SPEAKER_00

Hi and welcome to this episode of Assassin's Sims Spotlight. If you're new here, sorry. If you're not, you you already know. Today we are going to be chatting with the hosts of the Two Broke to Joke podcast. We have Manny and Omar with us. Hello.

SPEAKER_04

Hi guys.

SPEAKER_00

I am Lisa, I'm one of your hosts. It's time to talk. No, just talk. Just talk. Oh my god, more fucking editing. Just talk. Because it's our episodes, not these episodes. You would know that if you freeze. Come on.

SPEAKER_02

Oh my god. Unfreeze and talk. Okay. I'm Agnes. I'm your co-host Agnes. There you go.

unknown

What the fuck?

SPEAKER_00

Her internet is unstable.

SPEAKER_02

My connection is unstable like me. Okay.

unknown

Okay.

SPEAKER_02

Stop stop from talking about it. Introduce again.

SPEAKER_00

No, just introduce yourself again. It's fine. We're gonna just displace. And I'm Agnes.

SPEAKER_06

Hi Agnes. Hi Agnes. Oh no.

SPEAKER_00

Sorry, I didn't know she was gonna say anything, so I needed like a breath. Okay. Let's uh let our our special guests introduce themselves and tell us what they are sipping on.

SPEAKER_07

I am Manny uh from the Toothbroke to Joke Podcast, and I'm sipping on some 99-proof water.

SPEAKER_05

I'm Omar Diaz. I'm the co-host of the Too Broke to Joke podcast. Uh and I'm sipping on 99 proof banana liquor.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, nice.

unknown

Yeah.

SPEAKER_06

You're not sipping.

SPEAKER_05

And you got you got what? Oh my god, it's dope.

SPEAKER_00

I have my red wine. I'm good. And Agnes.

SPEAKER_05

What are you drinking, Agnes?

SPEAKER_02

I'm just drinking coffee with no, I'm not. I'm drinking Kahua with coffee. I am a couple days ago, I got the okay from my doctor. I'm officially out of my recovery process and it's alcohol on. Alcohol all day, every day.

SPEAKER_06

Sounds healthy. Sounds very healthy. Yeah. In between meetings. She's got a little bit of making it. In between meetings.

SPEAKER_02

I have a lot of right. I have a lot of making up to do. So there's that. And then in Wisconsin, all you do is drink. So, you know, I wasn't prepared to work sober. So there's that.

SPEAKER_05

I just went to a football game, uh, a rutgers game, and they played Wisconsin.

SPEAKER_02

Did they kick their asses? Please tell me what we know.

SPEAKER_05

Wisconsin walked a dog like that. It was like 36-7 or something ridiculous. Nobody would like we were the last ones to leave just because we don't want to sit in traffic.

SPEAKER_02

To be fair, they don't have anything else going for them here.

SPEAKER_05

So, I mean, the sports and then the are you guys called they call themselves cheese heads, right? No. Wisconsin. Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah.

SPEAKER_02

The Packers. Yeah, the Packers, cheese. Cheeseheads. Yeah, they're just Wisconsin's the cheese state. So yeah.

SPEAKER_05

No, they whipped their they whipped Bruggers ass. They sure did for real. Okay.

SPEAKER_00

So one of the things that we do here is we ask we ask our guests silly questions. I guess you want to go first?

SPEAKER_02

Okay. Are you guys ready?

SPEAKER_05

We are ready. Yeah, we're we we're usually ready for silly.

SPEAKER_02

All right. This isn't this really isn't that silly. Uh it depends on your answer. What is the most embarrassing situation you were in in high school? I'm talking about like embarrassing. Like womp womp.

unknown

All right.

SPEAKER_05

Both of them.

SPEAKER_02

You gotta get this on video because they're both like I'll go first.

SPEAKER_05

I'll go first. I sharded in homeroom. Yep. I sharded in homeroom. Oh, how am I gonna beat that? Yeah, you don't have to beat it.

SPEAKER_00

But did anybody catch on?

SPEAKER_05

Everybody caught on. Are you kidding me? Oh, I was holding it and holding it. And so what happened? I got to school late and I went right to homeroom. Usually, because you know how your body adjusts, it's like, oh, it smells like school. I'm gonna go to the bathroom. And I but I would but I was you know how it is. You pull the how does your bladder know that you're two blocks away from your house? It smells it. So then it starts working, all that stuff. So I'm like, oh my god, all right, I'm gonna go to homeroom and then I'll go right in between classes. And I'm just holding it hard. I go to my locker and I'm like, oh my god, oh my god. I go to homeroom, I walk in, I sit down, and those are the old school desks where the seat was like a only a three-ply laminate seat.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, the what yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_05

It was like so yo, I held it and it went brrrrr.

SPEAKER_07

Why'd you go to the classroom?

SPEAKER_05

Because I had to sign in before you're allowed to go. I went to a Catholic all-boys high school, they didn't fuck around. They didn't fuck around.

SPEAKER_07

Did they call you Omar Diarrheas for the rest of the dude?

SPEAKER_05

You don't know. You know, if you listen to the episodes, you know that my dad was super strict, right? And if I didn't make it on time, I'd get a note at home, and then my dad'd be like, hey, what the fuck? Why were you late? Blah blah blah. So I don't want to shit on myself. Well, I shit on myself to not be late.

SPEAKER_00

What can I ask what school that was?

SPEAKER_05

Sure, that was it was called uh Archbishop Molloy High School in Jamaica, Queens. Now it's called St. Anne's Academy because it's co-ed now. They made it co-ed a year after we graduated.

SPEAKER_02

Because they were waiting for your asses to leave.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, but like we don't want that again.

SPEAKER_06

No, it was rough.

SPEAKER_00

We need to bring some females in here.

SPEAKER_07

It was rough. What about you?

SPEAKER_02

I think Manny's deciding on I got hit by a car running from truancy in front of everybody.

SPEAKER_07

Okay, that's embarrassing.

SPEAKER_02

I knew that one already, I think. You told us like at work back in the day, so yeah, that that happened.

SPEAKER_07

I was running away from uh truancy. We were cutting out, and I ran. I was running, I was the first one. I was out. I was I could run back then. That was before I gained the little and and I was running, and that car came out of nowhere and hit me. And I got up and kept running. But everybody telling me, but when I got back, everybody was laughing at me. Everybody saw you.

SPEAKER_05

Did you get up and look at everybody that saw you? I don't know.

SPEAKER_07

I got up and kept running. Like that was a goal.

SPEAKER_00

So did that was a way, but did you get away from the true win officers? Of course, of course. Okay, that's that's see, that's not like embarrassing. It's kind of like a fuck no embarrassing for them.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, they got hit by a car and still beat them. Still beat them. That's that's not that's like a bad ass story for you, man.

SPEAKER_07

It's not it was embarrassing for me because I I remember I screamed something like disrespectful to them as before I left, so it looked like I'm going off, and then boom. Like God said, Oh, really?

SPEAKER_02

I got something for your ass.

SPEAKER_06

It's about anything.

SPEAKER_02

I I have a feeling the like the really juicy, embarrassing story, manny's holding back on. He's like, Do I tell this story? He's like, Yeah, no, we're not telling this story. I mean, yeah in high school, no, middle of school, college, and he's come on.

SPEAKER_07

I'm talking about before high school. Before high school, I was bullied. I mean, that was pretty though.

SPEAKER_02

Okay, next time.

SPEAKER_07

Yeah, man. You got me drinking uh pull out the heavy drugs.

SPEAKER_00

What would you do if you found a dead body in a hotel room?

SPEAKER_05

We'd punch each other in the face. No, no, no, no, no, no, but that's for car accidents, right? Yeah, that's what we'd be here from the back.

SPEAKER_00

That'd be pretty impressive for the body.

SPEAKER_05

Wait, are we together when we find this body? I'm not going into the room. Why are we together in a hotel room?

SPEAKER_00

You didn't say you were. You just said that. You were thinking you were together, not us. I'm not asking you guys these individual questions. He said we're together, okay, in a hotel room. All right. No, if I do you.

SPEAKER_07

I see a dead body in a hotel room. I'm not going in. I'm not going.

SPEAKER_02

I mean, you had to go in to see the body.

SPEAKER_07

I had to go in.

SPEAKER_02

I mean, you had to see the body. But wait, okay, but then I'm back and right back back the fucking.

SPEAKER_05

I need context. But I need context. Am I arriving? Oh, this guy always I might own.

SPEAKER_02

You walk into the door, you open the door.

SPEAKER_05

My room, a fresh, a fresh room.

SPEAKER_02

A fresh okay. Let's stop this. Omar is walking into his room for the very first time. No, okay. For first time, Lisa? I think the beginning of it. I don't know. This is interesting. You just walk into your hotel room after a day of conventioning.

SPEAKER_08

Okay. Walk in. Conventioning. Okay.

SPEAKER_02

And you like, oh shit, there's a dead body in your room. What does Omar do?

SPEAKER_07

Oh, it's in my room. Like, I didn't like I've I've already stayed in that room.

SPEAKER_02

Yes. Today. As of now, yes. But Omar wants contact. I'm giving him, I'm making up one.

SPEAKER_05

Is the body is the body in the bed or on the floor?

SPEAKER_02

I going to blood.

SPEAKER_05

Is there a lot of blood? Is it a lot of blood? Oh, yes. That's a good question. Is there a lot of blood in the room? Yep.

SPEAKER_07

Yes, no?

SPEAKER_02

Can I say something?

SPEAKER_07

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

All right, based on all these questions, Manny and Omar are both going to jail.

SPEAKER_07

I'm saying, like, okay, if there's a lot of blood, I might just back out and be and try to figure out how I'm gonna explain to the cops. I had nothing to do with this. My DNA shouldn't be there. I didn't do anything, right? No, but you've already been in your room.

SPEAKER_02

No, she said it's already your it's your room.

SPEAKER_07

It's my room. So it has DNA in it already. It's your room. All right, so it is my room. How do I explain it? Got in there. I don't know. I think I would what do you do?

SPEAKER_02

We didn't say how you're gonna explain, but what do you do? Right? What's your move?

SPEAKER_07

Is it bloody? Is it bloody? Because I guess it's bloody.

SPEAKER_02

There's blood everywhere.

SPEAKER_07

Man, you're making it more complicated. Now I gotta chop the box.

SPEAKER_08

You guys keep asking questions.

SPEAKER_07

You know what? I'm out. I'm leaving everything.

SPEAKER_05

I'm backing out saying shit. I'm backing out, but I'm gonna check the pockets to see if there's money.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, that's good. Nice. You don't need it anymore.

SPEAKER_07

Now it's now it's robbery and murder. You idiot.

SPEAKER_06

Just leave. Don't look for nothing. Okay, don't check through the pocket. No, don't check. Got it. Okay.

SPEAKER_00

But just put a glove on first.

SPEAKER_06

Right.

SPEAKER_00

We should have taken an Atavan. I'm going to jail. Well, listen to this one. I guess we'll go to Advantage.

SPEAKER_02

But I'm going to jail. I should have taken the Adavan. I really should. I was not prepared for these two.

SPEAKER_05

Maybe that's why that person died.

SPEAKER_00

From Adavan?

SPEAKER_05

Adavan overdose. Did you kill him? What? No. Agnes is guilty.

SPEAKER_02

I mean, at this rate, your body. Okay, your bodies would be the dead bodies at this point. And I at Lisa and I would gotten over.

SPEAKER_05

Hello, 911.

SPEAKER_02

911. Actually, we were actually set up that Omar died, but Manny did it because he wanted the tile from Mass Square Garden. And we're both forgot about that.

SPEAKER_00

And people that you remember.

SPEAKER_07

He's talking about getting it certified today. So I'm gonna wait till he certifies it. Then I'll find a way to kill him.

SPEAKER_02

And then we'll kill him and set you up for the murder. Got you. He's like, let me get my drink on.

SPEAKER_05

Just so you know I'm not cheating.

SPEAKER_02

There's no rules. There's no rules.

SPEAKER_05

There's no rules. You're asking me questions.

SPEAKER_02

I need to get right. I know. Oh my god. I'm still working, by the way. I'm sorry, you guys. Oh, no worries.

SPEAKER_00

All right. So I I have another question. It's not a silly question. It's just how did you guys get into podcasting?

SPEAKER_07

Whoa. Omar asked me if I wanted to do a podcast years ago. And I said no. Then he asked me again, what's it gonna be about?

unknown

Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

Like, what's it gonna be about? I don't know. I don't know if I can talk about stuff. Yeah, unless it's hip hop. So I'm like, okay, maybe unless it's hip-hop.

SPEAKER_06

I didn't say it. Yes, you did. You lied. Yes, you did. Maybe I'm lying. Uh oh, what happened? She's jumping out the window. She's guilty. They're in on it. Oh, yeah. Oh, wait, wait.

SPEAKER_07

I gotta go upstairs and get it. But uh, yeah, Omar asked me a few times, I said no. And then one day we were sitting around, jobless, jobless, broke, broke, right, and making jokes, and making and just having conversations. Yeah, and we were like, yo, we should you said we should record this.

SPEAKER_05

Why aren't we recording this? I think were my exact words. I go, why the fuck are we not? We should start recording this. And matter of fact, one that first night that we talked about it, I set up my phone. Remember? Yep, yeah. And it said, Oh, I'm just gonna record this conversation. I still have that file, yeah. And uh did you never publish that? I never we never published it.

SPEAKER_02

No, can I can we listen to it? Like, it could be just between the group, doesn't it be like live and up there, but mostly funny as fuck?

SPEAKER_05

I'll upload it to YouTube as private and send you the link.

SPEAKER_02

That must be funny as fuck.

SPEAKER_05

It was pretty funny. We were fucking laughing our asses off. But the problem was the angle was wrong, we looked too small, like, but but the audio's there, yeah.

SPEAKER_02

It's always the angle, that's what they always say.

SPEAKER_00

So, but why not then release it as just why not just release it as an audio file where the angles don't matter?

SPEAKER_07

Okay, good, yeah, right, right. Yeah, we could do that. Yeah, I mean, we'd have to look at it. I didn't even know what I said again. I there's times where I listen to the podcast we just recorded, and I can't believe I yeah, I said some of that.

SPEAKER_05

I just like that Lisa's more forgiving, she doesn't care about the angle.

SPEAKER_02

Um, listen, you're the one who was concerned. I, you know, I don't think you guys really should be concerned about angles or size. We really don't care. Women don't care.

SPEAKER_08

I told you! Don't kidding me.

SPEAKER_05

All right, next question. Next question. I like this.

SPEAKER_00

There's no questions.

SPEAKER_05

There's no you don't okay.

SPEAKER_00

Oh my there's no questions.

SPEAKER_07

We just answered like three. Yeah, it's really good.

SPEAKER_00

I okay.

SPEAKER_07

No, I want more questions. I like this.

SPEAKER_02

Okay, more well, we don't have questions. We just go because most of our guests got a question.

SPEAKER_00

Why do you want to answer more questions? Ah, yeah.

SPEAKER_07

I was having fun. That was fun, that was fun, right? Because it's called the spotlight. I thought I thought I was gonna find out how to hide a body.

SPEAKER_05

I want to show all of our funny angles. Oh no. We can play like $25,000 pyramid. We don't want to. We don't want to fan. We don't want to stop and you haven't each other once. Uh you stand in it. Uh come on and narrate.

SPEAKER_00

They're facing each other now, they're going back and forth, there's hands. I'm not really sure what I'm looking at.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, because it's the way to tell you smiling.

SPEAKER_00

All right. I don't know.

SPEAKER_05

No, they're gonna use not judgment. Some video.

SPEAKER_00

We we might just use that one.

SPEAKER_07

So this one's not faking a phone call, he's faking a conference. Okay, yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Her her job is uh they need her.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, no, it's okay.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, no, no, but I I'm always interested in hearing about like the the origin story of the podcast, how it came about, how you decided. And we did everything that was the medium.

SPEAKER_05

And I said, I said, okay, here's I my computer has two cameras, one in the front and one in the back. Yeah, and uh, and I'm like, well, I have a microphone from my Zumba teaching days. Well, I said, Well, we'll make it work, dude. We don't have to play it because I don't want to buy equipment. I'm like, dude, we'll just do what we have. Yeah, and that's what we did, and we sat down on the city.

SPEAKER_07

You can tell that we had that one motor with two cameras because your shot was like right there in front, and yeah, so y'all had the back camera that was able to play. Oh yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_00

I didn't re- so when we recorded with you guys, I didn't realize that you I thought it was like on either side of the table or different sides. We are so then how but right now we recorded, yeah. But when we were recorded with you guys, I I don't remember who, but one one of you had the blue background and the other had the red. So I it just gave the illusion that you were further apart. So that's cool.

SPEAKER_07

Well, because we used two telephones. We were across from each other, we were across the table from each other, like we usually record, but this time we set it up this way because we're both on one mic talking to you.

SPEAKER_05

We actually, I actually was up one night trying to figure out how I can get more space. Bless you.

SPEAKER_00

Thank you.

SPEAKER_05

More space and feel more comfortable. Because I do another podcast with another guy that's like an aviation podcast, and I was getting tired of putting up curtains and sending, I'm like, how can I set it up so all I have to do is maybe one or two things. And I'm like, you know what? I so I wound up sliding the table towards me instead of twisting it and then sitting on opposite, and then when I do the aviation podcast, I have an old movie screen that pulls up and covers that. Oh, that's cool, yeah, and covers that, and then uh my side, if you look at the last episode, I have a the TV behind me with so it's basically the same setup just with a different logo, and and you can't see this, makes it easier to do.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, no, no, no, but that works out nicely because like I said, I I was looking at the background, like it looks familiar, but it's different. And I I was trying to remember uh how it was different.

SPEAKER_07

Yeah, this was my background. No, this was my background the side.

SPEAKER_05

No, but you see that you see that end, right? Right. You so so usually Manny is sitting about here where his head is diagonally this way. So you see kind of he's almost like the old one, only before the entire background is red. Right. Yes, okay, that's cool.

SPEAKER_00

That's cool though.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah.

SPEAKER_06

So a repurposed basement. Which is cool.

SPEAKER_07

It's a studio, it looks like a radio station, then it does.

SPEAKER_05

It does. That's pretty awesome. I vibe it. It's cool. I work here, I like my regular job I do here. It's man of many hats.

SPEAKER_00

And I there's a there's a bedroom, bedroom, quote, in the basement. And when we moved here, I was like, oh, that's gonna be it's it's not really big enough for a bedroom. Maybe for like a pull-out love seat or something like that, but there's not really a lot of use for it. It's a small room. So I'm like, cool, I'm gonna turn that into my recording space. And my husband's like, Yeah, yeah, yeah, absolutely. Like it'll be nice and quiet, blah, blah, blah. That room is currently housing his coats. Like here I am in the corner of my room.

SPEAKER_07

He must be a really cold guy.

SPEAKER_00

He's not. He just likes coats. So he's he's got a cool room for them.

SPEAKER_06

Oh man. Everybody knows I'm corny, that's okay.

SPEAKER_00

But yeah. So maybe one day I'll have like a really cool background.

SPEAKER_07

I mean, this is all his toys. He makes all this stuff. Most of the stuff. Yeah, I have problems. Most of that stuff in the back, all those robot transformers, all of that he made.

SPEAKER_00

So yeah. My husband would love all that stuff.

SPEAKER_05

I'm gonna do a tour of the studio. Maybe we should do a short. We did do one on the topic up. I wanted now, like the way we set up the table now and do kind of like a walk-around. Maybe we'll do that as a short. Maybe we'll do that today.

SPEAKER_07

I had an idea for the intro, remember? To do it in the intro, yeah. Well, why don't we do it today? We could do that.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. So, Manny, Omar, Omar, Manny, your theme song, your intro, an outro song.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Did you guys was that a Manny production or was that the Omar Manny production? Who wrote that? We wrote that.

SPEAKER_05

We wrote it.

SPEAKER_02

We wrote together. I said, Diddy.

SPEAKER_07

I so it sounds simple as hell.

SPEAKER_05

You guys are you can tell that we wrote it. So we wrote so we wrote it, and um Manny did the finishing touches on it, and so he wraps it, and I just add lib on it. And he's on the chorus, yeah. And I'm on the chorus, yeah.

SPEAKER_02

I actually I hate you guys because like I said, I don't fast forward, I just hit play and I drive and I just listen. So the music, you know, the intro, you know, I don't skip anything. And by the end of the episode, if I'm getting out of my car, whatever, I'm over here fucking sing a goddamn song. No shit.

SPEAKER_04

It's catchy, it's catchy, it's very catchy.

SPEAKER_02

You guys really did you guys did your thing with that because I'm like, oh, thank you.

SPEAKER_07

That came out of nowhere. Yeah, it came out on a we just needed something for the it was originally supposed to be just the chorus with no music, and then we bought the license to that, yeah.

SPEAKER_05

We yeah, we did by that. Yeah, we buy the we bought the license to that tune.

SPEAKER_00

But sometimes guys, so okay. Um, I don't know if you guys watch the Golden Girls or ever have a button.

SPEAKER_05

Um Golden Girls is one of my favorite shows ever.

SPEAKER_00

Wait, are you being serious right now?

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, yeah. Okay. I even Miami is I watched it. I've watched it. Miami is nice. Is there some I'll say it thrice? Miami is actually thrice. What is it? Thrice is a word. Toes interuterine uh rose. We just don't use it in songs. That's it. Yeah. Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

But the song, the the point was, the song, it was kind of like a all right, I'm gonna throw you in there, sing it, and then it was like one take, and they didn't think it was ever gonna stick, and it's like one of the most popular theme songs ever. Everybody sings it. Yeah, and so sometimes you know, when you overthink things, it's it just doesn't work out as well as you just like fuck it, throw it at the wall, see what sticks, and let's go.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, but I'm so just like I'm O C D, I'm I'm also very spelled. Oh H so I'm the kind like I like to I like to throw chances. So like I basically I'll try everything. I'll try anything, I'll cut lawns I will try anything to make it work, and I've always been that way. He's always worked hand over fist, right?

SPEAKER_06

I meant to kill you. It's okay, I'm done. I'm good. I'm don't don't die, don't die.

SPEAKER_03

I knew he was gonna do that.

SPEAKER_05

Well, before the episode's over, I'm gonna bring it over and show it to you guys. Be careful with it.

SPEAKER_00

He looks nervous.

SPEAKER_01

He's like, wait, don't touch my future, don't touch my inheritance, do not break my inheritance.

SPEAKER_06

I will fucking kill myself.

SPEAKER_02

You'll go you'll jump into the fire for it.

SPEAKER_07

So yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Tell tell us how you guys know each other, like how long you've known each other, how you met. Too long, too long.

SPEAKER_05

Too long, right?

SPEAKER_02

Sounds like us, Lisa.

SPEAKER_05

Um 31 years. 31 is what we came up with. 93.

SPEAKER_07

So yeah, what was 93? So 30.

SPEAKER_00

I was like, wow, they only feet.

SPEAKER_07

Oh, it is 31. Yeah, it is 31 years.

SPEAKER_02

Because they they they're about five to six to seven to 20 years older than we are. So there's that.

SPEAKER_07

Yeah, I'm 32 times two. So wow.

SPEAKER_00

What grade did you guys meet?

SPEAKER_07

Well, we didn't we didn't go to school school together.

SPEAKER_05

We met I graduated, I graduated in 92. I graduated in 91, and um we met through a mutual friend of my girlfriend at the time.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, they don't have us beat, we have them beat.

SPEAKER_00

I said that. Oh, okay. What are you saying?

SPEAKER_05

You both dated the same guy?

SPEAKER_00

No, how many years have you known each other?

SPEAKER_02

Oh god, he's trying to get all creative. Math.

SPEAKER_00

Do math for me. How many years?

SPEAKER_02

37 years. Holy shit, bull.

SPEAKER_00

Who could that be?

SPEAKER_02

We're only 25. I don't know.

SPEAKER_00

My kids 29 every year.

SPEAKER_05

I know, and my daughter's like you guys have known each other since what? Like sixth grade?

SPEAKER_02

Third.

SPEAKER_05

Sixth grade.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, stop giving us three extra years. We're younger than you.

SPEAKER_00

I just listen, I don't know about you, but I just graduated six years ago.

SPEAKER_05

Oh, there you go.

SPEAKER_00

Actually, that's a true story.

SPEAKER_05

Oh, you did it online?

SPEAKER_00

No, I did it in person, uh, a marriage and three kids later.

SPEAKER_05

Oh, you're a beast. My sister did that shit working full-time. She she she she graduated as a psychology and sociology major, did it for three months, hated it, and then put herself through law school in three years while working full-time.

SPEAKER_00

Shit, good for her.

SPEAKER_05

She's a beast.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, she's a I was gonna say I I did a dual degree in health and nutrition science and uh bachelor's of psychology. And then I went in, I well, I continued working for a nonprofit after-school program, and then the pandemic, and now I work a better job remote, and good thing those two degrees are collecting dust in the closet. And you know, I don't know if you know this. Oh, because I can't afford a master's.

SPEAKER_02

Well, you couldn't you you you you couldn't go to work and go to school and take care of the kids? Yeah. The wife on the side. I know just I don't know if you guys notice that you hear more women doing 600 different things. And but you know what? I'm gonna say I just want to I think it known. We're stronger. So wait, when I had no one's no one's better.

SPEAKER_00

When I had my youngest, I she was born in October. So obviously the semester, you know, was well into way. Excuse me. I had her and I during the week, and then I took like that one week off, emailed my professor, and you know, whatever, and then came back to class and hear it, and she was like, Don't worry, you bring her to class with you if you don't have anywhere else to okay.

SPEAKER_08

Wow.

SPEAKER_00

And there was one lecture where it was a little bit more heavy on the notes, and you know, here I am with and she's you know, kind of like in the car seat, but whining, and my professor's like, Do you mind? And I was like, Okay, she carried her the whole fucking lecture and was like, She's quiet when I walk. She carried her the whole lecture. She was like, You just focus on notes, don't worry.

SPEAKER_05

I was like, That's unheard of.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, yeah. And she was pregnant at the time, so maybe she was just like, I get it. I get it.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, you never notice that you never notice that when you're like in a crowd and you see like a random baby and they you think they're gonna hurt themselves or fall, everybody freaks out about it. Yeah, like everybody freaks out about it. That's crazy.

SPEAKER_00

No, I've I've been very fortunate that a lot of the professors that I did have were really, really um like helpful when it came to don't worry, if you don't have childcare, I don't want you to miss class because you don't have child care. You bring them, you know?

SPEAKER_07

And some understanding would probably just like a hum humanity, you know what I mean?

SPEAKER_00

Because I had one professor who it and it was a required class, it was chemistry, something you can't get around. And the morning of the the night before the midterm, my daughter was having really, really bad um like breathing, and she wasn't asthmatic, but she was like six years old. And so as soon as in the morning, we went straight to the emergency room so that they can, you know, look at her. Obviously, I missed class and missed my midterm. When I went to the professor, because it was one of those classes where you know the the midterm is 50% of your grade. So if you fail, there there's no point in continuing. And I explained to her what happened, and she was just like, Well, there's no makeup test. And I'm like, my daughter was in the emergency room.

SPEAKER_03

I I don't know what you know, like hello, hold on, I'm sorry, I gotta interrupt one second. Hi baby, Sash. How are you? Hi, Sash. Sorry, my wife got home from work.

SPEAKER_01

Hi, sorry.

SPEAKER_05

It's audio, it's audio, so we're good. Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

I love her. I don't know who she is, but I love her. I like like I see your family pictures and stuff. I'm like, oh, I love them.

SPEAKER_06

Thanks.

SPEAKER_02

I want to be them.

SPEAKER_06

No, you don't.

SPEAKER_02

Lisa tells me all the time I won the lotto. I won the lotto for being single. She's like, you're she's like your winning life.

SPEAKER_00

I think I should repeat that in public.

SPEAKER_02

I mean, every married person I know is like, no, you're fine.

SPEAKER_06

That's funny.

SPEAKER_08

I know.

SPEAKER_06

She said the same thing to me the last episode. One more adness.

unknown

Flip, flip.

SPEAKER_08

Oh my gosh.

SPEAKER_00

Agnes is constantly telling us how Meghan Markle's friends introduce her to a prince. And I'm like, I didn't even marry a prince. You want me to get one for you?

SPEAKER_02

But her friends didn't marry a prince either. And I still have a prince. They dipped her up with a prince and they weren't married to a prince. Oh well, I'm not her friend. They came through for her.

SPEAKER_00

I'm coming through for you, and you're still single and peaceful.

SPEAKER_05

This is coming from the same person that five minutes ago said that women are so much stronger.

SPEAKER_02

Listen, I said I'm stronger, but you know, I can't. I don't want to do everything by myself, okay?

SPEAKER_04

You can't uh you can't look a gift prince in the mouth.

SPEAKER_02

Listen, I thought at this point, you got a prince on your title, you know, depending on what part of the country, but you're not of the world. I what are you doing?

SPEAKER_00

I told my husband like a couple of weeks ago, I was like, I really wish that I win the lottery. Why? So I could buy you the house next door. He's like, You don't want me?

SPEAKER_08

He was like, I just don't want your shit.

SPEAKER_00

Like, I want all the perks of you, but then I want like my space. Like I want my house, not your stuff.

SPEAKER_05

So funny thing that you say that in Hackensack, about 10 minutes from here, there's a famous uh house. It's on, I mean, at their rich people houses. And the guy bought the property next door. They divorced and they built a tunnel between the houses. Wait, that's our dream.

SPEAKER_00

That's our dream. That's our dream. Alex gotta get another house then. Alex could have a house like behind the other size, yeah.

SPEAKER_07

Yeah, but maybe you could buy one of Diddy's houses because he had tunnels under there.

SPEAKER_00

I can't. I don't think I would I can't afford Diddy. I could barely afford my own.

SPEAKER_01

I can't afford it. I can't afford the cleanup of his after the fact. I could need like hazmat. Right.

SPEAKER_07

You can open up a slip and slide.

SPEAKER_02

I mean, it'd have to be like the I'm sure I'm sure there's like DNA all over the place. God knows where it's at. Like, excuse me. Fluids all over the place, mixed in with the baby oil. That's the best thing you need to stop. That's why their faces is this priceless. This is the best video.

SPEAKER_05

Dishes, dishes and dildos.

SPEAKER_07

So he went he went he went he went to a white party, a daily white party. I did.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I remember oh, I thought you meant like white people. We got rid of that 1865. It's gonna hey.

SPEAKER_07

He went to the all-white party. He went to the all-white party.

SPEAKER_00

I went to the if you go to a white people party, you went to a white people party? No, I'm white, but like I'm not white.

SPEAKER_05

It's called a white party because it's called a white party because everybody dresses white is for labor.

SPEAKER_00

No, I got that now.

SPEAKER_05

Okay. So I was I I was invited to I I was invited to the first white party uh he ever had. It was 98.

SPEAKER_01

And uh you went to a ditty party?

SPEAKER_05

I'm sure there was going on even then. But uh, I didn't get to stay that long. I I actually got there. I had I got there around lunchtime. They said it was an old I had to work that night, or else I probably would have stayed. Oh, you put in work. I put not at the mansion.

SPEAKER_00

You you know why you might have just saved yourself by having to probably night.

SPEAKER_05

But if you listen to the if you listen to the last episode, the last episode I detail everything that I saw there. It was crazy, fucking crazy. A lot of money spent there.

SPEAKER_00

We'll have to find time to listen.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, it's really I I'm having a difficult time interviewing you guys because I do listen to your podcast.

SPEAKER_00

You don't interview anybody, you talk to people. Stop.

SPEAKER_02

I talk to you, losers. As it's hard because I because I do listen to your podcast, so I'm like, wait, did we talk about this already? Was I on their podcast? When did we talk about that? And then we were on your episode one time, so I'm like, wait, I'm all confused.

SPEAKER_00

So I have a confession, I have notifications silenced, and then like late at the night, I look and I open the app and I'm like 80 fucking text messages. That's Omar. I don't know who it is, but I'm like, I no, I can't, I can't, I can't delete it.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, you you and Sasha would get along just fine. He hates that shit. Why is it that you have to write, hey, send? Will you send? Pick up apples, send, and send oranges, send.

SPEAKER_04

She goes, You can't just write like a paragraph and send it.

SPEAKER_05

I'm like, I'm sorry, it's just the thumbs are real fast.

SPEAKER_07

I'm the opposite. I hate typing, so I like recording messages.

SPEAKER_05

She hates that shit. She goes, Really? That's so that's how you tag guys text each other. You talk, why don't you just pick up the phone and call each other?

SPEAKER_07

Nah, and I don't have to type, it's just like, yeah, yeah, la la la la. Boop, that's it, son. It's like you're standing right now.

SPEAKER_02

That would never work for us. That would never work for us. Because there's stuff that people do not know need to know or hear me say that or what I said to Lisa.

SPEAKER_00

I have only one friend who ever sends me voice memos, and it's not even it's it's like if she's driving or something and she just needs to like, you know. But nobody sends voice messages except Manny.

SPEAKER_07

Manny.

SPEAKER_00

I'm just like, um, I can't. I don't know.

SPEAKER_07

I have to I have to I hate typing. I hate typing people around me. If you if you guys don't text me, I won't text.

SPEAKER_00

No, I'm I'm the same way. I mean, and then and then when it's too much, I'm just like, I can't overload sensory. No, no, no, delete. I just pretend it never existed. She just I mean, and then I'm like, as is anything I need to know? Okay. Yeah. Yeah, that's it. But yeah.

SPEAKER_02

She wants to mute me, but she can't because she needs me.

SPEAKER_00

How do you know you're not already muted? You're not, but see you, but you wouldn't know.

SPEAKER_02

You know why? You know why? Because like 30 seconds late, a little green thing comes up. So I don't know you've read it. Maybe I'm just on the bat talking. Like, okay, she sent a message.

SPEAKER_05

Maybe Lisa's the one that's throttling down your internet connection, and you need to know it.

SPEAKER_02

Maybe you know I went for the pastor, and I don't blame her if she did.

SPEAKER_05

I have a question for you guys. Do you guys listen to Spotify? You listen to Spotify. Okay, Agnes listen to Spotify. Okay, but Agnes will probably know this answer. So, do you use the AI DJ, DJX?

SPEAKER_02

I have not as of yet.

SPEAKER_05

Okay. All right. Well, when you get a chance, use it. Just hit the button.

SPEAKER_02

I don't have a never, I don't think about it. I only turn my my music on when I'm in the car. And so I turn the car on, it starts automatically. So I don't even think it's like, okay, I use my internet's unstable. But yes, I will play with that. Lee's afraid of AI.

SPEAKER_05

I start, yeah, me too. I started using it, and um the voice that talks to you and says, Hey, I'm gonna play some stuff that you've been listening to your genre, but your top song for last year. It sounds like the VJ from MTV. It was it was racking my brain. I go, why does this guy so un sound so familiar? He remembered DJ Sway? Is it like that's exactly what it seems like? Wait, it is him, yes. It's not him, but it sounds just like just like chat GPT. Just like Chat GPT sounded like Star Wars.

SPEAKER_00

What was that? The actor from the Cosby show that wasn't he working at like a like a blockbuster or hardware store or something? He'll look at Home Deep Lowe's or Home Depot. Um, yes, everybody's gotta have a job. There's no shame.

SPEAKER_05

It's being no because uh he didn't get work after the Cosby show ended, and he was he played the oldest daughter's husband.

SPEAKER_00

Elvin.

SPEAKER_05

Elvin, yeah.

SPEAKER_07

Gary Coleman was before he died, he was working as a security guard. Security guard, uh-huh.

SPEAKER_00

Stop.

SPEAKER_07

Yeah, yeah. He was there was a viral video. There was a viral video of him on YouTube punching some jumping on top of a car and or something like that.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, he punched the he punched the customer in the face, yeah. That's how he lost his gig.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, I mean, like how he was shoplifting or something and all that. No, no, no. I mean, how did he get a job as a security guard?

SPEAKER_07

Yeah, no worries that whole cast, that whole cast was cursed.

SPEAKER_00

Oh no, I know.

SPEAKER_07

I know that, but the uh what's the name? The girl, she died in a uh drug overdose. She was arrested for robbing a video store Play-Doh, right. And uh Willis, Willis was a gang member, shocked Bridges, yeah.

SPEAKER_05

But he's still alive, he's the only one that's still alive.

SPEAKER_07

Yeah, and healthy and clean though. Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

I um I have followed him on Twitter and he was constantly doing lives.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

But I I tried to listen. What happened?

SPEAKER_05

You muted him?

SPEAKER_00

Well, no, I just unfollowed because it was too much. Too much, always notifications. I was like, too much, can't do it.

SPEAKER_05

Gotcha.

SPEAKER_00

But yeah, no, but the but even the the lives, they always seemed kind of all over the place. And then I was like, I don't I don't know. Like Is it realistic? What am I getting out of this follow?

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, yeah, what could what per what why did you follow him to begin with? Like I mean, he wouldn't be someone I would want to follow.

SPEAKER_00

But like this was years ago. I mean I've had my Twitter account for like 15 years. It's not like you know X it it's um I'm sorry, X. It's not like I'm choosing to follow accounts where people are telling me that they're eat Haitians are eating dogs. It was back before when people still had brain cells connected.

SPEAKER_07

They're eating the dogs, they're eating the cats, they're eating the pets, they're eating the pets, they're not.

SPEAKER_00

Can we talk about all the people being like really like oh my god, they're eating the geese? Don't people eat geese for Christmas dinner? Yeah, and these people have obviously never been around an actual geese because those are oh my god, they're eating the chicken. They eat the chicken, they eat the chickens, right? Kamala, comrade Kamala, yeah. Well, sometimes it's Kamala, sometimes it's Kamala, Kamala, right? Whichever brain cells.

SPEAKER_04

You know why he calls her Kamala?

SPEAKER_00

The wrestler, Kamala, yeah.

SPEAKER_04

Kamala, the Ugandan headhunter.

SPEAKER_00

I know I read about that. I was like, that I wasn't familiar until the first time he ever said it.

SPEAKER_07

Makes sense. She she she was a district attorney, wasn't she, or something like that, or a prosecutor? Yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_05

But the first time he ever said it, I remember I was watching CNN and I'm like, I told Sasha, I'm like, what a motherfucker. This guy's pronouncing it like the wrestler from WWF. Kamala.

SPEAKER_00

I didn't know the wrestler until I I had read up on the you know, like the articles, and people talk, so like I started seeing buzz about the wrestler, and I'm like, wait, I mean, my husband is into wrestling, but that's like as far close to it as as I get. So I had no idea.

SPEAKER_05

So but I was like he doesn't have any of his old uh WWF action figures?

SPEAKER_00

Him, probably.

SPEAKER_07

Yeah, he just recently said he uh Trump did, he just recently said something like uh, would you rather have the black president? Oh god, did he say that? Or the white president that's gonna blah blah blah blah.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_07

I was like wow. I guess about getting nice. It's like I think he's gonna win, you know that, right?

SPEAKER_00

Listen, shut your mouth. Fortunate. Unfortunate.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, I think he's gonna win. I think he's gonna win. Yeah.

SPEAKER_07

Think about it this way. It's only four years, you know what I mean?

SPEAKER_00

It's no no no, it's not only four years.

SPEAKER_07

It'll be forever. Yeah, he wants that. He wants he's a dictator.

SPEAKER_00

And and he's got his fucking puppy ass hat van.

SPEAKER_05

I've been I've been channels in the last month. I've been to Arizona and I drove to Tennessee and back. Okay. Thirty minutes away from my house on the highway is Trump land. All the way to the room.

SPEAKER_00

Same here. Same here. I'm in I'm in Middlesex County. And in Middlesex, it's a little bit, you know, it's it's mixed, but ten minutes away is Monmouth County, and driving through there is like Wait, you're in Jersey? I'm in Jersey, yeah.

SPEAKER_05

Oh shit. We're gonna have to have you come over, do an episode. She won't want to. Why not?

SPEAKER_00

I would as long as they let me out of here.

SPEAKER_05

We're 45 minutes away from you.

SPEAKER_00

What uh town are you in?

SPEAKER_05

Bergen County.

SPEAKER_00

Okay, I'm in I'm in Oldbridge.

SPEAKER_05

Okay, yeah, no, I know where you are. I had a friend that lived in Marlborough.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, it's right next door.

SPEAKER_05

Right next door. Yeah, it's a 45 minute drive. Yeah, that'd be cool. I mean, we I call it Dumont.

SPEAKER_02

Dumont.

SPEAKER_05

Very demure.

SPEAKER_02

Very demure, very mindful. This is this show is not demure. This show is not mindful. How are you guys with your drinks? Um someone drank all of mine, so there's that.

SPEAKER_00

But I supplemented.

SPEAKER_02

To be fair, I started drinking when I got home when I got off of work. At 11 o'clock, so I've been drinking.

SPEAKER_00

Some of us have to work till the whole 4 30 today, okay? I'm so sorry.

SPEAKER_02

But some of us has to get eight hours of work into three. It's pressure. Some of us have to get eight hours of work out of eight and also get paid for eight. Yeah. Maybe we should have our own podcast. It's like Omar Lisa is gonna get us.

SPEAKER_07

Omar's home more than me. But I work from home. Yeah. But you're home more than me. Yeah, yeah. Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Okay, but do you find that when you work from home that people think that like you have all the time in the world because you're physically in your house?

SPEAKER_07

Well, he has time to watch bees fly.

SPEAKER_05

Uh that wasn't here, that was at the camper.

SPEAKER_07

He asked me that one time. He goes, You ever watch a bee fly around? I said, No more shit to do.

SPEAKER_00

I mean, don't get me wrong. I I I really enjoy working remotely. And I'm and I'm one of those people that I sit at my desk and I start working, and then I'm like, oh shit, like it's lunchtime.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, but I'm but I'm working from home, right? But I'm also the house mechanic. I'm also um, you know, it's I'm the one that does the grocery shop and I do the laundry. I'm the one that's gonna be like, and listen, curbside pickup during lunch. I'm the one that fixes shit that's robot. Okay, it's okay.

SPEAKER_08

It's okay to come.

SPEAKER_00

No, no, but I I mean I get it. But it's like, I don't know.

SPEAKER_05

I feel like people think that you work remote, you work from home, and then it's like, oh, you you know, you just not lie, there are some days that it's dead, right?

SPEAKER_00

And and don't get me wrong, there are some days where I'm like, oh, let me throw a load of laundry and let me put that laundry away, let me but for the most part, I'm I'm more productive at home than I would be in the office. There's nobody to talk to. There's oh a noise outside, I look out the window, but right.

SPEAKER_05

So so like, but what happens more than more than not is I work overnight. So most of the stuff that I do starts at I get a call at 10 o'clock at night, and then I'm flight following through the night. And do you know what I'm saying? And then and then I have to still take Gabby to school, and I'm already up, so I might as well cut the lawn. I might as well so then but I catch up on the days that that are slow. That's all. And then on top of that, I tried every little open slot that I have. You know, I'll edit the podcast. Yeah, something for Gabby, you know what I'm saying? Take Sony to the doctor, like you know what I'm saying? So I'm filling all the slots. I I can get it done, it's fine. Sometimes it's fucking stressful, but it is what it is.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

I relish the good times, knowing that there'll be bad times.

SPEAKER_00

Of course, but I guess I'm just curious, like what other people's remote working experiences like. Because I hear and uh obviously mostly from people who don't do it, but I always hear like, oh, it's like must be so nice to work at home. Well, it's nice to not have to work with pants on, yes. But that doesn't mean I'm not working.

SPEAKER_05

I mean obviously Yeah, I can't do that because I have to get up and take everybody to school, so I have to shower. Like I'm up at six.

SPEAKER_00

No, no. Oh, uh I'm up at six, shower.

SPEAKER_05

Right, no, but I'm saying, but I'm fully dressed because I have to go out the world.

SPEAKER_00

Well, I bring my daughter to the bus stop, but I'm in my sweats, and yeah, now it's you know, sweater weather, so sweater weather.

SPEAKER_05

Sweater weather, sweater weather, sweater weather.

SPEAKER_02

I um not to rub it in. My kid is growing out the house, and I have no responsibilities but myself and my cat.

SPEAKER_09

Oh, wonderful.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, I just work. I work. This is the part of the program where Agnes will be fucking herself. I do that too, no Jesus.

SPEAKER_08

Yeah, Jesus edit.

SPEAKER_02

Listen, I'm not making you guys uncomfortable. I am not doing my job.

SPEAKER_05

Oh, no worries.

SPEAKER_02

That's my job.

SPEAKER_05

Hello, I'm here.

SPEAKER_02

So Lisa Lisa gave me the finger. Everyone's like, fuck you. Uh you know, my life is so hard. I'm so sorry. But I had to click cook for myself.

SPEAKER_00

I'm sorry. I'm supposed to cook for yourself and the family. I it's just so painful. I mean, listen, I'm not sure where I'm supposed to feel bad for you.

SPEAKER_02

You know, but you know what? Okay, so of the friend group, I was the first one to have a kid.

SPEAKER_00

That backfired. It backfired like, and I'm like, so when my daughter was gonna be like, Oh, I can't tell you how many times she's like, Oh, my daughter's almost girl, and she's out of the house, and then her daughter had kids.

SPEAKER_02

I mean, granted, she waited a couple years after 18 to have them. But listen, she has a job, she has daycare. I see them when I want to see them.

SPEAKER_00

I didn't have time there where you were babysitting every day ready to pull your fucking hair out.

SPEAKER_02

I was just like, I yeah, it was it was bad.

SPEAKER_00

And I'm like, oh, remember all those times you're like, oh, my daughter's grown. My kids wiped their own ass. Ha ha ha.

SPEAKER_02

I am now back to oh, I living this wonderful granny life. I love it.

SPEAKER_05

Good. You should be able to enjoy it if that's what you want to do.

SPEAKER_02

I do. I'm having a great old time. But Lisa, I'm the moment your the youngest is like you know, 16, like you know, she's self-eliant. I'm kidnapping your ass.

SPEAKER_00

Okay. Don't pack a bagside.

SPEAKER_02

Just have your passport ready. Don't pack a fucking bag and let's go.

SPEAKER_01

My passport is within reach. I'm gonna beat the whole like bitch. Get in. I'm about to slow down and jump in the window.

SPEAKER_00

And right there. And I just renewed my uh global entry. So where we go.

SPEAKER_05

My god, I just did mine too. Yeah, I went I was at Newark Airport at 5 30 in the morning last week.

SPEAKER_00

Oh you did you you had to do a renewal for uh an interview for renewal?

SPEAKER_05

Uh yeah, because I let it expire during COVID. Uh oh, because I was like, I literally thought about it like two weeks after it expired. I'm like, oh maybe I should check out my global entry. I'll just do this online. Let me tell you, like a fucking expired two weeks ago. Motherfucker. And that was like 18 months ago. I've been waiting for that interview.

SPEAKER_00

Well, like a proper moron that I am, I applied and did the global entry at the end of 2019.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, that's when I did it. I just got it. I just got it. Yeah, it was right before COVID.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, but you said you let it expire. Mine didn't expire, it's good for five years.

SPEAKER_05

Mine expired right during COVID.

SPEAKER_02

He expired right before COVID. He forgot. Okay.

SPEAKER_00

He got her five for her was in 2019. Right before COVID, thinking, here I am, got a good job, the kids are good, blah, blah, blah. I'm gonna go somewhere. And COVID was like, uh-huh, sit your ass down. You're not going to go. Yeah, uh-huh.

SPEAKER_05

That was horrible. Pajamas for you.

SPEAKER_00

Yep. I I've I've used it twice since.

SPEAKER_05

I've used it nowhere internet. I've used it twice. It's really cool.

SPEAKER_00

Both actually, both times have been going to Florida for Podfest.

SPEAKER_04

Oh, okay.

SPEAKER_00

So you guys are coming this year, right? I guess coming.

SPEAKER_05

I want to come, yeah. Like I it's really up to you. Like, you need we need to know the dates. I need to have, yeah, the data.

SPEAKER_02

Haven't I sent you the link like several times? Yeah, yes, I have.

SPEAKER_05

We'll drive down. Yep. That way we don't have to spend money on flight, man. It'll be cheaper in gas. Yep. Yeah, man.

SPEAKER_02

I will send you the link. You guys have to get your tickets. I think you know, you gotta get the passes. Wait, yeah.

SPEAKER_00

They driving down, no tickets on uh no, no, no money spent on plane tickets.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, why not? I got it.

SPEAKER_00

Lisa might jump in the car with you.

SPEAKER_05

Oh, there you go. We split the gap and the drive.

SPEAKER_00

And the drive. My my car might not make it, but yours would.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, no, mine will. It's definitely won. We just went to Tennessee. Good.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, nice. Lisa. That's what I I miss having a car that I can. I mean, I've had my car for my car's a uh 2007. I've had it since 2012. Okay, so I've put a fair amount of miles on her, and she's been good to me. But she's in antique now, she's senior citizen, so I don't know if I could be driving her to Florida. I don't wanna what is it? CRV.

SPEAKER_05

Oh, I know, I know. Are you kidding me? That thing will go to Florida 20 times.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, but I don't want to get stuck in Florida.

SPEAKER_05

You're not, but it's I get it.

SPEAKER_01

You can you're definitely if you come here to me, we can drive there together. Or you could come here to me and we could all drive together.

SPEAKER_05

Do an episode out of the truck.

SPEAKER_00

I know you know what actually, yeah, that would be so cool. The last time my car would make it. The last time I went down to Florida, 'cause my in-laws lived there. So we went actually it was 2020. It was February, the end of February. So when we came back, it was the day that they said uh New York is under state of emergency. We were like, fuck, we better get to the airport before we don't get home. But because they live there, so normally when we go with the kids, we drive. It's just you know, five of us, it's it's cheaper and whatever. But let me tell you, put me something good on the radio to listen to. And I I could get you at least as far as like Washington, maybe Maryland, in one straight shot.

SPEAKER_05

I did two 13-hour stretches to Tennessee and back, stopped once for fuel.

SPEAKER_00

I love driving. I mean I I remember a couple of years ago, a friend of mine had moved to North Carolina. And she was like, Oh, what are you doing for spring break? Nothing. I got kids, nothing. So I had gone up to um Yonkers to see my dad that day, and I was telling him, I was like, Oh, you know, so and so invited me to come visit, and he was like, So why aren't you going? I was like, Because you know, kids, three kids, who's gonna watch them? He's like, uh, leave them here. Just here's some money, go. I was like, wait, are you serious? He was like, Yeah. He was like, Leave your kids, just go. He was like, How how long? I was like, I don't know, like two days, three days. He was like, they'll be fine, pick them up and you know. I literally went home from Yonkers, and this is when I lived in Staten Island. Went home, packed a bag, and left. And then I forgot to tell my husband though.

SPEAKER_04

Oh shit. What the fuck?

SPEAKER_06

Oh shit.

SPEAKER_05

Amber alert.

SPEAKER_00

He wouldn't have even known I was gone, probably. But he calls me, and I think I'm like already in Virginia by this time, and he's like, he's like, hey, what do you want to do for dinner tonight? And I was like, Oh shit, I forgot to tell you.

SPEAKER_05

Virginia, but you were already like 10 hours deep. Yeah, but we didn't say marriage work, but I was like, I forgot to tell you.

SPEAKER_00

He was like, Are you fucking kidding me? I was like, I'm sorry it all happened so fast. I was like, but I walked a dog before I left.

SPEAKER_06

Holy shit balls, that's that's fucking nuts, yo.

SPEAKER_00

Why the fuck are you coming home?

SPEAKER_06

Two or three days.

SPEAKER_00

I was like, um, I'm just gonna spend the day with her tomorrow, and then I head home the next day. He was like, I fucking can't with you.

SPEAKER_07

That's fine. Holy kids. And did he ask about his kids?

SPEAKER_00

Oh, yeah, he always like they were with my dad. He was like, Alright.

SPEAKER_02

Um, but do not tell Krista this story because I sure as fuck would not be telling, give me the boys, you just go that won't be happening. Don't tell Krista this story.

SPEAKER_00

My dad is the best. I'm sorry, he's the best. We've had difficult times, but that man shows up. Uh he is the best.

SPEAKER_02

He always makes me feel so warm and cozy. Like I feel safe. He makes you cry. He makes me he makes me cry. Like tears of just emotion.

SPEAKER_05

Agnes, how far from Minnesota do you live?

SPEAKER_02

I don't know, a couple of hours. I'm an hour and a half from Chicago. So is it even this far? I feel like it's Minnesota.

SPEAKER_05

Is Sasha just drove that with Gabby? She took Gabby to a concert in Minnesota and their flight can't on a Sunday and their flight canceled.

SPEAKER_02

Oh shit.

SPEAKER_05

She had to be at work the next day. So she she rented a car and drove 16 hours.

SPEAKER_02

16 because I'm about so, yeah, I'm about 14 hours from New York. So yeah.

SPEAKER_05

Wow. Two hours south from Minneapolis, and then I picked them up at Newark Airport at the rental place at 5 a.m. We got we get home, we dropped the rental, get home, and Sasha's like, oh my god. I left my work phone in the in the center console. Remote car. Oh shit. And and me, like, I don't like my mom always said, you know, don't never never drown drinking a cup of water. How are we gonna fix it? So we we got home, I'm like, all right, let's go. She's like, What do you mean let's go? I said, We're gonna drive back to Newark. She's like, but the car's in the rental lot. I go, but it's not fenced in. But the door locked. I said, Did you program it to lock? What what did you drive? It was a GM, right? She goes, Yeah. I'm like, unless somebody programmed it to lock, the door's open. She's like, Are you sure? I'm like, well, let's go. Let's find out.

SPEAKER_02

We don't know. So we get there. All right.

SPEAKER_05

So we drove to the airport. We got back at 6 15 in the morning. We parked at a gas station, like where no one, it was there was a Dunkin' Donuts there with like three spots. We parked there, ran across the highway of the airport, ran through like four different the hurt slot.

SPEAKER_00

Very familiar with Newark Airport.

SPEAKER_05

Drove like diagonal, walked, I ran diagonally. I'm like, I think I know where you're parked. And we found the car. I'm like, isn't this your car? She goes, It looks like it, but there's so many. I go, no, but I think this is your car. Look, it's the last one here. It's it was like at the back of the line. I'm like, you're probably the last one that dropped off a car this morning. I go, I went and I opened the door. Open the door, I opened the console, her phone was in there. She goes, Oh my god, no fucking way.

SPEAKER_02

I'm like, You are her hero. Yeah.

SPEAKER_07

That day. Yeah. Wouldn't there be someone that you can tell, listen, if it was locked, the the phone was in the car or whatever. I I haven't seen your thousand dollar iPhone, ma'am.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, exactly. I mean, there's a chance, yes, but there's also iPhones are hard because you can track them now.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, that's true. That's true. But still, I'm glad that we went and we're gonna go.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, people don't care about that. If they because she dropped it, not care.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, she dropped her key the keys in the drop box. Yeah, so I'm like, the car is not locked, trust. So we fucking went, it was open. It was dope.

SPEAKER_06

We got lucky. We did get very lucky.

SPEAKER_05

Anyway, sorry about that. Yeah, so the drive. So yeah, you should drive out here, and we the four of us just fucking drive down.

SPEAKER_00

Wait a minute. Where aren't you north? You should drive down here.

SPEAKER_02

I think he was telling me I should like just drive over there and all float, but yes, yes, you're on the way.

SPEAKER_00

It's probably cheaper to fly here than to Orlando. Maybe not.

SPEAKER_02

Actually, it would be cheaper for me to fly out there. If not if I get this bunny from my company, and then it doesn't make a difference. I'm still I'm trying to get my company to pay for uh convention. She's trying to get a sponsorship opportunity. Okay.

SPEAKER_05

So I'm telling you, wear all the gear.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. Um, actually, this is so bad. I mean, I gotta do a little business email, like a like a business plan, you know, email. I'll do that, it's not a problem. But I'm thinking I have to wear one of my my wrap dresses with my heels when I talked to because you know it's it's a car dealership. I wear the dress, just wear the heels. You know what? That would get me um that would make me a VP. Okay, so I'm sorry. I don't see that.

SPEAKER_05

Imagine if we if we men, if we as men had those superpowers, what superpowers? Like, yo, I'm gonna go get a discount. Yo, I'm gonna go get an airline discount. Let me put on my heels, right? Right. Let me go put it on my tight dress.

SPEAKER_02

But you know the difference that you men are susceptible to it, so that's the problem.

SPEAKER_00

I mean, I do get mad when my husband goes out with his gray sweats.

SPEAKER_02

Listen, stop wearing your lingerie outside, unless you bring us back a free pizza in exchange for your your you wearing the gray sweatpants. I'm all for it.

SPEAKER_05

We don't have that problem here because no one wants to see me in my gray sweat. So no conviction. I don't want to bears though. I'm right.

SPEAKER_02

You know damn well your wives will be like, Don't what don't don't don't you dare with put them back.

SPEAKER_00

So he'll come into a room and his fly will be open and be like, your fly is open. He's like, Why are you always looking? I'm like, Who am I supposed to look at?

SPEAKER_07

You're probably you're probably the only one that should be looking.

SPEAKER_00

I'm like, wait, wait, wait, we got a joke here. I'm like, I didn't marry you for your sparkling personality. So if you notice his eyes open, you know why I'm looking.

SPEAKER_05

Angles. All angles.

SPEAKER_01

He don't need angles, okay? He doesn't need angles. I just knows. It's okay. It's not what you think. They that went over their heads. It's okay. Let them think what they think. But no, I think I don't think they think that.

SPEAKER_05

You think so? You know how to play stupid really well.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. It's actually a funny story, though. That's all right. On the next Sassin Sips.

SPEAKER_05

Okay. Oh my god. So yeah, so tentative, tentative trip.

SPEAKER_02

I will send you the information again. You guys have to go. You have to buy your tickets, buy your tickets, get your hotel room. We got our hotel room like what six months ago. In the convention, like in the convention hall? Yeah. Yeah, in May? Yeah, because it was up. Right. Okay. Yeah, we as soon as what yeah, you gotta get your hotel rooms.

SPEAKER_05

What city is it? In Orlando? Orlando.

SPEAKER_02

Orlando.

SPEAKER_05

I haven't been to Orlando in a minute.

SPEAKER_02

And I know how you guys feel about men sharing rooms, but sometimes they have people that like that want to share rooms.

SPEAKER_00

There's a lot of people that are very willing to share rooms.

SPEAKER_07

I'm not sharing rooms. I'm sharing room with him, but I'm not even sharing a room with him.

SPEAKER_00

Just putting it out. We got a proposition. Somebody was like, oh hey, you want to share a room? And I was like, oh hey, it's not just me, but thanks.

SPEAKER_07

The fuck? I don't want to share a room with you.

SPEAKER_00

Like, no, I don't do it out of the room.

SPEAKER_02

Okay, so we don't share rooms. We're strictly New York. We know, like, no. There are people that I wouldn't wear with.

SPEAKER_00

That dude was not one of them.

SPEAKER_02

No.

SPEAKER_00

But you So it's it's kind of hard to explain, especially as people who are born and bred in New York. It was hard for me to understand it. And it was hard for me to understand until the first time. But there's an outpouring of welcomes and love when you go to pod for it.

SPEAKER_02

It's just weird. Because they actually want to weird. They want to help you. They want to be they want to be a resource for you. They want to talk to you. They want to know about your podcast. They want to help you with electronics and tools. They wanna like, well, I'm doing this. Maybe we could do this together.

SPEAKER_00

Like it's like But more than that, it's like you go there and it's weird. You meet people and it's like immediately they're they're like family. And so it's weird. While we're sitting here saying, Hell fucking no, I'm not sharing a room with a stranger. You get there and it's almost like I could have stayed with that person. I mean, because even us, we we met someone and she had a hotel, but it was a little bit further away, and we were like, if you need to stay here tonight, like you can room with us, it's totally fine. And it's weird because you're like, Yeah, I don't want to share rooms with people I do know.

SPEAKER_02

I mean, then you know it would have then there would have been three bed dead bodies, but at the well wait, but wait, but what would you have done? Oh, well, right.

SPEAKER_00

We would have gotten away with it.

SPEAKER_02

We would have gotten away with it.

SPEAKER_00

Um, check the pockets and leave the room. There you go.

SPEAKER_02

It's just it's honestly really educational. Absolutely. First, it was about teaching. Each one do one. Um it's the experience though, I think I was gonna really enjoy it. Because my thing is I went in there, I'm like, ugh, lectures. I don't want to talk, like I know it's gonna be informative and I need to go, but I'm thinking I'm like dark room, bored. Absolutely. Absolutely not.

SPEAKER_05

It's not thing I want to do with Manny is walk the floor without our t-shirts and see if anybody recognizes us. Yeah, right.

SPEAKER_02

Okay, so wait, we actually had someone like day two. We're doing something, and someone they're like, Are you assassinated sips? We're like, is she talking to us?

SPEAKER_05

Oh my god, hold on, hold on. So scary, scary thing happened last week. Some kid at MIT hacked into one of those Ray Bang glasses, you know, the Ray Ban, the metal hacked into it and made it a facial recognition thing. Plus, so he would walk, he literally showed us walk down the street. Everybody that it recognizes it, it pulls their all their URLs on the phone where they work, where. They went to school, how much they're worth. The dude was walking up to perfect strangers and saying, Hey Manny, how are you? Remember we met in Chicago back in 2010 at that blah blah blah conference?

SPEAKER_06

And the guy's like, Yeah, dude. That's scary. That's fucked up. That's scary. That's fucked up.

SPEAKER_02

Okay, so now I don't feel as known. I just feel and I just feel like I'm gonna go.

SPEAKER_00

Now you know why I'm a little scared of AI.

SPEAKER_07

But look at the what's happening. Look at what's happening with DNA right now. With that me, what is it? The 23andme. 23andme. You did that, right? No, I did ancestors.

SPEAKER_00

Hold on. I did 23andme. What happened?

SPEAKER_05

They they're saying that uh what they sold their all the DNA info to uh like a company like that works for Google.

SPEAKER_00

I just want to know, I'm I haven't committed crimes, so I'm not worried about that. But can they clone me? Because I really need some help. Right, I can use a second machine. I literally just thought I could that I needed to figure out how to clone myself.

SPEAKER_05

It's funny that you say that. So, like the the bulk of my work is organ transplant deliveries, like by aircraft. And uh the guy who I work for said that the that even though it's a good business right now because the world never runs out of dead people, right? And um that in the in the next three to five years that industry is gonna be completely dead because people are gonna be able to just grow their own organs. And there's no you don't have to take medicine. Imagine, imagine getting a heart transplant without having to take meds post op, or it's literally to be on a list and you know, potentially not making it.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah. That's crazy. Yeah. Yeah. Pretty pretty bananas. So it's funny that you say that. So yeah, that apparently they're doing that.

SPEAKER_07

They're doing like test beds of uh growing your scary them, like you know, especially people who have your DNA on file. I don't know what they can do or what they want to do with it. What can't they do with it? Right.

SPEAKER_00

Right, right.

SPEAKER_05

I think that list is shorter.

SPEAKER_00

What they can but I mean if you think about it, our DNA is not that hard to get. Do you you you drink a drink in public? Somebody really wants it, they got it.

SPEAKER_02

I'm just saying, like how like I've had to take uh like as when we we take like DNA tests like for a BRACA for like breast cancer, ovarian cancer. Our DNA is out there already.

SPEAKER_05

I'm at the point of like if anyone wants to get it, it's I think anybody born after 2000 and I want to say five, the hospital automatically pricks your the kid's finger and puts it on.

SPEAKER_00

Oh well, my kid was born after that, but she was born at home. We're good.

SPEAKER_05

At the same page, like on the same page that their fingerprints are on, uh huh, they do like a spot of blood, right? So that's on file.

SPEAKER_00

No. My after Oh no, actually, wait a minute. No, I lied. Two of them were born in the hospital. One of them was born at home after 2005. Really maybe two of them. This is kind of cool.

SPEAKER_02

Lisa's cool that way.

SPEAKER_00

I did, I had a home birth. She had a home birth.

SPEAKER_02

It was a home water birth, right?

SPEAKER_00

It was water, yeah.

SPEAKER_05

So they bring in a tub and stuff?

SPEAKER_00

I brought in the tub, yes.

SPEAKER_05

One of Sasha's friends had a baby like that at a at a facility.

SPEAKER_00

Let me tell you, it was the best one out of the three. It was great. I didn't have to leave. My husband sat there eating Chinese food and watching friends as I was laboring four feet away from him. He was like, Yep, you do you, babe. Go ahead.

SPEAKER_02

Bowling spirits. They're supporting you while they want your friends.

SPEAKER_00

And the the tub had a liner, and you just run the hose from the sink, you fill it up, whatever. My other two were present in the room, and my well now middle child got to cut the cord, so she was really excited. And then she tells me, There wasn't as much blood as I thought there was gonna be. I was like, Oh, you're you know, I love it. She's your child. Yeah, yeah. She was like, Can I go in there with you? And I was like, maybe not, like, just you're okay a hundred years ago.

SPEAKER_05

Maybe no, maybe more than that. 120 years ago, that happened all the time. People had kids in their homes. Oh, yeah. No, no.

SPEAKER_00

I mean, in a in a previous life, I was trained as a doula, so I'm very, you know, like knowledgeable about but it was just like a midwife.

SPEAKER_05

Oh, okay.

SPEAKER_00

Not yeah, but non-medical, more like educational and support.

SPEAKER_05

Manny's trained as an abdullah. I'm a butcher.

SPEAKER_00

But um, yeah, no, and then it was great. After she was born, I got out, I went in my bed. They the the my midwife cleaned up everything. I mean, I didn't have to do a damn thing. And that was it. Everything was done in my bed, and they came afterwards to check up on me and and my baby, right in the house. It wasn't I want to say maybe three or four days before I actually had to leave the house for an appointment for the pediatrician.

SPEAKER_05

I mean, not that I want details, but what happens if there's complications?

SPEAKER_00

So basically, most midwives won't I don't want to say like pretty much.

SPEAKER_05

Is there a doctor on standby?

SPEAKER_00

Yes and no. So she was a nurse midwife, so she's trained in most like uh emergency situations. She has oxygen on hand, she has betocin on hand for for um hemerging. And they know where the nearest hospital is, but I was low risk, so they don't really take on cases that they're high risk because then that more likely to have confidence.

SPEAKER_05

It's not just some strange old lady in a babushka.

SPEAKER_00

Absolutely not. Bush, boosh, it's okay.

SPEAKER_05

No, it's okay.

SPEAKER_00

But it's funny because at the time my father-in-law was uh EM EMT for the fire department for FDNY.

SPEAKER_05

Oh, so you had backup over.

SPEAKER_00

Say that again.

SPEAKER_05

You had backup everywhere.

SPEAKER_00

Well, yeah, and what I didn't know is that he had him stationed across the street the night that I went in labor.

SPEAKER_08

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

So had something gone wrong, he would have been ha 30 seconds away. Because he was literally right across the street in the parking lot.

SPEAKER_02

Good.

SPEAKER_00

I didn't know that, but you know, that's so cool.

SPEAKER_02

But friends are so cool. I got some cool friends.

SPEAKER_00

So he he had him stay there. But I mean, for me, everything went well, and in most cases, everything goes well. I mean, it's the the whole joke in my family was like, Oh, we need to give a birth, give birth in a van. Somebody's gonna be playing kumbaya on a tambourine, and I'm like, Yeah, yeah, we're gonna burn sage too.

SPEAKER_02

I mean, listen, don't discount cleansing of the house. I had the I cleansed my house the other week with and listen, there's a little cleansing. I had to cleanse my daughter's house for a different reason. Don't discount it. A little sage, a little incense goes a long way sometimes.

SPEAKER_07

I hate the smell of that stuff. I don't know what to smell it.

SPEAKER_02

Well, it like it depends what scent you get. I like sandalwood, so I I cleanse my house with a sandalwood incense. I like yeah, I thought only white people did that.

SPEAKER_00

I've I've never, I've never I've never done it. Maybe that's why I got problems.

SPEAKER_02

Maybe I should I mean, I mean, it's just like you know, you just have different, you know, you go in the different purpose, like you want to cleanse your house of negative people coming in negative, but you want to cleanse your house. I need clarity of if you have like issues.

SPEAKER_05

When I want to cleanse my house from negativity, I just drive him home.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, or that that, yeah, you know what, I can see that sage. From the kitchen, get the sage the pantry.

SPEAKER_07

I prefer the driving home.

SPEAKER_02

Okay, he's like, I want to go home now. So don't completely discount it. Call me a bruja. That's okay.

SPEAKER_05

Before we go home today, we're gonna have to do the egg test.

SPEAKER_00

No, I must see egg test.

SPEAKER_06

Oh, you gotta watch the last episode.

SPEAKER_02

No, no special treatment here. I'm like two episodes behind.

SPEAKER_05

So, I mean, to be fair, forget the other ones and watch the last one.

SPEAKER_07

Oh, okay. Actually, they just gotta watch the video clip. I put it up on the oh I want no no no.

SPEAKER_00

I like to do things. Wait, can you put it in the chat so I can actually find it?

SPEAKER_07

It is, it's in the chat.

SPEAKER_00

No, no, put it again because I told you I deleted. Oh, and then I mean, no disrespect, but I delete it.

SPEAKER_05

No, man, fuck you, Lisa.

SPEAKER_00

I deserve it, it's fine. Uh you don't want me to watch your clip show. Oh, what will I do with that extra minute of my life? Okay. This is the first time.

SPEAKER_05

You can burn in that minute, you can burn some fucking sage while you're the first time ever.

SPEAKER_02

We got told to fuck off on our own show.

SPEAKER_04

In a very loving fashion.

SPEAKER_02

You heard it here. No, honestly, I think that was kind of our goal. Just like, what do I have to do to tell them to fuck off? Um, so don't I need the audio clip of like you guys like ad-lipping, like that first time when you guys record it yourselves.

SPEAKER_08

Okay.

SPEAKER_02

Then that, and then send Lisa send us the little clip of the egg test. You know, but yeah, I actually listen to your podcast. I don't listen to my own, but I listen to it. You do. So you don't need to change that. You guys were like, I think the first time I she watched my I I can't stand to listen to myself. Neither can Lisa, neither can you guys, I can tell.

SPEAKER_00

So uh yes, that's why I keep coming back every week. Because there's no who else cohosts what she works cheap. I work cheap.

SPEAKER_05

That's different, but that's different than us because I listen to the podcast. I listen to the podcast. So that's so I podcast only because I feel that we get better because we criticize each other. Well, when I do the editing, I watch the podcast like six or seven times, right? When I'm doing it, right? But no, no, but I have to relay to him where I feel we need we need work, but sometimes he picks up on it right away. So, like the other day, before he's the one that he's like, Hey, how was the sound? Because he started to remember that he was leaning back from the mic. And I said, Well, it sounds great because what am I gonna say? Yeah, you sound a little far away. I mean, we're not gonna correct.

SPEAKER_07

And then today I come in, and that's one of the things, oh, you gotta start leaning forward because but yet the episode I don't yeah came out great.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, because Lisa does the editing, and I still tell me she tells me what I need to do, and I do my like but I hate, but I even hate when I'm like, oh, so by the way, like this is what I noticed, and then I feel like I'm just fucking tell me.

SPEAKER_00

I know you're not gonna take it that way. I know you're not gonna get upset, but I hate you know, telling people like negative things, just fucking tell me, especially when I like them. So I have another question.

SPEAKER_05

I have another question for you guys. I uh are you guys always very is it a cold start every episode where you guys don't know where to start it? Is it every episode? Well, we have you know, like like today, like hey, I'm talking, you're talking, like who wants to start it? She starts laughing.

SPEAKER_02

Is it always like that? Oh, that's just that's we have a set, we have a set, like this is what we're doing. So this is what happens every so often. She'll go, I'm Lisa, and I'm drinking X, Y, and Z. And then I go, I'm Agnes, I'm drinking X, Y, and Z. But sometimes she'll go, I'm Lisa, and then I go, and I'm Agnes, and then we're both just so I don't know, I don't ever know which one we're doing.

SPEAKER_05

Oh, that we're so the reason I'm bringing it up, it's not because I'm criticizing, it's because so we have that we used to have that issue when we first started. How all right, how do you go? How do we start? Okay, we'll start here, and then that's why remember he criticized me about how he doesn't like me to pre-record while we're chatting before we start. I like that because you I like the fact that that's longer because the longer we talk and flow, it it'll naturally come out. If you have to force yourself to do it, it doesn't come out right. But then we're talking, and I'll pause like, yo, what's up, man? Hey, what's up? And he's starting to warm up to that, and it's it's cool. I mean it works out. Yeah, so I think maybe next time you guys just just flow and figure it out.

SPEAKER_00

You know, when we first started like some of the early, early episodes. I had well, besides that, so I had a paper that I prepared, typed or whatever, talking about intro topics, uh like bulletins, things like that, laminated and everything, so that every week I would do with a dry race and oh no, we we do that too. You know, and the and the intro was yeah, there so that I could see it. But it just it started to feel like teleprompter, teleprompter-ish. It just wasn't us, yeah. So it was like whatever, we're even when we have those off, yeah.

SPEAKER_02

That's part of our brand. We're just just so when we do the little oh well, forgot who I am. There is no perfect here.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, so like my so my thought is always um I want the audience to feel like they caught us mid-conversation. Like, oh shit, what are they talking about? You know, so some most of it sometimes it comes in like that. Sometimes we do an intro. So like I but we've gotten so used to it where you're like, hey, I'm Omar Diaz.

SPEAKER_06

You dick, bro.

SPEAKER_02

If we would do that, right. But which I gotta say, off topic. So one of your episodes I was listening to, and you and it kind of came in in the middle, and you're about legit, maybe five words into your sentence, and I'm like, that's the fucking AC, man.

SPEAKER_08

I was like, Oh yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_07

You got me good, you got me good with that.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, that in 1972.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, yeah, but you really didn't know.

SPEAKER_07

No, no, what he was getting. No, and I know I love the show. I just wasn't like that. The way he did the way he did it was like, hey, manny, you know, like a casual conversation. So I wasn't really, it was so funny.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, wait till you watch the intro on the new one. Sometimes sometimes we're not, and that's okay. But sometimes when we're funny, it's real funny.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, only if I'm allowed back in the chat, I'll watch it.

SPEAKER_05

Oh, you're allowed. Oh, yes, Agnes has to let you in.

SPEAKER_00

No, no, no, you gotta send stuff.

SPEAKER_05

Oh, because she deleted it. She deleted the chat. Yeah, yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Good deal. Just mute them.

SPEAKER_07

I listen, I but it wasn't, it was, it was I feel the same way though, because that's the like we don't really unless we're gonna talk about like you're just sending regular stuff now through there. Yeah, yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Well, listen, no, no, no, it's fine, right? Because when I when I have looked, it's funny, I'll laugh, I'm entertained.

SPEAKER_05

But no, I'm a habitual oversharer.

SPEAKER_00

Uh well, I'll look don't get crazy now. Yeah, I have half, I will never speak to you, and half I overshare. It's fine. Oh, fuck, dude. But when I have almost like, oh shit. I just much time in my world to look at text messages, and I see 80 fucking messages. I'm like, I'm no, I can't, I I can't even get started. No, you're that was the last one I saw.

SPEAKER_07

See, I have it on all the time. So whenever it takes, I get the prompt right away. I might not read the record, but I hear it.

SPEAKER_00

I can't. I have so many things silenced because as I'm working, um the calls from my office phone are forwarded to my cell phone.

SPEAKER_08

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

So the phone rings, and I have no idea if it's personal, if it's uh a vendor.

SPEAKER_09

Right.

SPEAKER_00

And so the less notifications the better, because then I get distracted and I'm like, oh, who's that? What's that? And and it's like obviously my husband, my kids, they're not silenced, my mom, my dad, you know. So if if if somebody texts me that I need to see right away, I will see it, but everything's not that important.

SPEAKER_02

That's what she's saying.

SPEAKER_05

I I have to understand Bristol clear.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, it's it's really like no disrespect to anybody, it's just for my mental the longer you explain, the worse I feel.

SPEAKER_07

You wanna think that whole you wanna think that holds a bare hand or shovel?

SPEAKER_02

Well, we got shovel and lie our I got plenty.

SPEAKER_05

Okay, okay, so we we're recapping. You want you need that video. We're gonna include Lisa now.

SPEAKER_00

I'll I'll see it, but don't send like 47 more messages because then I won't 45.

SPEAKER_05

Just 45.

SPEAKER_00

Okay, good.

SPEAKER_05

All right, all right, all right, maybe I'm just gonna continually make it look like I'm typing and just uh always have the three dots. Yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_00

I got Agnes, and I'll be like, Anything I need to know? No, okay, good. Yeah, I'm a secretary.

SPEAKER_05

So you you need to watch, you need to watch Blink Twice.

SPEAKER_02

Okay.

SPEAKER_05

Chef's Kiss. That movie's awesome.

SPEAKER_02

Okay, did you ever see that movie I recommended to you? Um, experiment something. Oh my god, I forgot the name of the fucking movie.

SPEAKER_05

I have it, I have it saved on the thing. I have not watched it yet.

SPEAKER_02

It's interesting, and I think you oh my, I think you would have been like you would have taken a lot of things out of it.

SPEAKER_07

So we'll take a lot of things out of like a like a drop of water on this table. Listen, but that's penalized.

SPEAKER_05

Like you know, what it's made up of, and I in the future, and in big words, in the future, when you're smart, people will make constant fun of you.

SPEAKER_02

So in that case, I must be a fucking genius. Um, not too, I mean, Lisa, you can you can tap out or not, but I still would like to do maybe an episode with us on like movies or something. I don't know. I something, I don't know exactly what.

SPEAKER_05

Something about T because it's I I have I have an idea that that will it'll give we can kill two birds in one stone.

SPEAKER_00

Okay.

SPEAKER_05

We pick a movie, we turn on the zoom, and we watch it at the same time.

SPEAKER_00

I won't. Oh, like a reaction, and that's it.

SPEAKER_05

And then we we can do that. Listen to it. Do we have a 15-minute chat?

SPEAKER_02

As long as we have enough space on the zoom recording data.

SPEAKER_05

I can do mine. I I have like two terabytes or whatever, but I have a lot of space, I can do it.

SPEAKER_02

All right, I've got to do it. Man, I mean Manny, you're not off on the next any Sundays, this the next two Sundays, right? No. So we'd have to just do without Manny. No, I'm just joking. Oh okay. I'll I'll watch.

SPEAKER_05

Nah, fuck that. We're a package deal.

SPEAKER_02

Uh yeah, it'll have to be a Sunday, or Saturday, you know, a weekend, but I mean, Sundays are easier, yes.

SPEAKER_00

Saturdays are easy.

SPEAKER_07

We'll wait until like uh uh Sunday that Manny has off and we'll figure it out. You can all curse curse me out under your breath. Till then.

SPEAKER_02

All right, you guys are amazing.

SPEAKER_00

Omar, Manny, thank you so much for hanging out with us today.

SPEAKER_05

Thank you for having us.

SPEAKER_00

Until next time.

SPEAKER_05

It was fun.

SPEAKER_00

Just let everyone know where they can find your podcasts and and or anything else that you want to plug.

SPEAKER_05

You want to do it or you want me to do it? Um, we we post our podcasts, our seasons, and our episodes on Spotify under two B R O K E, the number two J-O-K-E, Two Broke to Joke. Uh, we do have a channel on YouTube as well, also called Two Broke to Joke. Uh little sidebar. We actually discovered that I forgot I had a completely separate YouTube channel for us that I never used. I repurposed one of my old ones for us, and I I accidentally posted the last episode on it, and it has over 700 views already since yesterday. Nice. So I wonder if it's it's the algorithm because it's the only video on there.

SPEAKER_07

Or I think it's the the the picture, the um thumbnail that you picked, and that's the topic. Eye catcher. It's an eye catcher, eye catcher, yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Now they're doing the English accent.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, so so uh so that channel is the number two BRK, the number two JK is that channel. But I'll send you guys the link as well.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, we'll put everything in the show notes.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, so uh yeah, that's where we post our stuff. We try to post every two weeks, but sometimes we can't get together, and that's okay. I know that uh we have another episode coming up pretty. Soon in some shorts.

SPEAKER_00

Nice. No, we definitely put everything in the show notes, make it easy to find.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, but thank you for having us. I had fun. No, thank you.

SPEAKER_00

This was fun. It it just feels like hanging out with old friends, you know.

SPEAKER_05

Cool. Yeah, no kidding. That's a common one night. Thank you so much.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, because we don't like anybody. So yay.

SPEAKER_05

Cool. Well, thank you for having us, guys.

SPEAKER_00

We like to joke that um Agnes is superficially friendly. Yeah, we know. And shut up. I'm yeah, yeah. Because she's outwardly. If you don't know Agnes, she'll be like, Hi, honey. Hi, how are you? How are you doing today?

SPEAKER_07

I used to see it. I used to see it.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, maybe no, you know. And me, I'm like superficially bitchy because if you don't know me, I'm not looking at you, I'm not talking to you. But like, if you know me, then I'm like, okay, cool, we're fine.

SPEAKER_02

She's the nice one, and I'm like, get the fuck away from me. Angela, I'm like, I don't care about the line.

SPEAKER_00

I went to Wisconsin. I went to the supermarket with her. And this lady bumped into Agnes with her shopping cart. And I just was like, oh my god, I'm so sorry, honey. And I was like, she hit you. She was like, Yeah, that's Wisconsin.

SPEAKER_02

Like, no, everyone, like, everyone's just it's a totally different vibe here. And until until they bring out the Brooklyn, and then they're like, Oh, but I'm so sorry. Like, I thought so.

SPEAKER_07

People at work have learned Brooklyn and Wisconsin must be crazy.

SPEAKER_02

What? Let me tell you. That was like, wait, wait, wait. I know I'm your boss and I sign your checks, but I'm sorry. I'm like, oh.

SPEAKER_07

Jesus. I'm sorry, man. Here's your driver's license. Well, go ahead. It's a cop.

SPEAKER_02

I've actually had a couple of very friendly incidents with the cops, and they're kind of cute here. Okay. I think you just went too far. Listen, a little flirting, a little floating goes a long way, okay? They're like, oh my god, what's that accent? I'm like, oh fuck me. Okay, here we go. Pulling on the Brooklyn. So that's the end of our episode. You guys go home, go to sleep.

SPEAKER_00

Well, we want to say thank you to everyone for being here, for listening. As always, we remind you not to drink and drive and to drink responsibly, not like us on the internet with friends and sassinsips.com for more information. And until next time, thank you, Manny and Omar, for hanging out with us.

SPEAKER_07

Thank you. Bye-bye. Bye guys.

SPEAKER_00

Lisa is that Magnus.

SPEAKER_02

And we're out of here. See you later. Bye.

SPEAKER_05

I like your hair. Did you change your hair?

SPEAKER_02

I who Lisa or me?

SPEAKER_05

You.

SPEAKER_02

I cut it.

SPEAKER_05

Okay, looks good. Lisa. Lisa's hair, you just let it down, right? You had it up in a bun last time?

SPEAKER_00

Oh, yeah, probably because it was like a thousand degrees in my house.

SPEAKER_05

Okay. Oh, you have little stars behind you. How cute.

SPEAKER_02

Oh my god, your wife is like the luckiest woman ever.

SPEAKER_05

It's actually, I thought it was pink. Why is that?

SPEAKER_02

Because you're so observant. Men aren't observant. So your wife must be like blessed.

SPEAKER_05

I'm a touched with a little bit of OCD, maybe a little bit of autism mixed in. But you know what?

SPEAKER_02

But it comes out as oh, my husband cares. Or she trained you well.

SPEAKER_05

She trained you. No, I don't. Oh well, I remember I grew up uh my dad would worked at night, so in the day he was always sleeping. So it was really me, my mom, and my sister. Always.

SPEAKER_02

So you were brought up to how to be a good husband.

SPEAKER_05

And then and then here, when we when we got married and moved to the house, we moved in her mom after her dad passed away. So at any given point for the last 20 years, it's been me, Gabby, my daughter, Sasha, and Sonia. So it's and even the dog was female.

SPEAKER_02

How was Gabby's um band thing on Sunday?

SPEAKER_05

It was awesome. They won our they won a prize. They did like, I think excellent rating. They're not a performing band, you know, so they don't do like these crazy tricks or like themed where like all the other teams have talented. They're yeah, they're very talented. She's very talented, but um, like the other the other bands had like props and it was like a movie theme or some kind of crazy theme, and they were like fighting like medieval times. They just come out and they do their thing.

SPEAKER_02

And they play.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, but they're good.

SPEAKER_02

Nice.

SPEAKER_05

Thank you.

SPEAKER_02

So, Manny, after you gave us a date and then you were naked in the date, you know, Lisa now has to like work after work. I hate my job, of course.

SPEAKER_07

I hate my job, but that's uh yeah, that's what the job is. I I I you know how it is, they change it from week to week.

SPEAKER_02

No, I get it. No, I totally get it. Like, I kind of I worked three whole hours today and then I'm off tomorrow. I don't know, it's just my god, you must be.

SPEAKER_07

You must be.

SPEAKER_05

You're like George, you're like George Jetson with the throbbing finger. Remember, he'd come. He'd come on. Did you guys listen to our last one?

SPEAKER_02

I haven't listened yet. So um, so I wonder what it's about, but I knew the episode was coming way before. I'm like, okay, Diddy just gave you guys new material. You guys previously did a Diddy episode. I'm like, oh yeah, this is coming.

SPEAKER_07

We've got we've done two previous Diddy episodes. I think we've just talked about it, but like now, it wasn't a whole episode. It wasn't a whole episode.

SPEAKER_02

One was a whole pretty much a whole episode, practically.

SPEAKER_07

It's just that come on, once you start talking about Diddy, there's so well.

SPEAKER_02

Let me rephrase it. The title of the episode was a Diddy title, you know.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, so I think the first one was No Diddy.

SPEAKER_02

Yes, yeah, you're right.

SPEAKER_05

Then the second one was Puff the Magic Bullet, because we spoke about Diddy and then we spoke about conspiracy theories.

SPEAKER_07

Conspiracy theories, correct?

SPEAKER_02

Did I miss that one, or did I just forget it?

SPEAKER_07

You probably missed it, and then this one, Diddy Did It. And Diddy did it, but but that was a question, though. Right, but did this one was he did it?

SPEAKER_05

Completely dedicated to the subject.

SPEAKER_02

I mean, to be fair, I know more about your episodes than Manny does. Um I know nothing about my episodes at all, so there's that.

SPEAKER_05

We're even um I don't know how you think that's cool.

SPEAKER_02

I know it's a fact. Is it cool? No, it's a fact, it is what it is.

SPEAKER_07

What's horrible is that he's I we just just today I was telling him how I watched the episode, and I I'm like, I said that. I can't believe I said that, right?

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, we were just editing because we started we're starting doing like shorts, so we did like almost like a supplemental to the episode. The last ep with the last time we sat down, we sat down for almost two hours, and we literally got two different episodes out of it without even thinking. Because we're just talking, yeah, we're just talking shit. So there's about 40 minutes of political talk back and forth that we made ourselves fucking laugh and shit our pants, but it had nothing to do with Diddy, and we just went off on a rant, kind of like almost towards the end. Right. So I'm gonna edit that as its own episode, and we're gonna call it election selection. Oh, nice. Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Um, so Lisa is the MC of she's the host of our shows. I'm just comic relief.

SPEAKER_00

But you know, we just we always check because when you're here, you're our guests, and we don't want our guests to feel uncomfortable. So I appreciate that. You know, it's it's all about love.

SPEAKER_07

Um, we're gonna Lisa before before you could say that also.

SPEAKER_00

Well, you know what? I don't have enough baby oil here for freak off, so I think we're damn it.

SPEAKER_05

Manny is a slippery one.

SPEAKER_00

Um yeah, go ahead.

SPEAKER_05

Um, I would before I forget because remember, I have a little bit of autism. I actually went to that convention in Tennessee, that that toy collector convention that's like ish that I told you I was going to. I got to meet Billy D. Williams.

SPEAKER_02

Billy D can still get it. I don't care. Yeah, I said that and I didn't know.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, I sent pictures to you guys. I got to meet Warwick Davis and stuff. I was showing, oh yeah, look, are we?

SPEAKER_00

You can't really see because it's wyme, but I find your lack of faith.

SPEAKER_02

Lack of faith disturbing.

SPEAKER_05

Yes, well, I am disturbed.

SPEAKER_02

So that's that.

SPEAKER_05

That dude choked a co-worker and didn't even get in trouble. Who did Darth Vader? Oh, yeah. In a conference room, he choked them. Really? Yeah. That's that's that where that phrase is from. That's not like my job, though.

SPEAKER_00

Honestly, that's not true. No, but like, honestly, legit death uh Darth Vader got a better job with his co-workers.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, no shit. There was one guy like talking shit about him and like his religion. Yeah, he's just moved his hand and started choking the dude. And he said, I find your lack of faith disturbing. So anyway, yeah, that was that.

SPEAKER_00

I'm sorry, Agnes. Is that a movie I have seen and you haven't? The one of the 100.

SPEAKER_05

That's one in a row.

SPEAKER_02

That's one, and you have like six hundreds. I don't want to hear it.

SPEAKER_05

Yo, blink twice. Blink twice after this.

SPEAKER_02

Yo, this will be a whole new series of movies and this that have not seen it.

SPEAKER_05

It could be its own episode for you guys, straight up.

SPEAKER_02

Episode, it could be it's a legit series. No, I will admit most movies I have not seen. No, because there's a lot of movies that she has not seen.

SPEAKER_05

Okay. No, but I'm talking about Blink twice. Everybody's talking about it.

SPEAKER_00

It's wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, hold on. We're gonna start with the episode because you gotta do it.

SPEAKER_05

Shut off can you give me one second?

SPEAKER_02

I could hook us up.

SPEAKER_07

Apparently, he's hooking us up. I don't know. I don't need to be hooked up over the drink.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, well, I did tell you guys to bring your favor to drink, alcoholic and alcoholic.

SPEAKER_07

Yo, what are you hooked in a sub with?

SPEAKER_02

Well, we got a drink.

SPEAKER_07

Well, I had a drink. I don't want to drink soda. No, no, relax. Uh oh, you got lick.

SPEAKER_02

That's what he's that's what I said every relax. I got this, says Bill Cosby.

SPEAKER_05

Oh, you're gonna watch the episode. Will Cosby's in it right at the end. I alright. We're gonna do uh nine chocolate root beer, root beer? Nah, I'd rather do water, you do yours. A little butterscotch. Here you're gonna love that one. Little bit. We're just gonna sip a little bit.

SPEAKER_07

This is definitely this is I have video of the peer pressure right now. This is Sassin's sips, dog.

SPEAKER_02

I was sip it.

SPEAKER_05

Look, yeah, but water, this is bullshit.

SPEAKER_02

Like our first episodes, we were drinking bottles of wine. You guys listen.

SPEAKER_05

These are shots, these are shots.

SPEAKER_02

Okay, all right. And I brought you a chaser. All right, all right. Can you mute them as we start?

SPEAKER_05

Yeah. Sorry, go ahead.

SPEAKER_00

I mean, I could just take it out.

SPEAKER_05

That's a lot of good good good uh commercial outtakes.

SPEAKER_00

Okay.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, outtakes.

SPEAKER_07

All right, go.

SPEAKER_05

Action.

SPEAKER_00

Oh shit.

SPEAKER_06

Oh, you ready? Rolling.

SPEAKER_00

I'm waiting for her.

SPEAKER_05

I I I have to see her makeup is like is like in alphabetical order. Can you tell? I could tell.

SPEAKER_02

In alphabetical order?

SPEAKER_05

You gotta live with women. Your makeup's like on point. You got everything done.

SPEAKER_02

Only because I had to work today. You th I gosh.

SPEAKER_06

Alright, cool.
