SPEAKER_03

Hi, and welcome to Sassin Sips Spotlight. I'm one of your hosts. I'm Lisa. And I'm Agnes. And today we are going to be talking to podcast host and comedian, Kevin.

SPEAKER_01

Extraordinaire.

SPEAKER_03

Extraordinaire. Keb Pound. Please introduce yourself and welcome.

SPEAKER_06

Hi guys. Thank you for uh thank you for having me on. This is this is gonna be fun. I feel it already. Um, but uh yeah, my name is Keb Pound, and uh I am the host of a podcast called The Stupid History Minute. Um also a co-host on a uh very, very nonsensical show um uh that talks about sports called Unfil Filtered Sports Weekly. And um yeah, I do uh I do stand up if you're if you're lucky enough to to be in the uh South Southeast United the United States, you know, uh you might be lucky enough to to see me perform.

SPEAKER_03

So what are you sipping on today?

SPEAKER_06

Me? Okay. So I I have this good boy vodka drink, and it's made by golfer John Daly. Or it's sponsored by golfer. Yeah, it's a it's a it's a vodka drink. See, I have um issues with sugar. So there there's very few things because I had a lot of fun in my youth, in my uh younger and more vulnerable years, I had a lot of fun. And uh, and so because of that, I have to kind of watch what I drink now. And so uh because I didn't want to get silly, you know, because usually I'm a whiskey guy, but the the good boy Vod could drink, it's an iced tea and lemonade, so it tastes like an Arnold Palmer.

SPEAKER_03

Those are good, yeah.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, look okay.

SPEAKER_03

What kind of my husband's a whiskey guy too. What kind of whiskey is your favorite?

SPEAKER_06

I don't discriminate. My favorite is periwinkle, but uh that's not good on the uh yeah, it's thirty five hundred dollars a bottle, probably not.

SPEAKER_03

Oh, that's probably why that's why you haven't had okay. Yeah, we you know we like making uh mortgage payments, so yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_06

Um uh you know, cheap wise, I'll I'll go with Jack Daniels.

SPEAKER_03

Okay, I'd be I like to bake with that.

SPEAKER_06

Or or yeah, or or bullet, you know, bullet.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, I like bullet.

SPEAKER_06

Um if a really cheap, I mean, if if you're gonna like it, it depends on what you're depends on what you're doing. You know, if you're dr if you're like tailgating and you're gonna drink, you know, have a drink in your hand for hours, you know, um, you probably want to go with like something Jim Beam early times, something like that.

SPEAKER_03

I think he likes the Woodford.

SPEAKER_06

Woodford's great. I have two bottles of that in my bar.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, I think I think there's one in our bedroom empty.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah. I mean uh Woodford Woodford's great. I I uh um Jack Daniels probably I mean that's the easiest go-to, you know.

SPEAKER_03

And it's it's not as expensive as some others. Like I I like to bake as a side. I do um alcoholic cupcakes. Oh nice. So yeah. So I use the Jack Daniels a lot because you're you're not it's not a significant amount. It's enough to get the taste, but not enough that you really know the difference between like a $30 bottle and a $3,000 bottle. Because it's it's being since it's in the cake, you know. But uh but no, maybe if I, you know, hit the number or something, I'll buy him a bottle of periwinkle if I feel so inclined.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, if you hit the numbers, you could just beg with the periwinkle. That's true, right?

SPEAKER_03

That's true. Who cares? I'm actually not drinking anything alcoholic right now because I did something else before we started.

SPEAKER_06

So um what whatever do you mean?

SPEAKER_03

Oh, uh, you know.

SPEAKER_01

I think that was a little sarcasm there on his part, Lisa. I think you know, I think you knew.

SPEAKER_03

But I'm drinking a Manhattan special. Oh, I haven't had those in forever. I don't know if you know anything about these.

SPEAKER_06

I don't.

SPEAKER_03

It I think it's like a New York thing.

SPEAKER_01

Um definitely a New York thing. And that where you gotta get espresso soda.

SPEAKER_05

Oh.

SPEAKER_01

And I was at the deli's where you get the when you get your ham and cheese, less tomatoes, mayonnaise, yeah. Oh my god. Yep.

SPEAKER_06

So there do they not have the deli in the supermarket?

SPEAKER_01

They do.

SPEAKER_06

Okay.

SPEAKER_01

I do, but the corner stores in the bodegas, it's less supermarkets and more like a deli on every block.

SPEAKER_03

Yes.

SPEAKER_06

So it's kind of like okay, when you when you explain it to me, what hits in my head is like the sopranos, you know, when they're going down to the to the to the butcher shop or or the deli and getting the pastrami or whatever.

SPEAKER_03

More less butcher shop, more like small 7-Eleven type of thing.

SPEAKER_01

I want a store that has a little bit of everything where you have to stop in like in the middle of the night or early in the morning.

SPEAKER_03

You get your you want you want your coffee, you want your cigarettes, it's a container, you want your hand coffee. Yeah, you you know, you you want pasta, you you want a bag of Doritos, or do you want a can of two baby fish? Like it's all the right and your lotto. And your lotto. And and the quarter machines outside, you want to get a prize, or do you want to ride the mechanical little pony? You know, that's outside. Oh, they don't have those anymore. And there's probably a cat roaming.

SPEAKER_01

Not probably there is. The cat is the manager, and if you ever walk into one of these corner stores and there's no cat, walk away. Because it's a front, it's not really meant for business. Just walk out, turn around and walk out.

SPEAKER_03

So yeah, that and I don't know, my husband cannot stand these, but I love them. But they're similar to me, like um, like a Malta. Malta, and I don't like Malta, but he does.

SPEAKER_02

I like the okay.

SPEAKER_03

Nope. I don't like it. I don't know how to and it's funny because my kids like the Manhattan special and none of them like the Malta.

SPEAKER_06

I I I I'm gonna sound what what what what what's a Malta?

SPEAKER_03

It's oh how do you describe it? It's like um what is the what we're gonna both Google it? We've drank Malta of India. Like that Hey Siri, what's a Malta?

SPEAKER_01

Islands.

SPEAKER_03

Here's some information. Okay, malta drink.

SPEAKER_01

It's a malt beverage. It is what it is, it's malt, but it's non-alcoholic. Yeah, no, no, no. So it's just like a malted carbonated drink. And I don't know how you it's it's an acquired taste. Yeah. You have either you like it or you love it. Syrupy syrupy, but not sweet. I don't know. It's I I don't like it.

SPEAKER_06

Do you guys do you guys know what the New York seltzers are?

SPEAKER_01

Yes.

SPEAKER_06

Like seltzer the seltzer, like little things with the color colored, you know, they got Blackberry and Yeah, the thing the seltzer waters. Yeah, yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_01

The brand is New York seltzer.

SPEAKER_06

Right.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, I don't think I've heard of it. You've seen them.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

It's a white label with like the black and white logo. I'll I'll take your word for it. It's so unobtrusous, you probably haven't even like it's something you notice, but won't even pay attention to.

SPEAKER_03

Okay, like uh alcohol or no alcohol?

SPEAKER_01

No, no, no. No, just regular seltzer water. Just flavor seltzer.

SPEAKER_03

Because we drink we drink seltzer a lot in my house, but I don't yeah, I don't know. Anyway.

unknown

Okay.

SPEAKER_01

New Yorkers don't drink New York seltzer. Like any other seltzer water. Okay. Apparently, New Yorkers don't drink New York seltzer.

SPEAKER_06

It's good with uh, you know, if you want to put your brand of of alcohol into it, you know, it's it's it's good, but uh I mean, I mean, yeah, I I don't I don't think I've ever had one that didn't have that wasn't you know leaded.

SPEAKER_01

So I mean what's the point of drinking if it's not leaded? I don't I don't I don't miss that one. Like why should why wouldn't it be?

SPEAKER_06

For a lot of my post let's just say 16-year-old life, that has been basically what is the point of having a beverage that's if it's not leaded, you know. For for a lot of my, you know, um yeah that even goes for coffee, which I keep in business.

SPEAKER_01

You know, I used funny you mention that. I mean, this is coffee. I have a leaded coffee drink today.

SPEAKER_06

Nice. Many people especially during my uh during my uh professional day, uh, will ask me, How how long are you gonna drink coffee? And then my answer is always until it's socially acceptable to drink beer.

SPEAKER_01

That sounds about right. Yeah, no, I I co-sign that because a little bit of hoo-hoo goes into the coffee in the morning, and at the end of the day, I get the next drink. Uh yeah, right. It keeps me from killing people. I mean, yeah, I said that, and I don't, and I don't take it back because I meant it. What are you drinking? I am drinking coffee, but I it was in Aldi's and I found this coconut flavored wine and I'm like and let me tell you, I'm feeling really nice. I'm loving you, I'm loving you, I love everybody. You get a hug and you get a hug, and you get a hug.

SPEAKER_03

One of the things that we do on Spotlight is we put our guest in the silly seat.

SPEAKER_06

Okay.

SPEAKER_03

All right, and so whose question do you want first?

SPEAKER_06

Um somebody just go.

SPEAKER_03

All right, I'll go first.

SPEAKER_06

Okay.

SPEAKER_03

All right. Let's shoot, I lost it. Okay. What would you paint on your first day if you were an artist?

SPEAKER_06

Probably that's a great question. I don't know that I've ever been asked that question. Probably something to do with Star Wars. Oh yes, but probably something to do with uh Star Wars. Probably need my my favorite Star Wars. Oh yeah.

SPEAKER_03

It's the this one is like the Times Square Kiss, but they're stormtroopers. And then yeah, we're we're a bunch of geeks in this house.

SPEAKER_06

Oh yes, are we?

SPEAKER_03

Oh no. He's gotta fix that. And then it's nice. Yeah. My little Valentine's Day gift. Yeah.

SPEAKER_06

Little Lego. Um I'd say I'll tell you, I'll tell you what I tell you, no, I tell you what I paint. I'm gonna paint a depiction. This is Star Wars and uh my favorite dad joke that makes my kids um roll their eyes. Um and I would paint a depiction of this. Um, I would paint Darth Vader marrying Ella Fitzgerald. And uh with a caption below um that Ella Fitzgerald's name is now Ella Vader. That's my favorite dad joke. My kids hate that joke. You know. Yeah, those of you listening, please don't turn us off. That'll be the last one.

SPEAKER_01

No, it cannot be the last one because we were like, I gotta say, I am the self-proclaimed queen of dad jokes. I don't get used to it.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, oh yeah, okay.

SPEAKER_01

We now have the king of dad jokes on our show. Oh no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no.

SPEAKER_06

My friend, my friend Bebs is the king of dad jokes.

SPEAKER_01

Beebs, really, yes, yes. I'm with the wrong person then.

SPEAKER_06

I write jokes all day long. I dislike dad jokes, but that one I I really like making my kids feel uncomfortable because I remember my dad. My dad was very serious, you know. I mean, very serious, and he very rarely joked around. I was like, I'm not gonna be like that. Yeah, so if I can show, because I think and this is a lesson for the world too, people take themselves too damn seriously, okay? They they really do. And if you can show that you're able to be a little crazy, you know, and a little out there. We were at the movie theaters last night, and and uh my best friend who's as conservative as conservative gets, and I'm sitting there and my wife and his and they were we're all talking, and then um you know this thing comes on, I'm tired of watching it before the movie comes on. I just yell out, hey, who's got the clicker? You know? And uh and they're like, dude, shut up, you know? And I'm like, I mean, you get to a level, and I got to it a little quicker than most people, you get to a level where you just truly don't care what people think of you. You know what I'm saying? You you're there. Um, you know, people who I I laugh at people who take them so seriously. I mean, people will be complaining and complaining and complaining, and I'll just be like, you know, I'll start laughing, and they'll be like, what are you laughing at? And I'm like, you you know, you you you know, I mean uh what I'm like you you need to go in the view or something, you know, get out of here. You know, this is uh this is Comedy Central over here.

SPEAKER_01

Relax, relate, release. It's not that serious. You're gonna kill. I think some people you're gonna die at a young age. Let it go. Let it go.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, don't don't give yourself a heart attack, you know, or or you know, you might have to spend a week in the hospital. You know, so anyway that's just my thought on it.

SPEAKER_01

So Darth Vader and Elephant. Elevator. Elevator. Elevator. I love that.

SPEAKER_06

Elevator. I'd rather remember that. The joke goes if you want to tell it later. The joke goes, if Darth Vader married El Fitzgerald, what would her name be? And it'd be Elevator. Okay.

SPEAKER_01

I'd remember that one. I love making my daughter's eyes roll, like her eyes are gonna get stuck in the back of her head as much as as hard as she rolls her eyes when I say something.

SPEAKER_03

She's like, I said that's my my my oldest daughter is 17. And she gets so like when the song Pony comes on by Genuine. So I mean, and it's so absolutely inappropriate. So what do we do? We put it on more and then we dance. And she's like, Oh, can you guys not? And we're like, why? at her RSV16. We're like, I mean, we knew the DJ, but we're like, just make sure, make sure whatever you do, you play this song, even if it's only for like one minute. But you gotta play it because we can't throw all this money into her friggin' party and not make her like uh just a little bit uncomfortable in front of her friends.

SPEAKER_01

So like it's not it's our right, it's all right as parents. Like, do you know what we went through for you foes?

SPEAKER_05

Seriously.

SPEAKER_01

I'm gonna do this until the day I die. And once I die, I'm gonna haunt you and still and make you uncomfortable on a whole different plane. Damn it.

SPEAKER_06

So do you guys okay? So I went to high school in the early 90s, okay? Okay, I graduated in '94. Um, do you guys remember a band called Digital Underground?

SPEAKER_02

Underground. Okay.

SPEAKER_06

And you remember the Humpty Dance, right? Yes. Absolutely. So, so that's that's my high school years, right? That's uh so that that age of music I love.

SPEAKER_03

So my my life we also were in high school in the 90s, just a little later in the 90s. Okay. I don't know what you're talking about. I haven't hit high school yet, right?

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, no, bitch older than me. Wow.

SPEAKER_03

By like a month, but still.

SPEAKER_01

Little guest finished telling his story. We can stop telling how old I am. Thank you. Sorry, sorry, mom.

SPEAKER_06

Wow. I'm gonna see her later. Okay, hump to dance. Um sorry. So uh the you know, my last name is Pound. So my daughter who is 19, she's rolling in the car, she's rolling in the car with me one day, and Humpty Dance comes on Spotify or whatever, you know, Spotify AI DJ, right? And uh and it comes on, and I'm like, uh and I'm like changing the words, and she's like, I don't know how you do that so quickly. And I was like, you gotta understand, we we we we wanted to be these guys when I was in high school, you know, and I mean that L Cole J, you know, um, even to a degree MC Hammer. And uh, I mean that was the era, and so um, so she's like, Okay, well, you know, can you do it to like I was a kid? And I'm like, Yeah, you drink a ball of similar you got in your shelf, so just let me introduce myself, you know, and she's like, Don't ever do that again.

SPEAKER_01

I'm actually vibing with it, like, oh god, I'm like, keep going.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, she's like another verse, yeah. And then she's like, uh, um, and and we like changed underground to pound, you know, and uh it was it was it was funny, but she she's like, Don't ever do that again. So every time now we're in the car, um, she I I you know, something like that comes on, and I'll I'll change it, especially like if something like way stupid, like Ice Ice Baby or something like that comes on, you know. Uh you know, I was like, Look, we you know, I I can remember every word to all of these songs. I can't remember why I went to the kitchen, you know, and and she's like, well, and she looks over at me and she goes, you know what? I don't think I want to have kids. And I said, What what why? And I'm like, this should be good, you know. And I'm like, why? And she's like, Well, they just seem like they're more worth than their work. And I'm like, Yeah, I feel you.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, they are, they totally are.

SPEAKER_06

You know, so then she looks at me, she looks at me, and she's like, That's not nice, you know.

SPEAKER_03

Hey, you just you can't have nice and honest.

SPEAKER_00

Like, all right, I'm agreeing with you. I what do you want me to do? A disagree with you and make you have kids. You're you're right, you're right.

SPEAKER_06

You know, I I think it's hilarious that these guys think that they know more than us, you know, coming um every single day down a road that we we are traveling like I'm divorced, and uh my kids are with my first wife, and I love it when my kids try to get me to talk junk about their mom, you know, and I'm I'm just like, Do you do you think I'm dumb? You know, I mean, seriously, you think I'm that dumb, you know?

SPEAKER_00

Not setting me up, yeah.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, we've been divorced almost 15 years, so it's not like I've got you know held grudges, you know, anymore. And she's like, Well, mom said this, and I was like, That's funny. I talked to your mom about an hour ago. Yeah, oh okay.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, you guys probably communicate better than parents are still together in the same household.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, I mean, she's remarried, I'm remarried. I mean, that's you know, over and done with. Um, her mother knows to stay away from me, my mother knows to stay away from them, you know. I mean, yeah, so it's amazing how the mothers think that they run relationships, you know, and um and I I I just I just you know, I I think that their their opinion, like I'll tell my mom, uh you know, she'll be like, Well, this is what you need to do. I was like, Well, that's good, mom. I'm damn near 50 years old, you know.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, my mom still tells me like every day something I should or shouldn't be doing. And I'm like, okay, thanks.

SPEAKER_01

Well, I still get the hey, what am I doing with my life? I'm like, I I don't know. Tell what are you doing? Tell me, I don't know. What are you doing? Here are your options. Pick one, let me know which one you pick. Good luck with that. Um I'd learned my lesson. I'm like, I'm staying out of it. I I'll support you, whatever you want to do, but leave me the out of it. I gotta censure myself, not really.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, my mom, my mom's almost 80. And um she'll call me and be like, you know, I just don't know about this whole election thing. And I'm like, mom, you don't know, you know, I don't talk about politics. Yeah, but you have an opinion. I do have an opinion. My opinion is that I'm not gonna talk about politics. And she's like, she's like, Well, I just don't know what to do. I said, Mom, you shouldn't be worrying about that. And I'm like, number one, you're probably not gonna be alive until the next president anyway. And and number two, what you should be doing is getting like a bus, you know, a senior citizen bus to pick you up and take you to play bingo or something like that. Don't they have like where you can walk around the home of patio shows or something like that? I wouldn't do that.

SPEAKER_03

Do you um sorry? And and we we're not gonna talk about politics if you don't want to. That's that's totally fine. I'm just curious, do you not talk about it, period, or do you only talk about it or not talk about it with certain people?

SPEAKER_06

Okay, so here's now okay, if me and you are sitting at a bar, yeah, I'll get into it. Yeah, okay. Do I have an opinion? Yes. Um, my opinion most of the time, and I'll tell you one my opinion that I would say to you at a bar, I'll tell you to you right now. I think both sides are stupid. You know, um, I think all three or if you if you cut if you All three sides. I think all three sides are stupid. Um, but I don't talk about it, I don't talk about it on any of my podcasts, I don't talk about it on stage because um I have an audience that's taken me a long time to uh develop and I don't want to split that. And when you talk about splitting that, it's so divisive. I think that if if somebody were to come up with a party called the common sense party, and they were to say, Hey Cab, you know, let's take pieces from here and pieces from here, I would say number one, don't put anybody who can't speak coherently on any stage. Yeah, you know, um you know, and that's and and that hits, you know, you know, either side. I I I I said number one, don't put anybody over 60 years old up there either.

SPEAKER_03

You know, I mean part of the problem, like personally, is that I think sometimes the party lines become the focus rather than the candidate.

SPEAKER_04

Right.

SPEAKER_03

And then if you take out the party lines, if you take out the Electoral College, people only have their campaign. And I think I mean I'm I'm not like a police person. I'm not like I I'm just like average, you know, Joe Schmoe. But I think that so much of of politics gets caught up in the lines that it's like, well, I don't care if this candidate has everything that I've ever hoped for in a candidate, they're not in my party, so therefore I won't vote for them. Versus if everyone just had their own platform to stand on, you could have three or four or five candidates, and it's like, well, what do you stand for? And but then that that's the one that I want. And also, I think that it's stupid that if you are registered as a Republican, you can't vote in a Democratic Party primary. Right because come November one of those people might be your president. So I think that that sucks too. Like maybe if you know each side could vote in the primary or pri you know, primaries were just open. Right, like it it it wouldn't matter, like oh Republican primary, you have to be registered a Democrat. Yeah, because let's be honest, one of these people could be your president, even if they're not quote in your party. But then at least you have a say, some say, because maybe if you're Democrat, your Democratic candidate didn't win, but the Republican guy you liked won, or you know, vice versa.

SPEAKER_04

Um I don't know.

SPEAKER_03

I just I don't know. I like there's just so many things wrong, and I don't know the first thing to fix it, but that would be like my uneducated.

SPEAKER_01

I tell someone 10% of the country is gonna vote left regardless. They don't care, they're gonna vote it regardless. 10% is gonna vote right regardless. They don't care. The rest of us, 80, thinks the whole thing is trash and just throw it away.

SPEAKER_03

And and that's for like the those of us who vote, because not everybody even votes.

SPEAKER_01

So I mean, and then and then those aren't voting because it's trash. You know what I mean?

SPEAKER_06

I mean, they're just like I can tell you with 100% certainty as it sits right now, I do not know who I'm voting for. I'm part of the middle. I I don't subscribe to the far right, I don't subscribe to the far left. You know, I make a uh you know, educated decision. Um, I want to know where our 40 somethings went, you know. I was a big Bill Clinton fan. Um, I was a uh to a degree, I mean, I didn't really see much difference other than September 11th and you know, uh a war in Iraq between ideology-wise, between Clinton and W. And um, and then I you know, I was a big fan of Barack Obama. Um you know, I thought those guys were cool. You kind of wanted to have I mean, I'd really love to have a beer with Bill Clinton.

SPEAKER_03

Um that's what I say every single time is like who do I want to have a beer with?

SPEAKER_06

Right, right. I mean, I and and W, I know he didn't drink when he was president, but I mean Obama literally had people coming to the White House to have a beer to settle arguments.

SPEAKER_03

Didn't he have like his own brewery or something? Yeah, I I don't I don't know about that, but uh I I thought what uh somebody made like beer in the White House. I thought it was Obama. I couldn't.

SPEAKER_06

Um I know Andrew Jackson distilled like uh whiskey there. Yeah, but that was a while ago.

SPEAKER_03

Just a couple of years back a few.

SPEAKER_06

But uh I I just I just think the whole thing. I don't I don't want to uh the reason I if you pick a side, you gotta you know, if you're in entertainment or in the public eye in any way, shape, or fashion, even on this medium, if you pick a side, then you gotta you you gotta stick with that side, you know, and the party loyalty thing, we we have, you know, I'm a history guy, we have Alexander Hamilton to thank for that because he pissed Thomas Jefferson off so bad that he created a two-party system. You know, back in the election of uh a little before the um when John Adams became president.

SPEAKER_01

Thanks a lot, dude.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah. And he got a very popular musical named after him because of it.

SPEAKER_01

Really? I haven't heard of it.

SPEAKER_06

And people wonder, people wonder why he got shot.

SPEAKER_03

My bad.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, I was on a sorry.

SPEAKER_03

No, no, go ahead.

SPEAKER_06

I was on a history podcast not too long ago, and they asked me about that, and I was like, Yeah, don't get your history from Broadway. Yeah, about 25% of it isn't correct.

SPEAKER_01

But it's so much better though.

SPEAKER_06

It is entertaining. You know what I like about it? What I like about it is it brought what you know, it brought it it brought history to a new audience that wouldn't have learned the story of the Founding Fathers, you know, before, but it brought to history into a different, you know, just a different way, you know, and I think with Lynn Manuel Miranda that and in the heights and and thing, I'm a big musical uh theater fan. And I I just think with Hamilton, you know, screw if it's right or not. I mean, you know, just one thing that's wrong in it that bothers me is that they depict that Aaron Burr challenged him to a duel because he didn't back him for president, and that's incorrect. It actually happened four years after that when he didn't back him for governor of New York.

SPEAKER_02

I didn't know that. That I knew.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, so but the musical depicts.

SPEAKER_02

Magnus is a smart one.

SPEAKER_05

You know, only today.

SPEAKER_03

No, no, no. But like in general, knowledge, religion, history, you usually know more than me.

SPEAKER_06

I just talk more. Let's talk about religion. There's another thing you're not supposed to talk about.

SPEAKER_01

I know. We're talking about all the things we don't supposed to talk about. That's what we do. We have rules. But we respect your rules of non-rules.

SPEAKER_03

Oh, speaking of which, like we we hold on. We are like kind of of the camp of like we try to be respectful of like all-encompassing things. But when we have opinions, especially like on like just when it's us, we'll we'll sometimes we get on our soapbox and we'll say shit. And we're just like, you know what? I don't want to alienate people, but if at the same time, like I can't be somebody that I'm not if I if I feel strongly about something. So we really try.

SPEAKER_01

To be fair, we also don't have anything to lose. I mean, so we're like, fuck it. Uh I'm sorry, my legs are falling. My body is um we had very numb.

SPEAKER_06

We yeah what started the whole fiasco at Unfiltered Studios was that me and um a guy named Beebs and a guy named St. Joe were uh behind me. We we we are had a show called Unfiltered, and um we would have like guests on and stuff like that. And yeah, I I if you don't know Biebes very well, he's pretty conservative, pretty reserved. He's actually he's gonna kill me for telling people this, but he's actually an ordained Baptist minister, which makes the dynamic, especially between him and me, interesting. But and then you put Saint Joe in. I went to religious school for for nine years, so and it's it's affected me. And um, and Saint Joe is a full-blown, like mass going Catholic, right?

SPEAKER_03

So we had this uh grew up Catholic.

SPEAKER_06

We had this um guest on, and I had been a tad bit critical of the Catholic Church, like publicly, and they literally just asked me, and she she said, Well, you know, do you um do you mind if I asked you a pointed, very pointed question to you that might offend you? And I'm like, you can't offend me. And she's like, okay, and I said, but you I would I would brace yourself for the response. And and she goes, Why do you hate Catholics? And I said, Never once out of my mouth to say I actually respect Catholics. I have no problem with Catholics, no problem with Catholicism. I grew up in the church, you know. I said, I I find it, you know, I don't find it offensive that you asked me that question. I said, but you're not gonna like the answer. I said, I have no problem with Catholicism. I have a problem with moving around priests after they molest little boys. And I said, Do you have a problem with that too? And she's like, she just gives me this look, and then the other guy's like, All right, we'll uh we'll be right back. You know, right?

SPEAKER_01

I mean, that's like this is why they teach lawyers don't ask a question you don't know the answer to already. Don't ask a question that you're not prepared for the answer.

SPEAKER_02

Right.

SPEAKER_01

Lisa and I we want the answer. Like we're we're actually like we're hoping for those answers.

SPEAKER_03

Because you know, that's just we are we should No, but I a hundred percent agree with you. I think that's it it's it's hard when that's the behavior to then defend and say, like, oh well, why do you you know why do Catholics get a bad rep? And it's like, well, when you protect people because yeah, they're they're are priests or whatever, but they're still people. And when they're doing things that hurt other people, especially when it's children, you can't say like we preach love and and and good values, and then you're sweeping it under the rug and you're making it okay, and it's not okay. It's absolutely not okay. So you have to address it. And then also, I have a problem with people in general who are like, I'm a good Christian, whatever. I was I was just gonna say religious, but okay. But like I'm and it's and every time you hear that sentence, it's because they just did something shitty. Shady. And it's like no, no, no, no, no, no. You wouldn't have to tell me how good of a person you are if you didn't just do something shitty. Shitty. Let's just be a good person, not because you're Christian or religious or Catholic or Baptist or whatever. Just be a nice fucking person, just be a morally sound person. You could worship the sun for all I care. Okay, I got a pretty mushroom growing in my mulch. You could worship that mushroom, just so long as you're like a good human being. Don't hurt people.

SPEAKER_06

Love your do you guys watch the Big Bang Theory?

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, I haven't.

SPEAKER_06

So there's a character uh played by Mialik uh or uh Miyambialic. Yes, her name is Amy Farah Fowler, and she says that she's not against the the idea of a deity, but she is baffled by one that takes attendance. And so one person once told me, again, d just like you said, um if you're gonna ask me a question, uh uh a very a maverick, a loose canon, if you will, that you truly one of the reasons I uh my wife says that she married me is because I it's an adventure, you never know what's gonna come out of your mouth. I love that. You know, and and so you know, this person asks me, Well, you should go to church. And I'll just people like that who ask questions like that really hate the answer why. Because I do it to my kids all the time. Well, you should do that. Why? You know, you know, you should go to church. Why? Well, because it's just it's just a good place. Why is it a good place? You know, I mean, my house on Sunday morning while I'm watching pregame for the NFL, that's a good place.

SPEAKER_01

That's a good place, too.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, yeah. I mean, when I'm down there tailgating for the Jags game, you know, the you know, the the Pittsburgh Steelers are in town, that's a good good place. And I said, I don't I don't need to to be judged down at church. So she goes, well, no, no, no. Church is the least judgmental place on earth, and I'm like, bullshit.

SPEAKER_01

Probably just the opposite, dude.

SPEAKER_06

Every Easter you'll you'll have this this somebody walking down there. I can't believe she wore that hat. You know, I mean, give me a fucking break.

SPEAKER_03

And and and even more so, especially if it's like Easter or Christmas Eve or Palm Sunday, then you get everybody like, oh, look at all the people who just show up on Easter.

SPEAKER_01

It's like yeah, the day religiously.

SPEAKER_03

Yes, yes, yes.

SPEAKER_01

But I think that's silly me. I think I can like worship or praise or pray or talk to whomever I in the cover of my own home. Silly me, and only hears me in church. Oh, I'm sorry. I was oops, my bad. I think that church is a beautiful place.

SPEAKER_03

And I think that if you want to go there to have your relationship with your with your God or or you know, I'm trying to just make it like you know, synagogue, church, whatever, temple, wherever your house of worship is, I think that it's a beautiful place. And if you want to go there to have like kind of all of your senses stimulated for that worship, I think that you go ahead, you want to hear the priest, the minister, the rabbi preach. Awesome. But I also think that, like you said, it's possible to have that relationship from anywhere. If if I'm having, if I if I have that relationship and I feel like I can communicate when I am in my quiet, I'm comfortable, like in my in my bathtub. You know, I don't think that your God discriminates on where you are so long as you're like following the teachings, you know, and and you're doing right from the inside out. I know that there's like a level of like respect for when you're in the holy house, but not everybody has also the ability to get there, whether it's you you have agoraphobia. No, that's is that is that the one where you go outside? No, yeah. I was thinking of arachnophobia. Agoraphobia.

SPEAKER_01

Agoraphobia's correct.

SPEAKER_06

Um isn't arachnophobia spiders?

SPEAKER_03

That's a spider one, yeah. Um or you have some kind of physical disability, you have a financial disability. There's a lot of reasons why people can't get somewhere. So it's you know, like if you can develop that relationship and you want that relationship and you can do it from the comfort of like, you know, your basement or whatever, like do you, girl, do you.

SPEAKER_01

Or maybe because they were just so judgy and they wanted to worship their God in peace. I don't know, just an idea. Just a thought.

SPEAKER_06

Okay. So I I'm gonna I'm going to preface this statement with with with a with a disclaimer. Um they there is no other sect of people that I like to mess with than the religious people. Okay, they're not they're more fun to mess with, even more fun uh because I thought Trump people were fun to mess with, but these people are fun. Number two, I'm so insulted. I I would say that 50% of my act, 35% of my act is about these people, okay. Um, and I had I am a very blue, which means not PG 13 comic. Okay. Um, so it took me a long time to figure out that that guy up there that tells me that if I don't do this and I don't do this and I don't do this and I don't do this, I'm going to hell, was just a dude. And he doesn't like the answer. How do you know? He doesn't like that answer because he's only got one answer to that question, and that's faith. And my point is, and this is what I tell people in my act, and I tell people all the time faith to me is like your political views, they should be personal. You know, a guy named George Carlin back in the 1990s wrote a set.

SPEAKER_01

I was gonna say you remind me of him very much so.

SPEAKER_06

He wrote a set about taking the Ten Commandments and making them two, okay, that you could you could combine all of these commandments into really two commandments. And he goes, unless you want to add a third, is keep thy religion to thyself, you know, and so um that I told you that story to tell you this story. One morning, me and Soon to be world famous wife on a Saturday. That's what I call my wife, sorry. Um I just don't know why she's gonna be world famous, because she saved my life on uh a number of occasions, and I think that that deserves soon to be world famous, so she is literally the only reason I'm here. Um and um so we went out one Saturday night and and had a little too much to drink. So when we wake up Sunday morning, we want to go eat a thing called Golden Corral, which is not good, but it's really good. It's not good for you at all, but it's really good. So we went there, and when we came back, it's like 11 o'clock Sunday morning or something like that, and there's a car in my driveway. Now I live in the forest, and I have a long driveway that you can't see my house from the road, so you have to know. Like you have to be up my driveway. And I have a turnaround, which we called the parking lot, and there, and anyhow, so there's a car there, and there's two guys standing outside of it, and I I put the car in the garage to tell Superby World Famous Wife to walk inside. I said, I got this, and she's like, Don't don't don't don't get arrested. And I said, I'm good. And so we go, uh, I go talk to them, and they're like, Um, we're from the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, and wanted to know if you have 30 minutes to talk about um your religious beliefs. And I said, Um, no, I don't have 30 seconds to talk about my religious beliefs, but I will say this I find it funny that you guys are knocking around doors, but you don't celebrate Halloween. Isn't that like shouldn't it be like your Christmas? You know, I mean, that's a holiday all about knocking on something.

SPEAKER_03

Uninvited at that, right? Uninvited and asking for something.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, and that's so pretty pleased with sugar on top. Get the fuck off my property, you know? Sorry, you can bleep that out.

SPEAKER_03

No, no, you you can say what's we don't bleep anything out.

SPEAKER_01

Like I don't know.

SPEAKER_03

With the exception of like, you know, being like derogatory comment of like people or whatever, other than that, it's a free-for-all. No.

SPEAKER_06

Have I said one of those yet? Not yet. Okay, okay. Wait, wait a while. It'll get there. I mean, don't bring up let's not let's stay away from the Philadelphia Phillies, New York Yankees, or New York Mets, and we're good.

SPEAKER_01

I think it's the end of our show now. All right, well.

SPEAKER_03

I'm okay. I like I said before. I mean, he didn't say the Boston Red Sox are the best. So I mean, okay, okay, okay. We're all good for now.

SPEAKER_01

All right, we won't cut this short, but you will be on a short leash. And I'm just joking.

SPEAKER_03

My my god, like I'm not a good one.

SPEAKER_01

That was like crickets for a hot second.

SPEAKER_03

But like my my Mother's Day gift is like oops, uh a little bit of an expensive purse, and it involved one of those teams.

SPEAKER_06

So I just won't say which, but can can I rank the one okay. I'm gonna rank okay.

SPEAKER_03

Well no, say whatever you want.

SPEAKER_06

Number one most hated, like on a punch you in the face level. Okay, if somebody is wearing these hats and I get a free shot at all three of them, who am I hitting first?

SPEAKER_03

I'm pretty sure it's gonna be the Yankees.

SPEAKER_06

No, it's gonna be somebody with a Philadelphia Phillies hat on. Oh okay. Why? Because they're they're their fans are the worst fans in all the sports. They're horrible. They have they punch horses when they win. I mean, and not just it's just Philly fans in general. Phillies, Eagles, Flyers, you know, um, Sixers, they're just they're just just Philly fans, you know. I don't know if you've ever been to Philly, but if you get a chance, pass.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, I have been.

SPEAKER_06

So my second would be. Well we live like an hour away. My second would be the New York Mets. The only reason is because they're in the same division as the Braves.

unknown

Yeah.

SPEAKER_06

Okay. Okay. Okay. And the Yankees, because and the third would be the Yankees, and this is why, is because they have no farm system. If they need another player, they just go buy him. Buy them. They have so much money. They're the evil empire. And they're easy, you know. And and and in 1996 and in 1999 to beat the Braves in a World Series. So, you know, that's where we're at. I hold grudges.

SPEAKER_01

I mean, you know what? His reasoning, I'm not really mad at his reasoning.

SPEAKER_06

No. But I do respect him. I respect the 29 championships. I'm a baseball fan. So you gotta respect.

SPEAKER_01

You're not wrong. I've been mad at it because it's like his his dislike is based on respect. So I'm like, okay, and then the Phillies, that's a different story. That's a that's a sound reason to fuck those guys with a PH, man.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah. I mean, mm-mm. I do I get fighting mad with Phillies. Dude, I troll them all the time on Twitter. Uh you know, I think horses.

SPEAKER_02

How is that even?

SPEAKER_06

Dude, they they when the Eagles won the um the when they beat the Patriots in 2017 in the Super Bowl. Um they literally had on video uh a uh a fan punching a horse. They have to grease the poles in Philly so people won't climb up them.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, no, I saw that. I know that.

SPEAKER_06

I mean it this is but that's okay though.

SPEAKER_01

But you know, okay, see I'm gonna go from like crazy sports fans to the whole social issue. I'm gonna I'm gonna put my soapbox before I get on it. I'm gonna take it and slide it back under my bed. Because, you know, I'm like, nope, nope, this is not the meeting, this is not the time or the place.

SPEAKER_06

I mean, I'm all about like being a passionate sports fan. I'm all about it. If you uh but I'm not about like you know getting you know doing things to call PETA in, you know. I mean, that's a problem. Yeah, yeah. If PETA gets called in because of your celebration, or like when the Red Wings win the Stanley Cup, you know, in Detroit they burn half the city down, you know. Um I mean, you know, if if the Jaguars here in Jacksonville won the Super Bowl, everybody here would be so damn shocked they wouldn't know what to do.

SPEAKER_00

They'll be like, wait, what?

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, wait, they'd be like, should we jump in the river? The river's three and a half miles long, you know, wide. Yeah, I mean, seriously, we we're who are these guys that I mean when we you know we were nine and eight last year and people didn't know what to do, you know. I mean, every time we went here for you guys when we make the playoffs, everybody's just like, do do we do we do we go to the game? Or do we know and then I remember we were down two years ago, we went to the playoffs to play the Chargers, and at halftime we were down 27 to nothing. And I was amazed, no one was leaving. No one was leaving, and I'm just like normally like during the game. I mean, because I mean, dude, it's the Jaguars, we're used to losing, right? So, you know, a regular season game, we're down 27 half the stadium at halftime, it's out in the parking lot drinking beer out of their their uh their trunks, right? But no one was leaving this game, and uh, we were just amazed, and the Jaguars came back and won it by one, you know, and uh in the in the waning seconds of the game, and that was the loudest I'd ever heard anything in Jacksonville, ever. You know, and uh, but it was amazing. And so I'd ask all these people like walking out, like, why didn't you leave? They're like, dude, we don't know when we're gonna get another playoff game, you know.

SPEAKER_02

We're just gonna stay right. I was there, I'm gonna stay there.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, that's why we didn't leave. And I'm like, that's exactly why we didn't leave. You know, we don't know when this is gonna happen again.

SPEAKER_01

It's like you're making history, you're part of history, like there's the Berlin Wall falling down, and then there's the Jaguars making a playoff game. So you're like, you're here, Berlin Wall, Jaguars.

SPEAKER_06

I can see how it's no, I'm saying I'm joking, but I'm serious, like it's momentous occasions, and then the very next week we got the the very, very high privilege to play Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs and lost.

SPEAKER_01

I mean, but you but you but you were there to play them, right? You know, that's saying something.

SPEAKER_06

We got a quarterback now, so we'll we'll be we'll be all right.

SPEAKER_01

I'm gonna look, I won't pray for you guys this year. Yeah, we'll be all right, you know, yeah. Yeah, so we'll have a special episode just for that when they yes, we're gonna have a special episode when they hit the playoffs again. We're gonna do like come on on, come on in. It might be three years down the road, but I mean, I I'm not going anywhere.

SPEAKER_06

You know, so I um um since this is we we've done a lot of the sass part and the the sip sis part. This was the iced tea and lemonade, and it's gone. So Sunday afternoons in Florida, there's not much to do. It's too hot outside, so you hear this a lot.

SPEAKER_01

You know, the the popping of the can. Yeah.

SPEAKER_06

And this is a raspberry iced tea and lemonade. I'm a little concerned about this one. I think I have good feelings about that one.

SPEAKER_03

Is it tart?

SPEAKER_06

That's pretty smooth, actually. Not a real big fan of raspberry, but uh I am a big fan of something that has alcohol in it that no sugar is added to it.

SPEAKER_01

So alcohol, no sugar, it's the winner. That's it.

SPEAKER_06

95 calories.

SPEAKER_01

Look at you're watching your watching your calorie intake.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, I have to. I I go to the doctor a lot and I get yelled at a lot. You would think that I'm married to my doctor. But uh I think doctors, they look at your thing and then they figure out, okay, I'm gonna yell at him about this this week, you know, because oh, look, his sugar looks good, so let's bitch at him about his cholesterol, you know. Or like two times ago, I went there. I never had blood pressure issues, ever, ever, ever. And sugar was good, cholesterol was good, everything's good, weights down, all this. I'm alive, you know. I'm not complaining. And he's like, Yeah, your blood pressure's too high. And I'm like, Well, I did just get off the phone with my ex-wife, so you know, um we just take this pressure again like in a half hour, like you should get a grace period. Yeah, and then my mom called, and we know how that goes, and she wanted to tell me about the girls down at you know, down at the uh the bingo parlor. And um, yeah, so he he's like, Yeah, we're gonna put you on blood pressure medication. So I literally I do this to my doctor all the time. I literally didn't take it for two weeks, right? I went back to him, blood pressure's fine. He's like, Oh, see, that medication's doing good. I'm like, dude, I didn't take it at all.

SPEAKER_01

I told you I just got a home on my ex-wife, like, hello.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, I said, I'm fine, you know. It was situational, but he he goes, Do you remember the last time that I told you to take something and you didn't take it? What happened? I was like, Yeah, I went up to the hospital for a week, you know.

SPEAKER_01

So you didn't tell me that. See, I was totally on your side, and so you know, you have a history of not listening to your doctor and your doctor being right.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, so he um, yeah, he they're typically right, you know, they typically don't want to get into a malpractice lawsuit.

SPEAKER_01

So they try to be right sometimes.

SPEAKER_06

I think they try they try to be right. I think you it's like these people that want to tell you, oh, these are people too I love to mess with. Okay. Um, I was on this podcast one time. He said, What and this is like during the pandemic, right? He's like, Well, where where where is your stance? Because I don't understand why wearing a mask is a political issue. So he's like, What's your stance on the wearing of the mask? Like that. And I said, Well, I'm I I think that if a doctor tells me to, I probably should do it. What if that doctor's Republican? I don't, I don't care. I I care that he um has a medical degree and knows like medical stuff. It's it's kind of like, you know, if this guy, if I have um if I have a heart attack and I need stents in before I operate on him, like, hey, are you a democrat?

SPEAKER_03

You know, I mean, what the fuck does that have to do with anything? I know the mask becoming a political issue was the dumbest thing.

SPEAKER_06

Like, I don't understand why it did. Why why is the mask a p you know? And then you get what you know, jerk off A, tell a jerk off B on a stage somewhere. Oh, you wear a mask all the time, and and and and and all this, and I really wish I could do voices, but um, yeah, you know, I uh it's like there are three people that I uh utterly baffled by, and and the COVID people, you know, the vaccine is laced with Hillary's blood, and you know, those people.

SPEAKER_01

No, I didn't hear that one. Yeah, listen, if it keeps them from getting COVID, bring it uh we can show blood. Okay, I've shared bodily fluids with worse people.

SPEAKER_06

I didn't so you know, and and it's just uh there there are people out there need to pick other things to be passionate about, you know, other than the masks into COVID, you know, or you know, um, I asked one time, I said, you know what, look, um, what if I were a single man and during COVID and I wanted to date another woman, but I'm supposed to wear a mask all the time. And let's just say we went out and had a nice dinner, nice date, things got kind of you know, you know, how long am I supposed to wear that mask?

SPEAKER_01

Like, like, you know, how many times do we have intercourse? Do I have to wear the mask? I don't know. How many is it like yes? Do you wear the mask during that's how many times do it could be it could be a new kink? Like after three and after three times are we doing it? Okay, we can take the mask off now, with mask on, condom off. Like, huh? What's the rules?

SPEAKER_06

Well, I'll tell you this. I I have three sisters, okay. And every one of them would tell you, two of them are idiots, but one of them's okay. And um, and I really hope they listen to this so they can hear me say that. And um, but all three of them would say that the first thing that they look for in a man is their teeth. Right? All three of them would say that.

SPEAKER_03

That's like one of the you know I will be honest, I I do look at men's teeth, and like a good set of teeth is very sexy.

SPEAKER_06

Right. So um if if you have the mask on all night, who who do you even know who you're talking to?

SPEAKER_01

I don't know if I like you if I kiss your teeth.

SPEAKER_03

I mean I I'm not saying that I'm just saying, but it would like to me it wouldn't be a deal breaker unless like all of your teeth are rotten. Like but other I mean, listen if I'm if I'm gonna be with somebody, it's gonna be for more than just their teeth. Sometimes it's a plus. It's like hot sauce, you know? Like I want my food to taste good, but hot sauce is also like a plus, you know.

SPEAKER_01

But sometimes the bad teeth it's not that they it's not if they don't have good teeth, it's if they have bad teeth.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

So it's not so much as you have to have great teeth, you just can't have bad teeth. So because I can't so yeah, but yeah, good teeth, yes.

SPEAKER_06

If it's great, I'm just saying, how do you find that out if you're wearing the the I don't know.

SPEAKER_01

Okay.

SPEAKER_06

You guys are gonna get busy with the damn mask on, you know.

SPEAKER_01

I mean I don't know. I don't know why I I mean I I just I what is the answer? Does anyone know the answer? Is that the titsy roll pop? I don't know. Wouldn't the world would never know? Okay. I mean, this is where you put like like you put on like the heavy duty mask and you take his mask off.

SPEAKER_03

Well, I know how you and then you like I got the answer. I got the answer. Oh, the clear, like you go, no, listen, listen. Here's the answer. You go back from each other, six feet apart, at least six feet apart, and then you use your phone and you're like and then you send it. And then you put your mask back on and you'd be like, here, here's the thing.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, you know, we could have been like, oh, that's that should have been the whole new dating thing. Like, take a selfie and just airdrop it.

SPEAKER_03

There you go.

SPEAKER_06

This whole this whole thing is showing everybody how ridiculous these covet rules were. You know, my favorite covet rule was the you go to the the grocery store, you gotta go up one aisle and down the other, down the other. And then you had these people that were like, you remember when you were in elementary school and you like stepped out of line and then that dude told on you? You had those fucking people, you know, who who were like who are like, oh, you're you're going the wrong way. There's nobody on the damn aisle. How do you are you following me? You know, I mean, you're going the wrong way, and and just these line monitor people, you know. I'm like, I'm sure I'm in a you know a corporate grocery store. There's cameras around, you know, and I was waiting for somebody to go, uh get back on the right wheel. Seriously, you know, these these rules were dumb. And my favorite, we have an outlet mall um in St. Augustine, Florida. It's it's a major tourist attraction, and my wife makes me go down there against my will. And um, but she's soon to be world famous, so it doesn't matter. Um, so there's a Nike outlet there, big, big shoe guy. Okay, big, big shoe guy, me. And so I like to go to the Nike outlet and buy things that I absolutely don't need. And they made you wait in line to get into the store that is easy 10,000 square feet.

SPEAKER_03

They did the same thing up here in like Lowe's and Home Depot, and it's like Yeah. Okay.

SPEAKER_06

You know, it's like like Cost you guys have Costco up there, you know. Like Costco, $100,000, $100,000 square foot warehouse. You can't tell me that I can't say six feet away from somebody else.

SPEAKER_03

You know, I mean I mean, I think on a realistic like non-joking level, I think that nobody knew what the fuck to do and was just trying to like have some semblance of organization and order in order to keep appearances and and try their hardest to mitigate the best of their ability. Nobody knew what to do. And then like the rules become so arbitrary and then like stupid because people don't listen.

SPEAKER_01

So if we were listening to like the one or two serious important ones, we wouldn't have to have had the 600 unimportant ones.

SPEAKER_03

Right, right.

SPEAKER_06

I I I agree. I just like pointing out how ridiculous the whole thing is. It was fun though.

SPEAKER_01

I kind of I was just telling Lisa not too long ago. If we can have that again without the life-threatening part, like I totally like, you know, at the time well, I'm still disabled, but I wasn't working at time. I won't I'm on disability. That was my life anyway. So I'm like, oh wait, I really have a reason not to leave the house. I'm winning. Um that was amazing. I kind of won't go back into quarantine. I'm tired of being an adult. I'm tired of being nice to people. I want to do quarantine again. Um, paid would be nice, but without the life-threatening people going to hospital, like without that part. But we should have like I don't know, once a quarter quarantine. Yeah, I think it's a health quarantine, maybe.

SPEAKER_06

I think it's funny how you guys remember in um in do you guys know who Nate Bargatsky is?

SPEAKER_01

No.

SPEAKER_06

Okay, so he's a he's a he's a comic, and he he he tells a story similar to what I'm about to tell, but it's very true for people, yeah, certainly our age. Um, you remember in your 20s when somebody was like, go out, you didn't even ask where you were going. You're just like, Yeah, I'm going. Yeah, I mean, I you know, you're 20 what, 21, 22, yeah, where you want to go. We I mean, we could we could be going to set someone on fire. I don't care. You know, we're we're going down. You know, I'm still down. Yeah, you know, and a lot of people in their 30s, they're just you know, they start to ask questions, okay, where are we going? You know, you know, how late are they open? You know, is it loud? Um I'm gonna talk. Yeah, I'm gonna I'm gonna I'm gonna I'm gonna drive separately, you know, you know. And uh and now at 49 years of age, people will be like, I'm not going. Yeah, I'm I'm not going. Um, yeah, I I'm I'm I'm I'm pissed off that you asked me in the first place.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, Lisa is probably the only person that can get me to say, okay, I'll do it. I'll go.

SPEAKER_06

Other than that, I probably my best friend went to the Philippines, got back, had COVID, got sick, went there, and I'm still like, I'm not coming over to your house. It's like a 30-minute drive. I'm not doing that. And uh and he's like, he's like, I was in the Philippines for three weeks, and you didn't you know you come and welcome me home. I mean, I called you. How about this? I'll FaceTime you. Yeah, how about that? Yeah, we'll go we'll go that route if you want to see me. So last night was the first time in a while that we had we had gone every so often him and his wife and my wife will go out to dinner, but uh it's like a pulling teeth. It's just like, okay, like I don't know if you guys in your house play this game, but we play this game in my house six nights a week. It's called What's for Dinner? You know, and and and and and it's called that. So the rule in my house is if it's not decided by seven o'clock. Now I'm full-bledged sweeter, so I grew up eating at like nine o'clock at night. Okay. My wife is from pro is a as a Yankee as we call them down here, but she's from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. So um they eat late up over there, you know, because people would be getting off the steel mill and all that crap. So they eat late there. So she, you know, we we sometimes we don't eat dinner until nine, nine thirty, right? So the rule in my house is that if it's not decided by seven, it's one of two places. It's chilies or taco bell. That's where we're going. So if you can't decide by seven o'clock, and I have to decide, it's chilies or taco bell. You can figure something out, chilies, I got a big menu, or you can get some soft tacos. One of the two. Yeah. Both of which I'm not supposed to eat. Um yeah. So um, what I told my wife is that I have a business opportunity. I'm going to create a restaurant called I Don't Know. So whenever I say, Hey, where do you want to go for dinner? Uh, and you say, I don't know, I don't know. That's where we're going. And I guarantee you the place is packed.

SPEAKER_03

That's brilliant. You better get on it before somebody steals your idea.

SPEAKER_06

I'm pretty sure somebody already has that idea. I'm pretty sure that doesn't matter.

SPEAKER_01

But no, I think they have, but they're sitting down just like you are, and they're like, Oh, someone else is gonna do it. Yeah, I think I think it's in someone's brain. I think you should just run with it. Run with it, just jump, get off the call with us, and just go make that happen. I'm just joking, don't get off the call with us.

SPEAKER_06

You know, but uh I mean, I just I don't know if you guys play that game in your house.

SPEAKER_01

I'm sure people listening to us everyone plays that game, but you know what's really sad when you play that game by yourself and you still can't get an answer, that's that's kind of kind of just you know what fucked.

SPEAKER_06

I have a question for you guys. Okay, I would gather that, and correct me if I'm wrong, but I would gather that the majority of your audience might be female.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, I think so, yes.

SPEAKER_06

Okay, um, because like if somebody were to ask me Unfiltered Sports Weekly, and they're like, hey, do any females uh listen to you? I I think Mama D does, you know. I mean, yeah, I I mean it was it's a male-dominated thing, but I got a question. And I asked my wife this the other day, and she couldn't answer me. How come? Let's just I'm not pointing anybody out here. I'm just saying a husband and a wife. Okay, and maybe maybe your audience is gonna get a kick out of this. How come? Like you could be watching TV all night and doing things around a house, and somebody's taking out trash and somebody's washing dishes, and so you know, doing your normal cleanup. You sit at the end of the night, you're watching a little blue bloods or whatever you like to watch on TV, you know, and uh my wife's a big new kids fan, so when you think of Donnie Wahlberg, she's watching, and uh, so anything like that, and you really haven't talked all night long, right? And then you're like, hey, what time you want to go to bed? Okay, Fallon's coming on. We go, you know, and all that. So you shut the TV off, you go into bed, you get you take your medicine, you brush your teeth, whatever, you lay down in the bed, and you're about 75% asleep, and the wife wants to pop you 20 fucking questions.

SPEAKER_01

Okay.

SPEAKER_06

Why? Okay, why does that happen? Why? I'm asking, why?

SPEAKER_01

Why, damn, why? I know for me, I'm all during the day, I'm just so busy adulting. I'm adulting for myself, I'm adulting for my grown child, I'm adulting for my adult co worker, I'm adulting all the time. So by the end of the day, I'm actually able to relax, relate, release, and get my brain working. And I'm like, okay. In your case, your wife is like, okay, honey. She probably just now had the Mental bandwidth to like, okay, this is what I want to talk to you about.

SPEAKER_06

It's never a yes or no question. It's always a question that you know that that I have I have to give like a long answer to. You know, it's just like, hey, what do you what are your feelings on the Magna Carta? I don't I I I I I I'm surprised you know what the Magna Carta is.

SPEAKER_03

I mean, I could say for me, sometimes it's like when you're having that that veg time, you know, and you're watching the shows or whatever, sometimes you don't want to ask the questions because you want to zone out. You want to have that moment of just like losing yourself in the TV and the yeah, you know. And then when you're laying in bed and it's like then that's when your mind is going and and the things pop in. I mean, I don't talk about the Magna Carter, but I might pop like 20 other questions.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I find I do too. Cause it's just I feel like it's just there's nothing else going on to distract, and it's kind of like that private one-on-one time, and we can just talk about whatever it is that has been on my mind for it all day.

SPEAKER_06

Or you can answer questions right when you lay down, not let's wait 10 minutes, let's get Kevin into, you know, he's getting there.

SPEAKER_01

Wait, until it takes you 10 minutes to fall asleep. Okay, so that's another thing. Men my wife hates me.

SPEAKER_06

My wife hates me. I can fall asleep like that.

SPEAKER_01

Able to fall asleep quicker than we are.

SPEAKER_06

So we don't realize you're already like that's because you're thinking of all these damn questions, and you should be just focusing on on getting to sleep, you know.

SPEAKER_01

You might be onto something. Yeah, maybe we can stop with delting.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, you know, I mean, no, I mean, yeah, you okay. That's funny. Well, this is this is you know, if anybody's ever read the book Men A From Mars, uh Women Are From Venus, um, kind of deal. But uh I tell I I used to tell my sister this all the time because my sister can get on a on a uh we had a very serious parrot, so we kind of had to make each other laugh. And we uh we I she could go, she she's she can get on a on a I hate men kick, you know. I mean she she can't hasn't had the best best uh uh tell your sister to call me.

SPEAKER_01

I've been there.

SPEAKER_06

We could commiserate together, you know, and um and so I'll be like, hey, why do you um why do you hate men? You know, and she's just like because all of you no no no no don't put it, don't put it, we'll bring it over here, you know. Um you guys anyhow, so she's like, Well, men are crazy. I'm like, Oh, men are crazy, all right. All crazy, right? And so it leads led us to a rule that men or women is people, you know, are all crazy. It's just whether they're crazy is at a manageable level, right?

SPEAKER_03

Are is are our crazies compatible?

SPEAKER_06

Right, yeah. My crazy matches, you're crazy. That's that's in Deadpool. I don't know if you guys have seen the new Deadpool.

SPEAKER_03

Yes, the new one, no.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, that the well, I just saw a new one last night, but that was from from the first one. Yeah, the uh My Crazy Matches, you're crazy. Yeah, yeah, it's from the first one, but um um yeah, you might get to see a good movie, Gusy Deadville Wolverine. It's pretty funny. Um, but yeah, all so if you're crazy is not manageable, you know. So she she's like, Well, how do you find out if somebody's crazy is manageable? And I said, Well, is a man or a woman? So woman. I said, Well, just go find her closet and ask her which one which was a favorite pair of shoes, and then hide one of them. Well, you'll see if she's crazy or not, real quick.

SPEAKER_01

Real quick. That's dangerous. Why would you tell a man to do that? Like, no, yeah, no, you don't you must not like him.

SPEAKER_06

Like, that's another good another good way to tell if she's crazy, if she's firing a uh pointing a gun at you, probably a little crazy.

SPEAKER_03

I mean, listen, um one of us might be uh guilty.

SPEAKER_01

I mean, I've never I'm I'm I don't think of no, I've never done that to a person in the world.

SPEAKER_06

If you've been dating two weeks and she calls your mother, crazy. You know, I mean that's a little nuts.

SPEAKER_01

Okay, that's crazy. That's crazy.

SPEAKER_06

That's a little nuts.

SPEAKER_01

That is crazy. Although I've had a couple of dates where I've had dates with the mother on the first day, so it's not my fault.

SPEAKER_03

Remember, yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

Two more potluck episode for more on that story.

SPEAKER_01

Uh yeah, yeah. Yeah, yeah. That's at least crazy. But you know, you're not wrong with that one. That is, yeah, if she's calling the mom two weeks, yeah. Unless she already knew the mom before she knew you.

SPEAKER_03

I really like that shoe one though. I had a heart palpitation right there. I I did too. I didn't like I'm trying to think how I would react if I first of all, if I couldn't find my shoe and I'm like staring at my shoes, and then second, if I found out it's because he hid it, I think I would find it and then throw it at his face. I mean it's his shoe.

SPEAKER_06

It's like the equivalent of hiding the remote control for the TV for a man, because we we will we will literally look everywhere for it except going on the TV and just hitting the power, you know.

SPEAKER_03

I mean you go all around the house to look for instead of just going. Do you know how many times I call my husband? I'm like, what the hell did you do with the remote? I can't find it. And he's like, You lose all trust in relationships when you can't find the remote. I don't know, there's gotta be like I can't find it. Like, you gotta come home from work and find it. Like, I'm the one.

SPEAKER_06

And you know, you know, here comes dad joke number two. It's always in the last place you look.

SPEAKER_00

But sorry, that that that's a bad one right there. It's only a half a second if we to catch on with that one.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, yeah. What what made you get into podcasting and comedy?

SPEAKER_06

Um so a comedy, a drunk bet. Um, okay, so I had always like I like writing. And I'd always kind of like had um just just these ideas. And so a friend of mine was a comic, and uh guy named Jason, and me and him used to go to like these open mic things, and he would get up there and tell stupid jokes, and I'd be like, Look, man, I'd thought I think you're smarter than that. You know, try this, you know, and write this joke for him. He'd go up and tell it and kill, you know. And then I remember riding with him to a show one time, and he had kind of like a he was kind of like a larger dude, and he had like a belly, and so I was like, you know what you should do? You should get up there and you should just don't say anything and just tell the people said, I know what you're thinking. When is the baby due? And um, and he did that and it killed, you know. And then like I remember he I wrote a joke for him about um ESPN not playing sports anymore because I turned it on the other day, and uh there they had guys playing dominoes on there, and that's that's not sports, that's you know, five old guys with the gout, you know. And I I see and um and and so he uh we but we were telling this as you know 28, 29 year old, you know, 25 to 30 year old guys, and and that's funny to us now, but back then, you know, to the crowds, you know, that we were talking to who were also 30-ish, they didn't know what the fuck the gout was, you know. And um, anyhow, so one night we were um at a place called the Hourglass Pub. He's like, he's like, You should you just go do it. You keep complaining how I'm telling the jokes, why don't you tell it better? And I had written I used to do this email like of like jokes and stuff and send it out, and people would be like, Hey, that's hilarious, you know. And uh, and so I'd written a joke that he thought was funny. He had actually asked me if he could have it, and this was around that time, and I said, Well, let me go up there and tell the tell the joke. And I still tell this joke every set that I do to this day. And this joke is 20 years old. And um, anyhow, so I get up there, and it was around the time that um Florida, the Florida Gators are playing the Ohio State Buckeyes in the national championship. And I and I said, you know, I was talking about that, and Florida was so underrated or so so much of an underdog that there's no way they could beat Ohio State. And um, so I told everybody to bet against the Gators. Well, the Gators won that game, if you if you don't remember. And so these people came back to me, and I'm telling this joke on stage, but people are just like, dude, get to the point, just kind of like you guys are right now. Uh and so um, you know, people came back to me and they're like, Hey, look, you know, we lost all this money. I thought you said that you were you were a genius. And I said, I am a genius. I said, but geniuses are wrong from time to time. And then people look, huh? You know, and it's I'm like, well, when I think of a genius, what do you think of? You think of like a brain surgeon, like a rocket scientist, or something like those guys who who who uh work for NASA, you know, those guys are geniuses, right? Yeah, and now I got everybody like bobbing their head, right? And it's like, okay, how let's take a step further. Those guys who built the space shuttle, those guys are geniuses, right? Now you got everybody, you know, and they're like, dude, get to the point. Like, well, that thing blew up twice, you know. I've been doing about I've been doing stand-up. That's what that's what got me into it.

SPEAKER_03

Okay. That's cool though.

SPEAKER_06

Some people it depending on where you tell that joke, though, some sometimes it doesn't get that kind of reaction. It'll get a it'll get a ooh, you know. And then usually I'll preface it with you guys want to hear something's really wrong, you know, and then I mean the whole crowd is like, yeah, who doesn't?

SPEAKER_03

You know, I mean we are Gen X. I know I watched one of them blow up in the classroom.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

And then it was like, okay, we're gonna shut this off now and let's talk about our math lesson.

SPEAKER_01

It was like it kind of went on to the next thing. Yeah.

SPEAKER_06

Um it would amaze you guys of the risks that I take in front of people. It will, I mean, that because I think comedy is the last bastion of free speech. So, and I think that if you walk through the doors of a comedy club or a restaurant that's having comedy night or anything like that, you know, a showcase, or you're going to see a comedian, you need to leave your your bad attitude, your political beliefs, your religious beliefs just at the door, man, because we're all here to have a good time. My job is to make you laugh. If you can't look, Daniel Tosh said, and we could we comics call this the Daniel Tosh rule. He said that if you're one of those people that don't think there's something funny about everything, then me and you are just not gonna be friends. I could go because I think I I I've made fun, I've made fun of some things that people are just like, eh, maybe you shouldn't, maybe you shouldn't go after cancer, Kevin. You know, I mean it it's just it's just yeah, I let my my my government name slip out there. Um, but uh you know you want me to bleep it later? Oh, I don't care. You know, if people can't, you know, see where I got from Kev. Yeah, I mean, you see where we got there, you think my parents came up with that? You know, uh my my mom's like, no, I want to name, you know, oh it it we thought it was gonna be a girl and her name was gonna be Deb, so just put a K on it and be all it'll be okay.

SPEAKER_03

I I I I I do agree with you about the whole joking and laughing because at the end of the day, even the serious and the terrible things like cancer laughing at it doesn't cause you to get it. It doesn't have cancer, like I can't even imagine how much that sucks. But me joking about it doesn't make your cancer worse. And it's just intended to lighten the mood and to you know, if you don't laugh, sometimes you cry. So sometimes we have to take those shitty areas of our life and turn them into jokes in order to make them palatable, in order to open up the conversation, in order to just not associate all of those terrible things with trauma and negativity and and like I I'm okay.

SPEAKER_01

That was the humor of um Archie Bunker and the humor that was so that was it wasn't about um it wasn't that it was acceptable, it was that this is the life, it's in your face, you don't like it, let's laugh about it. It was just making it, you know. So are we offended by this stuff? No, I find it hysterical. I have a ton of I can't think of them right now. I can never be a comedian. But give me the dark humor. I'm happy with that.

SPEAKER_06

And there's also besides me. Uh Lisa, were you gonna say something?

SPEAKER_03

Oh, I was just gonna say that there's also differences in in joking and making fun of like a shitty subject. Like like cancer being the butt of the joke and making it like a class of people or a person that's the butt of a joke, you know. Sometimes they can be offensive, especially if it's like specific, but in general, like um I'm in the camp of like fuck it, make your joke. Like, let's just laugh.

SPEAKER_06

So the joke I'm about to tell you, I get asked to tell. Okay, and it's a historical joke. And it could be construed as a religious joke, but it's a factual joke, okay. I have one of those. Bobby Fuse say it. Go ahead. Okay, well, I I tell this in front of people. I've told it on a podcast before, and I'm gonna tell it again. You know, if people got a problem with this, you know, it's Keblips. K-E-B-L-V-E S, you know, send me a DM, we'll have a fucking discussion. And um, anyhow, so my wife and I, we like to go to a restaurant called European Street, um, down in Jacksonville. I know the owners personally, I know they didn't pay for me to give them this free stuff, but they've given me so much free food in the past that you know they've heard it. Anyhow, at this at said restaurant on the tables are like maps of Europe. Go figure European Street, maps of Europe on the tables.

SPEAKER_01

No one guessed it.

SPEAKER_06

So me and my wife were sitting at a table with Germany, Poland, all that good stuff, right? And she was um telling me we were in discussion about how we communicate and our relationship and and all this. And she goes, I just I just um, you know, when we first got together, I was really up, you know, really nervous about what might come out of your mouth, but now I don't think anything could shock me. And I'm like, Oh yeah? And uh and uh and she's like, Yeah, I don't think anything could shock me. And I said, Your mom's a travel agent, right? She's like, Yeah, and I said, Didn't you you traveled all over Europe, right? And she's like, Yeah, I said, um, this is Germany and Poland. So you're familiar with what happened during World War II there, you know, and she's like, Yeah, yeah. I said, Can you point to the place where the Germans burned the Jews? And I said it loud so everybody could hear me, and she's like, Shut up, you know, so it didn't stop there, it didn't stop there. Um hey, you guys wanted dark humor. Yeah, okay. So it didn't stop there.

SPEAKER_03

So we live around laughing because I'm picturing the whole situation.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, yeah, yeah. So we live about half mile from three Jewish synagogues, right? Now, I don't know if you've ever lived there, but like on Saturdays, like they can't drive, they like walk and all this. Now, these are some of the best people I've ever met in my life. I mean, salt of the earth people, the best people I've ever met in my life. But some of them just don't have a sense of humor, and I put upon myself to make them smile, or at least shoot me the bird, you know, something that's not religious or anything like that. So uh, but nothing in my life makes me more happy than to make my wife feel uncomfortable because she told me that she can't. So we're driving back and I drive an SUV and we're driving through one of the neighborhoods and they're walking around. And I said, You know, I feel bad. I feel like we should like give them a ride, you know? And uh, they're like, they're not allowed to use machinery. And I said, Well, they're not using it. I am, you know, they're like, no, they gotta walk. And I said, Okay. And I said, Well, how about how about we go back, we get your car, and we ask them for a ride, and she's just like, I'm not talking to you anymore. And and and and everybody in the crowd always looks at me and they're like, Why is that funny? And then I'll drop it. She drives a Volkswagen, and um, and it takes people a second to get that. Anyhow, so if you want dark historical, you know.

SPEAKER_00

I hate you.

SPEAKER_06

That's usually lately I've been using it as my closer. Usually, yeah, I embellish a little bit more, but uh oh man.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, did the comedy lead you into podcasting, or was it like a separate journey?

SPEAKER_06

It did, just like everybody in 18. Um, I follow a comic like uh named Bill Burr. Um, he's probably somebody somebody were to ask me who my favorite comic is, it would probably be Bill Burr. I mean, like alive, like my favorite is Robin Williams, George Carlin, and Eddie Murphy. Um, so but you know, two of them are dead, um, and one doesn't do stand-up anymore. So acting stand-up, Bill Burr. Um, so he had a uh podcast called the Monday Morning Podcast, and it was just like him like ranting. And I'm like, you know, I want to do that and we'll do it. And then when the pandemic got, I did that for a lot of the when the pandemic got here. I mean, I didn't have anything else to do, you know. So let's just so I had a thing called Kev Unfiltered. And looking back, I probably should have you know named it something else else because if you like Google unfiltered, like 150,000 you know things come up, and then they're like, Well, you know, who who the hell is Keb? You know, and um it's just you know local southeastern community, you know. So um yeah, but it's just me ranting. Like I had uh an episode of you know 20 things that pissed me off, you know, stuff like that, you know, and um yeah, I had uh an entire episode about these biker guys who think they own the road, not like motorcycle guys, but like people who think that in Jacksonville, Florida, they're they're training for the Tour de France, and um, you know, those guys and just stuff like that, anyhow. Um again, I'm in the home improvement business, and um before I got into what I was getting to now, I was with the company and met Beeps, and um he's just like, Hey, um, they just kind of hit it off, and I told him I had a podcast and I do stand up, so he started listening to podcasts. He's like, uh, we just get into these like great discussions. Well, St. Joe worked there too, and so we had all like sit in a parking lot and just have these like great discussions, and it was just three very different viewpoints. And um, but they would listen. I was still doing coven filter, and they were like, Hey, you should do this, and hey, you should do that. And I'm like, anytime you want to step up to the mic, chief, you know, I'm like, you're not the one putting yourself out there, I am, and I just really don't care what you think, you know. And um, and I said, I would love to be able to tell you that on air where people can hear me tell you that, you know, and and anyhow, so in our conversations, it would always be kind of like, you know, Beebs and I, I don't want to say we would agree, but he would just have a uh point to where he's just not moving from it, and I would make fun of him for not moving from it, but then St. Joe would have like almost to be argumentative, like take the total opposite side, and then I would make fun of him for taking the, you know, and that's our dynamic, and it just works. And so we decided to rebrand the Kevin Filter thing, bring both of them on to call it unfiltered, and then it got re it was that was at the birth of a thing called Good Podcast. And we were I don't want to say we got too big for our britches, you know, but it got really popular really quickly, and we just didn't know, you know, and we would take some stabs at things that we probably shouldn't. Looking back, we probably shouldn't have taken stabs. And there's a lot of things. Um, I know your your listeners aren't familiar with this, but anybody that's joined Unfiltered Studios um knows that we have an agreement for all of our uh all of our um and there's a couple of rules on that agreement that are because of the unfiltered podcast.

SPEAKER_01

Okay.

SPEAKER_06

Because of things that we did on the unfiltered podcast, because it was truly unfiltered. I mean, we did not give a damn. And if you've ever heard uh at the end of one of the unfiltered or beginning of one of the unfiltered studios uh podcasts, the uh this is a production of Unfiltered Studios, you know, that voice, he was also a part of Unfil of this podcast. And it was just it was chaos once a week. I mean, it really was. We had like characters come on and it was just it was just chaos. We and we didn't reel it in like we probably should have. You know, I mean it was just we didn't care. We had a guy named Flat Earth Dave on there, and he uh we let him say his piece and basically kicked him off and just talked shit about him for an hour, you know. I mean, you know, and then I mean if you ever get a chance to do that, don't because if you put that on anything, the flat earthers will come after you, you know. I mean, and you know, we were just there's somebody on TikTok that uh said, you know, you shouldn't spank your children, and we went after that guy saying, you know, do you have children? No. Well then how the hell would you know? You know, I mean, and then you know, here here come all the anti-spanking people.

SPEAKER_01

It kind of went it snowballs, yeah.

SPEAKER_06

And uh, I mean, I was answering DMs for that for weeks. Oh, yeah, I'm still answering DMs for the Flat Earth Dave episode to this day. That happened in May of 2022.

SPEAKER_04

Oh god.

SPEAKER_06

So um that that to tell you how fanatical flat earthers can be. I'm still I mean on YouTube, I'm still getting every you know, you're an idiot, you guys are idiots. You guys I mean this it's so we rebranded it to a thing called refiltered and then rebranded it again to go because unrefiltered all we were talking about was sports anyway. You know, I'm saying because we had you know decided that I mean if you look at the stupid history minute and you look at unfiltered sports weekly, and sports stupid history minute started as a joke. I mean a full-blown joke because I was bored one day, and I wanted to, I I've always loved history, I've always um just been fascinated with it, and I wanted to do something that my kids could listen to that I wasn't gonna curse on, that I wasn't going to, you know, that they could, you know, look how dumb my dad is, you know, uh, but he's kind of smart, you know. And then I remember I I had the idea, blew it by Biebs, and he's like, Yeah, it's a pretty good idea. And I blew it by the soon-to-be world famous wife, and she's like, Well, how long is it gonna be? And I said, Well, I want to give everybody no reason not to listen. So it's gonna be a minute, maybe 90 seconds long. She said, Okay, well, what are you gonna talk about? I said, We're gonna talk about history. Well, what about history? And I remember I was sitting in my chair in front of the TV and I look over on the kitchen table, and there is a ninja blender box. And I said, the first episode's gonna be about the history of a blender. And she looks at me and she goes, That's stupid. I said, That's exactly what we're gonna call it, the stupid history minute, and we're gonna do everyday items and like topics and just stuff people run into every day.

SPEAKER_03

I have to tell you, I I wish that I had known of this podcast, I didn't know this podcast podcast existed before we joined the network, right? But stuff like that is so up my alley. I'm like that idiot who loves like these little tidbits of information. Little bit of mid conversation, like, oh let's Google it. Like, you know, you're watching like some stupid trivia show or you know, bar trivia, and then it's like what's the and I'm like, I know the answer. And you're like, do you know that? And but like all those useless tidbits of knowledge, I love them. And the fact like you said, there's no reason not to listen to because it's like a minute or two minutes long. It's like perfect. My I I'll be honest, my problem is that sometimes I'm like, okay, I want I want to listen to it, but like but like I'm gonna go put it on while I take a shower or while I'm washing dishes, and then like the one will end, and then I'm like, oh, and then what do I do? Like it's not long enough.

SPEAKER_06

Right. I know a lot of I I've every podcast is like a core of listeners that you know you can count on like every day, you know. And um, I have a core that I can count on that if I get something wrong, that because we research, and I say we you know, there's a couple people that help me on this, uh, but we research every one of the like we did our research thing yesterday for September. Okay. And uh because August has already produced and and gone out. Um, so we did uh our research, you know. So like like yeah, I love those sessions because I learned things. You know, I learned yesterday that the reason a vinyl record is called an LP is because it's called a long playing format. You know, that I got that makes sense.

SPEAKER_03

I actually knew that, you know, and AP is extended play, right? Right, right.

SPEAKER_06

So so there there were things like I I love those sessions, and they're like two, three hours to where half of our listeners are like, what's a record?

SPEAKER_03

What's a record? I don't think actually I think all of our listeners. No, that's my my daughter loves to buy records. I'm like, what do you know about that?

SPEAKER_06

But anyway, and we weren't even doing a thing on records, we were doing a thing on vinyl. On vinyl, okay, yeah, and so um, but I love those things because you know you learn things and you're never too old to learn. And um, and like I read the almanac for fun, man, and I'm the only person I know I get the the my it's like a joke between me and my mom. She gives me a new one every year, and uh so and I'll open it up like when we're opening Christmas presents, and I'll be like, Did you guys know? And they're like, dude, shut up, you know, and uh but you know, I just like stuff that I remember I have probably 50 to 75 people that on a weekly basis will DM me about something or another, they'll give me topics or or just say hi. But two or three in particular, two or three in particular that um and one of which I attribute and he I asked him if he ever wants me to tell his name, and he said no. But um about around episode 300, he DMs me and he goes, I think you're marketing your podcast incorrectly, you know, and he goes, he goes, Um, you're you're basically saying that it's you know a minute long, but he goes, I get the joke. It's longer than a minute, but you're calling it a minute. He's like, I get it. Because the whole thing started as a joke. I just wanted to make fun of people who took themselves too seriously on history podcasts, you know, and every history podcast is like nine hours long, you know. So he's like, I think you're marketing it wrong, and I said, Okay, and he goes, You shouldn't market it on how short it is, you should market it on how bingeable it is. You know, he goes, You want people to listen to multiple ones in one sitting, so if they wait for the month, they they can hit that. And we started calling it the most bingeable podcast in the world, and that's on everything that you ever see about stupid history minute. If you listen to an ad, the most bingeable, damn the theme song that I that we had played that. I don't know if I put that out yet, but the theme song in the refrain of it says the most bingeable podcast out there.

SPEAKER_01

Um yeah I haven't gotten up to those episodes yet. I like that because I like short podcasts. Like I get to the point right now. I'm liking the shorter ones, so genius, he's a genius.

SPEAKER_06

So about once a week meh, two two times a week, you'll see in in in downloads and listens, you'll see a huge spike, and that's when somebody is binging them, you know, and you could tell, and then I can geolocate it, and then um, you know, I uh I uh it was not too long ago. I can't remember I can't remember who it was, but I I saw one of them, and it was in Mississippi, and I'm like, or Arkansas or something like that. I'm like, does anybody know anybody in Mississippi and Arkansas? You know, who do we know there?

SPEAKER_03

You caught me when I downloaded them. Was it was a year, yeah? No, no, but I'm in Jersey.

SPEAKER_06

Okay, yeah, and I was just like uh who's in Jersey?

SPEAKER_03

I was like, oh that was me.

SPEAKER_06

I know Sleavey's up there, and um, and uh one of the uh the FDR wheelchair guys is up there are up there, and um I I just you know every time I get like a new because I could tell like if you know Florida, you know, it's just Jacksonville, Orange Park, Claremont, Miami, Tampa, you know, I can tell who who that is. And they're really good about when you get like a core of great listeners who believe in you, when you miss a day, they'll let you know.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

SPEAKER_06

You know, and um, you know, when I was at the hospital for for a week, and uh I came up with uh and you come up I came up with a thing called RoboCeb because I couldn't really talk, my you know, and uh I'm not gonna record from the hospital, and I was at the end of a month, and um I hadn't recorded the next month because that's what I was gonna do that week that I was in the hospital. And um, so I I came up with RoboCeb, you know, and it was AI, but I had put what I did was I I cloned my voice from old episodes, and this thing made a voice that kind of sounded like me, but it kind of sounded like AI, so I called it RoboCeb, you know, and that's who I just put the script of my podcast in there, and they did probably 10 or so.

SPEAKER_01

I think that's gonna have to be an idea. I'm trying to get Lisa more into AI and playing with AI for the editing and stuff. Um at the end of the month, I'm gonna have to have surgery, so I'm gonna be out of commission for a little while. So we're trying to like get in all our episodes that we can bank in now. But I think you need to do Robo Agnes.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

I I think Robo Agnes will be a total hit. I don't know if they have the same voice as me. I know. But it was definitely I have never heard my voice. I have never heard my voice again.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

And the first time I'm gonna listen to my voice will be when Mama D releases our episode like in a couple of days. Oh, is that this week? Yes. I'm excited for it. I'm like, this will be the first time I've ever heard my voice. But Robo Agnes, I would totally listen to Lisa. So that's something you have like three weeks to get it together. Good luck. No? No, okay, I try. I can't get a vacation, she just works me.

SPEAKER_04

Right?

SPEAKER_01

1865, Lisa. Damn it. It's illegal to work you like this. You haven't asked your question.

SPEAKER_05

What's that?

SPEAKER_01

Oh my god. I never got a chance to ask. Oh my god. Um, the the hot seat question? I call it the hot seat question. Okay. What would your role be doing in an apocalypse?

SPEAKER_06

Um so I have a very, very good survival uh instinct, you know, and my survival instinct is to run.

SPEAKER_01

You don't see you don't feel like you you don't have a role like doing the apocalypse, like okay.

SPEAKER_06

Probably cook.

SPEAKER_01

You'd be the cooker. Okay, the chef.

SPEAKER_06

So so look, okay. So if we're in like a walking dead situation here, I don't know.

SPEAKER_01

I haven't thought I haven't taken that's the quest. Take walking dead, um, or the lights with the revolution evolution evolution. What was it? Revolution, the show when all the lights went out, whatever.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, so if we're in one of those situations, you know, um, you know, um Antichrist comes back and in the form of, you know, uh president. Um I mean, you know, uh I mean uh it might be sooner than people think. Um let's just say something like that comes out, and you're putting your faith in somebody that is 49 years old, overweight, has a bad knee to save you. You there's no better word to use than you're fucked. Um we need a chef, we need to eat. People need to eat. I have a if you listen to my episode on pedals of sport, you'll know that I was at one one once upon a time a uh restaurant guru for a lot of years. And um love restaurants. If I could physically still do it, I would. And um, but uh but yeah, I'd probably be, you know, a cook or or you know, the the the the comic relief.

SPEAKER_01

You know, I actually said this, and I don't think she's still getting it. I think she's still thinking of it.

SPEAKER_03

No, I think didn't I say it was gonna run like the speakeasy or something?

SPEAKER_01

Did you? Okay.

SPEAKER_03

I said I said it was gonna look like the cantina in Mul Selee.

SPEAKER_01

Yes, because I think it was a two-part one. It would be like the during the apocalypse and then after what settled, like what your roles would be.

SPEAKER_03

And I think she's like yeah, yeah, I think I said I'm running also.

SPEAKER_01

You're right. Yeah, she did say running during and then speakeasy after.

SPEAKER_03

And then we're just gonna be drunk because I think I'm gonna be too tired to fight. I'm gonna have a bar, I'm gonna run the bar, and if it all ends there, then at least I'll be drunk.

SPEAKER_06

I'd like to be the bartender, but I like to be the bar patron a lot more.

SPEAKER_04

No harm. You know, yeah.

SPEAKER_06

And I don't know, like I think of because I I go back to the walking dead because that that's like a good contrast of like when you're like running from people and then when you're like settled, you know. Yeah. And um, you know, when they're settled, you know, they have jobs for everybody, you gotta, yeah, okay, you know, make you know, uh keep your your your earn your keep. That's a term I'm looking for. But um, you know, I mean, you're not gonna put me at like a watch guard, you know, because hey, fall asleep really easily.

SPEAKER_03

You know, and uh that's a right, somebody will just be next to you asking you questions. Yeah, so we gotta we we'll put a woman there so she'll ask you questions.

SPEAKER_06

You ever think though those questions being as mundane as they could can tend to be is the reason that men fall asleep quicker?

SPEAKER_01

See, we're helping you fall asleep. See, that's an idea.

SPEAKER_06

I usually get when I tell that joke, I usually get a ooh, and then I just split the crowd. Now, I told you earlier that I don't I don't want to split my audience between you know Republican Democrat, like politically, right? But men and women, I do not care about splitting it between men and women, you know what I'm saying?

SPEAKER_01

That's that's okay. You know, I've got you co-signing, I think it's a brilliant idea. That's a he might be on the point.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

SPEAKER_06

You know, so I I think that there are so many funny differences, especially. Um I'm I'm telling you, don't take marriage advice from me. I've been married twice, and I'm I'm I'm I'm not good at it. And uh I was really not good at it the first the first time, and the second time, uh you know, I'm just kind of like, Am I am I a good husband? She's like, Yeah, don't don't don't ask questions. You don't want the answer to you. You know, so um you know it it's kind of like she she's like she's only told me that one time, you know, and the other time is like, was that good for you? Don't don't ask questions. Well, you know what?

SPEAKER_01

I would totally ask you for advice if I was the man because you know what not to do. You have a a list of things uh not to do. I've made every mistake in the book.

SPEAKER_06

I've I've made every mistake in the book, and I've uh you have value. You know, I've said some things that I'm very not proud of, but I've said some things that are shitty to people that I'm really proud of. And um, you know, you know when you're in the shower and you're thinking about an argument you had and you're like, I should have fucking said that.

SPEAKER_00

I hate that. Yeah, oh god, yeah.

SPEAKER_06

Well, the beautiful thing about um yeah, I kind of we just think differently, you know. I think uh we look at the world a little differently, but we're uh a lot of us are really quick-witted, you know. So we we and I was able to say a couple of those things to where I think about in the shower and I'm like, no, I said the exact thing that they did. That was really shitty. I don't care.

SPEAKER_01

I don't care. I didn't. I own. I hate when they don't give me the opportunity to have the argument. I'm like, what what do you mean, you ghost dang me? What do you mean you're done? I have so much to say. Oh, come on. Like, I'm like, that was a good one. That one would have hurt your feelings, that one would have hurt your your your descendants' feelings, but you didn't give me the opportunity, and I'm a little hurt by that.

SPEAKER_05

But anyway, I'm sorry, all righty.

SPEAKER_00

Lisa's like, did you just say her descendants' feeling? Yes, yes, yes, I did.

SPEAKER_06

You know, that's okay.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, it's okay. I'm a little evil.

SPEAKER_06

Say hello to my little friend.

SPEAKER_03

Oh, yes.

SPEAKER_06

What can be a lot of fun?

SPEAKER_03

A little evil.

SPEAKER_06

Oh, I I have a lot of evil.

SPEAKER_01

More fun, more fun.

SPEAKER_06

I don't want to scare your listeners.

SPEAKER_01

They listen to us, they're still listening. If they still listen to us, it's okay.

SPEAKER_06

There's evil, and then there's cab evil. It is cab evil. Yeah, I mean, there there's like no holes barred, and somebody out there is just gonna be like, and this is what got us in trouble on unfiltered.

SPEAKER_01

You know, some access sips after dark.

SPEAKER_06

Right, yeah. That was definitely an after dark. What I want to say right now, the story I want to tell you right now is definitely an after dark.

SPEAKER_03

So here's what we're gonna do. If you want to hear the story, pause this recording and just continue when it gets dark out.

SPEAKER_06

I don't know if I I don't know if I want to tell this. This is literally whatever you want.

SPEAKER_03

That's the beauty of spotlight. There are things that are.

SPEAKER_01

It's really about what you want out there in the world.

SPEAKER_03

And this is right.

SPEAKER_01

If you're okay He did say this is how they got in trouble before.

SPEAKER_06

So it's not that I don't think I've ever told this out loud. It is literally the shittiest thing I've ever said to somebody. Um, and I don't feel one bit fucking bad for saying it. Um and it should I would have to preface it with like this whole thing of I was going through a divorce and and shit like that.

SPEAKER_01

I love disclaimers. I do.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, and and and I wasn't in the right frame of mind. When I say this to somebody now, fuck yes. Um, but um, I'm not gonna tell you who I said it to.

SPEAKER_02

Okay, fair.

SPEAKER_06

I'm not and I'm gonna leave it totally out of context, and your listeners may hate me for this, but and I was dead serious, it just happens to be funny. And um, so I was talking with somebody who I don't get along with who was telling me how I should live my life, and when you tell me how I should live my life, I either my ear just shuts off, you know. I mean, I don't think anybody has the gumption or the has the authority to tell anybody else how they should live their life, you know? And so this person was like giving it to me, and I don't know why I didn't hang up the phone. Yes, I do, I know why, because I wanted to say this to them. And and they were explaining to me how difficult the time that they were going through was anyhow, was because um they had were going through cancer at the time, and they were going through this. And they were going through that. And then they brought this up. And I was just going to be like, oh, that sucks. You know, sorry. You know, uh, my thoughts and prayers are with you, you know, whatever. Click. And no, I wasn't going to say that. Uh, I wasn't going to say that at all. I was going to say what I was going to say, what I'm about to say to him. Anyhow, but they had to take it a little further. In 2004, my father died. My father and me were pretty tight. And it bugged me for a long time, just for the fact because my dad told me he'd see me tomorrow, and then three hours later, he's dead. And um, so she this she this person, and let me preface this. I wasn't married to this person. Okay. So don't think it was my ex-wife that I said this to. So, or my current wife. It's not. Um, it's somebody much more sinister, anyhow. Um, so they said, you know, this is something that your dad didn't have to go through. He just, you know, he was gone just like that. He didn't have to like do chemo and radiation. And I was like, All right, you brought my dad, the gloves are fucking off. And she goes, What do you have to say for yourself? And I said, I don't have to say anything for myself, you fucking bitch, but I do have something to say to you. And she says, Well, what do you have to say to you? I said, Are you listening? And she said, Yes. And I said, Are you listening intently? And she said, Yes. I said, Are you listening to the fact that you can't just listen to me, but you can fucking hear me like that? And she's like, Yeah, and I said, Why can't you die from cancer like everybody else? And it got that reaction right there. That is the worst thing I've ever said to anybody. Honestly, the fact that anyone would bring in your parent and like, well, the way they died at least was no, I how how can you how can you how's one better than the other?

SPEAKER_01

No, so you know what? There are certain topics. Maybe I'm going to hell for this. I don't care. I have a suite waiting for me there. Okay, he's actually expanding my place now.

SPEAKER_06

We can be roommates.

SPEAKER_01

Right. I don't he actually expand hell just to make room for my area. But anywho, there are certain topics that are you don't I'm it's gloves off. I don't care. I'm gonna I I don't care. I'll say it to your face in front of someone else with the microphone and the PA system. I don't care because you brought it to that level. When people go low, I go to hell. And I am I'm okay with that. And I go about my I go about my day. I support you on that one. I don't know. Maybe we're both going to hell.

SPEAKER_06

Okay, so you know how uh Michelle Obama always says, when they go low, we go high. Okay, so no, when they go low, I go lower.

SPEAKER_01

Yep, straight to hell.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, yeah, yeah. I am not I tell you, I am not healed like Michelle. I am not mature like Michelle. I am not Michelle. So you chose to play. So you know what, Cabs?

SPEAKER_05

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

I I give you a 10 out of 10 on that one if I had a little scorecard, if I don't. But you can meet you. We should get scorecard, Lisa.

SPEAKER_06

We should get like but it but but it but it's stuff like that that uh does that's why I'd filtered it around anymore. You know, it's it's a little I'm not saying that we don't say outlandish stuff on the on the sports weekly, but it's so much more of a condensed audience. You know, if you don't if you don't listen to sports, you're not gonna listen to us.

SPEAKER_01

So we're gonna have less opportunity for it to go off the rails.

SPEAKER_06

Oh, it goes off the rails, it went off the rails last week. Oh, okay. Oh, I gotta I gotta tell you this real quick. I know we're running long and Lisa's falling asleep, but uh but uh I got I gotta tell you, I gotta tell you this. And you can listen to this. This is our most recent episode that comes out every Wednesday. But years ago on the Unfiltered, we had a character, a recurring character. Everybody thought it was me, but I don't know how they thought it was me when I'm interviewing the guy. But uh but it was it was clearly a guy that does voices, and um we didn't know who he was. It was a guy named Roger Wright. Anyhow, he came on there and it was about the time of the Tokyo Olympics, right? And um, we were talking about um, and he brought up a uh trampolineer with the name of from China and they with the name of Dong Dong. And uh we just got a good kick out of it because how many dick jokes can you make, right? That guy, that guy's name, right? And and then I'm like, hey, do you and Roger kept playing back with me? I'm like, hey, do you like you know you like the trampoline dong dong? He's like, Oh, I uh love the dong dong, you know, and I mean just stuff like that. And you you can go back and listen, you can go back and listen to anyhow. So so we got word last week where what you know the Olympics started, so we're gonna talk about the Olympics, and St. Joe is actually at the Olympics in Paris. Okay, and um, and so it's just me and me and me and Biebs talking, and and Biebs brings up, he's like, Hey, did you see who retired? And I said, Oh, what you know, retired. And this is like totally off the cuff, right? And he's like, Hey, our favorite trampolinist, dong dong, retired retired. And so at about that time, Saint Joe hits it, you know, we we record live on YouTube, and Saint Joe kicks in with a with a comment, and so we I start, I you know, I'm I'm yeah, this is 10 o'clock at night, so I'm I'm going, you know, and I'm dong dong this and dong dong that no more dong dong, you know. A dong dong here, a donk dong here. Anyhow, Saint Joe texts in, he's like, My wife is crying, meaning that she was laughing. And I and I was like, Beebs, I said, Beebs misses St. Joe, she's crying, she's crying because she gets no more dong. And it just it just went off the rails from there, you know. And and it was just we we actually it titled the episode No More Dong Dong. And so um it just it just so it can go off the rails. It can. The super history meant that's safe, you know, it's pre-recorded. You know, nothing, nothing going, you know, nothing too controversial. You know, I did get a uh when I was doing the sayings, there was a saying that uh somebody didn't appreciate. I can't remember which one it was, but somebody did appreciate and they're like they're like, yeah, you should you should take this episode down. And I'm like, yeah, I really don't give a fuck. You know, so they're like, yeah, you know, that's that's a that's an insensitive saying. I can't remember which one it was, I'd have to look it up. But I mean there's 31 of them, you know, and so I was just like, yeah, I mean, it was somebody care. I mean, you know, here's my thing. If they don't like unfiltered, they don't like uh Steve Hischerman, if they don't like pedal support, they don't like Sassy Sips, they don't like guess what? Don't fucking listen.

SPEAKER_01

I'm okay with that. Yeah, yeah. Not every customer is your customer, or not every listener is your listener, and that's okay. Just move on to the next podcast. And it's okay, we're not gonna be hurt. We we won't, and then you don't have to listen to us, and no one's feelings are hurt, but to listen to someone you don't like, just you can bitch. Yeah, it's a little weird. I think you need you need to get a little help there. A lot of help. I don't know.

SPEAKER_06

A lot of people need a lot of help.

SPEAKER_01

Yes, and we'll and this is where we get canceled. I have a feeling this is where we go suck in the hate mail. But I'm okay with that.

SPEAKER_06

The thing is though, for one to get canceled, one has to give a shit.

SPEAKER_00

True.

SPEAKER_06

You know what I'm saying?

SPEAKER_00

People have to listen to us first. That's one. So they have to hear us to cancel us out of there.

SPEAKER_06

So you know, well, we we go we gonna get everybody a bigger audience in Unfiltered Studios. Um, we're working hard at that. You know, it doesn't seem like we are.

SPEAKER_01

We're gonna be we're gonna work hard to be entertaining for you guys, though.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_01

I'm gonna try. I don't know.

SPEAKER_00

For something, all right. He's like, you're good. Something.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, you guys are definitely entertaining.

SPEAKER_00

Thank you. Oh must be what a cry. Tears of joy.

SPEAKER_06

You know what's you know what's gonna be entertaining right now?

SPEAKER_00

What?

SPEAKER_06

Is my wife. She's probably out there going, he's been back there for two and a half fucking hours. What the hell? He's he's watching porn is what he's doing. That's what he's doing right now. You know, you know, you ever caught a guy watching porn? No, no, okay, just me?

SPEAKER_00

Okay, you just you've been caught.

SPEAKER_06

No, no, no.

SPEAKER_00

Did you catch a guy watching porn? Oh, did you catch a guy?

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, I did. I went over to him and I said, Why do you watch that? He says, because it's entertaining. I said, What side is that? And he says, it's uh it's you porn. I said, grab my phone, I'm like, how do you spell that? You know, he's like he's like, okay. And I said, son, you shouldn't be watching that.

SPEAKER_03

You know, I should have seen it coming. I really should have seen it. I kind of telegraphed that one. That's what she said.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, that's funny. Um, did you give him any good tips on like the better sides to what the to watch?

SPEAKER_06

You know, just that you don't you know, I've never really been. You're gonna you're gonna call bullshit on this one, but I I'm not saying I've never watched it, I've just never been a big, you know, you know, what whatever because I I prefer real life. Um, but I uh accept the fact that not everybody is as glowingly handsome as I. And I'm just kidding. Um, but you're just like, dude, this dude's an asshole. Um anyhow, I just never been really that into it. You know, I'm not gonna say I've never watched it because you know, somebody, you know, buddy of mine would be like, you know, send me this this thing, and I'll be like, dude, don't send me clips like that. I'm in church. And um, you know, so uh you know, but um I'm not naive to the fact that my kids I mean, my son's a junior in high school, you know what I'm saying? I remember clearly what I was doing when I was a junior in high school, you know, and I'll tell you this, it it wasn't fucking playing Xbox. No, you know what I'm saying? It was um, I mean, I got caught in like girls' bedrooms at like one o'clock in the morning, you know. I mean, you know, stuff like that. Yeah, so I but we're not gonna talk about what I did, but um you know, I got I got caught in uh you know in some very compromising places.

SPEAKER_01

But it's but that's like I feel like that's part of the that's just part of being a teenager. We you know, that's the I don't say the fun part, but yeah, that's the fun part of being a teenager pre-cameras, pre-social media, pre you did all that fun stuff.

SPEAKER_06

Dude, if there were cameras around on every phone when I was freaking 18, I'd been fucked.

SPEAKER_01

You know, my whole life would have been ruined. Okay, let's just say that.

SPEAKER_06

Um, but you know, just from the stories that people tell about me to where they're just like, you know, because you know, you get your buddies around and you get your kids around, and my kids are 19 and 16 now, and they want to be like, Well, let me tell you about your dad when he was that age, you know, we're gonna play that game.

SPEAKER_02

No, don't do that.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, yeah, and and I'm like, dude, you're gonna give them ideas that they just simply don't have the skill set to go try because they they they they weren't they weren't the latch key kids. They're pampered, right? They weren't kicked out of the house, you know. They they you know, they they weren't you know threatened with like bodily harm if they did shit. Like when I got home, when when when I knew I was in trouble, when I you know, this is the classic I was born in 75, so this is let's just say the 80s. So when I was in trouble and I got home from school, let's say I fucked up at school, right? And I got home, my dad getting home from work was like a fucking event. You were scared. The butterflies, the sweats, oh yeah, you you were you know that's a kid in your closet. You're like, maybe he'll come in my room and just see I'm not here, right?

SPEAKER_03

Maybe maybe he'll forget that I exist. Yeah, you know, and I didn't have a closet to hide in, but I have a feeling.

SPEAKER_06

But like my kids now that you know, I'll get home, just say they messed up or have bad grade or whatever, they'll just bring it to me. You know, be like, hey, look, I fucked up. I don't need you to tell me that I fucked up, you know, and I'll be like, maybe that would have been so much easier if I would have done that. Maybe my dad would have respected that because that is kind of respectful to do that, you know. But and a lot of people told me this when my kids were young, I was pretty hard on them because all I knew about parenting was was how my dad was. And now I'm not, and but I don't need to be because they are pleased, they are thank you, they are may I have this, please. Yes, sir, no, sir, you know, ma'am. And um, I don't have to be, and people all the time are like, your kids are so polite. And I was like, Well, yeah, when they were little, I you know, I threatened them with corporal punishment, you know, and uh, but I but I I I I will say I never have laid one finger in anger on my kids, you know, or or spanked them or anything like that, because I didn't have to.

SPEAKER_01

You know, I think I scared my daughter, never had to, but there was that fear, like what? Just think if I don't do it, I don't want to find out what will happen if I don't listen to her.

SPEAKER_04

Right.

SPEAKER_01

Of course, you know, she became a teenager and you know that changed. Like she didn't have any fear anymore. So I don't know what I don't know. I just let her go by herself and let her ruin her life. But no, um like fix it yourself. And now she's a grown-up and with her own kids, and I'm like, okay, I didn't fuck you up too bad. I don't think. I don't hope. Well, we'll find out with the grandkids how fucked up they're gonna be.

SPEAKER_06

Well, that that's that's why you don't kill your kids, right? You get grandkids.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I told her if I could have had grandkids without having her, it would have been amazing. She's like, thanks. I was like, Yeah, you're welcome. Love you.

SPEAKER_06

Um I tell you, I tell you this. What's funny about kids is that uh my son recently got his first job. Okay, and it's at and it's at a a car wash. Oh yeah, and he's like telling me all about the car wash and all this. Like I picked him up from his first day. He's got a driver's license, but he doesn't have his car yet because that's why he's got a job is is he's saving to get a car. And um and so um we're we're we're driving back, and he's just all excited. He's telling me about this, telling me about that. And I'm like, well, I've got the most important question for you. He's like, What? What's your question? I'm like, what kind of discount do I get at the car wash?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, that's the first question I always ask. Yeah.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah. And he's like, and and because my my daughter is uh higher up for um uh it's the company that owns the gap and old navy and and yeah, gap, yeah. Anyhow, so she happens to be now at a gap. She was at a old navy and and she's been at Banana Republic too, but she happens to be now at a gap. And old Navy has these things called super cash. I don't know if you know what that is, anyhow. So my wife, who is a fucking professional shopper, um, you know, gets all the super cash and all this, and so we'll we'll literally go in to Gap, grab my daughter, and walk over to Old Navy, you know, and they and be like, hey, can you like uh because there's like some rule with Gap Inc. Like they can't give you a discount like now themselves, but if they go to another store, they can, you know.

SPEAKER_01

So um, but anyhow, um, so it's like you know, you guys get a job where we can get discounts because yeah, I need to be able to get a discount, and yeah, I think yep.

SPEAKER_03

So far, I got a discount at McDonald's. That's it.

SPEAKER_06

Well, I got um I was able to give um my kids' friends, my daughter's friends, uh my son's not old enough, um, tickets to go see uh Gabriel Iglesias.

SPEAKER_01

So that's nice.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, I don't know if you guys know who that is, but it's a comedian called Fluffy.

SPEAKER_03

Fluffy, yeah.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, so you know, I was able to get those for it didn't cost me anything, but you know, other than you know, I gotta perform a couple favors for people, you know. Um see that could go so many ways, but when um Yes, you know, um it's a specific type of favor, but it doesn't have to be performed unless it gets cold enough. Is that awkward enough right there?

SPEAKER_00

I love it.

SPEAKER_06

I know people are like, people are like, you you really yeah, I've couple I have a couple of pets. You really love animals, don't you? If it gets cold enough. You know, I love that's another thing, though. I know this is getting long, but I I love making people feel that are so fucking serious that making people feel uncomfortable. You know what I'm saying? Because I am a big proponent. Okay, so I won't let you in on one political view that I believe strongly in. I don't care who you have sex with, I could care less. You can have sex with a dude if you're a dude, woman, man, whatever. You can go fuck a tree for all I care, you know what I'm saying? I don't understand why it's any of my business who you fall in love with. You know what I'm saying? It's not, it's not anybody else's business. It goes back to the whole personal thing, like religion and politics. Anyhow, but people who have a problem with it, I love to mess with. You know what I'm saying? And it's usually a guy, it's usually a guy that has a problem with gay guys, usually, you know, because I don't think I've ever met a woman that really has a problem with lesbianism. I I I really that has a horrible problem.

SPEAKER_01

They're not as it's not as guttural, the their opinions on as guttural and visceral as men, right? Right.

SPEAKER_06

But you get you get one of these Trump loving, full of, you know, think they're you know, American guys that pseudo alpha, right? Yeah, you know, and they got a problem with it, and I'll just set up to them and I'll be like, dude, I think you're cute. That's awesome, you know, and they'll be like, they'll be like, I thought you were married. I I am. Maybe it's a cover. How do you know? Have you ever really gotten to know me? Maybe we should get a drink and talk about it. I love doing that to people, but you have to be really secure with yourself to be able to do that, you know, and I know people some people aren't, but I I there there's a couple of people locally here in general that understand that I have zero shame and I could really care less if you I would love to do that, but it would backfire on me because I would end up with a date with the couple.

SPEAKER_01

I've been propositioned too many times to even try it. I'm like, no, no, that wasn't my that that wasn't my goal, but okay.

SPEAKER_06

That that that was brought up to me by somebody. It's like, what if somebody calls your bluff? And I'm like, maybe I go. I don't know. And that makes that person feel uncomfortable.

SPEAKER_03

For for many years, I worked in a retail store in Chelsea, Manhattan, which I don't know if you're familiar, but Chelsea is a very gay neighborhood.

SPEAKER_06

Right.

SPEAKER_03

Awesome. I don't care. But to me, what was fucking hilarious every single time is when the men would walk in and hit on my coworkers and all you see is them squirm. And I'm like, oh, so you don't like feeling like a piece of meat? Welcome to our tell me more about it. Tell me more about how you feel uncomfortable when you get hit on while you're trying to work. Right, and and you're not attracted to the person. I don't care male, female, but like they're making you feel like a piece of meat. Oh baby.

SPEAKER_06

So if a dude were to hit on me, number one, why why would wouldn't I take that as a compliment?

SPEAKER_01

Number one, exactly. Like I'm hot, like you like both sexes want me.

SPEAKER_03

Right. Man, woman, if it's somebody you're not attracted to and you're not attracted back to them, like all right, do they not understand that now you have doubled your options? Options, right?

SPEAKER_06

You know, I mean, seriously.

SPEAKER_03

Except that in the case of a man, it's like the man is probably not gonna threaten your life if you reject him the way he might when I reject him because that's that's happened.

SPEAKER_01

But anyway, yeah, well, yeah, but there is that. Did I lose no because I lost signal.

SPEAKER_05

Oh okay.

SPEAKER_01

I lost my signal.

SPEAKER_06

Cool.

SPEAKER_03

But I I'm sorry, Kev, I interrupted you. What were we gonna say? Oh right, yes.

SPEAKER_06

Oh, I I don't know. I I I'm doubling we're doubling options. Oh yeah, you're just doubling your options and um I mean, you know, it I think a lot of guys have a problem with it because it's a violation issue um with it. I think a lot of guys have a problem with it because they um have been brought up a certain way that this is good and this is bad, and don't have the guts nor the balls to make a decision for themselves. You know, they they are so you know concerned about upsetting somebody who they think has a certain you know way of uh I mean I just it goes back to the thing I talked about at the beginning of this of just asking why, you know.

SPEAKER_04

Right.

SPEAKER_06

You know, why do you why do you think that way? Well, and I I bait, I I'm I'm I'm part of the problem. I bait people a lot of time, and and and what I'm trying I'll ask questions and ask why to get them to get back to the answer that I want them to have. And the answer is because the Bible says so. And when somebody gives me that answer, I always reply with this. Well, the Bible, yeah. Well, the Bible also says that um you're not allowed to touch the skin of a dead pig on the Sabbath, so we should kill half of the players in the NFL.

SPEAKER_01

And then or you have to stone your daughter because she's mixing materials or garments, whatever the case may be. But nine times out of ten, it's not it's not everything in the Bible. You know, it isn't. The things that they pull up isn't it? I'm like, where in the where in the Bible does it say this? I don't know, but right, right.

SPEAKER_03

It's not in the pick and choose. Let's let's abide by this, but not by this one, because that one is no fun for me. So, you know. But yeah.

SPEAKER_01

But it's yeah, that sounds like fun. We should go in like a baiting, like a night.

SPEAKER_03

I know I want to do a bar crawl with Kev.

SPEAKER_06

I I do I do that daily. I dude. I I I try to bait people ever every time I get because if I have one huge character flaw, it's just I think I think that that that that I'm right.

SPEAKER_01

Mom, is that you? Yeah. Uh-oh.

SPEAKER_06

Sorry. No, you're good. And uh, I I think that I that I'm I'm right. And um, you know, I I I just think either people need to be made fun of or just show how ridiculous they actually are. You know, I mean if they have an opinion I agree with, I I don't argue with them for argument's sake, but um not a lot of I just think a lot of people take themselves way too seriously, yeah.

SPEAKER_03

Definitely.

SPEAKER_06

That's that's that's my my take on it all.

SPEAKER_03

Life is short.

SPEAKER_06

It is. Yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_01

That is pretty much the basis of who you are. People take their lives too, they take themselves too serious. So thus here comes Keb.

SPEAKER_06

You and and yeah, and and the more of this, it gets a lot, it gets a lot a lot more animated. Uh tell you one one really quick story. I'm getting looked at here through the window. But uh one one quick story here is uh I got uh I have a thousand square foot porch that we like to entertain on. And sometimes entertaining at my house lasts until 4 30 in the morning. And you ever had a I'm so jealous of the porch.

SPEAKER_03

Hold on a little bit.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, it's okay. It's it's it's big. It's got a you know, we got two tables, t-shirt, big TV, uh, ping pong table, dartboard. Anyhow, um so one night we're out there, and uh just it wasn't 4 30, it's probably like three, yeah. And uh I live I live on a nature preserve out in the forest, so you can be as loud as you want. No one's no one's gonna hear it.

SPEAKER_04

Oh, that's even better.

SPEAKER_06

And uh anyhow, so the only uh and I don't think you guys have this restaurant up there, but you might have heard of the illustrious Waffle House.

SPEAKER_03

No, we have well we've heard of them. I don't think there's any in Jersey, but there's but they're in Philly and well they're around every street corner.

SPEAKER_06

I've I've we roll up to a uh Waffle House, and I am not driving. Okay, and um it's it's late or early, depending on you know when you wake up and go to sleep. And um there is have you guys watched Saturday Night Live since the 90s?

SPEAKER_01

Oh no.

SPEAKER_06

Okay, you don't know a character named Pat, do you? I thought Pat. Okay.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, no Pat. Yeah.

SPEAKER_06

Do you remember the the the basis of Pat? The kind of okay, you didn't really know if it was a male or female.

SPEAKER_03

Androgynous, yeah.

SPEAKER_06

So there was somebody that resembled Pat in the Waffle House, and I decided not only to tell the person that they looked like Pat, but to tell everybody in Waffle House that they looked like Pat. And it got real awkward in there real quick, like that. And I said, and my wife was like, dude, you need to shut up. And and I said, So is it poor form if I go over there and just ask them if they're male or female? Is that is that not good? Like that, and I said it like loud because I was drunk, you know, and uh and my wife's like, Well, yeah, we we'll take that to go.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah sounds like your wife is still saving your life, is right? It's a car it's a daily thing.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, so it was uh it was an interesting evening.

SPEAKER_01

You that's when you get you go to your car, go to the car, yeah, and go sit in the corner.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, yeah. So it was interesting.

SPEAKER_03

I mean, I'm not gonna lie, I still want to like hang out in person. Oh, hell yeah. Watch watch the live show. But yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, pop the popcorn, drink the drink, and just sit back and record and then like this is our new podcast. Not even really. We don't have to do anything.

SPEAKER_03

Just watch, but then I might, I might, I'm not gonna lie. I might be like, I'm gonna see you in the car.

SPEAKER_06

That that that that that happens a lot or or or pep talks happen a lot with me too. You know, like hey, before we go, before we go in here, you know, what you're what you're not gonna do, okay. These people are Phillies fans. And what you're not gonna do is tell them that Bryce Elder is gay, you know, or Bryce, sorry, Bryce Harper, you know, or or what you're and and you're not gonna go in there and be like, you know, because like you know, uh, if you get somebody that's like one way or the other on any like let's just say political spectrum is say these people are huge Trump fans and they're huge Philly fans, they'll be like, well, you know, you know that Bryce Harper voted for uh Biden, right? And you like you take their hero, you take their hero and you just crush it. Yeah, but you know, or if they're a Trump fan, they're a Yankee fan. You you realize Mickey Mannell was a Democrat, right? Yeah, I mean, yeah, just say, yeah, that's my boyhood hero. Don't talk junk about him, don't put that on him. You know, I'm not putting it on him. I mean, I'm just saying it's fucking fact.

SPEAKER_01

It's just changed, it's just a fact.

SPEAKER_03

Fact is a fact, it's a fact.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, and I'll just take like their hero, like they have a picture of them with like Ronald Reagan, you know, it's like you're to do anything just to fuck it up.

SPEAKER_01

You need to wear a GoPro and Kev on the go.

SPEAKER_06

A lot of people say that I need to do that in the car. I used to have, if you go back through the unfiltered episodes, which are still on there, there's every now and again there's a Keb in the car where I just put the I just hit record and I'm like, I'll just like have a thought, and then like like out of nowhere, I'm like yelling at somebody, you know? And uh and driving with Agnes. Like people would like people like text me and be like, dude, you should title this like mad ramblings of a dude, you know. I mean, you know, just go from one thing to the next. It's no script, just me talking out in the car. It's usually when I had like a long car ride or something, you know, 30 minutes.

SPEAKER_01

That does sound like on the phone with me. Yeah, yeah. I think we just should do I've been telling we should record we should just hit record when we get whenever we're on the phone. Sure. I think that would be half our half our episodes. We wouldn't have to like sit and record.

SPEAKER_03

There's um I I I think it's on Instagram. I don't know the account, but every so often it shows up on my feed, and it's like this guy who just puts a mic on his dad as he mows the lawn, and he's got like a ride-on mower in like a giant lawn or whatever. But it's just the the the guy talking and it's like mowing alone, like, oh look at the rabbit, and like and it's the rabbit. Like it's just rambling, and like the guy is like happy and he's you know having fun and he's just entertaining himself as he mows along, but it's just like the guy, you know, the whoever the son puts the clips together and it's like oh look at a rabbit, like mowing the lawn and fucking grass and then it's funny, but it it's so dumb and so funny.

SPEAKER_01

And I I wish that I knew the name of the account, but it just it is one of those things that pops up and you watch it and you're like my 10 second limit is up, let's go next.

SPEAKER_03

Right, right, right. Yeah. But I love the like it they're like so dumb and so wholesome, and it's just I don't know, like I love shit like that, you know? And it's it's candid, so it's good.

SPEAKER_01

But are you still getting looks throughout your through your mirror through your window?

SPEAKER_06

Like kinda.

SPEAKER_01

Is he spiking the monkey? Oh my god.

SPEAKER_03

No.

SPEAKER_01

My ears, my ears. Right, because that'll yeah, I'm usually more vocal than that, and your ears don't know how to take it.

SPEAKER_06

No, is that not uh part of the Catholic upgrading?

SPEAKER_01

No, it's not a getting up and sitting down though.

SPEAKER_03

I'm gonna get no, I'm I'm joking with her.

SPEAKER_01

I am because I am bad. I am bad. So I'm actually quite PG today.

SPEAKER_03

Uh-huh. Okay.

SPEAKER_01

So she doesn't she can't hear she doesn't stand it. She's like, wait, what? I don't understand the words that are coming out of your mouth. Yeah. This is the part where Lisa goes, do you have a media kit or anything that we should put on the show notes?

SPEAKER_05

Um, I have a book.

SPEAKER_06

It's called The Stupid History Book, Volume One. And uh on October 1st, Stupid History Book Volume 2 is coming out, which is mildly more ridiculous than volume one. Uh it it's it's written to sound like a history book. Okay. Uh so but that you're listening to the or reading about the history of a fucking yield sign, you know. So that's important.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_06

The j joke of it all, and there's a couple of uh of uh Easter eggs in it that kind of originated from the podcast. It's a little bit more than the podcast. It's not like kind of the podcast kind of like tongue-in-cheek. Like I'll be like, you know, butchering names on purpose, just so I kind of do things on the podcast that are so subtle that are kind of meant to get some interaction of people telling me, hey, I'm wrong, or hey, you know, I'm this and that, but they're listening, you know. Okay. So I I kind of do a lot of that like this month when when we recorded August, we did stupid sports that that's going right now. And I, you know, I'd be like, you know, get a load of this, or hey, I'm about to butcher this guy's name, you know. And uh, you know, and I did a lot more as as you listen to the evolution of it, because I used to do it like we're doing this seriously, we're making fun of these people like Walter Cronkite. You know, this was Walter Cronkite. That's why that's that's why I always say, Hey, uh, I'm your host, Kev Pound, and then I end it with and I'm Kev Pound. That's why I do that. And just but uh it's gotten a lot more, I won't say casual, but just a lot more of putting a little bit more of humor as it as it has gone on. And now I've gotten into such a groove to where um when we record we do a recording session, which takes about two hours uh for the entire month, um, and we've got everything researched and all the copies written and all this good stuff. And it's not hard to write a copy. We basically have a template, you know, and then we have a list of buzzwords that people have told me that they hated that I put in every freaking episode.

SPEAKER_01

You put it in intentionally, love it.

SPEAKER_06

Oh yeah, what one of them is beloved. Uh it's in almost every episode.

SPEAKER_01

Is moist one of the words? I feel like moist would be like everyone hates that word. I'm like, I think you should find a spot for it.

SPEAKER_06

Fascinating is one of them, you know, because they're like, yeah, they're just like, you know, everything, everything you always think things are fat has a fascinating history, you know, and uh beloved is is one in particular person who every time I say beloved, he'll be like, dude, you know. Um but you know, there there's a list of them that we try to incorporate at least once or twice every other maybe third episode.

SPEAKER_01

Nice.

SPEAKER_06

But um, you know, um, so it's gotten a little bit if you listen to the evolution of it to where it started, and it was just like dude, I was recording like the equipment has gotten better as I've gone along. The you know, the uh uh production of it has gone along, but it's still from the very first episode has had the same theme music. We've had the same podcast art, we've had the same, we have always had a different podcast art for social media than we do for the show. Um, and just stuff like that I'm not gonna change because A, I don't care that much, and B, this whole thing. I never thought that something that I literally started as a joke that was probably only funny to me would ever creep to 50,000 episodes or 50,000 downloads. I never thought that.

SPEAKER_01

That's a good show. You do something right, yeah.

SPEAKER_06

Uh, you know, and now I kind of take it, it's kind of you know, it's a labor of love now that it's become kind of a brand. And um, you know, with the book, and then there I I kind of think all the time, and I was talking to other podcasters who get a lot more downloads than me of hey, you know, how do you take this thing to the next level? You know, and um and one of them suggested I'm gonna do this. I just don't quite know how to do this. You can't really do it on YouTube, but you could do it on TikTok. And I've got enough followers on stupid history's tick tock to go live. And he said, Why don't you go live and do one of these recording sessions live? And and because they can people have always asked me, because we do okay, so we do like a guest host month every January, and so and trust me, you guys are gonna be asked to do it, and uh, and what the guest host month is is you take another podcast hosts and they do a stupid history minute.

SPEAKER_04

Oh, I love that okay.

SPEAKER_06

They pick they pick the topic, I'll we'll research it, we'll write the copy, send it to you. All you gotta do is record it, send it back to us, we'll take it from there, and we pop you on in this guest host month. And last year it was really popular. It's last year, it's every January. This is last January. So, so that's kind of how we know when we did that last January. Every the feedback that I got was like, man, this is not as easy as you make it out to be, you know, because and I'm like, no, it's not. Some of these things take five, six takes, you know, and then it's not like you can like edit it in the middle like you can this, you gotta start over, you know. And so sometimes you get to the last three words, that's why you need to read through it first. If anything's hard to pronounce, you need to sound it out, you know, and pronunciate, yeah, and and so, but but when you're recording, you get to it, you know, you're just oh man, I jacked that up. I'll start over. Well, a lot of people are like, dude, you need a blooper reel, you know, because we know your vocabulary, you know, we know how you can be. We know how zero to a hundred. So I actually um did one and like recorded it, but like didn't go live or anything like that. I just record like put hit record and then just did whatever, and I wound up not fucking up at all. At all. Maybe like once or twice. So it like wasn't a good one. It wasn't good before and so the one after that. So I'm waiting to get like one that has that like okay, so I know in November, like I've I've got the year planned out of what we're doing. Wow. Um, we're doing just random stuff in um September. We're doing um horror movies in uh October, and then we're gonna do uh uh the history of airports in November. And I'm gonna wait till November to do that because some of those airports in the world are tough to pronounce.

unknown

Okay.

SPEAKER_06

So I'm gonna wait until but he said, Hey, go on TikTok, do that live, and you'll you know, people will just be coming and just ignore it.

SPEAKER_04

That sounds fun, yeah. But that sounds fun.

SPEAKER_06

So we're gonna try to try to do that. Get get a video presence versus an audio presence, you know, along with an audio presence.

SPEAKER_01

So I can't wait for that tober, the horror movies.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, yeah, it's gonna be cool. Actually, our friends over at Movie Lovers Unite uh gave me the list. Yeah. John over there, I said, Hey, are you a horror fan? And he said, Absolutely. And I said, Hey, can you give me a list of horror films that I can research the history of? And yeah, I mean, about 10 minutes I had it.

SPEAKER_03

Is it hard to condense the research that you get on things into like one or two minutes?

SPEAKER_06

No, because um you figure out how many words it needs to be for the time frame. And so um, thanks to our good friends over at the Microsoft company, you know, uh they can when you when you write these things on uh little program they developed a couple years ago called Word, um, you can tell how many words they are, so you can just kind of you know get it it's actually good practice to for joke writing because joke writing you don't want it to get wordy, you know, you don't want it to get uh you want every word of a joke to uh hit, you know, that you need you need every word of that joke. I'll give you an example. Here's a dark joke for you uh that you need every word of. And I didn't write this joke, but I'm gonna tell it. Um, and it's a good example of this, is like uh, you know, we you know, here in the south, we like our beer like we like our violence domestic. You need every word of that joke. You know, you take one word out, it doesn't work, you know. So so you take one word out, it doesn't work. Again, I didn't write that joke. Um you know, but you take one word out, it doesn't work.

SPEAKER_01

So okay. Uh I thought it was something like we keep her on the family, but okay, I like that one too.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah. You know, so but anyhow, yeah, that's uh that's what's coming up for this new instrument.

SPEAKER_03

So uh I I want to say thank you for coming and hanging out with us.

SPEAKER_05

And thank you for having me.

SPEAKER_03

Anything like all of your links, all of everything we'll we'll put in the show notes.

SPEAKER_04

Okay.

SPEAKER_03

So just shoot me like a DM of everything and I'll just plug that in.

SPEAKER_04

Cool.

SPEAKER_03

And uh yeah, I mean, you know, we always remind everybody to drink responsibly, not to drink and drive. I'm sorry that you hear the tap tap tap of Stella's feet during this.

SPEAKER_05

Oh, you're good, sure.

SPEAKER_03

But uh until next time, I'm Lisa. And I'm Agnes. And Kev, thank you again. And I hope we didn't forget anything. But you have to do that.

SPEAKER_06

I don't think so. I talk a lot.

SPEAKER_03

No, that's hey, that's what we're here to do. And uh yeah, until next time we're out of here.

SPEAKER_06

Cool.

SPEAKER_02

See you later. Bye.
