off to tell Will about Amy, and he is like, let's go. She's like, she tells him that Amy is living in a small town in Maine, and he literally is like, get in the car, bitch, we're going. Meanwhile, Craig is having his party, and some young staffer comes up to him, introduces herself. She's coming on to him big time. Jenna is striking up a conversation with some guy who just seems like a fan. I'm not really sure what else he is. And then Aaron notices and gets jealous. Like typical. You couldn't be bothered to notice what she needed from you before. Oh, but now she's talking to some guy. And she, I mean, yeah, she was a little flirty. But okay. When you were like, I don't know, let's not, who cares what we are? You need to worry about catering, but now you're worried about what you are. Somebody spills a drink on Craig, so he goes to his room to change, and lo and behold, this little staffing bitch, Courtney, is in his bed. Whoa. Boundaries. Number one, what the fuck are you doing in my bedroom? And number two, get the fuck off of my bed. That's for me and my dog.

SPEAKER_01

And then maybe your husband. I noticed you said me and my dog.

SPEAKER_00

Um, and she's like, Do you like my earrings? They're from India. I forgot what she said that they represent, but okay, lady. Aaron goes to Jenna and he's like, So am I allowed to know the rules of this game? And she's like, let's table it for a better time.

SPEAKER_01

That was amazing.

SPEAKER_00

In the room, Craig is starting to get busy busy with Courtney. And and my god, like she's already got, I mean, he already had taken his shirt off because he was gonna change. But man, she must have taken her clothes off quick. And she she's pawing all over him. And he's just like, I'm not ready. I thought I was, but I'm not. So he leaves the room and then he goes and chugs red wine. Who chugs red wine? Like he pours himself and chugs. Red wine is for sipping, for enjoying.

SPEAKER_01

Unless you like stress the fuck out, you take anything with alcohol and just down that bitch. I've been there.

SPEAKER_00

I'm sure you could have a shot of something. That's true. Or even a beer. I don't know. Like, like I see people chug wine on TV, and I'm just like, why would you want to? I don't know. Maybe I'm just being judgy.

SPEAKER_01

I've done it in tempt of times of need. Like, ugh. I've done it in times of need. Because, you know, I don't always I don't keep for me personally. That's a party. That's different.

SPEAKER_00

But that's the difference, right? Like if you're a big thing.

SPEAKER_01

You don't have anything on you're right.

SPEAKER_00

I'm not asking for wine to chuck.

SPEAKER_01

No. Dire need, you like, I'll take anything at oh, that's a really pretty bottle.

SPEAKER_00

Right?

SPEAKER_01

I like that.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. Um, anyway, okay, sorry. Um, so Aaron, at this point, Aaron leaves because of his issues with Jenna. And I love Jenna. She's just standing there holding a piece of cake, like, oh well. Like, bye, bitch. It was pretty.

SPEAKER_01

It was cut so pretty, too. You could tell it was just a prop. It was pretty.

SPEAKER_00

Courtney is leaving and she's like, I don't know, she's looking for her jacket. She's throwing the other jacket on the floor. She finds a jacket, she leaves. At this point, Sam and Will are on the road. They're in Massachusetts. Sam wants to stop for the night. She's like, We're gonna get there at 3 a.m. And then what? You're gonna wake her up? Like, let's just stop. So they stop, they get their hotel rooms. He comes to her room and he wants to ask her about gifts for Amy. When did he have time to shop? Like they look like they're in the middle of nowhere and suddenly there's stores. Okay, I know it's TV show, shut up, but that was my same question.

SPEAKER_01

So and it's not like they pulled up into the the motel like in the middle of the day, but then go to like a nearby. It was the middle of the night. Right.

SPEAKER_00

She mentioned she's like, first of all, even if they're leaving the city and they're already in Massachusetts, that's at least three hours for if you've ever driven through the Bronx, okay? It like in the best case, right? And then she's gonna be a little bit more.

SPEAKER_01

And then we're gonna wake up and three o'clock in the morning. So yeah, so it's at least 11 o'clock at night.

SPEAKER_00

What what the fuck is open in West Nowhereville, Massachusetts?

SPEAKER_01

And then it has to and it has to be the same night because she's taking her stuff off, getting ready for bed. So it's not like it's the next day he popped out. So yeah, none of this makes sense. I I caught it too, and I was like, and and even later, he's like, Oh, I better get back to my room.

SPEAKER_00

Uh, we're gonna have a long day tomorrow. I need to get my sleep.

SPEAKER_01

So that's it, yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, it was weird. But Sam is like, oh, I saw a store. Do you want to go get some beer? Off to go.

SPEAKER_01

I mean, I can get maybe uh like a bodega type store being 24-7, but a store to buy like adults and toys 7-Eleven. Yeah, but or a Wawa. His Wawa.

SPEAKER_00

His purchase was just By the way, Wawa is a yes store.

SPEAKER_01

Always, yes.

SPEAKER_00

No, no, no. I mean like in my new way to do it. Oh, it's a yes store. It's a yes store.

SPEAKER_01

I am so enamored with their pizza. It would have been a yes store regardless. I'm sorry, Lisa.

SPEAKER_00

Back at the loft. I I don't know, I guess he's cleaning up. He's he's alone in the apartment. You see, like there's a mess, there's, you know, whatever. Courtney comes back, and this bitch is drunker than Heg Seth on a Thursday. He's like, um, you, you need to sleep it off. I'll give you an hour, I'm calling you a cab. Back up in Massachusetts, they're in the room, they're drinking their beer, they're having a chat about the past and what could have been. And then they make out just a bit. Because I guess they can't be alone and have conversations about anything without it leading to that. And then he's like, that's when he's like, Oh, uh, we got a big day to get tomorrow. I better go back to my room. At the loft, Craig is like, come on, you gotta go. It's a long ride to Oyster Bay, oh, it's an expensive cab. But he soon finds out you can't wake up a dead girl.

SPEAKER_01

She dead. She's dead. She's gone. She's dead dead.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. And when he realizes this, right away, you think, 911, help. No. No.

SPEAKER_01

He's a politician, so that's the last thing you think of. You think of, let me call my dad slash fixer.

SPEAKER_00

And then when the dad slash fixer comes in with his goons, he's like, we should call the cops. And his dad is right, you didn't call the cops, you called me.

SPEAKER_01

So this is what you get.

SPEAKER_00

Meanwhile. Hey, I don't know what I was writing. This is Paul checks in with Paul at work. Paul checks in with Carla. And he wants to get together. She's like, I'm married. He's like, no, no, no, no, no. Like, you misunderstand. Like, I just wanna, you know, he's like, we were good together and blah, blah, blah. And I just, and she's just like, no. She wanted to say fuck off, but she said no. Meanwhile, they're in Dunegan, Dunigan, Maine. They're looking for 303, house number 303. And they're like, but it should be right here. Yes, it's that big file of pile of fucking rubble with with with the pillar that says 303. It's I found it. If you guys are there, like, duh, which way did it go, George? It's right there.

SPEAKER_01

So obviously something happened. It's not like it was a vacant lot.

SPEAKER_00

It was I know, like you could see the remnants of of what was there.

SPEAKER_01

Can I have I'm gonna interject? I think I know why the series didn't continue.

SPEAKER_00

Please.

SPEAKER_01

The writers suck. I said it.

SPEAKER_00

The outline was good, but the the delivery sucked ass. Yeah, it need it just needed work. It needed like I I I think that they were not realizing just how smart audiences can be. And when it's a good thing.

SPEAKER_01

And they're easily turned off. Because even if you can't place your finger as to what bothers you, you know, like eh, this isn't this isn't from me. Also, completely off topic, your boobs are looking nice today. Nice. Love them. Okay. Thank you. I wish everyone could see your boobs like I can.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, you don't want me to use this video?

SPEAKER_01

Oh, absolutely.

SPEAKER_00

You can use it.

SPEAKER_01

You don't have to adjust your camera just to get some boobs. Hold on. Okay. Okay, boobs. Okay. Head back.

SPEAKER_00

Palahoff girls sweats.

SPEAKER_01

Nice. You have a really nice neck too.

SPEAKER_00

Oh my thank you. Even the eczema and all.

SPEAKER_01

What did I tell you? Stop. Take it in. Accept. Thank you.

SPEAKER_00

And once again I failed. So Carla at work makes a complaint about Paul. And her boss is like, but his background check was so clean. And she's like, um, okay. So the boss is like, well, you know, if you really want to go through with this, I have to warn you, but we'll proceed.

SPEAKER_01

I hate that warning. And here we are in 2025. We still get the warning. The warning. The warning. In 2025, we still get the warning.

SPEAKER_00

Do you think men get a warning?

SPEAKER_01

To stop being a few.

SPEAKER_00

No, no, no. Like if they if they if they file a grievance against somebody at work, do you think that they get a warning? I know it's not as likely as the other way around.

SPEAKER_01

I think depending, may I think, you know, I could see them like I'm, you know, it was like a big wig. They're like, you should you want to do this? But in general, I don't think so. Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

So in Maine, Sam and Will go to the sheriff and they're like, we demand answers. And the sheriff is like, I'll give you answers. Again, the most unrealistic thing. You think that this small town sheriff is just gonna come and answer to you? Do you think that that's what's gonna happen? Because if you did, you'd be right, okay? He is way too liberal giving out information. They're like, we have a right to know. And they're like, well, so the other guy wanted to, oh, was his name Paul? Yeah, it was. Like, you should have just asked for his social security number and his mother's maintenance while you were at it. Really get everything from him. The sheriff is like, they both died in a fire. It was smoke and inhalation. And Will is like, I don't believe you, prove it. And instead of saying, Who the fuck are you and asking these questions about and why do you want to know? He's like, No problem, here's the file, pictures and everything, lab reports, whatever. Another thing that pissed me off, too, is just the impossibility of a cop just handing over information at willy-nilly to people you don't, big city folk at that, right? And they're standing there like demanding information. You don't know who the fuck they are. They told you, oh, I'm so and so. You didn't ask for ID, you didn't sit them down, you didn't say, Listen, let's hold on a second. Like, what is going on here? No, you were just like, cool, ask me questions, demand things. I'd like to answer you. No.

SPEAKER_01

And I have a theory on this. Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

It's way too easy. So, what's the theory?

SPEAKER_01

Because, okay. First of all, like this is just stupid. Then, like, it's a little easy. And I'm thinking, are you ready? Okay, hear me out.

SPEAKER_00

I think I think we're thinking the same thing. I think we okay.

SPEAKER_01

So obviously, Paula found Paula.

SPEAKER_00

Maybe Paula maybe now he is Paula. Who knows?

SPEAKER_01

Paul found them, I think, because they were already ingrained in this nice little small town where everyone knows everyone. She told the sheriff, this is my story. He found us. And it would set up there, the fire and the pictures are all set up to get Paul away from them. And then Megan and Amy and some later on episode, probably season, probably episode 21 out of 22, are gonna pop up again.

SPEAKER_00

That's exactly what I thought. And you know what I thought? I was like, well, damn, they should have just named this small town county in Maine, Cabot Cove, because that sheriff was giving me uh Cabot Cove sheriff vibes. I mean, if you know, you know.

SPEAKER_01

If you know, you know, right?

SPEAKER_00

I can't think of his name in the show, but yeah.

SPEAKER_01

I'm looking at his face in my head.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, yeah, yeah. But but his his speaking manner, I was like, oh, you are so uh what's his face? I can't think of it.

SPEAKER_01

I think because it was so easy, and he was like, here, here are the pictures.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

And the fact that everything around Amy and Megan was so like burnt to a crisp, but you could still see their faces.

SPEAKER_00

Well, he did say it was smoke inhalation.

SPEAKER_01

But okay, you die of smoke inhalation, but if everything's still burning around you, you end up burning too.

SPEAKER_00

Potentially. I I'm not I feel like she was just like, No, no, no, I I do agree with you that it happened the way you said it happened. I'm just saying that I don't think it necessarily has to end up with them being burned.

SPEAKER_01

Well, and based on the pictures, because everything that she was on because they could have died very quickly, and and and the fire could have been put out before it reached their body, but But the thing that they're actually on, like the surrounding areas was burnt to a crisp. It's like everything was burnt to the crisp and they were put on top.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, but I definitely don't think that they're dead.

SPEAKER_01

No, but basically Or at least not Amy. It can't be because not Amy, but I really think it was set up so because the fact that he had a picture of, you know, he would honestly why did they just leave the country? At the time they had an airplane, they had a flight, they could have gone anywhere.

SPEAKER_00

Well, maybe did they have um new identifications?

SPEAKER_01

That's a good point.

SPEAKER_00

Because maybe that's like a private plane, you got a little bit more leeway with the manifest and this and that. But to leave a country, you're right, you might it it might have been an obstacle. I'm not sure. I don't know how that works. I don't live that life.

SPEAKER_01

That's a good point. But since it's TV and they give you all this other shit that makes no sense, she thought you would have just had her fly out of country.

SPEAKER_00

Go to Canada.

SPEAKER_01

Never to be seen again, right? You know what I mean?

SPEAKER_00

Right. That's when they liked us. You could have went.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

No, it's just like, uh even the fucking penguins are like, fuck them. We gotta worry about invasions from penguins now. Can I be on their side? I'm gonna march with them. My animals are all black and white. We could pretend to blend in.

SPEAKER_01

I'm black and white. I'm a penguin. Or a skunk. Or depends how you look at it.

SPEAKER_00

Or in the morning, I could be a raccoon. Raccoon. All right. This next scene. Detective Marjorino is watching Henry with his friends outside of school. He's watching him smoke and he's eating a pizza. Okay? Detective Margarino is a New Yorker. He's eating his pizza wrong. Can anyone in this class tell me why he's eating his pizza wrong? It's not folded.

SPEAKER_02

Oh in 98, because that was the present, right?

SPEAKER_00

So in 98, the detective, well, a detective, I should say. I don't know if they mentioned his name, but it doesn't matter at this point. Comes to the loft asking about Courtney, and Craig notices that her earring is on the floor. Now, I'm sorry, but how much did Russell pay those fucking goons? And they missed an earring that was that obvious. And Craig, did nobody clean up after this party? How do you miss a fucking earring? Like, and this is another example of like really shitty uh showrunning. I mean, I get it, right? Like, and the earring was missing from her ear when they put her in the bag. I didn't notice if it was missing from the ear when she left the loft. Because it was missing from her left ear.

SPEAKER_01

But okay, if they were still if the detective came and he was still cleaning up from the party and the earring still there, okay. You just, but everything was cleaned. Right, that's what I'm saying. Backles, the mind.

SPEAKER_00

That was so weird.

SPEAKER_01

Okay, not only were you frozen, you got frozen in a weird like facial position. So it's just like I was gonna take a picture. My sister took a picture, you like logged off and logged back in again. I'm like, damn.

SPEAKER_00

It threw me out. It threw you out? It threw me out, yeah. And then all of a sudden it said recording in progress, and I was like, oh shit, we're back.

SPEAKER_01

And we're back. Okay. Where did we leave off before Zoom kicked you out? As the host. Mind you, she's the host on this Zoom call and they kicked her out. I just want to want to understand how insane it is.

SPEAKER_00

So, all right, I'll just go back. I just don't understand how Russell tells Craig that these men who are here, right, are gonna make it so that there's no trace that she was ever there. You see them spraying the couch, you see them getting her in a bag, you see them have this plan, and yet the apartment is cleaned up, they remove every trace of her being there. And it's not like, oh, there's a uh a random strand of hair that fell behind, a fucking earring that's glaringly obvious on the floor, and nobody thinks, hey, pick up that earring.

SPEAKER_01

Another thing, once again, off topic. Scandal. Carrie wash, Olivia Pope's um, what is she called? Gladiators, they would have saw that. They would have like, wait, they would have looked at her ear and like, oh my god, there's an earring missing. We have to make sure it's not here. That's why you need a woman on the team. Thank you, Abby. Even Huck would have seen it. Okay, come on. All of Olivia Pope's gladiators would have caught that. So don't tell me that it's imp it's possible to miss the earring. Not if that's your role to be a cleanup person. You don't miss shit.

SPEAKER_00

And not for nothing though, right?

SPEAKER_01

I'm so mad at this TV show right now. Craig admits she was there for the party. So even if it was there, it could have fallen off any time. It could right, exactly. That was my next thing.

SPEAKER_00

Which I feel like you make it worse by being like, you know, but what do I know? I'm uh I guess I'm um inexperienced in covering up crime.

SPEAKER_01

So we are professional TV watchers. That's who we are, Lisa. You have every right to have your opinion. You an expert.

SPEAKER_00

So at this point, Sam and Will are beginning to head back. But Will is like, there's no together. And he tells Sam, he's like, and you can tell Carla, she's like, and I'm like, well, that's very fucking generous of you. Once again, once again, it's like you don't want to do something, so you just tell the woman she could do it. How nice of you. I mean, in this case, I'm like, well, she does kind of deserve it because this whole shit stemmed from her lying in the first place. But whatever. And I'm just like, how generous. At in the parking lot of the office, Paul catches up to Carla and calls her out on the investigation, and then he just turns right into his old self. He like grabs her, he slams her up against the wall. But luckily for Carla, security guard happened to know and comes and breaks it up. And Paul is like, You didn't see nothing. You didn't see nothing. And he's like, no, but that camera was like, But that camera did. Sam gets off easy because Paul tells Carla Carla Carla Carla about the fire. And he's like, That picture is the last thing I have of her. Oh, boo fucking who. Jenna's off to New Zealand, and Aaron wishes that she wasn't. And I'm just like, dude, maybe if you had told her this yesterday, although it does free him up for Carla, once again.

SPEAKER_01

I mean, even the even if it did, he still wouldn't have been a good boyfriend. Or how many? He's not a good maybe he just maybe he's just like me. We need to be alone. We're destined to be alone.

SPEAKER_00

Or maybe like Ross says, it only has to work out once, and that once is saved for Carla.

SPEAKER_01

Okay, fine. Be a romantic Pollyanna.

SPEAKER_00

At work, Carla's boss was like, You're right. And you did the right thing. We dug a little deeper, and yeah, no shit. No fucking shit.

SPEAKER_01

I know I was right. I don't need you to tell me I was right. I know I was right. I lived it. Right, right. What you need to come is like, we fucked up. Here's the promotion.

SPEAKER_00

Well, basically, right. Yeah. So you can have his job, you can have his office, and you can have anything you want from the office as long as it belongs to the company. And she's like, there is one thing that I want. The one thing she wants is doesn't belong to the company, but I guess somebody cares at this point.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I caught that, but uh, but okay.

SPEAKER_00

Just make a photocopy and then it's yours. But what's he gonna do?

SPEAKER_01

Come back for it.

SPEAKER_00

But technically it is his, right? So they're likely they're just gonna send him the stuff.

SPEAKER_01

No, right, but it was if it's not in there, what are they gonna do?

SPEAKER_00

Come back for like so Sam is now at a payphone, and she's calling Craig, but she's like outside his building. And as she's calling, she sees him in the window. He answers, but then she doesn't speak, and then she ends up hanging up. We go now, so that's that's really the end of the 1998 storyline. And in the present, Detective Marjorino comes back to the loft to arrest Henry for attempted murder. He tells Craig, Did you know Henry smoked? Because you got rid of all the fingerprints, but you forgot to look in the ashtray. And he has the cigarette button.

SPEAKER_01

Into the car. And then he's also arresting him for his mother's murder. Based on what? That's what like it's I think the whole his detective work is shy, he's always been shoddy.

SPEAKER_00

And he is on a deadline because remember, that lady was like, if you don't come up with something by the end of the week, like you're done. Like you're it needs to be done with your own case.

SPEAKER_01

But it needs to be something plausible. You can't just make up shit and make it fit your narrative. Like his detective work's just shoddy.

SPEAKER_00

And this goes back to my next note, which is, and yet he doesn't mention anything about the duffel bag full of money from the last episode. Like, hoo-hoo, gotcha. No, he didn't.

SPEAKER_01

But he can't he probably can't mention that Bob his suspects in his custody because you know that goes that just that would throw everything he does after that out the window.

SPEAKER_00

Okay, that's a good point.

SPEAKER_01

I mean, in theory, but if you were following like regular legal things, now this would have happened. So there's that.

SPEAKER_00

Um, Craig is like, wait, and then you see him, oh, go ahead.

SPEAKER_01

Also, he shouldn't have mentioned it to Will, because once again, Will could be like, well, he fake blackmailed us. So he shouldn't have mentioned it to anyone to begin with.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, that the whole thing was was a great thing if it was above board. He's the cat. I would have set up a sting. And then you right.

SPEAKER_01

Can we get him on? I would like to get him on so he could like, hey, how did you feel about this character?

SPEAKER_00

Oh, that would be great.

SPEAKER_01

He was like, I hated it.

SPEAKER_00

Well, I think it was stupid. I didn't watch the whole uh series of Six Feet Under, but he was a way better cop on Six Feet Under.

SPEAKER_01

So I'm pretty sure he learned what not to do based on this writing. He's like, Oh, I'm gonna do that. I'm gonna be the opposite.

SPEAKER_00

So, um, although actually, I I think Six Feet Under came first.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, I don't know.

SPEAKER_00

I'm not sure. Yeah. Anyway, as he's arresting Henry, Craig is like, wait, and he's grabbing at the wheelchair, and it's it looks like he's about to have his like evangel evangelical uh thy has been healed moment where he comes up.

SPEAKER_01

He was looked like he was going to, yeah.

SPEAKER_00

But then he doesn't. They leave, he he wheels himself over to the window and watches them put Henry in the car. And then obviously his next move is to call a lawyer for his kid, except no, he calls Carla. Craig, you never call the right people. Like, once again, you got a problem, you call the wrong person. I mean, it could be the right person, but it's the wrong person first. And he's like, the secret has gone too far, and we need to tell we need to tell them who really kids killed Sam. And if you won't, I will. And then the episode ends.

SPEAKER_01

Six feet under was before this.

SPEAKER_00

Okay. There are no more episodes. And I what I did find out though is that these episodes did air in Australia.

SPEAKER_01

Yes. I found that out too.

SPEAKER_00

Okay. So I am just like, alright. I still stick with my original uh theory. I mean, okay, remove the coffee table and the cat and all that. But if if it still fits, it still fits. Yeah, because they're obviously protecting someone. And while I really, really like my suicide theory, I just don't think that it is as plausible the way they're going to such lengths. To protect her, like, why do you put like so far unless we marry the two theories? What if she was going to commit suicide?

SPEAKER_01

But the cat killed her first.

SPEAKER_00

No, no, no. And and we know that women are are so much less likely to use violent methods for suicide. But maybe she had the gun, and then the person who really killed her was trying to get it away from her. And it went off accidentally.

SPEAKER_01

Back to I think Amy. Like, who else would they go so hard? I guess 13 episodes later, I think she's the only person they would go so hard. And and I think you're like, okay, this is going way too far. If we just tell the truth now, maybe we can get, you know. I still think it was Amy. That being said, I totally think we're gonna we're going to reach out to everyone involved with this show to they uh maybe follow a TRO against us so we can so we can like get some some answers or maybe some theories from the actors and producers and writers. Never mind, the writers, never mind, they probably hate us now. Can we say hi-bye? Their writing sucked. And they maybe like what I said. They maybe like the premise was great.

SPEAKER_00

The premise was great, and I'm sure that their outline was bad, yeah, it's fine. But I'm pretty sure filmed in the paragraphs, it it just was too jumpy. And um sloppy.

SPEAKER_01

And I'm pretty sure some of those writers will go back and be like, you know what, that's fair. It sucked. Yeah. Yeah. So hopefully we'll have we won't have any injunction against us, and hopefully someone will get back to us.

SPEAKER_00

Oh man, do you have anything else? I mean, I we're we're definitely gonna do the recap and talk about all the whatever and all the theories that we found and the deep dives that we've done because we can't start getting into them now. And then we'll we can also talk about what's next for Sess and Sips.

SPEAKER_01

Lisa's not gonna remember. Probably not. She's forgotten already. Every time she's like, why didn't you tell me? You haven't told me. And then when I tell she's like oh, yeah, you did tell me. Yeah, I know I did. I don't need clarification on that.

SPEAKER_00

But the thing is that I've never heard of that show. I don't care. No, no, I don't care. She doesn't remember anything I say. My feelings are so hurt.

unknown

Okay.

SPEAKER_00

So I feel like it's just like I have no context to put it in, so it doesn't stick in the brain.

SPEAKER_01

You just don't love me. Insane.

SPEAKER_00

Now, if you guys, as listeners, want to reach out to the actors, the staff, the writers, the producers.

SPEAKER_01

Uh and maybe all can get TROs.

SPEAKER_00

PAs. I mean, I don't like delayed reaction. People held the boom mics, like just do it. You know, do it. The people who made the copies and got the coffee, do it. We'll take anybody we can get.

SPEAKER_01

We'll take boomers. Like, well, we didn't see the scripts, but we heard X, Y, and Z. I'll take that.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, if there's any articles about it or I even looked for like released scripts. Yeah. And you didn't find anything?

SPEAKER_01

Not for this reunion, for another show called Reunion. There were scripts. Nah.

SPEAKER_00

That's it. That is it for 1998. That is it for the 13 episodes of reunion. I hope it was worth it for y'all. Because now I'm like, what the fuck? I need answers.

SPEAKER_01

I hope you guys really enjoyed the mini season like we did.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. It was fun.

SPEAKER_01

It was fun, though.

SPEAKER_00

It was fun.

SPEAKER_01

So our next season is going to be a surprise to everyone, including Lisa. Although she knows the show, even though I told her six times. And the show yelling Lisa, Dad, you did it. Okay, question. Do you remember the show? Like right now at this moment?

SPEAKER_02

Okay.

SPEAKER_00

I do. So I guess that's it. So, like we said, just text us or get in touch with us for your theories, for your comments, for anything that has to do with this show. And until next time. Oh, no, wait. Don't drink and drive. I forgot that. Thank you. You're pointing. You could say it. You you know the words. You know how to speak. Do I? Do I really?

SPEAKER_01

Words are hard.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Don't drink and drive. Drink responsibly. And until next time, I'm Agnes. And I'm Lisa. And we're out of here. See that bye.
